Hi! I altered your request just a little bit, I hope that’s alright. If you want me to fix anything or write you something else, just let me know. I hope you enjoy it!
(Warnings: swearing, let me know if i missed anything)
“I am so bloody sick of their pranks,” Lily groaned, marching into the dorms. You put down your book, sitting up.
You gave her a sympathetic smile, patting the spot on your bed next to you for her to come sit. “What did they do this time?”
“I just finished transfiguring a few of the second year’s faces and hair back to normal. They were nearly in tears when I found them downstairs. Apparently, Remus found a way to charm jellybeans into a form of polyjuice. Their hair was as white as Dumbledore’s. How they managed to get one of his hairs, I’ll never know.”
“They played that prank on Sirius last week,” you laughed, remembering the tantrum he threw when he couldn’t fix it himself. “It took me ages to figure out how to reverse it. I have to commend Remus on his brewing ability.”
Lily groaned, clearly not sharing your idea of humor on the matter. “I’m a prefect, you know. I can’t always turn a blind eye.”
“Who’s idea was it to use the jellybeans? I thought Remus just used it to get back at Sirius for nicking his chocolate stash.”
“I managed to crack James,” she said, rolling her eyes. “Apparently, it was meant for the Slytherins. There was some kind of mixup, and the second years got a hold of them before they could stop it.”
“Morons,” you mused, shaking your head.
“We need to get them back. They’ve gotten a little out of hand lately, and I don’t fancy being the subject of their next joke.”
You grinned, rubbing your hands together. “What do you have in mind? I’ve got plenty of ideas personally, but I’m open to yours.”
“Think about pranking your boyfriend often?” She asked grinning, her brow raised.
“You think I’m safe just because I’m dating him?” You asked, chuckling. “Even I am not immune to his little games. It pays to be one step ahead.”
Lily sighed, taking your hand in hers. “We’ll have to just come up with something good, then. It’s the full moon in two days, you know.”
“What does that have to do with anything?” You asked, turning your body to face her. “Remus will be preoccupied all day, I assume the boys will be as well. You know how he gets the day before, they’ll probably stick to the dorms so he doesn’t have to exert himself much.”
“Exactly.”
You furrowed your brows in confusion. “What’s your plan?”
You knew that Remus was a werewolf, as did Lily.
It didn’t take long for either of you to figure it out, and Remus reluctantly told you the truth when you confronted him about it and promised you would never tell. You had even offered to swear an Unbreakable Vow, but he declined. You resigned to letting the boys fill you in on what happened when Remus would return to their dorms, knowing they’d be the ones he turned to if he needed someone.
Lily knew that you were an Animagus, too.
She was the one you came to when you began training for it. Each month when Remus would return from the hospital wing, you’d cringe at the sight of his fresh scars. You wondered if there was a way you could help him, beyond brewing Essence of Dittany and visiting him the morning after. There had to be a way you could help him each transformation, something you could do in the moment, and not after. The thought led you to your training, which you eventually had to confide in Lily about so that she could help you.
Surprisingly, she was very helpful about it. She did scold you, and berate you about how dangerous and not to mention illegal it was. But she wanted to help Remus, too, so she agreed to help you.
What you didn’t know was that the boys beat you to the idea. They had already begun accompanying Remus on full moons, a fact that Lily discovered for herself. She was just that clever, putting together the pieces before anyone else.
The nicknames they openly called themselves may have had something to do with that.
The boys becoming Animagi probably eased her reaction when she discovered you were also training to become one. She had by then done some research on the topic herself, helping you with the final stages.
Together, you finished the trials, and you finally took the form of a wolf. Ironic, considering what had inspired you to begin training in the first place. You had yet to follow Remus to the Shrieking Shack on a full moon, figuring going alone probably wasn’t the best idea. You hadn’t quite figured out how to tell him or your friends about it, figuring they would think the idea was insane.
It was a wonder they had somehow managed to hide the fact from you that they had already done it themselves. You’d figure it out later, and have the opportunity to scold your friends and your boyfriend for not including you.
But for now, Lily was the only one who knew the whole truth.
And she would use it to her advantage. What better way to get back at her friends would there be, than to scare the shit out of them in their own dorm?
“I have a plan,” she smirked, giving you an uneasy feeling. “Not on the full moon, of course. I’m not reckless in the way they have been recently. But if they have a wolf, I think it’s time we use ours.”
Your eyes widened at her words, and you shook your head. “Are you mad? You want me to show the boys that I can turn into a wolf at will? Don’t you think they’ll wonder where I learned how to do that?”
“Oh, come on. There’s no harm in it. They won’t tell anyone, I promise. I wouldn’t suggest it if I thought they would react badly. Trust me on this.”
“Are you sure?” You sighed, your voice less than confident. “I’m not so sure Sirius will fancy the idea of his girlfriend turning into a giant beast.”
Lily grinned, disagreeing. “I have a feeling he’ll be very open to the idea. You practically have him on a leash. Where you go, he follows. It’ll be fine.”
You missed how she tried not to laugh at her own joke, and you stood, finally agreeing.
“Alright! How do we do this? Alone, right? I’d prefer scaring the shit out of them without other people seeing.”
“Tomorrow night, just after dinner starts. We go eat, and hurry back here before them. We’ll say you aren’t feeling well or something, and tell Sirius you’ll wait for him in his room. Their dorm will be empty, I’ll make sure of it, and they’ll be the only ones coming back so early. You sneak in and wait for them, I’ll come down and make a big fuss. They’ll rush up, and you scare them. Easy enough, right?”
You looked at her warily, both impressed and terrified by her plan. “You’re fucking scary, you know that? I’d hate to see what you and those idiots could come up with if you put your mind to it. It’s a good thing you don’t ever join them.”
“Never have, and I never will,” she mused, grinning at you. “But I’ll join you. It’s about time they got a taste of their own medicine.”
The next evening, as planned, you excused yourself from dinner. You made sure Remus’s plate was loaded up so that he ate enough to keep his strength up, and then you stood, pressing a kiss to the top of Sirius’s head.
“I think I’m gonna go lie down a bit,” you said, smoothing your hand over his hair.
Sirius turned around, looking concerned. “Are you alright, love?”
You smiled, reassuring him. “I’m fine. Just a little tired. Mind if I lay down in your dorm for a bit? Some of the girls are in mine and they’re always quite loud after dinner.”
He nodded, running a comforting hand up and down your arm. “Of course, darling. Do you want me to come up with you?”
Your eyes softened as you looked down at him, almost regretting the prank you were about to pull. But as your eyes met Lily’s, she reminded you of the plan, and you shook off the feeling.
“No, it’s fine, stay and eat,” you said, squeezing his shoulder. “Lily, would you mind coming with me, though? I wanted to ask about the Potions lesson today, I think I missed some of the notes.”
Lily nodded, standing up. “I’m finished anyways. Come along, darling.”
She linked her arm with yours, leading you away from the table and out of the Great Hall. As soon as you were out of sight, you snickered together, rushing for the dorms.
“Get up there quickly,” she said, ushering you through the portrait entrance. “Sirius seems rather worried about you, the lovesick git. He chooses now to be a good boyfriend?”
“He‘s always a good boyfriend,” you laughed, heading up the stairs to the boys dorm.
“Yes,” she agreed, playfully rolling her eyes. “It’s sickening at times. Now hurry up, before he decides to come back and do something sweet and ruin it all.”
You nodded, quickly pushing open the door to the boys dorm, closing the door behind Lily. You looked around the room once you both were in, and Lily’s eyes widened in shock.
“Merlin, they’re messy,” Lily gasped, bending down to pick up stray items of clothing and pieces of parchment.
You snickered as she tried to clean. “I’d be careful what you touch, love. You don't know where all this shit has been.”
She grimaced, quickly dropping everything in her hands. She took her wand out of her pocket, casting a cleaning spell. You watched as everything on the floor hovered in the air, before categorizing itself either onto a bed, bag, or in the bin.
“I casted a listening charm in the common room, we’ll be able to hear when they come in.”
“I’d probably be able to hear it, anyways. Wolf hearing and all,” you thought out loud.
Lily nodded, turning to you. “Alright, let’s see it. Do your thing.”
“Where do you want me?”
Lily thought a moment, before shrugging. “It doesn’t matter, I don’t think. A wolf in any part of their room will freak them out…although maybe you should sit on James’s bed. Something tells me he’d scream the loudest.”
You laughed, nodding. “See you in a bit, then.”
Without another word, you shifted into your wolf form, now on four legs. You stood tall, bowing to stretch as you got used to being in this form.
Lily nearly gasped when you finished, looking at you with wide eyes. “I nearly forgot how big you are like that. Of course you’re black, too. You match your boyfriend. Why am I surprised?”
You huffed, jumping up on Sirius’s bed. You sat on the edge of it, laying down. Lily came over to stand next to you, running a hand along the fur on your spine.
“You really are scary, you know. I think James is going to cry.”
You wished you could laugh, turning to nuzzle your head into her hand. Suddenly, Lily perked up, heading to the door.
“They’re coming! Get down, stand right here behind the door. I’ll corral them all in here, and shut the door so they can’t get out. Do try to not get hexed, I’ll do my best to make sure that doesn’t happen. Be right back!”
She opened the door, feigning terror. She let out a scream, bounding down the stairs.
“James!” You could hear her call. “Sirius, Remus! Someone help!”
“What is it?” A unison of voices said, and then there were footsteps bounding up the stairs.
You took the sound as your cue to hide, stepping behind the door so you couldn’t be seen at first. The door was pushed open, and one by one, the boys filed in. They all stopped in their tracks, looking at each other confused. Lily closed the door behind them, standing against it so they couldn’t leave.
“Lily, there’s nothing in he—“
Remus was cut off by a low growl, and the boys turned to see you stalk closer to them from the side of the room. James let out a yelp, clambering to climb up onto his bed.
“What the fuck?” James screamed, nearly shaking on the bed. “It’s humongous.”
“Is that…that’s a…it’s a…,” Sirius stuttered, before Remus grabbed his shoulder, pulling him behind him.
“A wolf.”
“A werewolf or a wolf wolf?” James asked, and Sirius scoffed from behind Remus.
“Don’t be daft, James. Werewolves can’t just turn at will, not like this. And it’s not a full moon yet.”
“That’s not what I look like is it?” Remus asked, looking down at you cautiously.
“Where’s Y/N?” Sirius asked, frantically looking around. “Wasn’t she up here with you?”
You had yet to move, looking between your friends. From the door, Lily was trying to hide her snickers. You huffed out a breath, taking a slow step forward. All three boys let out a squeal, stepping back.
Lily rolled her eyes, taking a step towards you. “Not very brave, for a bunch of Gryffindors.”
“Lily, no!” James yelled, jumping down from the bed. You let out a growl at him, making him hesitate. He tried to step forward again, but Sirius held an arm out across his chest, holding him back.
“Sirius!” James argued, but Sirius wouldn’t relent.
“Just wait!” Sirius said, looking at you with curious eyes. “Evans…keep going.”
Lily nodded, slowly approaching you with an extended hand. You feigned interest, sniffing her hand. After a minute, you nuzzled her hand with your snout. She let out a giggle, running her hand through your hair, reaching up to scratch behind your ears.
