I'm excited for 7x06 not only for the possibility of Bucktommy kiss and Buddie karaoke scenes, but I'm excited because Maddie and Chimney are finally getting married.

We've seen them survive and brave the impossible. We saw them together grow as an individual and as a couple.

Tommy was nowhere to be found when Buck was in the gym though. That was 100% about Eddie. As was the Christopher thing because he didn't want to be replaced in Eddie and Christophers lives by anyone, for any length of time. The only time I really felt him trying to get Tommy's attention was their first scene together. But that was purposeful by the writers. They wanted to have it both ways and needed Buck to want both of their attention but have no idea why.

I've sat here for almost a full day wondering how to respond to this, and honestly, I very nearly deleted it without responding because... I barely go here. I just shifted over to 911 as my main fandom. I was a One Chicago blog a little over a week ago and yeah, one well timed rewatch might put me back on that train.

I just came over here because I watched the show, enjoyed it, and wanted to have fun with other fans. My posts are my opinion and my observations, and are obviously not meant to speak for all of canon or even any faction of the fandom besides myself (and maybe Kit, but our opinions vary sometimes too, and we live together). I just pointed out what I noticed, and the trends that I picked up on, and how I thought they were intending to establish Buck wanting Tommy's attention - which, in my opinion, they did really well.

So, I'm just gonna put a screenshot of the post this is referring to right here:

Here's the thing. If you watch every single episode of the show looking for Buddie moments whenever Buck or Eddie is on screen (and I saw a lot of that after last night's episode to the point that I'm getting exhausted and annoyed), then that's all you're going to see, even if that's not what they're trying to show us.

It's been especially bad since 7x04 and the BuckTommy kiss. Everyone is looking at his canon queerness through a Buddie lens and ignoring everything else around it. They're making his coming out to Maddie about Buddie, and they're making his attraction to Tommy about Buddie, they're making episodes we haven't even seen about Buddie.

In reality, none of that is about Buddie or confirming future Buddie or anything of the sort. He and Maddie mentioned Eddie in that scene because the conversation started when he said he felt like he was lying to Eddie and he didn't like it. Yes, Eddie and Tommy are similar, and I understand joking about Buck having A Type, but that doesn't make his attraction to Tommy any less genuine. And we don't know anything about 7x06 yet, but everyone is talking about Buddie getting drunk and sleeping together, or Tommy seeing them interact - as he's already seen because the three of them have had scenes together and he's canonically spent time with Chris - and immediately stepping back from the relationship because there might be something there.

Buck is going to his sister's wedding with Tommy. Buck told Maddie and Eddie about Tommy. Buck wants to dance at the wedding with Tommy. He wants to try for something with Tommy. Eddie encouraged him to go call Tommy and work things out. Buck is going to be out to everyone at the Madney wedding because he wants to be there with Tommy as his date.

I don't know. It's just frustrating to see this really good queer relationship tossed to the side because it's not the Popular Ship. Just because you don't ship it or you aren't looking at it directly, it doesn't mean it's not still there.

Don't grieve in front of me, Dean. It makes me uncomfortable, part II...or prequel?

How'd I get here again?

Oh, yeah. I got here, because I got excited about the cars. I remembered Dean driving a brownish tan/brown car in THE SCENE from Slash Fiction? Pinto, I wondered. FORD?

Alas. It's a Pontiac Acadian. I was so hopeful. It's a VERY similar style though. But it definitely calls to mind the car when Cas n' Dean presided over Mary's loss of John in 4x03. It looks like the car on the beach in 13x01, when Dean is grieving Cas. And this...is 7x06, when Dean is ALSO grieving Cas.

It's also VERY interesting how the break light's out on the driver's side. That's because Dean is out of commission. In SPN, often the headlights or the break lights show which brother is "down for the count." At the end of season 1, ep 1, it's Sam who's down-and-out, because he lost Jess.

Here, it's Dean. He "appears" on, but the break light shows us the truth.

We cut from the "out break light" to...THE winged Pony, hanged. The pony is the light. It's yellow. It's the sunshine. Because the light is out.

It's winged. It's in the rearview. it's noosed around the neck, like how Cas said that freewill is something you hang yourself with. He cuts it off and throw it into the backseat, desperate to forget. Cause it's Caaa---

Anyway. You could argue Dean is lamenting the life he'd left behind, but the Lisa-Ben dynamic was Dean's Ford Truck phase, and this winged thing is-- it's just-- it's just 100% pointing to Cas. If you don't think so, the next bit is damning.

Sam turns on the radio to make Dean feel better. A sad song comes on, and Dean drops the act for a MILLISECOND. And Sam? He says SORRY.

