Not Your Friend - Tsukishima Kei

Summary: Tsukki invites you over for Thanksgiving dinner after a day at the Labor Thanksgiving festival. But things start to fall apart when he introduces you to his family as his friend instead of his girlfriend.

 Even though you had been dating Tsukishima Kei for a little over six months now, you were still surprised when he invited you to a Thanksgiving Day dinner celebration with his family and closest friend Yamaguchi Tadashi. He had mentioned the festival that would take place earlier in the day and that after the two of you explored a bit, you’d go back to his home and have dinner with his mother, older brother, and best friend.

 It was a little odd because Tsukishima had disagreed on group dates or meeting your own family multiple times. He always found excuses to not do it. He would only say that he liked to keep his love life private, and asked that you would respect that. And so far you had. You didn’t talk about what went on between the two of you with anyone outside of your relationship, even your friends. You would be vague about your dates and if you had a fight then you’d pretend like nothing was going on. He wanted privacy and you wanted to give that to him.

 Despite that, you were really excited to finally meet his family. He had told you a lot about them and you had always wanted to meet them. You didn’t think he would have agreed if you had simply asked, so you never voiced your wishes to him. Luckily it seemed that time made him comfortable enough in your relationship to want to introduce you to the other people in his life finally.

 That morning you put on one of your best outfits, something that was cute but suitable for meeting your boyfriend’s family. Once you were finished getting ready, you went outside to meet Tsukki at his car. He would never go up to the door, no matter how many times you told him it was okay. He smiled softly at you, approving of your attire. “You look cute.” He said before driving you to the festival.

 The day was spent playing games and enjoying each other’s company. A few people recognized him from seeing his games with the Sendai Frogs and told them how they were big fans of him and the team. You knew he didn’t really care for the attention, always making an excuse to pull him away from the intruding person so he could relax by your side again. Tsukishima was always appreciative of how well you seemed to be able to read him. Despite his usual cold demeanor, people just seemed so eager to aggravate him. It was incredibly annoying.

 Luckily, the fans bold enough to interrupt your time together were few and far between today. Tsukki won you a stuffed brontosaurus, making sure you tell you how inaccurate the plush was as you hugged it close to snuggle with it happily, listening to him list why it was improbable for a dinosaur to be neon pink with orange spots. Of course he added how the head wasn’t shaped quite right and the proportions were a tad off. It was enough to make you giggle as he took you back to his car to take you to his family home.

 Anxiety fluttered in your chest as you watched the scenery pass you by in the window. What if they didn’t like you? You wondered to yourself. What if they thought you weren't good enough for him? A million negative scenarios and interactions raced through your mind as you thought of every conceivable way that you could screw this up. If this didn’t go well, then he’d probably never let you see them again. The thought of that hurt more than anything.

 After failed scenario number five hundred and thirty seven, Tsukki pulled up to his family home and parked out front. He opened the door for you and you stepped out, choosing to leave your new beloved (though inaccurate) dino behind. You didn’t want them to think you were childish because you loved stuffed animals.

 As he shut the car door behind you, Yamaguchi arrived with a wide smile. He greeted you enthusiastically, hugging you before giving Tsukishima a look that you couldn’t quite decipher.The three of you headed inside and deposited your shoes at the door as Kei’s mother came to greet you.

 “This is my friend,” Tsukki began before telling her your name. You couldn’t stop your eyes from widening in shock, looking at him with hurt as you tried to reel in the fresh set of tears that threatened to spill from your eyes. Friend? That’s all you were to him? Since when?

 You managed to compose yourself enough to bow to her as she told you it was nice to finally meet you. She then told Yamaguchi that she missed seeing him every weekend like she did when they were in high school together. The two began a friendly conversation as they retreated into the next room.

 Still frozen in place, you tried to grasp hold on your shattering heart. After everything, the ups and downs, the hiding you away, the confessions of love, the sex, he still somehow thinks of you as only…a friend? There was a lump in your throat, making it painful to swallow. Tsukishima didn’t seem to be pressed by the state you were in, he simply walked further into the house to catch up with his mother and friend.

 You took a deep breath to try and regain control of yourself. You attempted to numb the pain in your heart, simply thinking that if he just wanted to be friends then you’d simply treat him as a friend and nothing more. Two could play this game, not matter how much it hurt.

 Tsukki introduced you to his older brother and his significant other. You and Yamaguchi chatted with him while Tsukishima went to help his mother with something in the kitchen. You tried to keep yourself in the moment and to not think too much about the greeting. Though, he repeated himself again when introducing you to Akiteru. Being friendzoned on what you thought was a date was possibly one of the hardest things you’d ever had to do. You wish you could go back in time and decline his invitation to come over in the first place.

 Yamaguchi could read you like an open book. Not that you were incredibly hard to read in the first place, but it was easy to see that something was bothering you. Of course he knew exactly what was on your mind. He took you to the side after you finished chatting with Akiteru. “I’m sorry, I probably should have warned you I had a feeling this would happen.” He said to you in a quiet voice so that no one else could hear him.

 “I just want to go home.” You confessed. Despite how delicious the food smelled, you had no desire to even be near Tsukishima after what he had just done to you. The pain was simply too fresh, the wound too new. “I think I’m going to be sick…”

 He rubbed your back in an attempt to comfort you. “I think this is just his way of testing you.” Yamaguchi said, hoping that it would make you feel better. Alas it only made you feel worse. Why the hell did you need to be tested? Had you not gone through enough together in the past six months? Anger was starting to overwhelm your hurt and Tadashi attempted to backpedal. “I could be wrong though. Sometimes I don’t know what goes on in his head.”

 You dabbed at your eyes with the end of her shirt sleeve to try and keep the tears from falling. “Can you sit between us?” You asked, “I don’t want to be next to him right now.” He nodded, understanding how you were feeling. He wished he could pull Kei aside and ask him himself what was going through that head of his. Why was he doing this to the girl that he said he loved? Sometimes he could be such an enigma.

 Akiteru informed them that dinner was ready and the table was set. Tsukishima as already seated, Yamaguchi stayed true to his word and sat down next to him while you sat next to Yamaguchi. You could feel Kei’s eyes on you, wondering just what you were doing, but you ignored him totally. You told his mother that everything looked and smelled wonderful and she thanked you happily.

 The six of you began to eat, and everything tasted as good as it looked. It was almost worth the heartache that Tsukishima was putting you through, though you had already decided if he was so ashamed of you then you didn’t need to be in a relationship any more. You were hurt, angry, and at this point didn’t know what else to do. If he wanted to break up with you, then he could have found an easier way.

 The dinner was tense to say the least. You did your best to ignore Tsukishima, even though his family kept asking you questions about one another. How you met, did you hang out often, and many other questions that made it obvious that they were trying to see if the two of you were just friends or not. You kept your answers polite, but made it clear that you weren’t in an intimate relationship with Kei, at least not anymore.

