Vintage 'Urban Lapel Jacket'
Taylor was spotted out to dinner this week in a look that, to my eye, wouldn’t be out of place in a top box at Arrowhead Stadium. Though off-duty from her football spectator activities, this outfit has all the hallmarks of Taylor’s sporty aesthetic uniform she leaned on and we became familiar with when cheering at Travis’ games during the 2023-24 NFL season. The ‘fit comprises a Chiefs-appropriate red/white varsity-style jacket on a black base (inclusive of a short denim hemline) and finished off with heeled ankle boots (and I spy a cute Gucci bag - the red strap detail ties in nicely to the jacket).
While I have my mind fixated on TTPD visuals and the aesthetic of this era, a look like this feels like a subconscious signal boost to the public of her present reality. It bears remembering that Tortured Poets is an album a minimum of 18 months in the making - based on Taylor’s admission that conceptualizing for it began almost immediately after she submitted October 2022’s Midnights to her label. I think about that key fifth stage in the process of grief, Acceptance, and how different Taylor’s life must look like now on the other side of the lifeline I’m sure Tortured Poets presented for her creatively and emotionally. And this outfit feels like the very embodiment of those significant life changes and leaps into love she’s made since April 2023.
On a fashionable note regarding the brand: I’ve seen a few questionable retailers with this jacket’s stock info as part of its inventory offerings and all appear questionable to me - hence my choice to mark this piece as ‘vintage’ at least for now until I’m better able to certify the brand in question. Funnily enough, the last time that Taylor made an appearance at this particular strip mall establishment (a charmingly non-descript celebrity favourite in a tucked away, unexpected venue) she was wearing an H&M top that also had retailed in dubious seller markets that I won’t name here but you’re familiar with likely for their fast fashioned foibles).

If only homes weren't so expensive today. This 1928, (reno'd in 1940), beauty couldn't even sell in Los Angeles, CA with a price reduction of $215K - it's out of control. 3bds, 3ba, $2.499M. This has happened before- if you buy when the market is high, when it goes back down and stabilizes again, you're stuck with a home that isn't worth what you paid.
Tumblr media
The home has been upgraded, but still retains the 30s look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nice large living room. Even though beige is my least favorite color, I do like that it's not stark white.
Tumblr media
Here's a nice feature- there's a little diagonal room off the living room, w/a book nook and bar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plus, this sun room for guests to wander into and gather.
Tumblr media
There's a nice dining room that opens to the patio.
Tumblr media
Love the pale green cabinets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The primary bedroom is pretty large for an older home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The en-suite has been remodeled, but what is this small high tub thing? A whirlpool bath, maybe?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The other 2 bds. are good sizes. One has access to the garden.
Tumblr media
This bath has vintage fixtures and period style tile.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Two nice patios and a garden on a 5,223 sq ft lot.

FOREHEAD. KISSES. If this man doesn’t kiss your forehead at least 15 times a day, he might die. He MUST ALWAYS kiss your forehead, whether he’s saying “hi”, “good morning”, “I love you”, “I missed you”, “goodnight”, “how are you?”, whatever the occasion or conversation, you bet your ass a forehead kiss is coming with it
You get him a record player for Christmas the year after you guys start living in the bunker because you found two gigantic boxes of vinyls in a storage closet, and now whenever he’s cooking, researching with you and Sam, or cleaning his guns/knives/other objects that kill things, he’s listening to his records
Will take any opportunity to get his hands on you in both every day and nsfw situations. Whether it be putting his hand in your back pocket while walking somewhere, kicking Sam from the shotgun seat solely so he can hold your hand while he’s driving, throwing you over his shoulder while you’re doing chores and forcing you to snuggle with him, or kissing your neck while you’re doing stuff because he’s a horny little shit, he’s gonna do it
