I’m such a sucker for emotional movies, so the rise movie has to be my favourite tmnt movie. I could watch this movie on repeat due to how evil the krang are, leaving a sinking into your gut type of feeling and the arc of Leo realizing it’s not about him and that they have to work together as a family. I really like Leo’s character development and how his nonchalant attitude is thrown out the window and he is forced to be the leader he blatantly tried to ignore having to come to his senses about how much is at stake.

Krang Raph was such a shock to see, I wish the movie delved more into his psyche and how much control he had in that state. What physically pains me the most in the movie is Leo mirrored Raph’s self-sacrificial attitude by going into the prison dimension. The line “You’re one to talk big guy” must’ve haunted him for awhile, at least until I’m sure doctor feelings got involved. The whole future apocalypse and present timelines mirroring one another in some ways was so devastating, really putting into perspective destruction, death and doing things for the greater good were inevitable in this movie but also helps show if you have hope and family by your side, anything can be unstoppable.

A close second after that would be tied between the Bayverse movies and Mutant Mayhem. Although in the fandom there is mixed feelings about Bayverse, I find them fun to watch like you’re in it for a feel good time. For Mutant Mayhem, I love how they are the most teenager like, the modern feels to it, the jokes and how strong the theme of acceptance is in this movie on top of the stunning animation.
