Hi hi! I'm sure you have loads of asks to get through. But if you may, we talk a lot about Chilchuck and Marcille (as we should 'cause they're great!), but since you've mentioned that Laios is your fave char, I would love to hear if you have any takes on Laios and Izutsumi's dynamic. I feel sometimes like she doesn't really like him...? It's funny but I also feel bad for him sometimes. ^^;;

You can’t ask me this and expect me to not drop everything else I’m doing. Little did you know they are my brotp. They are so special. Izutsumi gets along more with literally everyone in the party, but their relationship was so narratively important. They’re a really underrated and overlooked dynamic! I’ve had them as a topic at the back of my mind for a while, seeing someone else interested was all the push I needed gdbdg. This isn’t super long though, their issues with each other and lil arc is surprisingly brief and easy to summarize.

Laios & Izutsumi : what’s their deal with each other

For me one foundational train of thought for Izutsumi & Laios is, well. I read this awesome smart post deconstructing how Izutsumi’s beef with Laios is because she only just broke free and wants freedom without having someone ordering her around, and that’s sort of her whole character arc, isn’t it?

Isn’t Izutsumi’s picky eating a reflection of just that? In a life where she was a slave, she could at least control what she chose to eat and not eat. But then you might wonder, why did the narrative want her to grow out of that? Simply put, Izutsumi has a contrarian streak, one that is often extremely counterproductive. We saw that especially near the beginning, with how hard it was to make her work with them as a team. The issue is that now that she is free, she needs to not block out others by habit, to not lash out and refuse the healthy things in life, the people who want good for her. And that’s something that’s addressed in the succubus chapter as well as the fight against the ice golem, that she shouldn’t insist that she can do everything alone and fight against any team effort.

I love how onesided the Laios izutsumi dynamic is. He stays away from her generally, like doesn’t interact much, but he wants the cat pats… Which Izu made clear she did NOT want. And Chil is the only one in the party to not really see her as a cat for most of the story really, as shown in the relationship chart. He’s well meaning and wants the best for her, but he crowds her and doesn’t understand her at all. But he reallyyy wants to get along with her.

On the other hand, Izutsumi’s very existence and identity gave Laios an immense amount of hope that Falin could be brought back and still be herself and live well, even if she still had part of a dragon’s soul in her. I think that’s a lovely way to contrast the way that Izutsumi hates herself as a beastkin and her body, while Laios is like "Thank you, your existence as you are is the answer to all my worries" AND he super likes monster bodies and beastkins so it’s like. I think part of her hostility to him, besides feeling like he doesn’t understand her perspective and is maybe dismissive of what his party members want (which would remind her of Maizuru to some degree probably), is that he says all these good things about her being a beastkin, and it’s so jarring with her own version of herself that it raises her hackles and she reacts negatively, especially with how flippant and eager he is about it. But yes like, this is their first meeting!! Beyond his interest in her as a beastkin because of his monster hobby, Laios is just so very grateful for her and chooses to put his trust in her.

That’s interesting too, how one of the first things she asks about upon meeting them is why the hell they would want to rescue Falin even if she were to stay as a chimera-beastkin and still have the dragon soul in her. It’s her asking "Who would want to stick with a beastkin?" thinking that there’s something fundamentally wrong with having two souls and it making you unlovable. And their differing views on monsters do make them clash

But ultimately he chills out about her, which ironically enough shows in the way that they don’t interact much- He gives her space, and accepts that the beastkin may not like him. BUT at the end of the day they have an incredible bond of trust- Laios asks Izutsumi to kill him if something goes wrong with the Winged Lion. Not only is that sort of an intimate request and act, but that means that he leaves it up to Izutsumi’s judgement as well to know if it went wrong and when to act. He doesn’t only trust her skills but also her decision making, despite how tough they’ve been on each other in the past. He’s giving her the ultimate role, the go ahead to make or break their plan and be the difference between saving or destroying the world. And the last tidbit of info we get on their relationship in canon is when she hides behind him because she’s shy- Certified having befriended the cat moment. She trusts him and sees him as a safe person! And by saying that she’s shy, he’s showing that he did end up understanding her and how she is.

No matter the rocky parts of their relationship, they still have a strong foundation to it and were great allies and road companions, one of the few persons that had each other’s back when it mattered the most, both for the world and for their personal arcs. And post-canon, well…

He’s accepted that she needs space and whatnot, and meanwhile she’s accepted his interest in monsters and taken it in stride 😌 They end up having this familiarity with each other and even if there’s still a bunch of emotional distance imo and they never really got into the nitty gritty with each other not like her with Chilchuck or even Marcille, they see each other. They nod in greeting and respect each other from afar……. But also still tease and chat familiarly up close and if she offers him the opportunity for cuddles he will take it. You know, if it’s not her just falling onto him because she’s sleeping she has no respect.

Siblings behavior… If you know my take on the general party dynamics, I love thinking of Laios & Izu’s dynamic as him being an older brother figure where they have a love-hate relationship. Siblings rivalry. I have a bunch of funny little doodles I’ve wanted to make with them for months, the prompts for which are in the screenshot put below. But yeah like you know, they’re protective of each other but in that very critical way as well, truly forged by being stuck with each other for a while and having to come to understand and accept how the other is. Strife with conflict, but ultimately sticking with each other through thick and thin… Siblings siblings SIBLINGS SIBLINGS SIBLINGS. Sigh I just want them to cuddle on a couch and she purrs while simultaneously being snide and mean to him, they are so… Izutsumi is the character ever

Oh, which! While I’m here, I always recommend this fanfic about the two of them interacting and Laios treating her like a cat, it’s just fun and lighthearted. They’re suuuuch an underrated duo

If I find more Laios & Izu moments I think are worth sharing I’ll just add it onto this I think. We shouldn’t be too hard on him he was raised by dogs so cats are a whole other language to him but also, so wild to me that he never tried to engage with her on a cat level properly like where is the hissing at the catgirl and the cat taming moments, he sucks at socializing with cats smh smh.

I want to do an analysis of queerness in Dungeon Meshi with relationships and social norms and stuff and Izutsumi’s arc is gonna be central to that too. Her relationship with EVERYONE is SOOO GOOD AND IMPORTANT AND COMPELLING. But I guess this is where I leave it off for now, I hope I’m not forgetting any point I wanted to make hmmm

THW Rewrite

More headcannons because I have not been able to stop thinking about this franchise for the past 13 years, and I have over a decade's worth of opinions.

I've already posted some of these ideas but ehh it's fine.