 The slipup caused everyone to stare at you with wide eyes, even Kei himself. You not being together anymore was certainly news to him, though he played it off like it was no big deal. He wondered if this was because he didn’t claim you as his significant other right away or if maybe you’d been wanting to break up for some time now. His own mind was clouded with doubts and anxieties as he became even quieter at the table. It was obvious that there was something going on between you two, it was just unclear what exactly that was.

 Once everyone had finished eating, you helped Tsukki’s mother clear up the dishes and put extra food away. “You know, my son has a very interesting way of handling information he doesn’t want his family to know.” She said as she passed you a dish to dry off. “He has always been a very private person, even as a small child. I never quite understood where he got it from.”

 You weren’t sure what her point was, drying off another dish with the towel in your hand. “He never tells us when he has a girlfriend because he’s afraid we’ll bother them.” She said admittedly, “He thinks we’ll pry too much. I think he keeps it a secret more due to his own insecurities than anything else.”

 “Sometimes being kept a secret doesn’t feel very good.” You replied, not knowing what else to say to her. “Being kept in the dark isn’t that great either.”

 “Well, no.” She said back as she finished the last plate and handed it to you. “But he doesn’t have a whole lot of practice with that sort of thing either. I don’t think he reads women very well.”

 You nodded, wanting to believe that his denial of their relationship was simply due to him being an insecure idiot, but it was a little hard to believe. It still felt more like he was ashamed of you. “He’s never actually brought anyone over besides Tadashi before.” His mother said, “I think this was a big step for him.” She left to go tackle another chore as you stayed in the kitchen, nibbling on your lower lip. Did you possibly jump the gun?

 Tsukishima walked into the kitchen and you realized the two of you were alone. He had an apathetic look on his face. “So we’re not together anymore?” He asked, as if the conversation at dinner was unclear.

 Your eyes narrowed and you threw the dishrag at him. “I don’t know, Kei, you tell me.” You hissed before crossing your arms over your chest. “Can you please just take me home?”

 He was frowning, which although wasn’t totally unusual, it was more pronounced than normal. He nodded his head, letting out a soft disappointed sigh before letting everyone know he was going to take you back to your apartment.

 You walked with him to his car, allowing him to open the door for you. You got in, putting the stuffed dinosaur in the backseat. Honestly you didn’t even want to look at it anymore, you had already decided that you’d pretend to forget it there.

 Tsukki got into the driver’s side, buckling his seat belt and starting the car. Already he knew things were worse than he thought. For as long as he’d known you, he’d never seen you abandoned a stuffed toy. You’d always keep it in your lap or in your arms, somewhere close because you wanted it to feel loved (he really didn’t understand this but chose to let it go). He swallowed hard, trying to figure out a way to fix things before they were beyond repair.

 The drive was extremely tense. He caught you sniffling back tears a few times, the need to console you growing more and more despite the fact that now his heart was breaking too. “Listen,” He said, addressing you by your name, “I was going to tell them, but I wanted them to get to know you first without any pressure.” He was inwardly hoping that the truth was enough to heal your hurt, though he wasn’t entirely sure if it was or not. “I knew they’d pry and I thought it would be easier on you if I just said you were a friend.”

 “Kei we’ve been dating six months now and they didn’t even know you were seeing someone?” You asked, though his explanation did help somewhat, it was still unacceptable that you had been kept such a secret. “Why are you so ashamed of me?”

 “I’m not ashamed of you.” He said back, his voice raising a hair at the accusation. “I never said that I was. I just don’t like them butting into my private life, that’s it. It had nothing to do with how I feel about you.”

 You shied away at his loud volume, sinking into the seat like a child that had just been chastised. “That’s what it feels like…” You mumbled back meekly. “That you don’t care enough to tell them about me.”

 He glanced at you before looking back at the road. “How many times have I told you that you mean more to me than anything in the entire world?” He asked, sounding tired. “I’ve never loved anyone as much as I love you.” He always hated saying those words, but sometimes the moment did call for it. Moments such as this. “I just didn’t want my family to pester me about you nonstop. They get carried away and it's overwhelming.”

 You were quiet, unsure what to say. “Why didn’t you just tell me that beforehand so I wouldn’t have gotten hurt?”

 His cheeks turned a light shade of pink, “I was going to tell them right away but I panicked at the last moment. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you, really.”

 You blinked slowly, reaching into the backseat for the dino and hold. The action made Tsukishima let out a sigh of relief. It was at least a sign that he hadn’t ruined everything completely. “So are we still broken up?”

 “No,” You muttered back to him awkwardly. “I’m sorry I made you leave early.”

 He shrugged, “I’d rather just be with you anyway. Akiteru can be such a pain.”

 A small smile broke on your face as you rode the rest of the way in a happy silence.

But then he walks into the room

Jeonghan stops dead in his tracks

“Oh, uh, hello, I’m Jeonghan”

“Nice to meet you!” you smile brightly at him.

And he gets this weird feeling in his chest

“Nice to meet you too”

Anyways, he decides to stick around and hang out with you and DK for awhile

Later he crawls into DK’s bed

“Dokyeom, do you believe in love at first sight?”

“Hyung, why are you acting like this? It’s kind of scary”

After that DK starts inviting you over more often

Kind of just to throw Jeonghan off and see his reaction

Every time Jeonghan tries to be super suave and casual, but he just looks awkward and shy as he goes “Oh, hey [Y/N], I didn’t know you were coming over”

Then one day, DK invites you over

And as soon as Jeonghan comes down to greet you

He goes “Oh, Woozi just texted that he needs my help at the studio, I have to go. Jeonghan, would you mind entertaining [Y/N]? I would hate for them to have come all this way just to turn around and go back home”

Jeonghan is glaring at DK behind your back bc he knows exactly what DK is doing

“Oh, you don’t have to! There’s a bookshop on this side of town that I like anyways, I can just hang out there!”

“I’ll come with you [Y/N], DK’s right, he was incredibly rude to invite you out here and then abandon you”

Now DK is glaring at him lol

But you and Jeonghan end up going to the bookstore together anyways

He’s really quiet at first, shyly hanging back to watch you peruse through book selections 

The light in the bookstore is soft and when it hits you, you sort of glow

Jeonghan wishes he could stare at you looking like that forever

Then you start to notice that he’s quiet

So you grab his hand and pull him closer

“What do you like to read, Hannie?”

“Oh, um...”

He turns away and scratches the back of his head to try and hide his blush

“Oh, is it ok if I call you that?”