“Is Lily petting a fucking wolf?” Remus asked, looking back at his friends. “Am I going mad?”
“If you’re mad, then I’m batshit crazy for this,” Sirius said, slowly approaching you. “Please don’t bite me, please don’t bite me…”
His voice trailed off as he crouched down in front of you, letting you sniff his hand. He avoided your gaze, his hand slightly shaking with fear. You decided you had stalled long enough, flexing your paws. Suddenly, you leaped, landing on Sirius and knocking him to the ground. You pinned him to the floor under you, hovering your face just above his.
“Fuck!” Remus said, reaching for his wand.
James had already drawn his, moving to stun you, when Lily stood in between you and them to block you.
“Don’t!” She said, drawing her own wand. “Don’t hurt it.”
“Are you mad? It’s on top of Sirius right now, move,” Remus said, trying to reach around her. “Lily, this isn’t funny.”
“If we aren’t going to do something about it ourselves, then we need help. I’m going to get a professor,” James said, headed for the door.
“No need, boys,” Sirius called up from the floor. “I think I’ve got it handled.”
Lily moved out of the way to reveal Sirius on the floor, with you resting flat against his chest. The boys looked at him stunned, and Sirius was reluctant to move under you.
“We may need a professor to help get you out,” Sirius said, smoothing a hand down your fur. “But I think it’s safe to say you aren’t going to kill me.”
Lily whistled, and you climbed off Sirius’s chest, moving to stand beside her. She gave you a look, and you took that as a sign, slowly shifting back into your regular form. You stretched once fully stood, smoothing down your clothes.
Sirius gaped up at you from the floor. “Y/N?”
“What the fuck is going on?” James asked, pushing his way out from behind Remus. “How did you do that?”
“She’s an Animagus,” Remus realized, nearly grinning. “And a wolf. Ironic, isn’t it? Should I feel flattered, Y/N? Do you love me?”
He drew out the ‘o’ in love, making you laugh. Sirius looked between the two of you with wide eyes, flustered. You cooed at him, reaching for his hand. He begrudgingly let you take it.
“I hate to disappoint you, Remus, but I’m not in love with you. I am loyal to you, though. A bit protective. I suppose that had something to do with it. I didn’t choose my form, you know. It just happened. It’s like a patronus.”
Lily let out a small gasp, smirking in realization as she looked at Sirius. “Sirius…the wolf is akin to the dog, is it not? I wonder what your thoughts are on the matter.”
James visibly paled, trying and failing to hide his shock as he put the pieces together. Lily knew. But how?
Sirius was beginning to wonder the same thing. “James, you dickhead! Why’d you tell her?”
“I didn’t tell her anything!” James exclaimed, raising his hands in surrender. “I don’t know how she knows!”
You looked between your friends with a confused look on your face, piping in. “Know what? What’s going on?”
“You figured it out, didn’t you?” Remus smirked, interrupting the bickering between the boys. “Nicely done, Evans.”
“Thank you,” she curtsied, grinning at the confused look on the rest of her friends' faces.
It was your turn to figure it out as your eyes widened in shock. “Holy shit! You’re all Animagi, too. How didn’t I figure that out sooner? It’s obvious, now that I’m thinking about it.”
“I didn’t know you were one,” James said, shrugging. “I don’t think it was that obvious.”
“That’s because you can’t keep your eyes off Lily long enough to notice much of anything,” you mused, making your friends snicker.
“Alright, I think that was a success,” Lily said, clapping her hands together. “Let’s go, boys. I’ll explain the rest.”
James and Remus nodded, heading for the door. Lily gave you a smile, following them as they filed out. You could hear her teasing James, stifling a laugh while he was still in earshot.
“That scream was truly something. How very valiant of you, James,” Lily said, smirking. “My hero.”
James groaned, the sound of his voice quieting down the further away he got. “Forgive me for not jumping into action at the sight of a fucking wolf in my room.”
You shut the door as their voices drifted away, turning back to Sirius. You narrowed your eyes at him, slapping him across the arm.
“What was that for?” He whined, clutching his arm.
“For not telling me you’re an Animagus!”
“You didn’t tell me you’re one, either,” he pouted, still rubbing at his arm.
“Don’t be a baby,” you said, rolling your eyes before bending down to place a quick kiss to the spot you hit. “I didn’t tell you because I haven’t worked up to going outside yet. You’ve all been going with Remus for months, haven’t you?”
Sirius gave you a sheepish look, nodding.
You groaned, shaking your head. “Your form is a dog, I suppose? I guess the nickname Padfoot is actually clever, then.”
“It is a dog. Ironic, I know. When did you start training?”
You thought for a moment, pondering. “A few months. Three, maybe?”
“Smart girl. It took me six,” he said, grinning. “I’m flattered, by the way.”
You furrowed your brows at his words. “Flattered?”
“Your form matches mine, you took after me since mine was established first. It isn’t because you’re loyal to a wolf, and therefore a wolf yourself. It’s because you’re loyal to me. We’re alike.”
You could feel yourself flush at his words, smiling. “So, you saw me. Do I get to see you?”
Sirius grinned, before quickly shifting into his form. You smiled as a wiry black shaggy dog appeared in front of you, with fur as unruly as Sirius’s hair could be. Padfoot was quite adorable, but also slightly terrifying. You had that in common.
You ran a hand along his fur, noting the black sheen of his coat. “We match.”
Sirius shifted back into himself, taking a seat on his bed. He held a hand out for you, pulling you to sit beside him.
“You might be cuter as a dog,” you mused.
He playfully nudged you in the ribs, shaking his head. “You’re insufferable, darling.”
“Hush,” you said, grinning at him before grabbing his hand. “You told James to stop. You let Lily approach me, having no idea whether she’d be attacked or not. Why?”
He was quiet for a moment, scanning your face as he gave you a small smile. “Your eyes.”
“What?”
“You have the same eyes as the wolf. I could see you in them.”
You smiled at him, pressing a kiss to his shoulder as you squeezed his hand. He squeezed back, letting his head rest against your shoulder.
“We’re gonna have to come up with a nickname for you," he murmured. “I suppose you’re going to want to come with us on full moons now, aren’t you?
You chuckled, nodding. “You won’t be able to stop me, love.”
A/N - Hi! I hope you enjoyed it, let me know what you think!

Too Soon With; James Potter (ATJ)
Tumblr media
A/N: Hello, again? I’m really surprised with myself. Two stories in two days, haven’t had that motivation since quarantine. I’ve been sick lately and couldn’t get this idea out of my mind. Was gonna make it short but one thing led to another and here we are. This is technically a sequel to my first James writing which you can read here, but it’s not entirely necessary. Anyways, please leave a comment or reblog if you enjoy, truly makes a huge difference. <3
Summary: The one where James is definitely not sick, and you make an acute slip up of words.
TW: None, this time around. :)
Tumblr media
“I’m here, what happened?” You practically burst into the marauders dormitory, knapsack half-zipped with textbooks and quills threatening to spill over. Remus sits atop the counter in shock, toast hanging from his mouth as he shrugs.
“The note, from, from the owl,” you attempt to catch your breath as you explain, “said there was an emergency.” Remus rolls his eyes, shooting a pointed look to Sirius who waltzes into the room, taking a moment to read your disheveled appearance. Guilt, and a hint of fear, overcomes his pleased expression at seeing you.
“Oh, sorry. That was me, we have a...Situation.” Sirius flinches as you approach him, having taken the newspaper from Remus’ hand to roll it up and whack the raven-haired boy on the head.
“I-thought-one-of-you-were-hurt!” You accentuate every piece of the sentence with another whack of the newsletter. Handing it back to a very amused Remus.
“Awe, love. You hear that Moons? She loves us, cares about us!”
“And she’s about to castrate you, what on Earth is so emergent that I’ve run all the way from the library?” You push the misplaced strands of hair from your face with an exasperated sigh.
“James is sick, some sort of respiratory thing I think, or maybe strep. Not entirely sure.” Remus explains. pulling your sack from your shoulder and organizing it’s contents. Holding up a crumpled pouch of cookies from the bottom with a disciplinary glare. You ignore his doting, despite the blush of your cheeks.
“Alright, so he should go to the infirmary.” You note simply, albeit concerned for your boyfriend.
“See, that’s the issue, love.” Sirius replies, exchanging a knowing look with Remus who shakes his head. You look between them, utterly confused until said boyfriend shuffles into the dorm, looking positively miserable.
There’s a frightening, completely out of character hunch to James’ shoulders. He enters the dormitory with a hoarse cough and small sniffle. A tuft of spare tissues peeking from his robes’ pocket. He looks up and beams at the sight of you, watery eyes, red nose and all. Absolutely pleased with your presence. “Hey, dove. What are you doing here? I thought you were doing homework with Lill’s?” He sets his things down with another cough, head quirking in confusion when you clutch your necklace, brows taught with concern.
“Oh, James.” You mutter, walking toward him to hold his head in your hands, a short intake of breath when the skin of his cheeks is scolding to the touch.
“What’s gotten into you?” He laughs, though a little hesitant as he takes your wrists in his hold, a flash of hurt slashing his kind smile when you dodge his kiss in greeting.
“You can’t. You’re ill, James.” The taller boy laughs, shaking his head with a relieved sigh.
“Dove, of course I’m not ill. Just a bit of allergies, that’s all.” You turn to look at Remus and Sirius, who echo a chorus of melodramatic groans. A clear sign they’re familiar with the boy’s stubborn denial. “I swear it! Look, look at this!” His hands slither to your underarms, lifting you into the air a couple times and gently setting you down. “Lads, this body is an absolute temple, quidditch season is about to commence and I’m in the best shape possible.” This time, you all groan, having to force your eyes to not completely swivel to the back of your skull at his blinding ego.
“James, you spent the entirety of last night coughing. You barely slept.” Remus chimes in, running a clean dish towel under cool water and passing it to you. James grabs your wrist once more, cringing away from your attempt to place it on his forehead.
“Alright, if you’re such a beacon of health, you wouldn’t mind taking a quick trip to the infirmary? This way we can all be sure?” Sirius holds back a grin at his own words. James falters, squirming past you and into the kitchen, grabbing an apple from the bowl from the counter on his way and taking a large bite. Superstitions heavy on his mind as he vehemently shakes his head.
“Absolutely not, no infirmary.”
You cross your arms, wry smile overcoming your features. “I didn’t know you were afraid of doctors, Potter.”
“Am not!” James refuses again, pouting through a mouthful of apple.
“And so it begins.” Sirius hops over the back of the couch so that he can lay down, arm draping over his eyes in exhaustion.
*******
“Just let me hold you, I’m dying.” James whines, grabbing at air. He’s an absolute mess, feverish and sweaty with juxtaposing chills. You’ve given him some of Remus’ healing potions, but they only relieve the symptoms temporarily. And, like most medicines, can only be taken in dosages.
“I’m sorry, love. You know I can’t.” It takes everything in you to ignore his requests, heart aching at his suffering. He groans, rolling over and coughing in the mess that is his sheets.
Sirius forces a gag, looking for support from Remus who only ignores his immaturity. “I almost miss when they hated each other, Rem. I mean seriously. He’s so lovesick it’s actually unbearable.”
“Eat-” James falls into a coughing fit, taking a deep breath before croaking out “slugs.”
“What was that, mate? Couldn’t hear you over the hacking up a lung.”
