The inherent danger of roleplaying with people when you first start a verse is that you automatically fill in the blanks as soon as posible why Souji acts certain ways with certain muses and you're screaming inside because it's cute and also like holy shit Souji pls don't do this to mw when you've only interacted with them once.....

Leon is a SURVIVOR, and that has not changed through the franchise
What does it mean?
Since his first appearence in RESIDENT EVIL 2, Leon was that one character who was put in situations he was not prepared for.
In everyone's first appearence (Rebecca in RE0, Chris and Jill in RE1, and Claire in RE2), they all were survivors. 'Random' people, completely unaware of the horrors they were going to face when they woke up that morning, thrown in a mansion/city filled with Zombies and other creatures.
The difference between Leon and all these others (Jill, Claire, Chris), is that those never changed for him. Up to this day, in every Resident Evil game Leon has been into -, it is him falling in the middle of a chaos he didn't even know it was there.
In RE4 -, Leon's mission was to go after the president's missing daughter. Didn't even cross his head he was going to face yet another experience with B.O.Ws
In RE6, and Leon's last appearence in a game (chronologically speaking) -, Leon was there to show his friend, Adam Benford, his support
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He never, even for a moment, thought that he was going to witness (cause??) his friend's death.
Tumblr media
Leon is that unluck bastard who continues to constantly fall into Death's trap and get his life played with by the hands of fate.
In Resident Evil 3 -, Jill went back to RC willingly and already imagining the horrors she would face (With Nemesis being a very unpleasant surprise) already knowing about everything, and how to deal with it. She was prepared to face it.
In RE5, Chris was in Africa BECAUSE of reports about a potential B.O.W outbreak.
In RE6, Chris is again diving in head first in it completely aware of what is happening and having a complete vision of the situation.
In RE7, Chris, again, going to a place BECAUSE it is a mess. He KNOWS what is happening and that they're talking about a viral outbreak.
In RE8, Chris... Again... He knows.
In RE:Veronica, Claire breaks in an Umbrella facility and you can BET your sweet ass she went prepared to possibly face more of those BOWs freaks.
Leon is just the guy to be in the wrong place, wrong time. Basically, someone who would also very much welcome a rescue workers to protect his sore ass off
Tumblr media
Leon is constantly a SURVIVOR. And that is why he is an AWESOME character and AMAZING Agent. He is never trully prepared to what he will face, but he always ends up on the top. Against all odds

Leon Kennedy Crying Headcanons
Warnings: Trauma, crying, emotion, comfort reader-insert, there’s a lot more for RE4 leon, I kept things gender neutral but if I slip up, lmk
Everything SFW but minors stay away anyway
RE2
Right off the bat, he doesn’t cry often
Not that he feels the need to bottle things up, he just doesn’t cry unless it’s something REALLY bad
As in, he’s going to shut down type of bad
If he does start getting emotional he really only wants his s/o
He’s not ashamed of his feelings, but he does prefer privacy
When he’s on the verge of crying, you’ll see his eyes become glossy, and he excuses himself to another room
His voice goes quiet and soft, and his hands shake a little bit
Just hold him, let him cry
You don’t need to speak, he just needs to let it out, though he does appreciate gentle reassurance
If you kiss his forehead he melts
After he’s done crying and feeling better he’ll still hold you
At this point it’s like aftercare, he needs to be taken care of a little bit, reassure him. Tell him you love him
He feels incredibly vulnerable and even a bit embarrassed he ended up crying so hard
He feels everything so strongly, it leaves him emotionally, mentally and physically fried
Just let him know everything is gonna be OK, and you’re there for him.