“Yeah, I um... I like it”

“Ok... Hannie”

He has to clench his fists to stop himself from squealing

You link your arms and continue on your conversation about reading

When you find a books that piques both of your interests

You sit down in a back corner of the store and read it together

You both actually get incredibly invested

I mean it’s hard not to love the way Jeonghan leans in and stares brightly up at you as you read

Oh and the book is good too

Darkness falls and the bookstore gets ready to close

So you buy it with the promise that you and Jeonghan will finish it someday

“How about Saturday? Over coffee?” he asks with a sudden surge of confidence

“I’d really like that!” you happily agree

So you meet up at this small cafe and work on finishing the book

It’s harder this time, you keep making jokes to each other and getting off track

But you’re both having a great time

“I’m going to go get a refill, do you want anything?”

“No thanks, [Y/N], I’m good right now!”

You get up to go up to the counter 

Jeonghan stares around, looking for something to do until you get back

He picks up the book and starts thumbing through it

He flips through the first pages and realizes you’ve already made notes in it

“Wow, they’re fast” he chuckles to himself.

Then he starts reading your notes

“Jeonghan really liked this line”

“This part made both of us laugh really hard”

“Hannie was surprised by this part”

Jeonghan feels his heart start to pound as he reads your scribbles

“Hey Hannie, can I ask you a question?”

He jumps when you appear back at the table

He quickly sets the book down and then feels weird for acting like he got caught stealing or something

“Yeah- um, yeah [Y/N], you can ask me anything!”

“Is this a date?”

“Would you like for it to be?”

You can feel your face heating up as you nod

“Then this is our first date, [Y/N]”

Once you two are official

Jeonghan gets less shy and nervous

Honestly he prefers to take the lead in your actual relationship

Because he wants to make sure you feel comfortable and cared for

If you thought you were able to make Jeonghan nervous when you were just flirting with each other

He’s able to make you 10x more nervous in the actual relationship

He’s such a flirt

Like you’ll literally just be sitting on the couch

And he’s just staring at you and biting his lip

It’s one of the reasons he teases you so much

He panics when it comes to admitting how much he cares about you and how much you mean to him because going all in is scary and he doesn’t want to mess things up or say anything wrong

So he just replaces it with something surface level and avoids it for as long as possible

Sometimes it’s frustrating

And you try to understand

But it’s also scary to wonder if he feels as deeply for you as you do for him

The straw that breaks the camels back is the night you try to talk deeply to him

And he just kind of shrugs it off

So the two of you don’t really talk to each other for the rest of the night

Later Jeonghan crawls into bed next to you

He pulls you into him and lets you bury your head in his chest

“I know I’m awful at actually saying things and I need to work on it, and I promise I will, but until we get there, just know that through all of it, I love you”

You do get there

It takes him awhile to feel comfortable with deep conversations

But he takes the time to listen to you and work out how to respond with honesty

After being with you he feels like he really blossoms in his connections to his emotions

You inspire him to get more comfortable with being more open and honest and help him understand there’s no reason to be embarrassed about his emotions

You take care of him in a way he didn’t even realize he needed 

The boys notice the positive change as well

“I told you, you two are perfect for each other”

“DK, you only said that because we both prefer hanging out at home to going out”

But not Taka yet! Wasn't expecting this til August but really happy to do it now!

I decided to go with their first celebration as a couple (which was like a month after they got together). Because everyone wants a happy Taka, right?

• Taka doesn't do birthdays.

• Well, he does OTHER people'a birthdays of course. They're important.

• But his own? Nah. No point - too much hassle for everyone.

• His dad has always bought him a gift and tried to take time off to be with him. Which Taka appreciates.

• But after a traumatic sixth birthday party where no one showed up and the only present he got from a school kid was a dead mouse, his parents decided not to make a huge deal anymore because it just hurt too much to see their little boy cry on his birthday.

• Fortunately for Taka, he has friends now. Friends who actually want to see him happy.

• And a new boyfriend who wants to spoil him rotten.

• After a bit of prying before they leave for the summer holidays, Leon figures out that Taka is doing nothing for his birthday.

• The thought makes him sad but the idea he has in his head makes it all better again.

• He enlists the help of Mondo, Chi and Hiro (of all people) - asking them to gather up the other people that Taka considers good friends ready for the 31st August.

• This being Hina, Sakura, Makoto (and therefore Kyoko) and Hifumi.

• He asks his dad to pull some strings at Taka's favourite museum and get them an afternoon there with food and balloons and everything.

• And OF COURSE he goes all out to get a present for him.

• Over the holidays, he and Taka don't see each other in person - having video chats whenever they can.

• That is, until Leon asks what he's doing for his birthday.

• 'Packing to go back to school most likely.'

• 'Great. Then we can meet up in the city for a few hours, yeah?'

• Taka wells up at this. He gets to spend HIS birthday with HIS BOYFRIEND!

• 'Yes of course! Thank you!'

• The plan is set into motion and the day before, Leon makes sure that everyone is still on. Which they are.

• He gets up SUPER early to decorate - hiding his present out of sight before everyone arrives and gets themselves ready to suprise Taka.

• He's super nervous when heading to the train station to meet Taka, suddenly worried that his boyfriend will hate it all.

• But Taka's smile has him melting, all worries disappearing into a warm hug.

• They chatter on the way, hand in hand as Leon pretends they're aimlessly wandering but in fact carefully leading them to the museum.

• And as planned, Tska's eyes light up at the sight.

• 'You wanna go in?'

• 'Can we?'

• 'It's your birthday. We'll do whatever you want.'

• Of course they go in. And it takes Taka far too long to realise how quiet it is (because he's totally distracted staring at Leon).

• 'Wait a minute. It's very quiet. Where is every...'

• 'SURPRISE!'

• Taka yelps in shock, grabbing onto Leon's arm at the sound of cheers and party poppers.

• But at the sight of all his friends smiling at him, the balloons that say HAPPY BIRTHDAY and Leon's soft yet nervous smile, he bursts out crying happy tears.

• The boy can't stop smiling as everyone gathers around him, treating him like the VIP he so totally deserves to be.

• There's silly little games that everyone gets into - pass the parcel, pin the tail on the dino...

• And of course there's cake - rich chocolate baked by Hina and Sakura.

• It's finally time for presents. Taka takes a seat as everyone proudly hands over their gifts.

• The first thing Taka sees is a lot of grey and white. Then as he looks up, there's a splodge of red in the middle.

• It takes a while for him to realise that he's looking at a giant plushie holding a heart - big enough that it's probably as tall as he is when stood up.

• And it takes even longer to realise that it's Totoro - the first film he and Leon watched together.

• 'Happy birthday, beautiful.'

• Peeking around the side is a very anxious Leon, only grinning when Taka smiles wetly and launches himself into a hug that encompasses both him and Totoro.

• 'You like him?'

• 'He's perfect. Just like you.'

• And that's the cue for everyone else to filter out, quickly saying goodbye before leaving the lovebirds to have a tender moment.

• Well. Everyone but Hiro, who Leon roped into giving them a lift back home.

• Poor Hiro has to deal with being a proper third wheel - which he's cool with since he's pretty chill about nearly everything.