During really long stretches between hunts when you guys are just hanging around the bunker not doing anything, he organizes “Nostalgic Media Nights” with popcorn and snacks and the works, where he either locates an old cartoon, movie, or sitcom from when y’all were kids/teens on a streaming platform or bootlegs it, and y’all sit down in the living room to watch it, and it doubles as an “Introduce Cas To Mortal Pop Culture Night” as well. He nearly threw up when Cas said he genuinely enjoyed One Tree Hill when the rest of you guys only put it on to make fun of how bad it was
All of his flannels are organized in his closet in the order of how much he wears them, with the most often worn on the left and the least often worn on the right. Sam hates it and always tries to arrange them by color, but he just puts it right back claiming his system is better anyway
Very handy. He always fixes things in the bunker before you or Sam even notice that they’re broken, and you only learn that they were broken when you ask him what he did that day and he offhandedly mentions that he fixed a thing
He collects vintage cookbooks. He finds them in thrift stores and at flea markets, and a couple times a month you three pick a random book and scour through it to find the most offensive and war crime adjacent recipe you can and try it out. You all like jello much less than you did before you started this tradition
When he gets sick, he’ll deny it and try to keep on trucking until he actually passes out from exhaustion, so you have to borderline barricade him in his room to make sure he stays in bed and gets some rest. And he’s a total grump about it, but he’ll still thank you quietly when you bring him ginger ale and tomato rice soup like his mom used to make
He watches cooking shows for the sole purpose of shit talking the contestants. It’s hilarious to watch him while he’s watching Hell’s Kitchen, because he turns into an American Gordon Ramsay and just roasts the hell out of all the competitors. But when he’s watching Great British Baking Show? He was once heard saying, “Oh come on, Barbara, those bagels are flat as hell! STEP UP YOUR GAME, WOMAN, OR YOU WON’T LIVE TO SEE THE END OF BREAD WEEK!”, and you and Sam proceeded to die laughing
He sings in the shower, but he does it in a way that he puts on a SHOW in the shower. He exclusively listens to hair metal while he’s in the shower, and he acts like he’s actually on stage with all of his favorite artists while washing his pits. Although one time you did hear him singing along to "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift, and you had to fight every urge you had to not record him for blackmail purposes
When he sleeps by himself, he starfishes on his stomach so he can reach the gun under his pillow easier. But when he sleeps with you, he lays on his back with an arm slung around your waist while you’re partially sprawled over him and snuggled into his chest
He’s very bi. Sam always makes jokes that Cas is his boyfriend, but you’re his wife, which always earns a “Confused Angel Head Tilt™️” from Cas, an eye roll from you, and a facepalm from Dean
He taught himself Morse code on a whim because he was bored out of his mind, and for a while he was able to get away with making fun of Sam or “creating chick flick moments” for you, but then you and Sam taught yourselves Morse code and totally call him out on his attempt at being sneaky
He’s absolutely TERRIBLE about keeping New Year’s Resolutions. He makes a list, and he actually follows them for a while as lofty as they end up being, but come February 1st, he’s back to being the same dumpster fire of a human being he was before, but he still gives himself a pat on the back for lasting as long as he did
He’s secretly a cat person. He loves dogs, but he has to admit that cats are badasses. He’s never met a cat that he didn’t immediately like, and cats seem to gravitate towards him because they share his “no fucks given” attitude
He’s insanely good at guessing games like Guess Who, Charades, Pictionary, all that shit. You guys even came up with a way to play Guess Who where the questions you ask are almost too oddly specific based on the vibes of the little character cards, and he still always wins
His favorite way to kiss you is with both of his hands in your hair with your hands on his elbows. He always trails a few cheeky pecks down your neck for fun because he loves it when your cheeks flush bright red when he does
He always texts you to let you know he was thinking about you and what prompted his thoughts. Like “Saw a really pretty sunset earlier. You’re really pretty, too, so I thought of you” or “Saw a really cool car in your favorite color. Made me think of you”, and he always tacks on either a heart emoji or the “<3” because he’s an old man. You can’t help but smile every time you read one of those messages

Firestone Walker Brewing releases the "crushable" Firestone XPA. The first in a seasonal series for 2024.