He’s gonna be fine, just needed a good ol’ cry
RE4
Bottles everything up. Absolutely refuses to let himself seem vulnerable
Leon had his emotional side pretty much beat out of him by the trauma of RC, military training and being an agent
So he bottles everything and hides behind the endless walls he puts up
You’ll need to know him extremely well to know when he’s going to break down, because he WILL break down
You’ll see him swallow and immediately turn away, his shoulders shake ever so slightly with his back turned to you
He’d most likely close his eyes tightly and take a deep breath to calm himself down
Like I said. Bottles everything up. He pretends he’s fine
Leon isn’t a going to look for you when he’s at his breaking point, so you’ll have to find him
But if you manage to be with him when he finally shatters completely, he’s going to need you
Be warned, what he feels is STRONG
This is everything he kept under lock and key literally exploding out in the open
If you belittle, criticize or insult him in this state, not only are you an asshole, he will immediately end the relationship
He physically goes weak, sinking to his knees
Leon will try and cover his face with his hands, hunching over to finally let the tears fall
He doesn’t just cry. He weeps himself into sickness
His entire body jerks with every sob to the point it hurts
Hold him. He needs someone to just hold him and protect him in this state
He’s BEYOND vulnerable while he’s like this. He can’t speak. He can barely breathe
Just wrap your arms around him, run your hands up and down his back, and whisper gentle words to him
In the back of his mind he’s gonna call himself whatever Krauser called him during his training, which makes him feel even worse
Leon shuts down at this point. His mind is a mess, his emotions are a chaotic disaster, and your the only one that can ground him
It takes a while. And I mean a good 20-30 minutes for him to become calm enough to even take a deep breath
He holds you the entire time, you’re his lifeline, and he can’t be alone
There’s a 50/50 shot he passes out immediately after crying. The chances skyrocket to 90/10 if your laying in bed during his break down
When he wakes up he’ll feel much better physically, though he’s embarrassed you saw him cry
However, if he remains awake, he needs to be reassured and taken care of. He’s so exhausted he becomes sluggish
Get him some water, tell him you love him and that you’re there for him
Even if he doesn’t say it immediately, Leon greatly appreciates your patience and understanding
Just hug him, kiss his temple and tell him everything is going to be alright

i just saw a reply to my anonymous message sorry 😭 and thanks for the answer!
i think a very dynamic story would come out where leon’s romantic feelings for us bordered on parental ones. and yes, this is forbidden love and dark notes won’t hurt, i guess
okayy I have some written down, lmk if I'm picking up what you're putting down, anon! :D
You swear up and down that nobody will ever love you like he does. Care for you like he does. Pamper you. Put up with you like Leon does.
Or maybe it's the way that he loves you. It's weird. Constantly wants to be called daddy, sometimes even dad. Needs to be showered with authority and respect on the daily. Cook his meals for him and make sure the house is relatively cleaned up. Simple things he wants from you.
Shit, maybe it's because he's known you ever since you were a teenager. Saved you from dying when he was just a rookie Agent, on Operation Javier. Said, "I've got you. I'm not going to hurt you. Okay?" Had to hide you from the government. Not because you were injected with a virus, but because you were just a regular civilian.
He felt bad for you, reminded him of RC and Sherry. This time, he can save somebody properly. Albeit, he might have to hide you for a bit and get you a new identity. You, on the other hand, fell in love with him at first sight. Didn't even care about what was going on, except for if he was hurt or not.
After awhile, Leon decided to shape you up. Make you somebody who he can look forward to coming home to. Had to teach you how to cook what he likes, wash his clothes the way he likes, and greet him the way he wants to be greeted. Thought to himself, "If I can't have a normal life and a family of my own anytime soon, I'll just teach them to call me daddy."
Or at least that's what it was at first.
Now, he's kissing you, groping you and burying himself deep inside of you. Says it helps him ground himself with the now and helps get rid of any stress from work. Since he's the government's lap dog.
Constantly filling you to the hilt with his cum. Especially when you call him dad. Makes him all fuzzy inside, thinking about a family of his own. Whatever he wants, you deliver to the best of your abilities.
"Hey baby," he presses a kiss to your temple, snuggling up behind you on the couch. "Whatcha doing?"
"Resting my eyes." You mumble into the blanket, feet moving backwards to tangle with his legs.
"Sounding more and more like your old man," he chuckles heartily, giving you a nudge to which you groan at.
You flip over and bury your face into his chest. The warmth of his body and the scent of his earthy citrusy cologne is overwhelming your senses in a good way. Makes your mouth water a little bit. Truly feels like home when Leon's around.
"Shut up, daddy." You headbutt his collarbones and his chest shakes and you can hear him trying not to laugh at you. Breaths coming out of his nose rapidly as he lets out a soft laugh, patting you on the butt.

