Trigger warning of abuse and I made the same thing in my ace attorney amino. I made a post that’s my amino account links and my ace attorney account is linked with it when you check the profile.
This shows some potential questions autism related questions my Apollo may get eventually.
And even if no one asks any of these, the answers will be there so people can understand Apollo more.

1:What do you love about Autism?
I don’t really like that I have autism
2:How did you learn you were autistic?
When I came back to the states on my 5th birthday, CPS took me to a psychiatrist when I didn’t talk and was later diagnosed with Asperger’s
3:How did people react to the diagnosis?The adults that knew always told people that I was about to interact with eventually, like my teachers, foster families, and classmates and I basically learned to tell strangers I’m autistic from that.
4:Any special interests?
I have a lot, but my main special interests are reading(usually whatever I get my hands on), manga, art, anime, music, some board games(mainly checkers and chess)astrology, animals, and some video games, mainly Nintendo(mainly Pokémon, Splatoon, Mario, Super Smash Bros., and I’m starting to consider trying Animal Crossing, Legend of Zelda, and Cooking Mama)
5:Are there any support systems to help help you?
If you mean untrained people that support me, my two best friends, Klavier Gavin and Clay Terran and I live with Klavier’s brother and my boss, Kristoph. If not, I dunno what you mean.
6:I haven’t really researched that stuff except Autism Speaks…which made me more insecure..which is why I stopped researching on autism and autism charities
7:What are your stims?
Rubbing my wrists, fiddling with my bracelet, pressing my finger on my forehead, cracking my fingers, chewing the inside of my cheeks, hair pulling, bouncing my leg when I’m sitting, hand flapping(though it’s my rare stims), I might be forgetting some.
8:Do you have any support in your family?I don’t have any that appears to be accepting except my half sister Trucy(who most likely doesn’t know)
9:Do you have a schedule? If so, what’s your current schedule?
((Though if explaining this to a person in this time line, he doesnt mention the beatings))(Majority of time)I don’t have much of a sleep schedule, before breakfast, I always clean the house, wash dishes, feed and brush Vongole, help Mr Gavin get ready for the day, getting my beating from Mr Gavin, prepare Mr Gavin’s breakfast, 2nd beating, wash dishes, clean the clothes, water Mr Gavin’s flower bed, 2 minute cold shower(Mr Gavin’s orders, shower minute limit is 4), daily texts to Clay and Klavier, 3rd beating, go to law firm for work, 4th beating, do paperwork, occasionally give law advice, follow Kristoph’s orders, 5th beating, make/pick up Mr Gavin’s lunch, 6th beating, clean law firm, close law firm for the day, run any other errands after closing(mainly other jobs like babysitting, yard work, pet walking, being a waiter, and occasional housekeeper), leave from those jobs when done, do Mr Gavin’s errands like getting groceries, come home, 7th beating, put away groceries, feed Vongole, make Mr Gavin’s dinner,(sometimes) have only meal(usually half a slice of bread), 8th beating, wash dishes, clean house, water flower bed, 9th beating, 2 minute cold shower, 10th and final scheduled beating.(There might be no meals, additional beatings and/or other wounds as punishment if necessary)
10:How do you communicate?
I’m able to talk, but I’m not good with talking to strangers. If I’m nonverbal, I text, write, and sign, butI’m not good with talking to others, except people I know very well, I’m worse with phone calls, have a lot of anxiety in general, and I sometimes go nonverbal, usually during/after a meltdown or sensory overload, and when nonverbal, I can communicate via sign language, text, or writing.
11:What’s your job/occupation and do you get help?
I’m a lawyer, but I also take part time jobs like babysitting or being a waiter and not really.
12:What is your wish and do you think it’ll happen?
Someday I hope I’ll be good enough for a decent life and realistically, no.
13:What’s something you don’t like people say about autistic people?
I hate it when people say all autistic people are stupid. I know I am stupid, but most others aren’t.
14:What’s a myth about autism you know and how do you know if it isn’t true?
Vaccines don’t cause autism. I was unable to get vaccinated until I got back to the States due to Khura’in not having many vaccines at the time I was there and lack of health insurance and was diagnosed with autism before getting vaccinated.
15:What can’t you live without?
If you mean figuratively, I don’t want to lose Clay, Klavier, and/or Trucy
16:What autistic symbol do you prefer?
I prefer the infinity symbol over the puzzle piece, dunno why, looks cleaner?
17:What’s your favorite book involving autism?
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
18:What languages do you know?
I lost count, but the languages I use most is English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, German, Greek, Borginian, and Khurainese.
19:How do you deal with meltdowns?
I…don’t have a way to deal with meltdowns, but whenever Klavier and Clay is around, they comfort me
20:What autistic person/people are you fond of?
Albert Einstein and Satoshi Tajiri (The creator of Pokémon!)
21:Is there something about autism or it’s portrayal in any you don’t understand?
I don’t know why one month is dedicated to autism. Autism doesn’t happen or gets diagnosed only in April. Actually, I don’t understand why other topics have their own months if it also happens on more than one month, like LGBTQ+ only being super well known in June. I’d like to know why.
22:What does acceptance mean to you, whether it’s about autism or anything else?
Acceptance to me means willing to learn about autism or anything else and to not insult them without getting to know them first.

The Old Hoodie - 2 sentence prompt –Thomas glared at Virgil, eyes filled with hate, and held out Virgil’s old hoodie, obviously expecting him to take it and go back to who he used to be. “I don’t trust Dark Sides.“
I Miss The King: Part 1  Part 2 -2 sentence prompt -“I miss you… I miss the King” a sigh “Apparently, it’s the same for me.”
Infinitesimal -Logan isn’t quite sure why Roman thinks he needs his help at three in the morning.
To Break A Curse: 2 sentence prompt -Logan looked at Roman, eyes dark. “I need you to really think about what you’re saying, because you’re going to hurt Virgil even more if you do not.“  
Shutting Down -Having your phone die shouldn’t be that big of a deal…right?
Anxious to Touch - Virgil ca’t be around the others without hurting them, so he has to stay away. Only Deceit won’t let him do that.

The Interview: Part 1  Part 2  Part 3  Part 4 Part 5 -A normal day at StoryTime! Inc. takes an unexpected turn when Logan goes to investigate why his coworkers have made a bet using Crofters as the prize.
Virgil’s Interview: -It’d been his dream to work for StoryTime! since he was a kid, and now finally, Virgil may be able to make it come true. Note: Virgil’s pov of Chapter 3 in The Interview.
The Olive Branch -They used to celebrate Christmas Eve without Anxiety there to ruin things. But this year Roman plans to change that.
These Black Wings -An hour ago Patton had been loved, wanted, celebrated. Now? He’s on the run for his life thanks to the large black wings that sprouted from his back.

Dance with Me -Patton’s never had a father figure to bring to his ballet class for Valentine’s Day like all the other kids before. But this year…he might.
A Midnight Conversation -All Virgil expected when he stepped out onto the balcony was to have a quiet moment to himself. Note: Virgil’s pov of ch 2 of White Lies.
Warm Fuzzies -Two Sentence Prompt: Remy thought that he didn’t deserve love, not after everything he’s done. But, when Emile walked through the door to room 127, Remy’s heart skipped an unexpected beat.
A Shadowling’s Happiness  -Two Sentence Prompt: “Where the hell are you going!?” “To the subconscious,  and you can’t stop me.”
Scales- Prologue  Chapter 1   Chapter 2   Chapter 3  Chapter 4  Chapter 5  Epilogue -Deceit hadn’t expected his absence from the Mindscape to be noticed by the others…until Logic knocked on his door.
Mother’s Day -Janus has never liked Mother’s Day.
Wanted -Remus knew one thing for sure. No one would ever want to Want him.
To The Moon - A Vague AU Prompt. -This wasn’t at all how Patton expected their wedding night to go.
The New Hire- Roman has never known his brother, Logan, to break a promise. Until now. Note: Roman’s pov of Chapter 4 in The Interview. 
Be My Dad- A Vague AU Prompt -Janus has no interest in being a parental figure to a kid, but trying to convince the universe of that is another thing entirely.
Moonshot-  Was it too much for Logan to ask to have just one date not revolve around sports talk?
The Sweater- Emile had said he was making a sweater for a friend. Only he neglected to tell Remy that this friend wasn’t exactly…well…human.
October ThirST -After seventy years of searching for his Soulblood, Virgil is highly doubtful he’ll find them tonight.
Lemon Drops -Patton just wanted to go somewhere where he wouldn’t be judged, wouldn’t disappoint…wouldn’t…screw up another relationship. (Takes place after SvS Redux)
The Path: A Promise Kept -sequel to The Path: A Tale of Trick or Treating -Trick or Treating may be cancelled this year, but that won’t stop you from keeping a Promise.
The Chaos Twins -prequel moment to The Sweater -Everyone has their hobbies, though Emile wishes his roommates’ hobbies were a little less…explosive.
On the Run -prequel moment to the Sweater -When life gives you an escape attempt, you run as fast and as far as you can to get away.
Nitemear -It’s not considered running away if you’re merely trying to find a more defensible position.
The Key is Confidence -Confidence. That was the key, his father had told him, to getting away with anything.
Among the Branches -Getting woken up at the crack of dawn by your landlord can’t be a good thing. Fractured Trust- Trust is a tender thing, easily made…and just as easily broken. Written for the Two sentence prompt -"Why don't you trust me Roman?" Patton asked tightening his grip on Roman's shirt. "P-Patton I-" Roman stuttered out fearfully.
A Mini’s Pep Talk -It shouldn’t surprise Roman, at this point, that on top of an already no good really really bad day he ends up getting attacked by another Side’s Mini-Me while looking for his own. (Takes place after SVS Redux)
The (K)nightmare -They say that the brain uses Dreams to help understand and solve problems one faces in the waking world.
Demon Comfort -Part 1  Part 2  Part 3 -Lurking under a Human’s bed should be downright dull for a Demon of Logan’s rank. And yet…he can’t help but be intrigued by his human charge.
First Contact - Things would be so much easier if only their human, Virgil, would talk to them.
Meeting Virgil (5x1) - Part 1  Part 2  Part 3 -Five times Remy tried to give Virgil a child and the one time he succeeded. A Special Delivery Prequel. 
Catch Me (If You Can) - Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 -Remy would not allow himself to be seen as needy and helpless in front of the general masses. He had an image to uphold. One of perfect health, snarky comebacks, and general sassiness. He didn’t get sick.
Beneath the Moon - Part 1  Part 2 Part 3 -After all the research he’d done, after all the signs he’d been experiencing. Logan needed someone to tell him he wasn’t crazy. And Roman…Roman had always been the one most likely to believe in the fantastical, the impossible, the…supernatural.
Hello Darkness (My Old ... Friend?) - Part 1  -Is it possible to search for something…for someone…when you don’t even remember that they’re missing?
Dance Break! -Roman suddenly jumped up, a sparkle in his eyes, as he turned, seeking out the first person he can find and holding out his hand. “Dance with me!” (Written with @kieraelieson)​
Christmas Eve -Part 1  Part 2  Part 3  Part 4  Part 5 -Of all the barriers that Janus expected to have to overcome in order to get his son a pet for Christmas, encountering his Ex, Roman, working in the pet store had never once crossed his mind.
Code: Blanket -Part 1  Part 2 -A friendship doesn’t stop just because one person decides to act like a dick. Especially when said dick is obviously in trouble.
An Unconventional Defeat -Patton knew that heroes started out young, far younger than villains ever did. But this young?
Into the Fray -It wasn’t like he shouldn’t have expected this. It seemed like any plan involving him and Virgil had a tendency to well…go astray.
No Longer Alone -Growing up in isolation away from people has been all that Virgil’s ever known. That changes today.
A Restless Christmas Eve -Even if it had been five years since he’d appeared in the real world, this still felt like it should have been a Virgil problem and not a Deceit one. He’d never had issues staying asleep before. Let alone ending up wide awake, feeling like he needed to–to–just move. Get out. Because of a stupid storm.