• The dude even gets out the car when they stop outside Taka's house to give them some private time - opting to help carry Taka's presents to the door while they makeout in the back seat for a few minutes.

• And oh man, is Takaaki confused when Taka comes into the kitchen with a giant plushie.

• But as he hears about his son's first successful birthday party, organised by his first ever romantic partner, Takaaki's opinion of Leon goes up tenfold.

• (Bonus scene that didn't quite make the cut: Takaaki opens the door to Hiro holding the giant Totoro and gets the COMPLETE wrong idea. Only for Hiro to laugh, say he's just a friend and Taka's making out with Leon in the back of his car.

• 'But hey - don't interrupt them, man. They're REALLY going for it, you know?'

• Inner freakout of the year takes place in Takaaki's mind of his pure, innocent boy becoming a man.)

it’s less of a dance off and more of them dancing together. hendo doesn’t dance because he knows he can’t, and he’s not really in the business of making himself look like a fool. virg always drags him into the middle of the kitchen for a slow dance, even when there’s no music on. jordan goes with it bc he loves him

pillow fort with fairy lights. virg is always cold, so he’s very happy to stay inside where there’s central heating, thank you

hendo. virg always pranks him so he wants to get his own back every time, but he’s awful at it. he’s not creative enough, and virg can read him like a book anyway

hendo is ready to throw down all the time. virg is more chilled, but if someone makes hendo angry, he’s ready to Kill

jordan, because virg is terrified of spiders

virg laughs like a seal, with no sound and added clapping, and hendo practically shrieks when you really get him going. together, they’re a nightmare, bc each other’s laughter makes them both laugh

hendo can’t cook at all. virg isn’t great, really, but he can do basic stuff, and that’s enough to get them by.

neither of them have time for hobbies. they are full time very dedicated footballers and always have press commitments, so when they do have free time, they’d rather spend it wrapped up in each other catching up on whatever netflix series they’re watching

mediocre lie, always. it’s usually something like hendo’s got a cough or virg is tired, and nobody ever believes them but they both value alone time and an early night. no offence to their friends or anything

virg buys them for hendo, because he thinks he’s too uptight. he thinks he needs more joy in his life, and that means dino socks.

What do you think about Hisoka's recent development? Do you think it would be a better choice just to kill him off without adding any depth to him? Would making him morally grey when big part of his character was his insanity work?

Hello anon!Sorry for this super-late reply, but as I explained previously I am having trouble with my laptop.That said, I think that in order to answer your ask I need to break it down.1) As far as Hisoka’s current development goes I shared some thoughts on it in the meta I wrote on him and Gon.https://aspoonofsugar.tumblr.com/post/173828515497/nen-and-characters-gon-and-hisokaI don’t have much to add to the thoughts in this meta. Basically I think Hisoka has started spiralling and because of this he has become even more dangerous for both himself and others.2) As far as if I think Hisoka will be killed off soon my answer is no. A second confrontation between him and Gon has been foreshadowed since early on and in general Hisoka’s character is too intertwined with Gon to meet his end in a way which doesn’t involve the latter at all.Moreover, among the three recurring antagonists Hisoka is without a doubt the most important and the one who was given the most focus.Let’s also consider that his day of birth is the same number of his month and that he shares this pattern with the four MC. In short, even at a very superficial level I think it is obvious that Hisoka is a very important character and he has a unic role in the series (i.e. the one of the Joker) and nobody can replace him.3) Finally when it comes to the last part of your ask I think there is the necessity to differentiate between a gray character and a complex one.A gray character is a character who exhibits gray morality, so a person who either struggles to do the right thing or whose horrible actions are if not justified at least understandable or again a person who might do the wrong thing for the right reasons or the right thing for the wrong ones. This definition might not be perfect, but I think you mean more or less this when you talk about making Hisoka more gray.First of all, I would like to underline that Hisoka has sometimes done the “right” thing for the wrong reasons. As a matter of fact Hisoka has very often temporally played the role of helper of the main characters even if always for selfish reasons.That said, maybe you mean that as for now Hisoka lacks complex reasons for his actions and a background which might explain his behaviour and as a result he doesn’t appear sympathetic to the readers.However, an antagonist doesn’t need to be sympathetic to be complex.Let’s consider some examples.1) Iago in Shakespeare’s Othello is one of my favourite villains ever and he is pitch black. And I mean literally. The whole play uses white and black to represent the characters’ morality and Iago is often associated with black. He doesn’t have complex motivations and actually it seems he doesn’t have motivations at all since he keeps offering different ones every time he is asked. Despite this, Iago remains very complex and this complexity is expressed through the way he manipulates the other characters and through his plots. Let’s also underline that his ossession with hurting Othello is what in the end destroys him as well. This in itself makes him a living paradox and a very compelling character imo.2) Dino Golzine in Banana Fish is a villain I am appreciating very much as well. Once again Dino is a character who is not gray, but he isn’t flat. His relationship with Ash is basically a negative foil of Ash’s relationships with both Max and Eiji and it is one of the primary reasons of conflict in the series. As a matter of fact Ash’s wish to make himself free from Dino is one of the main driving motivations of his character.So, Dino is a good and complex villain because he effectively represents everything the series condemns and he manages to be a danger for the other characters not because of his abilities and talents, but mainly because of his connections (the one with Ash, the one with the government, the one with the Lees and the one with Blanca) and this is very interesting when it comes to the themes of the series.3) Finally let’s consider a gray character who isn’t particularly sympathetic aka Kyubey in Madoka Magica.Kyubey is another antagonist I personally like very much because he is extremely important for the themes of the series. He has very complex motivations and he isn’t really evil since he doesn’t have any malice toward the other characters. He simply has a system of values which differs from the human one. This discrepancy together with the fact Incubators have no emotions makes Kyubey an extremely creepy character and a difficult one with whom empathize.This short list is meant to underline two things. 1) A character doesn't have to be gray in order to be complex and 2) As character doesn’t need to be sympathetic in order to be gray.So, Hisoka is not an easy character with whom sympathize, but he doesn’t lack depth or complexity imo. First of all, he is an extremely coherent character. He is motivated by his love for fighting and every actions he does is coherent with this passion of his. He simply doesn’t know how to interact with others outside this specific frame. Even his current actions are nothing more than a continuation of his match with Chrollo. Actually one could say that Hisoka is applying what he told Gon to Chrollo as well. Their match started in the Celestial Arena and has now been moved to the real world where there are no rules and where what Chrollo cares for the most is in danger.Moreover, Hisoka is the Joker of the series and this is well exemplified by the fact that in every arc he is always his own faction. Even when he joins someone else he has always his own interest in mind and said interest never completely overlaps with what his own allies want.This is very interesting when it comes to his relationship with the spiders because, in a sense, Hisoka is a darker foil of the whole group.Simply put, the Spiders are a chaotic force. They are individuals outside society and because of that they don’t follow society’s rules. What is more, they are famous for being wild cards even in Meteor City. Their chaotic nature is noted in this arc as well and the mafia is worried about the disorders they might cause. However, Hisoka is more chaotic than them. They have each other and the rules Chrollo gave them. They might be simplicistic, but they are laws and the Spider itself is a proto-society. They can argue as much as they want that they are outsiders and not a part of society, but Hisoka is completely alone and lacks any tie. In short, Hisoka is what the spiders would be if they lacked the Spider i.e. isolated chaotic forces. Since this arc tackles themes linked to what it means to be part of a society I am curious to see what Hisoka’s role in this succession war will be.Thank you for the ask!

