Audhd people of tumblr, here's one way that might help you learn something for school:

Try to relate it to your special interest.

That might sound like, yeah duh, but it's very helpful to do it conciously.

Even if it's a stretch as long as from the earth to the sun, it might help. Even just a little is helpful in school, when motivation is a finite resource you need to manage throughout the day.

Example: you need to memorise for example the scientific names of vitamins in biology or chemistry, well, there are some vitamins that snakes can't tolerate. Snakes are my special interest so I can relate it to that. (Bad example cause that one's super specific but I hope you get the point)

Why can’t we go back to old fashioned paper assignments ??

I like having the option of staying up all night to do work. I work best late at night. Or, having before class the next day to work on it?? Working on it in the morning??

The 11:59 deadline is the most stressful thing ever. Gives me less time to turn in quality work and I end up just bullshitting it so I have something to turn in.

AND THEN because it’s online submission, you get lucky if it even submits when you hit the button. For example I started trying to submit this essay ten minutes before the deadline, cause I know my wifi is slow, and I’ve adjusted for that. Usually this adjustment means my essay will be in by 11:57. On time.

But god forbid I run into an error. Of course, my computer decided to try and tell me my Google drive was completely empty, despite me actively working on my essay in Google docs. What??

I was unable to fix this issue and had to find another way to submit. My essay is now late. I’m gonna lose like 15 points because I turned it in at 12:03 instead of 11:59. Even if I explain the issue to the teacher. Even if I tell her I tried to turn it in early. It doesn’t matter, cause online submission means I have down to the millisecond to get it in, and it’s my fault if I can’t do that.

Anyway, school is a scam. Esp now that it’s all online.

The way the teacher's all just said good luck knowing we haven't had a proper lecture because of the temperature.

okay so, i ride the bus to get to school, and from school. and EVERY SINGLE TIME I RIDE THAT NINTH CIRCLE OF HELL TURNED INTO A VEHICLE, I LOSE BRAINCELLS AND I LOSE MY SANITY, BIT BY BIT.

THERE ARE:

THE LITTLE KIDS THAT ACT LIKE CHATTERING BABBOONS AND WILL NOT SHUT UP

THE OLDER KIDS THAT SCREECH THEIR HEADS OFF LIKE THE WORLD IS GOING TO END EVERY TIME THE BUS GOES OVER A SPEED BUMP, NO MATTER HOW BUMP THAT SPEED BUMP IS

THE BUS DRIVER WHO HAS A FIFTY PERCENT CHANCE TO PLAY OBNOXIOUS POP MUSIC ON THE RADIO AND TURN THE VOLUME UP TO THE POINT WHERE IT’S BLASTING THROUGH THE ENTIRE BUS, AND IF THAT HAPPENS, THERE’S A FIFTY PERCENT CHANCE THAT THE MUSIC WILL BE SEXUALLY EXPLICIT, AND IF THE MUSIC PLAYS AT ALL, THERE’S GOING TO BE KIDS WHO SING ALONG WAY TOO LOUDLY TO IT

love when I don’t understand an English assessment (actually it’s not an assessment, we don’t even get a grade on it, idk why we’re even doing it)l and I don’t understand it at all because it’s not explained at all, and then I have a huge problem with asking people for help, so even when the teacher asks how I’m doing I say I’m doing fine,and I’ll lie and say I’m nearly finished when I haven’t even started it, and now I have less than half an hour before it’s due, and I literally can’t sit still because of how stressed I am about having to say I haven’t done it. (we’re meant to be doing a validation on the ‘assessment’, which I can’t do because I haven’t done the assessment)

Why the f*ck do websites and articles not have any kind of summary of their subjects?

I'm trying to research some stuff about Otto III for a presentation in school but everywhere I read, I only find texts that are basically complete bibles that, at the end, say as much as two sentences. I don't have the attention span or memory for that kind of reading. Why does no one summarize their content for those who don't have time or the attention to read that much. It just gets frustrating. You sit down, fairly confident in your ability to research stuff. But within like, the first two f*cking minutes, you already want to throw everything against the wall because the f*cking articles won't get straight to their f*cking point. Also, there's almost no sufficient cathegories to search by.

Not even Wikipedia has sufficient cathegories to search by. I have to condense all of Otto III's most important achiements into one minute, as I only have 5 minutes for Otto I, Otto II, Otto III and Heinrich II, plus introduction and a small background check for the situation before them.

All I want is for websites like wikipedia and other text based websites to put a little tl;dr on the bottom of each major part of the text
