nobody ever loved me like you do, spencer reid
Tumblr media
just a little prompt i couldn't get out of my head. this is majority fluff, it got kind of heavy towards the end, but no smut because i'm a coward, reader is a university student, there's an age gap between reader + spencer, unspecified, but reader is over 22. based off of 'pov' by ariana grande.
this absolutely got long as shit, i don't know how to be normal. (5.6k wrds)
"what's on your mind?" you hadn't realized you'd gone quiet until you feel the dip of the couch. it takes a moment to snap out of the little moment you've dug yourself into, but when you do you're pleasantly surprised to see your boyfriend on the couch next to you. he grabs hold of the book you'd haphazardly discarded, and flips it over. you imagine internally he's tsking at you, he was always reminding you to be careful of the spine of the books you read, but you're happy he doesn't make a move to scold you about it now. instead, he closes it, and places it in his lap, letting his eyes trace all over your pretty face.
"is everything okay?" he prods, and in truth, you were fine. you didn't really know why you'd gotten so lost in your head, it just happened sometimes. domesticity was still fairly new, and despite the fact that your relationship with spencer had gotten to the point where you both were comfortable staying at each other's places for long periods of time, you still kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. spencer was the first guy you'd been with that was older, already established, had a 'big boy job' as you so eloquently labeled it. he had security.
not that you were some lazy, unprepared individual letting your life slip by, but you were still figuring things out. you were in university, and you had big dreams and hopes for your future, it just felt like it was taking forever to get there. to your future. everyone was always telling you not to wish away your youth, but by law you were no longer a child, you hadn't been for a while. your twenties were meant to be for 'figuring things out', finding yourself all over again, or that's what you were always hearing. over time it felt easier said than done.
the point was when you were still uncertain about what you wanted to spend the rest of your life doing, it was hard to feel grown up. especially when you had a boyfriend like spencer who was always doing something to raise the bar for humanity. he was a genius, he worked for one of the most prestigious units in the fbi, he was in the fbi... that in itself was an accomplishment. he had phds, bachelor degrees, and an extensive knowledge of literature in numerous languages and texts. to top it all off, he really was a great boyfriend.
you supposed it was just you feeling a bit insecure. you didn't believe that he expected too much of you, but that didn't stop you from putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. "everything's fine." you promise, and you tack on a warm smile to really sell it. the action triggers an involuntary smile from spencer, and you feel a bit faint, just because he's so pretty. "i was just watching you read." you admit, and it was true, you had gotten a bit lost in how quickly spencer was speeding through his own book. it didn't trigger insecurity, it just left you in awe at how absurdly lucky you were to have bagged spencer.
"yeah?" and he's got this edge to his voice that he usually gets when he's tired, sleepy, content. it was comforting, knowing that he was comfortable being here, like this with you. "are you sure that you're alright?" and he's leaning forward, hand cupping your cheek as he rubs his thumb over your jaw, and you lean into him. "you know you can talk to me about anything." he adds, and he's perceptive. you're certain that part of this has to do with his job, and the other part has a lot to do with the fact that he knows you so well.
"i know." you answer instantly, and you bring your hand up to hold over top his. "trust me, i know. that's why i like you so much." you beam brightly, and you lean in and press a quick kiss to his lips. it's a peck, and it sounds like one with the way that your lips smack together. you note his disappointment when you pull away just as he moved to kiss you a bit more fiercely. you find yourself giggling a bit as he pouts at you, and you lean in to offer him another kiss.
"like?" he asks, and you know he's fishing, but for what you're not sure. his eyes never look as bright as they do when he's sitting across from you. it offers you a bit of an ego boost to know that someone as handsome as your spencer consistently looks so enamored and enraptured with you. "i thought that we were a little past like..." he says, and your nose scrunches up at his big doe-eyed stare. "am i wrong about that?" and he holds his breath.
"no, you're right." you promise, and he relaxes. "we're past that." spencer looks relieved, and you wonder sometimes what's going on in his mind. he doesn't say anything for a while, he just looks at you, his thumb continues to draw soothing circles on your face, and you think you might be convinced to fall asleep if he keeps it up. "i'm sorry." you offer, and spencer's immediately shaking his head at you.
"don't apologize." he presses, and he's peeling his hand away from your face. now it's your turn to be disappointed. "and if you don't feel like we're past the 'i like yous'... that's okay too." and he looks sad now. it's your least favorite expression on him, and you wonder if you've done something wrong. "i don't want you to feel like you're rushing yourself, okay? or like you're forcing yourself to feel anything that you don't." he says, and your eyebrows furrow inward, face contorting.
"i don't feel that way." you deny sternly. spencer's head tips to the side, curls following along, and the urge to run your hands through his hair almost chokes you out. "spencer, i don't feel that way." you reiterate, and you hate that his expression doesn't change. you hate that he looks like he doesn't believe you. "i have too many feelings for you." you admit, and you shake your head. "all of the feelings." you insist, and the problem is that you haven't managed to fully verbalize what that means. spencer's told you that he loves you, often.
you haven't managed to say it back, but not because you don't believe it. it's more so out of worry that once you tell him, things will get too real. you'll grow too comfortable, and by-proximity expose parts of yourself that spencer might not be ready for. things that'll make him run for the hills, and take his sweet i love yous with him. "that's a lot of feelings." spencer replies, and he sighs deep, chest moving with the action. you smile, mostly to ward off the tension.
he doesn't return it, and you suddenly feel anxious. "do you want-" he trails off, and he looks conflicted. "if you wanted to break up..." and your heart sinks. "you would tell me, wouldn't you?" he asks, and you immediately reach out for him, his hands curling into yours as you interlock your fingers. you want to slam your head into a wall, mostly for worrying him in this way. The last thing you'd been thinking about was a breakup, in fact, you'd finally resided yourself to the fact that you were in this relationship as long as spencer wanted you.
"do you think that's what this is about?"
"isn't it?" his quick retort makes you frown, and now you're facing one another with matching pouts. "i just want you to trust me with your feelings... all of them." he explains. "even the ones i might not enjoy the most." he treads lightly, and you find that there's nobody in the world who could matter more to you. "and i'm sorry if i haven't been doing enough to let you know that." and you huff in annoyance, but not with him. never with him. with yourself for overthinking.
"you've got it all wrong." you tell him, and you hope your words sound as definitive as they feel. "a breakup is the farthest thing from my mind." you shuffle a bit on the couch, mostly to invade the space he just took. you don't stop moving until he's back in your orbit, your knees brushing against his leg. "i've never met anyone like you before." and it feels cliche, but you suppose you've earned the right to quote the words, because they're true. "i think as far as expectations for boyfriends go, you managed to smash through them all."
spencer finds himself nervous under the onslaught of kind words. he can't look away from you though, because it's so rare when you let him into your head. despite all his profiling skills, you were still almost completely a mystery. he understood your physical cues, but the emotional ones were still hard to pinpoint. "i think sometimes i still keep waiting for you to realize how amazing you are..." and he has that annoying feeling of giddiness in his stomach. it feels childish, but he adores the rush loving you continues to give him.
"i think i'm a little aware." he says, and you laugh. your hands reach out, and now you're the one holding his face. he thinks it's a comfort thing of yours, the way you like to hold onto him when you're talking. his apprehension towards touch was no match for the way your hands on his face brought him a feeling of comfort like nothing else.
"and you still want to be with me?" you ask, and you don't sound bashful, more confused than anything else. spencer's confusion soon matches your own, his eyebrows furrowing as he recites your words over and over in his head. what sort of question was that? "i just mean that there's so many types of women out there... you work with so many." and your mind drifts to his closeness with the girls he worked with in the fbi. namely jennifer jareau.
you'd only met her a few times, you knew she was married with sons, but you couldn't shake the thought that if she wanted him she could have him. she was older, more confident, disastrously pretty. "i just don't understand why someone like you would want to be with someone like me." you express, and spencer is flabbergasted. he forces you to peel your hands from his face, instead choosing to hold your hands and squeeze them gingerly.
"someone like you?" and he wants you to get it all out, every last bit of it, mostly so that he can correct every incorrect notion about yourself that you expose.
"someone who's immature, naive, inexperienced, uncertain about almost every major decision... you know? someone like me." you divulge, and he winces. "you've got so much going for you, i just don't want you to feel like i'm holding you back." you admit. "so when i saw you reading... i don't know-" you trail off, and spencer's eyes shoot across the room to his own discarded book. "i guess i just remembered how incredible you are, and how severely inadequate i must be in comparison." and your voice gets quieter as you finish.
"you could never hold me back." he states firmly. "and even more than that... i don't think it's actually possible for someone to really hold you back." he admits, and you feel him beginning to start on a tangent, though you don't mind. they were far and few in between these days. "to me it always seemed more like an excuse people use to place blame on someone else for their shortcomings." spencer's let go of your hands, and you watch them as he gestures boisterously. "for everything i'm good at, there's so many areas where i fall short."
you don't think you've ever loved him more.
"and who says phd's and fast reading skills are what make a person better suited or fit for anything?" and he knows that you want to rebuttal, so he continues so you don't get the chance to. "my skills help me with the job that i do... we can agree that's true, right?" he asks, and you nod your head. "right. but, you don't want to have my job, do you?" he asks, and your nose curls up. you thought that what spencer did was admirable, you loved celebrating the victories with him, you knew it was important, but you don't think you had it in you.
"no, i guess not." you disagree.
"and you don't need to be called 'doctor' or hold a gun, or kick down doors, in order to be... a suitable life partner."
"you're not kicking down any doors, spencer." you crack a joke, and you like that he laughs, it's the kind that morphs into a toothy smile.
"maybe not, i just mean that out of the two of us, you're not the one who needs to worry about not being adequate... i don't think there's anything in existence that would make me not want to be with you." and you feel bashful, but know full well that you can't pull your eyes away from him. "you're a lot to lose." he exhales, and you blink. "and you don't need doctorates or much of anything for that to be the case." spencer beams a little bit, "you captivate people without even realizing it sometimes." spencer's hand moves to rest on your thigh.
"you think so?"
"sometimes i try and figure out how i got so lucky, and i hope that i keep doing whatever it takes to make you stay." he admits. "does that make sense?" he asks, and you feel your heart wanting to burst out of your chest.
"it makes a lot of sense." you agree. "and i can guarantee that as long as you want me, you'll have me." you promise.
"and if i want you forever?" he asks, and you smile despite yourself.
"then i guess you're stuck with me forever, doctor reid." and he likes the thought a lot more than he anticipated. he thinks that's why he can't ignore the urge to kiss you. he leans forward, lips overtaking yours like a magnet being pulled towards a kindred force. you almost pounce, finding yourself rooted on top of his lap, fingers finally finding solace in his hair, as his hands scope out your waist and the curve of your hips.
you hum when his lips peel away from yours, landing on your neck as he peppered the space with kisses and small bites. kissing spencer was a surefire way to get you both started down a path of insatiability. it was dangerous, but you supposed with the conversation context in mind, it made perfect sense for this to be the end result. still, it feels like there's more to say, and you suppose that it's why you tighten your hold on his hair just slightly, craning your neck to give him all the access he needs. "spence?" you gasp.
he doesn't verbally acknowledge you, instead his arms loop around you, bringing you closer as he proceeds to leave hickeys in areas that would be much too difficult to hide. "spence..." you try again.
"i'm listening." he promises before he's placing a kiss just behind your ear. it makes you squirm, suddenly feeling lightheaded as his grip on your waist tightens slightly.
"can you tell me again?" you ask, and you don't want to ruin the moment, especially after he just sweetly poured his heart out to you. "tell me how you feel about me..." you instruct a bit more impatiently. spencer's more interested in leaving more marks on your skin, but he also enjoys the vulnerability that comes with expressing himself to you. he pulls away from your neck with one last peck, before his lust-filled gaze is locked on yours. you've taken to raking your nails through his hair, gently dragging against his scalp.
"you still don't know?" he asks, and part of you thinks he's doing this on purpose. it's not until you register the slight upturn of his lips that you recognize that he's teasing you.
"is it so bad that i want to hear it again?" you press, and you're feeling a bit impatient, mostly because you're itching to finally spit the three word phrase out, but you want him to say it first.
"no." he denies, head shaking. "it's not bad at all, and i don't mind telling you, but, can you ask me the right way?" and you feel the shift, the way his fingers finally slip under your shirt. it makes you jump, the way his fingertips trace over the skin of your lower back. "what are you fishing for, pretty girl?" you don't have the courage to stare at him anymore, instead you find your head glued to his chest, eyes squeezed shut, as your arms looped around him.
"i'm not fishing." you deny, and spencer presses a swift kiss to the top of your head. despite the desire to 'get to the good part' that you know you both feel, you still enjoy this part. the clinginess, the way he showered you in attention and affection that you had never believed yourself worthy of. he loved you so openly, so easily. it never felt like a burden, it never felt like something he had to try too hard at. you liked that, you liked that he made falling in love so easy.
"no?" he doesn't sound convinced. "what are you hoping i'll say then? i know you have an idea." he says and his chin is resting on the top of your head as he adjusts you on his lap. the tension still rests in the air, but he's holding you like he's comforting you almost, arms looped around you in an almost-hug that feels warm and comfortable and familiar. it's the kind that you could get lost in, fall asleep in. maybe you will, just as soon as you get through this last little emotional hoop.
"you don't know everything."
"did i say that?" he corrects you lowly, he's not impatient with you, and you wonder how long it took him to garner enough stamina to keep up with your sass.
"no." you deny, and he hums in agreement. you've taken to running your hands up and down his back, palms closing and opening as you try and quiet your anxiety. "i want to hear you say that you love me again." you admit, and it feels like a lump is forming in your throat. "i know that you do." you add a second after. "but sometimes i like to hear it anyway..." you clear your throat. "it makes me feel-" and you trail off, because you haven't really gotten over this hurdle.
spencer's smiling, and you know that he is, because as much as he knows you, you think you know him a little bit too. "how does it make you feel?" he asks, and you shake your head, eliciting an amused sort of exhale. "you can tell me anything." he reminds you, and of course you know that. "or we could move on... if it's too much to say right now." he offers you an out like the gentleman he always has been. "do you want to go back to before?" and you definitely want to kiss him.
maybe do a bit more than kiss.
"yes." you agree, but when it seems like he's about to move, you hold him even tighter to you. "wait, no." you deny, and he's exhaling through his nose. you cringe, because you know that sometimes you can be indecisive, but you think about what he'd told you earlier. you remind yourself that he wanted you, and you calm down. "i want to kiss you again." you start, and he doesn't say anything, because he knows you're not finished. "but i want to finish our conversation first." you huff, and he's surprised, in a pleasant sort of way.
"we can do that." he promises, "what do you want to tell me?"
"i like when you tell me that you love me." you admit, and you think it's good that you're not looking at him. you also like that he's still lightly dragging his fingers along your waist, it makes you shy, but you welcome it. "it's not something that you just tell everyone, so i like that you tell me, even though i haven't said it back." you feel like you're losing your breath as you rush to get it out. "and i like how what you said earlier makes me feel."
"how's that?" and spencer is spencer. he likes to drag things like this out, he likes for you to elaborate, to explain yourself. you suppose he likes to hear you just as much as you like to hear him.
"i don't know how to express it really, but it feels nice. 'cause you always sound like you mean it when you say it." you freeze when his fingers stop their slow journey, but you don't have time to focus on that right now. "not like butterflies, but it's like stabilizing." you shrug your shoulders. "and it's not the sort of thing that feels like it comes with some sort of price. like i don't hear it, and think 'oh he's only saying this because he wants to sleep with me', it doesn't-" you inhale. "it doesn't make me anxious or anything."
spencer's disappointed that his memory mostly works for things he's seen rather than heard, because he wants to relive this conversation for the rest of his life. it's a bit unheard of, especially in his lifetime. he's seen people in love, he's witnessed incredible relationships, but nothing he's seen has ever compared to the way that you manage to make him feel. he's had girlfriends, one-night-stands, experimentations, and things in between that felt like they could be the real thing, eventually. being with you though feels easy.
even when things go wrong, when you're too stubborn to communicate, and he's too tired to fight for you to, it still feels easy. like the struggles that come with your relationship are struggles he's willing to deal with. you're someone he's willing to deal with.
"it makes me want to stay." you offer, and it's scary, mostly because you've got the world's worst habit of running away when things get too real. you packed your bags at the first inconvenience, it was who you were, who you had been before spencer. you didn't stick around to fight for your relationships, you didn't let anyone fight for you either. "like... like even if things go horribly wrong, it'll still be okay as long as you still sound like you mean it when you say i love you."
you don't think you'll cry, but you do think once you're all finished, you'll want to stay wrapped up in him like this.
"i've just never met anyone that makes life make so much sense." and your leg is slightly shaking, and you're burrowing even deeper into his chest, holding him just a bit tighter. "so please... can you tell me again?" you ask, and your hands have taken fistfuls of his shirt, curling just slightly as you try and will your heartbeat to slow.
"you all done?" he asks, and you nod your head, all done with talking for now. "i'm so proud of you." and your confusion is back, as well as your ability to talk.
"what for?" you inquire, and he unloops his arms from around you. you don't want to move, but you know where this is going. still, you decide you'll wait until he asks you.
"can you look at me, please?" he asks quietly, and you're immediately pulling back, hands in your lap as you take in all the emotions resting on your boyfriend's face.
"oh, spence!" and you hope he's not about to cry. you've never been privy to it, but you can imagine what it'll do to you in your emotionally high state. "i know that was a lot, i'm sorry." you apologize despite the fact that you've done nothing wrong, a bad habit.
"please don't ever apologize for something like that." he corrects you gently. "i'm proud, because i can imagine how hard that likely was, but you did it anyway, so thank you for sharing how you're feeling with me." you look away just for a second, the moment feeling too heavy for you to manage. you're looking back at him just a moment after, his stare something you've always been terrible at ignoring and avoiding. "would it be a let down if i told you that i feel the same way about you?" he asks, and you wonder if this phase ever ends.
you don't want to wake up one day and find that your smile no longer reaches your eyes when you look at him, or hear his voice.
"no." you answer quietly. "i like when you agree with me, especially about your feelings for me." and it's a small joke, one you partially mean. "but, you still haven't told me that you love me, yet." you remind him a bit more sternly than you have been.
"i know." he retorts, and he looks a bit smug. you want to say that you hate when he gets like this, but you know you're lying. "i'm waiting to see how long it'll take you to crack." he admits, and your nose curls. he beams at you, and you want to glare, just for the fun of it. "why are you determined not to say it first?" he asks, and you cross your arms over your chest, busted.
"you don't know what's in my head." you instead argue, and his eyes roll, but he still seems amused. "i can say it first if i very well wish." you add, and his eyebrows raise, a challenge. unlucky for you, because you had a problem with being challenged. you would always walk right into his trap like a fool.
"so then say it." he taunts, and you realize pride is one hell of a killer.
"fine, i will." you retort, voice laced in mock-aggravation. "i love you." you deadpan, you say it like it's a bother. "happy now?"
"not with that attitude. can you try again? say it like you mean it?" he presses, and you're weaker in the knees than you initially believed. all your bravado goes right out the window, and you're suddenly anxious again, with no bite to curb your words, you're certain he'll hear every ounce of emotion you feel towards him if you say it again.
"spence." you exclaim, and he's not moved. you think you hate him just a little. "it's not fair, you're being mean." you express, looking down at your lap, and you know that you're only behaving this way because you're overwhelmed.
"i'm not." he promises, and he ducks just a little so that you're looking directly at him again. "i wouldn't be, especially not about this." he adds. "i just want you to say it again for me, can you do that? please?" he asks, and you hate how absurdly handsome he is sitting across from you. he's got this way of looking innocent even when he's baiting you, and he's always got this intensity in his stare that's enough to knock the wind out of you. it's kryptonite, and precisely why you concede.
"spencer, i love you." he groans, quietly, but you hear him all the same. he's kissing you before you can react, and it's easy getting lost in moments like these. he always kisses you like he's trying to swallow you whole, too handsy for his own good. his kisses are desperate, tongue swiping out just slightly, likely to test the waters. you match his ferocity, and let your own tongue drag over his bottom lip before you press a bit more forcibly, hurriedly, desperately.
"i love you." you don't know why you're saying it again, but it's not as hard as the first time. you kiss him again, grumbling when he's quick to lean out of reach. you shoot him a sour glance, and he's not moved.
"hey, i love you too." he echoes you in the most love sick sort of way. it feels precisely as you had described it earlier, and that makes you happier. the fact that the feelings didn't change, didn't disappear all because you'd said the three words back. you hum contentedly, and then your head is back on his chest, listening to the steady thrum of his heartbeat. "does it still sound like i mean it?" he asks, he questions you softly, like he's trying to preserve the moment.
"mhm." you answer quietly, and you strain to kiss his throat once, before your back to resting against him. "did it sound like i meant it?" you mimic his line of questioning, and you're happy when his arms are back around you. he's a lot more respectable this time around, but before long, his hands are finding their chosen place back under your shirt, exploring your waist and hips as you try not to squirm.
"yes." he replies, and you're glad to hear it. "can you say it again?" you suppose in the grand scheme, you do have lots to make up for. he'd probably want you to say it over and over again.
"i love you." it's instantaneous, as is the way spencer's hold on you grows more firm. you hadn't wanted to mention it, the way sitting here like this with him had you itching for more, but it seemed you weren't the only one in that headspace. "spence?" you question, and he's dragging his hand up and down your back, legs starting to bounce just slightly.
"yeah?"
"can we go back to before now?" you ask, and you expect him to be a tease. he could never just give you what you wanted, he always had to drag it out, and make you nervous.
"back to before?" he pries, and he's leading. you huff audibly, and you adjust yourself on his lap, trying to control the way the pit in your stomach seemed to grow warm, heating you up from the inside. "you'll have to be a bit more specific than that, love." he tsks, and you hate him.
"i just-" you frown, hating this part. "i want you." you deadpan. "and you know that, so i don't know why you're being like this." except you do, because it's amusing to spencer to watch you get all flustered and nervous. you don't know why, but it's how he is. you think that one day you'll try your hand at flustering him back, just to see what all the hype is about. "i want you to-" and you're not sure exactly what counts for too blunt with a boyfriend like spencer. "let's f-fuck, okay?" and spencer's got that stupid amused look on his face again.
god, you hate him.
"that wasn't too hard was it?" he questions, and you cut your eyes. you're certain he'll make you pay for the looks, and the smart mouth down the line, but you can't care right now.
"it was excruciating." you correct haughtily. "you should be ashamed of yourself for treating the girl that you love this way." you add, and spencer's got his bottom lip tucked between his teeth as he takes you in. you gulp, shuffling just slightly as you realize precisely the predicament you've gotten yourself into.
"do you want me to make it up to you?" he asks, and he sounds breathier than before, which only serves to make you more of a hot-and-bothered mess.
"i-" you blink owlishly, unsure of his intentions.
"yes or no?" he presses, and you think either way this goes, your done for. "you've just got to say the word."
"yes." head nodding, eyes blown to hell, it's easy enough. "you should. you definitely should." you respond, and then he's kissing you again. he's much more intense this time, stealing all of the air out of your lungs as his nails scratch against your skin, you hands moving to cup his face, you hope to keep him anchored to you this way. when he breaks from the kiss again, you're ready to lay into him, only to squeak when he scoops you up, standing up from the chair.
your legs immediately lock around his hips, and you're panting already, he seemed to have that constant effect. all it took was a little kissing, and you were already a mess. "i love you." he says this like it's a reminder, and you are quick to chase his mouth with your own. you could say you were a bit obsessed with the act.
"i know." you reply, and his eyes roll at you, but he still looks as love sick as you feel.
"good. i'm going to need you to remember that, because when we get to the bed, i'm going to do a lot of things that might make you think the opposite." he says this like a definitive promise, and you gasp. "do you understand?" he asks, and you're shivering, the anticipation already managing to strike you down.
"yeah-yes!" you stutter. "i understand, it's okay." you add. spencer's already got this look of pride residing in his eyes, and you know that you're in for it, silly you for thinking love confessions would be enough to get you out of all the backtalk and clear attitude. "i'm ready!" you insist like the eager girl you are.
"we'll see." he retorts.
god, you love him.

