I was thinking, If you were a celebrity for what would you like to be recognized? In my case, aside for my writing I would love to be in the music world or in the field of science making Tesla proud =D

Yuma Isogai

Isogai is a really caring and loving person and he knows better than anyone else that a status doesn't define you as a person, so he doesn't pay much attention on you being a celebrity, he does admire you a lot and respect what you do but he isn't going to treat you different as he will be if you weren't a celebrity

Also, he knows how hard you had work to get to where you are today so he never minimize it or just brush it off and more than once he had told you how much he admires you for it

Isogai will be really worried about you for the pressure of being a celebrity, he almost become your caregiver to make sure you don't overwork yourself or have unhealthy habits, he tries not to if it upsed or bother you but he just can't help it, is just part of him be so caring

Again, he admires you a lot, it doesn't matter too much what you do, either arts, sports or even academics he is really proud of you, he even rant proudly of you every chance he has (even if you get embarrassed or get shy you can't stop him from doing it)

He gets really invested in what you do, celebrate all your victories/achievements, comfort you if something something goes wrong or you lose, always compliment you and thanks your hard work. In his free time Isogai will start to search more about what you do

He can't go to all the presentations/competitions you have but he tries to, and he always ask to your friends if they want to go too (specially when he can't go)

If you do something like sports or art he will talk about you a lot to his siblings (because that is what could be the most interesting for a little child), and he will love for you to visit them too (he wont force you though)

He doesn't really get jealous for the fans but he get wary and protective if he sees someone getting not too friendly or invasive (if you actually have a bodyguard he get more worried about you because that means that you had been in danger, right?). He will help you whenever he can with that kind of situation, but even if he has an assassin training he always tries to solve the problems without violence

Isogai isn't really insecure, but since he is poor and goes to the worst group of the school (doesn't matter if you go to 3-E class too) he from time to time wonder if your relationship is good for your reputation, he loves you with all his heart and he will hate to cause you problems

Karma Akane

Even when Karma finds what you do pretty interesting he isn't going to treat you different from his other friends, and almost the only time he brings up that you are a celebrity is to tease you. He never say it directly or out loud, but he really admire you and wants to know everything he can about whatever you do

Although, since Karma is pretty prideful if you do something that involve academics or sports he will take it as a challenge, sometimes he even directly challenge you. If is something about arts he just enjoy what you do

He loves to be with you whenever you practice or work, but he is always annoying you, teasing you whenever you fail or make an error, and when you get it done well he sometimes says that he wasn't paying attention or congratulate you, however he feels in that moment, but whenever you are in competition/presentation he gets a more serious, all his jokes and teasing can wait for later and just wish you luck not like you need it he says

When you are in a competition or even if you have a rival he will playfuly ask you if you want for him to take care of them (It's a joke but if you want it's not a joke), or start paying a little more attention to them and will tell you their weaknesses if you want, normally he just do it jokinly but if you really want to have that advantage he will do it (for a price of course)

He won't admitted to not even to himself but he is jealous whenever you are with your fans, from both sides because your are getting a lot of attentiona and because you are putting all your attention to others, still he normally don't step in unless someone cross the limits. And, even when he doesn't accept his jealousy you can tell for how he demand attention and affection after, or for how he is saying bad comments about the fans

Actually he start to get a role like your bodyguard, manager and even trainer, he gets so into what you do without having to ask him and he isn't planning to let you alone either, he will let you if you need time alone but you aren't going to be get away from him, he is just really happy to be with you and want to make sure you don't fall in a trap of someone who just wants to take advantage of you

Speaking of, if you already have an employee, like a bodyguard or a manager he will be messing with them all the time (specially the bodyguard), and you can't stop him either, also if he notice that they are planning something that could harm you or directly against you he won't just let it happen, depending on how harmful it could be to you he will just threaten the person or directly tell you

He isn't insecure at all so he doesn't really doubt your relationship even if you are a celebrity, but will respect your wish if you prefer to don't show much of your relationship

Nagisa Shiota

Nagisa doesn't think much of himself and he is already a little flustered for being in a relationship with you, but you being a celebrity make him even more flustered and flattered

He from time to time doubt himself, wondering if he is being a good boyfriend for you or if he isn't just bringing you problems, heck he even wonder if he deserve to be your boyfriend but no matter how much he doubt himself you always comfort him even without knowing it

Nagisa is really interested on what you do and he will try to learn more about it, for example if is a sport he will try to learn the rules and about matches, is if about music he will try to learn more about the rhythms and genres, or if is plastic arts he will try to appreciate more and pay more attention on your work, he really want to get more into on what you do (if you let him)

He is shy to just go to your presentation/competition, doubting if it would be a good idea just go, but everytime you invite him over to it (even if is just practice or when you're working) he always go, and he is always so excited to see you develop in your discipline (if you point it out he will be embarrased about it)

Also, Nagisa is really caring so he is always looking after your well-being, making sure you don't overwork yourself, that you take some breaks from time to time and that you are eating properly, he just want you to don't forget to take of yourself but if you don't (or don't seem to care much about yourself) he will get strict with you and force you to get more healthy habits

He is surprised for seen so much people excited to see you (even if there aren't a lot it still surprise him), he doesn't really get jealous for the fans but he gets a little uncomfortable whenever they get a little too excited and want to be too close to you

Also, he tries to don't distrust people but he is really observant so if he ever sees someone trying to do something weird against you he gets protective and confront that person inmediatly, his assassin training is of help in this situation and he does it almost unconsciously

For being a celebrity is probably that will be a little more easy that his mother accept you or comment that he had made right on getting such an amazing partner, especially if you are focused on sports or academics, but if is something more like arts she will be a little sharp with her words, not really thinking that is something beneficial but without wanting to offend you directly (in the case that is after Nagisa had confronted her she won't say much)

a ranking of trans representation in weeb shit

I was thinking about trans representation in weeb shit so I figured I might as well just rank all of them, from best to worst. this will obviously only include stuff I've seen.

umineko: read umineko(I have another, incredibgly spoilerific post on this here)

ciconia: it's trying, and might end up better than umineko, but only 1/4 of is out and I've read like half of that but I don't think it's gonna come up more after this point in phase 1. but it has so much potential, and has already discussed a lot more than a lot of these, so I feel like second place is where it can be.

zombieland saga: has a trans character who is part of the main idol group, she is never misgendered, and the struggle of dysphoria is at least somewhat addressed, so overall it does nothing wrong and a lot of things right.

punch line: to be fair it's revealed by someone shouting "he's a girl" but otherwise handled with a lot more tact that is expected in anime. also, he's a trans guy, which makes it cooler. for anyone who has now looked up the synopsis of this anime, no I will not take further questions for why this is so high up in my rankings. however, I will confirm that it was solidly good, and I don't regret watching it.

assassination classroom: nagisa shiota was not written as a trans guy. he was not intended to be a trans guy. however, if you interpret him as a trans guy, his story both makes a lot more sense and is more compelling, and also gives free representation. therefore, I will interpret nagisa shiota as a trans guy and no one can stop me.

wonder egg priority: on the one hand, the most direct adressal of the consequences of transphobia I've seen in weeb shit. on the other hand, this is fully caught up in the thematic disaster that wonder egg priority is, with the accidental gender essentialism combining with showing a bunch of cis girls, and then one trans guy, having, uh, problematic implications. but like, as a standalone episode(which it probably wouldn't make sense as but whatever), this would be a lot higher up, probably in second place. maybe even first, since transphobia is probably a bigger issue for most trans people than dysphoria. also I'm pretty sure this and zombieland saga(and maybe ciconia) were the only of these where the author knew what trans people were and went in with the intention of writing one. though, to be clear, I do not recommend watching this anime.

re:zero: okay we're getting into the zone where the trans representation is solidly bad. now, ferris is a trans girl. I have read the relevant lines in japanese, and her "lol I'm a boy nyaa" shtick is clearly a joke, whereas the lines where she implies she feels gender dysphoria are not jokes. the issue is, she was not written as a trans character. she was written as a boy who wants to be a girl. and, like, ferris has been written as a character who is fine being referred to as a boy, but like, she's also fine being referred to as a girl. and she is also just so extremely trans. like at the least trans, she is a femboy who is incredibly personally invested in her identity as such and refuses to wear masculine clothes, which uh, is valid I suppose. I'm still using she/her pronouns to refer to her because I've gotten used to it and it isn't like japanese has gendered third person pronouns in common usage so whatever.

steins;gate: okay so to be fair I have not finished steins;gate. additionally, whether ruka is actually trans is up in the air, much like ferris, but like most people who consider ferris trans also consider ruka trans so they're probably right. and if they are right, then introducing her by having okarin repeatedly state that she's a guy is like the worst possible thing to do. also I think that ruka is the one who started the whole thing of responding to "is [character name] trans" with "no, [character name] is [character name]" which is the most obnoxious and unhelpful response imaginable and has been used for all the above examples, so even if ruka isn't actually trans, steins;gate deserves this spot for introducing that deflection tactic.

intentionally not included: ranma 1/2. ranma is a man who is sometimes trapped in a woman's body for short periods of time. this really isn't comparable to the experience of trans guys. really all it is is wish fulfillment for trans girls. except it's only barely that since while in a girl's body ranma spends all his time searching for hot water to turn back. so like, ranma 1/2 is a pretty trans show, but you can't really point to any one character and be like "that's the trans one". actually, ranma's childhood friend who he thought was a guy but was actually a girl is probably the transest character. I know about this character because I, like most weeb trans girls, watched way too much of this show for the aforementioned wish fulfillment. 97 episodes to be precise. there are so many better things I could have done with my time.

