i need to find a way to not have to work anymore, so that i can take life easy by watching all my guys in their shows, drawing horny fanart, and reading fic. is that too much to ask?

At the bookstore chain I work at in Canada (I won't name it but it's the only chain in Canada so if you wanted to know you could easily google it 😌), we do book returns every Saturday. Returns are where we return books to the publisher or distribution center based on them not selling well, or being pulled from the shelf for some reason, or whatever reason the publisher gives, honestly. We put them in boxes and send them away. But we have specific returns, called 'strip cover returns' where we tear the cover off and only send those back to the publisher or distribution center. But instead of recycling these, probably tens of thousands of books a year, we rip them in half, so they are considered "destroyed", and then we throw them in the trash compactor. This chain bookstore and its publishers would rather destroy insane amounts of trees and NOT recycle the pages we make from said trees then risk someone reading these books for free and not paying these rich scumbags. Yet this bookstore chain asks for donations YEAR ROUND, EVERY YEAR from customers to raise money for Canadian schools so that they can buy books. How absolutely fucking hypocritical when they're completely destroying tens of thousands of books every year.

In my minds eye the warioware headquarters/wario's living room has a water cooler. And nobody dares drink from it but they do like to stand next to it instead of making games and sometimes they bring over a can of soda or something and then pour it in the little plastic cups instead of just drinking it from the can

If, as Bataille suggests, life is characterized by what appear to be "wasteful" activities, then what could be more "wasteful" than homosexuality and nonprocreative heterosexuality (and gender systems)?

Le case abbandonate si somigliano tutte.
Nei colori. Nei modi in cui sono state sprangate, sbarrate, chiuse.
Nel modo in cui la natura le ha attaccate e consumate.

705 - Wasteful Progress If you needed to fight Guardians to access a Shrine for you main objective, using Ancient Arrows is not wasteful: you're (I'm) just being a baby!

Growing up, we were full swing in the movement to crazy consumerism that started around the 80s. But it seemed there was still a very blatant distinction. Those who could afford it, and those who could not. We were firmly in the latter.
Being older now though, that distinction doesn't seem to matter anymore, and it's largely because the products, cars, and appliances that were made to last long are now so old they're out of market and harder and harder to find second hand.
Now the distinction is only "how much does this consumerism harm you on a scale of 1-10 and do you even care?"
Most people my generation don't care. Most people my generation don't even seem to realize major appliances used to last more than a few sad years. Perhaps more infuriating than that, as a result, it seems no one my age values long term objects and value the way I do anymore.
There's no pride in owning something and knowing it is yoursfor the foreseeable future and having that solid sense of ownership. It's this subconscious knowledge that we're no longer just borrowing time to live, but almost as if we are borrowing everything we buy instead of owning it for the long run.
I mean, more and more people are starting to trade in cars like we do our phones, and that used to be the devils crown of consumerism.

had hotpot as a belated birthday party yesterday and even tho we ate a lot there were sooo many veggies left... so i asked if we could get a take out bag for them but the owner was like no. so i wrapped most of them in tissues and smuggled them out in my tote bag lmaoooo but i really couldn’t bear the thought of the nice spinach and cabbage and mushrooms being thrown away once we leave. now i have a whole tupperware full of veggies that i’ll use for stir fry today hehe
