Friday came faster than you could ever expect. You were already dressed and waiting for Josh to pick you up. He told you to dress a bit fancier than your usual attire- due to the restaurants dress code. You had picked out a black satin dress with small black heels. You skipped out on the decision to put on underwear, knowing your night is going to end up one way or the other. You decided to let your hair down and you had pinned your bangs back with a little vintage sword clip. You felt pretty, and hoped Josh would think so too. He arrived to the entrance of the university shortly after you’d stepped out, in his black jeep, he’d open the door for you from the inside.

“Aren’t you a lovely sight to see.” He sighed, kissing your hand after you’ve buckled in your seatbelt. You thanked him nervously as you examined him. He had recently gotten a haircut- which complimented him extremely well. The sides of his head were shaved, almost giving him a mullet. He wore dark brown glasses instead of his usual black ones, which made his eyes pop. He wore a white button down which felt like an expensive material; and some black pants. He looked really good.

“Are you nervous, doll?” He spoke, his eyes focused on the road whilst his hand stayed on your thigh.

“Maybe a little.” Lie. “I hope he likes me.” You added.

“I’m sure he will, lovey.” he answered, shooting you a soft smile before focusing back on the road once again.

JAKE

You had dressed yourself in a black satin button down, only butting up two buttons at the bottom of it. Making sure your necklaces appeared well through the sliver of open skin from the shirt. Your trousers were rolled up so your ankle was exposed; leaving your Louis Vuitton boots exposed for everyone to see. Your mind flashed back to the other day, how she treated your boot from her desperateness. You liked that; the feeling of being wanted, craved. You took one more look in the mirror before leaving to go meet your twin, examining your long hair and the way it draped over your shoulders so nicely. The way your necklaces rested at the perfect length around your neck. You hoped she’d look at you like she did… so hopeful and needy.

When you stepped into the restaurant; you were the first to arrive. The hostess led you to your booth and brought you a glass of water, though you ordered a drink right away. Whiskey will calm your nerves and heat you up a little.

Stirring the liquids in the fancy glass, you stared at the motions of the alcohol; and how it moved so freely. You wish you could too. Be free like a bird; let anything you want come true because you want it so much. You thought about the guitar riff you practiced this morning, and the lyrics you wrote for it right after. You thought about how, even Josh, did not know how badly you wanted this dream. How it felt to picture yourself on that big stage playing for all your adoring fans- if you’d even have any. Yet you already had one, and she was walking in with him.

“Hey brother.” Josh smiled at you and you got out of the booth to hug him, a greeting habit you had acquired yourself to do almost every time you saw him.

“Hey Josh.” You ignored her, not wanting to make it obvious you were excited to see her. As you pulled away, he introduced her by her first name and she responded with

“Pleasure to meet you, officially.” Your heart skipped a beat, and you raised an eyebrow. She wants to play.. You shook her hand before offering her to sit in the booth, between your brother and yourself. She sat to your left and Josh was next to her.

“Officially?” Josh questioned as he made himself comfortable in the booth, sitting down next to her. “Oh! Right, Jake how did it go?” He asked you with a smile.

“It went well. Thank you. Your students seem very eager to learn which I appreciate.” You said, taking a sip from your drink. You felt her eyes on you as your lips rested against the glass.

“They really are, huh?” He nudged her with his elbow gently, which made her smile nervously.

She looked incredibly good, her satin dress almost perfectly matched your shirt. She had this pin in her hair; a sword. That caught your attention immediately. She caught you looking and felt it with her fingers. “I love anything that has to do with pirates” She spoke. You swore you felt your heart leap out of your chest.

“So do I. I love this.” You smiled softly as your fingers traced the little design on her pin. But Josh’s stare made you drop your hand immediately after. You couldn’t stop yourself from looking at it though.

“How’s your semester going, Jake?” He redirected the conversation; noticing your ‘sudden’ interest.

“It’s great. My students are really creative. Anytime they submit a new assignment I always feel impressed by their talents. Though, I had to have a student come to see me after hours because she was having creativity block.” You said, your foot finding her leg and rubbing against it softly. Your eyes stayed on Josh yet you were watching her through the corner of your vision, and you noticed the little smile on her lips as she felt your touch.

