How my Saturday evening went:

SpyXFamily: s2 ep5.

Why do I even keep watching it. Everything about the way Yor is written irritates the hell out of me. How can anyone, let alone an assassin be stupid enough not to realize that a women you are sent to protect because all the males in the family were murdered has lost her husband?! *breath in-breath out* Anya-chan is precious and she is the saving grace of this anime, but good lord, her parents. Tasogare is just boring, Yor’s pervert brother is boring AND infuriating. Yor herself - well, I knew I won’t like her from ep1 - is my least favorite thing in the world: a naive and sweet murder machine. I understand the desire to play with opposites, to combine tropes - but it just doesn’t work (yes, it does, it’s one of the top anime for seasons now) - or rather it somehow ticks me personally off in every possible way.

P.S. - I still watch SXF because my husband loves it. And because openings and endings are so great(the latest one is even done my my beloved Masaaki Yuasa!), they keep tricking me into thinking it will get me invested one day.

Then

Kusuria no Hitorigoto: s1 ep5.

My perfect, fantastic, gorgeous child! How can an anime so low on action (and I don’t even mean action as fighting, just plain things happening) be so very engrossing?! I adore the characters, I adore the animation, I adore the funny and the serious - and most of all the ability to dance between the two without sacrificing either drama or comedy.

PS - The point of only pretty women being in danger of r*pe is icky, but I assume that’s not actually what the story intended to say - rather that hiding your natural beauty lessen one’s chances of being assaulted. The very fact the topic is brought up seriously without a shadow of joke means a world to me.

And then

Sousou no Frieren: s1 ep9.

*Mind blown* I thought… I assumed… everyone said it was a QUIET ANIME WHERE YOU JUST WANDER THE LAND AND REMINISCENT ABOUT THE FRIENDS YOU’VE LOST AND SLOWLY LEARN ABOUT YHE WORLD WHY THE HELL AM I LOOKING AT THE BEST ACTION SCENE SINCE THE FINALE OF KINGS RANKING?

And it’s not just that action is great - it is also a great character moment - no! not a moment! - it’s a great character examination. Both our heroes and the devils show off their skill but most importantly they cement the characteristics they were given in prior episodes: Fern and Stark together represent humanity’s ability to use the little time we have on this earth to the fullest potential because humans have so little of it. The pair of demons once again prove what Frieren has said again and again: they can mimic, but they don’t understand. And each character has their own personal story as well. I’ll probably make a separate post about that.

No PS here. Only screams. How can this anime be so pitch perfect? Wow. Woooow. Just wow.

hi.. i’m talking about both fictional minor characters and real minors; if you sexualise them, dni, it’s really that simple. unless of course (for the characters) in the fictional work they grow up and are 18+ some time later on in their story.

also, there r enough fictional characters out there who are minors — many are literal kids … like klee/diona from gi? anya from spyxfamily? gon & killua from hxh? are they not minors in your eyes? bcs ima tell u, they clearly are drawn as ones

The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang. 8/10

I would recommend this book to my friends. I wouldn't reread this book.

Master Jun is trash. I would hate if the people and authority figures from my school transferred into the people in my real life and life as real as during the war. Grades are unimportant here but these people are still authority figures and controlling lives. The Federation is disgusting. All these stories are disgusting. Idk how people can be so okay with atrocities during war. Venka's stories after we find her is (insert adjective of the lowest level of disgust). I don't even have words. My insides are just twisting.

Chaghan is good. I think he would be a good influence on me. But, he's still an asshole for sure. The author is so good at describing how the body feels. Very aritculately relatable. This whole pride as a people is so relevant imo. I like Altan and Rin's feelings on their shared history/ancestry. I like Kitay and Rin's relationship.

The phoenix taking over Rin is so 9-tailed fox with Naruto. I'm getting ATLA, Harry Potter, Spyxfamily, & Naruto all put together but also not really.

They should make this book into a show. Not a movie because so much is going on.

I have a general outline of how their chapter will go, but none of them are written though lol. And some of them have been in the doc for a year now and more. I like daydreaming scenarios more than I like writing them down sometimes. And I know some people would like me to update my other fics like the camp jupiter AU one or the Kronos AU one, so seeing I have more ideas for this series probably isn't the best thing to hear in the world for them 😅

I haven't watched the second season of SxF, but I have read the manga up to chapter 86. Loid and Yor are so cute, but I think Fiona is the funniest character there lol. Her obsession really makes her do some outlandish stuff. She has her cool moments though and I love those. That tennis match though. Both the tournament and the match with Yor was peak. But yeah, my two favorite characters are Loid and Fiona followed by Anya and Yor.

I'm DESPERATE to get my spyxfamily interest back. It's hard to describe a coping mechanism.... especially an anchor.

That ppl do ruin.

It distracts from irl thoughts and reality.

But it's harder to keep it because triggers from others trigger my irl thoughts. They spiral into suicidal depression.

Had a fucking waking nightmare ( a nightmare that happens cuz of drifted thoughts or nodding off) that was too damn r÷al and hit DEEP. To the point I just...... I'm falling apart mentally and emotionally.

It's falling into dangerous territory for me… of I dont know anything anymore…
