The ‘bad’ kind of desire

pairing: soobin x reader

synopsis: you can't touch him, because he's too innocent, too sweet. but god you wish you could.

a/n: the first portion of this fic has been in my drafts since roughly july last year and was in my notes app for a few months - at least - longer than that so don't even ask me how old this really is, but at least it's out!!😭

“Am I bad person?”

Beomgyu scoffs, looking at you with eyebrows raised. He nearly laughs at the ridiculous statement coming from your mouth.

"What?"

And that makes him lose it, unable to even hold it back as he barks out a laugh, looking at you as if you've grown a second head.

It’s a hard thing to fathom coming from you given that you’ve definitely never had any qualms about your morality when it comes to this kind of stuff. “Really? You’re asking me that?”

His best friend sits across the room, oblivious to the conversation, his headphones pulled over his ears, the game he’s playing flashing on the computer screen in front of him.

Soobin.

Sweet sweet Soobin, messy blonde hair left unbrushed, pajamas still on, not bothering to change as this was all he was planning to do all day.

Sweet Soobin who you can’t help but want to play with.

Who you can’t help but imagine how pretty he’d look with tears in his eyes.

"I'm not fucking around Gyu-am I a bad person?"

You groan and flop over on the couch, rolling over to rest your head in Beomgyu’s lap, looking up at him with a comically-in his opinion-concerned expression.

He gives you nothing but an exaggerated eye-roll. "Don't even start."

“But aren’t I?” You look again at the boy across the room, wondering why, why he had to be so stupidly adorable. His lips were twisted into a small pout and why it was so fucking cute.

Why? You wondered, feeling like this was all you were doing nowadays.

Beomgyu resists the urge to roll his eyes at you for the second time in a row, now at the way that you look at his best friend like some kind of lovesick fool, especially considering that all you really wanted was get into his pants. It didn’t really make sense, but hey, who was he to judge?

“Why? Just because you want to rock his shit? Step on him and make him cry? That makes you question your morality? Out of everything that you've done?”

You gasp, slapping his chest. “He’s right there.” You hiss, not exactly denying the words.

He ignores that, shoving you off of him. He knows as well as you do that those headphones are the expensive noise cancelling ones that he'd gotten from you last Christmas. He barely hear himself yelling at his online teammates much less your hushed conversation.

You look at him as if you want to take him out on a nice picnic date and let him lay his head in your lap while playing with his hair pointing at clouds. Which Beomgyu couldn’t really see in any world, you were never really the type.

But who knows? Maybe you were really just that eager for his dick at this point-or the more probable scenario-have him on your dick, that it broke something inside you.

“Why’re you so concerned now? Not like you had any issues with Yeonjun or Taehyun. Hell, you kept up everyone else in the dorms,” His voice goes higher as he attempts to poorly mock his roommates. “‘Y/N, more~’ ‘please, I need it-need y-‘“

“Shut the hell up.” You spit, quickly covering his mouth with your hand while your eyes flicker once more to him, still staring intently at his game.

Really, why were you so concerned now?

Beomgyu was right. You’d had no problem doing the same to them, to Tae and Yeonjun, but they were different-he was different.

Soobin was different than any of them. They were the product of having fun with someone you knew like the back of your hand and vice versa. Simply satisfying-albeit unimportant-a matter of getting your rocks off with people you knew could find your clit and would let you hit it from the back.

Soobin was Soobin though. The sweet boy who looked at you with the most innocent smile.

Who got all blushy and embarrassed when you so much as lightly and non-vulgarly flirted with him.

You roll your eyes at him, looking once again at Soobin.

Fuck, why does he have to be so adorably innocent?

Beomgyu rolls his eyes, wiping at his mouth. "Just trust me, he'd be happy to be used by you. He might be a virgin, but he's nowhere near innocent."

"And what do you mean by that?" You sit against the arm of the couch, wiping Beomgyu's saliva onto the cushions.

He lets out a dry laugh, glancing back at Soobin before reaching for the previously forgotten remote control. "It means he wouldn't be as freaked as you think he would be if he found your sex toy collection."

You suppose Soobin had always been special in some sort of way.

But then again, that kind of was your type if you thought about it.

You'd never been particularly close with him like you'd been with the others. He'd never made much effort to hang out with you but he was there when all the others were, if not one-on-one.