The server came to take your orders and then left, leaving the three of you back to your conversation. You rested your back against the booth and let your hands fall to your sides, listening to Josh talk about his next film idea. You nodded here and there, letting him know you’re listening but the truth was, you weren’t. You were more focused on the feeling of her satin dress over your hand, your fingers tracing her inner thigh.

“What’s she like?” You asked as Josh read over an essay.

“She’s..” He paused, a small smile on his lips. “She’s really special. She thinks like I do. Whenever I talk in class she just looks at me with so much hope and excitement over the material I’m about to teach. And I picked easy movies this semester but I feel like she wants to be challenged, she wants to learn everything. Not only about the course but about me. She even asked about my tattoo.” Josh beamed, looking at you with a bigger smile.

Your heart sank a little, he left you feeling like you’ll never experience anything like he has.

“I’m glad. You deserve to be happy, Josh.” You replied with a small smile, trying not to sound bothered; before returning to the essay you were reading.

Your mind drifted back to that day in the hallway, her innocent face, the way she seemed to want to do anything to please him. You wondered if you were ever going to experience that.

Josh was still talking about his film, so entranced by his own words that he did not realize your hand was right between her thighs. Luckily, the table was so pressed up against you all that it wasn’t very noticeable.

You heard her suck in a breath as your middle finger grazed against her bare clit- your mouth hanging low for a split second. No underwear? Her cheeks were so red, and her breathing was heavy, her hands found your arm and she wrapped her fingers around your wrist, pulling it closer to her center.

“So needy” You sighed, Fuck, you were loving this. This…. Feeling of need. Her legs were shaking a little on the booth’s seat, and she kept her head down, quietly muttering little ‘please’ and ‘fuck’s as she grinded her hips against your hand, needing you more and more as you went faster- bringing her there. heyy not to hit u with another request for an analysis lmao but i’d love to hear your take on the bigger than me mv! i only watched it recently but i thought the number of sticks (7 i think?) that louis picks up along the way and the difference in their size/where they’re found/what condition they’re in as well as the smaller stick he pockets at the end seem significant. i know louis prefers to keep a lot of creative choices open to interpretation and likes a healthy dose of mystery in his symbolism (still no idea what 369 means beyond the manifestation method😭) so perhaps it’s a lost cause to try to decipher this haha

I think Louis did mention once that the Bigger Than Me video didn’t have any specific allegory, or that it was open to interpretation.

To me, Louis’ choosing BTM as the first single from FITF, after a long pandemic and delayed tour, shows that the pandemic was an introspective time for him. He reflected on the state of his career and he was ready to switch directions.

It was a different kind of song from Walls singles— bigger in every way, with a grander vision and bolder sonics, more challenging vocals, more yearning for community and engagement.

Visually, Louis chose an ethereal, grand location for the music video, and it was shot with no expenses spared. The director commented that he used cinematic equipment and proportions to frame the video. The drone shots contrasted the immensity of the natural elements with the smallness of the single human being— an isolation that’s increasingly rare on earth.

Let’s contrast the BTM video with Walls, and their separate depictions of “being alone.” In Walls, the location was also a place of relative isolation— the desert. Louis looked into mirrors to find himself, in fantasy rooms where he was the single person surrounded by paired dancers, as the center of a literal target on the floor, in the darkness where demonic faces crowded him, and— most memorably— stranded high on a wall, abandoned. His direction, his “goal,” was the mirage of a door in the desert.

In BTM, Louis is surrounded by the lushness of nature in green and earth tones. The video is tinted with warm overlay. Louis’ photoshoots leading to the album release emphasized green and orange complementary tones— secondary colors, compared to the primary red of Walls. Moreover, Louis is not directionless in BTM— at the very start of the video, he sees the bonfire in the distance. The distance was vast, but still human in scale— eventually, with enough travel and persistence, he reached it.

The imagery and feel of BTM reminds me of these lines from One Direction’s Long Way Down:

“Sailed an ocean and drowned in the waves” acknowledges the naïveté of the nautical imagery, “My hands, your hands/ Tied up like two ships/ Drifting, weightless/ Waves try to break it” in 1D’s Strong (but later, Louis reuses the metaphor to signify taking ownership of his life in Paradise). “Built a cathedral/ but we never prayed” also precedes the church of burnt romances in Only The Brave.