RE4 Leon Kennedy - Random Headcanons
(This is for the 4th game, not the 2nd)
TW: Mentions of alcoholism
• Leon, despite being of Italian descent, does not do the hand gesture we all joke about with Italians
• He also is a mediocre cook. Actually, he probably doesn't cook at all, just lives off of sandwiches
• He has nightmares, and a lot of them. A PTSD thing.
• Speaking of PTSD, after what happened with Raccoon City in RE2, and then later down the line, what happened with Spain (RE4, obviously), he definitely has it.
• He also likely has some form of depression, but I can get into that in another post
• He'd be the type to show he loves someone through actions, little actions. He would be the type to quietly vacuum the living room if a loved one mentioned their lack of time and motivation to do it themselves. By quietly, I mean he wouldn't say anything about it, he'd just do it.
• He likely nicknames SO's with Spanish nicknames. Not something common, such as "mi amor," since everybody and their mother probably knows what that translates to.
• Instead, he'd call an SO things like "muñequita," "tesoro," and "querido."
• If his SO doesn't know Spanish, he'd probably get that tiny smirk on his face watching you try to figure it out.
• He has scars, and lots of them. There is no way he got through two major traumatic events and didn't get one scar from it.
• He's the type to have been told that men shouldn't cry or some bull like that. Instead, he'll get irritable and completely silent, and his face is a dead giveaway to what he's feeling (despite trying not to show it).
• In secret, away from his loved ones, he does end up breaking down, even when he tries not to. This is almost always away from the public eye, so likely at night when he's lying in bed or if he's in the shower, or just at home in general (if he lives alone).
• As for his alcohol issues, I wouldn't be shocked if that started earlier than Capcom let on
• Since he was volun-told to be an agent, this likely contributed to his alcoholism and depression
• Hero complex to the max; if he can't save one person, he can't save anyone. This ends up being detrimental to his mental health (though his desire to help others in RE2 is quite endearing)
• He probably would get flashbacks to Spain if he heard any form of dog howling, barking, or related audio triggers
• I say audio triggers because he seems like the type to focus on them.
• Due to being an agent, he has very good skill, but also some pretty bad habits that he formed during training
• He knows when someone is flirting, he just doesn't reciprocate- if he responds at all- if he doesn't have any interest in the person.
• He's not as uwu small soft boi as he was in RE2. Have you seen his roundhouses? They're higher than my grades. He will destroy you.
• Speaking of destroying people, he will also be the type to not hesitate to point a weapon at you if he hears anything related to you being or having been on the enemy's side. This is also ingrained into him from training, but he also doesn't want a repeat of what happened with Ada in RC.
• Speaking of Ada, he will show no softness for the people who try to use him to get what they want. He knows what side he's on from the get-go, and will not hesitate to leave you behind (though he may miss you a bit. He definitely will not tell anyone that, though)
• He's down-to-earth. Whether you want him to be blunt or not, he will be blunt. Sometimes, this can cause rifts in his relationships with other people, though. He's calloused compared to your everyday dude.
• He's a rough-around-the-edges type of guy. He may be a rough lover usually, but he will 100% have his soft moments
That's all I got, homies.

Ok ok ok, so…hear me out. (TW: death, and suicide at the end)
Let’s just say Leon’s kids (maybe they’re a teen at this point) ends up captured by some evil bioweapon lab. The ransom note is essentially ‘leave us alone to do our science or we kill your kid’
I can see this playing out two ways.
The first, Leon tears apart the world. He sees red and essentially blacks out until he’s reunited with his child/ren. He’s awake for the entire time it takes to find them. The only time he actually ‘rests’ is when his body physically crashes and passes out. Even then, he gets nightmares. What if they’re too late and his kid/s become twisted creatures? What if they’re already dead? What if he has to put a bullet in his own precious baby because they were reduced to a shambling zombie, just like RC?
He wakes up screaming. Crying. Sobbing.
Even if he gets to them in time, they’re undoubtedly traumatized. They won’t be child/Ren anymore. They would have been exposed to how fucked the world really is. He starts thinking he’s a failure. He’s failed to protect his kid/s. The ones he loved the most in the world have had their innocence ripped away.
But damnit, when he finds them, you bet your ass he’s not letting them go. He hugs them tightly. Almost too tightly. Leon starts sobbing. They’re unharmed. Untouched by evil science.
When it comes to the escape, he holds their hand. It doesn’t matter how old they are, he’s going to hold onto SOMETHING. They aren’t coming out of his sight ever again. Not after this.
