Percy did the right thing rejecting Reyna and going for Annabeth because he was already in a relationship with her.

Jason did the right(ish) thing going for Piper because he never had any romantic feelings for Reyna and never led her on either.

I don't know what's so hard to understand here.

just started reading the book and i’m on page 90 and the parallel between jason and piper and annabeth and percy is insane

there’s a scene where jason remembers piper getting claimed by aphrodite and then she becomes ‘pretty’ but jason’s though process the next morning is “sure she looked great after Aphrodite zapped her, but she also didn’t look like herself, not comfortable with the attention”

which reminds me of when annabeth was on circe’s island and she was transformed too and all percy could think was “that wasn’t annabeth”

To the people saying "Jason wouldn't have jumped into tartarus for Piper, like Percy did for Annabeth" as a way to demean him. Jason, plunged into the sky from the grand canyon to catch Piper in the first few pages of the lost hero without even knowing who she was, and without the knowledge that he could fly. so he basically jumped to his death attempting to catch her.