“Sirius, not helping.” You scold, waving the teasing boy away. “We have to compromise, James. If you won’t go to the infirmary then you’re on bed rest.” You chide, offering a soft smile when he begins to soften his hazel eyes in hopes you might give in.
“I’ll be behind in all my classes!” He tries, attempting to rise from his sheets.
“Exactly why we’ll all be taking notes for you. Make-up homework and all.” Remus adds, waving his quill in hand for emphasis. James settles as you run your hand over his shoulders, frame tense from all the coughing and shivering.
“And don’t worry, Prongs,” Sirius starts, mischief prevalent in his tone. “Y/n and I will get the group project in transfigurations started. I think we’ll make a pretty good pair in your absence.” He throws an arm over your shoulder, boisterous laugh echoing throughout the bedroom once James lunges, his smug friend shooting him a suggestive wink. You’re in front of him immediately, hands at his chest to cease his attack, rolling your eyes when Sirius jumps behind Remus to hide.
“He’s only teasing, James. Relax.”
“Not fair! This isn’t fair.” He’s a six foot something child, weak charges finally settling when you press a kiss to each one of his cheeks and then his forehead. He goes for your lips, biting his own when you shake your head. throwing himself onto the mattress in a melodramatic, slightly dazed, tantrum.
“Just leave me, the lot of you.”
“We’ll be back soon Prongs, promise.” Theres only a defeated grunt muffled by a pillow in response, the three of you slinking out of the dormitory as quietly as possible. You’re the last one headed out the door, prepared to lock it behind you when something catches your eye. Potter leans against the doorway with a deep frown, pitifully clutching a throw blanket around him as he watches you leave. You’re pretty sure your heart breaks in two, because in a second you’re dropping your bags and fitting yourself into his heavy arms.
“I’m sorry you can’t come, love. We really won’t be long.”
“You’ll update me on everything that happens?”
“Definitely.”
“Even if it’s something small, like Pads spilling his ink or Mcgonagall calling on him when he clearly isn’t paying attention?”
“I promise, Potter. Now please, get some rest. There’s a kettle on the stove if you want any tea later on. And I’ll bring up some broth for you when I come back.” You run a thumb over one of his unkempt brows, tussled from sleep. He takes your hand in his, kissing it’s palm. A deep sigh escaping his lips when you hear the boys calling for you in the distance. You turn to leave, throat tightening at how miserable he looks before halting. His hand tugging on your robes to pull you into his chest. He presses a soft kiss to your neck, long enough to have you melting in his hold. Of course, he’s absolutely aware of what he’s doing. Convincing, but not enough to make you miss any classes.
“Thank you, so much. For taking care of me. I know I’ve given you a hard time.” He pulls away, running a thumb over your lips as he cradles your jaw, full of sincerity.
“James, you don’t ever have to feel like you need to earn my love.” His brows raise, teasing evident in his expression as you flush. You’ve used the word much too early. And it’s your cue to press a quick peck to his jaw and hurry out the door without another word.
*********
“So, you really said it?” Sirius nudges your foot as he whispers, finding way too much amusement in your horror.
“This is why I shouldn’t confide in you, Pads.” You mutter through clenched teeth, the pair of you smiling at a scornful Mcgonagall, quick to look busy for the configurations professor.
“What did he say?”
“Nothing.”
“Nothing?”
“I sort of, rushed out the door before he could reply.” You slink into your seat, wanting to hide underneath your robes as Sirius beams.
“Brilliant.”
“Brilliant? Siri, I’m an idiot!” You’re bewildered at his ecstatic nature, forcing a hushed tone despite your passion.
“In case you haven’t notice, my love, Prongs is head over heels. Your accidental confession will have him up and at it in no time. With quidditch practices approaching, Gryffindor needs him at his best.” Your jaw drops, astonished with the boy you dare to call your good friend.
“You can’t seriously be thinking about quidditch right now.”
“I would hope not,” your sharp-faced professor interrupts, tapping the beginnings of a group project in front of you with her wand, “seeing as there’s an assignment that needs to be worked on.”
“Sorry, Professor.” You and Sirius chide weakly, putting your heads down as she continues down the rows of desks.
**********
“Honey, we’re home!” Sirius shouts as you enter the dormitory, Remus setting the broth saved from lunch hour on the counter. James exits the bedroom, hair tussled with sleep, but an undeniable grin on his face. He yawns, stretching so tall the hem of his shirt exposes the skin of his stomach. You take a moment to admire the revealed muscle, head ripping away when you see you’ve been caught.
“Looks like you got some much needed rest.” Remus points out, gathering your shared notes from the day’s classes in one binder.
“I did,” James starts, hazel eyes trailing over to you with a wry smirk “had a good dream, I guess.” Seems only you pick up on his suggestive tone, as the two other boys snap their heads at you when you choke on your own saliva.
“Hope you’re not catching what he has, love.” Remus feels your forehead, lips taught in confusion when you feel completely fine.
“Poor thing does look a little flushed, doesn’t she?” James adds, maneuvering his head to try and meet your eyes. Sheepish expression driving him mad with adoration.
“Fine, thanks.” Is all you say, surveying the room for nothing in particular before letting out a contented sigh. “Alright, well if you’re feeling better I should probably head over to the library. I gave Lily a raincheck last time, considering I had to leave so unexpectedly.” You throw a look to Sirius, voice drawn in accusation. He ignores this, looking between you and very self-satisfied James inquisitively, sure he’s missed something in this conversation.
“Leaving so soon, love? Thought you’d stay with me for a bit longer.” Potter sniffles, but you’re sure it’s not as sincere as the symptoms from before. Cheeky bastard.
“I’ve overstayed my welcome long enough. Lilly will be waiting, anyway.”
“You’re never a bother, you know that,” Remus glares, almost offended at the notion. “Besides, we have potions homework you said you needed help with.”
“Right, so you should definitely meet us there! See you all later.” And with that, you’re out the door as quick as you came.
*********
“Merlin, and what did he say back?”
“Nothing, Lills’. I rushed out straight away.” The red-head hums, tapping the feather of her quill to her chin in contemplation.
“It’s fine, y/n. Potter is totally smitten over you.” Marlene reassures, finishing a potions problem with a satisfied breath.
“That’s what Sirius said.”
“So, what’s the issue then?”
“It’s still too soon, Lilly. He’s going to think I’m crazy. I’ll scare him off. Besides, I’m not even sure I’m ready to be at that stage with him. This just confuses things.” You frown, brows drawn with stress as the girls nod knowingly. Despite the reassurance of your friends, it’s no doubt this situation complicates things.
Yet another owl swoops above you, dropping a letter into your lap and landing in the empty chair beside you. Cooing as you run the hook of your finger over the feathers of it’s chest.
“Oh great, not again.” Lilly jokes, having to muffle her own laugh when a Ravenclaw across the room glares at the lot of your hushed whispers.
You’re halfway through opening it’s contents before stopping, quirking your head at a beaming Marlene.
“What has you so smiley?”
“That isn’t Sirius’ owl.” She grins further, looking down and continuing her work instead of elaborating. You chew your bottom lip in thought, finishing with the envelope and gasping as it flutters into the air. In a whimsical, absolutely mortifying display. A mixture of red and pink paper hearts erupt into the air. Fluttering around you and then dissipating. You cover your face with the sleeves of your robes, absolutely flushed. Despite your mortification at the public display of affection, something Potter is well aware you’re not too keen of, your heart flutters.
Around you, practically every one of your peers swoons. Well aware the charmed love letter is coming from the infamous Gryffindor chaser. All except, of course, the dignified Ravenclaw, who gathers his books in an aggravated stupor and heads to a different section of the library.
“How lovely!” Lily clasps her hands together in pure joy as Marlene beside her, blowing on the remnants of ashes from the over the top display.
“I’m going to kill him.” Is all you manage, finally looking down at the familiar calligraphy to read it’s contents.
“If you’re completely flushed, curling in on yourself after opening this, I believe I’ve done my job. Thank you again, for taking care of me. I could live a million lifetimes and not deserve your heart. Love always, James.”

synopsis: walking home together after a party
sirius black x gn!reader
Tumblr media
the night sky is clear and devoid of stars. with no cover to hide, the moon's light illuminates the path. sirius hums a tune that seems born from the night itself, it fills the silence on your walk home and so is a welcome reprieve. there is a comfort in the way his hand entwines in yours.
"i love you," sirius declares suddenly. he's said it a million times before, but your heart still skips a beat. you turn your head, and his grey eyes hold your gaze.
the remnants of the party linger on your face. the lipstick you wore is now a mere whisper of colour. your mascara is smudged. yet, he looks at you with such reverence it makes you feel special.
"whenever you walk into a room, i sense your presence. i did tonight; when remus and i were smoking under the awning. and i know you do too," it was true. something deep within you always knows of his arrival before your eyes do. it is something innate, something you feel deep in your bones, and words fail you when you wish to describe it.
"it's as if our very atoms recognize each other," you reply. you think maybe it is an absurd answer, but sirius smiles anyway.
his free hand wipes the glitter on your cheek. the slight autumn chill kisses your neck, soothing the sudden warmness coursing through your body. your eyes glitter with all the love you wish to express in that moment.
"perhaps they do," he says, the words weaving themselves into the fabric of the universe.
he takes your face in his hands and kisses you, soft and slow. he is a star, all-encompassing, bursting with light and love.

The Slytherin trio(Barty, Evan, Reg) after running away from their rich families and living together at an apartment Reg got under his name not used to not having moneys so they made a plan and use their expertises to hustle in Hogwarts:
Reg being a god at potions and herbology, money maker, with a businessman's mind, with good manipulation tactics to make his products the 'it' factor😌 selling anti-sleeping potions (ravenclaws are his no.1 costumer with this), anti-nighmare(Slytherins, this is also why no one at the greenhouse messes with them), prank goos and other pranksy stuff(surprisedly this is a hit at the Huplepuffs), and anti-talking(the Gryffindors adored him for this one, I wonder why?👀) and other good stuff and convinces you to buy and agree to shit like he's Ursula and Dr. Facilier at the same time.
Barty selling his notes (he's got 12 owls, this bitch is smart), making his assignment duplicates and altering them with and altering spell he somehow knows, tutoring shit, making his mind open with answers at the exam and letting people enter, matchmaking king, he's Hogwarts cupid, he also does extra background checks for your crushes to see if they have red flags😌
Evan master at conviction and charm, he is rented for breakups because he can somehow make bad things sound like a dream, master at reasoning people need him when they want to win a fight, the messenger god, here to bring message from people are too cowardly to tell someone, sometimes people go to him to help the confess and barty is bitter because 'that's supposed to be his costumers Ev'.