It had been bold of you, that was for certain.
But aside from Jongseong’s whispered jokes of desiring to eat you alive, your boyfriend never had been anything but gentle with you in bed. Kind hands and soft touches, always patient, and always putting you first. Not that it was bad — no, he was the best you ever had. But it had been inevitable for you to not grow curious about what he meant by his eccentric statement.
So you asked.
Tumblr media
The soft light of the late afternoon sun cast a warm glow over Jongseong’s bedroom as it began its descent below the horizon, patches of rose gold reflecting on his television and making the movie he had put on hard to see — and maybe it had been the reason why he had lost his interest not even twenty minutes into it, his calloused fingers finding that strip of skin between your skirt and top, coaxing you into his lap until your legs were straddling his hips, knees comfortably digging into his mattress and your hands clutching at his shoulders, just as he liked it.
“I thought you wanted to watch the movie,” you said. But Jongseong was already busy, lips finding the base of your neck, trailing the expanse of your throat with soft kisses. And when he noticed that your statement required a reply, it came as an incoherent murmur, a huff of air that got you coiling yourself because it tickled.
He laughed at you then, not meaning to be unkind, but simply and merely amused by you.
“You are so cute. I could eat you alive,” he said, the last word coming as a bite in the air, a playful act that you knew just as much as the conjunct of phrases itself, but still — it made you stop.
Your sex life with Jongseong wasn’t exactly new. You had lost count of the times he had already made you come around him, from lazy make-out sessions in the front seat of his car to the hot press of your bodies into the mattress of your bedrooms, he never failed to. It had been months of discovering each other — months of learning how the other liked to be kissed, touched, and even teased. And throughout the course of it, you would be lying if you ever said you hadn’t heard this same conjunct of phrases quite a lot, but never Jongseong had been anything but gentle with you, kind hands and soft touches giving no real indication of what he truly meant by his eccentric statement and it had been inevitable for you to not grow curious.
“Jay?”
“Yes, love?”
“I just-” you started, tongue already rolling into the question, but you felt Jongseong shifting beneath you, leaning himself against his bed’s headboard as he tried to get a better view of you, eyes searching for yours with so much care — you felt a flush of warmth creeping up to your cheeks and the words stuttered and stammered, turning too shy to leave your mouth in case it ricocheted.
“Is there something wrong?” he asked.
You shook your head at his question, hands suddenly too restless to stay promptly at his shoulders, so you concentrated on playing with the sewing of his dark t-shirt, the tip of your fingers pinching at the lines with an attention that didn’t go unnoticed by him.
“Tell me,” he tried again, his voice coming even softer than before. “You know I don’t like it when you seem bothered.”
“I just — I just got curious about what you mean by it,” you said. “Eating me alive.”
Although you didn’t give yourself enough time to doubt the wisdom of saying it this time, the words came weakly — almost too silent for your own ears, and for a moment you doubted Jongseong had heard it. But then, he stopped, a sharp swallow going into his lungs.
He looked at you as if he was searching for something that told him you were joking — teasing him for being so down for you because that was how your relationship had been built, but when he found none, he reached for you, fingers barely ghosting over your skin, cupping your cheek, and curling under your jaw so he could gently tilt you up to him. The remaining luminosity turned his eyes lighter, a blend of honey and whisky as his lashes cast shadows over his flushed cheeks and you felt your chest easing.
You were a fool for thinking Park Jongseong would ever do anything to hurt you.
“Is it what’s bothering you?”
“It’s not bothering,” you said. “I just got curious.”
Jongseong hummed at you, lips twitching into a smile, and when he laughed, eyes slightly closing, you didn’t feel offended. You knew Jongseong all too well to figure it had been solely out of embarrassment.
“Well, it’s just what it sounds like,” he admitted. “You are so cute that sometimes I don’t know what to do. I want to pin you against a wall, turn you over on the bed — be a little mean, you know? Eat you alive.”
“And why- why have you never tried?” you asked.
“Would you want me to?”
“Yes,” you said, cheeks suddenly too warm. “I would want you to.”
His gaze flitted down to your lips, and back up to your eyes. It took him another breath to push the tip of his fingers further through you, and around your ear, cradling the back of your neck and pulling you so close that you did not only hear his next words but felt them against your lips, warm and sweet smelling, caramel and coffee from the frappuccino you had shared early on.
“If you change your mind and feel like stopping, you will have to tell me, alright?”
“Alright.”
“Alright,” he echoed.
Jongseong found your lips as easily as he always did: a pinch against your bottom lip that made you sigh into him, mouths parted together, lips slotting in the same rhythm that never failed to make you melt against him. But the familiarity of the act ended there. Soon enough, he was licking over you, deeper, messier — needier. His thumb pressed on the corner of your mouth, keeping you all open and nice for him, and if it wasn’t enough to make you whine, clutching your hands on his clothes when he shifted beneath you, pressing the solid length of himself against you was.
He cursed when you grind against him, a gasp for air, that made you part away. But Jongseong didn’t do anything to stop you. Instead, he tightened his grip on your hair as he rolled against you too, desire swirling through his eyes as he looked at where your skin met his denim jeans.
His hand left the purchase of your hair only to roam up your sides, taking the hem of your top, lifting it from around your waist, and up through your head. You could swear you felt all the callousness at his hands, the impact of all the time he spent playing with his guitars and you shiver with the roughness.
For a moment, you sat there looking at each other, his hands on your bare back, and then his forehead landed on your collarbone with a gentle thud, drawing the tip of his nose along the swell of your breasts.
“You are so pretty,” he said, and your breath caught like he hadn’t called you that before, but you couldn’t think much about the compliment because Jongseong was already pulling one of your nipples into his mouth, sucking it to a solid point, and making your back arch, eyes fluttering to the ceiling. The act alone was so pleasurable that a desperate sound escaped through before you couldn’t even notice it, and he took it as an incentive to move to your other nipple, his tongue drawing a faint line into your chest.
“Jay, I-,” you began, his name coming so breathy and timid. He couldn’t help but groan into you. He never had heard your voice so full of wishes like this. And maybe that was exactly what broke him.
He was really going to eat you alive.
“Bend over for me,” he said, abruptly and all at once letting you go.
You blinked, his words meeting a deadlock between your ears and brain, and it immediately made him chuckle.
“Are you already having second thoughts?” he asked. Condescension dripped from him, words liquid, and sticky. He ran the back of his knuckles down through your cheek, his thumb dragging over your lips before he pushed it at your mouth. It was a mild thing that barely had your lips part for him, but you opened your mouth anyway, allowing him to press the digit against your tongue.
“Bend over,” he tried again, his voice lower this time, demanding. And that’s what made you move, turning on the mattress. Hands and knees pushed to the sheets of his bed. Your skirt gathered at the curve of your hips with your new position, pooling in the cradle there and leaving only your panties to cover you, lacy trims, and a color that contracted way too prettily with your skin.
You couldn’t see Jongseong, couldn’t guess what he was doing, but you felt him moving into the space between your calves, hands promptly finding your hips as his knees pushed at your own, spreading them further before he hummed, an appreciative sound that made you burn.
“So fucking cute,” he said. And you weren’t sure how you could look cute in this position, but you didn’t retort — you couldn’t retort. Jongseong was already grazing a palm down to you, rolling over the bare expanse of the back of your thigh, and when he retreated, it came as a smack.
You sobbed with the act, a perhaps too-hurting sound because Jongseong stopped, palm spreading on you again, but this time caressing the reddish skin.
“Are you alright?” he asked, hushed and sweltering with tenderness. All the teasing suddenly forgotten and turned into concern.
And God, you loved him.
“I am,” you declared, but he didn’t go back to his doings.
“Are you sure?”
“Jay,” you whined.
“Ok, I got you,” he whispered, the words coming more like a tight exhale. “You know I got you.”
“I always do everything you ask me to, don’t I?” he asked, fingers flirting with the laced trim of your panties, and you almost expected him to pull the piece down, over your legs, and to the mattress with no ado. But instead, Jongseong swiped over it, barely there touches that didn’t even part you beneath the cotton, yet it was enough to make you falter, your hands trembling against his sheets.
It was maddening, the soft lilt of his fingers, teasing, gentle, earnest all at once.
You wanted to cry when he pressed a little bit harder, his middle finger nudging up against your entrance and making the cotton grow damp beneath the tip of his fingers, clinging to you and giving him the outline of everything.
You were sure you did cry when he finally pulled your panties aside, slipping a single finger inside and making you clench around him, a tight hold that got him swearing when you moved backward, chasing for more. He pulled you into him, his free hand grabbing at your hips so tightly you were sure he was leaving a mark — you wanted him to leave a mark.
He could tell you weren’t holding back anymore, whines tumbling from your lips when he slid another finger in, pushing it all the way in before he moved it back, skin coming glinting from you.
And his mind slipped away.
He wasn’t sure anymore of what to do anymore, fuck you on his fingers, or turn you around, pull his aching length on you like you both were used to. So he did the easier one. Pushing his fingers in and out, squelching sounds filling the room altogether with your moans.
You could feel your body coiling tighter and tighter around him, and if it was already hard to breathe, he made it almost impossible when he decided to hold onto your neck instead, setting his free hand against your hot skin, thumb stroking down the column of it as his palms curled nicely, tilting your head back so when he leaned on you, his lips met ears.
“See?” he cooed. “I always give what my spoiled baby wants.”
You were sure you gasped his name, eyes fluttering closed as you felt your orgasm crashing through your body, easing it and giving all your weight for Jongseong to take.
He shifted you easily through the mattress, manhandling you back onto his mattress in the bare second you took to open your eyes, blinking at the new light a few times before you could take the image of him moving in between your legs, pushing his fingers into his mouth. His tongue wrapped around it, licking over the pads, and most definitely tasting you. You watched as his chest rumbling with a groan before he let it go with a dirty pop.
Your cheeks grew a tone darker and he knew — he couldn’t last much longer if he kept up with it. Straining in his jeans like a teenager. So he was pulling off his shirt, hands gripping the back of his collar to rip it over his head and join the rest of your clothing. He popped the button of his jeans and slipped it down with his boxers. The sight of him all red and dirty with precum made it impossible for you to not reach for him, but he stopped you mid-motion, fingers curling around your wrist as he brought it above your head and into the mattress.
“C’mon, baby, leave everything to me,” Jongseong said, and you were way beyond rational thoughts to retort, doing whatever he wanted and allowing his fingers to curl at your skirt — at laced trim of your panties, hands almost adoring as he dragged the last clothing down over your legs before his lips were on you again, tongue pressing against yours, and still tasting like you.
You folded your legs around his waist, thighs clenching around him, squeezing him almost unconsciously as he crowded into you, hands reaching towards yours again, quickly interlocking your fingers as he held himself over and into you.
He hissed, looking down between your bodies, eyes glazed as he watched how you fit together, not being able to help but clutch at your fingers.
“You’re so pretty,” he said. His voice had dropped that teasing tone once again, sounding so genuine it made your chest ache and you were suddenly back to being desperate as you clutched back into him, fingers twisting almost painfully against each other.
“Are you sure-” he started, but he didn’t need to finish it for you to know. You already had heard the concern in his voice so you only reached for him, pressing a kiss over his mouth, his jaw, catching his birthmark with a tenderness that didn’t match the words that followed.
“Just fuck me, Park Jongseong,” you said, and you weren’t sure if he had laughed, cried, or simply huffed air past his lips, but his hips were suddenly moving with the impatience and greed he had repressed through all those months of whispered teases.
It was fast, messy — dirty slides in and out of you, the sounds of how wet he’d made you filling his bedroom and making him groan a little bit too loud.
He came when you did, as defenseless and relinquished as he could be, pulling away almost as if it broke him to let you go.
You weren’t sure when the sun had finished settling, but when Jongseong collapsed down beside you, reaching out and curling his arms around you once again, bringing you closer to him and kissing your temple, his room was already dark, the white light of street lamps illuminating him together with the movie still rolling instead.
“Curiosity ceased?” he asked.
“I am not sure. We might have to try another day for me to give you a concrete reply,” you said. “You haven’t pinned me against a wall still.”
He laughed then, a burst of sound whistling through the room.
“You are so cute,” he said. “I could eat you alive.”

Rain.
It was the first thing that hit Theo’s face when he stormed out of the door. Thick and heavy droplets that fell from the sky, marking his perfect face. They streaked down his cheeks parting into different directions like rivers. The cold sensation enveloped him as he listened to the pitter patter that flooded his ears.
He was angry. He was frustrated. He was livid. The ugly emotion bubbled within him, threatening to burst. It twisted and toiled, shrieked and screamed. It was like a monster, feeding on his anger, waiting to pounce at any second.
The fight wasn’t meant to escalate this badly. Insults were thrown and meaningless threats were made as the both of you shouted at each other.
The argument could have been solved. The solution simply lay right in front of Theo but he had refused to see it. He had refused to accept he was wrong. You hadn’t asked for much, hadn’t asked anything unreasonable yet he had lashed out. He chose to ignore what lay in front of him and blame you instead.
“I should have never accepted your pathetic excuse for a confession.”
The words had tumbled out of his mouth before he could’ve stopped them. Harsh cutting words that dug into you and twisted with malice. He saw the way his words clawed at the seams of your heart, ripping it to shreds. He watched as your face fell and broke. The once bright smile he always saw was replaced with a heart wrenching stare.
It was all too much. So he ran.
Bitterness swallowed him whole as he thought back to the moment. Festering anger turned into anguish. You had always been so full of joy. Ever since he had met you all those years ago when he watched as you got sorted and skipped to your table with glee. You were so beautiful, so kind, so pure. Your eyes would always look at him with so much adoration and love. Theo loved you more than he could imagine.
Then the fight would resurface. It overtook his honeyed memories of you like an infectious plague, tainting the sweet thoughts. They replaced your beautiful smile with a heartbroken expression. Your eyes, that he was so used to seeing filled with love, looked at him with incredulous horror. The sight haunted him.
Rain brought Theo back to the present. The thunderous clap resounded through his ears. At first, he had wanted to run far away but he only found himself able to walk so far before his feet refused to move. He stayed stuck to the ground as he felt the rain wash over him. Theo didn’t care what others thought, didn’t care if the passersby looked at him oddly.
All he cared about was you.
Theo didn’t know how long he stayed outside letting the water rush over his body. He simply stood. Time seemed to pass slowly as he tried to remind himself of your laughter and smiles. He forced himself to forget about what had happened but he couldn’t. The memories were constant, a never ending cycle that would taunt him.
The rain slowed and eventually stopped. The dull grey clouds cleared to reveal the peaceful sky as if nothing had happened.
Even though the sun beamed down on Theo he still felt the endless rivers that ran down his cheeks. He still felt the streaks of water as they rolled down his face. The tears didn’t stop as he stood there.
The streets were still damp, the scent of rain hanging in the air. Theo felt a gentle touch on his arm and he flinched, spinning around to meet your worried gaze. Your voice, soft and full of concern, broke through the haze.
“Theo, you’re soaked. You’ll catch a cold out here.”
He turned to face you, his eyes red and puffy from crying. The moment his gaze met yours, the dam broke. Sobs racked his body, and he fell into your arms, clutching you as if you were his lifeline.
“I’m sorry.” He choked out between sobs. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean any of it. I was just so angry, and I took it out on you. I was wrong, and I’m so sorry.”
You held him tighter, your touch soothing him. He continued to cry, unable to stop the tears as they continued to fall. The guilt ate him up inside, gnawed at his conscience, continuously banging on the iron bars that he kept his heart behind.
“Shh, it’s okay.” You whispered, stroking his wet hair. “It’s okay, Theo. We’ll get through this.”
Your words broke him even more. You were so kind. He didn’t deserve you. He didn’t deserve your kindness. You had always been the understanding one, the one to resolve fights, the one who would reach out and tell him it’ll be okay. Theo knew he had a problem with his emotions, he knew that he had a hard time expressing how he felt. You knew it too. He would always be grateful for the way that you still stuck by him despite everything.
“I hurt you. I said such horrible things. How can you even look at me?” He whispered against you, his voice cracking. His throat was dry and hoarse from the crying and he pulled away to look at you. His vision was blurry but he could still make out your beautiful features.
You cupped his face in your hands, wiping away the tears with your thumbs. “Because I love you, Theo. We’ve had our fights, but this…this is something we can fix. We just need to talk and understand each other.”
Theo could only watch as you smiled despite the fact tears were spilling from your eyes too. He felt the emotions whirl in his mind.
“I love you so much Y/n. I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry Y/n. I’m such a bad boyfriend. I’m so sorry. I never meant any of it. I love you so much, so so much.” He hugged your body tight, trying to grasp onto the warmth you always provided him with. “Can we - can we start over?”
You nodded, a soft smile spreading across your face. “Yes, Theo. We can start over. But first, let’s get you out of these wet clothes and somewhere warm.”
The two of you walked back to your apartment, your hand holding his as you led him inside. No words were said as you helped him dry off, grabbing new clothes so he didn’t fall sick from the rain. Each touch that you left filled his cold body with warmth. He pulled you towards him, embracing you tightly.
“Thank you.” He whispered against your hair. “Thank you for not giving up on me.”
You held him tighter, making sure that he knew that you would always be there for him, making sure that he felt all of your love and comfort.
“I would never give up on you.” You breathed out a sigh as your hands massaged his back. “We’ll get through this, just like how we got through everything else.”
The two of you stayed in silence, letting the day pass by. No words needed to be exchanged as the both of you enjoyed the comfort of each other's love. Theo knew he had issues. He knew he had problems. Yet as long as you stayed by him he knew that life wouldn’t be so bad.

