as much as i like seeing explicitly queer characters kiss on screen, you can have a queer relationship without it, yknow?

like, actors have limits to what they're comfortable with, and that's fine. maintain and follow those boundaries. but you can have characters be in a relationship and just not kiss

like, frequent hand holding. maybe they're sitting across a room and a little too close to each other, softly whispering.

little blink and you'll miss it moments, and then they'll say something in passing about it like: oh my bf/gf did this, my partner said such and such, do we really need to send my husband/wife they're, etc.

especially when it's already accidentally written that way, like just embrace it.

edit: if anyone has seen the old guard, joe & nicky are very much a couple but they only ever actually kiss once in the entire movie - like that shit slaps

Ok so this one will not make a bunch of sense to you cause all your SPN knowledge is through tumblr mutual osmosis but I have a SPN au that is beloved in my brain that I hope to one day write and which has a fun and obnoxiously long title: The once and future love of the righteous man, dean winchester. The premise of the fic is that being the "sword of michael," dean winchester's soul actually kind of is a big deal and outside the league of regular angels and demons. When cas saves him from hell in the beginning of season 4 it kinda overloads Cas' system and he starts uncontrollably timehopping for the rest of his known existence, a la "the time traveler's wife", and always tied to dean winchester, so while dean experiences the remaining story in linear fashion Cas is always in and out of time. Which, for certain scenes and season lead ups, is absolutely heartbreaking and has so much drama potential. I adore the premise of the time traveler's wife and am a sucker for all fics i've read that use that as an au so i have reams of pages of this au written out but i hope to one day have the complete story because its going to emotionally devastate me and i love it.
