Threefold Death, a trifecta of feeling your skin cool, your blood freeze and your bones chill. A watch in his hand. A bullet under her fingers. A star pressed against his palm. Mind wanders away from his body as it cools in the tub, ice melting. It reminded him of before, the hotel parking lot, the three of them, the flare in his hand, his heart tired. They could have died then and they were dying now.

Scott McCall Week 2023: Day 1, you’re an omega

Scott’s thumb brushes over the tip of his key to the animal clinic, the pointy edges dig into his skin but there’s no pain, not like there was before. Before he got bit, before his life became so complicated even he has trouble understanding it all at times, before he almost died, over, and over, and over again.

He hates that things have changed so drastically. He doesn’t know who he is anymore, no longer Scott-McCall-the-permanent-bench-warmer who had his quirky best friend by his side at all times. When his shifts at the animal clinic were simply looking over the dogs brought in by the townspeople, no knowledge about the mountain ash built into the woodwork, or about the supernatural creatures that Deaton holds so much information about.

Now it’s like he has to hide so much of himself, no matter who he’s with he can’t fully let go. There’s nobody to talk to about it all, nobody that would understand at least. He wonders if it would’ve been different if Derek had bit him, become his alpha like the ones Stiles has read about and relayed back to Scott.

Or maybe if Alison’s family weren’t hunters and he never got bit in the first place. No death threats, no hiding their relationship, then it would be different, easier. He could be a normal teenager with a normal girlfriend. No worry about what being bit by a degraded alpha does to someone. What if he becomes like his alpha? Whoever that is. It still worries him, scares him, he doesn’t want to hurt anyone, but what if it’s built into him now? A part of him now? He doesn’t know who that is either, who he is.

Scott McCall - Champion of the Galar Region

Scott started his journey to become Champion with nothing but his Chimchar, the support of Professor Deaton and his mom, and a dream. He achieved that dream in record time, becoming the youngest trainer to ever become the Champion of the Galar region. But Scott was never idle and spent his time as the reigning Champion rushing from one corner of Galar to the next, putting out problems and inspiring other trainers everywhere he went.

One of the most easily recognizable figures in the region (partly due to the motorcycle, partly due to his unusually friendly Pokémon), Scott never had a dull day. When he wasn’t signing autographs, tracking down lost children, or solving mysteries, he was being bombarded with a flurry of challenges from young trainers, impatient and eager to take his title. Scott accepted each and every challenge with a smile, even on days when all he wanted was to relax in the wilds and catch some rays with his Sunflora.

He had changed. His body no longer belonged to him and him alone. It was a shared thing, an ecosystem, something Scott had to learn to utilize. It was a weapon and a tool. A creature without control and yet still himself. Still sentient but with power Scott had never hard before. 15-year-olds shouldn't have this kind of power. 15-year-olds shouldn't worry about their fingernails cracking through their skin or their ears growing longer than humanly possible. 15-year-olds shouldn't be at war with the creature inside of them. They shouldn't have to worry about full moons or being shot by hunters. 15-year-olds shouldn't be subjected to this.

Sort of dark but I do think that the change of becoming something entirely new is very dark.