drunk confession-a.hotchner

Tumblr media

a/n: omg i just started watching dharma and greg (another thomas gibson show) and it's so funny like wtf (greg is such an airhead its adorable)
summary: aaron admits some very cute things when he's drunk.
pairing: aaron hotchner x bau! reader
warnings: none
-----------------------------
The team constantly forgets that you and Aaron are together. You two don’t touch each other at all during the job. Both of you are very pda-averse and you like your own space.
That does not translate to a drunk Aaron.
-----------------------------
It had been an awful case, and you’d decided to go out with the team for a few drinks. Somehow, Penelope and Derek had gotten Aaron so drunk, that his hands were all over you and he was sporting his little-seen smile. Your co-workers had decided to take the absolute piss out of him for it, which meant you were being mocked as well.
“She’s so beautiful,” Aaron gushed to the team as he slung an arm over your shoulder.
“Thanks baby,” you grumbled over the laughing of our coworkers. You could feel Aaron’s hand on your waist slipping lower and you knew you’d have to get him out of here before he did something down-right indecent. “How about we get you home? You look tired,” you offered and he nodded his head like an overactive puppy.
After one more round of embarrassing questions, you finally get Aaron into a cab and back to your hotel. You laid him down on the bed and hurried to the bathroom to take off your makeup and get ready for bed before Aaron got up to find you.
“Aar-” You started until you felt his hands on your waist and the rest of his body leaning on your. It took a lot of strength to keep both of you upright and not on the floor but you managed.
“I wanna go to bed,” he slurred.
“Then go back to bed,” you laughed.
“With you. Only with you.”
You giggled at him. “I’ll be there in 3 minutes, go lie down-”
“NO. I wanna do everything with you for the rest of my life, I’m not going to bed on my own,” he confessed with a shy smile. His confession sobered you up quite a bit.
“Aaron, what?” Your chuckle got caught in your throat.
“I wanna be with you for the rest of my life,” he smiled, puppy-dog eyes making you weak in the knees.
“You’re drunk,” you dismissed him.
“I’m in love,” he ‘corrected’.
“You’re very, very drunk.”
“I’m very, very in love,” he chuckled, pressing kisses up your shoulder as you washed away your makeup.  “Imagine it, we’d get married in a nice church, go on our honeymoon in Italy- where you’ve always wanted to go.”
“What about Jack?” You smiled at him.
“He’d stay with Jessica for a couple weeks, I’d need some time to fuck you properly-”
“Aaron!” You chastised. Aaron became a lot more loose-tongued when he drank as well.
“What? You don’t complain,” he laughed and it made you laugh.
“You’re so drunk, and you’re going to be so embarrassed when i tell you in the morning,” you started to lead him to bed as he kept rambling on.
“And when we get back we’ll find out you’re pregnant, It’ll be a girl, of course. You’ll have no complications and then a year later we’d be pregnant again, twins this time, so we’d have to move. It’ll be two more girls, and then our last kid will be a boy but we’ll also be preoccupied with Jack’s pre-teenager hatred phase so our youngest will probably have the most troublemaker-tendencies, but neither of us will mind because he’ll be so cute,” He smiled. “We’ll get one of those big houses in the country on a bunch of land. And I’ll stay at home with the kids, and you’ll work lecturing at a college nearby and we’ll be so far away from all the horrors of the BAU that we won’t even remember what happened before.”
You didn’t even realise it, but you were tearing up thinking about this beautiful life Aaron had planned for the two of you.
“Doesn’t that sound nice?” He smiled and turned to you, his arms wrapping around your torso.
“That sounds perfect,” you whispered through tears. “Perfect Aaron,” you smiled at him and kissed his cheek.
“Good ‘cause I have the ring picked out, but don’t tell Y/n!”
“I won’t don’t worry,” you chuckled and kissed his cheek again.
You fell asleep excited to tell him all the embarrassing things he admitted, and excited about the proposal yet to come.

My dear lgbt+ kids,
I feel like advice on loneliness comes in only three flavors:
"It's all mindset, learn to embrace being alone and you'll never feel lonely!"
"Your head is lying to you, you have friends and they love you!"
"Here's a list of places you can go to hang out with people and make new friends!"
Those are usually well-meant and I'm sure there are situations where they do help someone feel better - but they're definitely not universally applicable.
The first one is even plain wrong: connection is a basic human need. You can't just "change your mindset" and turn that off, the same way you can't turn off your need for food or air or mental stimulation. Humans are group animals. We absolutely need social interactions to stay healthy and sane. It is true that some people do not need a large number of friends and are happiest with just one or two close friends, and it is also true that some people prefer to fulfill their social needs in other ways than what's traditionally defined as friendship - but that's not something you can (or should) try to train yourself to do, that's just natural differences and preferences!
The only thing you could "train" yourself to do would be to learn to ignore your social needs and bury them deep down under layers of denial... and you don't need me to explain to you why that's a very unhealthy idea. It's sad enough that so many people have to do that to not lose their minds in loneliness, we certainly don't need to celebrate an unhealthy coping skill as a "superior mindset".
The other two at least get a bit closer to the truth: the solution for your unmet need is not to kill the need, but to fulfill it... but that's easier said than done, isn't it?
After all, "Don't worry, your friends love you!" doesn't help if you have no friends. Loneliness is not always "all in your head": Maybe you moved to a new place and don't know anyone there. Or you cut off contact with all your friends after a big fight. Or you grew up neurodivergent (or got mentally ill at a young age) and had no chance to learn how to make friends at the age most kids do, and by now you have been friendless for so long you don't even know where to start.
Same with "just go to a bar and talk to some new people" or "Take a pottery class and you'll meet some interesting people there" - that's not factually wrong, but also not helpful if the reason you feel lonely is that you struggle to make friends (or even struggle to just talk to people). Which can also be part of neurodivergence or mental illness, or just be a part of your personality (shyness), or be a result of isolating circumstances (like having spent a lot of time in a closed environment, for example a long hospital stay, and now feeling unsure how to connect with people outside of that environment).
And those are just a few of the many, many possible explanations why someone may be lonely that require a more individualized approach - which is why we can’t solve loneliness with any one-size-fits-all solution.
That may be a somewhat disappointing-sounding conclusion in a letter on loneliness, so let me also tell you: hope and support are always within reach, even if it might take some time and patience to find them. The key is to remember that your feelings are valid and that you're not alone in your struggle.
First, recognize that admitting that you feel lonely, and wanting to take action based on that feeling, is a sign of strength, not weakness. You’re pretty insightful for recognizing your loneliness and super brave for wanting to reach out!
Secondly, be kind to yourself and allow yourself to take small steps. Small, actually manageable steps are crucial in any healing journey! If it’s not an option to just go to the bar or that pottery class, then it’s okay to start somewhere else. Maybe a therapist, a support group, or even online communities can be valuable “training sessions” for social connections. Even reaching out to one single person can make a significant difference over time. Your journey to finding companionship and connection might be different from someone else’s, but that doesn't make it any less valid (or achievable!).
Lastly, do consider embracing new activities that you may enjoy - but not just for the sake of meeting others. It’s important to nurture your own happiness and well-being when you’re feeling lonely. Those can be activities you can try out alone and even at home, for now! Anything that enriches your life is good. Long down the road, maybe it will lead to opportunities to connect with others, but even if it doesn’t: it’s important to incorporate new experiences into your life.
While there isn't a universal solution to loneliness, I truly believe there is a path forward for everyone. It's all about finding what works for you.
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Dad

Summary: Lewis struggles with the impending separation from his lover, Y/N, a famous Broadway singer, after her final performance, knowing their demanding careers will keep them apart.

Lewis' POV
The crowd's roar faded into a distant hum as I stood backstage, my heart thumping louder than the applause. There she was, center stage, a vision of grace and power, her voice soaring through the theater with the force of a thousand emotions. Y/N, the woman who had captured not only the hearts of millions but also mine. Tonight was her final performance on Broadway, and the bittersweet reality of that truth gnawed at me.
I leaned against the wall, my mind racing back to the night we first met. I was in New York for a Formula 1 event, and someone had insisted I see the show. "You have to," they said. "Y/N is phenomenal." They weren't wrong. Her performance that night was nothing short of magical, but it was her presence offstage that truly captivated me. We were introduced at an after-party, and from the moment our eyes met, I was hooked.
Our relationship had been a whirlwind of stolen moments and passionate nights, trying to synchronize our impossibly hectic schedules. She understood the pressures of fame and the relentless pursuit of perfection. We were kindred spirits in that way, two souls who found solace in each other's embrace amidst the chaos of our careers.
But now, as I watched her take her final bow, a knot tightened in my chest. Y/N had been offered a role in a film that would take her far from the Broadway lights and even farther from me. She deserved it, no doubt about that. Her talent was meant to be shared with the world. Yet, the selfish part of me wanted to keep her close, to hold on just a little longer.
"But how do you say goodbye when your heart still wants to hold on?" The question echoed in my mind, a constant torment since she broke the news. I knew the answer. You don't. Not really. Because saying goodbye would mean acknowledging that this chapter of our lives was ending, and I wasn't ready to face that.
I pushed myself off the wall and made my way towards her dressing room, each step heavy with the weight of impending loss. The hallway was a blur, the sounds around me muffled as if the world was urging me to focus on this moment.
When I reached her door, I paused, taking a deep breath before knocking softly. "Come in," her voice called, a melody that had become my favorite song.
I entered to find her sitting at the vanity, still in costume, her eyes meeting mine in the mirror. She smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Hey, superstar," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
"Hey, champ," she replied, turning to face me. "What did you think of the show?"
"Unbelievable, as always," I said, crossing the room to stand beside her. I took her hand, marveling at how perfectly it fit in mine. "You were incredible, Y/N. Truly."
She squeezed my hand, her gaze dropping to the floor. "Lewis, I..."
"I know," I interrupted gently. "You don't have to say it."
"But I do," she insisted, looking up at me, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "This isn't goodbye, Lewis. It can't be. We'll find a way, right?"
I wanted to promise her the world, to tell her that we would conquer the distance and the time apart. But the reality of our lives loomed large, and I couldn't bring myself to offer false hope. "We'll try," I said, my voice thick with emotion. "But no matter what happens, you'll always have my heart."
Her tears fell then, and I pulled her into my arms, holding her as tightly as I could, as if I could somehow merge our souls and keep her with me forever. The scent of her perfume, the feel of her heartbeat against mine, these were the moments I wanted to etch into my memory.
We stayed like that, wrapped in each other's embrace, until the world forced us apart. The knock on the door, the reminders of time, and the inevitability of our separate paths. She pulled back, her hand lingering on my cheek. "I love you, Lewis," she whispered.
"I love you too, Y/N," I replied, my voice barely audible over the lump in my throat. "Always."
As I walked away from her dressing room, the weight of goodbye settled heavily on my shoulders. The bustling streets of New York outside felt cold and indifferent, a stark contrast to the warmth we had shared. I passed by the theater’s entrance where a giant poster of Y/N smiled down at me, a painful reminder of what I was losing.
I wandered the city aimlessly, memories flooding my mind. The night we danced in the rain, her laughter blending with the storm’s symphony. The quiet mornings we spent together, her head resting on my chest as we talked about dreams and fears. The promises whispered in the dark, now echoing hollow in the face of an uncertain future.
When I finally returned to my hotel, I found a small envelope slipped under the door. Her handwriting was unmistakable. With trembling hands, I opened it to find a simple note: "No matter where we go, you'll always be my song."
I sat on the edge of the bed, the note clutched in my hand, tears streaming down my face. How do you say goodbye when your heart still wants to hold on? You don't. You carry a piece of each other with you, no matter where life takes you. And as the city outside continued its relentless pace, I held onto that note like a lifeline, hoping that somehow, someway, our hearts would find their way back to each other.

Absolutely begging for more of the jealousy trope you just posted. That was so good holy shit. Even if its just headcanon or something, thats such a fun snippet you posted. (If not thats ok but figured it was worth a shot since I adore your writing sjekdwkdkdk)
I can deliver that!
Soap wasn't sure when his crush on Ghost started. He didn't really have a moment where it suddenly appeared. It was a very slow build that he could see throughout his journal.
Ghost himself was a good man. Kind to animals, even if he was a bit more prickly with people. Funny. Good listener. Strong. Attractive.
Soap adored him. Everything about him. His little quirks or problems. All of them just made up Ghost.
Recently, he had been avoiding being alone with him for too long. He had some... rumors. The idea of Ghost being with someone else drove him batty. He didn't own the man, though he certainly wanted to. They had known each other long enough though that Soap knew how to get Ghost on a topic.
Soap was lamenting that it had been a while since he got laid. It was just the two of them, with Price being elsewhere in a meeting and Gaz with the recruits. it was good, meant he could test the waters with Ghost. Right now, he was trying to gather intel over the rumors. He found if he was open about something, Ghost was a little more likely to be open back.
"Try harder." Ghost gruffed. "Plenty of willing bodies around here."
Soap paused. "Got someone on the side, Lt?"
"No." Soap bit the inside of his cheek as hard as he could to stay normal over this. Yes, there were rumors but this was close to a confession.
"Keep your mask on?" He prodded.
"Don't even get undressed." Ghost sounded amused, making a startlingly direct amount of eye contact with Soap.
Soap laughed. "What? You just take your snake out of your trousers there and go at it?" He was seething. All internally of course. He went through everyone Ghost interacted with in a day to day basis. Scanned through every interaction to see who made it clear what they wanted from Ghost. God, they weren't like Soap. There was no way they appreciated it enough. Soap would.
"Pretty much."
"Not much of a romantic, are you?" What a shame. He was sure he could convince Ghost to give him the chance.
Ghost narrowed his eyes at him. Soap realized he must've hit a nerve. "No one here wants romance. Least of all with me. They want to get off and get me off and that's where it ends." He looked down at Soap's clear hard on in his pants. "And I can see you're no different. Wanted me to fuck you, Johnny, you could've just asked."
Soap can feel his cock leaking in his pants. "Yes. Please."
Ghost rolled his eyes. "Fucking slag." He got up and walked away with Soap following right on his heels.
Soap couldn't help the grin on his face. After a round or two, he would convince Ghost to do it again with him later. He was sure he could play Simon like a fiddle.
"Oh, God please, Simon." Johnny had his face buried in the pillow as Simon thrust back into him. "You're so big." He was wrong. This man was a demon of some kind. He had come here to swallow Soap's soul and replace it with his fucking cock.
"I love flattery." Simon purred, pulling him back again. Johnny came hard, body tensing so much he worried he'd snap.
"Fuck, fuck, it's so good are you even close?"
"Nope." He popped the p at the same time he thrusted in deep, grinding a little.
Soap groaned. "Don't know how much longer I can take it."
"It's okay. Lot of people can't. I can always-"
Johnny arched his back and clenched tight around him. "No. No. Come on, you want to finish in me don't you?" He didn't want him to go to anyone else. No one else.
"Jealous aren't you?" Simon whispered before leaning down and sinking his teeth into his shoulder.
Johnny came again. And he teetered on a third. Everything shifted until all he could feel was Simon. Simon. Simon. Simon.
The stretch. His fingers. God, the way he smelled.
Simon thrust in hard and came finally. His hips rolling against him until he dragged every ounce of his own pleasure from Johnny.
"I haven't had sex in two years." Ghost informed him. "You never had anyone to worry about."
Soap glared at him.
"Those rumors were fake, love. But I promise, I'm all yours." HIs mask hit the floor with his shirt following shortly after

Night fell over Jackson, soothing and quiet as it usually was. You’d think after some time, you’d get used to the stillness that often consoled others in a world full of unsettling clicks and gunfire, but you found yourself troubled with the calmness that followed once the sun went down. The change of the seasons propelled a temperature shift outside; bitter winter exchanged for the rebirth of spring, which hopefully meant the sun would stay in the sky just a little bit longer.
Your face nuzzled into the pillow beneath you, the material not yours to claim, but it wasn’t unfamiliar. Digging your nose further into the bedding, you subconsciously chased the faint scent of pinewood and gunpowder, one of the few things that eased your anxiety. It was a smell you got used to recognizing over the past few years, not that you’ve been keeping count.
Despite the warmth the sheets provided you as you rested on the left side of the bed, your body felt cold, missing a familiar set of strong arms and a welcoming chest pressing up against you. He had told you before he left for patrol that he’d be back before sundown, that was the plan anyway. But you knew better than anyone that stepping outside the protective gates of Jackson always left room for the unpredictable.
In the haze of your dreams, you faintly heard the click of the front door opening and closing, the floorboards of the stairs creaking with the ghost of muted footsteps. You stirred in bed, ears trained to pinpoint the noise, yet too stubborn to wake up entirely. A breeze entered the bedroom before you sensed something else sharing the space.
That’s when you felt the phantom touch of plush lips skimming along your hairline. If you weren’t awake then, you certainly were now.
“Joel?” A call of his name equivalent to a whimper at the sudden contact you craved. You caught the slight intake of breath and the exhale that followed.
“It’s me darlin’. Didn’t mean to wake you,” Joel spoke quietly, the peaceful baritone of his voice awakening you fully. As you sighed, you met his tired gaze with your own, bruised knuckles raising to brush your cheekbone affectionately.
“Things went okay on the patrol?” You questioned him, pleased that he was here with you in one piece rather than focusing on the fact that he came later than you’d like.
“Yeah, had to check something out with Tommy to be sure before coming back. I’m sorry honey, didn't want to make you stay up for me.”
Even if it was unintended, Joel felt guilty whenever he didn’t stick to his word. He was not much of a virtuous man, lived a large part of the past two-plus decades giving less of a shit about honesty and ethics. But when it came to you, it killed him when he couldn’t follow through on his promises, even if things weren’t within his control. The last thing Joel wanted was to upset you or make you worry, but no matter how many times he reassured you of his return, you still tried your hardest to wait for him to come back home, back to you.
“It’s okay, I’m just happy you’re here,” you blinked slowly as his voice filtered through the lagged mess of your head. Leaning your face towards his hand, you kissed the inside of his palm. “Go freshen up and come to bed; I’m cold.”
“Yes, ma’am,” he chuckled with a smile at your forgiveness, parting from you for a second and heading to the bathroom, not planning to make you wait any longer.
You watched his silhouette from where you lay on the bed, fluttering your eyes closed at the sound of running water. When the door opened again, Joel’s broad figure returned wearing a worn-down flannel and some fleece pants he had snagged long ago.
“Scoot,” he jutted his chin to gesture to the right side of the mattress, your side, suggesting to reclaim his on the left. Shifting to the right, you let him slip into the bed feet first, hauling the sheets to cover the both of you. A bulky arm wrapped around your waist and tugged you close to him, your body molding to his like a missing puzzle piece.
“Not too far now,” Joel grinned as you nestled right into his warm chest, seeking his attention and attempting to siphon more of his warmth. It takes you off guard how your nerves instantly settled once you had Joel near you again. In his arms, that was where you belonged—protected, loved, safe.
“I missed you,” you mumbled, eyes shutting to breathe in his typical musk. One of his hands cradled your lower back, thumb running circles into your skin.
“I missed you too, darlin’. Too damn much.” Joel kissed your forehead, drawing lines up and down your back with his fingertips.
His hand moved again from behind you to the front of your body, palming your stomach protectively. A smile crept up on his face as he felt your tummy under the material of the flannel you stole from him, the only thing you preferred for pajamas. The gentle curve of your belly was not yet prominent enough to be overly detectable, but he knew what you carried. Precious cargo. That’s what he called it after you both adjusted to the shock of adding to Jackson’s current population count.
“Still feelin’ sick?” Joel asked you in the room’s darkness, his eyes shifting to watch over your facial features. The moonlight illuminated the edge of your jaw and the roundness of your cheeks, and his chest ached at the thought of witnessing other growing changes over the next couple of months.
“Sometimes. It bothers me, but nothing I can’t handle.” You reassured him the best way you knew how, having to rely on Maria’s advice for all things related to childcare and Ellie being your new overly protective guard and nurse when Joel wasn’t around.
If someone had told you that you’d find yourself alive after the apocalypse in a safe community and pregnant at that, you’d consider them crazy. Yet here you were, carrying a man’s child when you least expected it, a man years older than you with memories of a reality you couldn’t experience or remember. But you didn’t mind; the end of the world didn’t leave much room for strict morals anyway.
Make the most of it. You don’t know when you’ll miss something once it’s gone.
Joel had told you that after the first few patrols you had with him once you adjusted to Jackson, growing comfortable with the stoic and quiet man who grabbed your attention everywhere he went. He shared stories of a time before the world fell apart, discussing things like watching the sunset, listening to music from artists you’ve never heard of, and sweet treats he missed tasting. Things changed after the seventh patrol together, where you saw him smile for the first time after successfully hunting some game for the town.
That night, one thing led to another. It started after some drinks, a hungry and messy kiss on your doorstep that led to clothes on the bedroom floor, and hands pawing at one another. You woke up the next morning with an arm wrapped around your waist and his nose rubbing the back of your neck.
Simply put, you haven’t left since.
“Oh, I know. Can handle a whole lot, strong woman you are.” Joel taunted you a bit, his memory fleeting momentarily and recalling the spitfire you always were with him in particular. He could never seem to tame your spunk and attitude, but he grew to love it like the rest of you.
“Mhmm, real strong, if you ask me.” You held his gaze with a gleam of mischief, bringing your body closer to his wide chest and tilting your chin upwards, silently asking for more than a cuddle.
“You tryin’ to tell me something I don’t already know?”
“I don’t know. Am I?” You were a tease, always have been, jerking Joel’s chain more than he cared to admit.
“Those hormones are messing with your head, darlin’. Got you acting feisty,” he smirked, shifting nearer to your face.
Curious hands reached up to curl through his thick, graying curls. The contrasting streaks along his temple became more noticeable as time passed, matching the graying beard you’ve come to love and adore. He hesitated to let his hair grow out initially, thinking he’d look too much like his younger brother. Much convincing later, paired with hiding the shears, you got the desired result, and now you were lucky enough to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
The kiss was velvety as it was intimate, your tongue lining his bottom lip before he groaned, granting you entrance into his mouth. You swallowed the rumble he released, drawing a path of your touch from his neck down to his lower abdomen. Antsy fingers itched to skim the waistband of the fleece that concealed him, reaching close to the hardness you felt before he seized your hand away.
“Aht aht, no. As much as I want you there, it’s bedtime.” Joel didn’t necessarily want you to stop. Hell, if it were up to him, he’d let you go to town on him however you wanted. But his energy levels were dwindling, and all he wanted to do after a long day was get some proper rest with you in his arms.
“But-”
“Sweetheart, if you let this old man sleep, I’ll wake you up to a real nice surprise in the mornin’.” It was an effortless proposition, easy to keep you at bay until the next day and enough to curb your insatiable appetite.
“Promise?” You beat your lashes at him, knowing the last thing Joel would do was deliberately not provide for your needs, even if that meant having to keep up with you physically.
“Pinkie swear.” Joel gave you another peck before letting you get comfy against his chest once more, cuddling into him as much as your growing belly would allow without being squished. You started to drift off as sleep called to you, listening to the gentle rhythm of soft beating in your ear.
“Breakfast too, Miller.” You murmured to him, peeping how he laughed in the dark with his eyes closed. The pleasant and lively sound made you smile and your heart pound.
“Oh, I’ll feed you. Don’t worry your pretty little head about that.”
The peace in your bedroom matched the serenity that fell over Jackson. Now that you had Joel wrapped around you, you didn’t mind how quiet it was. So long as you have him, you can handle anything that comes your way.

