What do you think happened to Christa?
Oh, I know what happened to Christa.
The aliens got to her first, but unlike Luke, they didn't make a clone of her. She wasn't a good candidate, she didn't have a big group to infiltrate and the aliens didn't make the Clementine connection until they already had Luke.
It's really a shame. I hope she and Luke were able to eventually escape back to earth.
I know there are new people to the tumblr twdg fandom here and they must be super confused so here's some context, it's an inside joke haha

WHO WANTS TO HEAR ME RAMBLE ABOUT GAY FURRY DEMON SEX? XD
(damn, there's a sentence I never thought I'd say....)
Okay...so I see some Stolitz confusion and bashing online and I need to type up a defense here because I won't be able to sleep otherwise lol
I consider myself to be a Ship Critic and someone who takes shipping rather seriously.
What I mean by this is, I like to analyze and break down romantic relationships between fictional characters because it's just interesting to write for me. I especially take delight in friendly debating with opinions that I strongly do *not* agree with.
Let me start off by saying I am NOT a "this ship is awesome because gay furry sex lol" type of girl.
FAR from it. I'm generally more passionate about hetero ships between human characters (because I can relate to them more) among other reasons. So if you wanna dismiss my defense as "shallow fangirlism", you can forget about that lame excuse.
I fell in love with Hazbin Hotel when it was finally released in February and suffered waiting for each new two-parts per week. During that time, I decided to watch Helluva Boss as well, after a friend showed me a particularly soul-crushing clip (Moxxie's childhood trauma about his mother).
Tumblr media
Yes, I like funny sex jokes as much as the next goofy adult but scenes like this, scenes that carry a very heavy emotional weight are what really get me in the end, even moreso when VERY little dialogue is exchanged. I knew I had to watch the entire episode run after seeing that the creators had a talent for this.
I saw people asking:
"How did Stolas go from using Blitz as a sex toy to being painfully in love with him?"
Oh I can tell you. I can tell you the EXACT moment this is revealed. But it's not spoon-fed to you; it's quite subtle actually and this is why lots of people miss it.
See, one of the strongest talents Vivenne has shown me is that she REALLY knows how to get her characters to communicate their feelings to the viewers JUST from their expressions and body language. These can be 'blink-and-miss-it' teeny little scenes and it may require a couple rewatches.
But since people demand time stamps for all information others post here, I'll rewatch a few scenes from S1 E7 'Ozzie's' as I'm typing this.
'Ozzie's' remains to be not just my favorite episode of HB...but probably my favorite episode of any adult-targeted animated show outside of Japan (aside from S2 E7's Mid-Season Special)
It has this huge reveal for both Blitzo and Stolas.
We'll first address Blitzo's irrational, stalkerish behavior of Moxxie and Millie.
He's obsessed with them. He finds both of them very attractive, fantasizes about threesomes with them and is constantly inserting himself into their personal lives.
Why?
Because they have everything that he badly badly wants for himself.
They have the perfect marriage and he is trying to live THROUGH them.
Tumblr media
This was hilarious to me at the beginnning of the show but it's slowly revealed that it's one of the most tragic and depressing things I've ever seen. And it's scarily realistic too.
But you know this already so let's move on...
Blitzo follows the couple to Ozzie's but he can't get in without a date. So he calls up Stolas and yes, this is very low but he doesn't realize how much this means to Stolas (hell, I'm not sure even Stolas realizes it himself!) but the owl man is giddy with joy, he rushes over and they enter Ozzie's.
When Ozzie and Fizz mock Moxxie for being so sappy towards his wife, this strikes a chord with Blitzo (because they're his IDEAL relationship) and he speaks up to defend them.
NOW PAY CLOSE ATTENTION; THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART:
Fizz, still holding onto his past grudge turns on Blitzo to humilate him:
"Some nerve you got commenting on a relationship"
Time Stamp: 11:37
As Fizz says "-ship", Blitzo VERY QUICKLY makes eye contact with Stolas who has a look of panic on his face. Blitzo is seeking VALIDATION from Stolas in this sharp, subtle second of screentime, as if to ask
"Well, ARE we in one?"
Tumblr media
And then what happens next...Stolas remains silent, Blitzo's ex joins in to announce how selfish Blitzo was in bed with her, tearing him down further. Stolas stands up like he's going to put a stop to it but then Ozzie notices him and interrogates him about sleeping with Blitzo.
Blitzo looks incredibly ashamed and guilty as Stolas blushes with similar feelings...and hides his face behind his menu; HIS BIGGEST MISTAKE IN THE SERIES SO FAR.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Time Stamp: 12:24
The look on Blitzo's face as he grits his teeth and darts his eyes away basically says
"Yeah, I should have known...boy am I an idiot for trusting him to stand up for me".
Tumblr media
(look how SHOCKED he is...wow, this hurts fr ;_;)
Tumblr media
This is a silent betrayal on Stolas's part. Afterall, his reputation is on the line, so if he were to defend Blitzo, it confirms they are in fact, dating. He chose his pride over Blitzo and Blitzo is crushed by this betrayal.
Moxxie finishes his song and kisses his wife tenderly. Stolas watches this and also wants to have an affectionate moment with Blitzo (who is rightfully glaring daggers at him) and tries to reach for his hand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blitzo rejects his touch and suggests they leave. As they do, Blitzo still looks furious and hurt. Stolas is now realizing how badly he screwed up with a "What have I done?" face (13:41)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He even looks disappointed with himself.
After Blitzo drops Stolas off, he thanks him and tries to smooth over the awkwardness with sweet talk but Blitzo just rolls his eyes in disgust and pulls on his face like "I don't want to hear this bullshit".
Tumblr media
He responds coldly and curtly, "Yeah." Stolas makes more suggestions to spend time with him, which just makes him even angrier and he snaps
"I'm not fucking you tonight, okay!
Tumblr media
I'm really just..." (14:28)
he pauses to wipe a tear because at this point he can barely hold it together (top notch voice acting and animation directing btw)
Tumblr media
"...not in the mood, Stolas."
Stolas still tries to talk him into doing couple things unrelated to sex.
Tumblr media
Blitzo's face switches back to anger and frustration because Stolas isn't getting the message so he goes for the blunt tactic;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Stolas, don't act like what we have is anything but YOU wanting ME to fuck you, okay?"
(14:42)
"You make that really clear all the time."
Tumblr media
(again his voice sounds like he's about to break down)
"But I-I just can't do it tonight, okay?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Finally meets his eye)
Tumblr media
"...I'm sorry."
I believe this is code for "I'm sorry we're even in this situation and how your reputation got damaged. " Or, more painfully, "I'm sorry I'm such an embarrassment to you".
Stolas replies "Okay" and takes a deep breath to compose himself. They say goodnight and depart.
Tumblr media
An important note here is that Stolas calls him "Blitzo" instead of "Blitzy" to show more respect.
As Blitzo zooms away coldly, Stolas looks up at the sky with tears in his eyes, surprised at how much it hurts.
He then sits down with his head in his hands in anguish...because he's getting that
"Oh...no. These feelings are real" epiphany.
Tumblr media
And as if this wasn't enough angst, Blitzo collapses onto his couch at home, goes through the memories on his phone and starts sobbing.
Tumblr media
I'm going to be real with you; this is the most heart-breaking shit I have ever seen in an adult show of this type. It's also the first time a show of this type got me to cry.
The last six minutes have revealed so much information without spoonfeeding it to the audience because the show RESPECTS its audience.