They also have other deals, and can deal with your shit, so if you have a problem go to the trio for help, need to humiliate ur ex cuz he cheated? they've got you!!! Need your parents to never know the shit you do at school??? they'll cover!!!Need to kill someone but torture them brutally first???well...*looks to cannon* sorry not today
They also sell tea about people, they know shit, they know her ex's boyfriend's secret mistress, AND BLACKMAIL!!! Don't forget that they'll sell it at a high price!!! but if you need it, you know where to go!!! They can also get you out of trouble, no one knows how they'll do it but whatever they do works!!! They can prank someone you hate at a reasonable price (and they don't get caught unlike some people 🙄)
Regulus also got their business legalized(idk how he did it he's just that awesome) and have documents and does all thing legally (loopholes baby) with processes of contracts before agreeing with a client so something can't go wrong (and the teacher can't do about it) HAHSHSHAH
Pandora and Dorcas fully support them They're the managers and handles a lot of shit we don't talk about😌😏
Imagine Sirius' reaction when he finds out not only his brother run away but he also runs a sketchy yet legal(?) business with his friends and they're thriving JAjsjajajaHAJAHAHAH Remus at the background impressed about the whole thing and James drooling at Regulus' business suit atire AHAHSHAHAGHAAH Peter is a honorary member for being an investor with secrets, blackmails, and gossip that he adds

we are never ever getting back together - s.b
❥ sirius black x fem!reader
❥ summary; after you and sirius break up for the milionth time, you swear you two are never ever getting back together.
❥ warnings; toxic relationship, cheating accusation (didn't decide if sirius actually cheated or not), reader slutshames sirius, if theres more, tell me
❥ word count; 1,595
❥ a/n; based off wanegbt by taylor swift
Tumblr media
it was just a regular day for you and sirius. you knew it shouldn't be, but it was.
shouts filled the apartment where you two lived together and you were sure your neighbors were going to complain about the loud noises you two were making. and they had every right to do so. after all, it was middle of the night.
"god, y/n!" sirius let out a frustrated groan, putting his head in his hands. "i'm so fucking tired of this. can you just let it be? nothing happened anyway, you're just being dramatic. as always."
you let out a gasp, feeling offended a little.
"me?" you screamed. "dramatic? well, who do you think i learnt it from, you dick?"
he rolled his eyes and poured himself a bit of whiskey.
"just tell me you slept with her and this fight can be over," you almost begged him. "this," you pointed to yourself and him. "this can be over."
he put his drink down. "i'm gonna say it for the last time," he spoke too calmly for your liking. "i didn't sleep with her. i didn't sleep with anyone."
"then why don't i believe you?"
"it's not my fault you've been cheated on so many times you developed trust issues," he said through gritted teeth. "you should trust me if you want us to work."
you wanted to slap him. more than ever before. "well, if you want your partner to trust you, you shouldn't have gone around and fuck everything that has a pulse in your past and especially now when you're in a relationship!"
he sighed and waved his hand. "this is pointless. you are pointless."
he turned around and his back was now facing you. he was walking towards the bedroom. before he could slam the door, you yelled at him.
"we are done. we are over, sirius, and let me tell you: we are never ever getting back together!"
he didn't respond. instead some of his stupid indie records filled the silence and you cursed under your breath before walking down the hall and putting on your sneakers and the first jacket you reached for. then, you opened the door of your apartment and stepped out, your eyes meeting a neighbor who was just probably about to knock at your door and tell you to shut up. you slammed the door behind you as loud as you could, letting sirius know you were feeling only rage.
"i'm sorry, sir," you apologised to the neighbor who jumped at the loud noise of door slamming. "i promise you that this was the last time."
we are never ever getting back together we are never ever getting back together
your best friend lily evans was kind enough to let you in her apartment. well, she didn't really have a choice when you knocked on her door all shaking from rain and cold. you knew it was raining but you were feeling so angry that you forgot an umbrella on your spontaneous way out.
"did you mean it?" lily asked next morning when you two sat at her kitchen table with a cup of coffee. you could hear the water in her bathroom running, meaning james, her boyfriend, spent the night and was definitely going to investigate what happened between you and his best friend.
you looked at lily with raised eyebrow.
"did you mean it when you yelled at him that you two are never getting back together?"
you shrugged. did you really mean it? "i don't know. maybe i said it just out of anger, i'm not sure. i really love him, you know? but, god, it really is so fucking exhausting keep fighting, breaking up and then making up and then fight again, break up and make up and repeat." tears started streaming down your cheeks. "god."
in that moment, james walked into the kitchen and you quickly wiped your tears. he bent down and pecked lily's lips, smiling at her. at the sight of your teary eyes, however, his smile fell.
"oh, hi," he said and waved at you awkwardly. you could see he didn't know what to say and you questioned if you really wanted him to say something. he was probably going to defend sirius and say you two belong together anyway.
"hi," you greeted him back quietly.
lily's phone beeped and she looked at it. "it's marlene," she informed. "she's asking if i know where are you at the moment." she glanced back at you. "do you want me to tell her you're here?"
"yeah, sure." marlene asking about you meant she was probably at your and sirius' flat and your ex boyfriend told her you weren't there. he probably had that glare on his face that he had the morning after a fight too.
you, lily and james spent drinking coffee in silence. you desperately wanted to sort this shit out with the help of lily but with james there, you didn't say a single word.
marlene arrived about ten minutes later and the first thing she said was, "what the hell happened between you and black? he acted like a prick."
you snorted emotionlessly. "when does he not?" you put your cup down. "what did he do?"
"well, i wanted to give you the top i borrowed from you, here you go by the way," she handed you your top. "and so i got into your building and i heard bunch of people there talking about some kind of argument that happened in the middle of the night. well, anyway, i knocked at your door and it took sirius an eternity to open. and i noticed something was wrong like immediately but i didn't ask him. instead, i asked him if you're home. he said 'no' and before i could ask where you were, he slammed the door right in my face."
you rolled your eyes. that was so typical of him.
"we had a fight."
"about what?" marlene asked.
"think he slept with a girl from work."
you heard james snort behind you. "no, he didn't."
"james," lily warned.
you looked at him with a cold look in your eyes. "you may be his best friend but you and him are not the same person so why don't you shut your mouth and don't talk about things you have no idea about?"
james's face fell. he cleared his throat and thankfully, kept his mouth shut.
marlene's voice shook a little as she spoke. "you sure he slept with that girl?"
you shrugged. "even if he didn't, we would be better without each other.
the blonde took a seat next to lily and reached for your hand, squeezing it. "i'm very sorry."
we are never ever getting back together we are never ever getting back together
for a week, you and sirius didn't speak. at all.
during that time, all the leaves turned red, orange and yellow and you took a walk everyday with earphones in your ears to clear your head.
you distanced yourself from your friend group and stayed at your parents' house for a while. you were lucky enough not to see sirius at all even though you've been going to his favourite places.
now, you were again on one of your walks. with a coffee you bought in a nearby café earlier, you sat down on a bench in a park.
you looked around the park. there were a lot of people but they were mostly couples who found the autumn weather romantic, making you think about you and sirius and how those people used to be you two. you couldn't even think about one time in the past three months when you and him went out together without fighting about anything.
you took a sip of your coffee and hugged your coat closer to your body. at that moment, your eyes fell on two familiar people walking towards you. you sighed, taking off your headphones.
"hey, y/n," said lily.
"hi, lils," you smiled. "james."
he nodded.
"how are you doing?" the redhead questioned and you shrugged.
"been better, been worse." the next words the couple was going to hear slipped out of your mouth quicker than you could stopped yourself. "how is. . . he?"
james and lily looked at each other and the man said. "he's. . . okay?"
you weren't surprised. you didn't expect him to be affected by your fight and break up.
"no, not like that," said lily immediately when she noticed the look on your face. "he's been. . . sort of going around telling people that you two are going to get back together soon."
your mouth opened in shock. "well, we're not. definitely not soon. i need space, just like he needed."
the three of you stayed silent for a second before james spoke.
"maybe you should tell him that," he advised and for the first time, you thought james said something smart.
before you could reply, your phone rang. you expected it to be your mum or dad but the name that popped on your phone screen made you freeze.
sirius :)
you took a deep breath and your thumb hovered over the green button. you answered the call.
"sirius?"
"i still love you," his voice filled your ears. he sounded still the same like the night you two were yelling at each other.
"but i don't want to get back to you," you said honestly.
you heard him sigh. "come on, love, you don't mean it. you always say this but then we get together again. we both know that this time, it's like any other time."
"i love you, sirius, but we are never ever getting back together. like, ever."

𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒗𝒆 - 𝒖𝒑𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒄𝒆
Sirius Black x reader, James Potter x reader, Remus Lupin x reader (seperate) preferance; what its like to ice skate with the marauders day five of christmas advent calendar warnings; none uhm i've never made a preferance before but i was dying trying to make this so yeah, i hope it good!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sirius Black:
Definitely is terrified of going on the ice
Lowkey dreading it because he hates the cold (post!Azkaban Sirius definitely)
Tightly holds onto your hand
If your experienced he’ll use you as a crutch and if you’re not you’ll both end up on the floor tangled together
In the end, he hated it and never wants to do it again 🙂
Forces you to pay for hot chocolate after for compensation, to which you gladly oblige
Tumblr media
James Potter:
Claims he's never done it before
… is literally at professional level
Skates circles around you while you’re trying not to fall
Will press a kiss to your lips when he does laps on you
Becomes friends with a random guy and they skate together
You become friends with the guys girlfriend who also sucks at ice skating
Ends up being less of a romantic date together and more a friend date w the random people you met
He’ll grab your arm to urge you forward and you fall instead, taking him down with you
Now it's a tradition to go skating with that couple every year
Tumblr media
Remus Lupin:
Ice skating has never sounded appealing to him, but he’s just glad he gets to spend time with you
Holds your hand the entire time, he will never leave your side
He’s not very good at first, but he picks it up quickly
You both get better and better throughout the night
At the end of the night he can successfully twirl you on the ice
He’s really happy and giddy the entire night, with his wide smile and twinkling eyes (you know exactly what look I’m talking about)
Once you’ve retired to your bed at night he tells you how much fun he had and he loves you SO MUCH

Haunting
fwb!fred weasley x fem!reader, with harry potter x fem!reader
Tumblr media
You are dating “The Golden One”, Harry Potter. Expect a few weeks ago you cheated on him with Fred, your fwb. And you cant help but think about him all night long while at the burrow, sitting next to him.
Tumblr media
You smooth your skirt down, from it, blowing up in the wind. Harry knocked on the door, and then soon moved his hand so he was holding yours. The door finally opened and you saw someone all too familiar. It was Fred you’re on and off again friends with benefits who you had cheated on your current boyfriend, Harry Potter, with less than a week ago.
He he looked at you and Harry holding hands and a twinge ran through your heart. After looking for a little too long, he cleared his throat and move backwards. So you and Harry could walk in Molly, saw you right away she ran from her spot in the kitchen to hug Harry and greet you. She yelled at him, and you, for him being too small, and not eating enough. That was something that had always bothered you when people complain to you about his problems like he wasn’t good enough to take care of himself, because he was the golden one.
After talking with Molly and catching up, you and Harry made you in the living room. Fred was there talking to George. Harry sat down in a couch adjacent from Fred and you sat in the spot farthest from him. You wanted to forget about last week about the mistake you made, but it was hard to forget about especially when he was sitting right next to you.
You tried for weeks to re-create a feeling with Harry, but when it inevitably failed for the thousandth time you finally gave in. You called Fred but quickly hung up feeling regret, but after a few minutes, he called you back. “ did you call?” You stayed silent for a few minutes, but then answered. “Yea” you trailed off. “ What’s going on? The golden boy not enough for you.” Even though it was a dig at your relationship he was right and you met up and had a great night together.