While I enjoyed watching it for the first time, THW was disappointing to me for a variety of reasons. (The music was probably the best out the franchise though, I'll say that) Grimmel didn't reach his full villain potential since the writers used Ruffnut's lack of judgment as his key to success instead of him being a capable strategist. (Also they did my girl so dirty. She may be a dumbass, but she's not an idiot!) I don't like that the dragons left after just 6 years. I don't like that all the riders except for Hiccup and Astrid are just played for laughs instead of shining like they do in RTTE. I don't like whatever the hell Snotlout's obsession with Valka was, and I didn't like Toothless' "romance" with the Light Fury. I hate that even dragons can't escape half-developed romance and a nuclear family as the ultimate character accomplishment.

So here are my edits (looking back, there's quite a bit going on, so it may need to be split into 2 movies or a short TV series)

The time jump happens between movies 2 and 3. (I want a full movie with bearded Hiccup and "Homecoming" does NOT count) 10-15 years have passed, so the riders are about 30-35. Zephyr and Nuffink are either little kids or preteens and are getting to an age where they're starting to train dragons.

Astrid is more rough around the edges like she was in HTTYD 1 and Rob/Dob/RTTE, not just Hiccup's supportive gf/wife. Instead of making her softer, motherhood has made her fiercer because she has more people to protect. Hiccup on the other hand is a doting father and can't say no to the kids if they give him puppy dog eyes: heart melted every time.

Toothless finds his original flock(?)/herd?/murder?/unkindness?/parliament? of Night Furies instead of just one "soulmate". Each can have their own personalities and roles in the group while Toothless is the baby. I think it would be interesting if, like Hiccup, Toothless was quite small compared to his peers - potentially explaining why he was on his own and got separated from the group before meeting Hiccup.

Dagur and Heather are brought into a council meeting as Berserker allies. Hiccup greets them in a way that clarifies things for audience members who haven't watched the show. I suppose Mala would also be in it too. I don't dislike Mala but I hate her and Dagur's relationship. More development needed there.

Gustav should be there too, still very much trying to prove himself as a dragon rider and occasionally messing things up.

In terms of the main plot and villains, I'm not too picky, although I've said before that I'm tired of dragon mind-control being the main villain tool. I'm fine with it if Drago comes back as the villain, but if not, the villain should just be dragon hunters or rival dragon riders who use their dragons for conquering/raiding other settlements.

It can hit pretty much hit the same story beats as before but with better character dynamics.

Make Ruff and Tuff more instrumental to mischief and redirection in a way that helps the plot.

Give Fishlegs more credit for his discoveries and record-keeping about dragons.

Snotlout and Eret are together (or implied to be together if that's the best we can get). Snotlout is also no longer Hiccup's rival - he should be his second in command. They can disagree from time to time, but ultimately, his loyalty is not in question.

Fishlegs and Ruffnut have kids who cause chaos with Zephyr and Nuffink.

It would be cool to include a couple characters from other parts of the world with dragon mythology. I understand that Vikings are white but if we have goddamn flying dragons, there's no reason there can't be visitors from other cultures (who aren't villains).

Ending option 1: The movie can end with the dragons going away, but now they've been with the Berkians for over a decade and it just feels more impactful.

The "there were dragons when I was a boy" line can either be Hiccup talking to his grandson after an even longer time jump, or Nuffink talking to his own kids about Hiccup's adventures.

Ending 2: the Berkians go to The Hidden World with the dragons. Hiccup writes a memoir to leave behind. We hear him reading from it at the beginning and assume that means dragons are going to leave, but it's actually a diversion to make people think dragons are gone so no one tries to look for them.

Ending 3: We accept that HTYYD takes place in a different world so we don't have to explain why dragons don't live among us anymore. The movie ends with Hiccup vowing to make the archipelago safe for all dragons and Nuffink and Zephyr take up the mantle of discovering new dragons. The dragons stay and they all live happily ever after, the end :)

I'm tempted to actually write this as a fanfiction but I already got a lot of writing projects atm. We shall see.

Chapter 1

The world is a mysterious, yet ever changing thing.

A world where once reigned in just two secondary genders at one point. Alpha and Omega. A world where one claimed one another as forever mates, one able to provide of children, the other to be the protector of its pack.

But now it is 2023. The world only reigns in Betas, the middle in between an Alpha and Omega, someone who provides children with the adequate amount of treatments and prescriptions in medications, making them fertile. That is how the world procreated and mutated into just this kind of gender.

This happened once laws started being created, feeling as if Omegas did not have any kind of say in many things, regarding them as small, powerless, and people who were just created for the sole purpose of procreation. That led to forced mating, even rape and abuse. Omegas who did not feel bonded to their Alphas in any way, even Omegas being sold as slaves and breeding machines.

After the 1900's the Omega and Alpha population decreased, and it continued on till the days of today. People dated who they wanted, married who they wanted, and procreated with who they desired and if they desired it.

Alphas and Omegas do not exist.

But mother nature is wise.

"I do not!" You screamed loudly as you blocked yet another person off from your dating app. Robin was sitting next to you as she laughed loudly, throwing her head back with the bottle of beer in her hand.

"Yes, yes you are picky, and it's time you realize this." She commented, making you squirm in your place.

"Robin, committing to someone is a big deal, it's not that I'm picky cause I want to." You tried to excuse yourself with the faintest of blushes and then Steve looked at the screen and back at you as he took a sip of his beer. The bar you are in was not that crowded yet, the Happy Hour started a few minutes ago, and you had decided with your friends to come by for a drink since it was friday already and the stress from work was eating you up.

"Okay, what did this guy have then?" Steve asked, pointing at the phone. You shrugged, scrunching up your nose as you looked at the picture with the 'Blocked' sign over it.

"Well, he was nice, and all…" You started and Steve hummed, coarsing you to keep going. "But then he started talking about his ex, and that's like, a big red flag." Steve now made a face of disgust and looked at Robin.

"Okay, yeah, she's got a point there Robs." He says with a nod and you look at Robin with an 'I told you so' grin. She just rolled her eyes at you and took another sip of her drink.

"It doesn't take away the fact that you are picky. Last guy, you fucked him, and he wasn't good at it. Then the other girl you rejected because her hair had not been washed for a week, which by the way, it's normal for a healthy scalp! Then there was Thomas, who I don't know why you even rejected." Robin says with a cross of her arms, looking at you and you simply shrugged.

"He was just… He was just that. Meh." You say with a shrug, taking a sip of your daiquiri. Another voice chirps in, making you look up at the bartender in front of you.