(Off track and not to be a sap but Louis did also write on History and these lyrics, after seeing AOTV, are gut-wrenching:

Bigger Than Me shows Louis walking a long path toward a large fire— both a purifying and transcending metaphor. The sticks he carries throughout his journey range from large to small. The large ones are heavy, burdensome, yet he starts walking with the largest, and eventually tosses it in.

The bonfire is maybe an acknowledgement that some things are not worth carrying forever, but worth releasing into the world, worth leaving behind in ether. The fire is like a ceremonial ritual, a formal way of letting go. Instead of him “going down in flames,” Louis is able to control what he keeps and what he burns. The purification can result in rebirth and renewal; fire is a natural part of earth’s being reborn. The small stick he keeps in his pocket is a memento of Louis’ journey, literally and figuratively.

The number 7 is a coincidence; there are also seven roses in the 28 Official Programme logo. It’s a lucky number. 1/4 of 28.

the weed video is so funny to me, I wasn't in the fandom back then so I don't really know how the fandom reacted. But looking at it now is so funny considering how he has a song high in california and even harry has admitted doing drugs not to mention his lyrics. but the funniest part about that video is that zayn says "i know you like dick"

Hello anon!! This was meant to be a lot shorter, but… yep. Here we are. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these but, well, welcome to the show…

It was sooooo clearly planned. And hilarious. And at the time, because a lot of us were on the younger side, we were shook at this video. tried to rationalise it by them being excited about the actual food chicken, not coke, and there were more than a few people who unstanned. People burned physical concert tickets, deleted their blogs, sent nasty tweets to the boys… It was not something we were expecting, particularly because it just came out of the blue one day, and a lot of us were too young to have dabbled in the devil’s lettuce.

but yeah… louis filmed for a long time, clearly putting the joint in the middle of the frame multiple times so we wouldn’t miss it, spoke super loudly so we’d know it was him, kept talking about how they were smoking weed, and basically removed all plausible deniability. and there wasn’t really too much attempted clean up afterwards. things just kinda kept going on as normal, even after the video was leaked.

SC did a half assed attempt at saving face, Liam made a series of tweets to try and save their butts (as per usual, he cleans up haha), TMZ said One Direction’s lawyers were getting involved because someone stole that video and leaked it (which like… how? It was literally filmed on louis’ phone, and im sure there would be much more interesting things to leak off there), and then articles about how upset Harry was at Louis for the whole thing were planted the next day to a) push larry further apart and continue their enemy thing, and b) push harry for another reason for a solo career.

BUT the thing is… SC’s statement, came roughly a week after all the articles had come out. It wasn’t straight away. And you wanna know why I think that was?

Plainly put, it’s a short speculation piece about whether or not One Direction were still happy. That was a massive thing that came out of that video… was just like, Zayn and Louis being annoyed that they were putting out ANOTHER book, and that it was just the same old boring stuff that the fans had seen and read all before (I have all the books still, and yes, he is correct). I think that probably encouraged a statement from SC, because what’s the best way to show you’re unhappy and wanna step away from your brand and get back at your big boss who has full control over your career? You guessed it! A scandal.

While they certainly were smart enough to do this while in a country where it is legal to have a small amount of jazz cabbage for personal use, to avoid further complications with the law etc., and never actually using any explicit terms like “cocaine”, it got them off the hook enough that this leak was successful while still protected them from “going too far”. And I 100% stand by that it was Louis who planned to film and leak it, and that’s why “I know u like dick” came out, too.

Precious Mr Tomlinson has always been a bit of a mastermind with a master plan, and he knew that by posting this, the media would jump on them doing drugs more so. That was meant to be the main feature, with a splash of hating their brand and wanting to do more for fans. But for us Larries? Well… zayn saying he knows louis likes dick and then a loud louis cackle was pretty huge. Louis encouraged it and probably suggested zayn say something along those lines just to stir the pot (pun intended) some more. This video truly had the trifecta: hating SC/the 1d brand, doing drugs, and encouraging gay rumours.