To recap:
*Blitzo takes Stolas on a first official date to use him
*Stolas is extremely happy about it
*Blitzo gets humilated and looks to Stolas for validation
*Stolas betrays him and breaks his heart
*Blitzo snaps that their relationship is nothing more than lust-driven sex
*Stolas realizes he's actually in love with Blitzo and it's a huge problem because (he believes) that it's unrequited.
*Blitzo breaks down because the ONE person whom he thought would protect him didn't do so.
So these two are convinced that neither one loves the other...while the irony is, it's quite the opposite.
Because if Blitzo REALLY didn't feel anything towards Stolas, he would not have gotten this emotional.
Yes, they are both lonely...but I really don't think that's all there is between them.
So..........we know WHEN they started falling...now the question is why;
I think the answer's quite simple; single-target affection.
It was mentioned in S2 that Stolas and Stella did sleep together ONE TIME...but Stolas didn't enjoy it at all. He is stuck with a wife who hates him so much that she put a HIT on him...and a daughter who thinks he's a loser. Blitzo is pretty much the one person in his life who is able to make him happy. That one small, bright spot. He enjoys the sex with him but he also simply enjoys his company, as shown in Ozzie's episode. He is thrilled to simply talk to him about his day...and do anything else that couples do. They're complete opposites. Stolas is an intellectual but naive and sheltered. Blitzo is poorly educated but cynical and street-smart. Opposites attract...though this is likely more from Stolas's POV than Blitzo's.
In other words, Stolas is into bad boys xD lmao
In Blitzo's case, Stolas is the only character who shows him physical affection which he desperately craves. He's pretty tsundere about it most of the time...but I think he actually does enjoy that attention...especially when he's always getting disrespected by Moxxie and Loona..and quite a lot of people around him. BUT he's too scared to get serious with anyone because of past trauma and he also believes that no one could possibly love him as a person. :(
Reasons I Think This Love is Real
Aside from what I pointed out in the Ozzie's episode...there's quite a lot of evidence, esp from Stolas's POV.
After he realizes he's in love, he goes to Asomodeous for an ALTERNATIVE method for Blitzo to use so they will no longer sleep together. He wants to set Blitzo free. Which means he DOES truly love him because love is about being generous to the other person. He COULD be totally selfish about it but he isn't.
Asomodeous mentions how against love potions he is and Stolas agrees. He thinks that's out of the question.
'Look My Way' music video. Lol I don't have to say anything more.
In S2 E6 OOPS
This exchange at 16:57
Fizz: Seems your taste has gotten more 'regal', lately?
Blitz: Yeah, well unlike you, I fuck who I want WHEN I want. I'm not gonna be tied down to some big blue-blood asshole.
Fizz: You coulda fooled me the way Prince was cozying up to you at Ozzie's.
Blitz (gets very defensive) HEY! Stolas only cares about have a rugged peasant raw-dog him into his mattress, okay!
It's nothing...(gets hesistant and looks away)...you know...
(Fizz gives him a 'bitch please' look xD)
"it's nothing else."
Fizz: Then why were you even there?
Blitz: OTHER very important reasons of course.
Fizz: Whatever. I don't actually care.
Blitz: Stolas is just a loud, thirsty BITCH!
(Fizz is rolling his eyes again)
Blitz: He loves feeling the thrill of getting dicked by the lower class.
It's a novelty to him.
Fizz: LITERALLY just said I don't care!
Blitz: And then he'll call me and try to see how my day was!
And he'll pretend to care about me and comment on my photos laugh at my jokes...
Fizz: (Smirking) OH! That's definitely your clue right there that it's all bullshit!
Blitz: I KNOW, RIGHT??
Fizz: (Making a 'What in idiot' expression, shaking his head)
Blitz: HE'S JUST A FAKE, PRIVELEDGED ASSHOLE...
Fizz: Sounds like you just hate him for being a prince!
No one (laughs) and I mean NO ONE pretends to care that much just for a cheap lay.
All right. IF ANYONE knows what real love is like, it's Fizzaroli...who is in a very HEALTHY relationship with Asomodeous. He recognizes the signs because he's IN that place. He sees it...and he's annoyed that Blitzo keeps denying it and brushing it off...yet clearly can NOT stop talking about Stolas (amusing irony)
To sum up (this freaking essay lol) 'Stolitz' ABSOLUTELY has the potential to be pure and true...these two just need to communicate...or Stolas has to PROVE to Blitzo that he's serious about his feelings in another way.
There is no doubt that this ship is 100% endgame and is a case of the 'Earn Your Happy Ending' Trope. I look forward to the rest of the journey. Ron is putting my feelings about Stolitz in a perfect phrase:

Hi! Hope you're having a nice day! So, I love your metas, however, I confess the, idk tecnicalities? logistics? of a twist that they've been together the whole time still puzzle me. What would the narrative purpose of such a reveal be? Why and how would it be put into the story? I guess what I'm saying is I'd really, really like you to be correct but I'm sadly still skeptical that it could actually happen :(
Hi! Thanks for the ask. Hope you're having a nice day yourself. :) I'll give you a cheeky answer and then a real one, if you don't mind. @procrastiel also asked me to talk more about "no nightingales" and it fit into the second half of my answer here so this is kind of a combination ask response to both of you.
This gif below this paragraph here? Yeah, this is *not* the scene from 1.01 that, when decoded from their language, says they're having sex. I am not being sarcastic-- it is *not* this scene. This scene is in that meta (which is being edited, so, soon) because how could it not be, really, but *this scene* is *not* that scene lol and, yet, some people still find the idea of them sleeping together surprising:
Tumblr media
Anon, this is, like, the third, joint Crowley & Aziraphale scene in Episode 1.01 and that is consensual, mutually beneficial, kink. One that both has a sense of humor and puts a smile on your face, as Mrs. Sandwich would put it.
Let's thought experiment a bit here. Let's say this is the extent of it. It absolutely is not lol but, for the experiment, let's say it is. Let's say that they've never taken each other to bed, they've never lent each other a hand, so to speak, they've never anything else you're thinking of right now-- nothing. The most significant physical contact they will have ever had pre-2.06 in this thought experiment is holding hands on the bus on the way back from Tadfield which, as we all know, isn't a sexual thing. Anyone can hold hands and it was a long week, but let's say that's it. They would then *still* have a sexual element to their relationship and the show gave you that information in 1.01. What is happening in this scene is a form of sex. It's already in the show that they are having sex. Yeah, they're having more and different sex than this and yeah, there is evidence of it and yeah, meta finished soon, but honestly... there is actually *a lot* of suggestion of Crowley & Aziraphale sleeping together. For now, we'll just talk about this scene here...
Crowley liking to watch is such a thing that it's now a recurring joke on the show. You don't think that "can I watchhhhh" while he follows Aziraphale around the neighborhood in S2 wasn't Crowley self-deprecatingly poking fun at the fact that he's got a bit of a voyeuristic thing happening? "Can I slither over and watch you eat cake?" in Good Omens: Lockdown?... Anon. Girl.
Crowley isn't just scientifically intrigued by Aziraphale eating lunch. He's not just super happy that his pal is having a very delicious meal. He is very, very, very sexually into watching Aziraphale eat...which is to say that he's into watching Aziraphale allow himself to experience pleasure, in the face of the repression of the Heaven mentality... and Aziraphale isn't just indulging this in a one-sided way where, for whatever reason, he lets his best friend of 6,000 years get turned on watching him have lunch but they don't talk about it or something and Aziraphale lets it go because he's got no one else to talk to lol. Aziraphale is equally into this. It's easy to see why and the more the show tells you about Aziraphale, the easier it is.