"I can say you are picky." Jonathan says while wiping the glass in his hand. He was grinning at you as you sunk in the bar in shame. "Yeah, I have a right to say it."

"It was different with you Jonathan, I just felt like a friendship connection with you, instantly." You say with a wince and a blush. Jonathan had asked you out the first time he met you, and you did go on a date with him because he seemed nice and polite, only to find out that you weren't really attracted to the poor guy. Gladly, he had said the same thing about you, and even if you kissed in order to find that out, there was never awkwardness between you two.

"Yeah, but I did do the whole dating plan, and you still did not want to be with me." He says with a grin looking at Steve.

"And thank god she is picky." Steve says with a smile, leaning over the bar to plant a soft kiss on his boyfriend's lips. You whined as well as Robin, making a disgust noise.

"Can you please not eat in front of the poor?" You say with a whine, taking a sip of your drink.

"Not their problem if you can't get a decent date."

And that was the voice you despised the most, coming right from behind you. Your eyes immediately turned into a glare as you shoot it behind your shoulder.

"Munson. You weren't even in the conversation." You say with a sneer and he shrugged, his dark curls moving over his shoulders, over his dark denim jacket with a smirk on his lips.

"You were loud enough." He says while greeting Steve with a pat to his shoulder.

Eddie Munson. Local owner of a Mechanic shop at the end of the main street, best friends with Steve Harrington, and who you got acquainted with thanks to meeting Robin at work. You've known him for a year, and your first interaction was interesting to say the least.

"Guys, hope you don't mind, I brought my new coworker and new best friend over." Robin said with a smile as she stepped first into the bar, greeting Steve, Nancy, Eddie, Argyle and Jonathan at a booth at the bar.

"New best friend Buckley? Seriously?" Steve asked with an eyebrow raised up as you came out from behind Robin's protective back, showing your face.

"We bonded over Golden Girls." You said with a smile, taking off the office blazer that was over you. Steve directed a smile to you and got up from his seat, putting a hand out to you.

"Of course it's Golden Girls… Steve Harrington." He presented himself and you looked at him, and noticed how good his hair looked, just like Robin had described. You grabbed his hand, shaking it in greeting, never losing your smile, giving him your name.

"And she's Nancy, Jonathan, Argyle my dude, and Eddie." Robin presented as you let go of Steve's hand to give a nod to each person in the booth. They greeted you back, and that made your nerves dissipate just a tiny bit. You were nervous about meeting new people, having moved out of your parent's place from Atlanta and into the new city that is Indianapolis. You just wanted some independence of your own, and you got signed into a very important designer's magazine as an editor.

You left your old life back in Atlanta, wanting to start anew, meet new people, and after you got your degree and some experience in a small editorial in town, you bid your folks goodbye.

Meeting Robin first thing in your new job was like a breather, and it gave you hope in your new life in the big city. She was the one that gave you a tour around the office, and after a month of chit chatting here and there, you came around the fact that Robin was a wonderful human being, and you instantly became best friends, as if it were destiny.

You had, though, declined this invitation from her before, too afraid of meeting new people and feeling like the new branch in a tree that didn't need anymore leaves. This time, she got fed up, and almost dragged you out of the office in order to go drinking with her and her friends.

"Yo, 'sup my dudette." Argyle greeted you, making you smile immediately as you took a seat next to the person you believed she introduced as Eddie, now feeling a certain shiver down your spine as well as a flush to your cheeks.

Because Eddie was handsome.

He had long hair, which was tied up in a small ponytail, wearing a denim vest over a white tank top, his tattoo sleeves showing off on his arms which you couldn't help but stare a bit. He was like the black sheep of the group, because Nancy was wearing a nice pink cardigan, while Argyle had a simple blue shirt on, Steve had a polo shirt on, and Jonathan was wearing the bar's uniform with an apron around his waist, while you and Robin were wearing your office suits.

"So, welcoming gift from the house, whatcha want?" Jonathan said with a smile as he stood at the end of the table. You blinked at the request and tilted your head. "Oh, I am the owner of this bar." He responded with a grin to his face and you made a surprised noise as Robin sat next to you.

"Oh! I didn't know that… Okay uh… Strawberry Daiquiri?" You said with a slight wince, not used to getting things for free really, and he smiled and nodded, walking away to the bar.

"So, what brings you to the big city?" His deep voice startled you, and you looked towards Eddie who was smiling at you with beer in his hand. You looked around and saw that all eyes were staring at you and the nervousness was brought back into your belly.

"Well, um… Independence mostly. Always lived in a small town in Georgia, and I didn't have many opportunities with my degree there so… Here I am." You explained with a soft smile. A smile that hid more than you told. A smile that you hoped everyone bought.

"Oh, that's cool! We're all from the same high school, also moved to the big city for bigger opportunities." Nancy said with a smile and you blinked looking at all of them.

"Same high school? Really?"

"Except for Argyle, Eddie met him in California when he went to see Metallica once and after a while he moved here." Robin says and Argyle simply nods with a smile to his face.

"Hell yeah, been inseparable since!"

"Oh, you guys are dating?" You asked and that made everyone spit whatever they were drinking, making you jump while Argyle simply let out a big laugh.

"Do I look remotely gay to you?" Eddie asked you, wiping his mouth with his wrist and you blushed in embarrassment, noticing that you didn't say the right thing.

"I just– I don't know, he said inseparable so I assumed–"

"Well, it was wrong." He said coldly, taking you aback. You opened your mouth to apologize as the table erupted in giggles.

"Eddie and Argyle, well that is an image I did not need in my mind." Nancy said with a giggle and Eddie groaned at her in warning.

"What Brochacho? Am I not sexy enough for you?" They kept going at him, and you noticed how silent he got as they picked their fun on him. You felt small next to him, embarrassed for making him a target to his friends mocking and laughing. Jonathan came back with your drink in hand and placed it in front of you with a smile on his face.

"What's the laughter about?" He asked and Steve looked at him, hiding his chuckles, calling your name before speaking.

"She thought Argyle and Eddie were dating." He said and Jonathan started laughing as well, earning another glare from the dark haired man next to you.

That was not a good impression.

After chatting for a while, getting to know them all, coldness in Eddie's voice all the while, you saw your chance when he got up to go get a beer at the bar, and you felt the need to apologize to him, so you excused yourself from Robin and the rest, following him, standing next to him as he talked to the bartender.

"Hi… Um… I wanted to apologize for the misunderstanding– I mean, he worded it weird…" You tried to explain, feeling quite ashamed for your actions, but nonetheless he didn't look at you as the bartender handed him his beer.