Then, he gets uncomfortable.

It's the earlier match to the peanut-butter-and-jelly-strong-choice scene from season 13x06 (widow era).

Sam is afraid of this kind of grief. (And for good reason. Thanks, John!)

"What would you say if I called on you now..." is the first line. Come when you call, etc etc etc. And Dean looks just about ready to burst into tears. No, watch the scene. He looks devastated when he hears it and realizes what it is, like a little intake of breath.

Dean grieves Cas...with music.

Ah, the familiar pattern. Dean is struggling to be allowed to grieve in this season. Everyone's terrified of his grief, even Bobby, who demands he "not be a person" and "keep doing the job" in a desperate plea to keep Dean from "dying before he does." Bobby doesn't know what to say or how to grieve, so he tries to keep Dean alive the only way he can think of, with utilitarian pragmatism.

But Dean needs to feel his emotions. Even though the scene above is played for laughs, it's really about Dean's emotions leaking out despite his attempts to hide it.

Ahem. Not writing Dean-Cas till "later seasons," my ass. Dean wore his heart on his sleeve whenever he was "allowed" to. My gosh!

EXT. ROAD – NIGHT A small, old hatchback is driving down the road. INT. HATCHBACK – NIGHT A yellow My Little Pony is dangling from the rear-vision mirror. DEAN squeezes it and it squeaks. He takes out a knife, cuts it down and tosses it into the back seat. It squeaks again as it lands.

SAM: You okay? DEAN: You know, it's bad enough that they're ganking people, wearing our mugs, but now this? Have us driving around in this... this caboodle while Baby's on lockdown. SAM: It's temporary, Dean. DEAN: Nobody puts Baby in a corner. SAM: Y-you know that's a line from -- DEAN: Swayze movie. Swayze always gets a pass! SAM: Right. Uh, well, you want some tunes or something? Here. SAM turns on the car radio. MUSIC: Air Supply’s “All Out Of Love” ♪ And what would you say if I called on you now and said that I can't hold on ♪ SAM looks at DEAN. SAM: Sorry, man, I-I... DEAN: Just leave it. Probably gonna be the only thing on. ♪ There's no easy way, it gets harder each day ♪ Please love me or I'll be gone ♪ I'll be gone ♪ SAM looks at the map FRANK gave him and DEAN starts to lip-sync along to the music. ♪ I'm all out of love ♪ I'm so lost without you ♪ SAM looks over at DEAN. ♪ I know you were right ♪ believing for so long ♪ I'm all out of love ♪ DEAN notices that SAM is watching him and stops singing. ♪ What am I without you? ♪ DEAN looks away out the driver’s side window. ♪ I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong ♪ Oh ♪ DEAN starts to lip-sync again. ♪ What are... ♪ SAM looks at him and he stops again. ♪...you thinking of? ♪ DEAN moves his head in time with the music. ♪ What are you -- ♪ SAM: Here. Someday I'll do a thing about all the car-hopping they have to do until, you know, Dean is "Dean" again.

Dean, going through the motions, "acting like one of the dead ones." And...the Impala makes a return once Dean accepts that Cas can't help, and then Cas says he's gonna go with to try and mitigate the wreckage he left.

Cas agreed to try and "fix" things, just as Dean accepted their brokenness. (No ones cares if you're broken so long as you try.)

And the we see Baby again for the first time. Hmmmm.

Hi! I'm nearly 30k into a post 7x05 fic 😅 I will hopefully be posting before 7x06 airs. Let's just say the muses are working in OVERDRIVE at the moment - I haven't written this much in years! (I am loving it)

I'm 100% convinced Buddie is happening. Not sure when - I'm mostly hoping for a feelings realisation in 7b, for one of them? And I would love if they explored Eddie's sexuality in Season 8. Please, please, please writers, if you're reading this, please.

911 7x06 Episode cuts

I’m so sad they seem to have cut a bunch of the bachelor party stuff from the episode. Like the logical part of me 100% gets it like yeah it’s maddie and chims wedding we want that to be the focus, and I’m so excited for that so it makes sense to cut the less plot relevant scenes but at the same time why did they promote the hell out of the karaoke and bachelor party scenes if it’s just gonna be cut that’s what irritates me more like I know why it’s being cut but why promote the shit outta it if it’s gonna get taken out.

I really am hoping they still include like a cut down version or a montage of all the drunkenness etc because I feel like it’d be a loss if not. And I mean there might be a chance we get the karaoke scene released as a clip at some point so at least there that.

Urgh I do have to say i know I’m gonna be so mad if I have to listen the buckley parents yap on for extended periods of time when we could have had buddie karaoke like im so sure the actors are lovely but I will slam my head into a wall if that’s the trade off.