I had an internal conflict regarding FS 2 yesterday morning and wrote something about it. I guess I should warn you that it has spoilers(?

And it's pretty long too

I did this to feel better and take it off of my chest so yeah, you dont have to read it if you dont want to

I remember that the first day I saw it everything was fine. The problem started after the scene where MakoHaruRin are lying by the pool that was conveniently in a cafe(?

I thought something was wrong because the spoilers had me thinking some specific things were to happen

After that I couldn't enjoy it one bit anymore. Yes, I made jokes and everything, like normal, but I felt something strange. More than anything my problem was with Makoto. Like something in him didn't quite fit me.

On the way home I thought how sad it was that Makoto's dialogue had clearly been curtailed. And that distracted me so much that I couldn't process the rest.

I even mentioned this to my friend, and she told me that she didn't see anything, but it was because she was fixated on Rin.

I got discouraged because that problem with Makoto kept bothering me, and after thinking and thinking, I realized that I couldn't even enjoy the rest of the movie just because of this.

So I saw it the next day too, because I couldn't stay like this. Free! it's everything for me and I couldn't feel so bad about the ending because of something I attributed to the influence of spoilers.

Her, the one badly obsessed with an anime of men swimming and of dubious sexual orientation.

The second time I saw it, I really enjoyed it. I pushed all the spoilers and expectations as far from my mind to see if I could see something else. And I did.

It's not perfect, of course not. It has some things that made me say ah:

The fact that Rin told Haruka that he admired him again.

Getting Albert's father visiting Iwatobi.

The very subtle glimpse of Ryuji's friend whose name I don't remember.

That Ryuji said that he was going to save Kaede, but then nothing happens

The lack of more background for Rei, Nagisa and Gou.

That clear lack of dialogue from Makoto. This, more than anything, is the one that makes me feel the saddest even now.

I also missed Kisumi 🥺 I didn't appreciate you bb when i had you

BUT there were a lot of things I enjoyed as well:

The scenes in which they appear in the cinema (ironic) are very cool.

Haruka healing his inner child who has always been hurting for many reasons touched me a lot.

Especially because Haruka is my baby, my child, my little boy 😫🥺 Also, I saw people saying that this one or that one is the villain, but for me the final boss, the real villain of Haruka is Haruka. Blessed be KA who at least sent him to rehab because I've been wanting him to go for YEARS to therapy because Haruka is anything but fine, without discussing if he is depressed or not, or if he is autistic or not, or if he has whatever. He is wrong and let's leave it there.

The fact that Makoto told Haruka that "the you who is free is the one I like the most" was also very nice for me

It's not like Haruka reacted by blushing or something, but at least I saw that it stuck in his mind and that means to me that it's something important.

The fact that Rin went all pissed off to argue with Ryuji for putting Haruka to rest and then Ryuji told him all the bad things he have been doing to his face was satisfying for me. I love Rin, cute boy, but sometimes he does really stupid things and someone needed to put a "stay still" on him and I'm so glad he thought it over(? Although we go back to the fact that he told Haruka that he admires him when it's something we already knew. But then we have Haruka who realizes that okay, Rin left him traumatized, but he also taught him several things

I like how everyone always had Haruka at an altar and everyone said he was a "Hero", but we see that he is not. Haruka is as human as any of them and I like that it's not just one of them (as was the case with Asahi in HS when Haruka passed out) the one to notice

And it is when everyone tries to return the favor not only out of moral duty(? To settle accounts(? But out of genuine love for him (as a friend or partner you decide I am not going to discuss this in this post or in any other) that my heart was crushed.

Haruka is a bit like Makoto. He's not fully aware of the positive effect he has on people or how cool he is, and I don't think he cares either (? As long as he's not having a negative effect on others he's fine (?

I liked that the relay was Sou, Rin, Ikuya and Haruka. It's as if Haruka is closing cycles with his biggest problems (including him because he is the BIGGEST of his problems. Give him therapy and let him go)

I liked the scene of Makoto giving him the last push

I really liked Ryuji as a character, although he also needs therapy.

I liked that Haruka finally found his way to himself and got his freedom. Taking breaks from competitions is very important and intelligent to me

I liked that it ended with Haruka and Rin because for me they will always be the protagonists. And that they finally, FINALLY, are in good terms is everything

Ikuya and Rin winning medals. Sousuke swimming again and competing with Rin. Natsuya proud of his little brother

And yes, I even liked that Asahi had bumps in his career as an athlete. Maybe I would have liked to see a little more, but yes. No matter how hard you try or how talented you are, sometimes it's not enough.

I liked the scenes with the grandmother although they are not as great a thing. I liked the detail of the misangas (?

I liked that Haruka was finally independent of everyone, except himself xd but hey, you can't do much with that

I liked that they showed Haruka's letter that he made together with Rei, Nagisa and Makoto in high school

Perhaps it is more of the same as the other productions, but I am a simple woman to please.

I also want to clarify that I miss the best time distribution of each character a bit. But it doesn't bother me that much either, except for the Makoto thing in FS 2

Damn it 😫 I knew they were going to reduce Makoto's dialogues, but I still got sad

I know Tatsu wasn't right, but I don't feel like he should be punished either. No more than they divorced him at most 👀 but nothing is up to us qjbdns

Anyway I enjoyed every second I saw my love Makotito. Makoto could be only on the cover and I would adore him as if the whole movie was just him (? but I also feel that Makoto's scenes are still important to Haruka.

I think I did like it a lot, I could even say that I loved it but it's hard to me to accept that it's the end, and I have to be honest that I was expecting even more from this movie regarding some characters (Gou, Nagisa, Rei, Ryuji and his friend, and of course Makoto)

But no, i dont want another movie nor season. Maybe I can accept an OVA or something but it must be centered on Nagisa, Gou, Rei, Ryuji, Kaede and Albert.

For me, I cant say it is perfect, but it's really good. I loved it, I enjoyed it but I still have to process some things about it. It's a good end, i believe

This helped me to feel i little bit better about all this end thing.

I still miss my boys and loved them, and I love Free!

What wonderful news. Isn't that great? The fact that I can have such an impact on your life must mean I've become pretty significant to you, no?

Hiyori: Yes, only now. You see, when it came to my family, it never really mattered to them whether I was there or not. Well, I was the one who chose this way of life, I suppose.

TOP 5 MH SCENES, LET'S GO! :)

My brain shut down trying to think about this because there are so many great moments (plus mooks and drama cds and interviews and novels and—) 😩

💚💙 In no particular order, here are my current top 5 makoharu moments from the show 💙💚

1) The entire pool scene confession (High Speed). From Haru’s admission of “Makoto should just be Makoto” to Makoto’s admission that at his core he’s someone who loves swimming but also his best friend, this moment (or collection of moments; I’m lumping the stairs and swimming scene altogether) is so indicative of their dynamic throughout the series. One of the factors that draws me to Free! is (as cheesy as it sounds) the power of friendship and the indescribable bonds you can create with people through a shared sport/experience. All of the scenes I’m going to be talking about are ones that show how makoharu interactions are pillars throughout the series that remind the audience that the pool only matters because it’s a place where the characters can embrace themselves and their own greatness.

2) The airport scene after the Australia trip (Eternal Summer). A lot of my favorite scenes are ones we talk about all the time, but they are genuinely such good scenes!! It’s one of those moments that just punches me in the soul because it’s a small fleeting moment to everyone around them: a simple welcome home in a bustling airport. However, it is this pivotal moment of reassurance in their relationship because despite their fight, despite the growing distance between them, despite their fears and everything else, Makoto makes one thing clear with his soft words and warm gaze: he still has his hand outstretched and ready to hold onto his best friend, wherever they go next. It’s a gesture of forgiveness and understanding without an apology even being voiced, and it still floors me how well Makoto is able to show Haru that the world isn’t falling apart and that he truly is so, so loved.

3) “I felt so happy, just like you!” + goldfish (Free! ISC). I love getting to see them talk at the festival because it shows their connection at its finest. Makoto gives Haru time to try and work through his feelings about losing to Rin and winning the relay at prelims on his own, but now that they have a moment alone, Makoto is able to gently push Haru forward by voicing how happy he was getting to swim a relay again, and it’s just enough for Haru to feel comfortable enough to voice everything he’s been silently trying to piece together. They both just look so happy after getting to voice how much it means to each other to swim together again (y’know, for the 5 seconds they have before Nagisa barges in). And also THE GOLDFISH!! Haru was on a mission to get those fish before they left for the night and it seems like such a kind gesture. I can’t help but think it has extra meaning just for Makoto to pick up on from Haru, referencing the old goldfish. It’s like he’s saying “hey, look at you, always figuring out how to take care of us as a captain/friend. I always had faith in that side of you.”