Second scenario, Leon IS too late.
He sees what USED to be his kid/s. If he stared hard enough he could see them, under the shambling, the growling. They were still in there somewhere.
But he was too late. Even if they could get a cure, the damage was done. His child/ren were gone.
The world goes quiet for Leon. His only focus would be on them. All he could hear is his own heartbeat. After he ends their pain, I don’t think he’d go home.
The official report be KIA, but anyone else who was on the mission would know the truth. Leon didn’t want to live without his kid/s.
BUT THEN ITS ALL A NIGHTMARE BECAUSE I MADE MYSELF SAD TYPING THIS AHHHH IM SORRY
cw: religious imagery, mentions of gore and violence, suicide attempt
Hey, angsty anon, I know you remember sending this to me when I was at work and it fucking upset me but I said I would make it worse...well I'm making it a tad bit worse by adding my thoughts to this. Apologies in advance, and of course if you don't want to read some sad shit, don't read it. (I was half asleep writing this so my bad lolz)
I think Leon's family becoming involved in the horrors of bioterrorism, the very thing he's trying so hard to protect his loved ones from, is one of his biggest fears. In this field, he's seen people he cared about, good people, who were abandoned by those meant to protect them and had to alter their bodies to try to feel control. Although Leon does everything to ensure his family is protected, he still falls short when his child gets taken away by an enemy and is used as collateral.
The entire aspect of finally being able to have a life gets to Leon. To have a chance to settle down and have a family of his own which is now being threatened, turns Leon into this vindictive monster just motivated by revenge. On prior missions, he's usually calculated and knows what to do, where to go, and what to bring. But now that his child is involved, his own flesh and blood, yeah he blacks out for most of the mission and is going off of instinct.
He doesn't give his partner much of an explanation when he just says he's going to leave and that he knows he's going to bring his family back together. He can't promise anything, can't promise if he'll come back in one piece or at all, but he will bring his child back home. If being a federal agent working in bioterrorism has taught him anything, is that not everyone comes back. Sometimes he just gets lucky and the cycle repeats.
Leon does not sleep, does not eat, and much less gives a shit about his own safety and health. As far as he knows, he's on a witch hunt to kill the bastard that threatened his family and his happiness. The entire time he's trying to get his child back, his mind goes back to the horrors of all of his missions. He thinks back to the fear he felt in trying to save Sherry, he remembers the way his mind went all hazy on his mission to Spain and saved the president's daughter.
It's all the same. But it has to be different right?
He doesn't consider himself to be a religious person, he used to be back in his youth. But as this rogue mission goes on longer and longer and he spends more time without his child, he starts to silently pray that they're alive, that they haven't been ruined like everything else in this rotten world.
Let's say he does find his kid in one piece, scared and traumatized, probably tucked into a corner in a dingy cell in some run down lab. Leon wrapped his arms around them, apologizing over and over again, looking for forgiveness, and blaming himself for putting his child in danger simply because of the life he was forced to live.
He does get back home in one piece with his child in his arms and eliminates any other possible and future threats so he never has to worry about that again. The people who even think about hurting his family will regret ever doing so. As long as his child is safe and back at home, he thinks he's achieved the impossible and is protecting all that he holds dear.
But let's go on the opposite end of the spectrum. What will happen if Leon doesn't get there in time? If he finds his child turned into some monster as revenge? It would tear him apart, and he will consider this to be his karma for even wanting a better life for himself, a life he doesn't deserve. The person or thing in front of Leon wasn't his child anymore, it was a mess of torn-up limbs and cut skin, and he couldn't feel his child's presence anymore.
His soul is empty as he raises his gun to shoot towards the monster, putting them out of their misery, and the last bit of humanity Leon has left goes with the dead body hitting the ground. He still has a mission to complete, a society to protect, so he focuses on that and refuses to give himself a moment of grieve.
Later he says, I have time later.
He's detached from his reality throughout the remaining time he gives himself to finish off this mission, his last mission. When all the threats are eliminated, he walks around aimlessly, his spirit has run dry and he knows the gaping hole in his chest is too much of a burden to handle. He doesn't cry, he's done enough crying in his life and frankly, he doesn't have any more tears to give.
I've failed. I've failed you. I'm sorry.