"Right. Are you going to also apologize for bullshiting everyone too?" He asked with no venom, no evil, just sternly. You looked up at him with an eyebrow raised up in confusion.

"Excuse me?"

"One of my qualities, princess, is that I can read people like the back of my hand." Now he did look at you, with some sort of sly grin on his face. "Independence? I heard better excuses than that one."

"What are you even talking about?" Now it was your turn to turn angry. Who did he think he is asking you these kinds of questions? Judging you the way he was doing? Meddling in your life without even knowing you?

"Oh come on. You didn't move here just because of the thrill of it. What happened then? Mommy and Daddy cut you off?"

"Listen here, I don't even know you. I don't know who you are, but I said my motive of moving here with nothing but the truth." You spat back at him and he whistled, the grin never leaving his face, and you just wanted to punch it, right off.

"Yeah, sure. Are you going to keep lying yourself into the group?" He asked, but now, it did include venom in his voice.

He did not cause a good impression either.

So it wasn't a surprise your defense mechanism shot up by a hundred, protecting your dignity and your worth.

"Is this because your masculinity got squashed a little bit by my comment? Is your dick seriously that small?" You saw a twitch of his brows at your commentary, and you smirked right back at him, knowing you got him with that comment. But then he chuckled, shaking his head.

"We just met and you're already talking about my dick? Damn, ask a guy out on a date first next time." That made you red in the face. You took back all of the commentary you did before on his face. Right now, he was disgusting to you, a wretched thing.

"Oh please, is there even anything to talk about?" And that earned you a glare on his part.

"You seem eager to find out. C'mon, keep talking about my dick sweetheart."

And that's where it started, your rivalry, your disputes, your arguments in the group, because even if Eddie complained about him having you there, Robin never stopped inviting you, telling him to man up. You also complained of course, to which she delivered the same response to you.

You had tried to be civil with him, but he always made a small remark that got you back to square one, the insults never stopping from eachother's mouths, never overdoing the line of course, but sometimes they do get a little bit under your skin, like right now. You've been trying to find someone decent, give another chance to life, to love, yet noone was sufficient. Noone sparked anything inside of you.

And he just had to appear and make it known.

"At least I get some." You said as a snarky remark towards him as he finished greeting Robin. He simply smirked, nodding at Jonathan as a silent request for a beer, then looking at you.

"I don't need to flaunt them like you do. That need for validation is probably why they all scurry away from you." You gripped the glass a little more than before, your jaw clenching in anger, but Robin seemed to notice that Eddie was crossing the line with that one, and gladly, she covered you up.

"She is actually the one who runs away, not the other way around Eds." That made him simply hum with a nod as Jonathan gave him an opened bottle of beer. You put your cell phone away, your mood sour in just one second thanks to the man who stood next to Robin while he chatted with Jonathan.

You never understood why the dynamic was set this way, but it simply was, ever since that night. You both never saw eye to eye. You don't even know what he does in the day, or in the night, or what else he does apart from working, and he doesn't know about you either. He doesn't need to know.

Because honestly, ever since that night, when he called you out, you created a shell over you, like a protective field, not wanting to let him in. You were afraid that he would keep looking into you, making you peel the layers off, one by one.

But no, you weren't going to do that. You came a year ago to start fresh, new, without the backstory, without the need to explain your whole life to people, without the need of missing people back in Atlanta, because there were none… That's what you told them, of course.

Yet, as you swirl your daiquiri in hand, looking down at the drink, you hear him laugh with Robin, as they talked about something which you couldn't decipher, or you just didn't understand what it was. Sometimes they get stuck with their high school talking and you can barely include yourself there, but it's understandable.

You took out your cell phone again, in a way to distract yourself as Jonathan whispered to Steve so he could hear him with the music of the bar. You opened up instagram to look at the new profile that followed you. Jason Carver. Mutual people: RobinBuckeee, SteveHarrington94, Nance_Wheels, argzzthedude, J_Byers.

You tilted your head as you started scrolling through the profile. Blonde, blue eyes, great body. No body modification, at least anywhere to be seen. You took a sip of your daiquiri, not noticing the person hovering over your shoulder, looking down at the screen.

"Oh, I wouldn't recommend him, Sweetheart." Your eyes glared up towards nothing as you looked down towards the screen again.

"Why's that Munson?"

"Heard his dick is the size of a thumb." He said with a snicker, which you only huffed at and looked over your shoulder to look at him.

"Oh, no. No, no… He's right, don't." Your eyes frowned and looked at your friend with complete confusion.

"What? I mean, you guys follow him too. Is he from your school or same town?" You asked and Robin sighed, nodding.

"We went to the same high school. Jason was a bully. Like a real asshole with a capital A." You looked at the screen again, tilting your head. He didn't really look like an asshole to you, but if you learnt something in life, is to never take appearances for granted.

"Okay… But just if I want to–" And you clicked follow back with your finger, making Robin groan. You giggled at her reaction and put your phone away, only for a scoff to be heard behind you.

"What a disappointment that will be." Eddie remarks and sits next to Steve, finally, moving away from you, a person away, but it's still a nice amount of distance. You didn't follow him on social media, and he didn't follow you either. You didn't want to know anything about him, or even hear about him. Sure, you sometimes see Stories posted from Argyle or Steve sharing a beer or doing something stupid with him, but that's about it. You don't need him in your life.

You just really fucking hate Eddie Munson.

Hi! 😅 What is your least favorite stereotype or generalization about Killugon/Leopika that you see often in the Hunter x Hunter fandom? It doesn’t have to be the most common ones, you can say some that you just personally don’t agree with!

Hello! I've seen other peoples' answers floating around, it's interesting to read different takes on this topic!

I want to preface this by saying I think one of the great things about fandom is that everyone is able to explore their own ideas freely and create the kind of content they want to see in the world, so while I have my own personal tastes I don't want to discourage anyone from creating what makes them happy, even if it's not my thing.

I'm quite picky about characterization personally, though I don't think my tastes/opinions are too unpopular.

With KilluGon especially, a lot of what bothers me boils down to making their relationship/dynamic way more uneven than it is in canon. One of the things I value about their relationship is that they're the same age, similarly value and care about each other, they have around the same strength/level of talent, etc. It's so special that they managed to find someone who matches them so well, someone they can truly consider an equal.

So, I find it off-putting when people drastically change the balance between them so one is much bigger/stronger/older looking or acting/has more power in the relationship/etc. (or vice versa of course). It just doesn't feel like their dynamic any more at that point. Of course they have different personalities so they'll have different ways of interacting with each other, and I'm also not talking about normal height variation (though I personally prefer them to end up around the same height, give or take a few inches on either side), but when there's a strong focus on some form of inequality between them in the dynamic, it's very unappealing to me. A lot of times this comes from trying to force them into stereotypes they don't fit.