Seungcheol takes the lead and peaks his head out the door

after the call, you already went down to their managers room

the feelings he felt were definitely not platonic  

you grunt as you try sneaking back into your room at 6 am, hurrying to wrap your wrist and cover your bruise before anyone worries 

but you halt as your eyes meet Chan’s fiery ones 

he moves away from your door that he was leaning against as you silent swipe your card to open it

Like so many of our sweet sweet SVT boys

I think when it comes to getting into a serious relationship

Wonwoo prefers to actually know and be friends with whoever he’s gonna date first

Since the other boys know that, they’re always trying to get their friends to come hang out and make connections with Wonwoo 

Bc they know he doesn’t really do that sort of thing on his own

Not really for any other reason besides that he’s just lazy and introverted and prefers being at home over trying to go out and do things like date

But then one day he’s watching Dino and his partner just being all cute and all 

And he has this sudden realization 

“Oh I want that”

Which is maybe why when Hoshi says he has another friend he’d like Wonwoo to meet

Wonwoo is suddenly pretty open to the idea

“You’ll really like em Wonnie, they’re quiet like you, so they won’t be overwhelming. They enjoy staying at home like you too! Oh and they like that show you do...”

Hoshi is droning on and on to hype Wonwoo up

And usually Wonwoo just rolls his eyes at these things so he can get it over with and get the boys off his back

But this time it just makes him super nervous 

Because now he wants to date

So if you end up being someone that he likes then he has to worry about being someone you’ll like too

Hoshi starts to notice Wonwoo’s change in attitude

“Hey, this’ll be great, I wouldn’t be setting y’all up if I didn’t think you two would like each other”

Wonwoo nods silently and follows Hoshi to meet you where you said you would

Since Hoshi knows both of you are quiet (at least when meeting new people) he takes the liberty of leading the conversation the first time you two are introduced 

Hoshi gets nervous about it when you both remain mostly quiet

But he catches glimpses of you two shyly smiling at each other and starting to warm up to each other

And later when they’re back home

Wonwoo walks up to him and grabs his arm gently and very quietly says “I had a good time, can we meet with them again?”

And Hoshi’s like “yeah sure”

But on the inside he’s like “IT’S HAPPENIIIIIIING”

So helping Wonwoo connect with you becomes his full time job for a bit

He accompanies you both on your meetups so Wonwoo doesn’t feel so nervous

And from what he can see, it’s going really well 

You both really like each other and seem to be growing closer and closer quite quickly

Then one day Wonwoo is getting ready 

And Hoshi is like “Where you going bud?”

And Wonwoo’s like “To meet [Y/N]”

And Hoshi cannot stop himself from grinning 

“Oh, on your own, huh?”

“Don’t”

“I didn’t say anything”

So Wonwoo goes to hang out with you one on one 

And he’s just as nervous as the first time he met you

But it goes great!

He was scared that he would get shy and awkward but there’s not a quiet moment between you

And at the end he scratches the back of his head and asks if you want to do this again

And obviously you’re all about it

Once you two are actually dating 

You both actually get comfortable with being quiet around each other

Bc sometimes neither of you really want to put in the effort of conversation

Sometimes he likes to be quiet and listen while you talk and sometimes it’s the other way around

And there’s a lot of hanging around at your place or the dorm

Sometimes the boys whine about it 

“Hoshi you should have introduced him to someone that got him out of the house more” 

“I know right, look that them, I don’t think they’ve moved from that spot in three days”

You and Wonwoo are really just happy to be in each other’s presence, watching your favorite shows, and snacking

That doesn’t mean you never leave tho

You two like to go out on dates

Coffee shops, book stores, walks, picnics, museums

You two do it all

But you both prefer home lol 

Which means lots and lots and lots of cuddling

Really you two are usually just chilling in a big pile on the couch

Your favorite days are the rainy ones 

No TV shows or anything 

Just sitting around quietly and watching the clouds roll by and falling asleep to the calming sound of thunder

Wonwoo won’t ever admit it

But being someone’s boyfriend makes him incredibly nervous

He’s always been quiet about his insecurities 

But he has a big weight on his shoulders about whether or not he’s enough for the people around him

You don’t even realize how he feels until one day he makes a sort of joke about it

And you stop in your tracks

“Wonwoo do you really think that about yourself?”

He watches you with a joking smile on his face but you can see his eyes tear up a little

You don’t make a huge deal about it because you don’t want to pressure him to talk about it right then and there

But you learn to spoil him after that

Mostly with words

Whenever you’re cuddling, you’ll pet his head and tell him how good he is to you and how happy he makes you feel and how grateful you are for everything that he’s done for you

Sometimes he’ll joke and push you away and taunt you for being cheesy

Sometimes he’ll just hold you tighter and bury his face in your neck

He’s like the softest boyfriend ever

Affection is always shy and comfortable and genuine

He even talks softer to you than he does to other people 

He treats you like a precious precious person

Not because he thinks you’re weak and depend on his care 

But because he thinks you deserve to be taken care of even if you don’t need it

And you do the same for him

I feel like since Wonwoo is quieter sometimes he won’t really feel like talking much and you have to learn some of his signals for when he wants things

Like when he crawls on top of you silently it means he wants to cuddle

But when he crawls on top of you and is giggling and and smiling and poking you it means he wants something to eat

Or when he sits next to you silently and looks at you with puppy dog eyes, he wants to watch a show he knows you don’t like that much lol

But once you get used to his signals, he becomes easy to read and hardly has to say anything for you to know what he wants from his gestures

And since he knows he’s like this, he puts in effort to read you as well so he can extend the same courtesy to you

He has a really big heart 

Any anniversary gifts he gives you are really well thought out 

And he always keeps a level head during fights, so he never says anything to hurt you

He remembers little things about you 

And he’s willing to sacrifice time and energy just to make you smile

And again, you do the same for him

You’ll go up to see him when he has to write his raps for songs

Usually it’s just you leaning on his shoulder and watching the computer screen as he types and listens to beats over and over

Then he’ll nervously play it out loud and ask for your advice

And you don’t even know that much about writing music but you’ll suggest changes in tempo or usage of different words to try and help with the flow

And sometimes you’re worried that you lead him in the wrong direction

But he always talks out your suggestions and thanks you genuinely for doing what you can to help him

Just an overall really pure and sweet relationship

Wonwoo is just utterly and completely happy to be with you

He can’t stop himself from fanboying over you 

Whenever you do something cute, his grin takes over his whole face and he can’t stop giggling as he reaches forward and pinches your cheeks

But honestly you own his whole heart

He’s completely devoted to you and shows it to you in the sweetest ways

Ahhh you’re moving >.< that must be really hectic also I’m sorry about getting back to you so late, I’m currently in the process of packing to go out of town for family related issues🤧. But yes they released a notice and I was like so sad because I had finally mastered doing HIT on hard mode as well as Bang! and Shampoo by After School.

