Just wanted to say guys just play the Trails of Cold Steel series. There's a school, magic, a smart witch girl, a redhead best friend, a blond asshole (w/ better char development), & the satisfaction none of your $$ went to a TERF has-been writer.

look at this point, the 'Hogwarts open world game' (as my nibling described it) could be a masterful piece of trans inclusiveness (it's not. in the least. completely barring that it will put money in JKR's pocket, it's horrible) and you should still boycott it over the RAMPART AND OBVIOUS antisemitism. Shit, guys. no amount of donating to trans causes is going to make up for the planting of these images in people's minds. (or drawing them out; society is fucked like that sometimes) Blood libel, war crimes, torture, hate, it's just a smorgasbord of glitchy terror. Everytime I hear more about it, it sounds WORSE. (how can it keep getting worse?)
I get it okay. Hogwarts was a huge part of your childhood. it made you feel like you were part of something. Been there. But it's not worth it. You can hold onto your memories of how it made you feel. But you can't keep making excuses for it. (it's like an ex. They may have loved you, you may have loved them. But they're only hurting you and other people now. You have to let them go)

Kind of upsetting how as soon as you leave the trans+ echochamber you realise how little everyone cares. Even queer people or queer "allies" become apathetic if they're far enough away from trans people. Not to bring up the wizard game but the number of people playing it who I would have previously referred to them as allies without question has really done a number on me ngl

RE: Hogwarts Legacy and My Last Few Posts
Let me be clear: No, I will not be playing Hogwarts Legacy in any form. Never have, never will.
So, funny story (not really): Someone spoiled the ending(s) in the ask box (not that I care about spoilers in general) and I thought they were mad about me calling attention to what people are saying about the name "Sirona Ryan" (the name of the *token* transgender character in the game). After scrolling through the Hogwarts Legacy tag and educating myself about the real issue at hand, I now realize they thought I had bought the game and was actively playing it or that I had the intention to.
Listen, I love this franchise (minus its obvious problems). It's been a huge part of my life for a very long time. With that said, no amount of nostalgia is enough to pay for and/or play a game that funds a TERF to a degree and centers around an antisemitic plotline.
So, as much as I would love to immerse myself in this nostalgia (once again, excluding its obvious flaws), it's just not worth it to me. The lives of those negatively affected by anything JKR stands for matter a million times more than getting to jinx unsuspecting classmates. Honestly, if I wanted to play an open-world game, I would play Minecraft. At least Microsoft isn't bigoted to my knowledge (please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't wanna get hated on for my lack of knowledge).
To conclude, Trans lives matter. Jewish lives matter. F*ck JKR. F*ck Hogwarts Legacy. I can't control what others do with their money (though I recommend you don't buy the thing), but I personally cannot, in good conscience, play Hogwarts Legacy myself.
I apologize if anyone took my previous posts about the game the wrong way. It was never my intention to offend anyone in any way. My only intention was to say "Hey, let's be a little more careful with how we name our characters, okay?"
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
TL;DR: I will not be playing Hogwarts Legacy. I apologize if my last posts were taken the wrong way. Thanks for educating me, people of Tumblr. Also, F*ck JKR and the game's plotline.

Wizard RPG that takes the Vancian "spells are demons made of math that live in your brain" thing to its logical yet absurd conclusion and casts the player character's prepared spells as a Disco Elysium style internal peanut gallery that influences dialogue trees and makes fun of your decisions. I want to get relationship advice from magic missile.

So, what is the OGL and why are DnD creators thoroughly screwed?
Tumblr has not been doing a great job at talking about this, but:
With OneDnD, Wizards of the Coast has decided to update the Open Game License (OGL). Said license is what allowed people to create homebrew DnD content and sell it, and even larger companies to use certain sorts of content. Pathfinder, for example, is built on said OGL. This also allows streamers and artists to exist and benefit from said content.
With OneDnD (sometimes called “dnd 6e”), WOTC wants to create a much more restrictive OGL, which will, amongst other things:
Make WOTC take a cut for any DnD-related work (according to Kickstarter, a whole 25% of the benefits)
Let WOTC cancel any project related to DnD up to their discretion
Let WOTC take ANY content made based on their system, and re-sell it without crediting you, or giving you a single cent
And most importantly, revoke the old OGL, which will harm any company or game system that used it as a base, such as Pathfinder. And it means they GET ownership over any homebrew content you may have done for 5e in the past!
It’s important to note that OGLs are supposedly irrevocable. They were planning to use it for OneDnD initially, but they want to apply it retroactively to 5e, somehow. Which is illegal, but lawyers have mentioned there’s a chance they may get away with it given the wording.
Tumblr media
This means that anything you make based on DnD (A homebrew item? A character drawing? Even music, according to them?), can get taken and used as they deem appropiate.
These news come from a leak of the OGL, which have been confirmed by multiple reputable sources (including Kickstarter, which has confirmed that WOTC already talked with them about this), and was planned to be released next week.
So, what can we do?
Speak against it. Share the word. Reblog this post. Let people know. Tumblr hasn’t been talking much about this matter, but it’s VERY important to let people know about what is WOTC bringing.
Boycott them. Do not buy their products. Do not buy games with their IP. Do not watch their movie. CANCEL your DnD Beyond subscription. (Btw, they ARE planning to release more subscription services too!). They do not care about the community, but they care about the money. Make sure to speak through it.
And maybe consider other TTRPG systems for the time being, Pathfinder’s Paizo has been much nicer to the community, their workers are unionized and are far more healthy overall

DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game
Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter.
Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.
The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge.
And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).
And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game.
Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.
(The most intense card game of the Justice league’s life).
After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely).
Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.
#DPxDC#dcxdp#Danny makes a card game to save the world.#Technically he worded the ritual so that they had to ‘beat’ him as those are the most powerful barriers and most reliable.#keys can just get lost or stolen (like the one to Pariah’s Coffin)#A riddle would be useless once someone figured out the answer. Like how no one takes the sphynx seriously anymore.#(Sorry Tuck. But it’s true).#And there is NO WAY Danny is just leaving a hole open for anyone to pass through. No thank you!#So…beating him. But it’s not like Danny wanted to fight so…he edited the ritual a TINY bit. Card games are good. Much less painful too.#Danny Tucker and Sam made the most complicated card game they could imagine.#It’s based on their strategies for fighting ghosts. Capturing them in thermoses. And MUCH based on a on field battle strategy.#It often requires spontaneous thinking on the spot. So Danny? In his ELEMNT. It doubles as practice for his actual ghost battles too.#They had SO much fun making this.#Sam added an entire series of plant cards that act as traps and healing ointments and duds that just take up the field.#Tucker added legitimate hyroglyphics combined with Latin as well as English and ghost speak.#Yes. You actually have to speak that language to play. With proper pronunciation. (Amity Parker’s think the three are talking gibberish.)#I headcanon Sam and Tucker are fluent in Ghost.#Constantine WILL figure this game out SO HELP HIM!#Some of the cards also have combinations related to constellations either in name or placement on the board.#By the way the board is based on a Hexagonal summoning circle with Rhunes along the edges#And the placement of the cards on the board and on what rhune MATTERS.#Also the cards move disintegrate and have certain abilities. Think of Harry Potter Wizard Chess.#But they are normal when Danny plays at school. This is just for ✨effect✨ Against invaders.#Danny faces multiple opponents. He also halts alien invasions.#While Danny COULD stop crime on earth he’s not sure how to fight a normal human and hold back so he sticks to ghosts.#The Justice league are going crazy trying to figure out who this entity is and after deep research are convinced this is some sort of#Ancient being who has protected earth for millenia. They have paintings on ruins and everything.#Danny is not aware they think this.#Raven starts praying to Danny as if he is a god and wrangles the other Teen Titans into doing so as well. Danny is still unaware of this.#Danny is not a King or an ancient. Just a very VERY strong ghost.

I hope I don’t come off as “That guy” but I will say this: having a single game/anything as some kind of purity test for your political cause is bad.
I do agree that the controversy surrounding this game plays a big factor in how successful it is, but we’re talking about an ip thats been around for 20+ years where kids today are still running around in hogwarts robes at universal orlando with their parents. Its less about them being complicit and more to do with not being as politically conscious as the average twitter/tumblr user. Of course JK’s face has been on the news for her statements but there’s still masses of people who are unaware or don’t fathom the contribution they have to her work can lead to. Even without the backlash, this game is still going to sell like hotcakes from brand name alone. Its the same thing with the current pokemon games, it runs like ass but still sold a shitton because most parents are amoral when it comes to humanitarian causes and just want to support their family in any way.  No matter how right/wrong you are, convincing someone that they’ve contributed to murder because they bought a video game will always sound silly.
I believe its better do direct your anger towards those who are buying them out of spite and to get a rise out of you. They’re fully aware of what’s going on but are getting a kick out of it, I’d say you have every right to judge them on their merit or any future contributions to the trans community. The same goes for those who are cognizant but choose to play because “they don’t care” but will swap their avatars to pride flags on june. IMO if you don’t care, cool. There’s so many other crisis for human rights going on in the world that I just don’t care about, but I’m not going to show up to a pride parade for fun if I never cared in the first place. Even streamers who backed out of playing it admit that they’re only doing it because they’re afraid of harrasment, which is why these witch hunts do nothing if its going to be filled with people who are recruited from sheer fear/shame mongering and will leave the second things die down.
I don’t have an answer on what to do at this point, especially against a terf icon that has so much wealth and influence over the entertainment industry. I don’t advocate for silence because talking about it is great for awareness. I don’t believe shaming people about a single transaction is the right move if you don’t know the intent behind it, especially for a fucking video game.