I've talked about this extensively in meta form, but the common belief that Killua's feelings are much stronger and heavier than Gon's really bothers me, too. While I agree that Killua clearly seems to have a better understanding of his feelings and what they mean (I think he's ahead of Gon in this because of his introspective personality/higher awareness on the topic), that doesn't mean Gon's feelings towards Killua have less weight or meaning.

His mental health deteriorating in Chimera Ant Arc and him lashing out that one time doesn't erase all of the tons of kindness and affection he gave Killua prior to that, and it's clear that Killua is incredibly special to Gon. He even states that out loud multiple times to Killua! The ways they show it are different, but in my eyes they adore each other equally, and I do see that extending into a romantic sense as well--even if Gon still has to "catch up" in terms of understanding the nature of his feelings.

I also think some people don't know how to portray Gon in contrast to Killua, and he can come off as bland and generic instead of his amazing complicated self, or he gets treated like he's not intelligent in his own right.

Also, I totally get why people make this kind of thing (because I love tragedies in other stories), but I personally can't deal with endings where Gon and Killua don't ultimately get to be happy together. They've just been through so much already, they clearly want to be together, plz don't separate them ultimately... 😭 I know people gotta explore the angst, and to be fair I definitely like the angst in the context of what they've been through/what they might still have to go through to be back together again, but I just can't deal with unhappy endings for them. I also don't like seeing them in relationships with or even romantically interested in anyone else even temporarily, but that's just me being extra picky, LOL.

I don't engage with LeoPika works to quite the same degree even though I like the ship, but I get irritated when people try to push heteronormativity on them too much because of Kurapika's appearance. People acting like it's just a regular ol het ship or putting Kurapika in effeminate roles his personality doesn't fit at all are confusing to me.

I hope that's helpful! I'm sure I have plenty more pet peeves saved up from all the years I've spent in the fandom, but those are the major fandom trends I don't care for.

Gosh, I'm so sorry, I hate to be annoying and nit-picky and coming out as a Twihard, but Edward actually does not mature or change over the years as a vampire. Canonically, Twilight vampire are incapable of maturing or developing in any sort of way past the point they were turned. Nothing about them can change or grow or develop. They stay frozen physically and at the mental age that they were when they were changed. They're meant to be "frozen" in almost every sense of the word. That's why Twilight vampire children are illegal, cuz they will never "grow" or gain the maturity necessary to keep vampirism a secret and to not be a menace, lol. So, in canon, Edward is still 17 not only physically, but emotionally and mentally too - a 17 year old from the 1900s, but a 17 year old nonetheless.

But all that aside, maybe it's just me, but personally I do not care about these types of age gaps in immortal ships. The dynamics are often all about power imbalances and exploring that, it's sort of the whole point. It's what makes them interesting. Bloom may not be 16 when she meets Valtor, but he still holds a considerable amount of power over her (both magic-wise and experience wise), and that's the whole point. The push and pull of that, and how that could push Bloom to grow. And how interestingly you can explore that dynamic for both characters. That, to me, is what matters the most in ships involving immortal beings.

And the same even applies to Edward and Bella. Edward may still be a 17 year old mentally and emotionally speaking, but he's also like... not human. And he's a murderer! Try as he, and the rest of the Cullens, might to cling to their humanity, they're not human and that informs every single thing about them. And Twilight vampires are like ridiculously strong and powerful, so Edward brings all of that into his dynamic with Bella (plus the fact that he really wants to kill her and is trying hard not to). And that's the whole point, that's what's interesting and compelling. So shying away from those messed-up elements is just pointless to me. Like the age gap at the point is the least messed up thing in those dynamics lmao. And all those things are features of the monster/villain boyfriend trope, not bugs.

I am so sorry, this has been rotting in the back of my askbox for so long and I have no idea what the context for this ask was, but u go buddy! Give us that twilight trivia! Give us the deep age lore! Give us the controversy!

I love your OC “Raven”, she’s so cute and adorable. I just saw your post about what she would dream of during Malleus’ overblot and thought that it would be difficult for the guys to try to wake her up as Malleus tells her sweet dreams and seems genuinely happy that she can become the main character in this dream reality. So when the guys try to tell her that it’s all fake and she is still a storyteller, Malleus would get really angry (probably more angry about that then, when the rest of them are getting out of the dream) as in the post about the masquerade event, it was like Malleus and Raven were siblings, so Malleus would most likely put some barrier to keep them out of her dream or something.

It’s been quite interesting to hear about how others perceive certain relationships and dynamics that Miss Raven has with her peers. I think this is actually the first time someone else has told me there’s a sibling-like bond between her and Malleus 😂 (I would like to mention that I had a running joke that Sebek mistook them as distant relatives, but didn’t think that I’ve ever written Malleus and Raven with the intention of being sibling-like.)

(I’m going to talk about this for a while, so see the rest below the cut ^^)

They mainly see each other sporadically and in a “professional” capacity because Raven serves as the middle man between the other dorm leaders + the headmaster and Malleus (since they often miss each other). Again, she’s the Diablo to Malleus’s Maleficent— With the events of Glorious Masquerade, it feels like they’ve come to understand one another a little more. They’ve both people who want to fiercely defend their own ideals, even if it comes at the cost of putting themselves on the front lines. Malleus leaves the masquerade with newfound respect for the audacity (or is it stupidity?) of Raven to stand against him, which I guess is where a vague sense of “fondness” comes from in spite of how cordial their interactions usually are.

When you say they feel like siblings, I’m assuming it’s Malleus = big brother and Raven = little sister? 🤔 I wonder if he’s ever canonically wanted to be a big brother… That would, uh… require his parents to still be alive and present. I’d imagine it’s lonely in his castle whenever Lilia’s busy, so maybe Malleus has thought about having a sibling that looks up to him and is by his side. In Raven’s case, she has wished for siblings to keep her company before—whether older or younger, she’s not picky. Some days she wants to be the one taking care of others, and other days she wants to be the one being taken care of. I think both Malleus and Raven could be either; they both have their moments of maturity and immaturity that the other bounces off of like they’re a trained comedy duo. I mentioned here that maybe she’ll go to Briar Valley for her 4th year internship and develop stronger bonds with the Diasomnia characters (and mainly Malleus) through her work. I think maybe Lilia recognized those similarities and that’s why he’s so excited to that Malleus has found a potential friend of his own accord.