The words repeat in his head and he pretends his significant other somehow gets the message that he's not coming back home. He wonders if God will come to save him from this blasphemy, but this is the price he had to pay for having too much blood on his hands, blood he did not want to have.
His hand is steady as he puts the gun to his temple, finger on the trigger and he hears it click, nothingness comes right after. He doesn't feel pain, doesn't feel much of anything, and surprisingly he feels calm...at peace.
Things can't be different. Not this time.

@void-detective OKIE DOKIE ILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTION HERE (hey hi hello it’s lil ol me @wisecrackingeric-2 ) CUZ THATS WHAT THIS BLOGS FOR AGABGSWBDHJSX I HOPE YOU DONT MIND!!!!!
Okay so the thing is. Compared to Leon or even compared to his time spent with Los Illuminados we don’t,,,, k n o w a whole lot about that portion of Luis’ life
Like OK if you’re speaking in logistics/canon compliancy then no alas it wouldn’t work at all JANSHSNDJXNX Laboratory Six (the Lab Luis worked in that made Nemesis) was set in Paris, France, and by the time the Raccoon City Outbreak had started, Luis had already fled Umbrella and presumably ended up in Valdelobos (sure there’s a CHANCE he might’ve floated around Europe for a while but?? He describes his time spent working on the Plagas as having been ‘years’ so I’m assuming he went straight to Valdelobos)
The timeline gets kinda wonky with Luis- he would’ve roughly been 22 when he fled umbrella, and it would’ve been anywhere between a couple months to a year before the RC Outbreak, and which meant he spent five or six years trapped by Los Illuminados give or take???? Which makes how he got a degree, went to college, got a job at Umbrella and spent enough time there to become one of their head scientists really funny to imagine when you remember he was only 21/22 when he fled HDBSHDNSJS like damn that man is a CHILD PRODIGY!!!! ((It also makes it DEVASTATING to imagine how he found out about Raccoon City one way or another but HEY I SAID NOTHING))
But if you’re talking in an AU or personality wise???? That’s a WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY IM CHOMPING AT THE BIT FOR
Honestly I don’t think it’d be TOOOO different to their actual dynamic, just that they were both a lot younger and had a lot more maturing to do!!!! Again we don’t really know what kind of a person Luis was when he was younger other than that he was SUPER ambitious (which makes sense), probably a little more floaty/cocky (I don’t think he was lying about being a ladies man HXNSSJHD) overly curious and just generally really well-liked by his peers!! Like he considered them his family so I imagine he was probably just a more roughhouse version of the Luis we know him as now. We also don’t know how much of the Nemesis project Luis was aware of- given his upbringing I HIGHLY doubt Luis would go into umbrella knowing full well the scope of what they’re doing but I think it’s unrealistic to say he had malicious intent the entire time!!!
But adding onto that I think his guilt would be a LOT more apparent and repressed at the same time. Like when we see him in RE4R he’s already at a point where he’ll throw himself into the fire to fix his mistakes so can you IMAGINE what it must’ve been like when he was FRESH out of said mistakes????? Would he have tried to pretend they never happened??? Would it manifest as being destructive??? Who knows!!!!!! But I know for a fact Leon’s presence would DEFINITELY throw him for a loop HDBEHENDJD
Leon in RE2 is just PAINFULLY good at heart. Like we all know this you don’t need me to repeat it HXBSHSNS all he wants from the very start is to help anyone and everyone he can, and I think that would extend to Luis too. He’s obviously a lot more trusting too (like blah bla everyone get your jokes abt him believing that Ada was an FBI agent out of the way) so I don’t think he’d have AS strong of a grudge against Luis as he does in the remake. Sure I think he’d be WARY of him but if Luis was as honest and open as he is in re4r (even with a little prodding) which I think he definitely would be, ESPECIALLY cuz of, Y’know, waves hands, the debilitating guilt BXNSHNSJS Leon wouldn’t have a hard time trusting him in the end
What ID be SUPER INTERESTED IN is what would happen AFTER RC!!!! Would Leon try to protect Luis from the law???? Would Luis follow in Leon’s footsteps and be a government agent???? Would they both run away to Valdelobos and BOTH get stuck?????????