I feel like our Change in music has to do with us finding our own individual identity?! So I just mostly find it hilarious how fast my taste in music and my playlists are affected by my moods depending on the day ( I will legit be singing Deathbeads by BMTH word for word one day and then singing Adore U the next) also you go and dance your heart out to alcohol free it’s such an addictive song😭💕 Omg that sounds terrible…I remember we went on lockdown around March and it was like a month too late and then reading stuff about other countries and how they were enforcing lockdown and how the UK was a bit slower but still I can’t wait for this pandemic to be over so you and other European carats can see the guys live💕Warped tour was the highlight of my early teen years I wish I could go back😭 the mosh pit was insane!!! But seriously metal heads are the sweetest like don’t let the music taste fool ya they can be the sweetest guys ever, BUT YES OMG I MET BVB I WAS SHOCKED I DIDNT CRY BECAUSE I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM but I don’t think that makes me cooolll😭💕

I didn’t get hurt, thankfully and I will never not thank the Dino fanboys who literally saved both me and the girl from harm (I lost my footing and I was about to fall over when one of the Dino fanboys grabbed my hoodie top, another one grabbed me by my belt loop on my right side and another from the other side) They were the real hero’s coanfjsjdn😂😂 Hopefully there will be another world tour when all this madness and the pandemic is over and you get to see the boys live one day and you’ll get to sing along to their set list and sing smile flower to them 🥺🤧💕 -🦊 anon

Seventeen’s reaction to you get in a car accident / Perfomance Team

Soonyoung  

This little ray of sunshine is the one most destroyed among the four of the performance team. Not because others aren’t upset, but because he’s a small crybaby inside.  

He’s practicing in the rehearsal room along with Junhui, Minghao and Chan, they are looking for new ideas for the next comeback, they absolutely want to be better than the previous time.  He talked to you a few hours before, so he’s quiet, relaxed, he’s giving the best of himself.  

None of the four realizes of your best friend, who is now a kind of 14 member of the group, who enters the rehearsal room and observes them for a few seconds. Sooyoung sees his image shortly after and immediately notes his red and extremely swollen eyes and his trembling. So he stops the music and the other three, going towards him feeling the concern grow fast.  

“Jungsok, what’s going on?”  

“She.. She…”  

Sooyoung feels a knot in his throat that prevents him from speaking, while he squeezes his shoulders and shakes them so that he can talk about it because he understands that’s about you. Though, inside himself, he doesn’t want to hear.  

“She had an accident.. It’s.. She’s in critical conditions.. ”  

The swearing of Junhui and the weak “Noona” of Chan arrives as faint echoes, while it’s now Jungsok to support him. He just takes a look to make himself understood, so he nods and goes out of the rehearsal room and doesn’t even notice the other three who follow him.  

In the car he cries quietly, looking at the panorama out of the window and, perhaps with masochism, draws every single moment with you. The Laughter, your teasing him for his 10:10 expression , your kisses, every single thing. And every memory is a blow to his chest. In the hospital that already battered heart is even more broken when he sees your parents, who immediately embrace him but he can’t reciprocate the hug. He asks only to be able to see and without waiting for a response he enters the room, approaching the bed and trying to ignore the pangs of pain that he feels to see you unconscious and with a respirator. He lays on the bed beside you, paying attention to every thread, breathing with wheezing and continuing to weep even more hysterically despite not producing any sound.  

“Ple.. Please.. You remember you wanted to adopt a dog? And that I was opposed because I knew, I know, that I should keep it in the dorm because you even forget to eat as you could take care of a dog?? Well, if you reopen your eyes immediately I’ll take all the puppies you want.. But please.. Don’t leave me. Not you. ”  

Junhui  

Junhui, like Minghao, still has some difficulties with Korean. And that’s why the night before he fought with you because he misunderstood what you said, leaving the bitter in the mouth to both.  

He’s not a rancorous guy, but I think he’s proud enough not to say sorry to you in spite of the others explaining his mistake of understanding. More than anything else he’s ashamed of not being perfectly comfortable with the language yet and having started a discussion for such a futile reason.  

Fortunately, with a little effort, Jeonghan and Minghao have persuaded him to come and apologize in person, and that is how he’s walking towards your house when he sees an ambulance pass by him in the direction of the hospital. He’s curious to know what happened because he also sees the police sirens not too far away, but apologizing with you is the most important thing at that time.  

When he comes to your house he plays the doorbell several times, but no one answers and it’s strange because he knows that your family and you are always at home at that time, especially you.  

“Shit Y/N.. Where are you? ” He murmurs to himself, taking his phone and composing your number.  

There are few rings that make him wait but it’s not your voice to answer the call.  

“Hello??”  

“Sorry.. Who is he? ”  

“I’m a police officer and you?”  

“The phone owner’s boyfriend ..”  

His answer is a breath, the fact that to answer was a very restless agent and when the latter tells him that there was an accident near your house and you’re involved his heart loses beats, then start beating so quickly and with grief, because it’s not possible that it’s the reality.  

He doesn’t even thank the man on the phone but starts running in the opposite direction to reach the hospital as soon as possible. He runs so fast that immediately the spleen starts to hurt but he doesn’t care, he wants to see that you’re okay. Because your last words may not have been “I hate you ” said at the same time. He almost stumbles when he enters the sliding doors and runs towards acceptance, asking information about you immediately. And with a short breath comes to the floor, trying to stay calm despite being on the verge of collapsing at any moment.  

Your brother is approaching him and you look at him with hatred, maybe he knows about your stupid fight the night before.  

“She was crying because of you when she went out. This is your fault, so leave Junhui. Right now I just want to beat the hell out of you ”  

And those words are the final blow because now the guilt is filling his mind and his heart and he falls seated, with his back against the wall and his head in his hands as he wonders how he can survive if you don’t have to reopen your eyes.  

“You understand?”  

“I’m not leaving, Minho.”  

“You want me to beat your pretty face?”  

“Do as well, that’s what I deserve.” He mutters and would like to relieve the pain that feels into his chest with something else. “I should be there in her place, Minho. It should be me. ”  

Minghao  

Minghao has faced the distance from his own home and family, living in a foreign continent and training altogether. So he’s strong enough, he doesn’t quite often show his true emotions or at least not in front of the camera.  