It’s usually Raven being the “Fairy Godmother” to others by writing the stories that others wish to see themselves in—but now Malleus has usurped the role for himself, and he’s her Fairy Godmother. I think Malleus likes to be the one making others happy (as some sort of coping mechanism for his own inadequacies). Book 7 is obviously one huge example, but another is Endless Halloween Night. His whole motivation for what he did was that ghosts that arrived late for the holiday wouldn’t feel like they had missed out. He also has a strong sense of duty and protectiveness to his people, stating that he was told that the Draconias are powerful so they can protect the smiles of their people. Malleus is… very socially awkward around his peers (to say the least), but his desire to make others happy even if the logic is sometimes twisted is genuine.

When I think about it, I feel as though this kind of sentiment would extend to how Malleus views Raven. Her entire existence is also one of loneliness and wishing to belong, but constantly gaslighting herself into thinking that she can’t be “a main character” like everyone else, that she’s just a footnote or a supporting character in the story. She’s an outcast, just like he is, even if for different reasons. Again, Maleficent and Diablo energy— That would probably make Malleus sympathize with her and want to ensure she has her “happy ending”.

As Raven spirals deeper and deeper into her dream, he looks on with pride. This is his work. He’s done go much good, Malleus tells himself. Just look at her big dumb grin. Then—suddenly—BAM!! The doors to the ball venue are kicked in, and the orchestral music screeches to a halt. In storm Yuu and Grim, flanked on either side by Silver and Sebek, their boots on the door they just took down. “We’ve come to rescue the princess.”

“She’s in need of no such thing. It is you who are the monsters come to steal her away and lock her in a tower,” Malleus would probably say. She’s in a confused daze, wondering why suddenly her classmates are acting “out of character” in her dream world. There’s supposed to be a musical number going on right now, not a fight about to break out on the dance floor.

“Raven, please listen to us. This—” Silver gestures to the glittering lights and decorations. All smoke and mirrors. “—none of it is real. You’re still Night Raven College’s storyteller. Our storyteller. Please… open your eyes! Wake up!!”

“Do not listen to a word he says. He is an uninvited guest come to crash the celebration.” A mist seems to fall over her eyes. Once so bright and filled with curiosity, now clouded over and dull. She quietly seeps back into the waiting arms of some fabricated mystery man promising to whisk her away.

“ROUSE YOURSELF AT ONCE, BIRD!! We didn’t come all this way to be turned away at the door!!” Sebek shouts, snapping her lucidity back for a second with the sheer magnitude of his volume. “HOW WEAK OF HEART YOU MUST BE TO SUCCUMB TO THESE LIES! I THOUGHT YOU STRONGER THAN THAT!”

“Sebek.” Malleus’s lip curls, his tone patient but dangerous. “So even you have turned traitor. What a plot twist for the pages.”

Sebek balks at his liege’s words—he’s having difficulties speaking his true feelings in front of the man he has revered his entire life. Guilt and shame fill him. That’s when Yuu steps up, Grim nestled in their arms.

“Miss Raven, let’s go home together,” Yuu suggests. “Everyone’s waiting for us. There’s so many stories left to tell.”

“Everyone… waiting? Stories to tell…” She blinks a few times—

“ENOUGH!!” Malleus’s voice thunders, loud enough to rattle the entire ballroom. “I will not allow one more second of this drivel. The young Crowley has dreamed her entire life of this very moment—yet you would rob her of it? I will put an end to this myself…! This story is mine to pen—for the sake of every single happy ending!!”

I'm a multishipper, so when it comes to shipping for me, I don't really take canon dynamics into account anyway. So long as I like both characters, and I think they can work in the context of the story(canon or otherwise), I'm not too picky about ships!

Smiling Critters AU: Favorite Sweets

NOTE: THIS IS NOT RELATED TO CANON IN THE SLIGHTEST. An accurate description of this au is that I took every playtime.co poster art and promotional material from the game and lit up the rest of canon in a bonfire. Meaning that EVERY character is part of one big cartoon. Thats it. No bigger bodies project, no child souls, no experiments, just a depiction of a cartoon. PLEASE do not ask me to do anything suggestive with anyone.

Look, guys, I'm doing fluff (For now) I want to characterize my critters a little more, so here are what I think their favorite sweets would be:

Dogday: Vanilla Pancakes (With cream)

Dogday is absolutely the one to like one meal and then incorporate it into like 90% of what he eats. And he really likes breakfast, so i think his favorite sweet would probably just be a slightly fancier version of his favorite breakfast, buttermilk pancakes. He also is normally a big fan of vanilla. So add vanilla extract into the mix and boom favorite sweet.

Catnap: Brownies (Fluffy, with Light Cream)

Well, Sun and Moon dynamic, so obviously, Catnap prefers chocolate. I was thinking that because he probably prefers to save food since he has no income (au specific), so he would favor something that's made in batches, so, brownies! It's very fluffy, though. He probably hates the feeling of fudgy things.

CraftyCorn: Cake!

Now Crafty doesn't actually have a favorite sweet. She's not picky about sweets. She does like decorating, though, so she ends up getting cake more often than not. Whenever she does get a cake, if it has a design, she'll spend a few minutes looking and analyzing how the designs are made (she's so me fr fr) hope to be able to design things like that one day. (Not now cuz her parents are assholes)

Bobby: Cupcakes

I think Bobby makes these on the regular, whether for her class, her father, or her siblings. Cupcakes are her go-to, so it eventually just became her fav. Don't get her started on gourmet cupcakes. She only ever got to try them once, and all her recipes are attempting to recreate them. (with Picky's help) They don't get far because they don't have the right ingredients, but they're really good, so

Bubba: Ice Cream

Bubba will say he doesn't have a favorite sweet but he will defend ice cream like it's his mother, so we all know it's that. He's Begrudgingly picky about it as well, so that's why...

Kickin: ....

OK so it's not ACTUALLY this..... sort of. He likes normal ice cream nearly as much as Bubba, but specifically to piss him off, they'll go to a parlor and order whatever makes Bubba look like he's going to spontaneously explode. He also thinks it's pretty cool to be the only one ordering these options, and cherishes the employee's (player, in this situation) look of shock and disgust. He usually ends up mirroring that expression once he actually eats it, but it's all worth it.

Hoppy: Smoothies!

It's a win win situation for her. Smoothies are extremely versatile, and can be used for healthy purposes to keep in shape, but she also likes sweet Smoothies as well, so 😋

Picky: C A N D Y .

Guilty pleasure, for sure. Fruity, sweet, chocolatey, she's certainly not picky about candy.