TLDR FOR THIS ACCIDENTALLY REALLY LONG POST AHWNWHWNDUDJSK I don’t think it’d be much different!!!!!!! They’d just have more maturing to do, which I think is weirdly beautiful!!!!!! Leon is still rather naive and optimistic and overly trusting and Luis is still wild and ambitious and overly curious about the world around him!!!!!! They’re good people at heart and I think their lives would’ve been a whole lot different if they’d just met at a different time and a different place

a lot of people tend to think leon is constantly very angry with, or at least frustrated by ada, on account of her lies and manipulation, and while i do believe that feeling of his applies to all of their interactions of re2, i believe this frustration is not that present post re2, and it is in fact is because so many players project their own anger, frustration and even hatred of ada onto leon in the later games, as the more time he spends as a government agent, the more he understands ada and the world she comes from.
leons core tenet is that he wants to help people, so what does he do? he becomes a police officer because he believes cops do the most good (a sentiment that shows he is wearing EXTREMELY rose colored glasses lol), and then he heads to Raccoon City, and while in RC he helps everyone he can. and he is SO good natured that the idea that ada could be lying to him is so far from his mind (NOTE: this is NOT a sign of him being the heavily infantilized man fans make him out to be, and more a sign of general ignorance of the world, as frankly, nobody besides annette has any reason to believe ada would be a spy) because the world of mercenaries and espionage are so far removed from what he believes to be his reality. this is a man who fully believed becoming a police officer was the right way to help people. (and yes im aware of his established backstory where a cop saved him when the rest of his family died due to some crime. this still doesnt make being a cop the right thing to do.)
and so ada strings him along for her own personal gain, and at the end leon learns of her deceit. and the biggest betrayal leon experiences is not from ada, its just that the confrontation scene is the 11 o'clock number for leons half of the game, thus making it stick with us longer, as we the player have also been fooled by her. but no, the biggest betrayal happens when the government decides to cover up the horrors of raccoon city and use sherry as collateral to get him to work for them. and, unfortunately, this is only shown for a few minutes in resident evil darkside chronicles and in the epilogue screens of the original resident evil 3 (re 4 remake might add more to this, but that game hasnt come out as of yet, but heres hoping lol), so we dont fully get to see how he reacted to that outside of these moments and a few other passing thoughts in the series.
but!!! leons entire worldview crumbles after the events of 2, and the next time leon and ada meet in 4, he is wise to the world, and he has seen firsthand the atrocities the united states government is willing to commit under the guise of helping people. and people like ada, people who lie and manipulate and work for evil, greedy organizations (well intentioned or not) are now everywhere. theyre a dime a dozen. they are annette. they are luis. they are krauser. they were his recruiter. they are his boss. they are the president. they are the entire government he was so excited to work for.
ada just has the benefit of being his first introduction to these kinds of people
to be clear, im not saying leon is suddenly okay with her half-truths, but i am saying after he is forced to work for the government, he understands her, or at least, understands people like her, so much more so he knows exactly what to expect. just not when to expect it.

Ok so we know that only ghouls can really break one another's skin, and that kinetic forces like gravity ((eg. Rize getting crushed with heavy metal bars)) and presumably high-speed impacts can injure a ghoul, but do you think anything else can?? I personally think fire would burn them about the same as it would a human, but they'd naturally heal faster. What do you think??