For that I think he would be one of those that would react “better”, I mean no hysterical crying or emotional collapse, to the news.  

He was already in the hospital with his manager, to control a problem with his ankle that disturbed him for days. He wasn’t worried about the absence of your texts, he remembers that you’re in the middle of an exam session and doesn’t want to disturb you that much. He’s with his own manager when he sees a familiar face, too.  

“Pdnim.. Can I check something? ”  

His voice is candid, clean, quiet. The man nods and tells him that he waits near the elevator and to hurry because he has to go back to rehearsals.  

“Boosong??”  

And when the girl turns, Minghao smiles gently because he has always loved your sister, from the first moment you let her know. But the smile dies on his lips when he notes her desperate look. He immediately approaches her and surrounds her shoulders with his arm, without thinking that you may be the cause of that despair.  

“What’s going on?”  

“I was.. I-I was going to call you, Ghao.. ”  

“Why..?”  

But the answer doesn’t come from Boosong, but from your body on a cot while being transported into the room in front of they. He completely freezes at that sight, thinking at first to have seen wrong but when he enters the room, followed by the small and petite girl, he knows that he hasn’t see wrong before. He approaches the bed and the nurse smiles at him with displeasure, but he doesn’t even notice. His gaze is completely on you, on the bruising on your face, on the broken leg, on your body that looks full of bandaging. He doesn’t cry or scream, he doesn’t have a mental blackout, simply he sits at your side and takes your hand, smiling with his lips resting on it.  

“You should reopen your eyes..”  

“And you.. y-you should talk.. w-with a low voice.. ”  

“I knew my presence would make you wake up.”  

Minghao is pretending to be good because you have actually just reopened your eyes, but inside he’s making a deal with a fear that he has never tried and that’s making him consider every priority he has ever had.  

Chan  

He’s, indeed, still a “kid”. He’s only 19 years old and a similar news would send him, in my opinion, in total panic.  He’s with Jeonghan and Seungcheol, Moms and pops, who are teasing him and mocking how they usually do. And already, for this reason, he’s slightly annoyed, but not so much because he’s now accustomed to them  

“Who’s baby are you??”  

“Jeonghan Hyung….”  

“Until when?”  

“Up to my 30.”  

Seungcheol laughs because it’s now a show seen and revised, but he always finds it amusing, especially the expressions of the Maknae. When the manager enters the apartment and looks directly towards the youngest of the group, with a strange expression, the two hyung understand that something is wrong. 

“Dino-ssi, can I talk to you a second?”  

“Yes!”  

He’s the cheerfulness made by person, that adorable smile, those dimples and those eyes still full of unmotivated joy that distinguish him (A/N: not when it is on stage, God has mercy on our soul, I feel a sinner).  

“What’s going on, PDnim?”  

“It’s about Y/n..”  

“W-what happened with Y/n..?”  

And the news comes as a bomb for Chan because immediately his eyes are wide open and become wet due to the tears he’s trying to restrain.  

He’s in total panic and doesn’t know what to do nor what to say and that is why for the first few minutes remains silent, while the manager tells him that he can take the day off and go to the hospital.  

“H-hyung.. W-What should I do now? ” He asks feeling completely lost, looking at Jeonghan who is extremely concerned, both for you and for him. He never saw the maknae with that expression, so he takes the situation and asks the manager to accompany all three in the hospital. Meanwhile, Seungcheol is trying to reassure Chan, who continues to tremble and ask what he has to do because he can’t really understand the situation, it almost seems to be a nightmare.  

He doesn’t even notice the trip in the car or to be at the hospital, but with the help of the two Hyung, he comes to your room and as soon as he sees you the awareness of what happened really drags him down.  

“Jagi..” He sobs as he approaches the bed and caresses your face bends towards you and touches your forehead with his lips while his tears fall even on your face.  

“W-Wake up.. You know I n-need you.. You’re my light, don’t leave me.. Please, I swear that I-I stop stressing you with Michael Jackson.. P-please, come back to me.. ”

Trini wasn’t one to freak out; unless she had good reason to; she wasn’t going ape shit on what was hopefully the last of the residual Goldar dust putties for no reason. You would think that after almost five years the putties would be long gone, but nooo… they were still causing trouble. Then again, Goldar was made up of a lot of gold.

Trini faced off with Rita alone in her bedroom; sure she was terrified, but she didn’t freak out. They fought Goldar in giant dino cars, she found that one pretty cool, not all that terrifying, and she found a spaceship underground with a group of people who were practically strangers, and she did freak out a little bit, but this, what everyone was witnessing was different.

Trini was called ‘Crazy girl’ for her crazy impulsive actions when they (The Rangers) first met, but watching Trini destroy a putty with another putties severed arm and then lodge her daggers into the faces of two others? Zack thought she finally snapped.

The only one who could calm her was currently fighting to stay awake in Zack’s arms after taking a nasty blow to the head.

Oh.

It took him way too long to get it.

But Kim’s been hurt in battle before and Trini never freaked out like this, so what was so different this time?

“Yellow! Yellow! Pink’s good! Pink’s fine!” Tommy shouted as she cut down one of the last few putties. Trini was currently fighting off what should have been Billy’s group of putties. Trini tore through her group of putties to get to Kimberly and dispatched those putties as well before ordering Zack to watch Kim.

Billy was currently stood off to the side. “She’s right! Oh! I did not know their arms could bend that way! Pink’s good though, possible concussion, maybe some blood loss, because that was a pretty bad hit, but Pink’s got a thick head.”

“Blue! Not helping!” Jason yelled.

Trini slammed her fist into the chest of a putty so hard its crumbling pieces flew in all directions.

“You messed with the wrong girl’s wife!” Trini roared as she charged at a putty and tackled it into another.

They all knew Trini was a somewhat vicious fighter, but this was a whole new level; and to be honest, the boys and Tommy were slightly afraid.

“Alpha, get Pink out of here.” Zack said.

In a flash of pink, Kim was gone.

Trini suplexed a putty giving the boys and Tommy a small opening to finish off the last of the four putties.

Once they were back in the command center Jason tried to talk to Trini but she shoved past him towards the medbay.

“Trini wait!” Jason called after her.

“Not now, Jason!” Trini growled.

The door to the medbay slid open to reveal a fretting Alpha as he insisted Kimberly lay back down. Kim-armor gone and back in her street clothes of jeans and a shirt was sitting sideways on the bed as if about to hop off-looked up when she heard the door open and smiled when she caught sight of Trini.

Trini’s yellow armor receded as she moved further into the room and closer to Kimberly.

“Master Trini! Thank goodness, please tell Master Kim she should lay back down! The scans showed an anomaly in in her blood, and I am very concerned.”

Trini practically sprinted to Kim’s side at that. “Anomaly?! What kind?!” she demanded, cupping Kimberly’s face and looking over the healing gash on Kimberly’s forehead. Billy rushed over to the computer Alpha stood in front of.