Happy Star Wars Month! Compiled here is a chronology of what the Kylux fandom has been through so far. This is by no means complete, and is specifically tailored for events in the USA, so it’s being provided as an open source document to share and distribute because each fan’s experience is different. We should all be so proud of our accomplishments, from art to fics to comics to toys and so much more!

2019 Megaman Valentine’s Day (Humor) Contest Results!
Apologize for the delay on this once again. Didn’t expect to be posting these results nearly a month after Valentine’s Day, but the extended deadline did help make sure we got a healthy competition this year. Thank you to all for your patience!
I’m going to start out this year’s results thread with a totally appropriate callout 4-Koma that is not technically an official humor entry from SubzeroIceSkater, even though it fit the rules. But it’s worth posting, to publicly humiliate myself anyways:

I'll take my token Akane-in-an-entry bribery any way I can get it, since nobody felt inclined to draw Mrs. Stelar’s fresh, piping hot, iced cinnabuns for their talent entry this year...Did I just type that? I mean, um...

I kid, I kid! After all, these contests aren’t about me, it’s about the characters you love and want to draw. And that’s what makes everyone’s entries unique and helps motivate you to create time after time. And I am grateful for it, whether you are a long-time participant, or the yearly new contestant.
I’ll be doing things a little different this year, because the post would be way too long if I kept everything in one. So this first post will just contain the Humor category, and I will have a second, separate post for the Talent category. Raffle prize winners will be contained in both posts, so keep an eye out after my commentary on your art, for some possible winners here. The rest will follow soon. I’ll be contacting all winners soon enough, so sit tight!

A much smaller group of entries for this category, but the zany mergers were great, all the same. I thank you all for getting as creative as you could with this concept, as it was a little more than just a mere gender swap you had to consider, when designing your combined character. Whether you won or not, know I truly enjoyed seeing all of these pics.

Comics with length and substance always seem to steal the show, and this year was no different. Joining the ranks of fenril-huayra, wintesm and so many others in recent years, I believe SubzeroIceSkater’s wonderful tale will stick with many of you, as much as it did me. As a humor piece, sure there are great sight gags and comedic lines all around, but it also has a lot of heart. You feel really bad for Arc Weldy to start out, but also feel so many emotions of compassion, friendship and love throughout. Wonderful work, and thank you for all the effort you put into this massive entry!
Also, are 21 pages not enough for you all? Well, SubzeroIceSkater also had ANOTHER 15 pages worth of ideas, alternates, and outtakes to go with this comic. 2.) @drewblossom​ - Geminette 
Nearly equally deserving in length, Drew’s comic more closely followed the Bowsette-style transformation gimmick to give Snake Man his comeuppance. The classic bait-and-switch kiss, turned on it’s head with a ‘lil Search Snake rather than a gross Toad Man, was a funny end. 
Design-wise, I really liked what you did to create Geminette’s look. Splitting his helmet crystals to the side as like dual hair broaches, and keeping the motif with the choker, armband, garter straps and chestplate, worked out nice. I can see why Snake was so easily charmed.

3.) @wimzik​ - Rollbble.EXE
If dominatrix Devil Roll wasn’t enough of a pain in Rockman’s side, I shudder to think how bad a Bubble Roll would be, puku! Or, would her devotion to him be as great (or clingy) as Bubs was with Shademan-sama? 
Taking Bubbleman’s yellow flipper feet motif, and turning it into a fish fin design, both on her feet, legs, and hair ribbon, turned out pretty neat. If anything, I’m sure this transformation gives her very kissable lips, though! XD I have to wonder what her plan is with that Roll Navi Data chip, now that the chocolate is all gone, and what it will do to Rockman?

What you talkin’ ‘bout, Wil-lis? Or Dr. WHY?!-ris, if you prefer. With that absolutely awesome wide-eyed grin, she’s hellbent on living together with Zero in a world where only Reploids exist. Being that they both have spent time piloting flying machine bodies, and have sorta possessed some form of an evil energy, it’s a rather fitting combo. Unless you are Zero, and it’s your dad and girlfriend merged into one being. Awk~waaaarrrd. 
The skull motif and spikes are subtle on Iris’ design, but fit in really well. Her bangs are just wild enough on both sides now, that it gives that Wily hair vibe, without having to give her a horrible, bushy mustache. XD

@bracedshark​ - Mettayer
This might be a terrible concept, but I’m going to type it. When a Met pops out from under it’s helmet, especially in sprite form, usually all you can see is the whites of it’s dark, beady eyes under that helmet, on it’s dark grey/black blobby round body form. With Layer, you don’t get to see her eyes under her bangs, hardly ever. So staring at Mettayer’s underboob for too long, due to her chest armor mimicking a Met helmet, all I see is a Met’s pair of closed bottom eyelids, and I’m seriously waiting for those eyes to open up and start staring back at me. Would that not be the most wrong way for Mettayer’s eyes to work?! But I can’t unsee it! Her belly button even feels like a snoring, sleeping Met’s mouth. I’ll spare everyone of me editing this art to make my point. But it’s in your head now, isn’t it?
OK, despite that awful paragraph, this is one hot Metall Mommy. Sorry, I’m starting this paragraph off pretty badly, too, I guess. ^^; Despite my interpretation of the combination, the design elements do stand out in a unique way. The fiery reddish-pink hair seems like a different choice considering the characters merged, but it plays off the red of a Met’s mouth and earpiece, and, well, fitting for Valentine’s, too! And instead, you get the Layer color scheme in the pickaxe, so it still connects visually.

@drewblossom​’s 2nd entry - Roll n’ Rock
This bonus entry from Drew flips the genders of both DLN-001 and 002. I liked Roll’s hair bow converting into more of a bow tie, and Rock getting her version of Roll’s hoodie, in a Blue Bomber color scheme. The V-Day card concept, complete with crayon-ish name writing, made for a cute entry. Hearts all around!

@supernovabee​ - Bayer
No, there won’t be any paragraph about underboob eyes for this version of a Layer transformation, as supernovabee has merged her with Bass. Bayer loves belting out her hard and heavy siren song to woo prospective love interests during karaoke night. 
Keeping Layer’s purple hair here actually kinda still keeps a Treble Boost feel, that the color scheme fits seamlessly, to go along with the more obvious Layer armor design pieces.

This is where I have truly tried too hard on colours but I'm really warming up to it. (Oh nu is my icon that old- i'll get a new one soon I promise)

Please just take a moment, if you're someone who is an artist and is on a journey, to compare this piece with some of the earlier ones in this post. This improvement wasn't completely random. It started with looking for stylistic changes in the way I drew- in my case, really exaggerating the flowiness of my strokes and sharp points (messing around with a grittier brush, helped me a lot too, if you're someone who sticks with soft brushes or mechanical pencils, I couldn't recommend trying to use a textured brush or irl charcoal to get a grasp on the type of mood you want to evoke). At some stage it became a love story with color too, but colour takes time and lots of adjustment, which is why you won't see much of it in my blog.

This is where I really start pushing the exaggeration on Mr. G, but only to get a feel for him. He evolved from a chunky nosed, physically imposing figure with a laughable quantity of gold, to something more desperate and dependant on money, something lean and mean with a nose that could poke an eye out. And here, most prominent is the shape of his lips, which had grown more prominent than before and very good for emphasizing his frown (and hell to work with when trying for his dimpled smile).

I drew this for an rp starter since words couldn't describe what was in my head. I think it's a fine example of my adoration for patterns- but not just patterns, the idea of luxury beyond compare. It's prominent in my blog but only because I have the brain of a magpie and am constantly like ‘ooo shiny’. But really, I drew what I liked, so I improved. Find something you like drawing if you haven't yet. It can be skulls, it can be leaves, feathers, find your motifs and everything will honestly follow along.

Something I can point out now is that while I think my colours work (honestly i was making use of patterns to distract you all at this stage- before I returned from my hiatus, I'd been rejected in an interview for an animation course and the key point my interviewer made was that my sense of colour was jarring, so I really was sensitive over it but seeking out improvement), what I would change is that adding a clear light source and allowing an atmosphere (by adjusting the main figures’ hues slightly to match the background) to emerge in my art would make it a lot better. And I start to grasp at this knowledge.

Here I'm really just feeling the colours, Shiv's home is easy- everything is luxurious but at once welcoming (or at the very least, pampering), Sridevi's home on the other hand was shown to be neater and almost less personal, there isn't much immersion allowed in her place but in Shiv's..oh man.

As you can see, activity has been dwindling what with rigorous college days and having moved to a new city. It should pick up eventually, but let me close this off with some new art.

Do I have something to say about this piece? Yes, I do! The point of view is Shiv's, thus the warm colours and the way he blends into the background. The main figure here is not himself or his 2nd player, but the vibrant peacocks, that exist in a shade of blue too vibrant to be real. In between the two sentient figures, is our young Mr. Gold, clearly he has the favour of these birds but he doesn't seem very affected by them- unlike the jealous Shiv. He's the dullest colour present and he wears the blandest clothing, the matters of peacocks (be they blue or orange) do not apply to him and he is at once alienated.