Alastor loves his mother, he protected her from his father and went on a killing spree on all horrible men.
So it only makes sense that he falls in love with single mother reader yeah? Like she killed her husband to protect her child and they both ended up in hell? And Alastor just obsessing with mother reader and her child.
I haven’t written anything in a while so this might be a little wonky but i hope i did ok
———————————————————————————
Alastor hated men that treated good women terribly.
Especially if there were children in the home.
He had lived with his mother, who put up with his father’s abuse for his sake.
Until Alastor had had enough of seeing the woman he loved abused by her husband.
Despite his mother's protests.
His mother always loved his father despite how he treated them.
Love works in mysterious ways Is what his mother use to say.
He didn’t understand what that meant…
Until he met you.
The pretty doll with a tot.
From the grapevine he learned that no one had seen a husband around or a band on your finger.
He thought it was impossible; you were a catch!
Why was a sweet thing like you without a husband?
“Would you care to stay for dinner my dear?” Alastor asked as you got up ready to go home. You had came over to give him a fruit basket, a welcome gift as you were his neighbor.
You looked at the time surprised at how long you had stayed chatting.
”Oh Al i would hate to intrude and its past this one’s bedtime” you said gesturing to the child, who had fell asleep in your arms.
Alastor hummed. He had grown quite attached to you and the little one, he had hoped you would take his invitation and stay the night.
Soon.
You gave him a soft smile and went home.
Alastor was the most eligible bachelor in town. All the ladies swooned after him, though he never cared for the attention, but it was different with you.
He went about his evening routine when the sound of shouting could be heard.
interesting.
From the window of his kitchen, he had a perfect view into your home.
A man was standing in your living room, hands moving animatedly.
He scowled. Ah that must be your estranged husband.
You had told Alastor a bit about the man you were married to and how much of a bastard he was.
You were frowning and standing between him and your child.
The man advanced and Alastor thought to go over but to his surprise you gestured for the child to go to their room and got in the man’s face.
The two of you exchanged words and the man raised his hand and hit you. You stumbled back, seemingly shock and looked at him with disbelief and something else.
You grabbed a nearby by lamp and smashed it against his head. The man went down and you jumped on top of him, slamming the lamp down over and over until you stood back up and there was blood on your clothes.
You covered your mouth, panic set in and you ran from the room.
Alastor’s lips turned into a smile and he made his way over.
He knocked at the door, basically bouncing on the balls of his feet in excitement.
You opened the door, now cleaned “A-Al? What are you-”
He feigned concern “Heard a ruckus and came to make sure you and the tot were ok” You looked back into the house and then back at him.
”We-we’re ok” you whispered.
His brows quirked, head tilting “You sure Cher?”
You bit at your lip before opening the door to let him in.
Alastor’s eyes landed on the battered body of your husband and turned to you.
You were obviously distressed “Al he-he threatened me and then hit me and I didn’t know what else to do” you approached him,  almost pleading
”Please don’t report me. Pretend you saw nothing and keep. This between us”
Alastor approached the body. He nugded it with his shoe and smiled “Oh my dear I would never.  In fact, why not leave this mess to me hm? You look worn for wear ”
You nodded and sat on your couch and had a meltdown.
You just killed a man.
Your husband.
But you had no choice.
———————————————————————————-
“So you’re telling me that you been with Smiles ever since” Angel asked shocked.
You smiled “I mean it ain’t every day a man takes care of your dead body. I knew from that moment that he was the one for me”
After the death of your husband, you and Alastor started seeing each other more intimately.
He had let you in on his true identity and the bond between the two of you had grown stronger.
He was an excellent father to your child. The little tot had even started calling him daddy.
But fate was cruel and after many years you died, ending up in Hell for the murder of your husband.
You had found Alastor and reunited, he led you to the hotel, where the two of you lived as a couple.
”She’s full of surprises I assure you” a radio-like voice said and you turned to see Alastor entering the lobby with your child in tow.
Yes. Full of surprises.
For he would have killed the man himself if you didn’t.
it was only right that you were now his

I have been very late with the latest chapter of Back in the Nightmare, but in my defense, @pixlokita drew an art, and I just absolutely needed to write fanfic regarding the art, and color it. Luckily, this is still in relation to Back in the Nightmare. It's just further along. Hope y'all enjoy! (fic below the cut)
Evan could tell Cassidy was feeling down after Charlie’s birthday party. How could he not? She’d clung so close to him before, and after Michael brought her out of the rain with his skin paler than a sheet of paper, she’d seemed almost distant.
She still listened when he spoke, but she no longer offered any opinions. Cassidy just seemed… off. There had to be something he could do to cheer her up, right?
Evan wanted to go to Fredbear’s for once because of the whole thing. Charlie said it was a great place to make friends and hang out, and with the atmosphere at home lately, it would be best if he could avoid hanging out there. Elizabeth bickered with her group on their project every night, and it always put their father in a bad mood.
Cassidy plus his father never seemed to end well, as both of them were perfectly polite to each other in a vicious way. Cassidy probably had been right about his father not wanting him to have friends after all, it seemed. Maybe that was why Mike used to scare them off?
Shaking the thought away, Evan fiddled with the strap of his backpack uncomfortably. Mike was grounded, and Lizzie was going to Susie’s house, which meant Evan was also supposed to be going home. Father didn’t like them staying unsupervised, after all.
But Evan wanted to do something nice for Cassidy. She had to run home right after school, not elaborating on why, but it did give him a perfect chance to get her a gift.
He still hesitated though. If his father found out he hadn’t gone straight home… Well, he just had to avoid getting caught then. Evan checked that Fredbear was still hidden at the bottom of his backpack, and then set off for the diner.
The prize corner always had a wide variety of things to win, but Evan had no idea where to even start on a gift for Cassidy. Yet again, he found himself hesitating.
“You have your eyes set on anything in particular?” Evan startled at the boy who’d appeared next to him. Gabe Simmons. Someone who didn’t usually talk to him.
“Uh, well, not for me. I want to get a gift for a friend.”
“Cassidy.” Gabe shot him an amused look as he pointedly looked away. “It’s not a secret that she’s one of your only friends, dude.”
“If she’s one of my only friends, why are you talking to me?”
“I’m bored. And Charlie won’t be here until later.” Gabe shrugged. “Do you have any idea what she likes?”
“Well…” Evan trailed off. What did Cassidy like? She’d seemed interested enough in his Fredbear plushie, once he’d been forcibly given it back. She’d wanted a favor regarding her hair, desperate enough to ask Michael of all people to fix it. Something like that, maybe? “I was thinking about that hair clip.”
He pointed to the row of animatronic themed hair pins and clips. “She likes Fredbear well enough.”
“That’s hardly worth the effort,” Gabe replied, wrinkling his nose. “You could get that easy.”
“I’d rather get her something she actually likes than something she wouldn’t like that’s worth more,” Evan replied quietly.
Gabe regarded him curiously. “I think I misjudged you in the past, Afton. You’re not as bad of a guy as I was expecting.”
“Thanks?”
Gabe wandered off without another word.
Weird. Still, Evan needed to get the clip fast if he wanted to get home before he got caught.
He did not succeed. Despite the fact that Evan hadn’t spotted his father once at the diner, and he’d beaten him home, somehow he still found out that Evan hadn’t come straight home.
Evan gritted his teeth as he faced his punishment, determined not to scream. Still, the ruler stung against his bare arm, and Evan knew he was going to be wearing long-sleeved shirts for at least a week or two after this.
“Behave,” his father said sternly, gesturing for Evan to leave and close the door on the way out.
“Yes Father,” Evan answered quietly before going to his room.
Tomorrow is another day.
The hair clip burned in Evan’s pocket as he looked around before school the following morning. He wanted to surprise her with it, but he never usually had luck finding her before school. Today was no different. His mouth twisted downward, but Evan did not feel tears welling up. This was expected, after all.
The morning was chilly for once, and Evan felt a bit relieved that he’d been forced to wear longer sleeves today. The wind stirred the trees at the front of the school as Evan waited for the bell to ring.
He went through his classes in somewhat of a daze, not really paying much attention to anything. It struck him briefly that he didn’t really have any classes with Cassidy. None in the morning anyway.
His arm ached as he went from class to class, despite how carefully he was trying to carry his things without jarring it. Evan carried on the only way he knew how: by thinking about anything else.
Today’s distraction topic was, unsurprisingly, Cassidy. The way she normally hung on his every word with a faint smile, the way she checked in with him constantly and gave people a hard time if they tried to mess with him. It gave him a warm feeling to think about her, grateful that she’d decided to be friends with him, even if he still suspected he was some kind of pity project.
Lizzie liked to tease him about having a crush on her, but the thought didn’t bother him so much. If he had a crush, then he had a crush. And if considering the thought that he had a crush on Cassidy made his cheeks burn, then so be it. He wouldn’t be the first boy in the world to have a crush on a girl.
Thankfully, Evan only had to wait until lunch to talk to Cassidy. She seemed just as distracted as before, and it made Evan’s heart ache. Still, he forced a smile to his face and greeted her brightly.
She smiled back, a weaker smile than his own and poked at her food with disinterest. Cassidy hardly looked at him.
“Cass, are you feeling okay?” he blurted out. He hadn’t asked before, thinking that she probably hadn’t wanted to talk about it, but after remembering how she used to smile and talk to him, he couldn’t help himself.
She looked startled by the question, dropping her fork back onto the tray. “I-“
“You’ve just seemed so occupied lately, and I know I should mind my business and wait for you to be ready to say something, but I’m worried about you.”
“Oh…” Cassidy’s eyebrows creased at that, and it was the first time she’d seemed to actually absorb his words since Charlie’s party. “I guess I… Well…” Cassidy struggled to gather her thoughts. “I’ve been having nightmares. I didn’t want to say anything because I don’t think they’re as big of a deal as yours, and I didn’t want to devalue your problems.”
“Cassidy, we’re friends. Just because I have constant problems doesn’t mean you can’t talk about yours at all. Besides, I’ve been doing better since Mikey started letting me sleep in his room again.” Evan put his hand on her arm reassuringly. “I’m here to listen, if you need to share.”
Cassidy smiled weakly. “Thanks, Ev. It’s probably stupid, but when I was at that party, I thought I heard something outside, and I went to go see. When I tried to get back in, the door was locked. And then…” Cassidy trailed off, her left hand twitching before resting on top of Evan’s. “Well, this car started coming up the alley way, and I just felt so scared, scared like I’ve never felt in my life, and I ran away from it, but it felt like the car was chasing me. So I’ve been having different dreams where I do get caught by the car, and sometimes I die, sometimes I watch other people die, and… yeah…” Cassidy squeezed his hand tightly.
Evan’s eyebrows scrunched tightly. “Have you told anyone besides me?”
“No,” Cassidy admitted. “But I don’t want to worry anyone.”
“Maybe at least tell your brother? I’m sure he’d want to know if you’re struggling to sleep or focus, Cass.”
Cassidy shrugged. “It won’t change anything. Travis would just worry. And he’s not tiny like you and your brother. If I tried to sleep in my brother’s bed with him, I would fall off the bed and hurt myself.”
“I’m not that small!” Evan protested, but he saw Cassidy’s point. Weirdly enough, it presented the perfect opportunity for him. “But, I may have an idea for you.”
“Yeah? Is it to get a ratty old Fredbear plush and carry it everywhere?” Cassidy asked skeptically. “Because I don’t think that works for everyone.”
“That implies that I do it because I want to,” Evan muttered to himself, but he shook his head at Cassidy, digging into his pocket. “No, I was thinking something a bit more your style.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, something like this.” Evan pulled the hairclip from his pocket. “I went to Fredbear’s yesterday and won it at the prize counter. Think of it as a way for me to defend you from your nightmares.”
Cassidy blinked at him, her mouth opening like she wanted to speak. Then she closed her mouth and blinked again. It took Evan a moment to realize she was speechless. And about to cry?
“It’s, um. If you don’t want it, it’s no big deal-“
“No, that’s very sweet actually,” Cassidy interrupted him, pulling her arm from under his hand. “Can you help me put it in? On the right side?”
“Oh, sure.” Evan fumbled with the hairclip, and Cassidy laughed lightly as he got to his feet to put the clip in her hair. “Like that?”
“A little further up,” Cassidy guided his hands, and Evan was sure his face was on fire. “Right there.”
Evan sighed in relief as he retracted his hands. His sleeve had slipped a little ways down his arm, and he quickly pulled it back down. Not fast enough, apparently, as Cassidy frowned.
Her eyes fixed on his sleeve, and she reached out to grab his elbow. Evan let her push his sleeve back to reveal the raw, bruised skin. “What happened here? Did-“
“I got in trouble.” Evan bit his lip and glanced away. “Mike is grounded, and if I’m not supervised, then-“
“Your dad did this?” Cassidy’s voice seemed tight, but Evan squeezed his eyes shut instead of looking at her expression.
“Yeah. But it’s better to face smaller fears than big ones, right?” Evan replied weakly.
Cassidy fell silent again. Her grip tightened on his elbow, and she let out a quiet sigh. “You’re unbelievable.”
“In a good way, though. Right?” Evan finally turned back to Cassidy. She seemed on the verge of tears as she looked at him.
The faintest smile came across her face. “Of course. Of course, Evie.”
She dragged him into a tight hug, and Evan hugged her back, unable to make himself care about how things looked to the rest of the room.
Everything was going to be just fine.

Playing the Part
Tumblr media
actor!Eddie x actress!reader
summary: you and Eddie are playing the romantic leads in a movie. The only problem? You can’t stand each other.
cw: MDNI (18+) fingering, oral (f receiving), hurt/comfort
You and Eddie stood in the middle of the street, staring at each other like nothing else had mattered. No words had been exchanged between the two of you, but just from the looks in your eyes, it was obvious what you were feeling. Eddie pulled you into his arms as rain poured down on the two of you. It pelted your skin, making it cold and wet, but all you were thinking about was the man in front of you. Even soaked from the rain, he still somehow looked so angelic. Almost as if the rain made him look even better.
The man was looking at you with so much love that it was almost palpable. His brown doe eyes bored into yours, saying so much even though no words fell from his lips. He was always so good at telling you exactly how he felt just by looking at you. How exactly he did it, you’d never know.
“So you’ll marry me?” He asked and you grinned.
“Of course I will!” You exclaimed before pulling him into a deep kiss. His arms wrapped tighter around you, deepening the kiss by tilting your head backwards so he had more access to your lips.
“Cut!” A voice yelled from behind you and the two of you broke apart instantly. You wiped your mouth the with back of your hand while Eddie sprayed some breath stay into his mouth, looking at you with nothing but disgust.
It was needless to say that the two of you despised each other. It was obvious in the way you spoke to the other and the looks you shared. As soon as the two of you had been casted as the romantic leads for the film, everyone held their breath. You had hated each other since the moment you had locked eyes and they were honestly surprised that you both had actually agreed to work together.
The fact was, neither of you actually wanted to participate with the knowledge that you’d be working together let alone having to act as a couple, but the roles were forced upon you since both of your teams decided that your feud was childish and that if you had actually spent time together, you’d get along.
What a pipe dream that was. All you two had done was argue if you weren’t doing a scene. Off screen, you were absolutely insufferable together, but on screen, it was like magic. Your relationship almost seemed believable.
It had gotten to a point, though, where the pull was threatened to be pulled if you didn’t stop with your behavior. It wasn’t too late to cast a new couple and the director never failed to remind you of that. So, you put on smiles and faked like you were the best of friends only to argue once you were behind closed doors and sure that nobody could actually hear you.
Since so many members of the crew had seen you both go into your trailer so often, they had been convinced that you had been sleeping together. Which was laughable to the two of you, until it wasn’t.
You hadn’t meant to. It was merely an accident. You were trying to get a scene right which happened to involve a kiss and one of you was the one to deepen it and one thing led to another and you both somehow ended up naked. It wasn’t your fault that there was a perfectly good couch behind you. You were just trying to test it out. Turned out it wasn’t a very good one since it had broken just as you both were coming down from your orgasms.
A one time thing quickly turned into two times which turned into three until you were fucking each other on the regular. Sure, you hated the man’s guts, but even you could admit that he knew exactly how to please you and make you feel good.
Though, it seemed that you only were able to enjoy each other’s company when Eddie was inside of you since any time you had to kiss him for a scene, it felt forced and different to how he would kiss you behind closed doors. Those kisses were always rough, but at least you could tell that he was enjoying himself.
“Everyone take a break and then we’ll go again.” You should have known that the take hadn’t been good, but you really didn’t want to go again. Not if Eddie wasn’t going to put his all into it like you had.
You fled the set a quickly as you could and made a beeline for you trailer so you could have some peace and quiet. For once, you weren’t going to let Eddie in. You needed him to know that he couldn’t just fuck you whenever he wanted and that you weren’t going to continue your arrangement any longer. It was unprofessional and only made your relationship that much more confusing.
You sat down on the bed and collapsed onto it. Why did everything have to get so complicated? Why did your feelings have to get in the way? You could have easily continued what was going on between the two of you if your feelings for him hadn’t grown so strong. Perhaps it was foolish to fall for someone that you were only sleeping with, but you couldn’t help it.
There was a knock at your door but you ignored it. You knew exactly who it was and you couldn’t see him. You couldn’t without wanting to have sex with him and you couldn’t do that anymore. It had to end.
Even after telling him to go away, Eddie continued to knock. You always opened the door immediately and he wasn’t going to leave until he got answers as to why you were acting so differently. He thought he at least deserved that.
You eventually opened the door and Eddie stepped inside, grabbing onto your waist and pressing a kiss to your lips. It was rough just like always and despite knowing that you needed to push him away, you didn’t want to. You kissed him back, your hands curling into his hair as he stepped forward until you hit the bed. He licked into your mouth as he guided you to lay down on the bed, removing the flannel that you were dressed in as he did so.
His hand moved up your shirt and massaged your breast as he slid underneath your bra, his other hand moving up your back to unclasp your bra. You rested your hand on top of his to stop him and he looked up at you, trying to figure out what was going on in your head.
“Want me to stop?” He asked and you nodded.
“Yes,” you responded. “I’m sorry.”
“No need to be sorry,” he shook his head. “You don’t owe me anything, you know that, right?” There it was again. The sweet behavior that only seemed to appear when you were in that position. Why was it so difficult to treat you that way when you weren’t alone?
“What’s going on? Are you okay?” Your silence was freaking him out. You always usually had something to say. In fact, it was hard to get you to stop talking most days.
“You can continue,” you told him and he looked at you skeptically. You had changed your mind. You needed him right then, your pussy too wet to not have remedy it in some way.
“Y/n-”
“Eddie, please. Need you.”
“Y/n, I’m not sure that-”
“Then look at my sopping wet cunt and decide for yourself.” The lust returned to your eyes and Eddie slowly unbuttoned your jeans, pulling them down to your ankles. He then removed your underwear and just as you’d said, your cunt was in fact sopping wet.
“Look at you, darling,” he said, spreading your legs wide. “Need me that bad, huh? Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you, okay? Gonna eat you so good.” With that, he removed your jeans and underwear from your legs and immediately shoved his fingers inside of you, the pure pleasure causing you to grip the blanket beneath you tight.
“Oh,” you moaned and Eddie continued to pump his fingers in and out of you, the only sounds that could be heard were the squelching of your pussy as Eddie moved his fingers in and out of you, your moans, and Eddie words of encouragement as he helped you through it.
“That’s right, angel,” he cooed. “Sound so pretty.” He kept his slow and steady pace as he moved his fingers with every intention of edging you, wanting you to beg for his mouth that you so desperately wanted on your cunt.
“Eddie, please,” you begged and he just looked at you with that mischievous grin. “If I could do it myself, I would.”
“Relax, angel. Let’s not get too impatient. “I’m gonna take care of you, remember?” With that, he removed his fingers from your cunt and replaced it with his face, diving in with no warning, causing you to gasp as he nose brushed just the right spot.
He took no time to graze it with his teeth, eliciting the most delicious sounds from your mouth. Your hands moved into his hair and you tightened your fists around the locks at his scalp, giving it a yank when he did something you particularly liked.
“So good, Eddie,” you whined. “Need more.” He swiped his tongue from your slit to your clit then began to suck on it, eating up both your beautiful moans and the way you were pulling on his hair. “Fuck,” you swore and that he took that as invitation to continue, deciding that he’d lick and suck until he had lapped up every single drop of your delectable slick.
“Sound like an angel, angel,” he said. “And you taste so fucking good. Could eat you all the time.”
Once he decided that you were ready, he stuck his tongue fully inside you and your back arched as he draped your legs over his shoulder, pulling you closer so he had more access to your pussy. He swirled it around as you pressed your legs against his head as your moans got louder and louder.
Your vision went hazy as you reached your orgasm and you reached for Eddie’s hands, giving them a squeeze as he continued to work his magic on your cunt, making sure to let you know just how much he was enjoying himself as he did so.
His tongue reached a spot that it never had before and it caused your back to arch the most that it could, your legs tightening around his head even more as you reached your peak.
“Eddie,” you practically screamed. “I love you.” The words that left your mouth caused you both to pause. You immediately sat up as Eddie removed his face from your cunt, his eyes growing just as wide as yours. He pulled your legs off of his shoulder, but stayed on the floor, resting his hands gently on your knees.
The room was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop, both of you too afraid to be the first one to speak. You hadn’t meant to say it and certainly not while Eddie had been eating you out. But the words hung between you and you couldn’t take them back. They meant too much to do that.
“You love me?” He asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
“That wasn’t exactly the way I wanted to tell you, but yes. I do.” His face lit up and he leaned forward, pressing a kiss to your lips. He smiled into it and you couldn’t help but mimic him, the kiss becoming harder to accomplish but that only made the two of you laugh.
“I love you too,” he mumbled against your lips. “So much that it hurts.” He tilted your head back to deepen the kiss just as there was a knock on your door, letting you know that it was time to go back to set.
“Guess we should go,” you said with a sigh.
“Guess we should,” he nodded, reaching for your underwear and jeans before helping you put them back on. He then helped you from the bed and you fled the trailer hand in hand to head to the set where you’d do your first scene as an official couple.