You had spent the last week desperately trying to get Harry to make you feel the same way. It was different than when you tried before because this time you remember what the feeling was and you needed him to make you feel that way. Harry felt he wasn’t being enough and it led to many arguments. In fact you’d had one right before this night. He yelled that you were a selfish person who couldn’t accept him. And you raged that he had to much of an ego. But you put on your happy faces for Molly.
Your mind kept wandering to that night every time you looked at Fred. Sometimes he look at you and your eyes would look for a little too long. He mesmerized you and your body. His eyes watched your chest rise and fall. He looked at your arms remembering how you shiver when he kisses your shoulders. He finally landed on your hands. Which at the moment was intertwined with Harrys.
His jaw clenched and you noticed. You felt bad. You really liked him but he wasn’t boyfriend material. He played around, he didn’t try to be nice. Not to mention his issues with commitment. You quickly looked back at Harry down at his hand, which is resting on your thigh. You realize he was the one you deserved. And for the rest of the night you didn’t look at Fred.
When dinner was over you all returned to the living room. At some point Molly mentioned that there was a storm outside. she suggested you all stay the night. Ron and Hermione slept in his old bedroom and the boys in their’s. You and Harry camped out in the living room somehow luckily you had a bag full of clothes from the few weeks of traveling you’ve been doing, but the only night time clothing you had was a blue slip nightgown.
Luckily, everybody was in bed so you didn’t feel weird wearing this skimpy nightgown. You and Harry laid down, and as he held you in his arms, tears slid down your face. You feel bad for what you had done. But you realized that you weren’t happy, and there was no way that it was morally right to be happy with two men. After tossing and turning for what felt like ours, you finally went to the bathroom.
You sat on the toilet and thought. You thought about breaking up with Harry you thought about marrying Harry. Your mind swirled. You got up and wiped your tears looking at yourself in the mirror. You finally walked out of the bathroom into the kitchen.
The kitchen was dimly lit, except for a lamp. Where you saw a familiar Redhead. Fred was sitting there with a glass of wine and a cigarette. Basically your perfect night. “ Why are you up?” he asked. You look down, not being able to look at him, not being able to answer him.
“ trouble in paradise?” he asked again united before taking a seat next to him. His eyes immediately went to your bare skin, making you feel nervous. You are the cigarette in his hands before he handed you one. You took it and lit it. Puffing up the smoke.
You felt his hand touch your thigh, but you didn’t make a scene about it. but it slowly started to inch, It’s way up. you looked at him for a second. ”Can i have some?” You motion to his wine. “Yes” he says hes voice husky. He said to take a sip when you feel his hand dipped into your panties. Then you coughed and choked on the wine.
He said it down before looking at him very concerned “we cant do this” you yelled at him he leaned in and kissed your lips. And you forgot about it you forgot about Harry you forgot about your relationship you only could think of him.
A/N: I am so sorry this was so late it’s not that great but they will probably be a part two I don’t know. Also, the guy in the picture of the top is so cute anyway. 🙈 also, I am so beyond sorry that it is short. I will definitely try for the next one. I’ve just been in a little bit of a writing slump

Two Halves of a Whole
(Part 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing : Sirius Black × Potter!reader
Summary : Y/N Euphemia Potter is the younger child to Euphemia and Fleamont Potter. James introduces Y/N to his gang on the very first day of her school. As years pass , Sirius Black , James' best mate starts falling hard for his best mate's sister. Will she feel the same or will it be a one-sided love story ? Read more to find out.
A/N: PS: I am gonna publish this in 10 or so parts spanning over the 7 years of their Hogwarts education. I will post the link to the next part in this part when I publish it. So do check it out.
Warning : mention of bruises , wand being pointed to the reader's neck. Overprotective James , Remus being a brother figure , not much for Peter (coz he betrayed and I hate him. )
Navigation / Part 1 / Part 2
Tumblr media
Y/N was awestruck by the beauty of Hogwarts. The Black Lake , the giant doors of Hogwarts , the staircases ; everything was grand and new to her.
A middle-aged lady , most probably a Professor took them inside The Great Hall which had hundreds of candles floating in the air. The ceiling was enchanted to look like the night sky. She passed James and his friends as they all gave her a smile.
The Professor stood on the platform as she unfolded the parchment.
"Now I will call the students and accordingly you have to come and sit on the stool. The sorting hat will sort you into your respective houses. "
Then did she notice the ragged looking Hat perched on the stool.
Tumblr media
"Potter , Y/N !" The Professor called out her name. Her heart was thumping loudly in her ribcage as if it would break out of the cage. She climbed on the platform and sat on the stool.
"Witty , very witty. Oh yes creative too , Ravenclaw it seems ! But you have an enormous amount of courage. Alright , better be Gryffindor !"
A very wide grin replaced the frown on her face as someone from Gryffindor yelled ," We got the second Potter too !"
She was finally going to be in the same house as her brother.
She ran towards her brother as they had saved her a seat in advance. James ruffled her hair as he spoke ,"finally in Gryffindor. "
"Yes !" She turned to look at the others.
"Congratulations Y/N !" She heard Remus , Peter and Sirius wish her.
Tumblr media
Y/N was walking to her Transfiguration class when she bumped into a certain red-head who had just come out of the class , some other Gryffindor students following her.
"I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going." The (y/h/c) haired girl apologized.
"Oh no , don't bother. I wasn't looking. "
The red-haired girl looked at Y/N and said ,"you are the younger Potter , aren't you ?"
"Yes I am. " At times Y/N wasn't quite pleased by being known as 'younger Potter'. She had the sudden urge to tell the red-haired girl to call her by her name but suppressed it.
"You seem pretty decent as compared to your brother. "
"James. What did he do ?"
"He is an annoying toerag. "
Y/N chuckled at those words as the red-head gave her a smile. She heard a distant voice ," Evans ! Wait there !"
"Oh god ! Your brother. By the way , nice to meet you. See you later. Lily Evans. " The girl gave her a quick handshake and walked away as Y/N chuckled and walked towards the classroom.
"Was that Evans talking to you ?" James asked her.
"Yes. "
"I was calling her ! Why didn't you stop her ?"
"You wanted me to stop her ? Why though ?"
"I want to be friends with her. "
"Good luck with that !" She said in a sing-song voice.
"What did she tell you ?"
"James it would be better if you attend your classes this sincerely. It would do mum-dad a lot of favour. Now don't you have DADA class ?"
She saw Sirius at the door frame watching both of them.
"Sirius. Don't you have your classes ? Off you go ! Both of you. "
"Uh-oh yeahh. I-I will go "
He walked towards James , swinging a hand over his shoulder.
"Let's take you to DADA , Potter. "
They both walked off , as Sirius turned around for a moment , gave her a little 'bye-bye' wave and disappeared into the corridor.
Tumblr media
By the time November had started , it was starting to cool down. Students had started to use jumpers to keep themselves warm. Library was the perfect place to study for students like Y/N.
It was past 10 in the night. James was starting to get worried of her , including Sirius , Remus and Peter.
"James. I think we should tell Professor McGonagall. " Remus , the most sensible of the group suggested.
"What if she gets scolded by Professor McGonagall ?" Peter asked the group.
"No Pete. We won't let that happen. I think we should go and search in the castle."
"Sirius is right. We should search in the castle and if to no avail we should report to McGonagall. "
"James let us just check once in the girls dormitory first. "
"How Remus ?"
"Just ask some random girl. "
"Nobody is around. We should go check the girls dormitory ourselves ?"
"What - no ! - hey Evans. "
The red-head turned around.
"Yes Lupin ?"
"We need you to do a favour for us. Can you please go into the girl's dormitory and check whether James' sister is in there ?"
Lily nodded and checked up on the girl's dormitories but Y/N obviously wasn't there.
"Where is she then ?"
"We -"James piped in.
"Oh she left me a note saying she was in the Astronomy tower. I remember that ! You can go Evans. Thank you !"
Sirius muttered an over-excited 'thank-you' as Lily eyed him suspiciously but nevertheless retreated to her dormitory.
Tumblr media
Y/N saw the time in the library watch as it read 10.21.
"Merlin ! I've missed the dinner too ! James will be so worried about me !" She quickly put away all her belongings and hurried out of the library.
She was walking towards the Gryffindor common room when she heard someone call her.
"It's so pleasant to see young Miss Potter loitering around this late in the castle , also not to mention , all alone , by herself. "
She heard a girl say , she was undeniably older than her , her curly hair giving her a maniacal look. She was followed by a blonde wizard , almost the same age as her. Behind them were two other boys and a girl.
They started circling her as she stood there unkowing of what to do.
"You know Potter , you should be proud of your pure-blood lineage. Didn't your mother and father teach you that ? I saw you having a conversation with that mud-blood Evans today."
"Bella , how would they teach her such important good Manners ! They themselves are - filthy blood traitors -"
"My mum-dad arent filthy blood traitors ! Don't you dare speak a word against them !"
"Perhaps your brother then - my cousin Sirius has been defying his parents ever since he has befriended your blood-traitor brother. "
She pounced at the curly haired girl and tackled her to the ground.
"Don't you dare speak a word about my family ! I won't -" she was pulled up by a girl who held her by her hair.
"No ! Leave me !" Y/N cried out , tears streaming down her face like a waterfall. The girl's wand pressed into her neck ; that spot of her neck turning blue.
"Y/N !" She heard two familiar voices as she tried to turn her head.
The 4 ran near her as the 5 students retreated. She ran towards James and hugged him around the middle. Sirius' heart did drop at the sight of Bellatrix near Y/N.
I love her like a sister , don't I ?
Sirius tried to shrug the uncanny feeling in his stomach.
"Jamie !" She cried onto his shirt.
"So very touching , Lucius !" She heard the girl advance towards them as she saw Sirius and Remus cover her as James tightened his hold on her stroking her head. Peter too , stood besides Sirius and James a few moments later.
"Fighting your elder cousin , are we ?" The girl looked at Sirius , a glint of craziness in her eyes.
"Bella , if you harm her or corner her or try to make her feel uncomfortable in any possible way , then I will make sure that will be the last day you live on this earth. "
She scoffed and went away with her cronies as the trio turned towards the younger girl who was still in her brother's embrace.
"Niff , Niff look at me !" James said to her. She did as she was told.
"Jamie - Jamie - they insulted mum and dad ! And you too ! " She again broke down into tears as his grip tightened on her.
"James , I think we should go to the common room and discuss things there. "
"Yes , lets get under the cloak and head to common room. Niff , stay between me and Remus. Sirius and Peter follow behind us. "
As soon as they reached the common room , the four boys sat her on the couch , James on one side looking extremely worried , Remus looking mildly less worried , Peter looking even less worried. Technically Sirius was freaked out !
Remus noticed the blue bruise on her neck as she said ," Y/N , what is this blue bruise on your neck ?"
"They held a wand to my neck , Remus. " She said , sniffling.
"What ! Who did that ?" James asked.
"The girl who held me by my hair. "
Sirius clutched his wand and dashed towards the door , only to be stopped by James.
"Where are you off to ?"
"To teach Bella and her cronies a lesson. "
"No ! You are not going to do any of that ! Any of you. "
"Why ? They've harmed you. " Sirius said looking at her.