Press Release Paso Robles, CA: Firestone Walker today unveiled its first of three seasonal offerings slated for 2024—the all-new Firestone XPA, a next-generation extra pale ale brewed with Southern Hemisphere hops and California style, available now in all Firestone Walker markets. Find it with the FW Beer Finder.  “XPA is the number one craft beer style in Australia and it’s something we’re excited to champion it here in the U.S.," said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. "The appeal of XPAs is obvious--they offer everything you love in a good pale ale at a crushable ABV. We fell in love with the style during our travels to hop farms across Australia and New Zealand and we were inspired to make our own." Firestone XPA (5% ABV) is rolling out to all Firestone Walker markets in can (12-oz six packs) and limited  draft formats for the duration of winter and through the spring season into June. An early batch of Firestone XPA earned a Bronze Medal at the 2023 Great American Beer Festival in the International Pale Ale category. Crisp, Hoppy & Crushable Firestone XPA is built around New Zealand’s Nelson hop with its grapefruit and tropical Sauvignon Blanc qualities, all backed up with a dollop of classic Mosaic hops. The resulting beer offers a trifecta of drinkability: crisp, hoppy and crushable.  Firestone XPA also taps into Firestone Walker’s roots as a heritage brewer of California pale ales.  “Creating this beer brought a lot of joy to our production team, there was definitely some pent-up enthusiasm for pale ale brewing,” Brynildson said. “We went all in to fine-tune several test batches and nail what we were after with this beer.” He added, “We wanted to lead with the punchy tropical qualities of the Nelson hop, and we found that adding just the right amount of Mosaic makes the fruit flavors all the more lush and expansive.”  “XPA is the predominant beer style in Australia for a reason,” said Firestone Walker Brand Director Hannah Barnett. “I think it has the potential to take the U.S. by storm at some point, or at the very least become a fixture in the American pale ale landscape. We’d like to be part of making that happen.” # # # Founded in 1996 by brothers-in-law Adam Firestone and David Walker, Firestone Walker is a second-generation, family-led brewery based on California’s Central Coast. Helmed by highly decorated Brewmaster Matt Brynildson, Firestone Walker's main brewery in Paso Robles produces a diverse portfolio including 805, California's #1 craft beer brand; Mind Haze, a top 5 national hazy IPA; and Cali Squeeze, one of the nation's fastest-growing beer brands. The Firestone brand family also includes iconic beers such as DBA, Union Jack, and Pivo Pils, as well as the storied Vintage Series of barrel-aged strong ales led by Parabola. As a California beer company, Firestone Walker also has two additional locations: the Barrelworks wild ale cellar in Santa Barbara County and the Propagator R&D brewhouse in Venice. Firestone Walker was recently named “Best American Brewery of the Decade” by Paste Magazine. $old their $ouls!
Hi Skippy & Friends- Pilgrim here with some thoughts on what the press insists are "stunning, in style" photos of the latest Kardashian "fairytale" (?) family escapade. I apologize for the length but they are over achieving here. To me it looks like an invitation to a medieval gathering with dungeon attire or maybe an old fashioned Roman orgy. I do know for a fact-high heels (D & G included) are totally verboten on yachts.
According to the US Sun, the kids are disgusted with their mother's overt behavior. "KOURTNEY Kardashian has continued her "excessive" PDA with Travis Barker during their wedding weekend in Italy even as her kids beg their mother to stop." Thank goodness for kids honesty! This is the most healthy comment so far but it is absolutely out of control when children are forced to become the parents.
These aging Kardashian women and Barker look depraved using their children for an outright mercantile event. The Daily Mail reports, "The worldwide coverage of the reality stars showcasing the brand’s clothes against the idyllic backdrop of the Italian Riviera is set to give millions of pounds worth of free publicity to Dolce & Gabbana which has been hit by controversies in recent years." They say all publicity is good but I have my doubts about this crass excuse for a fashion show.
Must be a match made in heaven and I am not referring the the bride and groom who are on their 3rd wedding so far. Their dress rehearsal was the Las Vegas a la Elvis drunken ceremony. There was the small wedding in LA after the Grammys, where he played and then the daytime court ceremony, in Santa Barbara, arriving in a vintage car where the bride wore white Band-Aids. Now, this Dolce and Gabbana spectacle accompanied by multiple media crews filming 24/7. When the gals are posing with designers hovering, making sure each inch-yard-of material is in the right place, their ideas look sexy/chic...but when these curvaceous gals start to move, the outfits are useless compromising the women's integrity. The children have lost any angelic aura with tired, sullen faces sporting weird get-ups.