At Paphos Paul casts blindness on a sorcerer and the chief deputy believes. At Antioch [Pisidia] they preach in the synagogue. Paul does a good Old Testament survey and mentions ‘Saul from the tribe of Benjamin’ as being part of Gods plan. I always wondered if Paul saw himself in this image [Saul from Benjamin]. Jesus did tell Ananias that Paul was a chosen vessel to bear his name. Notice also that Paul’s message saw the promise to David in Psalms ‘the sure mercies of David’ as being fulfilled thru Christ’s resurrection. The theme of the message was not ‘Jesus rule is delayed’ [dispensational teaching] but that thru Jesus the promises to the fathers have come to fruition. While it is true that the Jewish hearers will reject their Messiah as a people, yet this did not mean that the Kingdom was delayed or that the ‘church age’ was a parenthetical time until the ‘Kingdom age’ reconvenes. The whole tenor of Paul’s message is the reality that Jesus resurrection and being seated at Gods right hand is the promise being fulfilled that God made to the fathers. It is important to see his theme all thru out the Apostolic writings. The following week after Paul delivers his message, many gentiles come back to hear the word again. The leaders get jealous and Paul rebukes them. He tells them it was necessary for the Jews to have heard the word first, but then in fulfillment of the prophets, Jesus will be a light to the gentiles also. Paul and Barnabas sail off to Iconium next. An important theme in all the sermons in Acts is how the main message is that Jesus is the fulfillment of the Prophets. Paul tells them that they heard the readings from the prophets [Old Testament] every Sabbath day, but they also fulfilled the prophetic word by not being able to understand what the prophets were saying. So they crucified Jesus because of their blindness to the meaning of scripture. We need to see Jesus as the fulfillment of the prophets. The ultimate end of our purpose. To become like him in every way. In today’s church world it is so easy to see the word and ‘church attendance’ as a means to self fulfillment. But we need to re focus on becoming more like him. I am sure it was a shock to Paul when he realized all the time and study he did as a Pharisee was missing the main intent of scripture. It was humiliating to find out that the simple men who became these followers of Christ were closer to the truth than the theological doctors of the day. Jesus said we must become like little children again in order to see Gods kingdom.

Everything Wrong With Everything Wrong With Across the 2nd Dimension

…Well, this is different. Over on Deviant Art, I’ve started doing Sins post for Sins video/posts because why not. Also, it’s fun and I got the idea from CinemaSinsSins and others.
And since I’m the most sinful person I know, I figured I’d sin one of my posts. I did myself in general, but it’s time to attack a full post. I picked the movie since it’s longer and thus has more problems. Time to see how wrong I am!

 1.I messed up the formatting and instead of taking the time to fix it, I just linked to someplace else I put this up on. Fixing it turned out to be easy so why didn’t I  do here?
2.”Wasn’t a Goozim a lot smaller in Doof’s flashback, or are they just bigger in this dimmension?” Likely the latter. Either way, it doesn’t matter.
3.”That’s the most abrasive alarm clock ever” Not really, it seems like more of a light prodding. Besides, I’d love an alarm clock that does that, to be honest.
4.”Candace just forgot she put a picture on a beloved stuff animal?” A Flaky teenager forgot something? I’m so surprised.

When did they ever say that? We just know things went better for Doof-2 and he lost the train, but they never state that this exact thing didn’t happen. There’s plenty of reasons he could have better Balloon-y in this world.

13.”I see they save the “charecter finds out the big secret” plot for this movie.” I get how the use of the cliche is a sin but how is saving it for the movie a sin?

16.”This bit with Phineas-2 and Perry is so sad it’s sin because shut up.” Translation: It’s been more than a minute without a sin so I listed a random thing as a sin because reasons.
17.”Don’t think you can outlaw a season. You can outlaw Summer vacation though. Choose your words carefully, guys.” Oh shut up, you’re just being pedantic.
18.”Perry could find a way to explain to Phineas why he’s doing this, but whatever, this works too.” Phineas didn't exactly give him much of a chance to do. That should have been the sin here.
19.”Once again, good thing a Tv was here so they could see the news update.” In this case, it’s the TV Turning on that was convenient, no the TV itself. Yes that’s pedantic, shut up.
20.”It’s convincent that time works the exact same way in the 2nd dimension, not a second off.” Spongey is fine with a parallel dimension, but when that parallel dimension’s time works the same, that’s crossing the line Dammit!
21.”Candace-2 is a dick to the first dimmension people.” That’s the point
22.”The first scene is repeated, but with dialogue that clearly wasn’t there before.” Do you get points and jokes at all?

It’s also convenient.” Yes, but given how they set it up by establishing they clone Doof’s inventions, it at least makes sense.
26.“But it was obvious in Retrospect” “Buford is now smarter than most of the other kids. Huh.” He’s shown to be slightly smart before and after, how is this a sin?
27.”Quickest Villain Reformation ever.” You know the drill.
28.”How did Monogram and Carl get here so dang fast without anyone noticing?” The first part is fine but the 2nd part doesn’t matter.
29.”. I’d iked to hear Doof’s thoughts on all this. Guess he doesn’t agree cuz he’s locked in that Hannib Lector thing” You just pointed out why this is not a sin.
30.”Both this and the other Vanessa scene feel like those kind of deleted scenes that wouldn’t affected the film all that much if they were left in. The nature of them makes me think they were made FOR this  DVD, almost.” But that would have made Wannessa’s absence later on even more of a sin.
31.”If this was in the movie, it would be the first sign something is up as Doof-1 is pretty okay with her boyfriends usually, while Doof-2 is the “Boyfriend hating Dad” cliché” Yes. You’re point is…

Throne of Night Theory Builds Extras Part 2: The Aquatic Drow and Companion
This build come about by pure coincidence. I had been searching around for more art by Michael and then I came across this. At the time it never dawned on me that it was without the Fire Mountain Games on it. All I saw that Michael’s name and website attached. As such, this is an extra build that wasn’t part of the “Throne of Night” AP. At least, it doesn’t appear to be. That didn’t stop me from coming up with a build though.
I honestly have no idea what this art was originally meant to go with. The site I found it on has since closed, but thankfully I found the art before it disappeared completely and  was able to save it to my Pinterest folder so I could use it at a later date.
If anyone knows, please tell me the origin of this picture/what its intended use was. It’s really cool to look at.
After looking over the build, be sure to read my final words regarding how things may or may not go after this and “Throne of Night” in the future.
I will say that I do have one more planned entry for the “Throne of Night” AP, but it’s not regarding a build or anything like that. It’s something I’ve been putting together with other game designers and a few players. It was something far too big for me, so I invited others I trusted the opinions of. I’m not sure how long it’ll take before I do that particular post though. We’ve already been working on it for a week, and it hasn’t seen much conclusion so far.

Finally, before I get to it, I hope everyone’s staying safe right now.
When I found this picture, I had just started up the builds for Book 5, when the PCs were traveling the Sunless Seas, and I absolutely thought this was someone who would aid the party in discovering what happened to all the kidnap victims, and not a random picture that was meant to be used for something else entirely separate from this AP. Well, for the purposes of this build, that’s its new intended designation.
The best part is because this build is completely extra, that means it’s entirely for fun and doesn’t need to conform to the OGL rules that the others would have to. To publish sources outside the official company, you need special permission to use non OGL material, or reproduce everything in its entirety. For example, a feat that’s not OGL would need to be placed in a side bar on the same page, a nearby page, or at the back of the book. In my experience,  when I first started, I unfortunately put a publisher or two in that predicament without realizing. I’ve since been told what consequences my actions have had with their books. It’s not necessarily a problem, but it does add unnecessary word counts to books that tight printing guidelines, so I knew there’s no way Gary would put himself in the position. But this? All bets are off, and it was fun to colour outside the lines, even if just a little.
I will say that had I not figured out that this wasn’t AP related, I had honestly considered doing a summoner build with the eidolon looking like a variant version of the hippocampus. Why? Because the drow had read up on them, they seemed cool, and she really wanted one. Instead, we get a druid and her actual hippocampus. I’m surprisingly happy about this change.
Despite this being a Book 5 build, she’s only a CR 15. The PCs are supposed to be level 14-16 during this time, and I didn’t want to make her so powerful that she’d be capable of possibly soloing encounters on the PC’s behalf. I mean, she is a controller type build with lots of summoning potential, and doesn’t really involved with fights personally, although she’s still capable in her wild shape.
Unlike the gug slave, who is meant to fight the party first, then be won over and unleashed upon its slavers, this drow is meant to be an ally right out of the gate. An ally that might be willing to share her discovery of a secret area that might just eventually lead to the sealed doors of the trapped demigod lich.
Slight tangent: Book 7 was going to be an “extra adventure” that was unlocked in the Kickstarter, where you discovered the demigod lich and apparently gained his phylactery and became a lich as well? Maybe stole the lichdom? I honestly wish I could say that anything regarding that encounter or discovery of location is mentioned anywhere, but sadly it’s not. At least not that I ever found. Just art for the phylactery, the lich, and the lich disintegrating? Losing power? You can see more of that in my Phylactery Guardian build. What was seen, however, was when Gary released the “world map”, there’s a spot all unto itself called the Hidden Sea. It’s my belief that that’s where the lich resides. Sadly, with the Fire Mountain Games site gone, so it the map. Thankfully, a much smaller, resized one was put up on /tg/, renamed “Underground Seas map.“
As for this drow’s story, she’s just a drow that loved the Sunless Seas, and felt drawn to it, and wanted to explore it during her younger years. A few years ago, she discovered a wounded hippocampus that had somehow been swallowed up by the above waters and dragged down the underground seas. She saved it, nursed it back to health, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

When I look back at unsuccessful lessons that I've taught, I find that they have many things in common. The list below contains some of the biggest mistakes I've made in my math instruction over the years and how they can be avoided.
Forget about why students need to know the math. "Why do we need to know this?" is a question that students ask all the time. Many lessons fail because they don't adequately address this basic but important question. Answering it properly provides a solid foundation for the rest of the lesson. If the topic has a real-world application, then coming up with the right motivation is easy. However, a good motivation in a math lesson can often be as simple as asking students to find a pattern or extend their knowledge to unfamiliar situations. This technique is especially useful for topics like geometric proofs or multiplying polynomials that are too abstract to connect directly to the real world. Sites like Ask Dr. Math are excellent resources for giving clear explanations of mathematical questions, like why we can't divide by zero.
Ignore the relationships between mathematical ideas. English and social studies teachers know that students need to organize their thoughts in an outline before writing an essay. Creating an outline helps students see the big picture by ordering information logically and seeing connections between ideas. We can use the same technique when we teach math by looking at each lesson as part of a larger unit and thinking about how each lesson relates to concepts that students already learned. For example, abstract ideas such as multiplying polynomials like (2m + 1)(3m + 2) can be easier to understand if we relate them to familiar ideas like multiplying 21 x 32.
Don't customize your lesson for your students. With so many math education resources available in textbooks and the internet, copying someone else's lesson is tempting. However, it can lead to disaster in the classroom. A motivation that may work for one class may make no sense to another. Some classes may not understand the vocabulary or explanations used in someone else's lesson. In addition, finding the right combination of problems for your students is critical. If the problems are too difficult, students will get frustrated. If the problems are too easy or repetitive, they will get bored and start misbehaving. If they can't relate to the problems, they will feel lost. Problems should get progressively more challenging but at a rate where students have enough confidence doing easier problems that they can advance to harder ones. Writing a good lesson requires knowing your students' abilities and comfort levels so that you can customize it for them.
Use sloppy language. Good math instruction isn't just about correct calculations or procedures. To convey mathematical ideas clearly, we need to model proper mathematical language for our students, many of whom are so accustomed to auto-correct features on electronic devices that they lack precision. We should avoid ambiguous phrases like "cancel" or "move to the other side." We also have to teach students how to concisely and precisely explain mathematical concepts so that they don't resort to saying, "You know what I mean." Using language techniques familiar to English teachers (such as word walls, visual aids, graphic organizers, and student dictionaries) can improve student understanding of math vocabulary. In short, good math instruction helps students see how ideas connect logically, how math relates to the real world, and how these ideas can be clearly expressed.