"They were all 6th or 7th years. They know way more spells than you lot. Besides I don't want McGonagall to reduce house points or give you detention. "
"Niff , but -"
"She's right , James. " Remus spoke.
"We all know how nasty Bellatrix can get. They are 7th years and know how to have a proper wand fight. Not to mention the Dark Arts she knows. If we do anything that would provoke her , she might again corner Y/N someday -"
"We won't let that happen. " Sirius spoke.
"We know that Sirius but just keep you calm and don't let her get to you. "
"Anyways Niff , are you alright ?"
"Yes." She gave her brother a smile as he dropped her off near the stairs of the girl's dormitories.
James turned to Sirius and enveloped him in a hug.
"I will always be there for her. "
"We all will. " Remus too piped it as all the four went in for a group hug.
"Thank you , Remus , Sirius and Peter. "

First and Last With; James Potter
Tumblr media
A/N: Hello again! I finally finished that wonderful request, so sorry it took forever. Football (NFL playoffs) and school preparations have kept me preoccupied. Winter break is over and I’m absolutely devastated. For anyone in college, I wish you luck for this Spring Semester. But with that being said, school starting back up means I likely won’t upload as much. So I apologize in advance. Regardless, I hope this makes up for the wait on this request. To the lovely anon and all others, enjoy!
Summary: The one where the Marauders vacation to the Potter’s beach house, and a revealing drinking game ensues...
TW: Descriptions of panic attacks, Sirius is an ass as usual, a lot of mutual pining.
Tumblr media
“Marlene, you have packed half of your house and more, it’s just a week’s vacation.”
“Anything could happen, Sirius. Better to be over prepared than under prepared.”
“I’m just happy James is filthy rich.” Dorcas deadpans, straightening when you and Lilly shoot her a disapproving look. “And so, very generous at the same time.”
“I’m not filthy rich.” James laughs, taking your bags from your grasp and loading them into the trunk for you. Amongst all of your friends belongings, piled high enough to reach the top of the van you’ve rented for the adventure. “We’re just...Comfortable.”
“That’s what all rich people say.” You and Remus look to each other, stunned at your simultaneous blunt confessions.
“Shush, the lot of you.” Lilly chides, never sparing commonalities.
“Remind me why we couldn’t just use floo powder? I’m already sweating, and my complexion does not do well in heat.” Sirius fans himself dramatically. James allows you to lift yourself over the mountains of bags with his arm for support in order to reply.
“When have any of you experienced the adventure of a road trip?” You’re beaming at the thought, James takes your distraction as an opportunity to admire your unusually giddy attitude. Though the real reason you’re so eager to be away from home pulls at his mind, his grin faltering. He pokes your side, grabbing your attention.
“Miss sunshine gets shotgun, I’ve called it.”
“Prongs, I thought you’d have wanted me to be your passenger princess?”
“Absolutely not, though I’ll miss those luscious locks of yours. I’m driving, so I select my navigator.”
“You’ve been there a million times.” You note, crossing your arms incredulously. James smirks, placing his burgundy and gold quidditch cap atop your head.
“I’d much rather you keep me company.” He says so only you can hear, unknowing of your flushing when he turns back to Sirius. “Pads, Moons is gonna need a pretty view, it’s fortunate he’ll have you in the middle seat.”
“I’m reading! Reading this entire time, very busy.” Remus teases, pleased with the raven-haired boy’s mock offense.
You round the corner of the van after checking the trunk for the fourth time, positive you haven’t forgotten any supplies for the trip. James is at the passenger side, holding the door open for you. He’s got a pair of prescription sunglasses on, and looks very different. No less handsome, if anything, the shades accentuate the bravado you’ve always envied. His arms are especially toned after another quidditch season, tanned from the summer sun you’ve missed so dearly. You’re staring.
“Systems ready, co-pilot?” He beams down at you, pulling his cap over your eyes in teasing. You stick a tongue out at him, pulling his arms away so you can  adjust it right again.
“I feel silly in this.”
“Nonsense, you look adorable. My clothes suit you.” He defends, so casual you don’t let the words resonate until after he’s shut your door and rounded to the drivers side.
“Enjoy the passenger seat, princess.” Sirius sneers, pouting despite not holding any true ill-will.
“Gladly.”
************
“Are we there yet?”
“No, Dorcas. Just like we weren’t there ten minutes ago.” James glances at the girl through the rearview, slightly amused with her childish complaints.
“You know, we could just pull over and-”
“No floo powder!” You and Lilly shout to Sirius, hoping not to have awoken a sleeping Marlene and Remus. Sirius covers their ears, both of them having dropped their heads on each one of his shoulders some time throughout their slumber. You finish fiddling with the radio when a good song comes on, taking a moment to look at the lot of your friends all corralled in the van.
“Where’s the camera, James?”
“On my side door here, I’ll pull over if you want it.”
“Oh, so you’ll pull over for her.”
“Shut it, Pads.”
“No need, I can reach it.” You lean over the seat, careful not to block his view of the road as you quickly grab it. James swallows, clears his throat to act natural whilst all of his insides begin to burn.
“Hot?” Is all you ask, studying his discomposure.
“What?” He starts, voice shaky and strained. Sirius falls into a fit of muffled laughter from the back, leaving you confused. “J-Just a little warm, yeah.” Potter recovers, now well aware you were inquiring about temperature. You turn up the AC, taking the cover off the lens and pointing the camera toward the back. Sirius smiles wide for the camera, handsome features lighted by the early afternoon sun. Marlene and Remus drool along on his shoulders as Lilly beams brightly from the back. Looking positively radiant, as always. Dorcas smiles, but holds up her favorite finger to the lens. You grin, full of adoration for the entire lot of them as you snap a couple photos, ensuring they’re all in the frame.
James admires in increments from the rearview, blowing a raspberry to the camera when you point it at him.
“Eyes on the road, Potter.” He shakes his head, running a hand over the steering wheel in a mindless habit as he hears the camera snap. Looking over quickly to smile at the lens. Effortlessly handsome, as usual.
“We have to take as many pictures as possible this week.” You demand, getting excited all over again for the much needed vacation, spent with all your best friends, no less.
You roll down your window even more, sticking your head to enjoy the warm, salty air. It smells of the beach, grass, all things green and beautiful. You’re so happy your head spins, giggling to yourself as you catch Lilly doing the same behind you. Meeting her eyes in the side mirror and scrunching your nose when she blows a kiss, an embellished hand pretending to capture it in the air and holding it to your heart.
James does a double take from his view of the road and then you. Trying to stay focused and not find any distraction in your adorably delighted mood. His brows furrow when you shuffle forward, aiming to get even more of your body out of window the feel the entirety of what this beautiful view has to offer.
“Absolutely not.” He chastises, a finger hooking onto your belt loop and tightening. His eyes are on the road, one hand on the wheel as he tugs you back inside.
“Lame!” You whine, hitting his arm in distaste.
“I prefer my friends with their pretty heads in tact, thank you.”
You settle in your seat, still full of delight but a little more contemplative as you think about what got you here.
“Summer vacation!” Sirius throws himself between you and Remus during lunch. Gathering an assortment of food on his own plate. You’ve barely eaten, stomach turning at the thought of being home for two months. You’re nudged from under the table, meeting James’ gaze, whose eyes avert to your abandoned plate. A subtle request for you to eat. You offer a weak smile, shrugging before your friends go on.
“Two whole months without exams.” Marlene adds, absolutely pleased with not having to spend another second with her nose in a book.
“We’ll be seventh years, I can hardly believe it.” You’ve considered Lilly’s words the entirety of this last month of classes, absolutely dreading going home. Hogwarts is more home than your house would ever be, and your friends are the only real family you have. You lose your breath at this, biting at the nail of your thumb and wincing when it draws blood.
“I’m gonna head to the library,” You announce, blinking hard to fight the room from blurring. “Forgot to turn in my potions textbook.” It’s believable enough for the group to nod along, chorusing their farewells as you head out of the great hall. Heart racing and hands trembling. James takes only a moment, eyes following you the entire time. It’s not his business, but he knows that demeanor. He’s seen all of this before, in the boy he calls his best friend. Sirius Black, who leans forward and shoots James a look. Instantly, the chaser is on his feet, mumbling a feeble excuse and heading out of the hall in search for you.
“I think he left the curling iron on.”
James searches the corridor wildly, all of the students being in the Great Hall makes the search easy, he can follow the sound of your fleeting footsteps with ease in this sea of silence. He follows your distant frame up a set of stairs, cursing to himself when they shift before he can follow your path. He’s searching for a new route, not wanting to shout to you and scare you even more.
There’s a lot of running, a couple instances of tripping over his own feet, but eventually Potter catches up to you.
You’re sat in a windowsill beneath an overhang of a hallway above, curled in on yourself. James approaches carefully, trying to control his panting breaths.
“Fuck, James!” You startle each other, studying the other instantly.
“You’re” the athlete coughs, winded, “so fast.” You smile, but it does little to calm you down, because as he gets closer, the view around him blurs, and everything sounds cloudy, distant.
“I’m,” you try to form words, too loud because you can’t hear yourself properly. “F-fine.” You try to move, try escaping to prevent embarrassing yourself further. Clutching your chest and swiping at the flood of tears that can’t be ceased.
“You’re not. You’re having a panic attack.”
“Happened b-before,” you wheeze, staring at your hands to make sure they’re real “I’m good.”
“And I’m a humble introvert that loves Slytherin, sit down.” You begin to wheeze, rubbing your hands over your legs to stop them from sweating, ground yourself maybe. “I’m gonna hug you, tight. Is that alright?” You nod, because you’re not entirely sure what he’s just said and it’s easier to comply.
He encloses you in an embrace, loosening for only a second when you fight it. He’s squeezing again, but it’s not unpleasant. You’re shaking, and your breaths are still rapid. James swallows, terrified and unsure. Because all of this usually helps Sirius but he’s still kind of freaking the fuck out.
“Let’s talk about something.” He suggests, wincing when you hiccup for air in reply. “I know you’ll love this. What’s something about me that annoys you?” You’re aware he’s trying to distract you, and you feel like you’re dying, so you give it a go in the off chance it’ll help.
“You’re im-immature.”
“Good. But you’ve done better than that, love.”
“You’re reckless. You play quidditch like,” you lick your lips, trying to control your trembling. “Like you’re indestructible.”
“Attagirl, something else?”
“You’re picky, and...And you’re too stubborn to try new things.” James hums, recalling a time you’d forced him to drink pumpkin juice an he hurled in the lavatory minutes later. He rests his chin on your head, pleased when the added pressure slows your breathing.
“You’d do anything for your friends, no matter the personal expense. It’s self destructive, p-probably exhausting.”
“Ouch. You really know how to flatter a man, love.”
“I don’t want to go home.” You whisper, so quiet he’d miss it had he not been surveying your every move. The confession shocks even you, and James, for likely the first time in his life, is devastated to be right about something.
“I’m not gonna let you. We’re going to figure this out. I’m gonna figure this out, I promise.”
“You’re doing that thing again.” You note, wiping your nose with the sleeve of your robe. Further comforted in the feel of his chest vibrating against you from laughing.
“And you’re forming full sentences.” He loosens, giving you space to decide whether or not you want to separate.  You don’t, not right away, not when you can feel the strong, stable beating of his heart.
