This is close to how I imagine Dean would be like if he got married to Cas.
“He would not fucking say that” IDC!!!!! Also I think he would, actually. I feel like if he let himself be freely happy for once (which he’d have to if he decided to marry Cas), he would act and say shit like that. I mean, Regarding Dean did show us a little bit of what he would be like without all the burden he’s forced to carry, and in Various & Sundry Villains they showed us what he’d be like if he’s openly and happily in love (I get that he was bewitched and all that, but the first guy they hexed didn’t act the way he did).
“I married that guy. How awesome is that?” is just so Dean to me personally. Reminds me so much of his “and our best friend is an angel! Whaaaat!?”
Well anyways, I just wanna see him happy. Truly happy. And since the show didn’t give us that, I could at least daydream about it. That’s all.

Typical of Supernatural going from intense trauma bonding between one of the main characters and the morally-gray-part-time-villain to whatever the fuck this was:

Honestly, it's about the fact that in the midst of his s13 depression arc, 13.12, instead of saying 'Mum's still stuck with Lucifer in apocalypse world', Sam says "Mum's still in hell" then backtracks and is like "...basically."
The old Freudian slip. It just speaks to the fact that to him hell is not a physical place like everyone else seems to perceive it to be. Hell is a person and that person is Lucifer.
The microcosm inside the Cage feels almost like a separate world altogether, one that is at Lucifer's complete discretion. As we see in Sam's trip to the limbo cage in s11, Lucifer is fully capable of walking them through the hallways of Sam's mind, legitimising his memories into an entirely new setting. (I call it the limbo cage because I feel like what we see in s11 is a sort of in-between state between the metaphysical concept of the Cage and the physical place Hell - like Rowena's spell caught Lucifer pressed between films, neither in the Cage or in Hell and suitable secure [or we are supposed to believe] - but this is more of an interpretation thing than something that they actually state in the text... to my knowledge).
Given the massive amount of time that Sam spent in the Cage I have no doubt that he was pulled inside out in every sense of the term - mentally, physically, spiritually, and in a similar way as we see Lucifer walk Sam through his own memories here. I don't think there's a single thing that Lucifer didn't do to him there. The only consistency in Sam's hell is Lucifer and the knowledge of their isolation. Hell is Lucifer and this makes his s7 hallucinations and time with him in s11 indistinguishable from the Cage. Just as Mary in apocalypse world with Lucifer is indistinguishable from hell - the Cage. Basically.
All of this to say........... interesting word choice there Sam.