Mathematics is a challenging subject to teach. While the content itself is difficult enough, overcoming the mindsets connected to math is often a steeper climb. For many teachers, especially those at the elementary level, math conjures feelings of uncertainty and inadequacy; however, by avoiding a few pitfalls, teachers can overcome their math anxiety and build their confidence while improving their math instruction.
Pitfall 1: Telling students about math rather than allowing them to explore and discover
Remember how as preservice teachers it was frustrating to take a class about teaching instead of actually teaching? Teaching and learning became abstract with someone telling us that a certain type of lesson would engage students. It was not until student-teaching that those pieces of advice came to life, and with that experience, we understood and learned firsthand why certain lessons were more successful than others.
Unfortunately, this "telling" approach is one that many teachers employ with their math students. For example, in elementary school, we tell students that they have to find a common denominator in order to add fractions. Consider instead giving students the opportunity to play with math and discover its beautiful patterns. Before teaching them how to add fractions, let students play with pattern blocks or fraction strips and put together ½ + ¼ . Ask students what they notice. Encourage them to explain and then have them test out their ideas by trying another problem, such as ⅔ + ¼ . The more students play with hands-on manipulatives as they explore math, the more they will remember and make deep connections between those patterns and the procedure that they will later learn.
Pitfall 2: Teaching students tricks to memorize in place of developing a deep understanding
There is a poem that is sometimes used to teach rounding involving five or more and going next door to add one more—or maybe it is less than four makes one more since that rhymes, too. (Seriously, search images for "rounding poems" and take a look at all of the different versions that appear!) While it's entertaining to memorize rhymes and poems, depending on them for precision in math class or anything close to actual learning is far from ideal. Instead, spend time developing students' understanding of numbers. Show them how to find 136 on a number line and have students examine whether it is closer to 130 or 140. Eventually, students will realize that they can also use this same strategy for rounding to the nearest hundred. Dig a little deeper while questioning students to uncover their misconceptions and engage in that uncomfortable discussion about how 15 is exactly between 10 and 20 and not actually closer to 20. Rather than hiding behind tricks, teachers can give students confidence by teaching them the concepts behind the mathematics. Pitfall 3: Trying to hide our own mistakes instead of acknowledging that we (teachers) are all still learning
While teachers may be confident in confessing that they do not know a historical fact, many teachers are uneasy telling students they don't know an answer in math class. Or perhaps they are horrified to have a student point out a math mistake on the board. There is no need to save face during math class. Students need to see adults making mistakes and learning from them, especially in math class. They need to know that it is acceptable to attempt a problem and not always come out with the correct answer. This is not something that needs to be hidden; rather, it is an experience to demonstrate that true math learning is an ongoing process of trial-and-error, with an emphasis on the latter. The opportunity to see that even teachers struggle in math gives students the confidence to take risks and publicly make mistakes without suddenly feeling as though they no longer are "math people."

Beth Brady has taught in the Northampton public schools in Massachusetts for 26 years, initially as a 1st grade teacher, then 2nd grade, and currently as a math interventionist and Math Recovery Champion for the district. She graduated in July 2018 with her second master's from Mt. Holyoke College in the Master of Arts in Mathematics Teaching:
Not doing the math ahead of time. Be prepared. Do the math ahead of time. When you take time to think about your students and how they might approach a task, then you know what to look for. If you brainstorm on one sticky note for each strategy, you can order them from least to most sophisticated. It's even better with a grade level colleague.
Think about the math understandings needed for each strategy. When you put them in a hierarchy like this, it's thinking about the mathematical progression. It makes it easier to think about questions that might help students to get them to the next level of understanding. It becomes more clear for yourself what you are looking for when students are engaged in the math task and you can predict which of your students would use which strategy.
Then it makes pairing kids up so much easier. You can pair kids up who are using similar strategies, or you can pair up kids who are one "step" away from each other. When they share strategies, they can look for connections between the two different ways. Often, when there are mistakes, students fix their mistakes when they're explaining their thinking. You have to be intentional about who you are pairing up because sometimes you might want kids at very different levels of thinking to work together ... you have to think about why you're pairing the students and what each child would benefit from with the pairing.
You need to establish a climate in your classroom to be one in which there is a growth mindset and respect for each other's think time. The class needs to understand that think time is a gift that we need to give each other and blurting out answers or doing work for each other doesn't help grow math minds. Also the quote, "Give a person a fish, and they'll eat for a day. Teach the person to fish, and they'll eat for a lifetime." has a lot of power when you work through what it means and have the class live it. Responsive Classroom has a lot of resources to help you think about classroom climate.
Talking through the independent work so much that they have no thinking to do when they sit down. How do you introduce a worksheet? Try this: Have the kids think about it together. Help them work through the worksheet without giving away any answers, yet focusing on lifelong skills like being able to read and comprehend and problem-solve. If you don't have a document camera to project the worksheet, you could give the worksheet to two or three kids to have them think about it together. It's important to establish a protocol. Make it really clear that they are thinking about how to do the sheet, not working through the math yet. Have them discuss the directions on the page and how they might go about thinking about it. They should talk about what math tools they might need to help them solve the problems. They should talk about how to start. This promotes important self-talk that people need to be able to do to be independent learners.
Don't Tell.
Instead...Question. Listen. Watch. The kids are supposed to be thinking, talking, and developing their own understandings ... not the teacher's understandings!
Not having a climate in the classroom that values using math manipulatives. Math manipulatives or tools help bring out the ideas that are inside children's heads when they are thinking about the math. Some teachers complain that children end up playing with the manipulatives instead of using them as math tools. That has to do more with how the teachers are setting expectations of the tools than with the presence of the tools themselves. Also, the tasks that are being presented may be too difficult for the children who end up playing with the manipulatives. If kids don't understand the point of showing their thinking, and if the math is not within their Zone of Proximal Development, then you're going to get "behavior problems."
When kids have access to materials and they use them to show others what they were thinking, then kids can make connections between the models. They can better understand what others are thinking.
No mental math. Mental math must be emphasized. Children need to solve problems in their heads and pay attention to their thinking so that when they record their thinking, it's a true record of their thinking. When kids are given pencil and paper, they are using the paper as a record for their thinking and a lot of the actual thinking is lost. Kids need to practice explaining their thinking, and at first, teachers need to scribe their thinking so that they can see how they might do it on their own.

Most teachers teach with the very best intentions. Most of these missteps, rather than mistakes, are made out of concern for their students. Teachers desperately want their students to succeed, and sometimes these teaching steps have unintended consequences. When this occurs, students exit the learning opportunity, whether it's one lesson or a full week of instruction, with incomplete understandings and potential misconceptions. Three changes can empower and engage student learning in mathematics.
Making Math Accessible
With the goal of making mathematics accessible, teachers often break math down into parts and deliver small pieces of mathematics content to their students. Parsing mathematics into bite-sized chunks may work in the short term because students can produce answers, but when teachers do this, students don't see how the small piece of mathematics that they are learning at that moment is connected to more comprehensive conceptual ideas. Instead, teachers should select mathematics tasks that encompass bigger ideas, which, in turn, provide more entry points for students to access the mathematics, develop mathematical language, and connect to prior learning. One way teachers can avoid this "bite-sized" trap is to present a meaty problem to students, facilitate student learning by asking probing questions, and then use the student work to unpack the mathematics in a meaningful, connected, and visible way. For example, a teacher who wants to teach multiplication of fractions may present a problem like the following:
"After the school picnic, you noticed that ¾ of the pan of brownies were left over. The principal asked you if she could take 1/3 of the pan to take to the school secretary to eat later. You get to take what is left home. How much of the full pan of brownies do you get to take home?"
Instead of teaching the algorithm for multiplication of fractions first, students solve the problem by constructing representations and engaging in a productive discussion about the problem. Then, the teacher can use student solutions to make the mathematics visible and connect their representations to the procedures for multiplying fractions. Students will then know why and how procedures work and are more likely to understand and remember the mathematics.
Planning Improves Teaching
Even when teachers have taught for many years, taking the time to plan lessons collaboratively makes a big difference in student learning. First, teachers can select the most appropriate activity for their learners, considering their learners' unique learning strengths and challenges. Second, they can anticipate how students will respond to the task or activity they have selected and map out different instructional paths they might take depending on the students' responses. This kind of strategic planning translates into effective teaching practices because teachers regularly anticipate how to use formative assessment throughout the lesson and are therefore prepared to respond in ways that promote student understanding. Without such focused, learner-centered planning, teachers may fall into a "corrective feedback" loop in which teachers' prompt students to give and get answers without understanding. Explicit, targeted, and thoughtful feedback makes a difference!
Supporting Students' Mathematical Identity
Teachers make many instructional decisions. They may be about grouping, task selection, what materials to use in a lesson, questions they will pose, and so much more. Grouping students by perceived ability sends clear messages to students about their capability to do mathematics. Varying these grouping practices to promote students' strengths and collaboration skills builds positive dispositions about math. Teachers can support all learners by drawing upon students' real-world experiences to construct tasks that are relevant to them and invite different perspectives. Students who have their ideas recognized and valued develop positive beliefs about themselves as capable and empowered mathematical learners.

結構激しい雨が降って、前の川のクレソンの茂みや沢山の種、芽がすっかり押し流されて川はきれいになった。下流でも同じようであった。クレソンの相当しっかりした茂みさえすっかり流されてきれいになっていた。 このようなことは繰り返されてきた。 そこで不思議なことを考えてきている。クレソンは下に、下に流されていく。 それではどうして川に存在できるのだろうかと。 クレソンが川を上ることができなければ、川に存在することが不可能であるからである。 根の成長で少し生存の域を遡れるとしても、繰り返される急激な流れで、押し流されてしまうのは明らかである。 そこで、どうして生存して居られるかとして、一つには沢山の種を川に氾濫させることとして、ある種をその周辺に展開して、上流かその近辺に生存域を確保している。 これはタンポポなどの花などが舗装の隙間などに生えている可憐な姿から、広く種を拡散させて 生存の場所を確保する、多数とランダムな種の展開である。 クレソンの場合これでは上流に遡れないので、他の可能性を考える必要がある。 自然現象だけで遡ることは不可能であるから動物が上流にクレソンやクレソンの種を運ぶことが考えられる。思うにそれをなすのは人間くらいしかいないのではないだろうか。イノシシや小鳥が上流に運ぶとは考えられない。如何であろうか。 すなわち、何か異種のものの働きかけ が必要ではないだろうか。- 動物に付いたり、動物が食したりして、種を上流に運んでいる?