“What am I gonna do? I can’t stay here over break. Even if Dumbledore allowed it, my family would-” You falter, unable to finish. James holds tight again, nauseated.
“I promised. And I intend on keeping it, love.”
**********
“Land! Sweet, sweet land.” Sirius cries, throwing himself onto the freshly cut grass.
“James, it’s stunning.” Lilly shades her eyes to admire the shore house. Standing taller than the others around it.
“It’s home. Away from home, that is.” James shrugs, and you can’t help but feel a twinge of jealousy. There’s a faint, deep-rooted envy for the blessings your friends hold. Sirius rolls onto his back to look at you, the only one noticing your hunched shoulders amongst the rest of the group beginning to unload the van.
“Shall we go inside, lovely? Get dibs on the best rooms while these common folk collect our luggage. He extends his arm for you to take, adjusting the sunglasses adorning his face and ignoring the displeased looks of your friends. Stealing a kiss to your temple as he leads you inside.
“Moony, sweetheart, do be careful with my things. I’ll show you what bed to place them on.”
“Fuck off, Pads.”
“That’s Sir Padfoot, to you.”
You and Sirius falter, shocked to see an older woman placing the finishings of a homemade meal on the large kitchen table. The inside is even more impressive than the out, but you don’t have much time to appreciate the decorum. Considering you’re engulfed in an oddly familiar embrace.
“Welcome, welcome!” She beams, holding Sirius’ face and kissing his cheeks with small pinches.
“How’s my Siri?”
“Alright, mum. Thanks. James didn’t mention you’d be here. Though it’s a very happy surprise.” He looks at the wrinkled, stunning woman that smells of lavender and tea like she’s hung every star in the sky. It’s then you make the obvious connection this is Mrs. Potter.
“Oh, he doesn’t know either. I’m only here to make sure you’re all settled in and then I’ll be on my way. We haven’t visited here in a while, I wanted to be sure it looked alright for you all.”
“Hard to imagine it ever looks less than gorgeous,” you say without thinking, “thank you for having us. This is lovely.”
“And so are you, dear. Sirius, tell me this beautiful young girl is with you?” She strokes your hair, and it’s the most comforting touch you’ve likely ever felt.
“Only in my dreams, unfortunately. Unless dear y/n would like to make a wish come true?” You laugh, swatting away his puckered lips.
“Y/n? Oh, I’ve been waiting to meet you! Sweetheart, Jamie talks about you so much in his letters!”
“Let’s get waste-Mum!” James drops the bag in hand, yours. Pulling the handle of liquor behind his back in pure shock. “What are you doing here?”
“Thought I’d have a warm meal waiting for you kids. You must be starving after that drive. Though I’m so happy you did as opposed to powdering here. Shows some responsibility. And Jamie gets so sick sometimes with the powder and all-”
“Mum!” The taller boy repeats, setting the array of luggage in hand down and hiding the bottle behind it.
“I’m doting, aren’t I? Remmy!”  She stops herself, rushing over to envelop the taller boy in her arms. He, just as Sirius, is absolutely pleased to see her. She goes down the line of girls, putting faces to names and genuinely loving every second of it. James sighs, no genuine distaste in his nature as he observes.
Sirius throws an arm over your shoulder, cheeky as ever. “Mum was just telling us about your letters home.”
“You’re just as pretty as he said you were. All you girls are so beautiful!” She goes on, blissfully unaware of her beet-red son.
“She exaggerates.” James scratches his neck, skin burning with embarrassment.
“Does she?” Siris pulls you closer, basking in your shared humiliation.
“This food looks wonderful Mrs. Potter. Thank you so much for thinking of us.” Lilly clasps her hands together, rolling her eyes fondly at James’ indebted glance.
“Call me Euphemia, please. And yes, you all must be starving. Come, fill those bellies with something warm.” You’re in a state of shock as you sit, unaccustomed to such hospitality and genuine kindness. It’s evident where James gets his big heart, undying selflessness.
The food is amazing, you all go for seconds with a chorus of shared appreciation and compliments. Euphemia beams as she collects her things, pleased to meet the lot of friends her son cares for so deeply.
“All the beds have fresh sheets, and there’s extra throw blankets in the linen closet. Jamie, your father says go easy on the fire whisky. He’d ask for no drinking, but we all know that’s a long shot. Don’t break anything, and Remmy, keep everyone in check.” The taller boy nods swiftly, no doubt having heard the orders before. James gets up from his seat, kissing his mothers cheek and enveloping her in a hug.
“Thank you mum, seriously.” She fixes his hair, wiping invisible smudges from his face in a fit of doting.
“No problem, I’m glad you were all able to make it here. You’re welcome to stay as long as you’d like. All of you.” Theres a quick moment where she meets both you and Sirius’ eyes, the two of you nodding with feigned smiles. Quickly, she kisses both Moony and Padfoot’s heads, stopping for only a moment to caress your cheek with her thumb, a faint sadness in her gaze. Everyone else is enveloped in conversation, passing servings across the table as they would at the Great Hall.
“You’ll keep an eye on my Jamie, won’t you?” She whispers, touch soothing you with an unknown ease.
“Of course, though I’m not sure he needs it.” You hold her wrist, somehow not minding the affection whatsoever.
“So he likes to think. He does, really, speak so fondly of you in his letters. You’re even more lovely than he described.” You want to cry, so overwhelmed with her generosity and love, a maternal energy so strong it’s wiped your mind of any anxieties.
“Alright, mum. Let the poor girl eat.” James guides her toward the fireplace, while his mother pats his arm and says something to him you don’t quite catch. James’ ears burn bright red, and he nudges her gently so she’ll stop looking over at you. The rest of the group turns toward the fireplace, echoing their farewells and gratuity as she waves. Floo powder enveloping the space around her and sending her off.
“Does that turn your stomach just looking at it, Jamie?” Marlene mocks, the rest of your laughing through bites of food as he flips her off.
“Fuck off, the lot of you.”
“We should start cleaning up.” You suggest, taking your own plate and bringing it to the sink. “This way we can unpack before the sun sets.” Lilly follows, taking her and Dorcas’ plate to you as you begin washing. Sirius groans, grabbing a dish towel from one of the drawers and drying the dishes you hand him.
“Can’t we just charm the sponges to clean these?”
“Dad had them countered so they can’t be charmed. Said it was supposed to teach me some ‘household responsibility.’” Sirius howls, thoroughly amused.
“I’m just curious about these detailed letters back home.” Remus mutters as he carries his plate past James, dodging his swings and rushing toward the group at the sink for safety.
*****************
After everyone’s settled in, and you’ve all recovered from the ‘who called what room first’ arguments, there’s an obligatory round of shots. A bin begins to pile high with cans, and you’re all sat around a bonfire atop the Potter’s outdoor furniture. Even the furniture for the backyard looks expensive, so you clutch your drink in hopes not to make any spills.
You’re buzzed now, skin tingling with an uncommon ease as you lean against the arm of the couch. Sea breeze easing the warm air as the fire pops in front of you.
“Alright, none of you are drunk enough.” Sirius chastises, shifting in his seat and tossing Lilly another beer. “Never have I ever,” you all groan in half-assed annoyance as the name of the game sounds, “been snitched on by Peeves.”
You and the rest of the girls take slow, ashamed, sips. The boys all looking over in amazement.
“We snuck out one time! All I wanted was a bloody butter beer.” Marlene confesses, flushed. James stretches as he approaches, still sore from driving. He passes you his cup, grinning when you cringe at whatever concoction he’s come up with. You move your legs so he can sit beside you, the rest of the couches having been taken.
“It was a terrible craving, but nonetheless worth the loss of points for Gryffindor.”
“Is that why we were tied with Ravenclaw mid semester?” Remus laughs over his cup.
“We still won the cup!” You and Lilly defend, James taking hold of your legs to place them on top of his. He isn’t even thinking about it, too enthralled with the teasing conversation before him as he slides a hand under the cuff of your jeans. Warm hands calloused from quidditch running over your shin. You’ve always found affection with him comes easier than with others, and the touch comforts you, electricity lingering on your skin.
“Never have I ever, had my first kiss.” Because Dorcas also aims to have the rest of you drinking more, she says what she thinks is the most common proposition. Your stomach turns, and you debate on taking a sip just because it’ll spare you the embarrassment. You must consider it too long, because Sirius’ brows shoot up in shock.
“Merlin, how?” Is all Sirius manages, the girls’ jaws dropping because you’ve never told them.
“I volunteer!” Marlene shoots a hand up while you curl into the cushions, wishing you’d just had the drink.
“It’s not that there haven’t been opportunities.” You struggle through the explanation, tugging on the sleeves of your shirt to fight the cold. “I just, I guess, want the first one to matter. If it’s been this long I may as well make it special.” They all coo in mocking, laughing when you flip them off.
“I get it.” James pats your leg, taking generous sips of his own drink.
“You don’t.” Theres an amusement in your tone, no real meanness to any of it.
“Well what about that Hufflepuff third semester, he was totally into you.” Dorcas inquires.
“Are we seriously this interested in my love life, or lack thereof?” You roll your eyes when they all agree, giddy from the topic and the alcohol. “I thought he was into me, but I don’t know. We stopped talking after a while.”
“Wait,” Remus narrows his brows, too contemplative to see James’ signals. “That curly haired guy, beater for Huffle?” You nod, giggling because he’s not usually this slow to understanding, clearly inebriated.
“Wasn’t that the kid that came up to us at Hogsmeade, Prongs?” Potter vehemently shakes his head, chugging his drink again.
“Nope, I don’t think so.”
“No, I’m pretty sure it was. You two didn’t get on that well, I think.” Sirius covers his mouth to muffle his laughing, basking in Moony’s drunken confession.
“You sabotaged me!” You frown, James grabbing your leg so you can’t kick his side.
“Listen, I overheard him boasting in the locker room. He’s not the type you should be around. Trust me.” He’s sincere, enough to make you relax.
“He was a bit of an ass, sweetheart. Prongs isn’t entirely wrong.”
“You two are still snog-blocks.” Dorcas is quick at your defense, crossing her arms in solidarity.
“If I wasn’t banished to solitude, I’d kiss you, Dorcas.”
“Time and place, lovely.” You clutch your heart, feigning a blush in your antics.
*********
“Alright, I need my beauty rest. Someone needs to remain the prettiest of the friend group.” Sirius stretches, tapping a dazed Remus on the cheek to get him up. His actions initiate the turning in of the rest of the group. To which you and James groan.
“It’s only 2, you’re all lame!” Potter sneers, looking to you for consolation. You nod along, displeased with their departure.
“You night owls can stay up as long as you want, but we have all week to be sleep deprived.” Marlene ruffles James’ hair and kisses your temple as she stupors inside, giggling all the way with the other girls.
“And then there were two.” You stretch, moving over when James shifts, moving into a laying position. In order to fit comfortably, you still have to keep your legs over his. “You know, now theres three other open couches.”
“I like it here.” He decides, enclosing his hands over his chest and settling in. You chuckle, letting him tangle his legs in yours.
It’s confusing, because he chooses you as his passenger, his seat-mate, scares other guys away. Fuck, he planned an entire trip just because you and Sirius have such shitty home lives. Guilt twinges in your chest, and the alcohol allows you to finally say what you’ve been holding in since you first got in the car. “James?” He hums, hazel eyes looking up at the array of stars in the night sky. “Why did you do all this?” Potter sits up, looking over to you in disbelief.
