I’m gonna be honest but in many diff cases i don’t like how Mattel pretty much shoved Darabella at the end together because i think their relationship being build mainly because of their story just defeats the whole point of eah?

I already don’t like it because of the fact it’s literally a “i can fix him” trope where Rosabella is Mothering daring throughout the whole damn special it just feels weird and i would have liked them in a more platonic matter.

I also dislike the fact they pushed the “Daring is selfish” agenda and basically erase all his character development simply to give Rosabella a chance at “fixing him” i liked the relationship at first simply because they were canon, i never give a fuck about them or even bothered to watch all of their scenes together.

Eventually i did and it just feels so WRONG! Them being shoved together because of destiny and them being a “i can fix him” trope is absolutely horrid! I also dislike how only daring really learned smt while rosabella just didn’t, If y’all wanna shove them together at least let it be where Rosabella also learns from daring so it can be, idk? MUTUAL!

(God it’s like people forget a relationship has to be mutual sometimes)

Add to the Fact Rosabella individually does not have much so it makes me incapable of liking this ship.

this may sound a bit like a convoluted theory, but i don't think darling was originally apple's princess charming. and i don't mean i don't think the writers originally planned it — i mean, i think that in-universe darling was not supposed to be the one who saved apple.

i do think that daring was actually apple's original prince. however, when raven decided to give everyone their page rather than having them sign it, they gained the ability to change their stories without even trying or knowing they were doing so.

apple is a lesbian, and so with her newfound freedom, her story automatically rewired itself into having a woman be her true love rather than a man. same with daring — instead of saving apple, his destiny was then changed to be with rosabella, someone who he could genuinely fall in love with.

essentially, i'm saying there's two types of love in ever after: the romances that come with your destiny (apple & daring) and a soulmate relationship that only comes into existence when you take your destiny into your own hands (apple & darling, ashlynn & hunter, daring & rosabella).

The Rose-Beauty Twins

There is no such thing as bad genes in the Rose-Beauty family. Both Briar and Rosabella can say with confidence ‘my mom’s cooler than yours’.

Damascena and Delilah Rose-Beauty are twin sisters with opposite personalities, both attending Ever After the generation before the show takes place. One can definitely fix him, while the other just got kicked out of the library 🤭 if you manage to catch the eye of either of these feisty ladies, it should be an immediate A+ in Advanced Wooing as that’s not an easy feat.

If you’re looking for a good time (or to get stoned behind the school), Damascena Rose is your best bet. She’s easy to find as she carries a boombox around wherever she goes, both to hype up whoever, whenever, but also to help keep herself awake. She is the party animal of her class; it’s no question where Briar gets it from. Damascena is a known flirt and likes to play around whenever possible, but it’s all in fun. After all, her true love isn’t coming for another century…right? (Not true, she falls head over heels for star dragon-slayer Valor Prince Charming, but that’s an entirely different story). Much to everyone’s surprise, Damascena actually wants to settle down and raise a large family, but she needs someone with enough spunk to keep up with her active lifestyle.

If you’re looking for someone a bit more studious, Delilah Rose is a hexcellent choice of companion. She’s intelligent, well-read, and a defender of justice wherever she goes. You can usually find her in the library, or spitting fire across the table in debate. Where Delilah is less likely to jump into a relationship than her twin, she has a very…bad…taste in men, something she and her daughter Rosabella share. She likes the bad-boys and the rebels; those guys who are ‘no good’ for anyone else. But, like her sister, Delilah isn’t looking for serious love either. She’s more likely to sit you down to address your past trauma or poor grades than for an actual date. (Delilah finds love too with Valor’s estranged beast of a brother, Warren, making Briar and Rosabella double-cousins). Delilah is opposite her sister in the family department; she worries about not being a good mother, and prefers the company of books rather than people.

Random Headcanons and Facts:

- Damascena and Faelyn Thorn (Faybelle’s mom) are incredibly close friends.

- Delilah is two minutes older than her twin, making her the ‘big’ sister. This is why she has the favored of their two destinies.

- Delilah is on the debate team, while Damascena helps run Ever After’s radio station and newspaper. (Damascena also does music for school events like dances and mixers)

- Absolutely no one expected Damascena and Valor to hook up. Many thought Valor was actually Snow White’s destined true love.

- Delilah and Damascena are roommates (not by choice) and they hate every second of it despite living in the same room at home.

- Damascena and her mom don’t get along due to differences regarding the outcome of the Sleeping Beauty legacy. She’s not close with her dad either for the same reason.

- Contrary-wise, Delilah is very close to her mom and dad and is the ‘favorite child’, as she’s looking forward to her story playing out.

tbh I feel like I haven’t rlly seen a lot of ppl talk abt how Daring’s character assassination also negatively affected Rosabella? Because we all know that Daring was done dirty, and that he was not the selfish baby epic winter made him out to be. Just going based off of the Netflix show (bcuz I haven’t read most of the books and we barely even see rosabella in the webisodes) we see Daring act selflessly. We see him care about people other than himself. Yes we see his flaws, but we know enough about him to not absolutely hate him.

Rosabella does not get that.

So her whole thing in epic winter where she tries to fix Daring just makes her seem like a jerk. Instead of the caring girl who wants to help people become better, she becomes a girl who can’t accept that people are flawed. She becomes a girl obsessed with fixing Daring, when really he just needed a bit of a wake up call. He wasn’t selfish, he was self absorbed. Yes he had flaws to work through, but his previous characterization was not bad enough for his entire arc to just be Rosabella fixing him.

I also feel like it took away from Rosabella’s chance to be a fully fleshed out character, to me she just feels like a plot device to fix Daring, when she could be so much more! (I have ideas for Rosabella’s character, but that’s for another time…)

This also reflects badly on Darabella as a ship. Instead of two characters who helped each other grow and in the process fell in love, it became “perfect girl fixed man baby and then he fell in love w/ her”