ゼロ除算、ゼロで割る問題、分からない、正しいのかなど、 良く理解できない人が 未だに 多いようです。そこで、簡潔な一般的な 解説を思い付きました。 もちろん、学会などでも述べていますが、 予断で 良く聞けないようです。まず、分数、a/b は a  割る b のことで、これは 方程式 b x=a の解のことです。ところが、 b がゼロならば、 どんな xでも 0 x =0 ですから、a がゼロでなければ、解は存在せず、 従って 100/0 など、ゼロ除算は考えられない、できないとなってしまいます。 普通の意味では ゼロ除算は 不可能であるという、世界の常識、定説です。できない、不可能であると言われれば、いろいろ考えたくなるのが、人間らしい創造の精神です。 基本方程式 b x=a が b がゼロならば解けない、解が存在しないので、困るのですが、このようなとき、従来の結果が成り立つような意味で、解が考えられないかと、数学者は良く考えて来ました。 何と、 そのような方程式は 何時でも唯一つに 一般化された意味で解をもつと考える 方法があります。 Moore-Penrose 一般化逆の考え方です。 どんな行列の 逆行列を唯一つに定める 一般的な 素晴らしい、自然な考えです。その考えだと、 b がゼロの時、解はゼロが出るので、 a/0=0 と定義するのは 当然です。 すなわち、この意味で 方程式の解を考えて 分数を考えれば、ゼロ除算は ゼロとして定まる ということです。ただ一つに定まるのですから、 この考えは 自然で、その意味を知りたいと 考えるのは、当然ではないでしょうか?初等数学全般に影響を与える ユークリッド以来の新世界が 現れてきます。
ゼロ除算の誤解は深刻:
最近、3つの事が在りました。
私の簡単な講演、相当な数学者が信じられないような誤解をして、全然理解できなく、目が回っているいるような印象を受けたこと、 相当ゼロ除算の研究をされている方が、基本を誤解されていたこと、1/0 の定義を誤解されていた。 相当な才能の持ち主が、連続性や順序に拘って、4年以上もゼロ除算の研究を避けていたこと。
これらのことは、人間如何に予断と偏見にハマった存在であるかを教えている。 ​まずは ゼロ除算は不可能であるの 思いが強すぎで、初めからダメ、考えない、無視の気持ちが、強い。 ゼロ除算を従来の 掛け算の逆と考えると、不可能であるが 証明されてしまうので、割り算の意味を拡張しないと、考えられない。それで、 1/0,0/0,z/0 などの意味を発見する必要がある。 それらの意味は、普通の意味ではないことの 初めの考えを飛ばして ダメ、ダメの感情が 突っ走ている。 非ユークリッド幾何学の出現や天動説が地動説に変わった世界史の事件のような 形相と言える。

1. ゼロでは割れない、ゼロ除算は 不可能である との考え方に拘って、思考停止している。 普通、不可能であるは、考え方や意味を拡張して 可能にできないかと考えるのが 数学の伝統であるが、それができない。
2. 可能にする考え方が 紹介されても ゼロ除算の意味を誤解して、繰り返し間違えている。可能にする理論を 素直に理解しない、 強い従来の考えに縛られている。拘っている。

4. 深刻な誤解は、ゼロ除算は本質的に定義であり、仮定に基づいているので 疑いの気持ちがぬぐえず、ダメ、怪しいと誤解している。数学が公理系に基づいた理論体系のように、ゼロ除算は 新しい仮定に基づいていること。 定義に基づいていることの認識が良く理解できず、誤解している。

Saitoh’s claim is wider than 1/0 = 0. It is x/0 = 0 for all real x. Real numbers are a field. The axioms of fields define the multiplicative inverse for every number except zero. Saitoh generalises this inverse to give 0^(-1) = 0. The axioms give the freedom to do this. The really important thing is that the result is zero - a number for which the field axioms hold. So Saitoh’s generalised system is still a field. This makes it attractive for algebraic reasons but, in my view, it is unattractive when dealing with calculus.
There is no milage in declaring Saitoh wrong. The only objections one can make are to usefulness. That is why Saitoh publishes so many notes on the usefulness of his system. I do the same with my system, but my method is to establish usefulness by extending many areas of mathematics and establishing new mathematical results.
That said, there is value in examining the logical basis of the various proposed number systems. We might find errors in them and we certainly can find areas of overlap and difference. These areas inform the choice of number system for different applications. This analysis helps determine where each number system will be useful.

I just wanted to give you a little background about my writing and my inspiration. Actually, my inspiration is all of you incredible people. If there were a Tumblrs Anonymous meeting, I’d be the one raising my hand saying, “Hi everyone, I’m a long-time lurker, first-time poster...” My fangirl head just explodes reading all of the crazy, sexy shit you post. And then the art that is on here! You guys are so fucking talented. My stuff is rubbish in comparison and I only hope that someday I can produce amazing art like all of you do. It is truly an inspiration. In fact, seeing the art on here is what prompted me to purchase my Wacom tablet in February. I eventually plan to have at least one drawing composed for each chapter, though that will take some time.
When I was a teenager, I voraciously read comic books (mostly X-Men) and fell in love with that world of characters and their struggles. I learned to draw by teaching myself forms, figures, shapes, and shadows as I saw them in the comics. I had always wanted to write and draw for comics, but that was a pipe dream and I instead went to college and grad school for something far, far different (science). So, this is my chance to fulfill my fantasy of writing and drawing as I always wanted. You have no idea (or maybe you do, actually) how satisfying it is to finally get this stuff out of my head and into print. When I was a teenager, my angst-ridden, sex-starved mind always wished that the comic books could have been a little X-rated—replete with sexy artwork, too. But it never happened and never would happen in mainstream comics, which is why I finally felt the need to let all of these words pour out along with the artwork to accompany them. It was almost like I was waiting for something like Suicide Squad to come by so I could latch onto it and create my ancillary, alternate universe.
I first saw Suicide Squad at the end of December and I was struck by the fact that there was so much opportunity to create a really interesting story that could never be shown in a PG13 movie (too sexy, too smutty). I spent the first three weeks of January letting the movie marinate in my mind while thinking about the characters and making up little fantasies in my head. Then I saw a note that I had left for myself one year earlier encouraging me to “write more”—which was especially jarring considering that I wasn’t writing at all. So, I decided that I would take the opportunity and start writing down my fantasies. It started with Chapter 1 and how I had wished Joker had broken out of prison in the movie. Instead of torturing Harleen, he would succumb to his pent-up desires and have sex with her. I thought it would end there but it just took off. I wrote 30,000 words in literally two weeks, and I’m continuing to write and ride this out as long as I can sustain it. I have my entire story fleshed out and outlined and I expect to have a total of 14 or possibly 15 chapters when it is concluded. Update: A little over 10 weeks later and I have finished 23(!!!) chapters at 85,000+ words, thus concluding my novel. I’m a little sad that it’s over and I definitely don’t want to stop writing, but I think I’ll focus on my drawings for now. But who knows... I have set up my story for a potentially interesting prequel (Joker’s backstory), so maybe I will eventually work on that... 2nd Update: I will be writing a sequel, not a prequel, and I expect it to be the same length (a long-ass novel, LOL).
I will admit that I am not an expert on the Joker and Harley. I have seen the Suicide Squad movie, but I have not read the novelized version of it and I do not plan to. I know the names of some characters (like Frost) from having seen them float around, but I have been making up my own characters to fit my own story. In fact, other than Joker, Harleen, and Frost, most of my characters are original to a degree. When I write, I like to envision my characters played by an actor/actress so I can describe them better and I will eventually share with you my “cast of characters” for this novel (I actually have it posted already in the end notes on my AO3 page). I also have a running soundtrack in my head as if the story were a movie, and I’ll share that with you all as well (also found at that link).
As for Joker and Harley, I know some basics about them from the movies, some comics, the animated series from the 90s, and things that I’m seeing you guys post here on Tumblr. However, I have never been happy with how the comics/tv shows/movies have portrayed characters like the Joker. It always feels like these kinds of characters are too often portrayed as two-dimensional as their image is on the page. Where is the range of emotion? Where is the depth? I love a crazy, insane character, but they are not compelling to me when there is only crazy and nothing else. Why are they crazy? What is their back story? What drives them? What are their motives? What made them who they are? Is there any piece of humanity within them that can be salvaged? That was one thing that I think they got right with Suicide Squad—Leto’s Joker was portrayed as not only an insane, trigger happy loose cannon, but also suffering emotionally in Harley’s absence. I like kick-ass characters that show vulnerability. It is fucking sexy. I think it is important to add those extra layers of personality in order to make the character feel more real.
As for my portrayal of Joker, I intended to show his emotional and vulnerable side. You know he has one. He is still a flesh and blood person, after all. And he was a real person before becoming the “idea” of the Joker. In my world, he had a normal family life as a child (until his family died in an accident), he went to school, he got some degrees, he used his genius brain to start a business, he had a fiancée and a baby on the way. But shit happened and he is now the way he is. He has anger management issues. He is violent. He is fucked up. And he accepts that. Having said that, however, I was never a fan of Harley Quinn obsequiously fawning over the Joker no matter what abuse he put her through. I do not condone domestic violence and it makes me feel pity for her when I think of her returning to her abuser. In stories where she is portrayed that way, I just want to grab her by the shoulders and tell her that she deserves better than that! I know I would not stay with my abuser—no matter how great the sex was. In real life, I work in a social services field where I have managed cases in which my clients have suffered for too long at the hands of their abusive spouse or partner. That is a fucking difficult thing to be confronted with. It is not sexy; it is heartbreaking. And I find that these real life experiences inform the way that I write. For that reason, I am writing my Harleen as a strong, empowered, independent woman. My Joker, while still the insane, trigger happy loose cannon, is written to show facets of vulnerability and emotion. I think that makes him more attractive to know that he is more than just “crazy” and abusive. I like to show that he has desires, dreams, and urges. I think that kind of depth and dimension can sometimes be missing from the comic books—not always, but sometimes.
I do want to say that there are some brilliant fanfics out there that follow comic book canon with the abusive Joker and the submissive Harley. They really hold true to the characters, and that is an incredible feat within itself—to take a character, to know their personality, and to write a story that is true to how they would act. It’s very impressive. I might finish reading with a feeling of “God damn, Harley, you gotta stop letting Joker walk all over you!” And, to me, that means that the writer was successful because they elicited a true emotion within me—whether it is pity or anger or happiness or angst. So, this is not a put-down for those who do write true to the characters. I have mad respect for you. It’s not my bag, baby, but I will read it and enjoy it and I will walk away having felt something and that is the most important thing. Art in any form should make you feel. It should make you react. It should shock your sensibilities. It should inspire. It should make you think. And that is what I hope my art—both my writing and my drawings—do for all of you.