4) “Am I really Ikuya’s hero?” (Free! DTTF). The makoharu dynamic in S3 after everything that happened in S2 is so nice because they seem so comfortable and in tune with each other again. This scene stands out to me in particular because Makoto has no problem teasing Haru a bit in front of Asahi and Ikuya while easily understanding Ikuya’s dynamic with Haru. Makoto has endless patience even as Haru sits there confused, wondering how people see him as a hero. In Haru’s mind, I feel like he sees the people in his life as either friends or rivals. Sure, people have seen him as a prodigy or whatever for his swimming prowess, and that has led to compliments and threats, but to be a hero? It’s hard to wrap his head around. However, for Makoto, it makes perfect sense. He’s had a front row seat all his life to the hundreds of eyes that have followed Haru, enraptured in how he connects with the water and finds freedom in it. He’s seen over and over how it inspires people to work harder or step back and appreciate their teammates/friends. Above all else, he’s gotten to see sides of Haru that others rarely do, like how he’s always tried to protect Makoto and look out for his friends in his own subtle ways, and get to consider him a hero in his own right.

5) “It’s meaningless without you” (Free! ISC). It’d be wrong to not mention this scene, y’know? Episode 6 is a turning point for the team as a whole, but it’s such a big one for makoharu specifically because both Makoto and Haru take time to explicitly show how much they care for each other. Makoto does so much up to this point with other people in mind, but now that he’s been freaked out to his wit’s end, he can’t help but tell Haru exactly how he feels. Despite his fear of the ocean, he was willing to go ahead with the training camp because his dream from when they were little kids is still his dream now. He wants to swim and he wants to experience the euphoria of a relay with friends again, but above all, he wants to share in that joy with his best friend. He’s ripped open in this moment and just wants Haru to see how much his happiness means to him and how he isn’t just a replaceable team member or figure in his life — he’s Haruka, and that means everything to Makoto. Nagisa interrupts the moment ~again~ but bonus points to this episode/moment for showing Haru being extra protective and looking out for Makoto the whole time.

Honorable mentions: Haru’s brief apology to Makoto before the tournament + listening to Makoto’s dream, all baby!makoharu montages, nagisa dragging Haru to watch Makoto race prelims and Haru just staring at him swim like 👁👄👁, the entirety of TYM, the way they just look at each other sometimes, etc. etc. etc.

The air was stilted when Sugino and Nagisa trudged home, the only noises cutting through their tense mutual silence were soft footsteps emitted by trainer-clad feet. Usually that was not the case. Usually, their walks home from school were the highlight of Nagisa’s day - where he can hang out with his best friend after another day of hating every single thing about 3-E and just talk about whatever they wanted to with no judgement whatsoever. Usually, Sugino would look at him with fond amusement instead of doing everything he could to avoid his eyes. However, usually, Nagisa didn’t try to blow himself up in front of the entire class.

‘He’s mad at me,’ Nagisa thought, swallowing as he gripped the strap of his schoolbag tighter, ‘I made him mad. And now I’ve lost another friend.’

He supposes he should have seen it coming - he had the ability to drive people away. It’s just that, well, he didn’t think that it would’ve been so soon. His dad left when he was eight, Karma after a few months of knowing him - he’d only been helping Sugino practice his baseball pitches for two weeks and he’d already mucked it up.

“I’m not mad at you,” Sugino’s voice cut into his self-deprecating thoughts, effectively stopping the downward spiral that Nagisa knew was coming. Great, another reason why Sugino should not want to be around him. Nagisa spared a glance at the other boy only to find that said boy was frowning at the floor. His eyes darted downwards to see that his friend’s(? is he even allowed to call him that now?) free hand was clenched at his side, like he was trying to hold back a paroxysm of emotion. Nagisa did that. He made the calm, perpetually smiling Sugino Tomohito - the only person since first year who approached a nobody like him and wanted to be his friend - almost lose his composure, “you’re thinking so loudly that I can practically hear your thoughts, you know.”

“You seemed pretty mad,” Nagisa whispered under his breath, voice so small and fragile he was amazed that it didn’t break. He remembered how after the … incident, Sugino turned to him and told him to get ready to walk home with a terseness that the blunette wasn’t even aware the baseball lover was capable of. The look on his face was so serious - it was as if the softer edges of his face became sharper, more refined, and it honestly scared him. At least when his mum shifted, it was predictable, he was used to it, but with Sugino, he felt as if a bucket of ice water was dumped onto his head. His head was hung low, waiting for the blow to strike, for Sugino to tell him that he was too much, that he can’t be friends with someone who was as crazy as him, that his mum was right - he was nothing but a burden-

“I’m mad,” Sugino stated, “but not at you. I’m mad at Terasaka and his gang for even thinking of making you a suicide bomber, for just disregarding your life like that - like-like you were disposable. I’m mad at whatever it was that made you think that you should go along with it. I’m mad at the fact that I just watched my best friend blow himself up and I couldn’t do anything about it. And I’m mad at the fact that you looked so confused when it was over.”

“Wha-what?” Nagisa spluttered out. Of all the things he was expecting to hear, it certainly wasn’t that. Sugino was breathing heavily, face scrunched up, and his clenched fists were shaking. Nagisa stopped himself from saying anything that might make things worse.

“You think I didn’t see your face when Koro-Sensei saved you? Like you weren’t expecting it? Like it surprised you?” Sugino looked at him, navy eyes glistening with a thousand emotions, “Like when you tied that grenade around your neck, you weren’t expecting to wake up?”

“I-” and what could Nagisa say to that? That Sugino was wrong? That it was all a big misunderstanding and that he’s reading too much into an assassination attempt that would’ve saved the world? That no one would’ve noticed anyway?

“Did you hear? Nagisa’s headed for E-Class.”

That no one would have cared?

“I better delete his email from my address book. Don’t want people to think that I associate with him.”

That no one wants to be around him?

“Dad, where are you going?”

“I’m sorry, Nagisa. I just can't stay here anymore.”

That he’s not good enough?

“Hey, Karma do you-”

“Nagisa, I told you. I’m busy.”

“Bu-but we haven’t hung out in weeks. Did I do any-”

“Nagisa, just go away and leave me alone.”

“Oh, I-I’m sorry for disturbing you.”

That all he does is mess up and it would be much better without him?

“Because of you my evaluation is ruined,” Kensaku-Sensei snarled, glaring at him like he was worse than the animal faeces that stuck to the bottom of his shoe, “The only good thing about this is that I never have to see your face again.”

“Nagisa?” Sugino was looking at him now, lone tears trailing down his cheeks, “why did you look so confused?”

“I didn’t expect him to see me.” Nagisa confessed softly.

“Huh?”

“No one’s ever seen me before,” Nagisa took a gulp and went on, “I-I didn’t think that he would save me.”

“Why wouldn’t he?” Sugino asked, eyebrows furrowed, “if he didn’t, you would’ve been in the point blank range of an explosion. You could've died.” at Nagisa’s downcast expression, he continued, “but you knew that didn’t you? You’re good at reading people but not even you could’ve known that he can shed his skin.”

“I’m just surprised that he would’ve gone through the trouble,” Nagisa muttered under his breath.

“I’m going to pretend that you didn’t just say that because that’s a conversation I don’t want to have on the street,” the other remarked. Then, with a heavy sigh, the taller boy turned to him, placing a hand on his shoulder, “I just watched my best friend nearly die today and I don’t think I’ve ever been more scared in my life.”

“Sugi-”

“And it’s not like I could’ve stopped it or talked him out of it or anything. It all happened so quickly that I was only aware of what happened after the dust died down and I couldn’t see him standing anymore. And you know what I thought? I thought that I lost him. I thought that whilst I was here, thinking about my stupid tentacle poem, the only person that’s ever made an effort to befriend me and care about me since I got sent to 3-E was planning on ending his life just because of some stupid mission. Was I really that bad of a friend that he didn’t even think that I would miss him, that I would be absolutely devastated to spend the rest of my life coming to school and looking at his desk, forever knowing that he won’t be sitting there anymore, that I would never get to talk with him, laugh with him, play with him and do any of the other things that make this god-forsaken building class bearable? I must have really let him down if he didn’t think that.”

“Sugino, that’s not true,” Nagisa shook his head, eyes welling up slightly, “you’re-you’re an amazing friend. It’s just-”

“Next time,” Sugino cut in, face and voice deadly serious, whilst tightening the grip on the shorter boy’s shoulder, “you even think about doing something that could endanger yourself even slightly, you are coming directly to me. Koro-Sensei was right when he said that you don’t even care about your own safety, so it looks like I’m just going to have to do the caring for you until you learn just how amazingly important you are.”

“Sugino,” Nagisa sighed, knowing for a fact that if he continued to talk, the waterworks would come flooding.

“Can I hug you?” Well, he wasn’t going to say no to that. Not after all he put Sugino through earlier.

When the baseball lover wrapped his arms around him, Nagisa felt like melting into that warmth. It was such a stark contrast to the cold emptiness he felt earlier that he almost laughed. Slowly and tentatively, he brought his own arms around the other, bringing them both closer and feeling more loved in those few seconds than he had ever done in the last few months. He could feel a starling wetness start to form on his shoulder from where Sugino had nuzzled his face in and a comforting hand move up and down the length of his spine.

“You matter, alright?” Sugino whispered, voice cracking at the edges, “I don’t know what exactly got into your head to make you think that you don’t, but you do. So don’t ever think that you’re not worth anything because you are and if you weren’t there, I don’t know what I would do.”

And, well, Nagisa didn’t know how exactly to reply to that so he just nodded against Sugino’s chest.

“Hey, Nagisa?” Sugino said, after a while, leaning back.

“Yeah?”

“Let’s go get some sushi.”

Nagisa looked right at his best friend’s face, seeing hope mixed with a few other feelings embedded in his features, and he sighed. With a small barely-there smile just about making an appearance on his own face, he said, “sure. I think I’ll like that.”