And he got really, really embarrassed when you tried to flirt with him like you did the others.

You didn't mind much, you'd just come under the impression that he was kind of scared of women. Which was also kind of cute.

But Beomgyu was right when he'd said that you'd never cared much about morals in the first place.

It didn't matter how close of friends or if they were a virgin or whatever other silly things that made things like that 'trivial'.

Life was too short to pretend you didn't feel things and besides. Sometimes, you really, just...didn't care.

And it wasn't personal, when you wanted someone, you would pursue it and if there was now friend groups you'd single handedly broken up, well they'd clearly made it personal themselves because you always made it very clear that there was no feelings involved.

Besides the raw, hot tension that made your skin tingle like your nerves were livewire.

Soobin was different though, special.

ramble of my scattered thoughts on the piece under cut as usual cuz i love talking 😋

This has been an idea I've been cookin for a while, and it was so cluttered and unlike any other ensemble piece I've made... and I decided I oughta do it anyway. I love Miku, I love Vocaloid, and I wanted to do something really ambitious and crazy for her anniversary. Crazy that she's turning her "canon" age this year TwT

I had the idea floating around since like, May...? And then finally started acting on it around June 18. I'm terrible with deadlines, obvious with how I can never make a silly birthday post in time, so I started wayyyy ahead to make sure I have some room to be lazy lol, especially with an idea as ambitious as this.

This was finished on July 12! So I had to sit on this for an annoying amount of time. Very difficult for someone like me who just wants to talk about everything I'm working on to the masses. But at the very least, that gave me the time to work on the draft for this post.

Here's some ~behind the scenes~ scribbles leading up to the finished piece!

Left is the chicken scratch plan i made in my handy dandy notebook (whenever things are getting real and ambitious, i always made a rough ROUGH plan in there. Usually I'd do a rough pass of the full thing, but this was too complicated for me to do traditionally. I majorly benefited from digital tools to make this possible). CyberDiva and CyberSongman were considered, but I ended up cutting them cuz I just didn't feel like drawing them sorry-- (just pretend they're off to the side. They gave Ruby and Clara the pizza lol). Right is the "final" completed sketch (before I decided to include Chika mid-way through coloring and VY1 and VY2 near the finish line). I started by drawing the main "groups" separated on a different canvas so I can plop them into the main canvas for easy rearranging and transforming. However I got lazy and ended up drawing everyone in the bottom right corner directly on the canvas since I liked seeing the big picture of everyone's positions. Y'know.

Almost excluded Chika! But I like her design so much that I just felt like including her last-minute. You win this time, Chika fans. VY1 and VY2 were very close to being cut! I added them when I began doing the banner and thought "eh why not". I figured their non-human designs would be pretty easy to include pushed back in the bg. Ik VY1 is more commonly associated with the fan design, but I referenced the hairpin cuz it was simpler and the fan looked very annoying to draw 😭

Sorry to the fans of many Vocaloids I had to cut because this composition was insane enough as is. I promise I wanted to include fellas like CUL, LUMi and Sachiko 😭 I will admit I was a little biased on who I wanted to include over others. Like, I don't normally care for Bruno and Clara, but I wanted to get some more international 'loids in the mix. Also wanted to stick in the realm of official designs and not fan-designs since, as much as I can appreciate those, are just a whole "wait who is that guy supposed to be" situation I didn't wanna deal with. I also did wanna include even more character references through the balloons, but they ended up being kind of ugly and overcomplicated the BG :,) (Oh, and while this was originally planned to be a Vocaloid-only piece, I did end up including Teto, Neru, and Haku 'cuz those are Miku's besties dude!!! They may not be Officially in the club but they're her girls and it would be criminal to not invite them to her birthday).

Anyway, this project marks the first time I've drawn a lot of Vocaloids. Lily, Piko, Rana, Yuki, Yukari, Miki, Maika, and many more lol. All of 'em I've heard or seen in passing, but now I actually drew them, and some have really cool and fun designs!! I got into a habit of drawing Merli after this since I just love her design for example. And I'll probably be drawing more lol!!