I WILL NEVER STOP BEING MAD ABOUT HOW BADLY GHOUL INVULNERABILITY WAS EXPLAINED FUCK THAT NOISE ITS MY CANNON NOW
So ghouls are known for their impenetrable skin, but it operates on more of a sliding scale depending on rc count, health, and even how prepared they are for battle. The information that ghouls can never have their skin pierced with normal blades is actually a statistical error. Kakujas Uta who is constantly fending off knives is an outlier who should not have been counted
To begin with, how does the ghoul’s skin block out damage? The reason ghouls skin is “impenetrable” is actually due to the subdermal protective layer. There is a thin layer of very thick rc tissue beneath the surface layers of skin that covers almost the entire body except for areas close to the belly button or membranes such as the lips, nose, eyelids, and genital area. Aside from these small weak spots, the rc layer underneath can protect from a lot of materials
Rc levels and preparedness decide how strong this is. A ghoul with high rc will fill out this entire layer with solid rc cells, giving full protection, but a ghoul with low rc may have a thinner layer or not enough cells to fill the entire space, leaving openings. Then whether or not they know a blow is coming decides when it hardens. If a ghoul’s brain registers an attack coming, it will send rc cells to the area in the subdermal layer where it thinks the attack will hit, and causes them to make bonds and harden, preventing their enemy from breaking past more than a layer or two of skin. A ghoul with high enough rc that it never needs to circulate the extra cell in this layer may not need to be prepared since there’s already enough there and already hardened, so depending on the ghoul, taking them by surprise may or may not allow you the pierce their skin
Some ghouls have health conditions that make them vulnerable. Things such as RC undersecretion or starvation will leave them with little to no rc to use, massive injuries will take away rc for healing, and rc disorders that effect their flow or connectivity can seriously affect their ability to protect themselves. It is also more common for Ukaku ghouls to have weak subdermal layers due to how many have rc connection disorders, as well as brittle kagune when it hardens, so ghouls such as Ayato and Touka will have little to no protection
Hardened rc is a very strong material, which is why often it’s the only thing that can pierce ghoul skin in a fight. However it isn’t the only material that works. Things with extremely thin edges such as obsidian and glass can sometimes break through the layer with enough force and have historically been used to combat ghouls in some places, but are not used anymore due to their fragility. Bullets and blunt force trauma can sometimes break through if the ghoul is weaker or unprepared but for the most point just cause internal damage or fractures. Rc based weapons are the only reliable way to fight them, and a lot cheaper than teaching new employees how to locate weak spots, so it’s all the CCG uses
As for chemical agents and reactions, ghouls are just as vulnerable as humans. Protective layers don’t change the fact that fire burns or corrosive materials break things down, and exposure to it is still dangerous to them. In all, the ghoul skin resistance is massively overstated by the CCG to cause more fear of ghouls. Most of them don’t have that much unless they’re completely prepared

Why are people asking for a romance between Agent Wolf and Amber? 🥴 She's literally in High School and he must be in his late thirties????

I'm bored so let me relay the timeline of the agencies in which Leon has been in bc i've been seeing some confusion regarding when Leon was recruited by the DSO and stuff.
♡ 1998 (1 night) - RPD
♡ following the RC incident, Leon was "offered" a job as an agent for the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) until 2011
♡ In addition, in Resident Evil 4 he is said to have joined a "secret military service" or "secret security service", not to be confused with the Secret Service. The service was referred to as the Anti-Umbrella Pursuit and Investigation Team which specializes on countering the threat of rising bioweapon numbers. It was later shut down in 2011 following Umbrella's collapse.
♡ following his inauguration for presidency, late President Adam Benford established the Division of Security Operations (DSO) in 2011 with Leon being one of the founding members of the organization.
If I missed something, please let me know eidbdhd. hope this helped a bit (if it even does💀).

I love your gif on Carmen and the time where she was going through some stuff, so sad to see poor Carmen go through that 😭
I feel like that’s how she would be in Argentina:
she regains her memories, goes to Argentina, meets her mom right
Then I feel like once everything starts to slow down and stuff… she’d start having these nightmares on losing Gray.
She’d have these times where’d she wake up because she’d dream about what could of have happened or like what did happen (like on constant replay).
(Maybeeee she decides to go see him again 👀)
Some ❤️‍🩹 rc thoughts!! What do you think?