Aziraphale, into Crowley watching him? Aziraphale, who painted every damn room in his house the color of Crowley's pretty, Va-Va-Voom Yellow eyes? Aziraphale, who has scene after scene after scene after scene of looking irritated and jealous at literally anything else Crowley is ever looking at and calls beautiful? lol That angel is into the undivided attention of the Serpent of Eden, ok?
Crowley made the stars in the sky. He's a creator and an innovator and an engineer and an artist. He's been on Earth since the start and has seen basically everything beautiful humanity has ever made. He drives one of the finest examples of human ingenuity-- his beautiful Bentley. He's seen The Pyramids and watched Da Vinci paint The Mona Lisa and saw first-run Shakespeare performed at The Globe. He has an eye for art and beauty... and he's the original temptress. It was Crowley who tempted Eve into eating the apple and when Eve ate that apple and discovered the pleasures of food, she and Adam created that whole Biblical fruits of knowledge metaphor by getting up to some other forms of pleasure soon after, so, Crowley is basically responsible for free thought and pleasure throughout all of human history since the Garden of Eden... and what drives him out of his mind with want is Aziraphale enjoying himself.
I mean, enjoying his food. Totally just his food. Only his food, Anon. *slight smirk*
Aziraphale is absolutely into that. Crowley likes to watch and Aziraphale likes being watched in that way. Crowley looking at him like he's more beautiful than nebulae and statues of Gabriel is attention that is absolutely welcome by Aziraphale. Two of his favorite things at once-- a luxurious, scrumptious lunch and a turned on Crowley. Aziraphale's ideal day lol. That angel is watching Crowley watch him and loving every minute of it. It's as delicious as his actual lunch. Look at that little glance over at him. C'mon lol.
Tumblr media
They do this from time to time. What do you think the results are? What would happen if you kinky-lunched with your best friend and how low are the odds that this is the only sexual thing the two of you have managed to get up to in the 6,000 years you've been on Earth? When one of you is a raging hedonist and the other likes to take beautiful things apart to see how they work?
This scene and its character knowledge is dropped into the middle of the first episode of the show with zero context and 10/10 no notes that was the single most hilarious way this extremely funny show could have ever chosen to do this but this is something the show chose to not only tell us about but to then provide context for in 2.02.
They gave kinky lunch an origin story, Anon lol. They were like also, you should probably know about Bildad at the ox rib special... you see, that hot lunch from 2008 actually started in *2,500 B.C.* when Crowley offered Aziraphale some barbecue and Aziraphale, who had never eaten before, ate an entire ox while Crowley lounged in the corner with a jug of wine and fantasized about being Aziraphale's dinner and before you yell at me, Anon, for sexualizing barbecue when really, sometimes, one just loves a good cookout, I agree with you.
Enjoying food does not have to be a sexual experience. I mean, I've had some pasta that could have given me an orgasm but... what makes ox rib cellar night sexual isn't how much Aziraphale is like omg food is delicious, I eat now, maybe forever, this is amazing. It's how he *looks an aroused Crowley dead in the eye while fully aware of how into watching him Crowley is and then goes back to enjoying his barbecue.*
Tumblr media
The next day, he's cracking Crowley up by using the ox ribs in their whole plot to save the kids by having that be what Sitis pulls out of Job's ribs. Gabriel and the angels think sex is rib removal so Crowley and Aziraphale are jointly, from across a room, like the previous night coordinating a kind of pseudo-sex to fool the angels and Aziraphale puts the ox ribs into the pseudo-sex, joking with Crowley about their own sex-that's-not-exactly-traditional-sex-but-was-way-more-sex-than-this from the night before. He winks at Crowley and gives him two thumbs up when he sets up the ox rib bit of it and Bildad was like do not laugh in front of the angels do not laugh in front of the angels...
It was absolutely an intentional joke on Aziraphale's part, poking light fun at their night of figuring out that they have a pair of wildly compatible, mutually arousing kinks that can bring them some fun and showing they have a sense of humor about themselves-- something that is on display a lot, actually.
Tumblr media
They're very aware of this and very funny about it and it has been going on since 2,500 B.C., Anon. S2 was just like Bildad at the ox rib special was the first time they had a form of sex, fyi, so yeah, that's why I would not be surprised if S3 has some flashback where they're semi-dressed in Aziraphale's bedroom or something and the implication is that they also have sex that doesn't involve food. The show is also already saying that they do and other scenes already suggest it but we'll save that for the main meta on this topic.
Ok, so my less cheeky, more technical answer :)
To be clear about what I'm saying here so we're on the same page about what S3 could potentially maybe bring... I'm not saying that there's a 25 minute long minisode that's nothing but them getting busy. It would likely be a bit more subtle than that. I say that and then also they did drop food kink into 1.01 and had that hilarious Newt & Anathema scene in S1 so who knows lol but basically, I think there's a flashback in S3 somewhere that is a little more direct about the fact that they've been sleeping together and for a long time. It doesn't need to be anything wild. It doesn't even need to be anything but suggestive of it. A friend of mine thinks it's my The Blitz, Part 3 theory but that they're in bed when Greta gets into the bookshop. All I know is that it's suspicious to me that the only room in the bookshop they haven't really shown us so far is Aziraphale's bedroom. Probably because there's at least some subtle evidence of Crowley in it and they're dragging that out a bit. The one thing I do think though for sure is that we get the vavoom-y first kiss and it being a bonkers amount of time ago, to re-contextualize basically all of their scenes that come after it, which will wind up being most scenes. I don't presume to be correct about details about stuff we haven't seen as I would not dream that I could predict the how, just maybe that I've got the overall vibes right at this point. I won't place any bets about how they'd work in a more direct implication of sex. I might on The Vavoom, though. I've got a solid feeling about that.
For the record, I wouldn't really consider them in bed a twist (as you might have gotten from the tone of this meta lol) but I can see how some people would. If your skepticism is coming at all, even in part, from a place of something like this just not frequently done on tv, I'd say, well, you might have also thought they weren't going to kiss, either, and *gestures in the general direction of Every and doesn't gif it because we've all been through enough* lol. The show is very, very queer-friendly and has a showrunner and actors who seem game enough so none of that is really an impediment to this.
Good Omens is telling its story out of chronological order, for the most part, for what amount to two main reasons: because it lends additional meaning to its themes and because it's fun as hell. The narrative purpose of adding additional context to Crowley & Aziraphale's relationship is to add to your understanding of it because your understanding of it is one of the main ways the show is conveying a lot of its themes. They are the story so adding context to the story to drive meaning is never is not without narrative purpose. By telling the story out of sequence, you wind up engaging your audience to focus more on what you're saying in every scene because you've taught them to look for the layers you're building.
Good Omens told you "no nightingales"-- had Crowley use nightingales and confirm that it's a word in his and Aziraphale's language-- in the same scene in which they showed you them kissing for the first time (and, for them, the worst time lol) to help bury the lede that this other scene earlier in the season is actually telling you about their first kiss. (By setting this up, they now have to show you it, suggesting it's in S3.) The other scene is obviously Crowley taking advantage of the fact that Aziraphale just asked him to play Cupid (and called Crowley romantic in doing so, btw-- "I don't think she [Maggie] knows how to conduct a courtship" implying that Aziraphale feels that Crowley does and that's why Aziraphale has run to his very romantic partner for help). Aziraphale is asking him to help the shop lesbians fall in love and Crowley uses the moment to demonstrate that romantic side by describing back to Aziraphale their first kiss as, to him, the epitome of romance:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Good Omens intentionally shows you stuff and then gives you more context that helps you understand it later. It spent two seasons getting you to know more about nightingales than Sir David Attenborough for the express purpose of eventually answering your question in 2.06. The question: do all these references to these romantic birds really mean that Crowley & Aziraphale are aware of them and the nightingales mean something to them or are the nightingales just a metaphor for them?