Oh and the last thing I'll add for now!! The cake is indeed made up of various song references!! I wanted to reference the "big four" producers, just absolute icons in Vocaloid history. The pink/black checkerboard is "World is Mine" (Ryo), the crescents on the side is "Rolling Girl" (Wowaka), the smiley faces is "Matryoshka" (Hachi), and the three hearts on the side is "The Vampire" (DECO*27, which is sort of a symbol of his whole Mannequin album tbh). I know "The Vampire" is a bit modern but I couldn't think of anything else off the top of my head. I'm a fake DECO fan I know 😔 "Matryoshka" was originally going to be referenced in the colors of the candles but believe me it looked like shit so I just went for something else last minute 😭

LIGHTS UP

When her ex-bestfriends knock on her door and ask for their old band to get back together, Nat slams the door in their face. Somehow, this is not the end of the story.

WITCH'S TIME:

Lorelei Douxruisseau had always had the unfortunate tendency to get into trouble on her own. It didn't matter if it was about pissing off a Goddess, starting a war or terrorizing a village or two, all these dubious decisions were always motivated by the same thing: boredom. And it was this same boredom, Lorelei's secular enemy, that encouraged her to push open another Witch's door unannounced. And to meddle in their messy ritual. But really, it's not her fault. After all, who'd have guessed that behind their brilliant idea and idiotic ritual was the last of the Maledictus, eh? Not Lorelei, that's who. After an ill-prepared ritual and a poorly negotiated contract, when the Mighty Ones find themselves projected into Lorelei Douxruisseau's past, the whole fabric of the universe shakes and the veils of time are torn apart. Faced with an amnesiac Lorelei devoid of magic, they'll have to be patient if they ever want to return home. -> I'm on the third book for this series and it has been kicking my ass big time. I had to cut it in half and put one half in the fourth book, and I was so pissed I haven't picked it up since.

THE FLEDGLING

And Ana is hunted and hounded by the Virulentes, the less-than-human leaders of the witch's community, who resent her "abusive use of magic". Add to the mix two customers too charming for their own good, a mysterious Coven settling back into their town and a ghost from the past lurking in the shadows, and Jo is ready to throw the towel. No, really, it's not easy being to be the only sensible one around, but someone has to do it. Jo just wishes it would be someone else, for once.

-> This is my July Camp NaNo project and I'm 16k in out of 20k so I'm doing pretty well. Is it good? Meh, maybe not, but at least it's moving forward unless the other two XD

SYA Extended Notes Ch. 31

Notes for "See You After" Chapter 31: July 8: Todoroki to Bakugou

It's been a while since the last letter back in Ch. 21 (Although it was actually only 10 days of in-fic time), but it was a good way to touch on what Shouto and his family are up to while they're away, at least on the surface level. Plus, during his visit, Katsuki did say to send him tacky postcards of "touristy crap", so of course Shouto would do just that.

Sidenote: I've been to Hokkaido twice and still have not managed to go during peak lavender season 😭 Lavender ice cream is really good though.

Also, our search histories say a lot about us, which is kind of scary in a real-life context, but I've been having fun with it in this fic.

I have a lot of thoughts on the Therapy Intake Questionnaire section so I'll put that below the cut so my ramblings don't take up too much space.

First of all, this is the section I was referring to in my writing log from last night. I had a version of this in a previous draft, then removed it, then decided to put it back in (my brain is a weird place sometimes). Editing took a bit of time partly because I was trying to figure out how to format it in a way that didn't feel too cluttered, while still leaving the "draft" version of what Shouto wrote. (note: strikethroughs and underlines do not play well together visually)

If I'm being honest, I personally hate doing these kinds of questionnaires even though I'm the kind of person who usually finds it easier to write about things than talk about them out loud. I think it's because a lot of forms ask for way too much information about symptoms and past experiences in a very clinical way (for instance, checkboxes and 1-5 ratings that leave no room to explain nuance or context).

That being said, I selected questions that I thought would best serve the narrative and I do have some thoughts about why Shouto answered some of them the way he did. (Of course, feel free to interpret things however you want, but these are my headcanons that made their way into the story)

For the question about "who do you consider to be your supports", he didn't list his mom because even though they've come so far in their relationship, he's not at the point where he feels like he can go to her for support because he still feels like he has to protect her. He probably thought about writing down Bakugou's name (and maybe some of the others specifically) but decided to just say his friends in general.

For the question that asked about a "stable living environment", the fact that he skipped that part of the question and just wrote down who he lives with was intentional, for...obvious reasons.