The ultimate insult it seems to me, is they think we will like this nonsense. Perhaps the reason why D & G is having trouble is because of what we are seeing here? What kind of designer ceremony are they creating in the name of religion to cleanse this performance wedding? Social services should be knocking on their gigantic doors back in Calabasas, CA investigating these kids welfare. Has this K lost her way? Is she having some kind mid-life/alter ego crisis hooking up with a rock band drummer who seems to think licking people in public is polite? She obviously trusts this man more than any other person leading me to think this is not a well balanced relationship.
The famous quote from Hamlet comes to mind. "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark." I think we can substitute Portofino for the location today. What is the speculation on the paycheck for the K family? Surely their marketing-momma-mogul is not doing this for free with all of them showing up and working it. Those new mega mansions, designer jets and divorces must have taken quite a bite out of the budget. Over and out for now. Long live the queen!
Thank YOU Pilgrim! I love this…..you speak for many!🙂❤️❤️❤️❤️

Life in Long Beach: Images from my early childhood
Take a trip back to late 1970s- early 1980s Long Beach, CA. This video is part auto-biography, part therapy, part fairy tale, and all California history. The Chortkoff Archives is a start up non-profit. We worked with the worlds smallest budget to accomplish my epic and ambitious vision! I think you will find this video is fast paced and an enjoyable way to spend 47 quick minutes. Please leave respectful comments. I don't even want to say how long I have been working on this one! I had the idea way back in 2013. That year my childhood home was up for sale and I called the real-estate agent who was only interested in selling the house and I said all the wrong things. So I just thought about it and eventually this was made. The interiors were recreated in The Sims 2, and you get a video walkthrough. So come check out my simulated time machine! Let's go to Long Beach back to the groovy and awesome late 70s early 1980s LA! There is a little something for everyone here! If you like animation, California history, video games, or grew up in the 1970s or 1980s, I think you will like this! If you have lost loved ones and family you will relate to it. If you had a unique childhood I think you will like it too. It is a story about picking up a little girl I left behind in LB in 1985! I had a big story to tell but no budget. I have big visions that I hope to bring to the big screen someday! Hopefully this video will help gain me the popularity I need to buy camera stabilizers, microphones, actors, and sets. Maybe a small camera crew someday! But all I had was a Canon 6D and it's built in microphone. But I got the sound down pretty well anyway! Thanks to Will Wright for inventing the Sims games. They have helped me work through the tough processing of everyday life. I recreated my childhood from memory. I also include a lot of interesting historic facts and elements to make this enlightening for everyone. I exorcized some childhood demons too! I recommend going back and writing out your story from birth! It was hard to keep this under an hour long because I began to remember so much stuff! Plus as I reached out I found my Cuz Peter Shaw, nephew of my beloved grandpa Thomas. I did not see a photo of my grandfather from the age of 10 until about 7 years ago when my dad, Rand Chortkoff passed. He had them! Cuz Peter also hooked me up with lots of photos of grandpa! I have yet to find where my grandparents are buried. This goes by fast and is light and fun I think! It is not made for children, but it is from my inner child's point of view. I would rate it PG. Safe for work, safe for TV, and probably just fine for children but viewer discretion is advised. And PLEASE subscribe to my Youtube! The Hidden Gems of Gym Equipment Auctions
Gym equipment auctions can be a goldmine for fitness enthusiasts, gym owners, or anyone looking to set up a home gym. While the allure of brand-new equipment may be tempting, the hidden gems lying within auctions can offer incredible value for a fraction of the cost. From commercial-grade machines to specialty items, these auctions often unveil treasures waiting to be discovered.
Here’s a guide to navigating the world of gym equipment auctions and uncovering the hidden gems within.
Understanding Gym Equipment Auctions:- Gym equipment auctions typically feature a wide range of items, including cardio machines, strength training equipment, free weights, and accessories. These auctions may be held by gyms closing down, equipment leasing companies, or liquidation sales. While some items may show signs of wear and tear, many are in excellent condition and still have plenty of life left in them.
Commercial-Grade Equipment:- One of the biggest draws of gym equipment auctions is the availability of commercial-grade machines. These are built to withstand heavy usage and are often found in professional gym settings. Purchasing commercial-grade equipment at auction prices can be significantly cheaper than buying them new, making it an attractive option for both individuals and gym owners.