Can I request Rosekiller Stalker Evan falling in love with Businessman Barty
oh damn that's a fire prompt. I might need to do a whole one shot... also I think I might know who you are :) but thank you anon for this very good suggestion.
ROSEKILLER. STALKER EVAN, BUSINESSMAN BARTY. 2,5K words. UNRELIABLE NARRATOR. RATED MATURE?
He was always the last one to leave the building.
Evan had been sitting outside, under the heavy pouring rain, for the past three hours. With his black rain coat, he looked almost invisible in the night. The city lights were lighting the street, and reflecting their white and yellow lights in the poodles of water on the floor. Once in a while, one of the many people who were walking by were shooting him weird glances, but too many people were walking by him to care anyway. Most of them were probably wondering why a young boy like him was staying outside with this weather.
But he was ready to stay outside all night, if it meant having a chance to see him when he would exit the building to go back to his apartment, 3 on *** Street, apartment 65, 5tth floor. Barty was the head of the company, and yet, he was always leaving before his employees. Somehow, Evan hadn’t managed to get what sort of company it was exactly.
Several times, he had found himself reading things on the company’s website that were odd, and when he had compared the data of year-end financial reports, he hadn’t been able to connect the numbers. And yet Evan was very good at math. Officially, the company was helping large fortunes to manage their funds.
A rain drop ran down his forehead, making him blink. Suddenly the last light of the building, the one that had been left in Barty’s office, turned off. Evan blinked a second time. The building had big windows, glass covering the entire surface of it, allowing anyone from outside to see inside.
Evan had seen many things when watching Barty’s office, from this very spot he hadn’t moved from since he started observing Barty from afar. He had seen him sleep on his desk. He had seen him look outside, sometimes look down to him, unsuspecting. He had seen him fuck. Several times, Evan had witnessed Barty getting fucked against the window of his office — he had concluded he had a voyeurism kink, or something like that.
Every single time it had happened, Evan had wished it was him who was fucking Barty against the window, for everyone to see. He would have made him his. He had hated these moment as much as he had enjoyed it; seeing his man getting touched by other people had been a hard sight, but he hadn’t been able to not get hard. And he hadn’t been able to stop himself to think about it again and again and again every time he had been alone again.
He had gotten rid of those people anyway. So none of them would ever touch his Barty ever again.
Just thinking about it, the satisfaction it had been to kill those nasty men, barely vessels for a soul, couldn’t be qualified of men truly, Evan smiled. He would kill as many as needed, until he would be the only one for him.
That night, Barty didn’t even glance in his direction, as usual, and Evan stood up from the bench he had been sitting on for hours to follow him to his car. Sitting on this bench was hurting like crazy and he was probably leaving a mark on it with how regularly he was sitting there, but it was always worth it when he got to see Barty, in his grey suit, hair wet and slicked back — he was always lazily passing a hand through it, unaware of how crazy it drove Evan —, jaw clenched and walking with decided steps to his black car.
Barty wasn’t even minding the rain. Neither was Evan. The latter followed to the parking, and then he simply hid behind a cement column, watching him get inside his car, like he did every day.
(weeks later...)
The drawstrings on the hood of his black sweatshirt were bouncing on his chest as he walked, taking care to not walk too fast. Barty was walking in front of him, a few steps ahead, his back turned to him.
He was vulnerable. Evan knew exactly when Barty was vulnerable. He had been observing him for months now. Several times, yes, he had thought about grabbing him, and bringing him back to his own apartment — that had nothing to do with Barty’s, by the way. Evan’s place was always more or less messy, and as he never opened the windows, a musty smell was always floating in the air. He was leaving finished cups of instant noodles around, and he was never changing his sheets, postponing laundry all the time. But for Barty, he’d make an effort. He’d clean a bit. Change the sheets. Buy something else than cup noodles.
He had thought about it several times; Evan was taller than Barty, so it wouldn’t be too hard, and he didn’t seem to have any family, or any relatives close to him that could get worried for him. Oh, of course, he was the head of his company, and he spent most of his time there, but would people really make a big deal out of it? Evan had figured out his company’s business was some sort of shell company, so they wouldn’t claim too loudly that they had issues, or else press would get their nose in their dirty clothes. Maybe they’d send people, their own people, the mafia perhaps.
But Evan knew that he was better than them. He knew everything about them. He would beat them at their game, without a single doubt. He knew the emplacement and the operating hours of every single camera in the area; he knew the timetables of half of their staff. He had estimated what sort of budget they could have left undeclared that they could potentially use to search for their CEO, though this last one, it was only a personal estimation. He knew the number plates of all of their vehicles; Evan had always been good with numbers and memorising them in specific orders. He knew exactly where they wouldn’t be able to find them. So even if they tried to find Barty by themselves, it wouldn’t stop Evan.
No, really, the only reason Evan hadn’t locked Barty in his two-room apartment yet, was that he liked the chase too much. He wanted it to last. As long as possible. And he liked the thrill of knowing that Barty could slip through his fingers at any time… though he knew more about Barty than the latter knew himself. If Barty decided to disappear now, it would have to be the most sudden and organised thing he had ever done in his entire life.
He liked seeing Barty in his field, in his environment, looking hot and clueless, so far and yet so close to him. Evan was into that. He craved him more than anything; but he was taking a sick satisfaction in seeing him unaware of him lurking in his shadow, calculating every next move he would do. He was the only focus in Evan’s life; to Evan’s complete satisfaction.
People dodged Evan, who was only looking at Barty, piercing a hole in his back with his eyes, with how heavily he was staring. Barty could probably feel his gaze, at this point.
Slowly, the streets Barty was walking through, was passing by to get to his unknown destination, were getting less and less crowded, until he walked in a rather large dead end, only lit by one big tired neon light hanging on the crusty wall. It was blinking, and since the dead end was rather long and large, almost as large as the main street, Evan walked in, taking the risk to have to face Barty for following all this time.
Barty stopped. So did Evan, his steps sounding annoyingly too loud against the ground. Barty did not turn around; maybe he hadn’t heard him yet. Was it now? Was it now that Evan was taking his chance? Bringing him to his apartment? They were too far away. It was better if Evan ran away quickly before Barty could see his face.
He didn’t get to do this.
“Crouch, we have the money. Do you—” The voice stopped. A hand suddenly passed in front of Evan’s eyes, and an arm constricted his throat. The hand ended on his mouth, stopping him from screaming or saying any word. Quickly he was fully immobilised. Oh, maybe it was now. Not the now he had meant when he walked in this dead end a few seconds ago, but still. Maybe it was now the end, maybe they were going to get rid of him.
Money? An arm around his throat, holding him in place? Nobody safe was doing that on a first meeting. He was maybe going to get killed. In front of Barty. Even when he tried to grab the arm, Evan found himself completely helpless, unable to get himself out of the grip. He hadn’t even seen that person arrive. He didn’t know who it was, but they were strong. He was getting weaker as the grip was getting stronger, and he was feeling his limbs go numb.
What kind of meeting was this?
Barty slowly turned around, hands in his pockets, shoulders relaxed, and he looked at Evan for a long time before speaking, finally.
“Let go of him.”
Nobody moved. Evan’s chest raised slowly, up and down, as he refused to look away from Barty. We was a true sight, as always. Evan wouldn’t have minded dying here, but he didn’t die that day.
“Who is he?” The man behind Evan, in his back, said. “Do you know him?”
Evan glanced at Barty defiantly.
“You wouldn’t want someone to die tonight, would you? This exchange isn’t supposed to be a blood bath,” Barty shrugged, a smirk at the corner of his lips, rolling his eyes playfully.
This made the man behind Evan consider it quietly for a few seconds, before letting go of Evan, suddenly releasing him, which lead to Evan fall on the floor, blood slowly coming back to his legs and arms. He coughed, feeling pathetic.
“Good,” Barty lowly said.
Evan looked up. Barty was looking down at him, still with his little smirk. Then he took a sort of USB key from his pocket, and he added:
“You said you have the money?”
From behind him, Evan heard some clicking noises. He was too confused to consider everything around him; at this exact moment, he just wondered how he could have not predicted this, and how he hadn’t had a single clue about anything that was happening around him.
At some point Barty was handed a case, and he handed the key in return.
He nodded slightly. “Good. You can do now.”
“What are you going to do with this man?”
“I’m going to deal with him,” Barty replied, looking back down at Evan who was still catching his breath on the floor — the man’s grip was no joke —, a crooked smile on his lips. “Don’t worry about him,” He added, looking back up.
The men behind Evan left. After a minute, Barty crouched down to Evan’s level. Evan was still unable to speak, as if his vocal cords had been irremediably crushed.
“You thought I didn’t see you follow me there?” He said, the first words he ever addressed to him.
Evan opened his mouth, but no sound came out of it. He decided to give up on words, and instead he defiantly shrugged at him. It made Barty’s downward smile grow bigger.
“Thought I didn’t see you all this time?”
Evan wondered what he meant. He couldn’t think straight; it was the first time he was seeing him from this close. He was beautiful. He was leaning in Evan’s personal space as if it was natural.
Mechanically, Evan shook his head, though he didn’t even remember the question.
Barty reached for his face, patting his head, running his fingers through Evan’s locks. “Your hair was messy,” He said, sliding his finger to his jawline, tracing it, before lifting his chin. A chill ran down Evan’s spine. He was hypnotised, like he had never been hypnotised before. “I hate when they’re too brutal,” He concluded, as if it was an absolutely normal conclusion to come to. “Come here,” He said, as he stood up, holding out his hand to him.
Evan took his hand, and stood up. He felt dizzy for a second, before regaining his full composure.
He was still holding Barty’s hand, when he pushed him against the nearest wall, with the intention to make him pass out, to give himself some time to run away. He was upset. He had missed his chance; he felt like months of following him had just been thrown away. Would he be able to stay away from him? His one and only obsession? Now, everything was ruined.
Barty’s back hit the wall brutally, and he did not even wince. He smirked. Swiftly, as if he was doing this every day, he somehow got his hands out of Evan’s grip, and quickly grabbed drawstrings on the hood of his sweatshirt, to wrap them around Evan’s neck. He expertly tightened the drawstrings, making Evan strangled for the second time in very little time.
Evan heard a smirk in Barty’s voice, though he couldn’t fully see his face anymore because his hood was falling in front of his eyes. “Easy, easy, easy. Easy there,” He almost chuckled. “Do you really want to die tonight, or what?”
Sighing, Evan stopped resisting, and brought his hands, clumsily, panicked, to his throat, trying to loosen the drawstrings around his neck. Barty released him, before pushing him away a little.
Evan tried to say something; his voice, hoarse, came out of his throat like a croak. He coughed a bit again.
“I don’t want to die tonight,” He ended up saying, his mind blank. His brain was probably not getting enough blood, which lead to the most out of pocket answers; he would never have answered that if he had had his full capacity.
Barty smiled more. “Good,” And then, he held out his hand, as Evan was still holding his throat.
Evan looked up. “What?” He hoarsely replied.
“Come here.”
Hesitantly, Evan took his hand, his other hand still on his throat.
“Don’t be so shy,” Barty smirked as soon as they were holding hands. “Aren’t you my biggest fan? No need to get nervous. I know you weren’t when you kept watching me for months, or if you had felt any shame at any point, you would have stopped. Right, you would have?”
Evan almost blushed. “I didn’t feel any shame.”
They intensely stared at each other; Barty was still smirking; Evan hadn’t imagined him to be smiling so much. And not even in his wildest dreams he was imagining him smile at him like that.
Barty started walking again.
“Where are we going?” Evan asked blandly.
“To my place.”
THE END.

HTTYD/Trolls - Crossover - Branch is Adopted by Gobber au
Okay, so people liked my Branch Winchester Au, so here's another one I've been stewing on for a while.
The au starts with a five year old branch running away from another horrible foster home in the newly settled pop village. he just wants to get away, be somewhere ....or more accurately the sea of HTTYD. Little Branch (now human) is left bobbing in the stormy sea, for who knows how long, eventually washing up on the shore of Berk.
At the next Dawn, young Gobber and Stoick would be walking the stony shore, just having a moment of peace between the noises of chiefing and working in the forge, and the never ending dragon raids. Stoick would be griping to Gobber about his and Valka's fertility issues, he's not mad at Valka, he's just worried that he won't get an heir before he's at the gate of Valhalla. Then they find a tiny body washed up on the rocks. The child is clearly not from berk, his hair like coal, and skin the color of tree bark. And somehow alive.
Strange appearance or not both Stoick and Gobber rush to Gothi with the child in hand. They get some odd stares from the village, but other then that they know to wait for an announcement on the discovery. Gothi sees the child right away, and after a few hours allows Stoick and Gobber (and Valka having joined them while waiting) into her healing hut to see the child. His wounds wrapped and bundled up near her fireplace. She scribbles into the dirt that she read the child, and that he was sent by a higher power to be raised as a berkian, after his own tribe and house wronged him greatly. Valka is immediately pissed off (stoick's in love), after all the child couldn't be more then five, what tribe and family could've possible done away with a child so young. Not to mention the fact that she and stoick had been struggling to conceive, only made the whole situation worse. Seeing his wife's distress Stoick immediately begins planning to take the boy in, but Gothi stops him, saying that while the boy was sent to be raised by them, he wasn't to be Stoick's child. When asked who the child belongs too, Gothi points to Gobber.
Gobber freaks out and says he can't handle a kid. He never got married for two reasons, and he only tells people one of them, and that was because of how much drama and worry a family can have. But still he's no match for the combine wrath of Gothi and Valka, and reluctantly, takes the child back to his hut to recover. Stoick stops by that night, with some mild mead, and let's Gobber vent. He does not understand why the gods would send him a kid, Gobber hadn't had a family since he's parents died when he was a teenager, and they never had any children other then him, so Gobber was the last of his house and he was fine with that. He had his job, he had his friends, he was fine. Stoick tries to be comforting, saying the gods must have a reason, and maybe he'd like the kid. That maybe the kid was always meant to be his, but since Gobber never married they had to get creative to get his son to him. Gobber is not comforted.
Branch wakes up three days later and he is terrified. The man he's staying with has a hook for a hand, peg for a leg, and the longest mustache that he'd ever seen. He spends the day hidden underneath his covers, wanting nothing more then to wake up in the warm forests of his home.
Gobber is at a loss of what to do with the obvious terrified child in his hut. What was Gothi thinking, he couldn't handle this. Eventually he resorts to luring Branch out with food, and manages to get the kid to talk over a bowl of stew, cause while Gobber is a great smith he is also a fantastic cook. The child's name is Branch which, given the color of his skin and the green tunic he was where Gobber finds very ironic.
It's awkward those first few weeks, Gobber is basically trying to figure out how to take care of a kid. Feeding, and making sure he's getting to Gothi on time for healing checks are things he can handing. Branch overall is a much calmer wee one then most of the children in berk, definitely a thinker (not that Gobber minds they need more thinkers on berk), but it still feels like there's a wall between them.
Branch is very confused, about everything. Gobber is nice, he doesn't make Branch feel like something is wrong with him. Gothi is weird, and she's weird about wanting to see his tongue, but she's gentle. His new Aunt Valka is very nice, but her husband is big and scary (much to stoick's dismay). It takes a little while but eventually, he gets comfortable enough to ask questions, and heals enough to leave the hut. The first day that Gobber takes him to the forge, Branch is immediately fascinated by metal work, much to Gobber's joy. The wall between them began to crack, as Branch paid close attention to everything Gobber said regarding to smithing. Eventually, Branch asks why they makes so many weapons. All Gobber said is to protect themselves. From what? Well Branch got his answer after an early winter hit berk.
One Night Branch would awaken to screams and the smell of smoke. Gobber is ready to run out to the forge to do his job during the raid, only this time he has a child to think about. He has no choice but to drag the child with him through the chaos and snuff him in the forge while the smith got to work. Branch is constantly asking what's happening, and all he gets in answer is two words "Dragon raid". At some point in the night, Gobber asks Branch to grab something for him, and needed to do something other then quietly stew in panic, Branch quickly becomes Gobber's fetch boy, and was put in charge of keeping the coals warm. The raid last until sunrise, and by the end of it, he just clings to Gobber's too exhausted to be scared. Gobber carries the child home to sleep, any wall between them now broken.
For the next year, Branch would continue to help Gobber around the forge, while at the same time learning to read, and once the boy had written Norse down, Branch ate up any book put in front of him. Gobber carrying him home every night after the boy would fall asleep while studying in the forge. Sometime in Feberary, his Uncle Stoick and Aunt Valka have a baby, and once deemed safe, Gobber and Branch are the first to seeing little Hiccup, and upon seeing the little loaf of fur and baby, Branch was sold, nothing would happen to this kid. Not on his watch. Gobber even lets Branch help forge the baby sized axe that Stoick requested for his son.
Then came one of the worst nights in Branch's life. The raid had been normal at first, Branch helping out in the forge like he had been taught. Until someone screamed about the Chief's hut being destoryed. Not thinking anything but that little Hiccup was in danger, Branch runs out of the forge towards the now burning out...only to see his Aunt Valka being carried off by a stormcutter. For a moment, it's not Aunt Valka, and it's not a dragon, it's Grandma and the bergen. Branch runs back to his hut with Gobber and begins to sob into his bed. Gobber would find him there curled up underneath the blankets, just sad and scared. Some how Gobber gets his boy to open up about his grandmother and Gobber does interperate it like Grandma was carried off by a dragon and not a bergen, but the message was the same even if the details were a little fuzzy. Gobber comforts Branch saying that he'll protect the child, always. This is the night that Branch starts calling Gobber Dad.
Stoick falls off the deep end right after Valka was taken, he goes on crazy month long blind searches for her, and Gobber goes with him to stop Stoick from doing anything more stupid. At some point Gobber has enough and starts to try and talk some sense into stoick, afterall they both have lads at home, and Stoick is missing his son's infant years. It hurts, but Stoick knows that Gobber is right, all that's left of Valka is Hiccup, Stoick needs to protect him now, and he couldn't keep Gobber away from his own son too.
While his father and uncle were away, Branch was put into the care of Gothi, Hiccup was sent to say with his aunt (Valka's sister and soon to be Snotlout's mom), but Gobber and Branch were the last of their house so Gothi was the next best thing. During those months, Branch tries not to be a bother, Gothi is pleased to have a set of hands nearby so willing to help, and like with smithing Branch would pick up on healing rather quickly. He even helps her with patients once's he capable enough.
Eventually though, the searches stop and Gobber comes home for good.
Years seemed to fly by after that, Hiccup grows scrawny, and is quickly made a target by his peers for bullying. Though, the Forge becomes a safe place, Branch has six years on the other kids, and they knew they can't mess with him. The smith's son does not tolerate bullying or teasing when he's working, especially when it comes to Hiccup. He can't hate the other kids though, after all their still kids being kids. One of them he even feels bad for, little Fishlegs clearly didn't want to pick on Hiccup but also didn't want to be bullied either. Branch will throw hands if it gets physical, however.
Though there's one kid that Branch has a special hatred for. Dagur. The berserker heir, is not someone that Branch initially gets along with, especially after a swimming trip that almost ended in Dagur drowning Hiccup. A bitterness between the two only grow from there, and it bring out this cruel protective streak that Branch didn't know he had. Something is wrong with Dagur, and Branch isn't sure what, but it makes the heir dangerous. And unlike the other kids, Branch doesn't intimidate Dagur because their closer in age, and Dagur did always have more muscle.
By the time the movie rolls around, Branch is a smith in his own right at the age of 20. He and Gobber work in the together, with Hiccup joining them after picking up and interest in inventing. A hobby that Branch also enjoys, together they come up with all sorts of gadgets though Stoick almost never lets them test them. Gobber's proud of his boy, though now Branch is his own man. His son is strong, smart and rather good looking, the few suitors Branch has on Berk look at him with a decent level of desire. Sure, Branch wasn't the usual beefcake of a viking, but his figure was lean and strong, the darker hue of his skin also gave him an air of mystery. However, Branch made it very clear he wasn't interested in any of them.
In the meeting hall,
"Trolls exist! They steal your sock but only your left one what's with that?"
"Dad, trolls don't steal socks, and you only have left socks. They keep vanishing when I do the laundry."
"Because trolls keep stealing 'em!"
*sigh*
Branch is the first one to meet Toothless after Hiccup shot him down. When Hiccup is sneaking through the forge after he and toothless got tied together. Branch spots them and follows them back to the cove. There Hiccup explains and begs Branch not to tell his dad, and Branch says he won't as long as Toothless won't eat Hiccup. He helps the younger boy and dragon get unstuck, before marveling at the rigging that Hiccup made for Toothless. Branch wants in, mostly because it could mean finding a better way to keep the people in the village safe. Together the boys, learn more about dragons by studying Toothless, theories and findings Hiccup tests in the training ring.
After the disaster of a final test, Branch tries to follow Hiccup and Stoick and ends up witnessing their fight, and Stoick disowning Hiccup. This cuts deep and Branch looses all respect for the chief. He says goodbye to Hiccup before they leave, saying they'll always be brothers. Branch goes with the others to raid the nest, only to keep his father safe however, the rest of the village Chief included can go burn for all he cared.
Sadly this does mean that Branch is out of the dragon riding part of the battle, but I do plan on giving him a dragon at some point. Not sure which kind though, I'm thinking maybe a sand wraith, or dramillion, or maybe just say screw it and partner him up with Light Fury. I think they could make a fun duo, loner grouch with a very snooty over grown cat, who very protective.