~~ @redxcrackle ~~
Rxc...I think sabor a mi is literally a great fic because of this ♡ did so much for RC 🙏 and they adressed that nicely imo
+ this is one of the many reasons I'm opposed to their current rift staying longer than like...a year... at max.because carmen canonically...sucks at not letting this stuff surface. And gray was already on her "a mild reminder of his fate will make her :( " and that was just when the fate was *chose different paths*
And now??? When she explicitly stated what she wants for him and that SHE almost took that? No way she's not torn up about it and she definitely needs to actually...like talk to him or her mom about it
+ because there's also What she said to him too 👀
+ but she does like going on at least a little ahead like she's ok for duty/can keep going about because thats how she rolls but she's gonna get the nightmares bad tbh
+ I just ☹that she called a dirty little traitor when he finally stuck up for whats right at the cost of...nearly everything and just petty spaghettid him crackle because she was hurt, so thats like definitely not escaping her
+ her conditions for staying away the first time around were if being with carmen was more dangerous than being away from her and almost killing him as a VILE agent uhhh. Counts as dangerous to be around her. And might seem to her that he doesn't want to see her for that alone :(
+ so yeah her mom may be one of the better bets for the idea that she can't keep all that bottled up at such a cost even its a slower pace towards being unable to escape that maybe its digging under her skin more than she initially let it because of her busy living pace
+ because her mom might actually try to interrupt a nightmare
So yeah that sounds a pretty decent setup :( sad but I get it

Just had a realization after rewatching a gameplay of re4r and it made me appreciate Leon's character more. It makes sense how Ashley reacts the way she does--afraid, sometimes gets in the way). I mean, she's a 20 yr old college student, right? BUT!!! Leon was practically Ashley's age in RC and he handled himself quite well. If Ashley's still a baby in re4r, then so was Leon in re2r. No wonder Ada was impressed by him...them mental fortitude and skillz coming from a 21 yr old cutie rookie
Then he only got better in re4r... I wonder what kinds of spicy thoughts Ada's having during their reunion fight foreplay scene
we forget that we saw a 21 year old leon in re2r and now a 20 year old ashley in re4r. they are completely different maturity wise! leon was YEARS ahead in terms of capabilities imo, even if he was a bit naive, but to be fair, if someone said they were fbi, i'd be like oh shit damn okay uhh
it's also the way leon treats ashley as kid and knows what he was like then. he aged so much between re2r and re4r, and the additional trauma i think aged him as well. even beyond his years.
ashley is 100% a baby in re4fr, her "THIS SUCCCCKS," was ADORABLE!!! i think she was the most relatable in re4r! but she also had more capacity to try and save herself for her little side quest. even if it was a little silly hehe. i do think she was adorable, and her admiration for leon is totally understandable! but it's also leon's personality to shut it down. he's in a different mindset now, he's not a 20 something who's figuring out his life. he's a government agent who was blackmailed into working for them.
ada was impressed because he was able to mostly take care of himself. but she did step in each time he was almost about to die lol
i think ada was impressed with how much stronger he got. meaner... it's sexy! lmao
but i can 100% see this leading up to damnation

children.
- Zero sympathy for Red Circus. For one thing, I'm not going to believe the story simply because he said it -- in storytelling, all spoken words are ultimately unreliable narrator, as they are the opinions of the speaker and not objective truth ("objective truth" for the story). Also, his past does not justify killing the innocent. I can't pity someone who kills bystanders, especially children, no matter how just he believes his own cause to be. You don't get to use your pain as an excuse to murder the innocent.
- Even worse, remember the SSS agent that said some of the Red Circus' comrades are dead. It is entirely possible that RC guy knows this, and is going to use this as an excuse to kill some of or all of the children. He would see this as ultimate revenge -- he loses his child, high up officials lose theirs. In other words, this guy likely lied to the children about letting them go.
Well, if Endo makes the Red Circus a reference to the RAF, then there was the "first generation" - peaceful students who were arrested after the protests and died in prison, and the "second generation" - more radical, and therefore did less sympathy from population
RAF? Royal Air Force??
Although yea i was thinking somewhere along your lines! Peaceful protesters made to turn violent, attracting more violent ppl to join (ie. Second gen)
Red Army Faction/Rote Armee Fraktion.

just realised i only have my re verses up on the carrd section but i actually have dc & marvel adjacent verses too! here's a general run down for both until i remember to add them ( 💀 ):
DC - based right in between r.ev2 and r.e6 ( late 2011 to mid 2013 ), literally disappears from the face of earth... or at least so it seems. following the intel gathered on sejm about neil's plans, on her return from the island claire raids his old office before clean up, finding emails of her former lover / boss containing plans for new outbreaks and acquisitions of new viruses through the black market channels. one particular email leads her all the way to gotham, so claire takes it upon herself to clean all the rotten from the ngo she helped to build up.
MARVEL - this doesn't have a specific timeline as claire is based between new york & washington dc all the time, however depending on the year she might either be a paramedic ( late 1999 to early 2005 more or less ) working hard to get custody of sherry OR a terrasave agent ( late 2005 to present ) who is usually involved with providing aid after combat just the way she does in re universe already.
N.B. as you've probably noticed none of these verses leave out claire's canon lore - that's because fortunately in re universe the world didn't end after rc and there's always something coming up for better or worse.