And theeeeen SC hit louis with a punishment, which was Eleanor was to accompany louis for the rest of the tour because she’s a “great influence on him” (lol) which was announced on the same day of SC’s statement (coincidence?).

That same article then commented on how louis was so upset about the video because he was trying to make a deal to buy the Rovers at that time and didn’t wanna jeopardise it (he knew that vid wasn’t gonna jeopardise shit lol).

I think Louis saying the N word (which we all argued about whether he said it or not for ages bc damn louis) is totally inexcusable. That was by far the worst thing that came out of this video, and the media noticed it too. I don’t think he intended on it being in the video leak, because regardless of how much he wanted to piss off SC, I don’t think he’d ever intended to hurt anyone else and him saying that obviously did. I won’t excuse that and I kinda think well did he even watch it back before leaking it? Did he rewatch it still stoned and didn’t think twice about it? Either way he shouldn’t have said it regardless of being on camera or not and he did really hurt a lot of people. It was stupid.

The vid still available online is cut exactly at 5 mins, and is chopped up and doesn’t show the whole thing (I think there was a longer version somewhere that came out too and it was like over 8 mins but didn’t have the cuts in it? Idk I remember there being a longer one that disappeared???) but yeah… it truly was a time.

your tags here…yk this is something i’ve been thinking about as well, how louis’ songs often seem to be like they’re written from female perspective and i’ve always found it really interesting also louis talked about something similar as well…it’s probably down to him being around women all his life but also it truly does seem like some of his songs at least are written about a guy and add to it the fact some his songs having queer themes as well…makes you think huh ✍🏻

also i found it really interesting as well when this reactor said that she never was able to connect to male artist before louis because she’s “female identifying person” (9:47-10:10) and i was like…whoa

I'm too much of a girl 😭😭 oh baby louis u were so sweet and innocent shsh

but yeah totally! and I care to make the distinction here that when I say sometimes his lyrics feel like they're written by a woman I mean that bc generally and stereotypically we're used to hearing this kind of feelings/perspective from women, in particular women writing about men, not bc there's an inherent "womanly" or "mainly" way to write, obviously there aren't and probably in the future the 2 will mix more thanks to more musicians like louis but yeah if u look at the popular songs we've always listened to its much more common to find the themes of not being loved enough, begging for someone's love, saying that for long everything u did was for the other person, losing yourself in a toxic relationship, only becoming who you are now after that person left you (ex: "the day you left me was just my beginning" etc) have usually been brought on by women more than by men. also the way he talks about the flaws of the other person (they don't want to share their feelings with him, they try to act like they never feel any pain, they get lost in their pride and become ugly and unkind) are usually things we associate more with men + he differs from most straight male musicians bc he never sexualizes women in any part of his art

obviously nothing is for certain and I'm not trying to prove anything, the only thing that this proves is that louis is a very interesting and innovative songwriter that doesn't follow the usual stereotypes assigned to his gender and I'm sure that's also why he's able to connect with so many women (also could be one of the reasons why he's not taken very seriously in the indie Boys scenes ?? too soft? idk)

I dont appreciate being called delusional, especially when your arguments are easily refuted. So maybe not do that if you want to have a real conversation and for me to even bother glancing at your ask. Since you actually brought some arguments along with your insult, i'm going to give you an answer.

Harry can kiss straight men for laughs and still be a gay man. Kissing men for laughs is probably a bit freeing for him as a closeted gay man. He can only kiss women (in public) because he is closeted. Not only is he closeted, but he's in a relationship with a man who's also closeted. That's why he's never been seen kissing a man in public. He has kissed a man on film, and for some of us that was with more passion and show of physical attraction than we've ever seen him give a woman. He is closeted for many reasons, but the gist of it is because the world is cruel to queer people. It's an advantage in many ways to be straight presenting. In order for him to make his label money and portray him as straight he has to enter pr relationships. Pr relationships are very common in Hollywood as a promotion tool, but also for closeting purposes. Just look look at it closely.

Since pr relationships has become so common, you now have to work harder to convince the public that you are the real deal, hence having to go further than ever to legitimise your relationship. That might mean getting a tattoo of your partners name on you.