It's late I'm going to split this up.

Hey hey! I was wondering if you could write a one-shot imagine about Klaus meeting a female angel who ends up being his soulmate? The angel is very skeptical at first because of all the things Klaus has done over the years and Klaus is drawn to her innocence and purity like some masochistic predator playing with its prey. In the end, Klaus becomes the overprotective loving mate he's known to be (could end in smut if you wish) Thank youuu <3

In Life and Death
The Mikaelsons had been first introduced to the Underworld and the Heavens nearly 800 years ago when demons managed to find their way on Earth again. They had caused more havoc than the entire vampire race at the time and fought the Mikaelson's to the point where Klaus truly believed they would drag him down to hell.
The only reason that they hadn't was because a group of angels had stopped them. They argued that the Mikaelsons at that point still had the chance for redemption and that they shouldn't be targeted for a lifestyle that was forced upon them.
The demons were obviously enraged with the angels ruining their time on Earth and once everyone returned home, there was a minor war over who got to go to Earth and how often. The only way to obtain some sort of peace was to agree for nobody to go to Earth. They may hear about it in the papers and occasionally watch large events however no angel nor demon would step foot or wicng on that land.
This remained so for the next 800 years until a curious angel accidentally opened the portal back up.
Y/n had always been interest in everything that was new. Her father had scolded her for it as her mother had been just the same. Unfortunately it had been curiosity that had resulted in her mothers demise and this was the main reason her father so desperately wanted her to stay quiet and obedient to the rules to ensure her safety.
Much to his dissatisfaction, she didn't follow those guidlines.
It was difficult really. She wasn't bad, nor did she misbehave. She was very well behaved and lovely, she just got distracted rather easily and drawn to pretty things. But never were her intentions to cause any sort of upset or distress.
Y/n just couldn't help herself from touching every shiny or soft thing within reach, wanting to know what it was and what it did. Coincidentally, the case which the portal was hidden inside was covered in shells and pearls. She hadn't meant to be sucked into it.
And she certainly didn't mean to waken up completely naked in the middle of the woods with only her wings to cover her exposed skin.
Her vision was impaired for couple minutes before she came to. The sky was bright and blue while her surroundings were mostly shades of brown and the occasional green.
It had been a pack of werewolves who found her and took her to their little homes within the Bayou. Jackson, as the alpha, had taken responsibility of the peculiar girl. He and Mary had helped her into some low back clothes, careful not to touch her wings. Y/n found herself unable to move or speak for hours as she adapted to the harsh change of environment. Her consciousness came and went every few minutes and occasionally her wings would stretch out making the wolves back up out of cautious and intrigue.
A few of the others wolves brought some water to her and they helped her drink it. After a while she began to fully wake. By which point the sky had deepened and darkened to an almost obsidian. Jackson and Mary had fallen to sleep and didn't notice how the angel slipped down from the bed, feeling the grainy ground against her feet as she walked on wobbly legs and held her arms out to balance herself. It was strange. Her body was pulled down much more than usual and everything felt heavy rather than feather-light.
Thankfully she still had her wings and so with a couple flutters of her feathered support and she was hovering just above the surface. What she didn't realise was that the beating of her wings against the air caused a cool breeze to brush over here company and cause them to wake.
Jackson had quickly jumped up and began to gain her attention. Y/n was startled and ended up accidentally smacking him with her wing only to then hysterically apologise and hold onto him. What was particular was that when her hand touched his skin a rush of calmness came over him. His limbs went weak and he had to push his hand against the wall beside him to keep himself up.
Once Mary woke back up she managed to get Y/n to sit back down and tell them who she was and how she got there. Both wolves had been almost awestruck with the soft, hypnotic tone of her voice. Neither of them questioned her story, it was quite clear her wings were real and from the way she looked around with wonder it was obvious everything was new. But of course there was also sadness and worry in her tone when she spoke of her father and how he much think something dreadful had happened to herb and how she needed to get home.
Mary was against Jackson's decision to go to Hayley in hopes that she or the Mikaelsons may be able to help her get back to the heavens.
Hayley had come to the Bayou after receiving a very vague text from her betrothed. She was expecting something bad to have happned from his lack of information however when a flash of white whipped past her, giggling and squealing with two young children holding onto her wings, well Hayley really didn't know what was going on.
A moment later Mary came out, huffing and puffing for breath and yelling for them to be careful not to fall.
Unfortunately, Y/n hadn't abided to this suggestion and ended up falling over a log when the little ones were chasing her in their game of 'catch the fairy', despite her persistently informing them that she was not a fairy.
Jackson came rushing out a moment later to pick Y/n up. Her knees and hands were scraped red as path of tears slipped from her pain filled eyes. Her wings wrapped around him for comfort and Hayley found herself staring completely baffled.
Jackson caught sight of Hayley as he was carrying Y/n back to the hut and smiled, calling for her to come with him. She followed eagerly and listened as he explained what had happened in a hushed whisper while Mary shook her head and cleaned up the angels grazes. Y/n was horrified at the red substance that had pooled in her palms and Mary had to insist that she wouldn't die and go to the underworld for being so irresponsible.
It took very little convincing for Hayley to ring Elijah and inform him of the situation to which he too was instantly intrigued and willing to help. He said to bring the angel to the Abattoir this evening so that they could meet her formally and reluctantly Jackson agreed and gently convinced Y/n to go. Hayley watched with a small sizzle of jealousy as Y/n clung onto Jackson with all her will as he helped her weave through the streets in a way that wouldn't let her wings be seen by pedestrians. Thankfully it was dark so it would've been more difficult to see but still alarming.
Thankfully they made it with little hassle and got to the door which was immediately opened by an impeccably dressed Elijah. His eyes beaming as he took in the beautiful creature before him. Hayley cleared her throat and Elijah quickly greeted them all politely, bringing them inside before closing the door.
They were lead to a large dinner table where a stoppy Klaus wait at the head of the table and an excited Rebekah reside next to him. Her eyes lit up as she caught glimpse of pristine white wings and sat up straight. Elijah's voice filled the room as he spoke to the girl.
"In the past we have met with people from your home, they were kind to us then and so I hope to return the favour. I am certain that we'll be able to help you find your way home however I can't confirm how long this may take. Until then, we hope to make your stay on Earth as well as we can and in doing so we have set up a room for you-" he explained however was cut off my Jackson who argued she already had somewhere to stay.
Klaus snickered in response and rose from his chair "Pretty little things like her don't want to be out in the dirt" he quipped, narrowing his eyes on the wolf before him making Y/n frown and tug on Jackson's sleeve and whisper to go back to the Bayou. Elijah glared at his brother and apologised for his behaviour before coaxing everyone into their seats.
Klaus at the head with Rebekah to his right side, Elijah beside her and Y/n to his right with Jackson beside her and Hayley beside him. Y/n had slid to the edge of her chair in an attempt to be further away from Klaus. She didn't like the aura around him, aggressive power rolled off him in waves only she could physically see and feel and on top of that she could sense the distrust between him and Jackson. Y/n trusted Jackson, he kept her safe and looked after.
Klaus however didn't like how her hands held onto Jackson's jacket and her body leaned on his. For some reason it made his glare harden and his jaw clench uncomfortably. Rebekah was the first to talk. She couldn't help but gush over having a girl, no an angel in the Abattoir. She had fallen for an angel 800 years ago and he had adored Rebekah, they had even given her a necklace hand carved by a god to prove his feelings for her. It hurt both of them when he was no longer able to return to her world however over time they both moved on and began to forget.
However she was incredibly eager to get to know Y/n and befriend her. She wanted to learn all about how the heavens had developed. So she began to chat, and chat and chat.
Until eventually Klaus groaned and had the first course brought in, hoping that his dear sister would quieten down if she were eating. His eyes glanced over to Y/n as she looked to Rebekah like a deer caught in headlights and questions were fired at her left, right and centre. "Enough Rebekah, you're scaring her" he snapped as a small plate filled with colourful foods were placed in front of her.
She started at it in confusion before timidly trying it as the rest of them ate. The taste was bizarre and she couldn't stop herself from spitting it out with a noise of disgust. Elijahs brows rose while Klaus let out a laugh and took her plate away "Not for you love?" he questioned, amused as she went a beat red and wiped her mouth.
"I'm sorry" she told him sincerely, reaching for the plate back "I can eat it" she whispered but he shook his head.
"Not if you don't like it. We'll get you something better" He argued, taking it back to the kitchen making her sink in her chair, embarrassed. Jackson rubbed her arm soothingly while Elijah, Rebekah and Hayley looked at each other in confusion of Klaus's strange behaviour.
It was quiet as he returned before they all ate their starters and glanced across at each other, Klaus in particular couldn't keep his eyes off of Y/n. His fingers tingled with anticipation to feel her wings. Her feathers looked softer than clouds and he wondered how far they could stretch out, how fast she could fly or how high.
Briefly his gaze flicked to her legs only for his brows to furrow when he noticed the bandages wrapped around her knees.
"What happened here, sweetheart?" he asked, his fingers hovering over the covered skin putting Jackson on edge.
"I was playing with the young ones and collided with a branch or a stone- was it a branch or a stone?" she questioned, turning to Jackson with a quizzical expression.
"It was a log, it's like a branch only thicker" he explained and she nodded.
Klaus couldn't help the small chuckle that left him resulting in Rebekah smacking his side.
"What were you playing?" She asked, her voice gentle as she encouraged her new friend to share the earlier events.
"Well they called it 'catch the fairy' however I am not a fairy...but they didn't really understand that so I just went with it I suppose...is that allowed? Or is that technically a lie?" her voice grew quiet and she made eye contact with Elijah who only shook his head.
"Not a lie at all. You were very kind to the children to indulge in their games." he reassured and she silently nodded.
The group then continued to eat and spoke occasionally about the possibility of Y/n staying the night at the compound so she may use the bath tub and they can have clothes altered to her so that her wings may be comfortable. Eventually she agreed but Jackson also had to stay, much to the Mikaelsons disapproval. He stayed in Hayleys bed which made Y/n's eyes wide when she whispered to Rebekah that they should not be going to bed together without a binding marriage in place.
Rebekah had helped wash Y/n's wings in the bath before having a hairdryer in each hand in an attempt to dry them while the angel squealed and squirmed at the combination of heat and noise coming at her.
Eventually she was ready for rest. Klaus had peeked into the room she was to be staying in to see her dressed in a soft halter style top and comfy pyjama bottoms. The luscious skin of her back was on display to him as well as her slowly moving wings while she let Rebekah fit her hair into a silk bonnet. A melodic giggle sent a shiver down his spine making his fits clench and eyes squeeze shut for a second.
There was an insistent pull that he felt towards her. Whether it was simply because she was new and different or because she seemed so pure and innocent.
As the next day rolled around he found himself watching as she ate her breakfast from the doorway. His eyes followed the fork all the way to her lips and back down again for every bite.
Eventually she felt his gaze and looked back at him, her eyes wide as she swallowed down her last piece. A slight smirk was visible across his face as he made his way over and took her place, rinsing it off and placing it in the dishwasher before taking her delicate hand and leading her to the outside area.
It was covered in flowers and other pretty plants. Klaus let go of her and gestured for the sky.
"It's safe for you to fly in this area, the public cannot see you so long as you don't go beyond those hedges" He told her while pointing to the surrounding greenery that acted as a barrier.
Her eyes lit up and her immediate reaction was she throw her arms around the hybrid. Klaus went stiff when he felt her touch. Something about it was so incredibly soothing that he felt as though his body was melting against her. Without meaning to his body curled around her, keeping her against him as a wave of peace washed over him.
Eventually she pulled away, bringing him back to reality as he watched her take off into the hair and spin in circles so that her wings could truly stretch. He left outside to play while he got back to his duties though he would often glance from his window to see her coaxing small animals from their burrows and surrounding herself in the natural environment.
Something stirred inside him as she sat against the soft grass with a young rabbit in her lap, squirrels birds and little rodents all sitting around her and listening as she spoke a language not even he, the original hybrid, knew.
She was a gorgeous thing, he had decided.
It was obvious that she was from the heavens, if not her looks then her delicacy. Day in and day out he had yet to see any sort of anger bubble within her. She was unbelievably sweet, annoyingly so. However whenever he tried to pull a rise from her, guilt would swallow him when tears of light formed in her beautiful round eyes and he realised he hadn't caused rage but devastation and misunderstanding. Y/n would think that he hated her and she would want to go back to the bayou so Klaus would apologise and promise she hadn't ever upset him.
Her innocence was to be cherished, he realised.
She was the polar opposite of him, she was soft and gentle. Pure and clean compared to his rough and tainted soul. Usually it was something he found to be weakness and wanted to destroy but his instincts pulled through and screamed at him to protect and possess.
So he began to brush close to her.
He found that it wasn't just him who felt the peace that her touch carried, it wasn't just him who wanted to feel it some more.
Which meant that he needed to get his scent on her.
It was far easier than he had imagined. All he had to do was tell her that he really needed a hug and she would soften in a second to have him in her hold and feeling her unconditional comfort. Her wings would hold him close and often act as a blanket of sorts.
Too many times they had woken up asleep against each other, far too comfortable to complain as he snuggled her feathers and she warmed in response to the physical touch.
Klaus had managed to convince her that sleeping beside each other was not damning and that she would still be welcomed back to heaven. He would never let her go to hell. Never.
The only problem for Klaus was that under no circumstances would she ever consider the possibility of sex if she were not bound to him.
The hybrid hadn't considered marriage since his days of being a mere human. However he could not help the yearn that his soul, body and mind held for her. It was not just a physical desire but an emotional and spiritual.
Weeks went by, Elijah, the wolves and Davina were still trying to find a way for Y/n to get home but Klaus desperately wanted her to stay forever.
He had been trying to teach her how to live in a human world. Simple things like riding a bike and playing card games. He would hide his amusement behind his smile when she got that competitive fire inside her which almost always resulted in the cards being thrown and the angel storming off only to return five minutes later apologising for expressing wrath to which he would dismiss.
"I promise you, my love, in no way is that wrath. You couldn't commit a sin if your tried to."
Y/n would smile and shyly request that maybe they wouldn't keep playing the game and perhaps move onto something else. Klaus wouldn't ever deny her wishes and so would find something knew.
At some point Jackson would come over and ruin Klaus's fun as he watches Y/n fly over to the dirty mutt and start asking a hundred questions about how he and the others were. Once Jackson finally left, Rebekah would turn up or Elijah and take Y/n's attention again. Klaus would get annoyed, jealous but he knew he couldn't get angry. He got violent when he was angry and that would definitely not sit well with the darling creature that owned his heart.
So he would wait for her to go do something before whisper arguing with his siblings to let him spend time with his girl.
"Oh? Your girl is she Nik?" Bekah teased and Klaus snapped his jaw shut.
"No I-"
"Angels don't really have genders actually" Y/n chirped as she floated back into the room and sat down between them, unaware of the tension.
"You have female anatomy?" Klaus wondered allowed and Rebekah's eyes went wide in disbelief as she spun her head to look at him and his face went red as he realised the words were spoken. Thankfully Y/n was clueless and innocent so hadn't a clue why they seemed to think it was inappropriate.
"I don't know? I have mammary glands? At least I do when on earth...they seem common amongst females..." She mumbled, brows furrowed.
"What do you mean...when you're on earth? Don't you have bre- mammary glands when you're at home in heaven?" Rebekah asked this time and Y/n nodded, a little confused.
"Beauty is different here...my quality is that I'm the embodiment of beauty, or at least that's what I'm told and so beauty is socially constructed and I would adapt to suit the times and place. Here is very different to home, there I look much different. Everyone is quite strange here." She explained, tone soft and the two originals began to realise quite how different things had become since their two worlds stopped colliding.
"Are humans pretty to you?" Bekah asked, unable to resist asking.
"I believe all things hold value and beauty" Y/n nodded vaguely, "Some human coverings are um...different though" she muttered and Klaus smiled.
"You mean clothing?" He asked and she nodded when he gestured to his henley.
"They're very tight" She whispered as though it might offend somebody and Klaus chuckled.
"I think you would have liked when women wore dresses" He smiled and she tilted her head, not really knowing what he meant as she had seen Rebekah in dresses which were tight.
"I'll show you, dear" Bekah told her, knowing the angel wouldn't have picked up on what was said. Y/n smiled and nodded, accepting Bex's hand and being pulled to the dressing room while Klaus sighed and whined that he was being left out again.
But it didn't really matter because at the end of the day she would be curled up to his chest, in his arms, in his bed whilst wearing his shirt. She was already his whether she knew it or not.
Sometimes whilst she slept he was trace the soft features of her face, wishing to feel her lips on his, to have her promise that she would always be his.
Klaus Mikaelson wanted to marry and angel.
It was both utterly unbelievable and completely understandable at the same time. Some were baffled by the idea whilst others prayed that he would and that it may finally settle piece over the factions.
He almost managed to ask her but her father got to earth just before he was able to.
The doors had flown off their hinges and everyone was flung from the centre of the room from the sheer force that Y/n's fathers wings emitted. It was clear from the pure power that bounced from the walls that he was highly ranked, a throne angel most likely.
Y/n flung herself into his chest and apologised relentlessly as he wrapped his arms and wings around her. "It's alright darling, we'll be home in no time and no harm will be able to come to you" He promised, but she shook her head.
"I wish to stay" She whispered and her fathers brows furrowed.
"It wasn't a request my sweet. You're coming home. Earth is not for us, not now and not ever again. You're very lucky you haven’t been hurt. People can be cruel. Has anyone seen your wings?" He was checking her arms and wings while he spoke.
"No-" She whined and brushed him off making his expression stern. His eyes blackened when Klaus appeared behind Y/n, trying to pull her to him but a barrier around her repelled his touch.
"Be gone devil-spawn" The man warned and Klaus growled while Y/n frowned.
"He's not a demon Dad. He's a hybrid and a very nice one." She defended and her father scoffed.
"Darling, he's manipulating you. He belongs to Lucifers magic. Not ours. He's a walking sin. You need to be home and cleaned." He stated, no room for questioning.
"No!" She cried, flapping her wings to escape his grip. "He's good!" She whimpered as she managed to get a hold of Klaus. He held her tight, unwilling to let go. Y/n's father underestimated his daughters power as she put her own force field bubble around her and Klaus, ensuring that they couldn't be separated.
The male angel went silent for a moment, gaze narrowing and realisation dawning.
"How could you?" He whispered, "You've found a mate in a vampire? A spawn of evil?" He questioned but he knew the answer and deep down Y/n had too. Rebekah watched in utter shock at the understanding of what had really happened.
"I love him" She whispered and Klaus felt his entire body melt to hers. He nuzzled into her neck, ignoring the words her father threw until Elijah was finally able to make some sort of deal.
Y/n wasn't allowed to have any sort of physical touch with and supernaturals whilst her father was in the room. She must sleep in her own bed. To start off she may only visit Earth once a month which did not last long. Heavens hierarchy made an exception for Y/n to go once a week because of her 'mate' situation. If an angel couldn't be with their mate then they would often fade away into an emptiness. Therefore on Saturdays her father would take her over and attempt to 'get to know' the originals before letting her stay on Sundays by herself so that she may have fun with Bex, Jackson and Elijah and snuggle with Niklaus.
It was strange really.
Klaus wouldn't have ever imagined himself to be the desperate one in a relationship but he was always wanting her. Always touching her and trying to kiss any part of skin he could before she would tell him that he was getting carried away and that they couldn't act upon lust.
It took far too long to get her father to speak with Klaus civilly. The angel knew that his little girl would marry the creature before him. Their souls would be bound and he would have to do everything in his power to make sure that the darkness that tainted Klaus's soul didn't damn his child's too. His daughter would not go to the Devils den just because of a bond. He would rather form a case to get Klaus into heaven than let his sweet girl go down to hell.
Klaus had to damn near beg to marry Y/n. But it was proven worth it when he was finally able to present her with a hand crafted ring. He knew that Y/n would not want a diamond, it promoted greed, envy and pride. The ring he had made was much more meaningful and spelled to keep her safe.
Sweet Y/n had been bouncing up and down, flying round the garden, tackling him to the ground and attacking him with softly little pecks to his neck and cheeks as she squealed and asked how her father ever agreed.
The ceremony was ridiculous.
Klaus had completely underestimated the amount of angels that would come in support and fascination.
Everyone, including Y/n's father was respectful and accepting of their souls entwining and applauded in celebration of their love.
That evening, after dancing for endless hours and conversing with mystical beings, Klaus finally got to lay his angel down and claim her.
His fingers unlaced her dress slowly, savouring the sight as the fabric slipped away from her skin. He gently guided her hair over her shoulder so he could see her bare back. His fingers traced the length of her spine, between her wings, before his lips followed suit, placing a series of kisses. Goosebumps arose against her skin making him smile and tentatively ran his tongue over them, revelling in the way she shivered and the gasp that she produced.
"I love you Y/n" He murmured softly as his hands encouraged her dress completely away from her figure so that he could slide his palms up her navel, moving round her so that he may cup her firm rounded breasts. A little moan left her as well as a slight sound of confusion. "It's alright darling" He whispered whilst kissing the back of her neck, "Does it feel good?" he questioned despite knowing the answer as he stroked the pads if her thumbs over her nipples.
"It does" She whimpered. With a shaky breath she turned over her shoulder to look at him as he caressed her. A smile adorned his face and a loving kiss was placed on her lips. Her eyes fell shut and she let him guide her. She was lifted and turned before delicately placed on her back before their lips detached.
Klaus's eyes lowered to the beautiful, white lace panties that hid her gorgeous core and matched her relaxed wings. His tongue darted to wet his lips when he took in the detail of the pretty frilly garter wrapped around her thigh. He looked back up to her eyes, tilting his head when he saw the nerves spread across her perfect face.
"I wasn't sure of the traditions anymore" She whispered, glancing down at herself, "Is it not right?" she questioned, her hand moving to pull the garter off but Klaus quickly took her hand in his.
"It's lovely, everything you do is without fault" He promised whilst leaning down to kiss her knee softly. "And this..." He gestured to the garter, "Is for me to take off sweetheart".
Y/n's breath got caught in her throat when his teeth captured the fabric and dragged it down her leg and away form her body entirely. He placed it on his bedside table before licking and nipping up her inner thighs, interchanging between left and right as he went. Her hands were unsure as they rested on her stomach awkwardly making Klaus smile to himself and guide her to hold onto his hair.
"You can do anything you want my love" He murmured, chuckling softly when she played with his curls.
Gentle petting changed to a pattern of tugs as his tongue pressed to her panties. The heat against her sensitive folds made her body arch and shudder before a sharp gasp left her when Klaus bit the fabric and tugged them off so his lips could press hot kisses to her glistening core. His tongue slide through her folds, tasting her addictive essence. She truly was sent from above.
A throaty groan left Klaus's throat as he encased her clit between his lips and sucked ever so gently. His hair was gripped tightly and her overwhelmed whimpers filled his senses.
"Klaus-" She whined, her body completely new to the sensations. Her wings stretched out across the bed and her legs were guided to do the same as the hybrid's mouth got to work.
His arms wrapped under her thighs, holding her hips up so his access was favourable. He licked, lapped, sucked and fucked her with his talented tongue until his face was face was dripping and tears of delight were stained down her cheeks.
Klaus panted as he wiped his mouth and chin sloppily; he lifted his head and pushed himself up into a kneeling position. His pupils dilated at the sight of his bride.
Her wings shifted to cover herself making the hybrid let out a breathy laugh as the feathers blocked his view. Her luscious hair stuck to her glowing skin as she tiredly pushed herself up and crawled toward him. Klaus smiled and wrapped his arms round her waist, under her wings and pulled her onto his lap.
Her face pressed to his chest only for her to pull away and look up at him "You're still in your suit" She whispered, her voice slightly rasped.
"You're tired." He murmured softly, smiling to her as he cupped her face and kissed her forehead sweetly. "We can continue in the morning my love"
"No..." She whined, guilt filling her. "You've been waiting for this night" She whispered, her hand rubbing his arm in a comforting gesture. Klaus wasn't sure where this restraint was coming from, in his head he would have fucked her in ten different positions by now but looking at her delicate face, her soft ethereal body and those loving, understanding eyes, he knew he would wait for the entirety of eternity for her if he had to.
"I don't want to hurt you" He uttered, stroking her face with his knuckles tentatively. "Rest" He urged but her head shook and her fingers plucked at his buttons so that she may feel the firmness of his chest beneath it and despite having restraint, he wouldn't go as far as physically stopping her.
Her touch was light against his skin as his shirt was slid down his arms and her face pressed to his abdomen, basking in his natural warmth. Her hands were nervous as they slowly undid his trousers, sweet girl didn't even know what she was looking at when he helped her remove the rest of his undergarments. Klaus knew she had no clue and couldn't help the smile on his face at her struggle.
"Don't panic darling" He encouraged. Gently he caressed her hands, slowly guiding them to his erect cock and telling her she could stop whenever she wanted to. Her hand wrapped round his thickness and he whispered weakly to her. "Thank you sweetheart" He muttered, "just gently stroke and I'll make an even bigger mess than you did" He teased breathlessly making her blush and follow his directions. Her grip slid up and down his length, her eyes lighting up when his moans and groans filled the room and built her confidence. "Good girl" He praised, his eyes drooping but he smiled when he heard her moan gently at his words. "Good girl" He repeated, a rougher edge to his voice as her hands stroked his faster and firmer.
"I want to do more" She whispered, tone bordering desperate "how do I do more?"
Klaus laughed softly before answering, "Can you use your pretty lips on me my love? No teeth, just tongue like I did" He murmured, squeezing his eyes shut when the heat of her mouth engulfed him. "Fuck, yes!" He gasped and her eyes went big.
"You mustn’t say that" She whispered and he nodded, apologising quietly while petting her head, hoping she wouldn't stop because of it. Slowly her head went back down and his went back.
His muscles tensed and relaxed as he stroked her head gently before sliding his hands across to her wings that would flex every now and then.
Her tongue was wrapped completely around his cock, sliding across his veins while her head moved up and down surprisingly enthusiastically. Klaus had never thought she would be an overly sexual creature given her being so pure for so long but in that moment he knew that they wouldn't be going a day without him being inside her.
She sucked him off beautifully, so wonderfully well that he almost had to second guess her innocence.
His fingers buried into her feathers, careful not to pull too harshly on them while his hips bucked up involuntarily. A muffled gag and strained moan left her and she looked up at him through her lashes. Klaus couldn't stop himself as he looked into her rounded eyes, his body stiffened and his lips parted as he came against the back of her mouth. Y/n made a sound of surprise and he quickly got his hands under her chin and pulled her away.
"Fuck, love I'm sorry" He whispered, gently cupping her face and grabbing the nearest blanket to wipe away the cum that painted her face. He cupped her cheek and kissed her lips. "I meant to pull out before..." He mumbled, annoyed with himself as he listened to her cough.
Once her breathing levelled she was able to look back up at him properly, he was worried for what she would say but she only smacked his arm lightly and shook her head. "Stop saying bad words!" she told him and he sighed, pulling her close and kissing her head repeatedly.
"I love you Y/n" He chuckled and she beamed back at him.
"I love you too" she smiled, squeezing his hand. Her wings stretched out before wrapping around them both, encasing their warmth and holding them together. Klaus gently rubbed his hand down her body, paying attention to her shape and gently caressing her waist up to her breasts. He squeezed them gently, leaning down to press his forehead to hers.
Her head tilted back and their lips pressed together while she relished in his touch. His hands glided down her hips and under her thighs, carefully lifting her up and lowering her down onto his lap. The head of his cock teased her entrance, slipping along her wetness. "I've got you darling" He whispered, guiding himself inside her.
Y/n whimpered softly and clenched her hands into fists causing her nails to dig into her palms. He gently gripped her hips firmly, guiding her to ride his cock whilst he thrust up to meet her body with a soft slap of their skin.
Her face pressed into his neck and her hot breath made his skin wet as she panted heavily. "Nik" She whispered and he groaned, his hips bucking abruptly faster.
"Talk to me darling" He murmured to her, stroking her skin soothingly. "Tell me what you need"
Y/n shuddered in his lap and clung onto him tightly, "I don't know" she whined, "just more"
Klaus smiled and chuckled. He kissed the top of her head before thrusting into her harder "Harder?" He offered with a smirk when she gasped, "Maybe deeper" The hybrid mumbled as he buried his cock into her so that it rubbed her cervix, "Or maybe you need it faster, hm?"
Y/n nodded and squeezed her knees against his hips. He spun her round quickly to press her winged back against the headboard so that he could thrust into her rougher. Klaus could feel his grip on her bruising her skin. A bead of sweat dripped from his forehead as he felt her warm walls squeeze him beautifully.
Their bodies moved together in a heated passion, both heavily panting.
Klaus dropped his hand down to slide his fingers over her clit. Y/n's head went back, her wings tensing and her mouth opening in a silent scream as he grunted and pounded into her as deep as physically possible. Little veins scattered under his eyes and he quickly shook them away and kissed from her jaw to her lips, absorbing her moans and swallowing them for himself.
He pulled away with a groan as he felt her body tightening significantly around him and her nails impaling his arms. Her wings flexed out and for a moment he worried they would start to flap but they fell back down as her body arched further.
"Oh sweetheart" Klaus muttered, rubbing her clit vigorously and bucking his hips quickly. "Come on darling...cum for me" He whispered, nipping her neck and licking the smooth skin to sate something inside himself.
Y/n's eyes rolled back and a heavenly sound left her as she felt her orgasm shatter through her. Her head lulled forward to lean against him and her eyes closed as his warmth spread through her. Two large wings held them together as their bodies pressed together without anymore movement.
"I love you my darling" He whispered earnestly, wrapping his arms round her waist and resting his head against hers. She smiled in his hold and sighed softly.
"I can't wait to spend eternity with you...in life and death" She uttered and he grinned.
"I'm going to worship you every night and day whether we're on earth or in the heavens or even if we ever went to-"
"Don't say it" She whined and he chuckled softly
"Forgive me, my love, it seems that I've said a few too many bad words this evening. I'll have to make it up to you" He purred and she giggled.
"You can make it up tomorrow" She murmured with a yawn and he hummed whilst gently lifting her up and carefully pulling out of her. Her skin shone with a thin layer sweat and she shifted as he laid her down amongst the sheets.
"I'm going to clean you a little in a moment but in the morning we'll bathe and ill help you with those gorgeous wings of yours" He promised with a kiss to her cheek.
"Thank you" She whispered, gazing at him with nothing but love.
As he wiped her skin clear, she thanked any and all versions of power for having her fall into the bayou that day, she thanked her father and the angels for allowing her marriage and she thanked the Mikaelsons for being the best family she could have wound up in.