June Writers’ Forum
In my journey through the steps of independent publishing, refining my writing skills, and most recently completing a successful agent search, I’ve come across some excellent information, tips, tools, and shortcuts that I think would be beneficial to any writer. Once a month, I’ll share the “best of” information and news from the publishing industry as well as feature other authors and writing instructors with tips to share. Develop Your Craft – This seems obvious, but every day I see authors who aren’t ready to put their book out in the world attempting to do just that. Make sure you’ve written the best book you can first!

Learn How to Blog – I know many of you will disagree with this because you’d rather focus on your “real” writing. Blogs can help you connect with your readers and keep your website current. The resources in this article are a great place to begin.
Learn How to Build Ads – I need this advice!! I don’t think it matters one bit if you are an indie author or traditionally published, you should know how to market your own product and utilize ads on Amazon, Facebook, and Instagram (particularly if you are targeting younger audiences.)  I will share a step-by-step process as I learn my way through the ins and outs of ads in the coming weeks.

Book Expo America (BEA) was held this year in New York from May 31st – June 2nd. It is THE networking event in North America where authors and publishing industry insiders gather. Amy Collins, Contributing Writer for The Book Designer, has some interesting notes in her article about the event.
Take time to read the whole article because it’s good to know what happens at these types of events. I focused on her notes about the growth of the library market, particularly for e-books. I’m going to work hard in the coming months to make sure my ebooks are available through one of the distributors that supply libraries. Currently, I am not and I’m making a big mistake!
Indie Authors – Did you know about Indie Author Fringe?

Indie Author Fringe is a three-times a year, online conference for self-publishing authors, brought to you by the Alliance for Independent Authors (ALLi), fringe to the major global publishing fairs like Book Expo America. There’s a ton of info to be had at this virtual conference! ALLi is a great all-around resource, too.
Sometimes the jargon used in the self-publishing world is hard to understand—even for those of us who have been around it for a while. Jay Artale put together this Glossary of Book Marketing Terms to help us out. And even better there are a ton of helpful links included to make it easy for us to research a topic.
Bookbaby Self-Publishing Survey Results

Bookbaby is a company that partners with indie authors to bring their books to life. They have many types of packages and although I find them to be slightly expensive, I know authors who have had great success with them. Recently, they released the results of a self-publishing survey that I thought was quite interesting. I took part in answering the survey questions a few months back and now we can see how other authors are independently publishing and marketing their work. To get access to this downloadable PDF you must create a Book Baby log in. I wouldn’t let this stop you. I never mind seeing their emails, but there is an unsubscribe button at the bottom of each communication. I think this info is worth a quick read at the least.
The take away . . . there’s no magic bullet (which we already knew.) But, I did find a few promotional activities to try that I haven’t attempted yet that may help me achieve a broader readership.  
Using a Pen Name

One of my favorite writing and industry advice professionals is Jane Friedman. She often highlights guest posts on her informative blog. In this article, Helen Sedwick guides us through the step-by-step process of choosing a pen name. (If you happen to be in the market for one!)
How do you know if you need one? Why use a pen name at all? Helen Sedwick also gives us the reasons why choosing a pen name might be important. For instance, I write in the children’s market, but if I decided to switch to writing steamy romances, it would be smart to use a pen name to avoid any of my younger readers from stumbling onto something that is not appropriate for their age. Traditional Media Promotion . . . It’s Not All About Social Media!
I know that I talk about this A LOT. But this is my area of expertise, and I don’t like to see authors missing out on ways to gain free publicity. The Secret Promo Power of Obscure Media Outlets by author/book public relations expert Sharon Bially on the Writer Unboxed website caught my eye. It touts the value of gaining attention in some of the smaller, less well-known media outlets and how this attention can lead to broader connections that expand your book sales opportunities.

Okay, back to Amazon. You didn’t think we’d get through a whole Writers’ Forum and not talk about Amazon at least once, did you?

Who’s Pointing at You? (And why it matters.)

Equally interesting as the methodology for Amazon Sales Rank is David Gaughran's article "Who's Pointing At You?", which analyzes the connections your book may have to other books and why it even matters. Seriously, take the time to read this one and use the nifty tool that shows whether you’re connected to other books. Don’t be scared if that is really limited . . . that just means there’s some work to do. (I’m right there with you. Even though I have quite a few also boughts, when I did this, I had no connections other than my own books.)
I guess that means I’d better get back to work!

 TEACHING [For video 11-25-18]
I taught from the verses for the Mass for this date- the main theme was the coming of Christ, which has been a theme for the past few weeks.
From Daniel we read-
Daniel 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
Daniel 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Jesus was crowned King when he ascended to the right hand of God- He bodily ascended- meaning he now sits in a position of authority over all kingdoms.
There will be a day when he returns to the earth - the 2nd Coming- but his kingdom exists now- because he is risen and alive.
We- the church- are his subjects on the earth- now.
We rule and reign with him- now.
We have not only identified with him in his death and Resurrection- but in his ascension too-
Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
I spoke about the reality of the Kingdom of God now- and then.
Yes- there will be a time when all will be made new- and we look forward to the appearing of Jesus.
But he also ‘appears’ now- by His Spirit thru his people.
The Spirit of God continues to direct and manifest himself thru the church.
This indeed is a manifestation of the kingdom of God on earth.
The Kingdom is still going to find completion at the return of the Lord.
But this should in no way diminish the reality of the kingdom now.
Ok- if this were an entire teaching post- I would try and add all the notes and teachings I have done over the years- but instead I will simply add some of the verses I quoted on the video to the bottom of this post.
I taught more on the video- but I felt this would be a good short section to give you a flavor of what the main theme was.
When I turned the camera on I ran into some of my homeless fiends before I started teaching- you will see a few of them on the video. For my Catholic friends you can reference the verses for this days Mass at the bottom of the post.
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

  TEACHING-
This day I did the Sunday meeting with my daughter- and covered the teaching from Bishop Mulvey- and Pastor Bil.
 I’ll add my past teaching below on the relevant chapters- and try and just talk a little on the verses right now.
 Bishop Mulvey [The Bishop of Corpus Christi- Cathedral] talked about the story of Moses- and how God fed the people with Manna [bread] during their wilderness journey.
 Manna was ‘bread from heaven’ and Jesus used this story when speaking about himself [John 6]-
John 6:31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
John 6:32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
Jesus is the true bread from heaven- if a man eats from- he will never die-
John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
I got into the story of Moses some on the video- and won’t teach it all here.
 Pastor Bil [Church Unlimited] gave a good message for Fathers day.
He showed us how Jesus was affirmed of God- the Father-
Matthew 3:17
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

 The only new thing I added- was from the story of David found in 1st Samuel 16 [I taught the whole book of Samuel this past year].
 When Samuel the prophet comes to Jesse’s house [David’s father] Jesse brings out his sons for the big occasion.
 Samuel was there to anoint Israels next king.
 Yet- for some reason- Jesse never called David- why?
It was after the prophet asked Jesse if he had any other sons- then Jesse calls for David.
1Samuel 16:11 And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.
A few years ago a book [or paper?] came out from a scholar- I did not read it- but read the review.
The author made the case that it was possible that David was an illegitimate son.
 From the review- it seemed like the author had a good case.
If this was so- then that might be why Jesse did not introduce him to the prophet at first.
 After all- Samuel was sent from God- he was a prophet- and any father- who had an illegitimate son- might think it best to hide him from a prophet.
 I related how Jesus Mother was at first accused of infidelity.
We read the account in the gospels-
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. Matt. 1
Joseph initially thought Mary cheated on him.
Yet God revealed to Joesph that Mary was pregnant with the promised Messiah- conceived by the Holy Spirit-
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. Matt. 1
 Yet Joesph was on the verge of calling off the marriage.
Did word get out about this?
 Were there rumors going around about the pregnancy of Mary?
 Possibly [more than likely].
 We know today that Mary was faithful and bore the Son of God.
But it’s possible that Jesus was actually looked upon as a Son born out of wedlock.
 Jesus is called the Son of David-
Luke 18:38
And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.

 Maybe- just maybe David- the king chosen of God-

Who was a type and picture of Christ- who was looked upon as an illegitimate son- whose own step father Joseph had to be told- by an angel- in a dream- to accept the child- and his mother-
 Yes- maybe David bore the same reproach- and rejection- that Jesus experienced-

 Why was Jesus forsaken?
 He was the bread- he was the manna-
There would only be one way we would be able to eat-
 The bread had to be broken-

 We don’t know for sure if David was rejected by his father Jesse because he was illegitimate- but we do know he felt rejected by Jesse- it would only be normal to feel that way when your other brothers are deemed better than you.
But we do know Jesus was forsaken of his Father that day on the Cross- it was rejection- for the salvation of the world-
To redeem mankind from all their sins-
The sins of the fathers- the mothers- the sons-
Yes- all of us.
So no matter what your past has been- or what your father might be hiding- or what the neighbors think about your child- or how you might have conceived him-
Regardless of all that-
Because of the rejection of Christ himself
We are heirs of a new family line- we are the children of God himself-
1 John 3:1
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