What a Sleepover

Okay, so I may or may not be plotting some headcannons for Zuko 👀👀

BUT, in the meantime- I must push this fic out because I've been thinking of it for a while!

Also, small psa. Just because two dudes are having a sleepover, hugging, holding hands etc. does not mean they're into each other, or gay. Same goes for females, we all just need affection sometimes and shouldn't have to be dating to do so!

Summary: Karma and Nagisa are having a sleepover because that's what best friends do :)

It was the last class before a well deserved free day. Well, it feels very well deserved.

It was a rough week of extra training not to mention crammed-in study sessions for the following tests. Finally, about ten minutes until school's was done for.

Nagisa was just bouncing his leg in excitement, especially because he is going to go home with Karma.

It wasn't very often they got to hang out anymore, so he was going to take this sleepover and enjoy it. And everything else can go shove it.

So yeah, Nagisa was quite excited. It was a time to just be stress-free. Not just from the normal teenage stress, but the stress placed on their shoulders about the end of the world.

So, when the bell finally rung, it took every bit of will power not to whoop. Instead, he said his goodbyes to Kaede like the gentlemen he is.

He then, packed his things, walking towards Karma's desk.

"You ready to go?" He asked.

"Yeah, give me one second." Karma replied, pulling his back over his shoulder. "Okay, you won't mind if we stop by the store real quick? I want to pick out a few things before we head to my house."

"Yeah, we can go." Nagisa said as they began to walk out the door together. "What are you gonna get?"

"Just some snacks, I don't know. If you see something you like, tell me."

Nagisa just nodded as they continued to their journey to the store. It was mostly accompanied by silence, but it was nice silence. Just listening to some music they've recently found with the occasional bob to the beat.

Once they finally made it to the store, Nagisa just followed behind Karma.

"You cooking tonight?" Nagisa asked seeing Karma picking out some beef.

"Yeah, I was planning on making some beef curry. Unless you wanna order."

"Nah, I always prefer your cooking."

"Damn right."

They got to the isle filled with snacks, Karma just let Nagisa pick out a few.

"Imagine if your parents were here." Nagisa mentioned making the other snort.

"God, they'd lose their shit. I mean sure they're gone but they're... something." Karma huffed, shaking his head.

Nagisa could remember the first time he met Karma's family, it was strange to say at the least. They were putting Karma on a strict diet, despite the fact that he was already skinny. It was just strange.

"Has it ever bothered you?" Nagisa asked suddenly.

"Huh?"

"Uh, I mean, them being gone all the time. Does it bother you? Like don't you get lonely sometimes?"

"Not really, it's weird. I don't miss them if that's what you're asking."

"When was the last time they were here?"

"Uh, shit I dunno. A little before I was suspended last year."

"Shit."

"Oh don't worry, it's freeing if anything. It's nice. I'm not a people person."

"I know, I know. But still."

"How about, worry about yourself and your own jackass of a mother." Karma said lightly punching Nagisa's head.

He always does that.

"Well, welcome to my humble abode. You already know where everything is and whatnot. Do me a favor, set something up to watch while I make dinner, will ya?"

"You got it chef Karma." Nagisa soluted then retreated to the living room getting something to watch.

Long story short, Karma finished cooking, they ate it and it was absolutely delicious.

Like what couldn't he do?

They then watched some fun stuff, did whatever they felt like until they set up camp in the living room. Aka, Karma getting blankets and pillows, and for them to wrestle who got the couch and floor.

Then they just talked, talked about some woke shit, but not really woke shit ya know?

"Terasaka's a bitch." Karma blurted.

"You're an even bigger bitch." Nagisa retorted, snorting at the random statement.

"Hey, at least I take pride into it."

Nagisa just changed his position slightly by resting his head on Karma's stomach (they're resting like a T) Hey, bromance. It was normal, Karma wasn't very touchy feely but Nagisa was and Karma had to accommodate. Basically, Karma didn't have a say but he didn't really care. It was nice having someone trust him like that.

"This year is crazy." Nagisa said just staring into the ceiling.

"And it's not gonna be any less crazy any time soon."

"You think we're actually going to kill him?"

"Depends."

"On?"

"On how sappy everyone gets."

"But we have to."

"There could always be another way. It always bothered me when Koro Sensei said that he blew up the moon and will to the earth. What is stopping him? He could've done it a long time ago when even the higher ups can't do shit. How come he's now giving us -fucking students of all people- a deadline. He could take us all out as easily as a blink of an eye, what it stopping him?"

"Should we ask him?" Nagisa asked, making Karma bark out a laugh.

"Absolutely the fuck not."

Nagisa just hummed in response. Karma then just sighed obnoxiously.

"I'm bored."

"What do you wanna do?"

"I dunno."

"You don't know?"

"Nope, entertain me."

"By...?"

"Wearing one of my mom's dresses."

"Fuck no!" Nagisa yelped, sitting up.

"What? It'd just be you in your final form."

"You're an ass."

"Ouch, I'm truly hurt. You've wounded me deeply Nagisa!" Karma said clutching his heart, turning to his side covering his head with a pillow. "Just leave me here wounded to such painful words you've set upon me."

Nagisa just scoffed, poking his side making him yelp sitting up quickly.

"Oi!" He pouted.

"What?" Nagisa asked pretending to be concerned.

"And you're calling me an ass?"

"You wanna see this 'ass'."

"Not really, I can already smell it." He snickered.

"Oh yeah?" Nagisa said putting his hands up. Karma catches them pushing them away from him.

"Nagisa, I will rock your shit."

"Yeah? And I can do the same."

"Sure thing pipsqueak."

"You'll apologies for that."

"Will I?" Karma said pretending to think for a few seconds, "I don't think so."

"You're so gonna get it."

"Yeah, whatcha gonna do about it?"

Nagisa then quickly let go of Karma's hands, tweaking his sides.

"Hey!" He yelped, "That's cheating!"

"How so, modern problems call for modern solutions."

"You did not just say that-" He cut himself off as he saw Nagisa snake his hands towards him. "Okay, we're not gonna do that!" He said pushing Nagisa's arms away from him.

"Why not?" Nagisa snickered, "Is it because little Karma's too ticklish?"

"Nagisa, shut the fuck up." He fumed, his face starting to get red.

"Awwe this is adorable." Nagisa was loving this, after all those times Karma embarrassed him to no end.

"Fuck oHOFF!" He yelped as Nagisa quickly started to squeeze his sides.

Did he fuck off? Nope. If anything, he continued to squeeze his sides. This made Karma fall not so gracefully onto his back. he was slapping and swatting his arms aimlessly at Nagisa, pulling at his hands trying desperately to pull him off.

"STOHOHOP NAGISA!" He screeched, laughing loudly and uncontrollably. He was squirming around as much as he could, trying to buck Nagisa off but the boy was determined.

"What's wrong? I thought you were said you were gonna 'rock my shit'." Nagisa teased. It was hilarious how easy it was to tease Karma.

The redhead was trying. Key word: trying, to retaliate by jabbing his fingers at Nagisa's ribs. Only reason it didn't work was because it actually hurt a bit. Thank god for Karma losing all sense of control when being tickled.

"Oh yeah? Do you think you're in any position to try that?" Nagisa asked, snaking his hands to the hollows of Karma's underarms.

He squealed, arching his back, elbows locked to his sides and laughter reducing slightly to giggles. It's his least ticklish spot, but it still keeps him going strong. He was able to spout out a string of curses and demands of stopping to Nagisa, but all fruitless.

This however, gave Nagisa full access to the spot he knows kills Karma: stomach.

As soon as his hands had even made contact to his shaking abdomen, Karma screeched.

"NOHODON'TPLEAHAHAHA-" He pleaded. He was trying his best to throw the smaller boy off him. However, it was deeming incredibly difficult with the unbearable sensations that spreaded all throughout his stomach. Nagisa made sure to squeeze every bit of his midsection before briefly traveling to his ribs.

He drilled his fingers between his bones without mercy.

"Are you going to apologize for calling me a pipsqueak?" Nagisa asked digging at his stomach again, making him squeal with every vibrating movement.

He knew that Karma could barely speak a proper sentence, but this was very fun.

What was more fun was seeing a bit of skin from his shirt that rode up from all the rustling. Nagisa tried to grab his hands with one hand, not very successful but better then not trying. His other went under Karma's shirt clawing at his twitching stomach making his laugh come out more panicked.

"Sorry, I can't really hear you." Nagisa grinned, vibrating his hand right around his navel making Karma nearly jump out his skin. His laughter went in and out of being silent. Nagisa felt bad and relented his attack.

The redhead in turn was panting out a few giggles holding his midsection.

"Gohod, you're such a dick."

"Meh, maybe. But you deserved it you mega dick."

"Whatever." He waved off Nagisa, sitting up. He turned his head to the blue boy. "You know I'm gonna get you back."

Nagisa just sighed pumping the air deflated, "Worth it."

"Well, I'm getting snacks and you aren't having shit."

"Why must you be so cruel?" Nagisa sobbed. Karma just chuckled walking to the kitchen.

Karma although wasn't a big fan of getting tickled the shit out of him, it was nice to let loose every once in a while. If course he isn't going to say that though.

thoughts on free! s3? what do you think went wrong/right/what you wish it would’ve went etc

I could quite literally go on FOREVER about season 3 and y’know what you asked for it so I’m just gonna ramble until I feel good about it lmao.