genshin men and their way of apologising
Genshin men and their ways of apologising.
kaeya, diluc, childe, (alhaitham, zhongli, kaveh on pt.2) x reader (fem!reader diluc)
ps: it’s comfort/hurt, a bit angsty but with fluffy ending!! Also if you guys have triggers with cursing, this content has cursing/verbal scolding implications so please mind that before reading!
Kaeya:
“stop doing this and that..you’ll end up being a burden.” He shuts off the door and locks it. You were just trying to help him, and unfortunately, he doesn’t like it. This happens quiet a lot, where he closed off all part of himself in order to heal himself…that’s okay, at first, but what about you? You’re hurt and he kept you out just like that; is he here to wound your heart just like the other exes who grew apart from you?
And when you start to lose your patience, he can’t do nothing about it, right? He’s just there to hurt-hurt-and make you feel as if you in deserve of such a treatment. You cried, it felt weird to cry over kaeya. He has been sweet, yes, you never doubted once that his act are truly meant for you, but at what certain point did you do to make him immediately switch up? You didn’t know, you never know. He never wanted to communicate, that’s the problem.
“if you don’t want me to help you, that’s fine, just please kaeya…talk to me like i’m a human, not somebody you can use when you’re happy. I also need a set of time to heal.” You say that-an automatic reply set on your brain to confront him even if it’s not face to face. Now door to door-you just scold him and leave.
It took him a huge amount of time to heal. he knows what he has done can’t be undone. Listening to your cries become his worst fear, he can’t just stand in front of your eyes and say sorry, he knows that wouldn’t work. That enough explains how much he hates apologising; because his apologies always ended up with him crushing over the burden of his sins.
That’s why, the next day, in the morning when you woke up. Kaeya is already there beside your bedside. Folding your palm between his. His head on the floor.
“i’ve taken your words and…* he sighs before continuing. “Apologies don’t really matter if i don’t change my attitudes, so please, if you’re still willing to give me one more chance, can i have the privilege to change, at least, for you?”…he stays quiet for a while. “Lastly, i’m sorry, i know all i did these yesterday and these past few months weren’t tolerable. I understand if you would hate me for this.”..he looks up to you, his eyes are already watery. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” He hugs you and that felt so good…
A mark on your neck was left, a few peck it took for him to finally calm down. And he looks at you with a smile, even when his eyes are puffy. “I love you..thank you for still being here.”
Diluc:
Diluc came home quite late, it was unusual and it worries you, after all, since the day you married him. He had never been this late-he always come home with a huge surprise which is food…for obvious reason (he’s wants you to eat instead of cooking him a meal since he knew how exhausting it can be).
you were just about to ring up his phone-and suddenly a slam from the door was heard. You came to the first floor and..there’s diluc! “Diluc!” You grin, as always, you warmly greeted him, because it’s your husband, it’s diluc, what more reason to make you adore him?
You tried to help him get his bag and put off his jacket…but his bag was so heavy…whatever does he put inside his bag? Why is it so h— oh no! The bag suddenly hit your coffee cup and spilled the remaining coffee to the bag…now his bag is tainted with coffee and he-who saw that scene in front of him can’t even hide his raging eyes. Before one word to spit out-he gives off a long sigh-squinting his eyes.
“Why…sigh…it’s always you, you AND YOU who makes the worst mistake OVER AND OVER AGAIN! In the WORST TIMING AS WELL, CAN YOU—“ you replied, cutting off his words. “I-i’m so sorry diluc…i’ll help you with th—“ , “CAN YOU STOP CUTTING MY WORDS? Listen to me lady, it’s not about the bag or the papers, its about your presence…why helping you when you can’t even help yourself fix these problems, you’re helpless.”
He said that like a drunk man with no sanity behind his eyes, yet, this time, he’s actually sober, so sober he already pulled off that bag from your grip... He’s losing his patience and you know his words are the truth…still it hurts way too much. Why? Because it’s diluc, the one you called husband. tears fell and you don’t know what to do. It’s like your body doesn’t know how to move.
You look at his eyes, your mind went blank. You can sense his anger, but the tears never stop from your eyes. It’s like you just got hit by a truck. You try to left the living room to the bedroom upstair. At the same time diluc realise his action-you’re already up there-on the stair.
As soon as your foot step into the bedroom. You slowly loses the ability to numb the tears. You lay down on the comfy covers and then just cry. Sniffling. Without words, just cry and cry and cry. Realising that it was your mistake but..it hurts when he struck you with the truth that you’re useless in his eyes.
Diluc didn’t pay mind to pride when it comes to apologizing. Hence, when he heard the sniffling become louder in each breathe you took. He storms to the bedroom and hold your body to his embrace. Covering you from his face. Covering you from the cowardice and guilt he has to face. Securing you from his words..comforting you with his presence.
“sorry princess…don’t bother looking at my face if it means you’ll hate me…i don’t deserve the sight of your eyes…i don’t deserve anything.” He hugs you closer and strokes your hair, within each stroke, it felt like his hands have just won you again. “Thank you for helping me, it ease me a lot—that’s the word you need and i’m unable to fulfil that right..here i am, rejecting you, not acknowledging the effort you took just to wait for me.” He kisses your forehead before carrying you to sit on his lap. “but do believe that i’ll fix this mistake and beg on your knees if you need me to...” he look at your eye despite you not giving him a sight of your puffy eye.
“Anything for a second chance, for my princess.”
Childe:
you really love cooking. It’s something that nobody really knows-cause not evedybody has seen you cook or even taste the food you cook. You’re known to be secretive about everything; Even childe being your husband, only 2 of your 100 friends know-especially with the fact that topic is on your top 10 secret list.
And being in a marriage with childe means you’ll cook 24/7, which at first seems fine with you-but lately, you’ve been losing interest in cooking. It’s like..whatever you make is just a rating of ”it’s okay” for childe. It’s like he doesn’t even bother appreciating your food. So today, you’re trying to confront him…
He’s in a badmood-that’s why he doesn’t bother to try and reach out to you. Though it’ll be very thoughtful if you actually make him his comfort food right? And maybe if you did so, he would’ve complimented your cooking? Right! So you did and you’re so happy with the result! It taste perfect! So you began serving it onto the small bowl and put the food in front of him, you immediately get some spoonful of the food and put it inside his mouth-which is hot-like BURNING HOT. You know you fucked up so badly, so you get some water for him before he said “fuck!” so casually.
“W-what’s wrong..? Sorry i burned your tongue, i really am..!!! Please dr—“ he immediately cut you off. “No…i don’t want to eat dinner, the food doesn’t even taste good…” oh. “and thank you for burning my tongue as well! It certainly helps!.” He mocked you. “Now i can speak while enduring the pain! Right! That’s what you want your husband to feel, right?” He happily grins, a mockery. Childe immediately walked out of the dining room like a child.
And he scoffs silently on the hallway, even though it’s easy enough for you to listen because he talks to himself like he talks to another being. “I should’ve just searched for another person..i can’t stay with an idiot…” and that push you towards a realization that childe always have think of you as somebody who isn’t worth of his time. It’s like reality finally gives you a sign that he’s just one lucky pull you got. You didn’t cry. It gives you a numbing feeling, an empty one.
You sat on the dining table, taking out your apron, you get some bowl of the food and eat it by yourself. Because, like childe said, he wouldn’t eat dinner, so why bother waiting for somebody who can’t even appreciate you?
Eating alone is such a complex feeling, especially in a marriage. It feels lonely but peaceful. At least it can make your mind steady for whatever coming afterwards. You did feel a bit better but..the pain of his words never left you. It never did. It just makes the heart feel more numb as the seconds passed.
You sighed and…there he is, all shy and embarrassed behind the walls, he has been spying on you since 30 minutes ago…he’s guilty as charged. When you see him, you ignored him, immediately. Not wanting to share another eye contact with that man who have insulted your ways of loving him.
He follows you and hold onto your arm before you go elsewhere, who knows what will you do if his arms didn’t hold yours. Childe is embarrassed-guilt on his face and a coward on his heart. He made you wait for a good 5 minutes, he was waiting for you to say something..but instead, childe was met with cold air.
“i’m a loser for insulting your way of loving me. I’m dramatic. I’m a brat. I’m everything that you don’t want in a man.” His head can’t even meet yours. After all, your eyes are blank and it pierces his soul. “You don’t need to give me second chance. You don’t need to treat me right after what i’ve done. A bad deed is a bad deed.” With the courage of the final sentence; he hold onto your hand and kisses your fingertips. “I will win that cold heart of yours again and again, if it means i can live with you in every life to come.”