You are right, body language analysis is a pseudoscience. But we all agree that this is a smile 🙂 and this is the opposite ☹️ right? You also agree that this here is a subtle act off affection, right?:

The reasons why we know how Harry feels about Louis is several. He's said so explicitly. He's also said it indirectly, metaphorically and lyrically. So after all this, how can you not entertain the thought that Harry might not be straight? I know it might be a scary thought, because it means that he's decived us, played pretend and lied to us. And it shows us that the world isn't so black and white and perfect as we think. But most importantly, Harry is still Harry and he's a good person who makes lots of people very happy. I think people wants him to be happy too, and he's going to be really happy when he comes out. I hope you will be there to support him, alongside me, when he does.

I think the saddest part abt losing the baby for fl would be losing the last thing she had of liam. It was mostly because the baby was an extension of her dead lover that had her so distraught

ummmm ok so. i already talked abt the lucky part of it in this post which basically says that louis doesn’t trust harry’s team but if harry needs to tell himself it’ll be ok to get through the night that’s alright. i could go more in-depth on lucky but this is already too long rip

so for little freak…. well. the interpretation my friends and i had was that harry wrote the song about louis after an argument with him about harry’s solo career/team/situation/etc. what inspired it first was:

I disrespected you / jumped in feet first and I landed too hard / a broken ankle, karma rules

taking it as harry talking about how he jumped straight into his solo career without realizing what exactly he was getting into, and then is now realizing just how messy it is (a broken ankle) - and is blaming himself for it (karma rules). the first line speaks to them fighting - with this interpretation it would be about harry’s situation , but now harry has reflected on it and seen where he was wrong.

and then staying with this interpretation, looking at the lines:

Stay green a little while / You bring blue lights to dreams / Starry haze, crystal ball / Somehow, you've become some paranoia / A wet dream just dangling / But your gift is wasted on me

“being green” at something means being inexperienced or innocent, while blue is associated with sadness/being down - you could read this as harry wants louis to pretend that everything is fine and nothing is wrong even when he has misgivings because it’s tainting harry’s dream. and then there’s the next lines which speak to warnings/being scared/the future as well as potentially being trapped in a “starry haze” - all these together with the last “but your gift was wasted on me” can be read as louis gave his opinion on harry’s situation and harry didn’t want to listen even though louis was right.

now the song as a whole is very romantic and lovely and speaks to how much harry loves louis and it is talking about more than just this one thing. if we take it in the context of reflecting after an argument, louis’ delicate point of view is even more heartbreaking because it shows that harry loves, values, and respects louis’ opinions and how he sees the world, even when it’s not what he wants to hear.

megan, evelyn, and jess are all super insanely smart and devastating and we had this brainwave after listening to lucky and dissecting the superman lyric and realizing just how fucked everything is lmao and now we hate ourselves :/ but thanks louis for letting us understand little freak even more, i hate u so much

i am in love with this album. like i’m not fucking joking i was a bit scared i wasn’t gonna like it that much cause i’ve never been a pop punk girlie but this is genuinely a great album from start to end. no skip album. i’ve enjoyed it so much. GOD.

the greatest: dude. THIS is how every album should begin. such a strong start it got me hooked so fast. the fucking STRINGS???? “it’s you and me until the end”????? i am losing my mind and it’s only the first song

written all over your face: ok i see you mutuals i get it. I GET IT. i was like how good can this song be why is everyone so obsessed with the way he says hey babe. and i get it now. this man is moaning in my ear and i’m pretending to be fine. this is fucking sexy. he is fucking sexy oh my god

i literally thinks at this point 'hopelessly devoted to you' make so much sense if they were in a romantic relationship in the past. Like it says 'the person had to pushed his love away' and it's Louis. He washed his love away and hurt his loved one and that person is not getting over him and they are more than willing to wait .You can actually take some of Louis' lyrics in his songs 'he gave in to the pressure' 'he got so much to lose' 'he was sorry to the person he caused pain' ' he missed them' etc... Like it does really adds up.

In Harry's falling says 'you said that you care and you missed me too' and his adore you lyrics 'you don't have to say you love me' like he's basically implying that the person he love never declare they love him on public and his golden song says it all...

I dunno anymore. I don't even know why I am taking this away to u like it matters. I was thinking if theyve been inrelatioship then it must be true that harry is still longing and hoping he could get him back by doing all of this

Or, I’ll play devil’s advocate.