Now first I have to say that I wholeheartedly love season 3 with the deepest passion in my bones. I genuinely didn’t think that we were ever going to GET a season 3 in the first place, so the fact that it exists is just... so meaningful to me as someone whose favorite franchise is Free! and someone whose life was saved by these dumbass swimmers.

I will say that season 3 isn’t what I wanted from it. I wanted it to be centered on Nagisa, Rei, Gou, Sousuke, Ai, and Momo. I love Haru with my entire being but I really really REALLY wanted to see a series centered on the Iwatobi trio. They’re so underrated and I felt like they were lowkey sidelined in Eternal Summer so I wanted to see them shine and grow together in their third year. But of course Kyoani has just been setting them aside more and more as time has gone on so I feel like that was nothing but a hopeless dream lmao. I have a lot of headcanons and AUs about what went on with everyone who was still in Iwatobi while the rest of the gang was in Tokyo. The little bits that Kyoani gave us of them were beautiful, I will admit. Episode 11 is my FAVORITE episode of season 3. The fact that Rei WON A NATIONAL RACE??? Like, come on. I wish we could’ve seen the work that he put in to even be able to do that in the first place. That moment where he ponders what he’ll be doing after high school really gets to me too because I would love to know what the fuck he and the others are gonna do. I wish we could’ve seen the moments in their third year that led to whatever decisions they will make. I wanted to see the Iwatobi trio go through the absolute wringer together lmao. I wanted angst I wanted to see their journey that led them to where they are now. I wanted to see more of them growing with the new trio too. I wanted to learn more about Gou and Sousuke’s past through their interactions in her third year. If the season was longer I feel like they could’ve had it be half the Iwatobi arc and half the Tokyo arc, y’know what I mean?

Nonetheless, I love season 3 for what it was. I’m so beyond happy that they brought in Asahi, Ikuya, Natsuya, and Nao, you have no idea. The High Speed! characters hold such a special place in my heart. I wish Asahi would’ve had more of an arc/character development though, and I wish Nao was more included. I think Natsuya’s character arc was my favorite of the whole season. Seeing the trash traveling man that he had become and his interactions with Rin and Sousuke really stuck with me for some reason. And that line that he had when he was talking to Ikuya and fucking crying like, “a dream to fight for my strength and pride, plain and simple.” That shit fucked me up bro. We all meme about Natsuya a lot but I feel like there’s a lot of deeper shit there that’s yet to be explored. When we met Ryuuji I was genuinely convinced that he was Ikuya and Natsuya’s father because it would explain a lot about Natsuya’s behavior. A trash dad who wasn’t really there for his family and just kinda fucked off to travel the world training swimmers until he found one that met his expectations? That would’ve added so much to Natsuya and Ikuya’s background stories and their character arcs. Like can you imagine? Natsuya not initially going into professional swimming because the fact that his father LEFT to find a swimmer to train instead of training his own damn son because he didn’t see that potential in him??? Natsuya being inspired by Ikuya to work hard to prove their father wrong??????? Nao punching Ryuuji square in the nose the moment he sees him???????????? A fucking gold mine that Kyoani could’ve dove into, but no he’s related to Shizuru lmao.

I could go on forever about Natsuya in season 3 cuz I just really, really loved his arc but I’m gonna keep rolling haha. Hiyori was probably the most unexpected thing from season 3 and I just... love him so much. Like his absolute snakey behavior gave me the same chills that that scene of Sousuke pushing Haru against a vending machine in episode 2 of Eternal Summer gave me. I LOVE that shit. The Free! antagonists just keep getting bitchier and bitchier lmao. I also relate to Hiyori on a deeper level. I too have been selfishly protective of my best friends in a way that... really just wasn’t the way to go. Like jeez Hiyori I understand how you feel but maybe let them talk to Ikuya at least once??? Chill with the possessiveness? Idk I know Hiyori is the source of a lot of discourse lol, but that’s just how I feel because of my own similar experiences with myself and others who’ve acted in a similar way. I do wish his beef at the other boys wasn’t solved by just fuckin... swimming with Haru lmfaoooooo. Like I wish they just would’ve added more to his conversation with Ikuya when he asked him to join the relay with him.

I was quite satisfied with Rin’s arc in season 3. It just like, made perfect sense to me I guess lmao. I know he wasn’t there much but I don’t know what else they could or should have done with him, if that makes sense. The fact that his coach is Ai’s uncle is just the best thing ever too lmao.

I was also very happy with Haru’s arc actually!! Seeing how much he has grown makes me feel like a proud mom. Ya boi is tired of the bullshit and the miscommunication haha. Of course I’ll always wish he didn’t go into pro swimming but alas, gotta deal with it I guess. I love his dynamic with Ryuuji and the way that he has dealt with pro swimming though. And his decision to go into the individual medley absolutely made me lose my mind. I didn’t know I needed to see him swim the other strokes until it happened and I just, I loved that so muchhh.

I alsooooo enjoyed Ikuya’s arc. Seeing someone from your past again like that can 100% have that effect on you. I just kinda wish we understood more about like, why he just randomly faints while swimming sometimes? I feel like they didn’t solidly explain it? Cuz I don’t think it was always from overworking himself. Idk maybe I’m just a dumbass and remembering incorrectly.

Kisumi deserved better. YOU CAN’T TELL ME THIS BOY DOESN’T HAVE UNDERLYING ANGST THAT KYOANI HASN’T DELVED INTO. He gave us that line of “We’ll never make friends like the ones we had back then” and then him worrying about whether or not there was anything he could do to help with the Ikuya situation. This boy feels left out and you can’t tell me otherwise and it is 100% because of the fact that he’s not a swimmer. Someone give this boy a basketball team that he can experience that kind of bond with PLEASE. I AM BEGGING ON MY KNEES!!!

Makoto also deserved better. Like, okay, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved his arc with the kids and Nao and all that. I love his new dream. BUT!!! Kyoani has yet to go into depth with his insecurities with Haru. I’m still not over that damn dream he had on that bus. All we got in season 3 was Makoto’s aNGSTY looks when it came to his relationship with Haru lmao. GIVE MAKOTO A BIGGER ROLE AND A BIGGER ARC DAMMIT. He’s one of the most popular characters I’m surprised his angst hasn’t been touched on more. This dumbass just needs to stop holding things in i SWEAR TO GAWD.

I thought the inclusion of Albert was kinda weird, dunno what the point of him is aside from making Haru shake in his bones. Kinjou is definitely interesting. He scares me lmao, but I am here for that. Give us an antagonist who is just absolutely unhinged at this point LMAO. I have some headcanons about him too but I feel like the new movie coming up is going to crush my dreams soooo yeah.

Isuzu is a goddess. I’m so happy she’s finally here and she has a name and a FACE. We learned that the Mikoshiba bros had a sister before we even knew that Momo existed lmao (Sei mentioned her in a drama cd from season 1). I almost thought they were never going to give her to us but she’s here and she’s beautiful and she’s everything that I wanted her to be. I’m so happy she thinks Gou is cute and that GOU LIKES HER and I just ugh yes thank you so much Kyoani I never expected that we’d actually get this but I’m so happy we have it. I hope she goes to Hidaka Uni and gets to race Haru like she wanted haha. And I’m so happy we got to see her swim! Our first in-anime female swimmer with a name. I love her.

Speaking of FEMALE SWIMMERS. Sighhhhhh.... My biggest disappointment. Aki Yazaki. Where is she? We deserve her!! I promise we do!! She was SUCH an important character in the High Speed! novels and kyoani decided that she just doesn’t exist anymore lmao (biggest reason why I’m not the biggest fan of the Starting Days movie). At this point I’ve lost hope that she’ll ever be included in the anime, and it makes me so sad. I love her so much and there’s so much potential for an amazing beautiful story arc with her if she reunited with the boys. I don’t think we’re going to get a season 4, (the new movie is scaring me making me think it’s the end of the series with the way it’s been advertised...) but if we DID get one I imagine it beginning with Haru walking through a snowy day, huddling close to himself to shelter from the cold, when he passes by a tall figure and catches a glimpse of familiar caramel hair with a loose little braid peeking out from behind one ear and a large scarf that has gotten quite messed up over years of wear and tear, a memory clicks in his mind like a light switch and he stops in his tracks to turn around and let a long forgotten name slip from his lips: “Yazaki Aki?” ... cue opening sequence. LIKE WOULDN’T THAT BE SO AMAZING???????? I WOULD FUCKING SHIT MYSELF OKAY YOU DON’T UNDERSTANDDDD. Aki is one of my favorite characters I’m so mad she wasn’t in season 3. I’m also mad that Satomi Nii wasn’t there either like!!! She would make a great trio with Ikuya and Hiyori that’s all I’m sayinggggg. I would probably start crying if either of them showed up at some point like genuinely I would just be a mess sobbing on the floor. ALSO I FEEL LIKE GOU AND ISUZU WOULD ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM LIKE PLS GIVE ME THE GIRLS THAT WE DESERVE!!!

The art style of season 3 was pretty good. The only thing that bothered me about it was how fucking WIDE the characters’ shoulders were sometimes. Especially with the big bois like Makoto and Sousuke. Like please god no stop that. I’m always gonna miss the art style from season 1 tho, the crazy expressions n shit that were there were just too GOOD lmao. I feel like in season 3 they kind of attempted to bring that back but it just wasn’t executed the same and done to the same extent. R.I.P. the comedy from season 1, it will be forever missed.