And even if a part of you was still going awfully interesting choice of metaphor since this is all romantic as all hell the whole time, you're still not sure until 2.06 if it's symbolism and metaphor and if the show is ever going to weave it totally into Crowley & Aziraphale directly, even if a few clues seem to suggest that they have been doing so all along. Like that "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square" is playing on the piano at The Ritz in S1 (implying one of them either asked or magically influenced the pianist to play it, implying that it's their song/a song with meaning to them/their parallel to Ineffable Bureaucracy's "Everyday", as we'd say after S2.) Most significantly, that Aziraphale in 1967 seems to be referencing it in a coded way when he tells Crowley that maybe, one day, in the future, they could dine at the Ritz, in a scene that's almost impossible to read as anything but a discussion about their relationship.
Cut to 2.06 when Crowley busts this out:
Tumblr media
The show is now like remember when we taught you that nightingales are symbolic of romance? Well, we had to so that you'd understand that here is nightingales being used by Crowley as the shorthand word in their language for their romance. We taught you that dining at the Ritz is the act of trying to live live a little more openly with that romance, as well as meaning to literally dine at the Ritz, and that it's a reference to the lyric in "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square." Here's Crowley talking about it. Here's him using the word nightingales in a coded way and Aziraphale understanding him. Here's confirmation of this word existing between them as the word they use when talking about this romance of theirs long before this scene in 2.06 takes place. Here's confirmation that they are in a romantic relationship with one another. Crowley using "nightingales" and Aziraphale understanding him means that it means their romantic relationship in their language... which means they have a word for their romantic relationship in their language... which is to say that they have a romantic relationship.
People do have romantic relationships without having kissed one another before or without having sex but do beings who kinky lunch? Probably not. No nightingales recontextualizes the kiss in its same scene for us the way that Crowley lifting the magic for a moment as he walked away in Job's courtyard recontextualized what had happened earlier in that scene for Aziraphale. When Crowley got Aziraphale to see the crows were the key, Aziraphale understood what had just happened in the scene. When, in 2.06, Crowley says no nightingales, it's for us, this time. Not Aziraphale. He already knows how to speak their language. Even if it's the first time *you've* seen them kiss, no nightingales exists to show you that it's not the first time they ever have.
You don't have a word in a secret language unless you need it. You don't talk about a romantic relationship with one another that you don't have. Crowley pointing to Heaven the way he did when he had Muriel arrest him and saying no nightingales is Crowley saying their romantic relationship, at that moment, felt incompatible with Aziraphale going to Heaven. Heaven means no nightingales-- no romance. He doesn't know how they can continue *the romantic relationship that they already have* if Aziraphale is leaving.
2.06 is not their first kiss; it is probably the worst kiss they've ever had and they've had thousands. It was desperation in the failure of surface communication and double speak alike both seeming to fail them in the moment. Aziraphale touches his mouth with a shaking hand after Crowley leaves and thinks about how he wants him to come back and do it again because imagine loving your soulmate for six millennia and it's going to end with that kiss. This is not a show that's going to permanently break your heart here. Everyone basically already knows how it ends and it's sweet. It's called Good Omens. You really think a show like this is going to make these two adorable supernatural dorks that are its protagonists have had a depressing first kiss? Especially when they're already hinting at how they're going to reveal in S3 that it was really the complete opposite of one? And that it was a really, really long time ago...
If you look back on the nightingales references prior to this, right, you realize that this word has existed in their vocabulary for a long time. "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square" was playing on the piano at the end of S1 so nightingales was already in their vocabulary then. They were already involved romantically in S1. The scene as they agree to go to lunch ahead of the end of S1 has Aziraphale saying that they should go to The Ritz and when we get in there and see them at lunch, we realize we've already been here with them in the first episode and that the show chose to only tell us in the season 1 finale. They tell you things and then add in context to give them additional layers of meaning later.
They dined at The Ritz in 2008 for the first time in 1.01, doing what Aziraphale had suggested in 1.03, so there are nightingales in the beginning, middle and end of S1 pretty directly. Aziraphale having suggested this in 1967 means that nightingales already meant romance to them then. It's *why* Aziraphale uses dining at the Ritz to describe having that more open romance as something he would like-- literally and metaphorically. It comes from the song, which was first performed in 1940. It suggests that the references to this song for them probably tie to The Blitz in 1941, which we almost certainly have a Part 3 to coming in S3. It would be a safe bet "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square" is in it somewhere. Whatever happens then will also wind up re-contextualizing the "no nightingales" moment and adding additional meaning to it that we don't yet know but we know enough already to understand that nightingales = romance.
But when Crowley says no nightingales in 2.06, he frames it by asking Aziraphale to stop and listen, in a reference to the formation of their secret language in the Job courtyard. In a reference to those other birds-- crows-- that hid the goats and formed the basis of Crowley's name. Nightingales and dining at the Ritz might have existed for them since WW2 as words but there were other words that pre-date it and by framing the nightingales comment in such a way as to also reference Job, it's a reminder of how their romance isn't new. It's thousands of years old. The crows were nightingales, long before they ever admitted it, let alone got a song.
World's hottest, most romantic buddy comedy, I tell ya...

Where the heck is Satan in Good Omens S2?
And could we perhaps find evidence of him in the places where the furniture used to be?
For reference:
Hastur & Ligur, 1.1: "All Hail Satan." "All Hail Satan."
Crowley, 1.5: "I never asked to be a demon. I was just minding my own business one day and then… oh, lookie here, it's Lucifer and the guys."
Adam Young 1.6: "You're not my dad and you never were."
Satan, 1.6: "No, no, no!" (He promptly dissolves into black ash and vanishes. Immediately after, Aziraphale and Crowley look at their no-longer-flaming sword and tire iron as if not entirely sure why they're there.)
Crowley, 2.1: "Do you ever think, what's the point? ... Heaven, Hell, Demons, Angels?"
Crowley 2.2 (circa ~2000 BCE): "Satan and his diabolical ministers..."
Gabriel 2.3: "I remember when the morning stars sang together and all the angels of god shouted for joy.” (emphasis mine. Lucifer/Satan was the Morning Star. Why the heck is morning stars plural??)
Edit: Shax 2.6: “I demand that you hand over both Gabriel and Beelzebub as gifts for Satan, our master.” (Could debunk the whole theory, might not only because she seems pretty low-ranked and could be going through the motions even though he's gone, but we'll see. Including to get all the evidence down.)
... And I think there's some other S2 references to higher ups and "Our Lord" by Shax supposedly, but I'm too sleep-deprived to go combing through for them (I'd be much obliged if anyone else could grab any other exact quotes that mention Satan by name or seem to refer to him in Season 2.)
Let's first get the Doylist explanation for why Satan might not be around out of the way: Satan was the Big Bad of Season 1. He's been dispatched. Furthermore, he's played by the most likely very expensive Benedict Cumberbatch, so he's not likely to be back in a hurry if it at all can be avoided, and alluding to him at all might just create confusion with viewers who will then expect to see Satan.
(Below the cut: but what if there's more to it than that?)
But as others may have seen with the, "Metatron is actively editing the Book of Life in S2 and that's why things are weird," meta, there's quite a bit of speculation going around that something fucky is going on in S2.