They’re both musicians from One Direction. Harry was supposed to be the big breakout star. None of the other men were supposed to have any audience left by this time, seven years after the break up.

The fact that they’re making solo albums, touring, getting fandom and media attention— the fact that they are even VIABLE as artists— is contrary to every one of HSHQ and Sony’s plans.

Liam, Niall, Louis, and Zayn were all supposed to be “Ringo Starr” while Harry went on to become Paul McCartney + Brad Pitt. That was the plan.

Louis is about to release a great, great album. It grinds Harry’s petty ass that Louis is able to be independent, to find musicians who respect him, to have genuine affection from people like Liam Gallagher and The Vaccines and Green Day.

Maybe none of Harry’s songs are meant to be about Louis; maybe they’re written in a coy way so they could be interpreted that way. But Harry Styles™️ was never about genuine emotion: he was always about sales. He IS always about money, fame, attention. A narcissist cannot share the spotlight.

Louis Tomlinson Hugs His Biggest Fan on ‘Late Late Show,’ Reminisces About Horrifying One Direction Hotel Pranks

"That is an actual torture," James Corden said of one of the singer's pranks.

Louis Tomlinson has the most dedicated fans. James Corden proved it to him on the Late Late Show on Tuesday night (Sept. 13) when he presented the former One Direction star with a series of images featuring some of the creative signs at gigs on Tomlinson’s recently concluded world tour.

“Delayed surgery for this,” read one. “Don’t do that!” Tomlinson laughed in response. Others read, “If u want another dog I can bark” and “You’re like my tea: hot & British.” Louis said the signs definitely make him chuckle sometimes, but they’re also so distracting that if he tries to read them while singing, he often forgets his lyrics.

The best sign, though, was from a fan who double-fisted it, with one reading, “I have Faith in the Future that I will meet u today!” along with a “To do list” that just read “Meet Louis Tomlinson” three times. That young woman, Jessica, began waiting in line many hours before the late-night show’s taping, and when Corden asked if Tomlinson could help her cross things off her list, he happily obliged and ran up into the crowd to give her a huge hug.

Louis also answered the most pressing question: How does he keep himself entertained on the road? The singer described a favorite pastime that began in his 1D days and has carried through to the present. Basically it involves torturing any member of his entourage who goes to bed a bit too early after a night of drinking. “I get a master key in the hotel, which lets me in to every single room,” he explained, recalling a time a few weeks ago when one of his managers turned in before 11.

“Didn’t do anything too bad, just screamed in his face, seen him cower a little bit and ran out,” Tomlinson explained. “Just silly antics you get up to on tour.”

Corden, however, noted that “that is actually how they torture people.” Without skipping a beat, Tomlinson then gleefully recalled that in the 1D days, they once grabbed an ice bucket of water and threw it on a sleeping security guard, then watched as the unwitting man was shocked out of his slumber after sucking up the water and thinking he was drowning.

“NO!!!” Corden yelled as Tomlinson said it was “the best” night. “That is an actual torture,” Corden and fellow guest Adrien Brody agreed. “What you’re describing as great hijinks is genuinely trauma-building for these people,” James said.

Tomlinson stuck around to play the ballad “Bigger Than Me” from his upcoming album Faith in the Future. “It was challenging coming out of a band the size of One Direction and then kind of finding your feet musically,” he said about his 2020 debut solo album, Walls. And though he’s “immensely” proud of that album, the singer described the trial and error process one goes through at the start of your career as a way of saying that Faith more clearly defines him as an artist. “It makes me really proud, definitely,” he said.

As for the most difficult question Corden had cued up for his old friend — one he said he gets pretty much every time he goes on social media — i.e., will he kidnap Tomlinson and the former members of 1D? “It makes me uncomfortable,” Corden admitted as Tomlinson wondered why anyone would want that.

“I could kidnap you and put you in a room and make you perform together one more time,” Corden surmised of the strange requests. “Are you open to being kidnapped?” he wondered.

“That’s definitely a question I’ve never been asked before,” Tomlinson said with a pleasantly concerned look. “By the right person,” he concluded, before asking what the exact process would be and then laughing when James said it would probably involve a master key of some sort.