I love the opening and ending themes, always. So fucking good. I’m so happy all the characters were included in the end theme animation sequence. I’ll never get over Gou and her BEAUTY.

ANYWAYS. Those are my thoughts in the general sense. Idk if I forgot anything because I have so many thoughts that’re all unorganized haha. Hope’s Peak Elementary, Room 109

“Jeez, where is he? He hasn’t showed up in two days! What a dumb little boy! Dummy, he is! Leader, he’s not!”

A pink-haired girl pouted, talking like a character from one of the movies that the kids have watched together while they had free time, and pointing a finger against one of the posters of her in one of the plays she partook in on the wall, talking to others as she gazed around the room with her usual playful and teasing energy that she brought out.

“I don’t know… but he probably left because he hates me and thinks I’m so ugly… and do you ever wonder what it’d be like to splatter against the road…?” A masked boy replied to the girl, even though she wasn’t exactly asking anyone in particular. He had a bit of a habit of jumping into conversations uninvited, and well, the topics that he’d bring up that were usually unrelated to whatever the conversation he walked in on would usually be met by “uh-huh”.

“Jeez, I wasn’t talking to you! But yeah, maybe you’re right. You are pretty gross, you know. Ewww!” The pink girl replied as she capped her sentence off with an overly dramatic yell of disgust, much to the masked boy’s displeasure but also… somewhat enjoyment? The blue haired boy never really truly understood how his way of thinking worked, but he’d do his best to do so if it makes him feel better. And besides, he needed Jataro to snap out of that way of thinking anyways, it’s unhealthy.

“Kotoko, that’s so rude. Monaca doesn’t like it when her friends don’t get along, you know.” A girl in a wheelchair pouted, as she had a childishly annoyed expression on her face that stared down the pink haired girl.

“Ah- no no no! I’m so sorry, Monaca! Please forgive me, I was just kidding! I didn’t mean to make you upset, I was just trying to make Jataro upset- wait, no! I mean, like-“ She was halted from speaking as a finger pressed against her lip, and the girl in the wheelchair making shushing noises.

“Shhh, just relax, Kotoko… everything’s okay. Monaca’s not mad, see! Happpyyy!” She did a little spin with her wheelchair, much to the entertainment of the other girl and the masked boy’s incomprehensible mumbling. The blue haired boy in the corner simply gave them a glance, before turning his head as the door to their room opened to reveal a familiar face.

“Hey, guys… sorry about bein’ late and not showing up yesterday.” A redhead spoke, his body covered in bandages and slightly exposed bruises that didn’t fit the bandages. He seemed really, really hurt. But his expression seemed calm and non-worrying.

“M-Masaru! What happened to you? You look so gross! Grosser than usual, don’t even touch me, ew!” The pink haired girl backed off, holding her hands in front of her as she was not exactly pleased with the redhead’s current condition.

“Hey, I am not gross! I just have some cool battle scars, that’s all… and I guess I owe you guys a reason on why I didn’t show up yesterday. Uhhh.. well, I’ve been thinking. And I’ve decided. I’m gonna go jump off the school roof tomorrow.” The redhead spoke in an awkward yet serious tone.

The room felt like it just completely froze when he said that. He was going to jump off the roof…? Doesn’t that man that he’ll…

“W-What? Masaru, have you lost your mind? If you jump off, you’ll die! Do you really want that to happen?” The blue haired boy stood up from his seat, finally speaking. He seemed completely not on board with the idea of the redhead trying to end his own life.

“You think I don’t know that? Look guys, I ran away from home yesterday, and that’s why I didn’t show up to school today, cause I was living in the streets. Then I realized that I just wasn’t gonna be able to live like this. So now, I’ve chosen. I’m gonna stop it all tomorrow. Don’t come with me, alright? You guys… deserve better than me.” The redhead replied with serious fire in his eyes. He seemed uneasily serious about this.

The room fell frozen again, completely quiet from any words as the other kids in the room simply looked at each other. It seems like their leader was completely serious about all of it. He was gonna speak again before another voice cut him off first.

“Monaca will follow you.” The girl in the wheelchair spoke, a cold tone in her voice as her grip tightened against her wheelchair’s armrest, looking down on the floor.

“W-What?! No, Monaca! Not you too! Please!” The pink haired girl panicked as she started running in place, her face completely terrified and worried.

“Yeah, Monaca! What the hell is wrong with you? I told you not to follow me!” The redhead replied, an angry and disappointed look on his face.

“I know that. Monaca knows. But to be honest, she’s been thinking about this a lot too. And I think I want to do the same thing that Masaru wants to do. I’m tired of coming home every day and hoping that maybe tonight will be different. But each day is the same pain, over, and over again. Don’t you guys think so too?” The green haired girl replied, her voice and face serious.

“I mean… Mommy probably wouldn’t care if I died, she’d probably be really happy if I did, actually…” The masked boy spoke from his own little corner, he too was pondering on the whole situation.

“I… well… you guys are the only friends I really have. And if you guys are going to do it tomorrow, then… I don’t really see any point in living… I guess… I might come too… what about you, Nagisa?” The pink haired girl replied, as they all looked over to the blue haired boy in the corner.

Monaca was right. He didn’t want to admit it, but the more he thought about it, she was right. How many times has his parents prepared him actual food to eat and he thought that finally, that day was going to be the start of something different. But his hopes were crushed when the next day, he was met with the same abuse he had to face. Every. Single. Time.

Maybe it was for the best. His parents already see him as a failure anyways, and maybe there really was no way to pass their expectations again. He figured that maybe he really was just better off dead like his father always claimed. It was just going to be a quick, painless jump, and it’ll all be over tomorrow. No more expectation, no more needles, no more belt hitting, no more exams, no more being hurt. No more.

“… Tomorrow, right?” The blue haired boy asked.

“Tomorrow.” The redhead replied.

The vice leader simply nodded in response. Tomorrow. It'll all end tomorrow.

hiya! could i get a magi and a free! matchup please, and could i be kept anonymous? thank you! ^^ sorry if this is badly written, this is my first time doing something like this ^^;

I’m a Taurus and ISTP-T! I’m mostly introverted unless I’m with people I know well like my friends, though sometimes I do struggle with chatting and spending time with family because of conflicting interests, and I worry too much about how people would judge me based on my interests. I’m absolutely horrible at small talk so keeping a proper conversation with anyone other than my closest friends is hard for me, especially in person, similarly I prefer texting over talking because then I have more time to consider a reply >.<

I often worry a lot about people’s impressions of me, and about giving the wrong “vibe”,, e.g I find typing all formally without emoticons and outside of my own style to be uncomfortable because I don’t like coming off as more serious than I actually am! I also feel insecure easily, more so around people that I’ll see again, like family friends or classmates/coworkers.

Around people I’m comfortable with I’m generally childish, and laugh easily. I like to think I’m quite creative, and I enjoy drawing and writing, especially writing for other people as I really like making my friends happy, it feels really gratifying for me when I get to see them smile, especially after I’ve surprised them with something they didn’t expect me to do.

I’m not particularly good with empathy, I find it much easier to try and provide a solution to someone’s problem rather than provide emotional support because I struggle with it and I don’t want to mess up and say the wrong thing. I also find it easier to try and cheer someone up than sympathize with them. I dislike being told what to do, and being told that my opinions are wrong and I should have a different opinion on something instead. I also tend to stay away from heavy and serious topics a lot of the time, as I fear responsibility, especially the responsibility that things such as politics or environmental issues would bring. My mood changes easily and I try to keep away from things that will make me overly upset, or it could ruin my mood for quite a while. I get lonely easily but I’m more accustomed to being on my own, as I find it easier to be alone rather than spend a lot of time with people resulting in feeling sad and upset when it’s over. I don’t find talking about my own emotions or problems easy because I’m almost constantly worried that I could be being too much of an attention hog, or making too many things about myself.

I have a short attention span and get easily distracted by other things, especially when watching films or long videos with other people. I find it hard to sit still for long periods of time, especially when I’m not doing anything, and when I’m watching a show or film on my own I like to draw or scrapbook to keep my hands preoccupied. I also prefer to listen to music a lot because I find silence too distracting. I’m also bad at indulging myself in other people’s interests; even if it’s something I might very well like, taking that first step into watching something or listening to something that someone else has asked me to try is often quite hard for me. I struggle at keeping/doing things consistently and would rather do things at a pace I’ve decided for myself. However on the contrary when I really like something, like when I’m in a fandom, I can be very passionate about it and like to talk to close people I trust about whatever fandom or hobby I’m currently preoccupied with!

I dislike violence and serious arguments, and try to remove myself from a situation when I can tell it’s going bad. I panic easily, especially in situations like that, and would much rather distance myself from it and find out what happened later, than stay and experience it for myself.

Appearance wise, I’m around 5'6, with long straight blonde hair and blue eyes. I wear glasses and mostly casual clothes, although wearing more colorful or “prettier” clothes makes me happier, but also at the same time wearing them can also make me feel insecure depending on my mood prior or who I’m spending time with. I don’t wear makeup very often.

i hope that was alright! as i said it’s my first time doing something like this and i just tried to write about everything about myself that came to mind ^^;

Nagisa would be so cute with you! Seeing as he is kind of your opposite in some sense, he an make you see stuff that you haven’t really seen before! You’re an introvert, he is an extrovert, but can also be an introvert; he can follow along with someone’s energy levels really well, so he could really make you feel comfortable in that aspect. He talks forever, and doesn’t know when to stop so, if you don’t like small talk, that’s fine, he’ll just talk to you and you can listen! Sometimes it can go into deeper conversations, or he will just listhings about his day that he thought were interesting! But he will need someone to listen to him, which I think you’d be perfect for!