However, while I agree that some points in S2 are certainly fucky I'm not convinced on all or even most of the supporting evidence. Most of the explanations have a Doylist counterpoint like "It's just bad writing," or "They just wanted to bring back some actors they enjoyed working with," or, "The film crew just made a mistake," or "They just forgot that bit of continuity." After all, half of the original writing duo is tragically no longer with us, so there's going to be some level of story drift regardless.
While in general I find the, "It's not that deep," explanation more plausible in most instances, I'd be a very poor disgruntled English Major indeed if I made sweeping claims that the wallpaper being blue is always a coincidence. It's muddier with TV because there's so many proverbial cooks in the kitchen and plenty of human error to go around, but I'd equally never claim that I think Good Omens S2 wasn't a labor of love by those who worked on it, and certainly there's evidence that care was taken in its production, so everything that's off being a mistake is also not a sweeping generalization I'd want to make either.
Which is my way of saying that I'm not convinced by the Metatron meta but I think some of the ideas there are on to something. I don't think it's plausible that a writer would in S3 reveal that in S2, the heretofore largely off-screen character of the Metatron was actively editing the story as we went with the heretofore only mentioned once, never seen, and immediately denounced as a joke Book of Life. BUT, there is some fucky stuff happening that I won't say was the result of some Genius Mastermind Writer deciding it was a good idea to actively write badly and provide stories with no payoff, but I will consider that some of the apparent continuity errors might not be so accidental as they seem, because this was a labor of love and at least on this count, I don't think that Neil was necessarily that careless. Or at least, I'm more inclined to look for clues in places where I can see logistical choices being made, rather than in more subjective claims like "This bad writing is meant to be Bad Writing and therefore a Clue." Because writing is hard even under the best of circumstances, especially in TV and having lost the aforementioned half of a beloved writing duo.
Moving on! Thing is, if we're to believe that there's some sort of mystery hidden in plain sight that was introduced in Season 2, then it did not pay off yet. This makes me a little suspicious of the overall claims that there was a hidden Season 2 mystery, because a good mystery really should pay off within the text, and expecting the reader to keep their unsatisfied suspicions in their heads for 3-4 years for a later satisfying conclusion is... optimistic at best and downright sloppy at worst.
Unless, the mystery spans the entire show. If the clues we're seeing are meant to pay off in S3, and we assume some level of competence, then more likely these are series spanning mysteries that will be satisfying when one is able to watch all three installments. And that means, if there is a mystery in S2, we should be checking back with Season 1 to look for the roots of it.
Which is what brings me to Satan.
What on Earth happened to Satan?
Is Satan still around?
Now, my theory would be much more satisfying to me, personally, if Satan's name was never spoken in S2 but alas, there is the Book of Job episode and I believe some other mentions by name, mostly by Shax? I'd love some backup on that. But I very deliberately don't count demons just saying things like, "Our lord" or making vague referrals to the powers that be to be references to Satan because if he's vanished, someone could have easily filled the power vacuum or there could be an empty throne room somewhere and everyone is just going through the motions (or he's become the Sandman Lucifer who fucked off to lie on a beach, which would be delightful. Anyway).
When Hastur and Ligure showed up in 1.1 they specifically said, "All Hail Satan," and Crowley was shown to be an outsider that he did not return this familiar call-and-response. Yet no one in Hell in S2 uses the All Hail Satan greeting. The references to Satan are few, even in Hell. There doesn't seem to be a lot of fear of Satan either, but more around other higher-ups like Beelzebub, Duke of Hell, who appears to be the highest ranking person we see in Hell?
And also interestingly, Crowley and Beelzebub are both lamenting how pointless all of this seems. Kind of interesting for two individuals who still despise Heaven too and, presumably, took Satan's side once long ago when they all Fell. The political fire has definitely gone out of them, which can be plausibly attributed to the Apocalypse failing and/or the two of them falling in love with their Angelic counterparts, but it's also just kind of weird that suddenly they both really don't see the point in any of these conflicts that once defined their existence.
Perhaps, and this is where I go out on a limb or ten, because Satan isn't around anymore?
Is there no longer a hand at the wheel in Hell, reminding everyone of their loathing of Heaven?
Is there no longer someone actively above Beelzebub, telling them what to do, such that they have the freedom to sneak away and pursue a romance with an archangel and not have their boss show up to stop them the way Gabriel's did?
Did Adam, when he made Satan not his father but more importantly that Satan never was his father, undo more than we realize?
Because that's the kind of Gaiman mystery that I can wholly believe is lurking in plain sight, because Satan was a big deal in S1, he was the Big Bad! It's in the text! The damned book series is built on the idea of a satirical Antichrist take on The Omen. All Hail Satan is one of the first spoken lines of dialogue in the book. Satan is kind of central to any story that's going to revolve around a battle between Heaven and Hell!
And yet... he's barely mentioned this season. And demons suddenly don't remember what they're fighting for. How odd.
Maggie and Nina's actresses also played nuns of the Satanic Chattering Order of St. Beryl. If there was no Antichrist, isn't it possible that neither of those women would have become Satanic nuns and might, instead, own a coffee shop and a record store somewhere?
If there was no Antichrist, isn't it possible that through some convoluted series of events, Madame Tracy, a witch, fell afoul of a demon or managed to become one herself?
Isn't it possible that once you open the door to the ripple effects of a Satan who either never existed (though the Fall still happened) or who only existed up until at least Job, but who was never Adam's father, that some other fucky things could happen too, like Aziraphale suddenly not being fond of alcohol? This continuity detail is much more of a stretch but it is such a plot point in the book that Aziraphale loves to drink and S1 that I do find that particular continuity break particularly vexing and it's one I side-eye the most in terms of "not sure if sloppiness or a Clue".
Anyway, point is:
Satan is curiously absent this season and technically, he was unmade or at least unmade as Adam's father last season. If something is fucking with the timeline, I think that on-screen, very visible event deserves some scrutiny over and beyond vaguely alluded to, off-screen fuckery by the Metatron with no in-text confirmation at all.
There's a lot of weird and bad writing in S2, sure, but some of the continuity breaks do, admittedly, feel too big to be simple oversights and I don't think it's entirely conspiratorial to think something more might be going on and if such a mystery is going to span multiple seasons, we should look back to S1 for the seeds.
It is possible that the unmaking of Satan has had ripple effects that explain some of these continuity changes and some of the cheeky casting of S1 actors in new roles as perhaps not entirely without in-story justification.
So in my mind, the question I have no answer to, but that might deserve some scrutiny going into Season 3 is:
How much did Satan never being Adam's father alter the timeline?
Edit: And here's one last spooky quote to consider: “I remember when the morning stars sang together and all the angels of god shouted for joy." - Gabriel's weird prophecy / quoting of God
Why single out the reference to morning stars plural? Lucifer is very famously the Morning Star, you can't accidentally allude to morning stars in this context without referring to him, you just can't. So what the fuck is going on with this Biblically sourced quote that sort of alludes to Satan, but not by name, and makes the reference to the Morning Star plural?? And even though it is the original text, apparently, it's still a choice by the writers to really highlight the line about morning stars and give that line to Gabriel to say in the present too. Something is sus.

OFMD S2 EP 4-5: Izzy Hands (from a S1 Izzy fan)
I'll admit. I teared up at the Izzy shit in ep 1-3. Not a full-blown cry. But close. I was stressed, and tired, and hurt more than anything. I only cried in my car driving home. It hit, but it was more prolonged.
Do you know what got me crying? Izzy opened that letter, revealing 'For The New Unicorn'. He looks up and smiles. I went from 0-100 dry eyes to crying in seconds. I had to rewatch it because HELL.