For some of the questions in the "other information" section, like the ones about his positive qualities, plans for the future, and interests, I think his answers say a lot, considering he never really had a chance to explore different interests or figure out what he wants to do on his own. (He's trying though.)

And as for the question about "what concerns do you have?", it sometimes does get worse before it gets better. Dealing with the past is hard, but supposedly it's worth it.

i have a gojo series fully planned out since LAST SUMMER (except for the ending) but i still haven’t drafted it YETTTT 😭 i want to start writing it so bad but i’ve been so busy it’s crazy. im definitely starting the drafting next week. hopefully be up by july but who know lol

10. at what point in the process do you come up with titles, and how easy or hard is that for you?

i usually come up w them before writing the fic, or like a few options for a title and then pick one at the end. i like to add a lil bit of foreshadowing in the title and see if anyone spots it when reading the fic aisnsj

note: this is inspired a lot by @ateezjuliet ! please go check out her content, it’s really amazing and her work has inspired me a lot with my oc’s, so i really recommend you check her out :D. also, i edited the youtube cover myself...and i suck at editing so 😭 i’m sorry, i tried.

comfort crowd was released on july 1st 2020, and the song claim is comfort crowd by conan grey!

but yuri had written and produced this song during her hiatus and she released it as her comeback! there was no pictures of her anywhere so it was a big shock for her to all of the sudden drop this, and then right after wards KQ announced that she was coming back, and then a few hours later yuri was seen in public for the first time in six months!

note: i know i haven’t posted much about yuri’s hiatus yet, but i promise i will soon. but just so you all know, yuri first went on hiatus on january 28th, and she came back july 1st!

anyways, the music video has similar vibes to rosé’s gone, i don’t want to claim it as a what the music video looks like because it didn’t have as many different scenes, but it was similar to the scenes where she was in the dark hallway and playing chess in a sweatshirt (watch the music and hopefully you will understand).

also, it had similar vibes to deja vu bu olivia rodrigo too! when she enters the room with all of those square tvs, it shows a bunch of moments between ateez, rather that be concerts or interviews or vlogs, with yuri watching them and mascara down her cheeks.

at the end of the song when she was singing the last part, she was walking into a living room where all of the ateez members were situated. if you seen maria by hwasa, it’s similar vibes to that, once the song is over she walked into the room where ateez was just sitting on a couch together laughing. the camera moved to yuri slowly growing a fond smile at her boys, and then all of the boys ran to her and threw her into a group hug:( it even included all of their laughter in the scene, it was so cute....yuri said that she almost cried when they filmed that scene because it had been so long since she had been in a group hug since she didn’t stay in the dorms during her hiatus :(

and after the reunion scene was over, it was a black screen with a message from yuri saying: “it’s okay to lean on someone.” in both english and korean, and then it ended. yuri had also included a note in the description box of the video;

“Hello ATINY! it is yuri! i’m back after awhile, i missed everyone so much, so i’m happy to be back. after lots of resting and getting my mental health to a better state, i’m finally releasing this song. i written this song during my hiatus, it was something that comforted me and grounded me while i was away. i wrote it while thinking about my members, ateez. they are my comfort crowd, and so is atiny. i’m so thankful that i have amazing friends all surrounding me (yes atiny, that includes you :D), and i don’t think i could be the person i am today without you all. this song is really personal for me, it might the most personal song i have written and released, because i had my most vulernable and most cherished memories in mind while i wrote this. i hope that you all enjoy this song, and i hope it can comfort some. love you!”

i might do an explanation of the lyrics for yuri in a later post, because i have written some fics that tie into this song! i feel like it will probably be easy to connect them though, as long as you know the lyrics!

after writing this song, yuri had sent the draft of her singing it (it was her pure voice, there was no editing done to it, and it was just her true voice, so there was more emotion to it.) to the ateez group chat, and she sent the korean translations too and she just texted “for you.” and then didn’t say anything after that 😭

all the boys listened to it together and hongjoong read the lyrics to them, and a lot of them teared up (all of them did. they all cried.). they were all so touched they were just like :( yuri :(

they didn’t know how to react so they all facetimed yuri and she was like “NOOOO DONT CRY” and wooyoung was like “you send that song and expect us not to cry??”