He’ll understand the impression part really well! Nagisa is one to feel insecure too, with how people judge him and such; he is very insecure too, he just hides better than most. But he can make you comfortable with yourself, help you feel like you can be childish with him, seeing as he is childish himself! He wants to see you laugh around him so he will everything in his power to make you feel so comfortable, and when he does, he will be the happiest man in the world!

You aren’t good with empathy and that is totally okay! Because Nagisa will pick up the slack and be empathetic for the both of you! Nagisa isn’t the type of guy to think that there is something with wrong for wanting to solve a problem and keep emotions out of the way, in fact, he’ll think it is pretty admirable of you, since he could never do that! Nagisa is okay with they you are, in the aspect that you don’t want to talk about yourself all the much. He’ll understand the need for privacy and will respect that! He will listen to music with you if you don’t want to talk or listen to him talk, and he’ll just hang out with you and not say anything if you feel like you want to be alone, but not actually alone. It’s like you’ll have a supportive shadow!

Nagisa is also one to not sit still for very long, so he’ll definitely understand the need for you to move around while you do other things! And while you both watch a show or a movie, he will be right next to you, holding a pillow either watching wha tis from of him, or watching you draw! He’ll think it is quite cute that you need to do something to keep your hands busy. And even sometimes he’ll sneak his hands into yours so you can fiddle with them instead! He’ll talk to you about things that you are interested in, see if you are still passionate about them and he will excitedly listen to you, a smile on his face when you talk passionately about something that you are currently obsessed with! He will be a very supportive boyfriend inside and out!

Ngisa also dislikes violence, he’d rather have everyone be nice and peaceful with each other without having the need for violence. He’ll try to appease you though when there is a fight, and try to understand your side of the argument, or if you are a third party that doesn’t want to be a part of it, he will definitely follow you to a more quiet area.

Nagisa will love anything you wear, from pretty clothes to more comfortable ones. He will complimenting on most anything from your hair to your eyes, to your smile, literally everything. He will like your hair, will want to touch constantly; a little skinship that he will do unconsciously. He will be okay with you either wearing makeup or not, he just wants you to feel comfortable in his presence!

Okay! I picked Sinbad for you because I feel that you and him would be make a very cute couple, because he is mature and you are mature, but both of you will know how to have a good time with the other! Sinbad isn’t one for small talk either, he only does it because he someone people look up and he needs to keep a facade, but don’t worry. The only thing Sinbad will ever want to talk about is what you want to talk about! So that you are comfortable and happy!

Sinbad will the type to notice when you are trying your best to appease another person “vibe” wise, and when you are actually being yourself! And when he sees you being childish and fun and just overall comfortable with whoever you are talking to, he will strive to be the same! He will want you to act like that around him too, see he will do anything in his power to make you feel secure with him! Because he doesn’t want you to force yourself, like you do with other people you are not sure about! He’ll want to be one of those people that you write for, or do things for, so he can see you be happy that he is happy! He wants you to be happy no matter what! No matter how!

Sinbad would be a bit more empathetic than you, but he will be completely understanding when it comes to solving a problem without the need for emotions, he will understand that you have a harder than most expressing emotions. And being who he is, sometimes, Sinbad has to do the same thing, so he will be very supportive in that aspect! He will want you feel like you can be yourself around him, he will want you to feel like you can have your opinion when you are with him. He will want you to be you, not some fake persona that you put on so you can talk to other people without difficulties, no, he will want to converse with the you that is real.

He will want to be the person that has a short attention person, the person who will having to do five things at once, which he will think is utterly adorable; Sinbad will want to watch you to stuff like draw or write or fiddle with stuff that are in your hands because he thinks it’s intriguing, you are intriguing to him! He will want to listen to you talk about the things the you are passionate about, the things that you love, because eventually he will want to get them for you. Ir just listen to you talk for hours on end about stuff that you are obsessed, since you just don’t a lot in general.

Sinbad also dislikes violence to some degree, but will also use violence as a way to get what he wants, but in overall, he’d rather have peace than violence. So, he will do anything to make sure that there is no violence near you or in front of you, so that you can feel comfortable with him!

Appearance wise, Sinbad will know that you are quite the looker! He is more into the physical aspects of his partner than Nagisa is, but it will always come down to personality. But! He will like how you like form your hair to your smile to your body, every part of it he will love! And will learn to love, because that’s just who he is! Someone who will do their best for the person they want to spend the of his life with you! The one he loves!

Ok, ive never watched a sports anime series. Why ? Well, I guess it never peaked my interest. Even with popular series like Free or Haikyuu (I’m sorry I wrote this wrong or if I named the wrong sports anime) and me being a fujoshi you think I might be tempted for that secret otp eye candy

But, I’ve finally find sports anime interesting/ and it all thanks to HANEBADO ! 🏸

Themes: Athletes fighting for their dreams of being the best; surprising family drama. No lie I feel at times the series holds yuri moments which is cool, just that i wish the authors can tell us if there are yuri couples in the series are canon !! 😩 like what a way to tease an otaku /weeb here

Aside from from the anime’s I mentioned, any other sports anime I should watch ? Comment !

🚨 SPOILERS (mainly on the main character Ayano and her family) AND COMMENTARY as I’m barely reading the manga .🚨

I want to get something off my chest. And half the reason why I’m posting . It’s probably something one thing that most viewers will 99.99% agree....

I hate the main characters mom: Uchika Hanesaki!

one of our star character, Ayano Hanesaki, was trained by her mom Uchika in badminton. Of course Ayano loves the sports as it’s not only fun but she also played it cuz her mom loves it and as a kid, you want to get close to your parents somehow and that can be based on their hobby/passion they like. And I understand in that sense, as a parent, you want your kids to get better and to continue a passion because they want to do not because someone else does it (as in the anime, I notice Ayano has kind of a dependency personality or more like, she’s dependent because she feels like if she doesn’t have anyone to depend /lean on , she’ll feel hollow or lonely. Of course I can wrong ). But...that is no excuse to just leave your daughter at a young age without explaining yourself !! Like, in both the anime and manga (as the manga better explains it), Uchika left because she was trying to make Ayano a better badminton player. And in the manga (I believe it was) Ayano’s father states that Uchika and Ayano relationship as mom and daughter was also intertwined with a coach and student. But I won’t forgive the fact that Uchika in the anime was more motherly to Connie than Ayano. Like, she tells Connie : “hey , I can be your mom so live with me.” And it’s like, Connie can be a top player in the world thanks to Uchika. In the anime too, the scenes that infuriated me the most was Uchika singing in the kitchen while cooking and Connie laying on the couch happily . And Ayano? She was struggling alone! She was left in doubt of her mom acknowledging and loving her!!

I don’t really hate Connie as much like I do with Uchika as idk her family history in the series but, ooh!! Gosh she pissed me off the anime when she’s declaring to Ayano that her ‘mama’ aka m*f* Uchika was hers and that Uchika supposedly won’t acknowledge Ayano if she fails badminton . Like, wtf?! And to later in a few ep Connie goes see Ayano cuz she is wants to be sisters ??! Ahaha, I was happy when Ayano mopped the floor with Connie and said : “There’s no way the three of us can be a family . Because this time, I’m abandoning mom.” Karmas a bitch!

I’m an angst fan so I did slightly applaud on this scene just cuz I felt Uchika is an unworthy mom (I’m sorry I had to say it , this is my opinion and maybe the manga might change it later). Sadly, like in reality as well, I don’t expect Uchika or all moms to be too motherly and spoil Their kids a lot . but in Uchikas case...to leave your daughter without a word, go abroad and raise another little girl like your daughter (and in the manga I think she has one more ‘daughter’ she raises) like...I wanted someone to slap the sh*t out of her !!! And as an angst fan I was hoping the “demon” Ayano —as some ppl in the fandom call her when she’s in a rage /depressing state of mind (esp in the anime her eyes kind of change -and I noticed it’s familiar to the anime’s happy sugar life eyes) —to win the championship of whatever in the end of the episode and tell her mom stuff like “I despise you and I’ll abandon you like you did to me.” And for like the ending credits to show scenes of Nagisa (Ayanos teammate and rival) to break her free. Of course in the anime ending Nagisa does open her eyes and Ayano isn’t all spiteful anymore but I felt it happened too soon but that’s my angst side talking.

Ah!! I’m getting worked up thinking about this!!! k, so I know it’s based on the manga which is surprisingly different! And when I mean different I mean in some aspects the scenes is 180 degrees different from the original. Like, not even a few chapters in Connie and Ayano meet and it’s not as dramatic as the anime . Like, Connie mainly teases Ayano about not telling more about Uchika whereabouts and just says “Let’s meet at the Inter- High and I can talk about mama then.” And I was expecting demon Ayano in the manga but so far, she hasn’t shown up . And I’m a terrible otaku to jump far and read the last volume . And based on how it ends, I think I’ll continue reading it. Maybe the anime did some characters unjust as that has happened before.