“Why wouldn’t I? Don’t you like it here?”
“Like it? It’s a shore house filled with all of my closest friends and alcohol. I love it here.” He laughs, nudging your legs with his own in teasing.
“I’ve been wanting to ask you something,” he starts, answering your question with one of his own. “Would you be willing to spend the whole summer here?”
This time, you sit up, brows raised in shock. “Sorry?”
“Instead of having to go home, you could stay here.”
“James, I couldn’t possibly intrude like that-”
“It wouldn’t just be us two.” He unnecessarily reassures. “I’ve already spoke with Pads, and he’s staying. My mum doesn’t want him going home either.”
“You already talked to your parents about it?”
“In the chance either of you said yes. They both are more than happy to have us stay here. There’s internship positions at my dad’s company, and he said if we looked after the house and helped him out, we’d be more than welcome to stay.”
“Are you starting a shelter for the broken homes club or something?” You jest, not in poor taste, but because it’s the only defense mechanism you know. James frowns anyway, upset at the thought.
“I care about the both of you. And...I’d never want either of you going home to- Well, anything other than a place you feel safe. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if something happened to you. Knowing I could have stopped it. Understand?”
You nod, warm tears brimming in your eyes. Because in a world full of people that don’t, James Potter cares. You tackle him in a hug, overcome with the foreign feeling of being cared about, protected. He falters, wrapping an arm around your waist with a small laugh.
“That’s a yes, then?” You nod, smile pulling at your lips when he uses his thumb to wipe away your tears.
“James?”
“Yeah?” He’s soft-spoken now, eyes studying yours as you press your hands to his chest.
“Is there...Any other reason you told that guy to stay away from me?” He swallows, licking his lips with an unusual anxiety to him. He meets your eyes again, pleading for another hint.
“Would you want there to be?”
“I’d like to have my first kiss.” You play with a pull in his sweater, fighting a smile at his nervous demeanor. “Would you want it to be you?” He nods, slow, and honestly unsure if you’re fucking with him. Considering how embarrassed he’d be if this is some joke, or a dream, maybe. “James?” You move closer, and he snaps out of his daze.
“I would.” He averts his eyes to your lips, back to your eyes again to ensure you’re sincere. “Like to kiss you, I mean.”
You remove the space between you, putting your lips to his and hoping it comes natural like everyone says. It must, because he’s pulling you into his lap, a hint of a whine escaping his throat. You grin, flushing at his eagerness. He squeezes your sides harder, a warning.
“Stop it.”  He continues past your jaw, down your neck, hearts thrumming with excitement and uncertainty. He tilts your head with his thumb, grinning when he nips at your skin and you gasp. Pulling back, he surveys his work, kissing you two more times before letting you breath.
Is that what I’ve been missing out on?” You pant, energy coursing through you and accentuating your buzz tenfold.
“Up to expectations?”
“Exceeded, I’m pretty sure.” You blink hard, taking hold of his wrists and moving them so they can slide under the hem of your shirt. You hold them at your waist, a silent sign to keep them there. Though you’re sure he would have anyway. He kisses you again, more intense this time, finally allowing all the pent up tension between the two of you release.
James, against every fiber of being in his body, pulls you away from him. Both breathing hard to collect yourselves. “While I’d really, really like to keep this up.” He starts, trying not to reconsider when your perfume envelopes his senses. “I’d like to take you out for dinner first. If you’ll let me.”
“Are you asking me on a date, Potter?” You whisper, teasing him as if it’s the hottest gossip to reach Hogwarts.
“Are you gonna say yes, pretty girl? Or leave me hanging?” You nod, and James throws his head back against the cushions, absolutely relieved.
*************
You blink awake, fire still burning brightly after being charmed by Lilly earlier in the evening. In the midst of you and James conversation, filled with recalling old times, plans for the rest of the summer, and a lot more alcohol, you both fell asleep. James’ jumper covers your frame, while the boy lays on the other side with only a sweater to keep warm.
“Prongs.” You nudge him, wincing when he groans. “It’s too cold, let’s go in.”
“Too tired,” he croaks, voice riddled with sleep, “too drunk. Come over on this side.” He rolls on his back, groaning again when the world spins with him.
“What, like...Next to you?”
“No, curled up on the floor like a cat.” Your brows furrow at his sassiness, fighting a smile as you crawl over. Muttering a half-assed apology when you nearly knee his groin.
Hesitantly, you place a head on his chest, letting him grab you under one knee and pulling it up so you leg rests over his abdomen. Immediately, he releases a deep breath, fully relaxed. Your body, though, tingles with that same electricity from before, keeping you awake.
“Sleep.” He orders, nudging the back of your head with his shoulder, eyes closed but somehow aware.
“Can’t.”
“Is this alright?” He blinks awake, afraid he’s made you uncomfortable.
“Good, this is good.” You reassure, pulling on his jumper so it covers both of you. He pushes your arm away, tugging on the fabric and covering only you again, stern in his actions.
“Close your eyes. I need us both to sleep this alcohol off so I can kiss you again.”
“Who says I’ll let you, Potter?”
“I may have been your first kiss, but I’m also aiming to be your last. So please, Dove, shut up and sleep” You’re speechless, he’s stunned you with his confession and simultaneous attitude.
“I hate you.”
“I seriously doubt that.” There’s a smile on his face, you can hear it in his grumbling voice. Wordlessly, he moves the arm that’s under you so he can stroke your cheek, eyebrows, and jaw with the hook of his finger. Knowing the gentle touch will send you off to sleep. And it does, because you don’t wake again until morning.
********
“Rise and shine, love birds. If you want to hoot with the owls, you’ve got to fly with the eagles.” Sirius chimes, a click of a camera sounding out after he speaks.
“Any louder, Pads, and I’ll break your jaw.” James covers your ears, shielding you from your friends shrill laughter with an intense glare. His head pounds something awful, and he’s pretty sure he’s never been this hungover in his entire life. He remembers every second, though, memories of last night bringing a dopey smile to his face. Despite the alcohols consequences.
“Hey.” He nudges your arm, ignoring the gawking of his friends through the glass sliding door as he wakes you. You yawn, stretching atop him and regaining sense of your surroundings.
“Are we supposed to be spinning?” James rolls his eyes, much too fond of you for his own good.
“We have to get up, theres breakfast.”
“I can’t eat a single thing right now.”
“Yes you can,” he pushes you again, sighing in feigned annoyance when you rub your face into his shirt. Shielding the morning light from your eyes. In one swift movement, he sits you both up and hurls you over his shoulder, ignoring your squirms of protest with an obnoxious yawn. He sets you down at the breakfast bar in the kitchen, grumbling a hello to your astonished group of friends. You’re too hungover to feel embarrassed, smiling a thank you to Remus when he slides his glass of orange juice toward you, Sirius’ sunglasses over his eyes.
“Gimme those,” you plead, extending an arm that’s quickly swatted away.
“Get your own,” he whines, “I let you have my juice.” You accept this, nursing the glass as though it’ll save your life.
“Late night?” Lilly teases, putting a plate of food in front of you and James. You both groan, but offer your gratitude for breakfast anyway.
“Figured you would have at least made it inside.” Marlene chastises, amused with your zombie-like states. You frown when James finishes what’s left in your glass, watching as he leans across the counter to grab the carton and refills it. Sirius places a steaming cup of tea in front of you and Potter, avoiding your distrusting gaze as he clears his throat to speak.
He’s awfully cheeky all the sudden, hoisting himself onto the counter with his signature mischievous grin. “Never have I ever…Had my first kiss?” His voice tilts in questioning at the end, and you’re momentarily displeased with the realization you’ll be spending the rest of the summer with the shit-starting bastard you consider a friend.
You’re absolutely flushed, curling in on yourself when a chorus of cheers erupts after taking a swift sip from your mug.

Okay so this idea struck me but feel free not to do it if it makes you uncomfortable or you just don’t want to but my idea was Fem!Muggle!Granger!reader (Hermonies older sister is in their early 20s) x Sirius black smut and it takes place in the 5th year where they are all staying at Grimmauld Place their kinda mean and kinda have that hyperfem/bimbo aesthetic
Maybe she flirts a lot with Sirius when nobody is really paying attention but you can decide how to the rest plays out :)
hey baby! ^^
This idea is awesome but i have no ideas for this at all.
If i did i’d one hundred percent make this a fic, but i already have a Remus X fem!reader fix that’s slowly eating at my brain.

sirius black kisses your forehead. you're out with his friends at a pub and the crowd warrants that you all stand in a tight circle. your elbows are digging into his side. his tall frame is shaking with laughter at something james said when it happens. it's short and sweet, and his big hands are cupping the side of your head facing away from him while he presses his lips to the other. he does it almost without thinking, smooth and casual. he props the hand on your shoulder while you look up at him, knees wobbly at the normalcy of it all. you press a chaste kiss to his knuckles. sirius fails to hide his smile.

'go back to your new boyfriend' with sirus black but sirius and y/n aren't dating yet??
love you work 🤍
Part 2
"We're supposed to be doing this together! Professor Flitwick assigned pairs! You think if we were given the choice, I'd pair up with you?!" Y/n angrily shouted at Sirius.
Sirius scoff's then gives off a humorless laugh. "Please, everyone wants to pair up with me! And I don't get why you're so pissed off, it's not like you'll do anything."
"Has it ever occurred to you that maybe I want to do my homework? Maybe, unlike the bimbo's you hang out with everyday, I want to study and graduate. I want to have a future! And I won't let you -you insufferable twat- take that away from me!"
"That's rich coming from you!" He shouts facing you with an expression of rage that could rival yours.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"I may hang out with 'bimbo's' the whole day but you are the one with a new boyfriend every week! So don't shame me, Y/n, you are just like me!"
"I am certainly nothing like you! And my love life has nothing to do with you!"
"Love life? Love, is that what that is? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It must be exhausting for someone as bitter as you to love someone that long."
Y/n gasped, shocked to silence. Her eyes roamed his face that was inches away from hers, contorted into anger, his grey eyes seemed to have darken yet there was undeniably another emotion laying there.
They stood, staring unblinkingly at each other as if they were in a contest until Sirius gave up and sighed loudly. He cursed under his breath, running his hands down his face.
He slumped down at a nearby chair and began rubbing his temples and forehead, tiredly. As she watched him, in this new light, her eyes took notice to his disheveled state.
From the dark bags under his stormy eyes, to the way his shoulder-length was messed up as if someone kept running their fingers through them all the time, to the way Sirius looked at the ground as if he was having a mental battle.
"Sirius-" She began softly but the wizard cut her off. "Just go." He said tiredly, as he looked up at you with pleading eyes. "Just go, go have fun...Go to your new boyfriend." He said sadly at first but his voice edged at the end, emphasizing at the 'new boyfriend' part.
"I can do the Theory of Animal transfiguration and you can do Human. I'll have it done by tomorrow night." He said, "Just leave, Y/n. I just want to be alone and think right now." He said.
She gave him one last look of concern before nodding slightly to herself. "I'll see you later, Sirius.. Take care.." She said slowly as she left the room and shut the door behind her, almost missing Sirius's voice. "Dammit!" He swore angrily, kicking a nearby chair.