The entire episode, hell, debatably from (S1ep4) we see Izzy go through it. Socially isolated and losing his identity. Leading up to S2ep4. Drunk and sad and heartbroken. He tries his best to stay afloat without a lifejacket as his self crumbles around him. He doesn't care anymore. He thinks his life is over. He lashes out because there's no one there to help him.
BUT THEN THE LEG. He cried and I cried during both scenes.
BECAUSE HE IS CARED ABOUT AND HE CAN HEAL!
GOD, and the way that leads into EPISODE 5. Izzy slicked his hair back and regaining some of his own personal identity. Izzy genuinely bantering with Stede, and gently helping him to be a better Captain. The way he desperately asks Stede if Ed said anything else nice about him? Showing that. Yeah, he's not all the way there yet, but he's working on it. The training scene where Izzy just looks on in fascinated horror at Stede's skills? THE LITTE OKAY HANDSIGNAL AT THE END WHEN STEDE USED HIS GRUFF VOICE? He smiles, and jokes, and TRIES. Izzy is pissed, obviously, but he's getting there.
He is kind and caring, all WHILE STILL BEING A PRICK? Him being a total nerd during the curse monologue? Izzy mutters 'rude' and pointedly crosses his legs as Stede ruins the vibe. I laughed harder at Izzy sitting at that desk than I did at most of the jokes in the show. THAT'S MY FUCKING BASTARD!! I'm so happy I saw a character and have been rewarded by showing, yes. He is kind, and trying, but he needs to learn to let himself become new.
I fucking love him. I can tell from the teaser that Izzy is just going to grow closer with the crew (and with himself) and I can't wait. (Even if it means his imminent capture, whoops).
I do think they'll do something with Izzy/Lucius, at least a single happy (Izzy no longer holding himself back from wanting) consensual kiss or genuine discussion about life(post-wedding) to show their growth as characters because I had to pause with the cig and shark interaction. Jesus Christ. I didn't really ship it before, but they are so snarky and it's great.
I'm a bit sad as Izzy's current arc likely means he might not get the big 'fuck you' moment of anger to Ed that Lucius got. Mainly because Con would make me cry, but If Izzy is genuinely just shoving this shit down, ignoring the years that Ed ignored his existence, then...idk.
They purposefully gave Izzy and Ed no scenes and thank god we get a TINY break. Because Ed will try to patch things up, and I don't think it works like that with Izzy. He needs proof that Ed is trying. Add to that Ed ACTUALLY saying sorry to him, and not expecting Izzy to immediately accept it(my theory as to why Lucius pointed it out: Ed will ACTUALLY say sorry to Izzy and mean it. This will heal something for Izzy, and hell). I can't wait for Ed to come back and see him. See him for who he is, a silly prick who is loyal to a fault, who is loved.
This is likely the happiest two episodes we'll get, and fuck, I loved them both SO MUCH. After a rewatch I'll write about the crew. Ed/Stede is actually working for me as we watch them both learn, and Fuck, Lucius/Pete...my darlings.
NOW FOR THE TEASER:
THE IDEA OF SEEING CON IN DRAG AGAIN MAKES ME SO HAPPY! Especially what it means for Izzy. Izzy lets his hair down and has fun with Wee John as he explores what actually makes him happy. Hell, him opening up to being a bit of a masochist as a joke while tied up is...actually my favorite thing (while obvious, given his propensity to put Ed before him in all matters, Izzy casually mentioning 'I like to be roughed a bit up' in front of the crew is the type of openness about himself that I crave). Izzy "cocksuckers" Hands letting himself joke about SEX-GAY SEX(probably)- Kill me now.
(To clarify: I don't think he or Ed ever got off to the abuse, hell, we see Ed flinch away when Anne/Mary do it. That's not the face of someone who knows what that's like as the Sadist).
I just love the way Izzy has so obviously relaxed into a person that he'd never let exist. Hell. I hope Izzy gets to rub this happier version of himself RIGHT in Edward's sad face. I need a 'he was never like this with me' moment of Ed watching Izzy SMILE to parallel Izzy's jealousy in S1.
Con obviously loves this character, you can see it in the performance. He fills the role perfectly, from his ups to his downs. Con smiles and hell, that's not Con, that's Izzy fucking Hands. Striding along proudly pretending his world isn't changing, because it is, and he is healing and I LOVE IT.
I am so proud of our growing Izzy loving community. For some, we've been through a lot of shit. Probably in life, and hell, maybe even in this fandom. Even if you haven't been harassed, you loved Izzy, you saw yourself in him, and I hope you felt the show giving us a big fucking hug.
We grow, we recover, and hell. We get a happy fucking ending (with a few yet-to-be-seen bumps in the road).

Theres a tumblr blog on here who has seen the entirety of s2 before release and they said this:
“If David and Michael didn't have wives I would have assumed they'd fucked at some point during filming because their chemistry is seriously unreal
the amount of sexual tension is fucking insane, y'all have no idea what you're in for”
I immediately thought of you cos wooooow
Oh, my, Anon. Well, I do think I know the blog you're referring to, though I won't link to it/the post lest people run across any spoilers they are not looking for. But that statement doesn't surprise me one bit, though it is absolutely delicious to have that confirmation of what so many of us already suspected.
On a few points, I will note that they actually don't both have wives, as Anna is Michael's girlfriend, but they are not married. It seems to be a common assumption, however, but it is interesting that after four years and two kids, there doesn't appear to be any sign of a ring. I don't particularly think that that would stop Michael anyway, given his past predilections and the number of times we know he's dated/hooked up with/fallen in love with co-stars (Rachel McAdams, Kate Beckinsale, lots of rumors about Lizzy Caplan, even though I'm not certain that was ever confirmed).
The chemistry and sexual tension between Michael and David has been evident and incredibly powerful since the first season of GO, so I would not be at all surprised if they have fucked--likely multiple times, and likely long before now. This also ties into what I just discussed in my response to another Anon, about the possibility of a polyamorous arrangement between Michael, David, and Georgia. (I do not believe AL has ever been part of this arrangement, however, and I still do not think she is, for numerous reasons that I've cited previously on my blog.)
I wanted to end my reply here with a gif or picture of one of the countless moments of Michael and David giving "just had sex" energy, but I find myself going back to one particular moment from four years ago. One moment that probably most people wrote off as a joke, but that now seems to have been a forerunner to all that we've gotten since from Michael, David, and Georgia in the form of truth disguised as a joke:
Tumblr media
How does that old saying go? "When someone tells you who they are, believe them the first time." And I absolutely believe that if Michael and David are lovers (and have been for a while), that is exactly what we'll see play out with their dynamic on screen in GO season 2. I truly can't wait to see it...

wip wed: emp s2 joel/jimmy
This one is "Joel puts up the mural, scott says 'okay joel we get it, we'll stop hitting on your boyfriend' and joel says 'boyfriend? what? jimmy???'" it's gonna be T rated and sweet and maybe out soon... and coauthored! with @that-tall-queer-bassist! be very excited, our powers will combine well! Working title: Best Buds Forever
Maybe the attention he got from fighting with Jimmy had stopped being enough - and maybe people thought he was actually being a bully, that he actually hated Jimmy. (Not that he cared, but it could be annoying.) Maybe he wanted more smiles and fewer frowns from Jimmy. Maybe he wanted to make jokes and see Jimmy’s eyes light up, see him throw his head back in his ridiculous laughter.  Maybe he wanted to just hang out more, to sit up till all hours in his silly saloon and talk about nonsense and just have fun. Maybe he wanted to ask Jimmy to make a baby with him, and maybe he was shocked Jimmy said yes, maybe he was emotionally unprepared for the consequences - and maybe he deeply regretted leaving their child on Hermitcraft, but there was definitely nothing to do about it.