For now, that’s all I wanted to get off my chest! If you finished reading this through , thanks for reading a fans commentary ! I might write another post in the future . And I would like anyone’s input on Uchika , Connie , Ayano or the anime series in general.

Hiyori: Yes, yes ♪ Today we're perfectly in sync as always, aren't we? What fine weather ♪

Alright, Jun-kun, here's a towel and some water, just for you. Go on, accept my kindness!

Jun: They were already in the room, dammit.

But anyway, why'd you suddenly call me over? We didn't have any lessons planned for today, right?

Hiyori: I simply had a lot of free time on my hands—

Jun-kun, you're keeping a secret from me! You've got something of utter importance that you aren't discussing with me, don't you?

Jun: ....Sorry?

And why, you ask? Aren't I your partner, Jun-kun? Aren't I your Ohii-san you respect so much?

You could say I'm even your senior in getting an outfit! Surely there's no one in the world more suited to advising you than I am...!

Jun: You say this with your whole chest, but I don't think I mentioned a thing about this to you. Didja hear it from Ibara?

Hiyori: Something like that ♪ Now then, what kind of outfit do you want to wear, Jun-kun? Go on, you can tell your Ohii-san anything... ♪

Jun: I'm seriously stuck on this, so please don't make fun of me for it, alright?

I talked with Mashiro-kun and Kagehira-san just now about it, but...

Coming up with something not in Eden or Eve's image but in my own, or rather an outfit that gives off my energy... I've been having a hard time trying to figure it all out.

Hiyori: …………

Jun: I'm pretty sure you've got a good idea of my past and all, but...

That gloomy past I spent as a nobody at the bottom of the barrel makes me who I am today.

Those strong feelings I've always held in my heart... they haven't changed one bit, even throughout all my idol work nowadays.

And that's why... um... I thought maybe I could express those feelings through my outfit, but then I got tripped up by another problem.

I've got fans who like me and cheer me on, but what if who they're actually fans of is specifically Eden and Eve's Jun Sazanami...

So I've been thinking maybe they'd be happier if I wore colours more suited for my unit than for me—

Hiyori: ...What, you mean that's it? That's what's got you stumped, Jun-kun?

Jun: W-What's wrong with that!? I've been seriously having a crisis over this, y'know!?

Hiyori: What a silly goose you are, Jun-kun... Developing your idol skills isn't all there is to it—you should develop your emotional awareness, as well.

You got all up in your head back when you had your hyena stageplay role too, didn't you?

Jun: Uuugh...

Hiyori: One would never guess it, Jun-kun, but overthinking yourself into a rut seems to be one of your bad habits.

You may have taken on the role of a hyena prince that one time, but right now, Jun-kun, you seem exactly like an armadillo!

Jun: A-an armadillo...?

Hiyori: You curl into a ball with your head in your hands, and your train of thought seizes up! There's no way you can run free in the wild like this!

And if you shut yourself away into your shell, not only will no one else be able to see you, but you'll lose sight of yourself, too.

Round and plump things are charming, yes, but when you're an idol, you must bask in the gazes of the people and show your brilliance.

Jun: Umm... I suck at reading between the lines, so can't you just spell it out for me~?

Hiyori: Fufu, impatient, aren't we? All the same, while I believe you've come along splendidly, the fact that it seems I still have much to teach you does put me at ease... ♪

With that, I'll ask my first question! How's Reimei Academy been [like] recently?

Jun: Why're you asking me questions when you said you'd teach me...? Umm, let's see...

Even Kazehaya-senpai told me that I'm the current hero of Reimei Academy, so the sense of recognition feels a lot more real, I guess...?

Hiyori: ... Jun-kun, you really are rather fond of Tatsumi-kun, aren't you?

But well, I'm more than happy to hear you're being appreciated!

Alrighty then, next question! Out of the jobs you've taken lately, which one left the strongest impression on you?

Jun: That's gotta be the stageplay for me. It was a real valuable experience, and I feel that by toughing it out through the performance I've really broadened my perspective.

Hiyori: Yes, yes, you did a brilliant job in learning from that experience! Well then, what do you keep in mind whenever you work?

Jun: Let's see... My work as Eden, or Eve, or Lilith or even when I go solo are all a lil' different from each other, but...

At heart, it's gotta be getting seen as an inspiration or goal for those who are just like how I used to be—

And maybe I kinda wanna be someone who can help others pave their own paths.

Hiyori: ... Indeed ♪

You wanted to become an idol, Jun-kun... and here you are now, your dream come true.

Keeping up in practice with me, holding out throughout our various jobs and recognising your own growth—you've come along so well that you can succeed in all of this.

Jun-kun, the virtue that's brought you this far is your hyena-esque determination and ambition. I've told you this before, but...

So what you're saying is.... if I've got it in me to become any kinda idol, then the only way my outfit would be worth it is if it'd suit that future version of me, no matter how I turn out.

Hiyori: If I were to confirm it, then it wouldn't be your answer but rather my own, no?

But if it's an answer that came from your own mind, and it's one that you yourself believe in, then that would be more than enough... ♪

Jun: (I was so caught up brainstorming my personalised outfit over lunch that I'm cutting it real close for time. ES may be nearby, but I can't afford to stay here any longer...)

Nagisa: ...Jun, wait. You forgot this.

Jun: Oh man— I forgot the most important thing for the meeting. Thank you, Nagi-senpai.

I don't have my name written on the cover or anything, but you still knew it was mine, huh?

Nagisa: ...I figured it was yours once I looked inside it, Jun. Both the writing and the art felt like they'd be yours.

Jun: I feel kinda embarrassed that you saw, actually... Sorry for my cruddy drawings and the scribbly mess inside.

Nagisa: ...Why do you apologise?

...Jun, perhaps you may feel that you're standing in the wilderness, but...

...you can turn those surrounding plains into a land rich in harvest, or even into fields full of flowers. Within you, there's a path that continues towards such a future.

...That's the feeling I got from looking through your notebook. I'm looking forward to seeing how your outfit turns out, Jun.

5. Which two characters who have never interacted in canon do you wish would interact?

There have probably been brief interactions between these characters after everyone just kept bumping into each other in DttF, but I’d love to see Kisumi and Nagisa together, or Rei and Nao! Kisumi and Nagisa could have loads of fun together (especially with Rin, if I could add a third), and I love the idea of either Asahi or Makoto catching up with Rei (need more Asahi + Rei time also, but I digress) and introducing him to Nao. The canon timeline feels like it still has Nagisa and Rei in this post-graduation/pre-university limbo where it’s not totally clear what their new dreams or next moves are, and it’d be so cool to, idk, see Nagisa and Kisumi try to embrace the “fun” sides of newfound independence in Tokyo, or see Nao answer questions for Rei about getting to do something that involves both an objective analytical view of training/swimming as well as an underlying love for the sport. Fun possibilities!! Also let Makoto visit Steve THANKS

8. What’s your favorite AU that you have come up with?

Ahh it’s hard to choose! I have so many based off of movies/musicals/etc that are fun to talk/think about. This one isn’t necessarily my favorite, but one of the newest ones I’ve been thinking about a lot is one where Makoto and Haru fall out of touch after high school (fireworks angst gone horribly wrong, big sads) and get a chance to reunite when Ran is shopping around for a wedding cake and guess who works at a bakery right outside of Iwatobi? Usually I’m not a fan of makoharu stories where they end up estranged, but there’s something grossly appealing to Haru and Makoto having to sit down and actually talk about everything that went wrong (wrong enough for Haru to stay in Iwatobi, wrong enough for them to lose touch, wrong enough for their friends to not have tried to push them back together). A chance for full apologies after having ample time to reflect, plus a slow burn of learning how to trust and be one with each other again? Giving the Tachibana family some time to express their own confusion and heartache over Haru pulling away from not just Makoto but all of them over the years?? Delicious

9. What’s your favorite AU that someone else has come up with?

A big piece of my heart is always going to belong to the Eyes Wide Open All the Time universe, both because it was the first Free! AU fic I ever really gave a chance, and because the story is just so expansive and immersive for every character. I’ve talked about Beth’s stories a lot on here (her writing astounds me) and even though there have been so many other AUs that have blown me away since first reading this story, it’s one I keep finding myself coming back to. The premise can seem like a great departure from canon (gang conflicts and ex-military trauma and murder mystery, oh my!), but there’s a certain level of artistry in how every character feels fleshed out and familiar. They’re stuck in extreme situations and have so much to work through, but they still find each other and struggle together through the hard choice to change and dream and hope. I adore the self-indulgent chapters and scenes where they all get to just be their goofy, messy selves and have fun, but there’s something about those light moments mixed in with intense healing and revelations that just mmMMM speaks to me

10. Whose character arc are you most excited for in The Final Stroke?

I need Makoto screentime before his demise pleaseee 😩 jokes aside like I’m sure the main focus is going to be on Haru and Rin, plus whatever’s about to happen with Albert, but I hope their support systems (Makoto, Sousuke, Asahi if he isn’t swimming) get more than just a few minutes of visibility before the focus shifts to training in Sydney or whatever. I think I’m most excited to see where they leave things off with both Haru and Makoto in particular (wow surprise) just because we’ve all theorized so much that I want them to have some sort of satisfying conclusion, whether it’s hopeful or bittersweet. Also!! I want to see what Rei’s new dream is, but I’m not totally confident yet that they’ll fully revisit him and Nagisa, at least until the second movie. We’ll just have to see I guess!