Specialty Items:- Auctions can also be a treasure trove for specialty gym equipment that may be hard to find elsewhere. This includes unique machines for specific muscle groups, rehabilitation equipment, or rare vintage pieces that collectors covet. These specialty items can add variety to a home gym or provide a niche offering for a commercial gym, setting it apart from the competition.
Bargain Finds:- One of the thrills of attending gym equipment auctions is stumbling upon unexpected bargains. Sometimes, items are undervalued or overlooked by other bidders, presenting an opportunity to score a great deal. Keeping an eye out for hidden gems amidst the auction inventory can lead to significant savings on high-quality equipment.
Tips for Success:- To make the most out of gym equipment auctions, consider these tips:
Do Your Research: Before attending an auction, research the types of equipment available, familiarize yourself with market prices, and set a budget to avoid overspending.
Inspect the Items: Take the time to inspect the equipment thoroughly before bidding. Check for any signs of damage or malfunction that could affect its performance.
Set Realistic Expectations: While auctions can yield great deals, it’s essential to manage expectations. Not every item will be a hidden gem, so be prepared to walk away if the bidding exceeds your budget.
Factor in Additional Costs: Keep in mind that there may be additional costs involved, such as transportation, assembly, or maintenance. Factor these expenses into your budget when determining the overall value of the equipment.
Stay Patient and Persistent: Auctions can be competitive, so stay patient and don’t get discouraged if you’re outbid on certain items. Persistence can pay off when you least expect it.
Gym equipment auctions offer a unique opportunity to find hidden gems at bargain prices. From commercial-grade machines to specialty items, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re setting up a home gym or expanding a commercial facility.

Says a native of LA, “FIRST TIME ON THE MARKET, same family for a hundred years, a selection of photos telling you exactly WHO is haunting you. It's literally shocking to see a house this intact ANYWHERE but especially in LA and it breaks my heart to KNOW that some asshole is going to buy this and turn it into a modern disaster or some abomination 'homage' to the era instead of preserving it the way it deserves.”  1903, Los Angeles, California, 6bd. 3ba., $1.395M.  Already has a pending offer.

Celebrating their 10 thousandth batch, Firestone Walker Brewing releases a special version of DBA. Introducing Double DBA Batch 10k.

Press Release
Paso Robles, CA: Firestone Walker today released a special imperial edition of DBA, the beer that started it all for the brewery back in 1996.
Double DBA Batch 10k lands as a commemorative release that marks the 10,000th batch of beer brewed at Firestone Walker’s Paso Robles, California brewery.
“This was the perfect beer to bring us full circle and mark this milestone brewing moment,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “It takes DBA’s classic oak-influenced profile to an entirely new level.”
Double DBA Batch 10k originates from DBA that was brewed at double strength, then aged for a year in 11-year-old Old Fitzgerald wheated bourbon barrels. This distinctive barrel treatment enhanced DBA’s classic flavors of toffee and caramel with notes of baking spice, cocoa powder and dried fig.
Double DBA Batch 10k is rolling out to all Firestone Walker markets in limited 12-ounce bottle and draft formats. It is also available for a limited time at all Firestone Walker locations and online at FirestoneBeer.com.
Staying Power
DBA—originally known as Double Barrel Ale— was the first beer made by Firestone Walker starting in 1996. It was born as a British-style pale ale with a touch of California flair, and it became an instant hit on the Central Coast. DBA was particularly notable for being partially fermented in American oak barrels.
“We made this one beer, DBA, that went through our version of a Burton Union with linked oak barrels,” recalled David Walker. “In those days, our volumes were so slow that we actually named the barrels.”
The original makeshift brewery was located on the back-forty of the Firestone family vineyard in Los Olivos. In 2001, Firestone Walker moved its brewing operations 90 miles up the California coast to Paso Robles, where DBA has remained a fixture in the Firestone Walker portfolio.
Firestone Walker brewed another special edition of DBA back in 2005 to commemorate the 1,000th batch brewed in Paso Robles. Now comes Double DBA Batch 10k to celebrate the staying power of this original Firestone Walker flagship.
“I always think it’s a fun challenge to keep a beer like DBA relevant in the new world of craft beer, where styles and tastes can be mercurial,” Brynildson said. “Brewing this special edition of DBA for our 10,000th batch and aging it in these amazing barrels—it just seemed like the perfect way to tie it all together.”