Alhaitham ships I like and respect

I realise I typically only post about Kavetham but I actually love a lot of Alhaitham ships (my mans deserves all the love). Here's a list and my reasons for shipping them, because I just got home from uni and I'm bored. These are all ships that I like, the rating is just "how would this realistically go?".

1) Kaveh/Alhaitham

Getting this one out of the way cos <3 we know. I really enjoy their bickering dynamic and they both have very strong personalities, which I adore. That's why I feel the need to be more picky with the fics I read, actually, cos sometimes people write one of them very uncharacteristically just so they don't have to deal with writing two characters with uh *checks notes* personalities lol.

They are both babygirl and they are both Problems. I think their relationship would be undefined but exclusive - neither of them say they're dating, but they've also never sleep around with other people. I kinda like the hc that Kaveh got around a bit more before they met/started their situationship, but I also vibe with the idea that he lied and told Alhaitham he was "oh so experienced" just to one up him.

Rating: 9/10

2) Cyno/Alhaitham

Hehe this one's an oldie but a goodie. So here's the thing: back in 3.1, this was The Sumeru ship. Cynari was also there , definitely, but there was a loud fandom quite obsessed with the enemies to lovers trope. Which! Some people call Kavetham enemies to lovers, wrong, they never had a fistfight; they're just rivals and lovers.

Anyway, Cyno and Alhaitham are a great ship cos we have battle boyfriends with an eventual soft dynamic. I especially love in Act 5 of the archon quest, when they continue to disagree but they're on the same side - Cyno is very against Alhaitham's reckless plan. They have a lot of contrast in their approaches to life, but at this point they have mutual respect for one another that I think could develop beautifully.

The only issue i have with their dynamic is that I struggle to imagine how they would end up together. Maybe after a fight, one of them almost dies and so there's a dramatic kiss?? I don't think Alhaitham would be so romantic tbh, and Cyno is more likely to be very straightforward with a confession, but I think he might not be honest about his feelings in order to focus on Justice™.

Rating: 7/10

3) Dehya/Alhaitham

Yes. I also occasionally like f/m ships. My issue with this one is simply that I ship Dehya with Dunyazarad more, so I think this would be a more one sided crush on Alhaitham's part. I have a hc that he's just, into claymore users. Dehya serves cunt and beats people up and Alhaitham is like "pls come back to the Akademiya, you're so so cool <3".

Maybe I have a crush on Dehya. Maybe that's the issue hm.

I can't see Dehya dating him or Alhaitham really wanting to date her - just a little crush and then a good friendship.

Rating: 10/10 for vibes, 3/10 for practicality

4) Nilou/Alhaitham

Consider: Nilou is cute. Alhaitham is cute. She thinks he's a cool treason-man and he thinks she's the only person as crazy as he is for immediately agreeing to the dangerous plan everyone else took 80% of the run time complaining about.

Would they actually ever date? I think they'd hold hands once, but then figure out very quickly that they have almost nothing in common. Alhaitham would want a more headstrong person to counter his bluntness, and Nilou would find his introversion frustrating in a dating context.

5) Tighnari/Alhaitham

I sort of see this dynamic as the healthiest version of opposites attract on this list. Now, they're both stubborn bastards, however - where I think Alhaitham and Kaveh lose all braincells upon being in the same room, I think Tighnari and Alhaitham maintain their intelligence.

I like the idea that post archon quest they shared an infirmary room in the Birmastan (Alhaitham via head trauma, Tighnari for his untreated lightning strike lol). They both quickly get fed up with their friends' overprotectiveness and kick the likes of Cyno and Kaveh out. They are both Akademiya graduates who've kind of denounced the Akademiya, Tighnari by quitting to become a forest ranger and Alhaitham by phoning in his entire career :')).

So they get to talking since they only really knew each other through Kaveh previously, and then they vibe doing their own thing when they get bored of conversation. I think they'd understand each other pretty well, and Alhaitham would brush off Tighnari's nagging and Tighnari find Alhaitham's abrasiveness endearing, since he's not an idiot.

Rating: 7/10

However, the context I most like them in is -

6) Kaveh/Alhaitham/Cyno/Tighari

I am an 4ggravate girlie. I love a good poly ship and these guys work very well.

Basically just a combination of everything I've already said:

Alhaitham & Kaveh and Cyno & Tighnari are both in situationships. These are open relationships.

Alhaitham and Cyno (who didn't previously know each other well) start seeing one another in a new light when they're stuck in the desert together for a month fighting against the sages. Feelings ensue.

After the drama, Kaveh realises he wants to make the situation with Alhaitham more concrete because he was worried. He also hangs out with Cyno a lot after Alhaitham and Tighnari kick them out of the infirmary.

So many high stakes and the close companionship makes it so they're all sort of on board with trying a poly sitch. Tighnari seems the type to bring it up first, to Cyno and then to Alhaitham and Kaveh.

Cyno likes the idea but worries a bit that Kaveh and Alhaitham's dynamic would get in the way of an actually healthy relationship.

Alhaitham is a bit iffy cos like - free time, introversion etc, but he does think it would be a good idea to test it out.

Kaveh is pretty totally on board cos all his friends are super hot, though he says "I should have tried using a foursome to force Alhaitham out of his shell ages ago" which actually delays the process quite a lot :'))

Rating: 10/10, Alhaitham gets three boyfriends I cannot see any issues

I think Tumblr needs to know about my dumbass Poppy Playtime AU I literally JUST made today so uhm... Here's the AU I've been hyperfixating on-

This is the first half of the Smiling Critters references (I loved making their designs omg)

Basically to summarize why they are a significant part in this AU:

This is an AU where the Smiling Critters survive, using anything and everything they can to continue to do so. It's a small resistance group (hence the AU name, "RESISTANCE") trying to fight against The Prototype! They still have their dynamics and everything else but they have more freedom to express themselves (hence, the clothes and accessories. And how Kickin' Chicken is wearing two bandana's because yes, he is extra.) AFTER the events of The Hour of Joy. By that time they were like what? 1st-2nd graders considering the experiments that were done? Now they are more like teenagers in this AU since I still follow the plot-line of the actual Poppy Playtime story taking place 10 years later-.

As for how the group works, everybody has their own little role and is in charge of something, they aren't made useless as it is a group based off of teamwork and friendship (despite the casualties.) Here's some of the roles they fall into:

(IF I SEE ANYBODY SEXUALIZE THESE CHARACTERS ISTG. THATS ICKY AND GROSS and I will make sure you get smited by lightning, because even if these guys are aged up THEY ARE STILL MINORS!!!)