Maybe he never expected Jimmy’s whole villain shtick to last more than a few days. Maybe he couldn’t stand the idea that Jimmy might decide Joel was his enemy, instead of the other way around. Maybe he was deeply unsettled and worried over Jimmy destroying his builds, maybe he decided he would do anything it took to keep Jimmy as his friend, maybe he’d had many, increasingly elaborate, backup plans if Jimmy hadn’t reacted well to the mural.

I'm a big fan of two characters being well aware that they love each other - no oblivious unrequited pining, no miscommunication - just being fully aware that they're loved back, BUT, emotions and situations being messy and scary enough for them to not quite know what to do about it and/or messing it up real bad. Bc in real life you'll notice - relationships are really hard! Even when the situation seems simple enough. Being honest and brave is terrifying! And reading other peoples intentions without bias is a complicated endeavor even for the most empathic and socially blessed
And I think that's whats putting me off about a lot of good omens s2 content I see on here, bc while I agree that they can both be dense in their own separate ways, Aziraphale and Crowley know logically that they are important to each other and that it goes both ways. But see, that doesnt mean anything in the grand scheme of things. That doesnt mean they know in what way and what that means for them. Someone can tell you they love you to your face and you'll realize, if you give it a think, that that doesn't mean you know any more at all about what that person wants from you
I think letting the characters know both gives them some agency and emotional depth beyond "these oblivious gay idiots cant see they're soulmates", which was charming the first few times it happened but now just feels so trite. Its also detrimental to the conversation we could have about the really fun stuff about characters and their relationship to each other - their values and way of thinking and saying things and how those will inevitable clash with the other's and create conflict!
The tension in Aziraphale and Crowleys relationship doesnt come from will-they-wont-they insecure pining. And it doesnt necessarily come from the classic fanfic miscommunication either. It comes from the fact that they have different worldviews and ways of thinking of their relationship, different worries and insecurities, that makes it hard to communicate. To read the others actions. And human romance would not resolve that. A proper consensual kiss would not solve shit! It would communicate to the other that they do, indeed, want to engage in that kind of physical human activities. It would say things about their desire and how human it is and how theyre not on the side of hell nor heaven but rather with earth and humanity because thats what they've become really. It might even make both of them more likely to listen to the other with good faith. BUT. Its not enough, not even close, to resolving that tension.
So. I don't want a fluffy next season. I dont want them to just TALK TO EACH OTHER! <3 and confess and smooch and merry second coming of christ everyone. I like a happy ending as much as anyone, but theres so much potential here to make this complicated and appealing, and if we're stuck on the level where we believe them to be oblivious to each others heart-eyes and 6000 years of gallivating I think thats as far as we'll ever get.
This is not specifically about gomens though I just think its unrealistic and boring to reduce all pairings to "theyre so insecure and/or stupid they cant see that theyre in love" bc while you can definitely have a hard time believing you are loved, in real life doing anything alone with another person will feel intimate and special no matter your relationship, and if you like them and they happen to hold eyecontact and ask you to hang out more just that alone will make the vast majority of people go "hmm seems like they might like me". What that means is another pickle all together. But you'll definitely consider it! And if you do everything together and are always referred to as a duo and save the world together and have little inside jokes? ...yea

Hazbin Hotel Post-Finale Live Q&A (2/9/24)
Interesting and noteworthy moments from this Q&A with Viv and some of the voice actors:
Viv starts by introducing the cast members - Erika (Charlie), Blake (Angel Dust), Amir (Alastor), Jessica (Lute), and Joel (Valentino)
When asked their toughest scene to record, Erika says scenes in which Charlie is very passionate and has lots of ideas! Jessica's hardest scenes are fight scenes.
Blake's toughest scene to record was the scene with Angel and Val in Episode 4; Joel agrees that the episode was definitely a challenge because it shows a much darker side to Valentino compared to Episode 2, and deals with topics such as physical and emotional abuse
Amir says he and Alastor both wear smiles while saying shitty things to people lol, and he likes fucking with people
Viv says she has a bit of herself in all of her characters, but she's mostly a mix between Charlie and Vaggie
Erika: "There's a little egg boi in me right now, wait what."
When asked which character besides theirs they'd wanna know more about, Joel says Susan, Amir says Lute, Erika says St. Peter, Jessica says Lute and Velvette, Blake says Zestial
Amir smiles and says something kinda rude to Jessica, and Erika exclaims "You just Alastored!"
Amir talks for two full minutes about how much he appreciates that the aroace community feels so represented by Alastor! Amir and Viv spend another three minutes discussing Alastor's asexuality, how that impacts his character, and the importance of the "ace in the hole" joke re: the difference between a character being aroace-coded vs being canonically aroace
Lute's name comes from the word "Lieutenant" bc she's second-in-command of the Exorcist Army
When asked which duet they might wanna see in future seasons, Blake says Alastor and Niffty (he's "obsessed" with them); Jessica and Erika agree with him.
Amir says he wants a Lute solo! Later, he says he also wants a Charlie and Lilith duet!
Joel says he wants to do a "fucked up Val and Angel Dust song"; Blake agrees
Amir and Viv agree that Alastor listens to jazz!
Erika: "Women singing in harmony always wins." (and she's correct!)
Amir singing both parts in Loser, Baby lol
Viv says Vox and Val are technically not dating, they have more of a weird on-again, off-again situationship; she confirms we'll see more of Vox and Val's relationship in S2
Viv says the Vees have a "chaotic queer friendship" and that Velvette is a third wheel, but the other Vees still value her a lot
Viv says Velvette is the "brains" of the Vees, and the glue between Vox and Val
Erika and Blake do a trust fall, but Erika thinks they "could have done it harder"
Viv announces that they've begun recording Season 2, and there will be some new characters!
Amir: "As long as it doesn't decrease my screen time."

THOUGHTS ON THE FINALE?? bc it was a lot for suuree
| any thoughts on the last 2 episodes??? i sure do have mine i was like wth throughout the whole thing😭 |
apologies for the radio silence 🫡 i've been busy and also not very enthusiastic about discussing this show, lol. been in the process of packing up my autism and moving it over to transformers.
anyways sure i'll give my thoughts.
as my friend who i was watching the eps with said during ep7, "this version of hazbin hotel where women exist is a lot more interesting"
ep7 was probably the most tolerable character-wise even though it suffered from the same general pacing problems that we saw throughout the rest of the season. charlie felt like an actual character who experienced inner turmoil, and while i didn't like "out for love" very much as a song, the sequence itself was solid. carmilla badly needed more presence in the story for how much they treated her as an important character, though.
i'll also say that i think rosie is the most likable character in the show period. she has a cute design and a charismatic personality, and i wish she had shown up earlier. it was weird that she and alastor acted as if they had just reunited when they saw each other in ep3, though.
the final battle was disappointing all around for both obvious and non-obvious reasons. vaggie badly needed a big heroic moment, but she was fighting lute (who simply does not feel like a real threat) for so much of it that her actions during that part of the episode had very little impact. especially since she was the one to figure out how angels can be killed in ep7 (which was admittedly a plot point that did not need to exist, aside from it facilitating charlie and alastor's deal, but i digress).
i also am pretty miffed that charlie only got one or two good hits in on adam before needing to be saved by lucifer. it was like they couldn't decide whether they wanted to do a team-up or to give lucifer a moment showing off how powerful he is to be able to fight adam one-on-one.
