stories from my hiatus

stranger things season 3 was not only the best season of that show so far, but alongside good omens and always be my maybe was the best thing i watched this summer. let’s go team scoops troop

remember woohyun’s comeback? it was so great! so were the glimpses i got of his solo concerts. now what i really need from him is to get his cute butt to army and get it over with. please and thank you.

comebacks imminent for bolppalgan4, KARD, choa & way, AND AKMU OMG. i cannot describe my excitement for akmu’s return!!! and profound relief that yg’s implosion didn’t mean the end of my favorite baby geniuses. thank goodness chanhyuk is done with enlistment and we can get on with excellent music.

gbbo continues to be the most wonderful show ever made, and i am made of smiles while watching it. my early fave this season is michelle, followed closely by michael and helena. and henry’s tie. < *spoilers* > i never expected fig newtons to be featured as a technical challenge and am delighted by the pretentious silliness of it. thank god jamie’s gone what a nincompoop < /*spoilers* >

lee taemin has come into his own as a pretty amazing solo artist. kudos to his japan tour it was awesome. also he appears to have started an instagram solely for the purpose of telling his hyungs he misses them over and over. they in turn have been slobbering over him from afar, and sending him coffee trucks because minho is always doing the most. as for my thoughts on superm? well, i like many others thought the group was called “sperm” at first. frankly, that would have been a better name. avengers of kpop indeed. honestly... is any of this really... necessary?

f(x) ended with a whimper instead of a bang, which is the greatest injustice of our modern times. i pray my favorite girls will have nothing but success in their future careers now that they are finally free of sm. krystal too, assuming she leaves once her contract expires. i’ll never stop being mad about f(x). and i’ll never stop listening to their albums.

authors who write mpreg ending only in c-sections are cowards. nature designed baby humans to come out the same way they go in, so unless all male pregnancies ended in death for parent and fetus prior to the advent of modern surgical medicine, then you’d better damn well be writing some ass babies. this has bugged me for YEARS. get it together, fandom. (i read a lot of fic. i have opinions and i need to get them off my chest)

i’ve been rereading the harry potter series in full, not just bits here and there, for the first time since the books originally came out, and i still have so many emotions about these characters. also i am perplexed to discover that this time around draco malfoy is my shipping bicycle. that was definitely not part of my read the first time. 

fans of hala will be pleased to hear that the vet recently proclaimed her “the youngest 12-year-old cat he’s ever met.” still hale and hearty, still plucky as a kitten, still fluffy and cute as a button, still puking up hairballs approximately every 15 minutes. she may be an old lady, but she can’t discern the passage of time and so forgot to act geriatric.

myungsoo leaving woollim was a surprise. when hoya left it seemed like the most natural decision for him (even if his post-infinite activities were decidedly lackluster prior to his enlistment) (except for his high school dance team. that was transcendent). but myungsoo’s departure took me aback. i suppose it’s time, if he wants to only act from now on. but somehow i thought it wouldn’t happen until after enlistment was done for everybody. i experienced sadness. he’ll always be my pudding, and he takes my heart with him forever as he goes.

do this if you like veggie juice and bubbly things: mix vegetable (like V-8) or tomato juice 50/50 with club soda and squeeze a little lemon into it. 

jaejoong spent the summer giving love advice on a dating show. a real thing that happened in the real world. 

my nephews, aged 6 to 10, have started making movies in their backyard, with the eldest adding the sound effects and music. i was recently treated to a movie night starring four little boys in blanket capes battling an evil crow to save the kingdom. it had five parts. there was popcorn. i don’t think i’ve ever been more delighted.

nothing stays the same, but it’s alright. we’ll just keep swimming.

Sometimes when I watch bts's 2014-2015 videos, I feel bad for jimin. Jm is always looking after jk in the earlier days and always accomodating towards jk. But then he gets comments like jk hates him from the fans. Even in more recent vlives, like in bon voyage when jk loses the game & have to sleep on the floor, jm asks jk if he wanted to sleep on the bed instead because his used to sleeping on the floor anyways. & there is also that billboard vlive as well as the american interview (1/2)

(2/2)where jk was angry that another member was touching jm. Jm realises and try tomake eye contact but jk wouldn’t make eye contact. Jm then discreetly removedwho ever is touching him, and kept looking pretty sad at jk in the rear camera,only smiling when jk actually smiles again. Sometimes I kind of wish jk will bemore accomodating towards jm and be a little less possessive XD. Jm is a socialbee but I feel like he holds back because of jk 

My answer: First of all, I do think JK is jealous sometimes (why? who knows), specially when Jimin is interacting with his friends (e.g: Taemin, Sungwoon…). But all those “jeonlous moments” could have another explanation. I don’t see JK as this “controlling and possesive” human (whenever JK acts “jealous” he just tries to stop looking at what it’s bothering him). Those adjetives belong to other ships’ fantasies… And I trully hope that JK doesn’t stop Jimin from being himself because that would be a pretty toxic relationship. 