Kickin Chicken: The vice president if you will, the leaders right hand man. (Because Dogday is the leader.) He's kind of full of himself but the confidence and pep talks help the team keep motivated, even if he is a bit self-centered

Bobby Bearhug: Assistant to Kickin Chicken (although they have a rivalry.) and also the medic. Is also the one who helps Dogday with anything considering in this AU he still has half of him torn off. (More on Dogday in his own section sometime later)

Hoppy Hopscotch: Basically explores the facility in any area at any time to gather new information on ways to try and get out (all of them are actively looking to escape btw!)

Craftycorn: Maps out stuff (maps, plans, other things) using her drawing abilities, although she also acts as the therapist friend because her art is soothing to others.

Bubba Bubbaphant: THE LITERAL. EMBODIMENT. OF. THE NERD EMOJI. He is a actual know-it-all which can come in handy but that makes him seem like a dick sometimes because of his knowledge.

Picky Piggy: I don't really have anything important to add to her, since I want to keep some of her lore a secret [might be revealed through the ask page I just set up for the AU on my page] HOWEVER she is the chef of the group and is literally the only one that can cook, if anybody else tried they'd all get food poisoning LMAO.

Here's some extra things in this AU that won't go in my other posts about this AU (maybe):

- Catnap is redeemed, but it takes a VERY long time for him to get out of "old habits" as I'm going to word it. (Without spoiling too much of what I have planned.)

- I don't know what to plan for The Prototype yet but I'm talking with a couple of my mutuals on discord so maybe I'll figure it out eventually

- Dogday can normally stand and do other things because of the belts he has, however he can't put them on for too long (for like at max, more than 4 hours a day.) because they will wear into the plush, and he needs to put the belts on tight or they will come loose. He only uses such method when the group goes to hunt for food or similar activities, otherwise, he just uses a wheelchair when in the groups safe environment (the Playhouse!)

- This is going to be a shock to some people, but there is NO player character in this AU, not only is this a what if the Smiling Critters survived, but it's also a what if the player character never returned to Playtime Co.! This does come with some issues, like on how the asks are going to work, but trust me, I got everything taken care of when it comes to that!

- There also isn't really any shipping in this AU at all, I'm focusing on the story/friendship dynamics more than that, so if somehow you were looking for Dogday X Catnap this is, unfortunately not the place for that.

- This AU also has the personal interpretation of Dogday being part of the experiments some of the orphanage kids faced, as I don't really vibe with the idea that Dogday might be a Playtime Co. worker??? I don't know, I'm sticking with my idea for now but I will be keeping a close eye on canon if anything confirms or denies it, and I may adjust the AU accordingly if that's the case.

- Future posts may or may not contain other Poppy Playtime characters but the main focus is the Smiling Critters and The Prototype.

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

For Mista, the Trish cleavage scene. You know the one. I don't think I have to explain this much. Boy Why Did You Do That. The only good thing to come out of that scene was jaunty jigglesacks + overeager horndog insane psychic damage combo of lines in the dub.

I could take this a lot of ways for Fugo tbh. Because there's a lot of things that drive me insane about him as a person, but looking at him as a character, I LOVE that he's rash and hurts his friends and his defining character moment is him making a selfish, cowardly decision. I guess I'd say his misogyny in Purple Haze Feedback? I'm admittedly a believer that, yes, he would fucking say that, but it sucks that he would. At least he gets better by the end lol. Fugo voice I'm sorry women Sheila E is me

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

I love that Mista has been designated Beautiful Brown-Eyed Bisexual Man by literally the entire fandom. Bi Mista brings us all together. And I do like the idea that his queerness is something he discovered much more slowly, and as a direct result of the gang. Something about that really ties in with the idea of the Bucci Gang as less of a realistic gang, more akin to a drag house or similar queer pseudo-family. Credit to that concept to Fox figcookie01 btw this is one of my favorite Vento Aureo analyses ever and it really informs how I conceptualize the Bucci Gang. Anyhow.

I also really like when people actually take care to explore his character and make him a very distinct, smarter-than-he-looks, older brother-type figure. It's really interesting when people explore his spirituality, too, whatever religion that may be, because that's a pretty important part of him. AND also OCD Mista truthers who know when to treat his superstitions and compulsions with some weight I love you forever. I think he's a character that gets watered down in fanworks a lot, but when his characterization's good, it's really good. There's plenty of artists and writers that have really blown me away with their Mista (and I say this as someone who's picky about characterization lol)

With Fugo, first of all. The PHF scars. Another thing that Mandela Effected the PHF fandom, but it's so so important to me. I love you physical, tangible, blatantly visible proof that Fugo has grown as a person since the day he abandoned the gang. Awesome. I also like that people mix and match his manga/anime colors, and every artist kinda draws him in a different way.

My favorite thing is probably the Fugo-Abbacchio stepkid and stepparent/siblings/Big Goth and Baby Emo Who Secretly Looks Up To Them dynamic. It’s awesome when it’s cartoonishly antagonistic and it’s awesome when it’s actually very sweet and heartfelt. Out of all the Bucci Gang dynamic interpretations the fandom’s produced, theirs is one of my favorites <3

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

SO MANY FOR BOTH OF THEM LOL. But I’ll try to list some I don’t talk about as much.

Besides The Carpenters, Mista’s a big fan of folk, acoustic singer-songwriter pop, and soft classic R&B/gospel. Artists with really strong voices tend to catch his attention. The Mamas and the Papas, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Simon and Garfunkel, The Seekers, and Gordon Lightfoot are some of his favorites. He’s also just a big sucker for love songs in general, and the hopeless romantic in him loves old girl groups like The Ronettes and The Shirelles. He’s also very much Schrödinger’s Guy to me. Cis? Trans? Who knows. Depends on what the situation calls for (though more often trans to me as of late). He’s just Some Dude.

Fugo’s a surprisingly good singer, but he’ll rarely do it if he knows other people are listening. A lot of times, he’ll sing in the shower, or when he’s alone in the car. As he gets older, he gets less self-conscious about it, and he’ll sing around the house when he’s with Giorno, or do duets with Mista for fun. There are also very much timelines in the Vento Aureo Multiverse in my brain where Fugo’s transfem. This also tends to coincide with transfem Abbacchio timelines, so there’s another layer added to Fugo looking up to Abbacchio, and I think Giorno (always transmasc to me) is really instrumental in helping her work through things and take pride in her transness. Maybe a little bit of a self-indulgent fluffy comfort hc that helps me work though my own genderisms lol