Kimberly smiled at her frantic wife and pulled Trini’s hands away from her face, resting their joined hands in her lap. “Trin.” Kimberly said softly. Once Kim had Trini’s undivided attention, Kimberly glanced down at her stomach.

Trini’s eyes widened in realization.

“Oh.”

Kimberly giggled. “Yeah, oh.” She tugged Trini closer and kissed her chastely.

They pulled away with smiles and rested their foreheads together; Trini being mindful of the gash on Kimberly’s forehead.

“What oh?” Tommy asked, her own white armor disappeared as she stood not too far behind Trini.

Jason nodded. “Yeah, what oh? You mind clueing us in on what that was back there?”

Billy raised his hand. “Uh, Kim, all your scans are fine, perfect really, but it does say you have elevated levels of human chorionic gonadotropin.”

“What now?” Zack cut in.

“Human chorionic gonadotropin is the human hCG. It shows up in a female’s-or other’s-blood and urine when they are pregnant.” Billy answered before he scrunched up his face in confusion. “But Kim’s not pregnant.” He turned to her. “Are you? Because if you aren’t you should really go see a doctor because some cancerous tumors give off the hormone.”

Kimberly and Trini shared a small laugh and secret smiles.

Billy still looked confused. He looked to Jason who was the best at understanding the two when they looked at each other that way.

“Uh, Jason, why are they laughing? Cancer is a very serious matter!” Billy exclaimed.

Jason looked intently at their two friends and smiled. “They’re smiling and laughing because Kim’s pregnant.”

Zack’s eyes widened. “Holy shit! You actually did it? I thought you two were just thinking about it?”

Tommy swatted Zack’s shoulder. “You knew?”

“I knew they were thinking about it! I had no idea they actually did it!” Zack defended.

“Kim and Trini are having a baby?” Billy asked. “Like actually growing a person inside her? That’s awesome!”

Kimberly nodded. “Yeah, Trini and I are having a baby; we were going to tell you once we were further into the pregnancy just to make sure it stuck.”

“That’s amazing!” Tommy exclaimed, her eyes shining with joy. “I’m gonna be the best aunt!”

“I’m gonna be the favorite uncle!” Zack yelled.

The statement started up an argument between Zack and Jason.

“Do I get to be an uncle?” Billy asked.

Trini pulled away slightly from Kimberly and beamed at him. “Of course! I know for sure you’ll be his/hers/their favorite.”

Billy grinned and did his little hand claps. “Cool.”

“Do I get to be an uncle?”

Zack and Jason stopped their small shoving and taunting match, Billy and Tommy looked down at Alpha who was looking t Kimberly and Trini expectantly. Kimberly and Trini exchanged a smile and nodded at him.

“Of course you can.” Kimberly told him.

Alpha threw his little fist into the air, his little feet leaving the ground with a small hop. “Yes!”

Kimberly leaned into Trini. “Our kid’s the luckiest kid in the world.”

Trini smiled and kissed Kimberly’s cheek. “Duh, we’re awesome, Billy is amazing and will have them blowing something up in record time, Alpha will have them speaking Eltarian to save them from our primitive language, and Jason’s pretty cool, don’t know about the other two, and Zordon will gift them with knowledge while secretly grooming them to be a ranger-I see you, wall dad.” She cast a playful glare at the ceiling.

Zordon’s deep chuckle rang through the room. “I am curious to see how the morphing grid will react with the child; the child being as close to it as they are. There have been stories about the children of rangers being more likely to become rangers, but I have never witnessed it.”

Kimberly squeezed Trini’s hands. “Let’s hope that’s a very long time from now.”

“Yeah.” The rangers and Alpha chorused.

It was also a concern to Kim and Trini about the morphing grid; they were both rangers, so will their kid experience side effects to it? Will they be a ranger in the future? Will they have to be a ranger in the future? They’d deal with it when they crossed that bridge.

“And hey!” Zack exclaimed. “What do you mean ‘I don’t know about the other two?!’ I’m great!”

The others, even Zordon, laughed.

Tommy crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. “I will have you know I’m a delight!”

Zack scoffed and the others laughed.

“Sure you are.” Zack rolled his eyes.

“I am!” Tommy protested.

Tommy and Zack went back and forth for a moment before Zack told Tommy she could meet him in the pit.

Kim looked around at the smiling faces of her friends and at Zack and Tommy’s retreating backs as they shoved each other on their way to the pit.

Yeah, their kid was going to be in for a ride.

I can't see him being too picky with what he listens to. So he'd be interested in the music you like but he wouldn't take it or leave it. He listens to it when you do and then other than that he just does his own thing. 10/10 would jam when you're sharing headphones.

I can see him loving your reactions to your own music more than the music itself. But it doesn't mean he hates the music. He's another one that would listen to it if it was on, but he wouldn't run to you to ask for new artists unless he was seriously lacking some listening content.

Probably couldn't listen to it all the time but he appreciates that you're into it. I could see him being the type to listen to trap music expectantly like "when do the lyrics start?" Haha

I see him dancing to trap and hip hop kind of like a suburban Dad. He likes both and will listen to them, but I see him appreciating old school hip hop and a nice chill nation song from time-to-time when he's alone. /to hype himself up/

100% is here for trap music and the hardest of all hip hop. Also a man who can appreciate a good lyricist and LOVES a good drop. When you make him playlists his heart melts and he dies and goes to heaven. Never asks for new artists from you but is ALWAYS wanting to, so when you offer he's always thankful.

Lil' Boo Boo here is gonna go MAD the first time you show him a trap song. He'll be bouncing off the walls, trying to crump, Vernon is dying in the corner. Pls save this boy before he hurts himself. It's not his first choice to listen to when he's alone but it's definitely never a dull moment when you play your music around him.

Loves the hip hop! Thinks it sounds super awesome especially if it's not Korean, but be prepared to teach him EVERY WORD of translation because now you've peaked his interest. ignore the caption Could go either way honestly. I feel like the kind of music he listens to depends solely on his mood. Sometimes he's into soft and sweet stuff and other times ya boy wants to know the most hardcore artist you've got in your arsenal. If you shoved a headphone in his ear he'd listen contently until the end of the song and give you an approving nod though. :)

Trap music is going to be his long lost love. Since he break dances I can see him always asking the artist and song names you show to him so he can mash them up and dance to them later. The type to listen to trap and get too hyped lol. I see Dino thinking trap and hip hop are extra cool just because you listen to them. Also vice versa. "Isn't Y/N so awesome? Have you heard the music they listen to? So cool!"

If. He. Can. Dance. To. It. He. Loves. It. Save this boy from himself. He's going to jam until his legs bust off especially if you show him the darker side of trap. When it comes to hardcore hip hop expect a lot of weird misplaced dance moves /so much dabbing/ and some hype man like yelling. He loves your taste in music and would definitely want you to dance to it with him.
