So I was watching Iron Man 3 today and there's this scene that just stuck out to me. I'm from Mississippi. A red state. I'm used to seeing people with guns. Holstered, yes. But when I see them I'm still used to seeing them generally in the person's pocket or holstered outside of their pocket. Well in the scene when Tony's in Tennessee, and he goes into that country/western style bar to talk to Chad Davis' mom. There is this guy sitting at the bar with his gun visibly holstered on the outside of his pocket. It in like a leather holster. And they show you Tony look at it. And his expression is seriously appalled. He looks genuinely confused and, due his anxiety being really new and heightened recently, he even looks a little frightened. It just made me realize that that is nearly foreign. He's used to police and such people having guns, but this just random dude, drinking, with a gun just chilling. I don't know, that just really hit me.