Also I’m not too worried about stuff for madney getting cut unlike other ships because it’s their episode but I really am hoping for like a more light hearted sweet scene with them where they just get be happy because I love them so much and I’m worried the episode is going to be really sad and dramatic which I love but like I want happiness to they deserve it I just hope that isn’t sacrificed for drama

Anyway when it come to the buddie stuff since that’s what’s realistically probably been cut I’m choosing to listen to the extremely delusional part of my brain that is deciding it because the whole bachelor party Ryan and Oliver had way to much chemistry and way to much fun that it came across to buddie like and actually messes up a potential slow burn and the fact that both buck and Eddie are in relationships so they just had to cut it

Also final thing I swear to fuck if we also get a buck and Tommy kiss or slow dancing cut out as well I will cry they deserve a slow dance.

Ahh why couldn’t this season be longer and this be a 2 parter.

I have mixed feelings about everything right now, I do 100% think Tommy is sticking around beyond 7x06 and they will be together for a while especially since both Lou and Oliver have hinted at certain things like sauciness and kisses, but there have also been hints from both of them that it’s also not forever.

As for Buddie/Eddie, I really want to believe it’s gonna all happen but I’m not so sure I mean Oliver said it could be potential story but I think that’s from his POV, like he said he’s not the writer and Tim will do whatever he wants if he sees visions but also it doesn’t seem like Eddie is having a coming out story anytime soon as Oliver said he doesn’t know what they are doing with Eddie’s character, I don’t think they wanna do two coming out stories so close together especially when they are two halves of the same ship, I personally think it was a one or the other situation which is partly why Eddie and Buck were switched with Tommy (hope I’m wrong) but Oliver said that they don’t want to rush it or play into stereotypes if they do go there with them, i had to disagree with him slightly on that bit though, not what he said because as a whole he was correct but if Eddie has mutual feelings or ‘discovers’ his feelings for Buck first then it’s not going to play into the ‘male friend asking about a crush on him after coming out’ sort of thing.

Favorite moments: The wedding, Jee-Yun at the Wedding, the previous party, when they are searching Chimney...I would Only change that but in general series would be Maddie and Buck not having parents,I despide them. The chapter was perfect to me.

And yeah, Josh rocks!!!

More ‘9-1-1 opinions I think the MyS cast would have’

Early Mys KC is a Buddie shipper 100%. A full on BoB. Hyperanalyses every scene they’re in (though that’s not always a requirement) to argue why they are the only good ship and any other ship sucks. She would’ve been a ‘Buck and Eddie should cheat on their partners with eachother’ so hard.

But I think Later MyS KC is a Madney lover. Bc I am. Physically boxes anyone who makes 7x06 a Kinley vs Buddie episode. It’s about Madney and she doesn’t even care what you have to say about it other than that. She wants to kiss Chimney so hard. He’s the perfect man.

She has whole theory boards on why she thinks he’s called Chimney, she hates the buckley’s, and she has written multiple self-indulgent fics for 9-1-1, mostly Chimney x Herself

For what it's worth, given that we're talking about September 2023 - I'll gladly join you in a stacked rewatch for The 100. I've tried to rewatch in order and it's just impossible for me now, but I think the air date method is a really novel way to mix it up. Count me in! (In ten months, lol.)

I often find myself missing the ~energy of this fandom (read: exclusively that of my mutuals in my little dash <3), so if any of you joined me I'd love it! I do want to rewatch the show eventually, but like you, thinking of a regular rewatch... eh. But this way is a lot of fun and can lead to really interesting findings IMO.

(in particular, I think a rewatch of this show, knowing all I know in hindsight, it's going to make Clarke a more enjoyable protagonist for me LMAO)

This ep couldn't have been any louder about who Buck is really in love with and that Tommy is like Eddie and that Buddie will be endgame

But I have been thinking that they might have the most chaotic bachelor party and that causes chaos

I read this post though and it was posted before last ep but something like that would be so funny.... Or maybe reverse it and Eddie is awkward and doesn't know why

Also before watching Buck and Tommy kiss (eeeeekkk) I had the thought... Wouldn't it be funny if they played stupid games during the bachelor party and Eddie and Buck had to kiss

And that would work with the other idea... Buck, now dating Tommy, just kissing his best pal (cause baby is still a lil confused there) and Eddie has his "Oh fuck it's Buck" moment

But honestly, realistically I think it's either because Eddie will be awkward around Buck cause he doesn't understand why Buck dating Tommy makes him feel so weird

or

The bachelor party shenanigans were hangover style and they got dressed and all but more chaos happens and they end up looking like this