 John 6[radio # 589]- We see the first miracle of the feeding of the multitudes. It has been commonly taught that this was a miracle of ‘location’, that is they were far from the market and couldn’t get food to feed everyone. This is not the heart of the story. It is actually a question of finance. Jesus in essence asks ‘how can we buy enough food for everyone to eat, where’s the money gonna come from?’ His disciples say ‘200 pennyworth is not enough to feed them’. They tell Jesus we don’t have the cash to cover it. This is important to see, many have taught a doctrine that says Jesus and the disciples had a large treasury with lots of money. This refutes that. This story is one of God being our supply, we don’t need to trust him for the millions of dollars we think we need to reach the world. We need to believe that he can use our limited finances to reach the world! He did it with Paul, why not you? We also see the doctrine of sovereignty again. Jesus says all who the Father gave to him will come to him, and he will raise them up at the last day. No man can come unless the Father draws him. The Father will draw all who are called. Jesus will lose none of the ones the father gives to him. These doctrines are without a doubt taught in this Gospel. I believe them. Some try to make them ‘fit’ the reasoning of men. They eventually taught that Jesus died only for the elect. That the ‘world’ in John 3:16 speaks of the ‘world of the elect’. Others taught that Jesus blood was only shed for the elect [limited atonement]. Christians have fought for centuries over these doctrines. Our Catholic brothers do not officially teach predestination, though Catholic scholars have believed in it [Augustine]. Some will later be called ‘5 point Calvinists’ others ‘4 points’ and so on. I simply believe the words of Jesus. All that the Father gave to him will come to him, those who come will be raised at the last day. No one comes unless God brings them. The point is God is the initiator, sustainer and completer of our salvation. In our minds we can’t grasp this, but without a doubt Jesus teaches it in this chapter. Now, Jesus will also teach that he is the bread from heaven and unless a man eats his flesh and drinks his blood he will not have eternal life. Many good Christians have taught that the way this is carried out is thru transubstantiation, they teach that the bread and wine turn into the literal body and blood of Jesus at the Mass [Catholic theologian Scott Hahn believes John chapter 6 is the foundational chapter for all Catholic theology]. That it just looks like bread and wine, but it is really flesh and blood. Luther and Calvin taught something almost identical, consubstantiation. The doctrine that the bread and wine stay bread and wine, but that the flesh and blood of Jesus are also literally contained within the bread and wine. This doctrine differs very little from the Catholic one. Both of these doctrines are called ‘the real presence’. The only reformer who taught what much of modern Evangelicals believe was Zwingli. He took it to be a symbol only. Zwingli was the dear brother who killed the Ana Baptists for their faith! I visited the spot where this took place in Switzerland many years ago. There is this huge statue of Zwingli overlooking the town where he drowned the poor brothers! The Jews in this chapter say ‘how can this man give us his flesh to eat and blood to drink?’ They are clearly seeing this in the natural. Jesus goes on and teaches that all who believe in him will never hunger again. He is associating eating with faith. He also says ‘the flesh profits nothing, the words I am speaking to you give life’ he is clearly teaching that he was not going to figure out a way to change bread and wine into his literal flesh. He was teaching that all who would believe in his death and resurrection were eating and getting life from Jesus, they would have eternal life. The bread that if a man eats from will live forever. I believe my Catholic and Orthodox and Lutheran brothers are Christian, I do not hold to the view that the ‘real presence’ is a doctrine from hell. I believe good Christians took the words of Jesus literally and developed a belief that became an historic belief amongst many Christians. Some of the greatest Christian theologians hold to this belief. I simply disagree with them.
  )SAMUEL 16- Samuel is coming from the recent ‘hacking incident’ of king Agag, and the Lord tells him to go to Bethlehem and anoint a new king. Samuel is afraid ‘what if Saul hears about it? He will kill me’. Notice, Samuel feels intimidated and fearful. When he gets to Bethlehem the scripture says the Elders were all in a panic, they said ‘are you come in peace’? Hey, they just heard about the hacking incident, word spreads fast when a prophet straps it on with some pagan! They must have been thinking Samuel was on a warpath. He tells them he is come in peace and wants to sacrifice with them and worship. As a little aside, when you have prophetic ministers in a city, it’s only natural that Elders [pastors] are going to feel intimidated. Why? Are prophets better men? No, but the prophetic operates under a different type of anointing. Don’t forget you already saw Samuel gain a reputation among the people because of his strong prophetic gift. Sometimes pastors can feel intimidated ‘geez, that guy hit the nail on the head. I hope he doesn’t call me out by name too!’ Samuel doesn’t ‘call them out’ but says ‘hey Elders, where all in this together. Let’s worship God’. Samuel finds David and anoints him. Saul is battling with all sorts of personal issues [evil spirit]. Even his close associates can pick up on it. The servants recommend for Saul to get a worshipper who can play music and minister to Saul. They tell him ‘yeah, there is this guy named David. He’s real good at playing music. Plus he is a valiant and mighty warrior’. We often see David as a ‘mamby pamby mamma’s boy’ at this stage of his life. But scripture says he already built up a reputation as a fighter. David takes the job and becomes a musician for Saul. A few thoughts. In this chapter we see Gods Spirit [anointing] leaving Saul and going with David. David himself in Psalms pleas with the Lord ‘take not thy Holy Spirit from me’ after his sin with Bathsheba. Let me encourage some of my Pastor friends. It’s easy to read stuff like this, or for some ‘prophet’ to pronounce stuff like this to a pastor. I really don’t see applying this scenario to modern day ministers. God’s Spirit in the Old Testament was operating differently than today. Only one king at a time could have the ‘kingly anointing’. When the Spirit left Saul for David it was because God was only anointing one person for the job. Today, while it’s possible for a pastor/minister to mess up and ruin his ministry, I still wouldn’t apply stuff like this in too much of a personal way. Sort of like ‘The Lord must have left me and now he’s chosen so and so on the other side of town’. The Lord ‘doesn’t leave you’ in this way under the New Covenant. Paul said the gifts and callings of God are without repentance, in context he is speaking of natural Israel, but you can also apply it to believer’s gifts today. How much God uses you does depend on your willingness and obedience to his call, but don’t think he left ‘your church’ and went to the other one down the street! [he hasn’t written ‘Michelob’ on your door! See entry 887]

 Let’s continue our brief over view of the bible. The book of Exodus begins with Israel going into Egypt [connected with the end of Genesis] and the first 15 chapters deal with God raising up Moses and using him to deliver his people out of bondage.
 We see the 10 plagues on Egypt- because they won’t ‘let God’s people go’ and we finally see the great parting of the Red Sea and Pharaohs armies drowning in the ocean.
 God’s people receive the 10 commandments at Mount Sinai and they begin a very long wilderness journey [40 years].
 The book ends with the building of the Tabernacle [a tent system that was the central focus of worship during their travels].
 The book itself is a good read- not as slow as the next 3 to come [Numbers, Leviticus and Deuteronomy] and it is the continuation of the promise that God made to Abraham in the book of Genesis. If you remember- God told Abraham if he left his home land and went into a strange land that God would bless him and make him into a great nation.
 The Promised Land of course was not Egypt- but Canaan [modern day Israel/Palestine] yet we read a few occasions when things got rough during the journey- That Abraham [and his kids] would lose faith and for various reasons [famine] go ‘down into Egypt’.
 So Egypt kind of represents a time of doubt- slavery for God’s people. During their wilderness journey- after God delivers them out of Egypt- they go back to their complaining ways.
 At various times they say stuff like ‘why did you deliver us Moses- we have no food/water out here- only if we could go back and have the onions and good food we had in the good old days’.
 This mantra becomes a stumbling block for Israel- time and again God will supernaturally provide the food and water [Manna, Quail- water from a Rock] and time and again they will complain.
 Eventually we will read the story of them taking their Promised Land [the book of Joshua] but yet even at that point- they still have their doubts [12 spies go in to check the land out- only 2 come back with ‘a good report’- the others say ‘the land looks great- but the people living there are too much for us to defeat- we look like grasshoppers in their sight].
 Like I said in the post on Genesis- you can view the Old Testament as the story of one man and his family.
 God makes the initial promise to Abraham- and the rest of the Old Testament [Law, Prophets and wisdom books] cover that story.
 It’s important to understand that all of these earthly land promises- they take on a much broader meaning in the New Testament- if you carefully read the writings of the apostles [especially Paul] you will see that they viewed the coming of Christ- and his death, resurrection and ascension to God- as the ultimate fulfilling of this promise.
 Lots of language says ‘we are now all heirs of these promises- Jews and gentiles’ lots of language like that.
 This has been a very contentious point in church history- most of the early church [Catholic, Orthodox] did accept this view [Saint Augustine was very influential in this area] and later on many Protestant churches would reject it.
 But I think for the most part that the historic church got it right- while the Protestant view has some merits as well [Amillennialism, Dispensationalism are the various names given to these views].
 Okay- out of all the figures in the bible- only 2 are said to be Mediators- those 2 are Moses and Jesus.
 A mediator is the person who acts as the go between- when 2 parties enter into a covenant. Moses is the mediator of the Old Covenant- Jesus of the new.
 In the gospel of John we read that ‘the law came through Moses- but grace and truth came through Jesus’.
 John also says ‘The word became flesh and dwelt among us’. John uses the imagery of ‘the Word’ [called Logos Christology] a lot in his writings when referring to Jesus.
 The words ‘Dwelt among us’ literally mean ‘he pitched his tent among us’ the same image of the tent [tabernacle] that was set up during the wilderness journey that we just spoke about.
 This tent that was set up and taken down for the 40 year period of wandering [which eventually becomes the Old Testament Temple under King Solomon] was indeed a picture of Jesus.
 Just like God was ‘in the tent’- the Ark that was in the Holy of Holies- the inner room- so likewise God was ‘In Christ- reconciling the world back unto himself’.
 John said ‘The Word became flesh’. God became man- lived among us and redeemed us back unto himself thru Christ- once again we see that the entire bible- all the figures and stories and experiences- point to one thing- Jesus, the Christ- The Son of the Most High.

