I think one of the most fucked-up aspects of Dungeon Meshi to me personally is just how nonchalant everyone is about dying. I get that in most cases adventurers can be revived fairly easily (especially when the bodies are fresh) but istg if I got my entire head splattered on the dungeon floor from a monster stepping on me I wouldn't just be okay after being brought back to life lmao.

Whether he was drawn with it or learned it, I feel like he's based on those type of characters from old movies focusing on New York or Chicago gangs (mostly Cagney I would say but he was Irish-American) and there were plenty where the Brooklyn accents had this Italian-American twang. I don't know I like the idea of him conversing with Italian toons or toons drawn in Italy and being able to hold basic conversation. Maybe he even picked up some Spanish too from working with his associate.