Nebraska, 1987.
“During autumn, Nebraska is colder than at home. So don’t take off your sweater.”
That was the first thing your dad said when he helped you get out of the car.
Garrett and Mike were already playing tag around the campsite. You chuckled and ran after them, following them into the woods.
That night, at the police station, as you sat beside the only sibling you had left now, you realized your dad was right. Nebraska was indeed colder than Hurricane.
November, 2000.
The past months had been rough.
With Max’s disappearance, you had no choice but to quit your job and stay home to look after Abby while Mike was at work.
After all, Mike had an accident (that he didn’t want to tell you anything about) which caused him to lose another job, which meant even more cost-cutting since he couldn’t keep one job for too long, nor get a high-paying one.
Abby had been there with him the night of the “accident” and she didn’t want to say a thing about it either.
It was driving you insane.
At least things with Aunt Jane had gotten better. But that only was because you had found her passed out in the living room the same night Mike had been injured, and she never came back to bother you and your siblings ever since.
So currently, you were struggling financially, like you always did.
Mike always got the worst of it.
The smallest portion at dinner, the cheapest clothes, the most worn-out shoes.
You lived in a perpetual state of worrying about him. He would just give you a tired smile, and say, “It’s alright.”
You knew it wasn’t.
Everything changed after Mike lost his job at that old restaurant.
Mike and Abby’s relationship had been magically fixed, or at least that’s how it felt.
She wasn’t shutting both of you out anymore, and Mike had become more calm and understanding.
There was also Vanessa, the police girl who had stayed a couple of weeks at your house. She was Abby and Mike’s friend and had also been involved in whatever happened in that old place.
Mike had let her stay in the house while recovering from whatever injury she had suffered.
She had slept on the couch. Sometimes you would go to the kitchen for water in the middle of the night, and you would find her awake, looking through the window.
Vanessa never talked much, at least not with you, she seemed to like Mike more. But you would still stay with her until she whispered goodnight and slipped under the blankets.
Sometimes, you would stay even after she had fallen asleep. You were the only one who could wake her from her nightmares after all.
Then she had moved out and you barely saw her. Sometimes she would drop Abby off from school, or Mike would invite her to dinner.
Vanessa was… fine.
It’s not that you didn’t like her.
No.
You liked her very much.
But you didn’t have time to acknowledge what that meant. Much less let her know.
Not that you were thinking of actually doing it.
After all, it seemed like everyone's life was improving, except for yours.
You still couldn’t go to college like you wanted to, since there were no babysitters around to look out for your little sister.
Mike was still jumping from job to job, getting paid barely enough to help with the mortgage and the basic groceries. And you couldn’t help with that either, since nobody wanted to hire you just for the part-time, and even if they wanted to, Mike wouldn’t approve of it.
And even worse, you couldn’t even go out to make friends, because, even if your older brother had changed, he was still as overbearing and overprotective with you.
You were sure that if you went to look at the meaning of overzealous on the library computers, his name would be the first thing to come up.
It always drove you nuts.
Even if you were young, you were already an adult. You didn’t need him to always keep an eye on you.
You understood it was just a trauma response. You really did.
You were there the day Garrett was kidnapped, after all. You recalled the horrified look on Mike’s face as they were interrogating him. His cheeks were tear-stained, his eyes red-rimmed, and he was so pale anyone could have mistaken him as a ghost.
You could remember him saying, “I just looked away for a second. I swear it was just a second,” to your parents' sorrowful faces over and over again.
Still, it didn’t mean you had to suffer such consequences. You wanted to live a normal life, as normal as you could, regardless of what had happened.
Abby sighed profoundly and shifted on her seat, frowning at her drawing.
You were in the kitchen, making dinner, and close enough to her to notice her discontent, so you pushed the salad you just finished aside and looked at her.
“What’s wrong, Abz?”
She made a face, meeting your gaze. “My friend from school invited me to have a sleepover tonight, but Mike won’t let me go.”
You frowned. When did this kid make friends at school?
And why were you just finding out about it?
“Well, uh,” you trailed off. “Did he give you a reason? Like, is he going to stay late at work tonight?”
Abby shook her head, looking back at her drawing, and put the crayon she was holding down on the table.
Just then, as if you had summoned him, Mike opened the door and stepped into the house.
Abby and you turned to look at him as he took out his jacket, and stepped out of his shoes.
He smiled at Abby, first, ruffling her hair, and looked at her drawing.
“That’s a good one,” he murmured, looking at Abby. He then turned to look at you.
“What’s with that face?” Mike asked casually.
“Abby told me something interesting,” you said, focusing on the salad again.
Mike hummed, peeking into the pots on the stove, and checked what you were cooking. “What did she say?”
You huffed, setting the salad to the side again.
“Well, first of all,” you turned to look at him. “I have just been made aware that she has a friend in school.”
Mike chuckled softly, leaving the pots alone to face you. “Ah, yes. It’s true, she has a school friend.”
You huffed, frustrated. Did neither of them feel like this was important information? After all the time Abby had struggled to make real friends?
“And also,” you continued, “her friend invited her to a sleepover, and you didn’t allow it.”
Mike sighed, already tired from the conversation. “Yes, that’s true, too.”
“So, why can’t she go?” You crossed your arms.
Mike shrugged. “It's not safe for her.”
You scoffed. “You're unbelievable. It's just a sleepover. What's the worst that could happen? Kids consuming too much sugar? She asking her friend's mom to call you because she misses her room? ”
Mike huffed, shaking his head, and tried to walk away from the conversation.
You followed him across the hall and into his room.
“Come on, Mike. What's the worst that could happen? Seriously.”
Mike sighed, turning to face you while he tossed away his tie. “I don't know – I mean, we don't know these people. God knows what strange habits–”
“Are you hearing yourself?” you said, disbelief clear in your voice. “You’re accusing people you don’t know of being,” you gestured with your hands, “weirdos, just because you’re afraid of letting Abby out of your sight!”
Mike rolled his eyes, scoffing. “I'm not afraid, I'm just being careful! It's my job as an older brother–”
“You won't have control over her all her life. You know that, right?” You argued back. “She might be a kid right now but she’ll keep on growing and things will get out of hand, Mike.”
The conversion was turning into a whole-blown argument. You knew you shouldn't press Mike's buttons further, but it was too late to care about that.
“Y/N,” he said in a warning tone. “Don't start this again.”
You scoffed, “Start what, exactly?”
“You know what. I'm not in the mood to argue.”
“You're never in the mood for anything!” You snapped at him. “All you do is work,” you continued. “Or rather, try to keep your job and watch over us like you're our bodyguard. You are going to asphyxiate us with your intensity.”
“I'm just trying to keep you two safe!”
Your voices were raised so high that Abby could probably hear the discussion from the living room.
“Keep us safe–”
“Oh, please,” he practically mocked. “You know I have reasons!”
Before you could argue back, he continued.
“Abby is a kid. She doesn’t understand the dangers she could be in, and you,” Mike met your gaze, “you think I don't notice how you look at me sometimes? Like I'm ruining your life? Like you hate me?”
You huffed, “I don't hate you! I just– I just want some space, okay?”
Mike scoffed, but you ignored him.
“I want to be able to go out at night, to have a job, and make money not only for us to have something to eat, but to buy things for myself too. I want to stop worrying so much about you!”
You took a long breath, trying to calm down.
“I want a normal life. A normal, relaxing life, Mike. Where I can make friends and go on dates without having to sneak out because you won’t agree.”
“Y/N–” he tried to interrupt.
“No!” you cut him off. “You think I don’t know who I remind you of? You think I don't know that when you look at me, you think of Garrett? You think I don’t hear when you tell Abby I look just like him?”
“That’s not true!” he shook his head, now seemingly hurt. “Look, I'm just trying to look out for you! For you and Abby. I'm your big brother–” he said, exasperated. And that was your last straw.
“We don't need you to protect us! Did you forget what happened the last time you tried to look out for one of us?”
A deafening silence followed. Mike deflated, his words dying in his mouth.
You looked at each other for a second before you realized what had been said.
“Fuck,” you exhaled. “Mike, I'm sorr–”
“Get out.”
“But–” You approached him, and tried to take his hand but he cringed, pulling away.
“Please, just…” he trailed off, not looking at you. “Just leave.”
You looked around, thinking of what to do.
Something, anything that could change the situation you were in.
But of course, there was nothing to do, at least not until Mike had calmed down.
So you left his room, looked at him one last time, and closed the door.
You stood still outside his door, letting everything sink in. You were still angry, but you also felt guilty.
Using Garrett’s kidnapping as an argument during the discussion was a low blow. If there was a hell, you were fucked.
Running your hands through your hair, you approached the living room.
Abby was still sitting at the dining table, eyes fixated on her now-finished drawing.
“Abby?” you called, softly.
She didn’t react. It was one of those moments when she felt stressed so she wouldn’t acknowledge you– or anyone, for that matter.
You sighed, took your jacket from the coat hanger, and stormed out of the house.
You walked for a while, just following the river.
After a good fifteen minutes, you stopped. It was cold, and your jacket wasn’t warm enough.
You sighed in frustration, kicking rocks into the water, and finally decided to sit on the grass.
“Was it really that serious?” You thought. After all, even if it was annoying, Mike's overprotectiveness had probably saved you from a lot of trouble.
You ripped up handfuls of grass as you stared at the water.
“Yes, it is,” you said out loud. Blaming him for Garrett’s disappearance was shitty, but you knew your anger was justified. Mike couldn’t keep being like this.
Not with you, and not with Abby, either. He needed to understand. To learn.
But how would he understand and learn if you only told him about your frustrations after bottling up and then exploding?
It wasn’t fair to him, either. Mike would just feel like you’re being antagonistic.
Grumbling, you rummaged through your jacket’s pockets. The wind had started to pick up and you needed something to warm up.
You pulled out a cigarette pack and a lighter from the front pocket of your jacket.
You huffed. Mike would kill you if he found out.
Lighting the cigarette, you took a quick drag and as you put the items away again, you felt something strange in your pocket.
Frowning, you placed the cigarette between your lips and reached into your pocket, pulling out a folded piece of paper.
Humming, you unfolded it without care, not remembering what it was.
You almost choked on the smoke.
It was a drawing from Abby.
She had given it to you a few weeks ago after you picked her up from school.
It was a drawing of you, her, Mike, and a little airplane toy. Garrett's favorite.
“God-fucking-dammit,” you said, putting the cigarette back in between your lips to avoid getting ash on the paper.
“Language,” a voice behind you said, and you jumped, turning around.
Standing there, with her blonde hair swaying slightly in the wind, was Vanessa.
“Great,” you thought.
Out of all the people you could have run into this situation, it had to be her.
You noted was wearing civilian clothes: jeans, a cheap-looking sweater, and a jacket. Her hair was also down. Very different from her usual everyday look.
“That’s bad for your lungs. You know that right?” she said, pointing to the cigarette between your lips.
You grumbled, turning to face the water again, and she took it as an invitation to sit beside you.
“I mean that,” Vanessa said, staring at you.
You took a drag and blew the smoke away from her. “I know.”
She hummed. “Does Mike know?”
You frowned, looking at your shoes while the cigarette slowly burned in your hand.
“There’s a lot of things Mike doesn’t know about me,” you answered, meeting her gaze.
You stared at each other for a moment before she spoke again. “Can I?” She said, pointing to the cig. You handed it to her, and she took a puff from the cig.
You smiled. “I thought you said it’s bad for your lungs. What changed?”
Vanessa rolled her eyes, blowing the smoke. She took another puff, then looked at you.
“Nothing has changed, it’s still bad,” and as she said it, she threw the cigarette into the water.
You gasped. “Hey, those are not cheap!”
It was her turn to smile then. “I know.”
You huffed. “Between this and Mike’s pills, I think you can be considered an environmental terrorist.”
Her smile faltered. “He told you about the pills?”
You nodded slowly, humming. “Mike tells me everything,” you said with a smile.
You paused, your mind returning to the night that he arrived limping and with several superficial wounds and scratches, and with a trembling Abby beside him.
“Almost everything,” you thought out loud.
Vanessa looked at the glistening water. “What makes you say that?”
You scoffed. “Come on. Something happened to him in that old pizzeria, and he won’t speak about it. Neither will Abby.”
You looked at her. She shifted uncomfortably under your gaze.
“And I’m assuming you won’t, either.”
She cleared her throat.
“It’s…” She paused for a moment, thinking of what to say. “It’s not that I don’t want to. It’s just something I shouldn’t be the one to tell you.”
You sighed, looking towards the water again. “Called it.”
You two stayed silent for a moment before you spoke up again. “How did you find me anyway?”
Vanessa sighed, rubbing her forehead with one hand.
“Oh,” you breathed out. “Of course.”
Mike had told her to find you.
“He's your brother, Y/N,” she said softly. “I'm sure he only wants what's best for you.”
You felt a twinge of annoyance.
"Yeah sure..." you said sarcastically, rolling your eyes. "He's always known what's best for me. Like when he convinced me to leave my job so I can stay home and be a housekeeper.”
Vanessa's brows furrowed. “He did?”
You sighed. “It's… more complicated than that, but… that's how it feels.”
A beat passed in silence.
“I know he's doing it because of Garrett,” you murmured.
“Doing what?” Vanessa asked carefully.
“This. All of this…” You sighed. “Not letting Abby hang out with her new friend, convincing me to stay home and take care of her...”
She watched you intently, waiting for you to continue.
“I can't go out at night, he's constantly barging into our rooms, I can't date anyone,” you sighed, and she seemed to understand, her expression softening.
Slowly, Vanessa reached out to you, putting her hand on your shoulder.
"I understand that Mike can be overprotective at times, I can't deny that,” she said softly. "I know it must suck not being able to go anywhere or do anything without him always checking on you..." she sighs, looking you in the eyes empathetically. "But we both know he just wants to protect you, even if he’s doing it in the wrong way. He loves you dearly.”
You avoid her gaze, your eyes focusing on the grass underneath you.
“It's worse with me.”
“Why do you say that?”
You smile bitterly. “Because apparently, I’m the only one who looks just like Garrett.”
Silence.
“I–” She began but cut herself off.
“I just wish,” you continued, “he could just try to move on. At least now he's aware it wasn't his fault, but,” you took a deep breath. “I feel like he's still stuck trying to be a protector instead of just being our brother.”
Vanessa stayed silent, and you were grateful for that. You didn’t feel like hearing fake reassurances while talking about Garrett or his disappearance.
“Every time we try to talk about it, it just turns into an argument,” you whispered
“And why's that?” Vanessa squeezed your shoulder. You felt your heart flutter at the gesture.
“I guess… because we're both too stubborn to hear each other out,” you chuckled tiredly, running your hands through your hair.
Vanessa opened her mouth, but you interrupted her.
“I fucked up today,” you turned to face her. “I kind of… blamed him for Garrett's disappearance.”
Vanessa seemed shocked by this. Then she sucked in her breath between her teeth.
“That's–”
Your expression turned bitter as you felt your face flush in shame.
“I know, you don't have to tell me.”
You hid your face in your hands. “He seemed so distraught, so hurt, I can't… I can't stop thinking about it.”
You felt your nails dig into your scalp. “I can’t stop thinking about the pain in his eyes, I can’t unsee the way he just… shrank.”
Carefully, Vanessa rested her hand on your back, and when you didn't protest, she started rubbing small, comforting circles.
You feel a knot form in your throat.
“I…” you swallowed. “I remember it. The day he disappeared.”
A pause.
“I remember it so vividly,” you huffed a self-deprecating laugh. “I sprayed almost the whole bottle of ketchup on my sweater. Mom guided me to the tent so I could change,” a shaky breath slipped from your lips, and you felt her stomach churn.
The dread, the fear you felt that day would never leave your system.
“Next thing we knew, Mike was running and yelling, desperate. You closed your eyes, the memories flooding your mind.
“Mom, Dad! Help, they took him! They took Garrett!”
You stayed with your eyes closed for a few seconds, as Vanessa kept rubbing your back reassuringly.
“Did you know I had a brother?” She began.
“Really?” You asked with surprise in your voice.
“Mhm,” you could hear her smile in her voice, “we used to be really close. He was always looking out for me.”
“What happened to him?”
Her hand stopped. You tensed up.
“He… disappeared. Many years ago. Just like Garrett.”
You pulled slightly at your hair. “I'm sorry, I shouldn't have…”
“It's okay,” she said in a solemn voice, but with a small, resigned smile on her face.
“Why are you telling me this?” You finally faced her again.
“Because you can never take your family for granted. You shouldn’t say hurtful things to each other, and if it happens, you should let it cool off and then talk about it, not run away.”
Oh, now she was scolding you.
“I didn't–” you cringed. “Mike asked me to–”
She giggled. Giggled.
“I'm not saying it only because of you. Mike needs to understand that you're an adult now, that he won't always be able to protect you.”
Your eyes lit up. “Will you help me, then? Will you talk to him?”
Vanessa shook her head. “No, Y/N. You two need to sit down, talk, and finally start listening to each other.” She gave you a small smile.
You sighed, nodding.
“Come on,” she said, standing up, shaking the dirt off her jeans, “I'll take you home.”
She extended her hand, and you took it without thinking twice.

Vanessa parked her car in front of your house, sighing softly before turning off the engine.
She looked at you, and after a few seconds, you met her gaze.
“You know,” she smiled, “I’m pretty sure you two can actually come to an agreement.”
You huffed, “That’s easier said than done.”
You pushed the car door open.
“Wait,” she said, holding onto the back of your jacket. You stayed still.
“I mean it, Y/N,” she gave you a soft look.
“Just talk to him. No yelling, not arguing,” you resisted the urge to roll your eyes, “talk. Really talk…”
You stared at each other momentarily before she let go of your jacket.
“Hear him and… make him hear you,” Vanessa added, a whisper more than anything.
You nodded, climbing out of the car, and closing the door.
She lowered the window. “Good luck, I guess,” she smiled.
You felt your heart speed up. Was this really the end of it? Would she only speak to you when Mike asked her to? So she was just being nice, right?
You swallowed. “Yeah… Well.”
You felt heat rising up your neck, reaching your cheeks. Shame.
“Thanks for the ride, by the way,” you scratched the back of your neck, trying to get rid of the sensation.
“No problem.”
You nodded, and just as you were about to push the front door open, Vanessa called your name and you practically rushed to the car window. “Yes?”
Vanessa let out a breathy laugh and you almost melted on the spot. She opened the glove compartment and took out a notebook and a pen.
She started to write something down.
“In case you and Mike keep having trouble…” She trailed off as she handed you the paper, which had a phone number written on it.
You raised your gaze to meet hers. “If it doesn’t work out, you can call me and I can give you some advice,” she grinned at you.
“And if it does?”
"Maybe we can go for a coffee, then?"
“I don’t like coffee,” you blurted out, feeling your cheeks warm up.
Vanessa's smile grew wider at your reaction and she chuckled softly. "Well, how about tea then? Or maybe we could just go for a walk instead?"
Her tone was playful and her smile was contagious, making it impossible for you to stay embarrassed for long.
You stayed silent, not sure how to respond. All you knew was that it was supposed to be cold outside at this time of the year, but you were sweating.
Vanessa shook her head, still smiling, and her playful tone turned into a sincere one. “We don’t have to if you don’t want–”
“I want to,” you interrupted her. “I do.”
She seemed to perk up.
“I’ll call,” you said, without a doubt. “I promise.”
Vanessa gave you a soft smile before turning the car on, and slowly drive out of sight.
You sighed, turning to push the door open, and to your surprise, Mike was standing in the doorway with his arms crossed, and Abby peeking at you from behind him, smiling.
He met your gaze, and against all odds, he smiled at you. “I guess we need to talk.”
You smiled at him. “Yeah,” you looked down at the small piece of paper in your hands and swallowed. “Yeah. We do.”
Mike sighed, gesturing for you to come inside.
“So you heard all of that?” You said in a weary voice, and Abby giggled.
Mike shook his head. “Maybe we should eat first, I’m about to pass out.”
Right, you still hadn’t had dinner. Your stomach grumbled.
As you followed your brother into the dining room, you had the sensation that maybe, just maybe, things would be alright.