On the other hand, those examples you gave are real, those clips are out there. Who knows? Maybe JK was angry at Jimin but for other reasons… or we just read JK’s gestures wrong. 🤷‍♀️

2nd anon (maybe the same? idk): And on that topic, i would like to add 2014 fetus JK treated JM like thosekindergarten crushing where they always be mean and tease the hell out of thetheir target.

My answer: That’s what I always thought, anon! It was his defense mechanism. He didn’t know how to be like Jimin with Jimin, so he tried another way of communicating (a pretty weird one, Jungoo).

I’ve already said what I think about them, but my opinion is not the most interesting part of this story. Knowing they’ve reached so many hearts is what trully amazes me… Different people with different cultures, ages, minds… We all feel intrigued about them. 

PS: If I end up writing that post about their development, expect a mf essay lol. I will take it very seriously, you know I respect them a lot.

Guide to UNB

UNB is a 9  member group from the show “The Unit”, were idols from less known groups showcased their talents and helped promote their groups! UNB is set to promote this year alongside the girl group that also came out of the show, UNI.T. 

The Members  The group was determined by votes and I will present them here by the order they were chosen: 

1. Jun 

Birth Name: Lee Jun Young  Position: Main Vocalist, Rapper, Lead Dancer, Center (He’s the face of the group as that was the price for the first place winner) Birthday: January 22, 1997  Group: U-Kiss  Facts about him: He’s admired by the members as well as other Unit contestants for his ability to rap, sing and dance very well (he’s Golden lol). During the show he juggled his missions with U-Kiss schedules.  He got the Super Boot from the audience. meaning 90% of the audience voted for him to move on to the show, and the judges didn’t get a say on that. Tallest member at 6′1″

2.  Euijin (My bias, my babe, I love this guy so much)

Birth Name: Lee Eui Jin Position: Main Dancer, Vocalist Birthday: February 15, 1990  Group: BIGFLO (Former member of A.CIan) Facts: He’s considered one of the best dancers that were on the show and specializes in hip hop popping. He and Feeldog were often set against each other to see who was the best dancer which was funny because they like and respect each other very much. He’s the oldest of the group and already did his military service. Other contestants noticed a resemblance to Jimin. 

3.  Hojung

Birth Name: Ko Ho-jung (고호정) Position: Vocalist, Dancer, Visual Birthday: October 20, 1994  Group: HOTSHOT Facts: Followed the steps of other HotShot members (Sungwoon and Noh Tae Hyun that went to Produce 101). He has a great body from working out and he knows it lol  He got the Super Boot from the audience alongside his group mate Timoteo (this was heart wrenching too, Taemin from Shinee cried. It was so sad) 4. FeelDog 

Birth Name: Oh Kwang Suk Position: Leader, Main Rapper, Main Dancer, Vocalist Birthday: February 26, 1992  Group: BIGSTAR Facts: He was chosen by the majority of the group. He got first place in The Unit‘s Dance Position Battle and was considered the best dancer in the show. While the audience did not give him a super boot all 6 judges voted for him to be on the show. He’s the shortest at 5′6″

5. Marco

Birth Name: Lee Hyung Geun  Position: Lead Rapper Birthday: May 11, 1993 Group: HBY (Hot Blood Youth) Facts: The duality of men in one person.(Seriously...) He was one of the most surprising picks as he was never in the top 10 while the show was airing. Had dread and swag, the judges thought he was American, but he’s actually from Korea. Wanted to become a comedian. 

6.  Hansol

Birth Name: Ji Han Sol  Position: Lead Dancer, Vocalist Birthday: November 21, 1994  Group: Former member of SM Rookies (Was supposed to debut with NCT but left the agency) Facts: He’s a very good contemporary dancer and used to dance back up for Taemin while being a SM trainee. He got the Super Boot from the audience. Reserved and quiet, he’s very shy which is why he’s often asked to do aegyo (and the result’s are hilarious) 7. Daewon (the bias wrecker) 

Birth Name: Park Dae Won Position: Lead Dancer, Vocalist Birthday: March 17, 1992 Group: MADTOWN Facts: A ball of sunshine, he and fellow member Lee Geon auditioned together and he only got 1 judge vote (because of his respectful demeanor)  and that was enough to continue in the competition. Only person that wanted to help MAS, a band learn choreo during the show and got the nickname of “Angel” because of that. Has 5 dogs. 

8.  Kijung

Birth Name: Kim Ki-joong  Position: Vocalist, Maknae Birthday: January 24, 2001 Group: IM Facts: The Maknae of the group, he gets away with murder lol.  He was the center of The Unit‘s “My Turn”, the first mission and music video of the show. He named Jimin his role model. He’s always making funny faces and doing things to make the other members laugh. Literal fetus. His voice was changing during the show and he could not hit the high notes, poor baby. 

9.Chan

Birth Name: Kang Yu Chan  Position: Main Vocalist Birthday: December 31, 1997 Group: A.C.E Facts: He was also a surprise in the top 9, never being in the top 10 before the finals. He’s the main vocalist for a reason, his voice is amazing! Super funny and loves to joke around. Even though his specialty is singing, he’s a really good hip hop dancer.