 (972)1ST CORINTHIANS 10:1-4 it’s actually Christmas morning, 2008, as I write. Paul says ‘all of our forefathers were under the cloud, they were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and sea’. Note- 2 baptisms ‘Cloud’ [Spirit] ‘Sea’ [water]. Let’s do a little thinking here. How can Paul refer to the Jewish fathers as the Corinthians forefathers? Is he expecting a large Jewish group to read this letter? [Like Romans- both Jews and Gentiles were in mind]. Is he addressing them like the author of Hebrews, who is speaking directly to a nation in transition? While it’s possible for a few Jewish believers to have read/heard the reading of this letter. Yet I think Paul is simply being consistent with his letters to the Galatians and Romans, where he taught that all who would believe were the ‘children of Abraham by faith’ Abraham is ‘the father of many nations’. Now, I like the way Paul ‘spiritualizes’ here. Moses was the prophet who typified Jesus. The people were baptized [joined] to him both thru the good times and the bad. There was quite a rough history between Moses and the rebels! Times where they wanted to change leadership. Times where God even said ‘I have had it with this bunch, let’s just wipe them out and start over’. They had history. Also Paul says ‘they all ate of the same spiritual meat and drank from the same spiritual rock. Christ’. Again, Paul seems to teach the symbolic, as opposed to literal, view of ‘eating/drinking Christ’. Israel did have some physical ordinances in the wilderness. The Passover and the bread from heaven [Manna] already happened. But Jesus himself [John 6] would say ‘Moses didn’t give you the real bread, I am the real bread!’. So Paul’s use of the ‘Rock’ is purely symbolic. The story relates to the time where God gave the children of Israel water from an actual rock in the wilderness. Moses spoke to/struck the rock and water came out. Paul sees this as a symbolic picture. He is saying ‘this foreshadowed Christ, the true rock who would be the ‘Rock of ages’ who would be struck on the Cross and water would flow from his side’. Once again, this leaves us some context to interpret the Lords supper in a symbolic way. Was Paul teaching the Corinthians to go out in the fields and actually drink real water from a rock? No. He was simply saying these physical symbols would be fulfilled at a future time, and that time was now! All who believe in Christ are partaking [spiritually] of the water of life, the Holy Spirit. Tomorrow we will get into the examples that were left to us from these stories. I just want to mention that the Apostle Paul freely uses the Old Testament [his only bible at the time!] and applies these stories to both Gentile believers and 1st century Israel. The writer of Hebrews [who I think was Paul] says ‘just like the forefathers missed out on the promise by unbelief- entering the promised land- so too there is a danger that you, 1st century Israel, might miss out on eternal life by not receiving the Messiah by faith’. In this context, Israel of the Old Testament represents Israel in the first century. But when addressing a gentile church [Corinth] it is also okay for Paul to say ‘just like Israel faced physical death by being disobedient, so you too have had premature physical deaths in your community by rebelling against God’. In this comparison Israel [Old Testament] is simply being used as an example of God judging his covenant people for their disobedience. I feel these distinctions are important, they help us to keep the New Testament in context.
   (1132) Nehemiah 9- as the people repent, they stand, fast, confess their sins and read from God’s law for a quarter of the day! There is a real renewal that takes place thru the reading of the word. In the last chapter we saw the emphasis on the teaching of Gods word, the bible says the Levites not only taught/read, but also gave the sense, the meaning of it. Jesus rebuked the religious leaders of his day, not because they weren’t ‘reading/quoting’ bible verses, they were doing it all the time! But because they weren’t really grasping the principles behind the word. In this chapter the people were not only hearing, but also understanding. Now they also do an historical remembrance of Gods great past works. They recount his promise to Abraham, the story of Egypt and Gods great deliverance. The giving of the law to Moses and the rebellion of their fathers during the time of the judges. It’s a great retelling of their history, sort of like Stephen in Acts 7. They also praise and worship God as the creator of all things. I have been reading a good book on the current debate between ‘young earth’ and ‘old earth’ creationists. Though I personally lean towards the old earth idea, yet the book brings out very good arguments for a young earth. They show the historical development of the geologic table [the levels of earth and the dating of these levels] and the book also brings out the fact that though many of the church fathers spiritualized the days of creation, this did not mean they were old earth creationists! Augustine believed in ‘instantaneous creation’ in a moment. So his idea was really young earth, even though he did not take the creation days as literal. One of the points brought out is the basic belief in God as creator, man seems to have a difficult time simply believing in the fact that God made all things out of nothing [Ex-Nihilo] whether you are an old earth or young earth advocate, the fact is God made it all by his word! The people in Nehemiah’s day praised him for his great works as seen in creation. It’s important to see the role that the reading of the law played in this national revival. We see this happen a few times in Israel’s history. Times where they rediscover the law after many years and repent as they return to Gods precepts. Recently I have been reading/studying from around 11:00 am to 3-4 pm. Not every day, but a few days a week. I found it interesting that the people were giving one fourth of their day to reading the law; God saw it as vital for the restoration of his city and people. I want to encourage all my Pastor friends, as you build Gods people, don’t underestimate the importance of good bible teaching. Don’t just give people verses to memorize/hear [what the Pharisees were good at] but give them the understanding too. God used his law [word] to revive the people after the walls were built.

Okay- we made it all the way to Plato and his famous school that he founded at Athens [Greece]. Though Socrates was his teacher- yet Socrates never founded an actual school.
 Like I said earlier- Plato had a view of Reality that was a bit strange. He was an Idealist- not in the way we use the term today [mostly] but he believed that Ideas themselves were the real world- and what we see/experience in the material world are not ‘as real’.
 Plato believed that knowledge was A Priori- which means the actual knowledge about a thing exists before the thing comes into being.
 The famous example he used was a Chair. He would ask ‘what is that’ pointing to a chair. The student would respond ‘a chair’ Plato would say ‘and how do you know this- how did you obtain that knowledge’ and he argued that in the Idea realm- there is a perfect form of Chairness that exists- and that’s why we can identify ‘the chair’ in the material realm.
 Now- Plato’s most famous student was a man named Aristotle. He actually respected his teacher a lot- but there was some tension between the 2. Plato was more of a down to earth type guy- liked to wear plain clothes- did lots of his teaching by walking around the classroom- interacting with people.
 Aristotle was more of a ‘Fancy Pants’ type guy. He had a little bit of the elitist thing going on. He was more of a book worm than Plato- and he would eventually start his own school to compete with Plato’s Academy.
 Aristotle’s school was named the Lyceum. Aristotle was more of a Realist than an Idealist. He believed that this material world was more than just a copy of the Idea world. He taught that Substance and matter were very real- and that contained within the thing is the actual form and future potential of ‘that thing’.
 For instance- the Acorn has within it the actual form of the Oak Tree. This form did not come from an Idea world- it came from the thing itself- the Acorn.
 So matter has within it both the potential of its future form- as well as eventually becoming that thing.
 For Aristotle- knowledge is more A-Posteriori- that is we obtain knowledge about a thing- from the very thing itself. We see/touch and experience that thing- and by our senses interacting with the substance- we get knowledge- after the fact.
 Okay- to Aristotle all substance has both Form and Matter. Then what he called substance- had 2 categories as well. The ‘substance’ [actual thing it is] and the Accidens [not accidents- not a typo].
 The Accidens was simply the outward appearance- what we see on the outside. It might not be what the substance really is- or it might.
 This teaching would eventually become a major way that our Catholic friends would come to define the doctrine of Transubstantiation- during the 13the century the great thinker Thomas Aquinas would re-discover [and introduce] Aristotle’s teaching back into the church.
 In his theological works [Summa Theologica] he would use Aristotelian thought to explain how the Bread and Wine become the actual Flesh and Blood of Christ. Thomas explained that the actual substance of the thing was Flesh and Blood- but the Accidens- what you’re seeing on the outside- looks like Bread and Wine.
 Catholic scholars have debated for centuries on whether or not they should stick to the hard line teaching from Thomas on this. They are not challenging the belief in the Real Presence [that Jesus is really there at the Eucharist] they simply wonder whether or not explaining it this way is right.
 Finally- after many years of certain Catholic scholars asking this question- in 1965 the Pope [I think it was Paul the 6th?] put out a Papal Encyclical [an official Vatican teaching] and he stated clearly that the way Aquinas taught it is the official doctrine of the church- so that settled that.
 Okay- Plato was an Idealist [Dualist] and Aristotle was a Realist. That’s the major difference.
 I will note that Aristotle’s most famous student was Alexander the Great. And during the great conquests of Alexander he took with him a whole team of scientists who brought back all types of specimens of things and he gave them to his famous teacher Aristotle- to advance the cause of learning at the Lyceum school.
 It has been said that Alexander’s efforts at collecting and bringing these things back after their victories- that this was probably the most expensive scientific endeavor of all time- right up until the modern space Era.
 Note- I try to avoid too many ‘big words’ in these posts. Not because people don’t understand them- but because I forget how to spell them! And in this post- there are around 10 words that my spell check has no idea how to spell- so just a warning- there might be a few misspelled words in this one.

1Samuel 16:16 Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well.

 These are some of the first posts ever made, I hope to share some of them over time in between my regular studies. Of course they are ‘dated’- and it would be too difficult to edit each post. Some have old news comments in them, but if I also taught on the posts, I’ll post them ‘as is’. Hopefully they will be a benefit in some way- John.

The Ultimate Book Tag
I came across booklovingnut.com which I really enjoyed, and then found this tag which was posted by ErinBook link: > https://booklovingnut.com/2014/09/24/ultimate-book-tag/ 1. Do you get sick while reading in the car?
I mostly read on the train but no I don't. 
2. Which author's writing style is completely unique to you and why? 
The obvious choice for me is J.K Rowling as I feel nobody has captured and kept me engrossed the way the Harry Potter books have (yet). 
3. The Harry Potter series or the Twilight Saga?
 Give 3 points to defend your answer. My initial answer was going to be Harry Potter but when I tried to think of 3 points it was a struggle against Twilight. Only because they are both so brilliant to me so I would rather not choose between two of my children please, lol. 
4. Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is in it (besides books)?
 I don't carry a book bag I just carry my book in my backpack with my University needs etc. 
5. Do you smell your books?
I absolutely do every time, especially Hardbacks, they have that special kind of bookish smell. 
6. Books with or without a little illustration?
With: I really love the way Sarah J Maas has little illustrations on each chapter. They are not the only ones I love but it was the last book I read that had them :). 
7. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn't quality writing? 
(Example: I read Twilight before I read HP and thought the writing was amazing but read HP and now think Twilight is a little bit of a joke). When I was around 14/15 I used to take random trips to the library like I would be there all day and I found the Katie Price books and read Angel... I remember telling everyone to read it and being over the top obsessed with them, I never finished the series so recently decided I would re-read Angel again first to refresh my memory and I got about 3 pages in and had to DNF,  I found it to be quite awful, good storyline though. 
8. Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share! 
I can't actually remember any right now but if one comes to me I'll be sure to update. 
9. What is the thinnest book on your shelf? 
We Should All be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie  
It's an essay adapted from Chimamanda's TEDx talk where she offers us her own definition of feminism today.  I really enjoyed this and I could have read it one sitting but I made the reading process even longer because I didn't want it to end. If you haven't read it you definitely should get a copy ASAP! 
10. What is the thickest book on your shelf?
Under the Dome by Stephen King It was on Amazon Prime for £2.00 (secondhand of course) so I thought why not. You can't go wrong for that price and free next day delivery, right?
11. Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?
I used to write so much more when I was younger especially poems but I'm not physically writing at the minute due to the majority of my energy being put into University but I constantly have ideas flying around in my head. It is one of my goals to one day complete a book or series so keep an eye out for me :D. 
12. When did you get into reading?
My family tells me I've always been associated with books but I think it really kicked in, in Primary School around the age of 9. Jacqueline Wilson was my favorite author and between her and Roald Dahl that was all I was reading at one point and then Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief came out and broke down those walls. The Scholastic book fairs made a big contribution to my reading habits also!
13. What is your favourite classic book?
Does Of Mice & Men count as a classic? I along with many other people my age across the country had to read it for GCSE English Literature, its a very good read and the movie is now on Netflix, go check it out. 
14.  In school was your best subject Language Arts/English?
I would say English was my 2nd best subject, ICT was first as I've always loved Technology very much. If I had the opportunity to do English Literature again I definitely would. 
15. If you were given a book as a present that you read before and hated... what would you do?
I'd say thank you and give it another go, my ratings might have changed since I read it last. 
16. What is a bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while blogging? 
I've got a real obsession with using GIFS and will always try and include them somewhere on my blog, I'll try my best to control it now. 
17. What is your favorite word?
Fan-tabby-tastic. It's a word now, don't question it. 
18.  Are you a nerd, dork, or a dweeb? Or all of the above?
Who knows. 
19. Vampires or Fairies? Why?
Vampires of course, unless we’re talking Feye...
20. Shapeshifters or Angels? Why? 
Shapeshifters. 
21. Zombies or Vampires? 
ZOMBIES OF COURSE.
22. AND FINALLY: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?
How about no romance involved at all? No? Okay....