i don't know if there's anything for me to say about what they did to pent that hasn't already been said. i doubt he's going to be relevant in s2, but even if he is, i really don't care. it's baffling incompetent to treat a character death as a comedy beat one moment and then dramatic the next. it winds up not making me feel anything at all. (and on a pettier note, i hate his redesign.)
i've never been huge on adam. his character had potential but was continually wasted in favor of being another shallow commentary on toxic masculinity (which is much too prevalent in spindlehorse shows, i'd argue. the issue isn't with the thematic choice but how vapid the execution is). i'm also hung up on the fact that he's clearly meant to look like alex brightman, but the writers have lucifer make a fat joke about his appearance. fatphobia in these shows has always been an elephant in the room but i feel that this crosses some sort of line.
i don't think i have much else to say? i could go more in-depth of course but i'd have to refresh my memory and i don't have the time or desire to rewatch any part of the season right now. i've gotten pretty much all of my gripes with the show as it stands out of my system.
this blog will likely continue to get some use in the future, but i'll probably be increasingly inactive on here. the silver lining of all this is that hazbin's success may, if nothing else, help pave the way for execs greenlighting more queer animation, but we'll have to wait and see. here's to better shows being made in the future though 🥂
ETA: oh and i've been calling twist villain lilith since 2019 but i have nothing else to say about that.

So, about max and her monologue about billy, it's not that I dont believe max could feel such a way or that it doesnt make sense (honestly I would be a liar if I said I haven't also wished my shitty brother dead before) but it also feels a little off to me considering how their relationship was presented in s3.
At first I thought maybe i had misinterpreted it, maybe max and billy really did hate each other right up until the moment of his death. But then i remembered this interview with sadie sink from 2019 where she spoke about max and billy going into s3

I didnt expect them to be best friends or even particulary close with each other (and I had a strong feeling billy was gonna die anyway) but I remember feeling hopeful when I read this interview, hopeful that we'd at least get to see a different side to their relationship, and I was massively disappointed when s3 barely focused on them at all.
But, the small glimpses that we did see proved that they were in a different place than they had been in s2
When max talked to el about billy she spoke in a lighthearted manner, she wasnt resentful, she made jokes, she talked about him like he was just her annoying gross older brother who liked to walk around without a shirt on and bring girls home to make 'happy screams'
And then, of course, theres the sauna test. She was visibly distressed upon seeing Billy in that state. She was in pain. She started crying. She said, "it's okay... i believe you... we're going to figure this out together okay" like she actually wanted to help him, save him...
And thats why it feels weird to me. Not because feelings are complicated and that a few peaceful months between them dont erase everything he put her through, but because she apparently went from we'll figure this out together to I dont know if he deserved to be saved in the space of three days.
And when I say it feels weird, I think what I mean is ffs a little consistency would be nice

My Good Omens season 3 headcanon, part 1
(This is strictly headcanon, not meant to guess how the series will play out nor trying to say that I believe this is how it should play out.)
PART 1 - Lucifer's rebellion in Heaven and Crowley's fall
Important themes covered: Crowley's character arc (why he sautered vaguely downwards, his trauma, his distrust of both heaven and hell, his past relationship with the metatron, his loneliness, how it all played a role in shaping the demon we came to know and why it ended up bringing him close to Aziraphale). Also: things Aziraphale doesn't understand because he's been blissfully ignorant and/or because Crowley never wanted to tell him. Also: "the system is broken". Also: the roots of today's problems in good omens started way before earth and the rebellion and Crowley's fall seem central to the resolution of the story.
* We'll have flashbacks about Crowley's "sautering downwards", or, as I like to see it, being unfairly turned into a demon: we get to see the heaven's pernicious red flags, maybe Lucifer and the guys (in my head Lucifer is absolutely 100% Gwendolyn Christie, as of right now I couldn't possibly imagine another Lucifer). (I love Gwendolyn Christie and I love her portrayal of Lucifer in the Sandman series) (I love the Sandman series) (and Coraline) (God bless Neil Gaiman)
* We get to see Angel Crowley still very naive discovering little by little the cracks in the system. And we finally get to see what were the goddam questions that he asked and were apparently so important as to get him into so much trouble. And of course we'll get to see who Crowley really was in heaven (not necessarily a famous angel). (perhaps we never get to know his angel name but at least something about his rank is revealed, because it was a Chekov's gun in s2)
* in my head, Lucifer is posing as well intentioned back then, before the Fall. It's like Crowley says in s1, Lucifer and the guys were complaining about labour rights and stuff like that. And Crowley just wanted to ask questions. So it's reasonable to assume that the movement led by Lucifer was composed of evil angels posing as good and of truly good angels who got mixed in it (hanged out with the wrong people). Then I guess they either:
--- get judged by heaven THEN rebel/ fight the angels, and finally Fall and go to helll, or
--- rebel/fight the angels, THEN they get judged by heaven and Fall and go to hell.
* if Crowley didn't know the metatron by then, he meets the metatron at his own trial. The metatron sentences hill to Fall and go to hell. That's why he couldn't possibly forget the metatron. And that's why Crowley says the last time he saw the metatron, the metatron was a big floating head. That's how the metatron appears at trials as we've seen in s02e06.
* we get to see bits of Crowley's trial. Aziraphale wants to be a witness in his defence, but heaven is not taking witnesses (or heaven is just being cruel in another way). Tldr the trials are a kafkan joke, nobody ever got a fair trial, and that's why Crowley fell in the first place. But Aziraphale never got to be in the room to see the trial or to even know what Crowley was accused of. Later, Aziraphale is crying, alone, devastated by Crowley's fall, as Gabriel sees him and comes to talk to him. Gabriel puts on his fake smile and reassures Aziraphale vividly that Crowley was evil, otherwise he wouldn't have fallen. After all, heaven are the good guys, and wouldn't have condemned an innocent angel. Gabriel also insists that, no matter what happens, Aziraphale must remember that Crowley is no longer the angel that he knew - Crowley was now a demon and shouldn't be trusted. Aziraphale is hesitant at first but ends up believing Gabriel.
* in my headcanon, it's only after getting to hell that Crowley starts to realise how evil Lucifer is. Also, the head positions of hell are taken over by the main evil fallen angels, and the benign ones are mistreated. Crowley realises that Hell's head office is hypocritical and never cared for the things they claimed to have motivated the rebellion in the first place. Crowley doesn't want to be a pawn in lucifer's evil plans but he knows he must protect himself. Crowley becomes cynical (feeling betrayed by both heaven and hell, completely alone and not knowing who to trust) and puts on the persona of the demon we came to know. Crowley then takes advantage of the fact that was very high ranking in heaven to demand to be sent to Earth duty once earth is created, and he's granted it. Thus the story begins with Crawly in the garden of Eden.
* there is something I'm not completely set on in my headcanon: did Crowley lose his memories as an angel? There is a scene in season 2 (when he talks to Gabriel) that can lead to 2 different interpretations: either he was just understanding what Gabriel said about being an empty house and looking at where the furniture wasn't, or Crowley was talking of his own experience having had his own memory wiped out but choosing to make an effort to remember everything, even if it hurt. I haven't decided yet what I believe. Perhaps even Muriel has also been demoted and lost their memory (I find it a very reasonable theory, actually). And s2 shows us not once but twice that Crowley doesn't remember people from before the rebellion (Furfur and Saraquiel) but it could just mean that Crowley was high ranking to a point he just didn't pay attention to lower ranking angels by then (he didn't even bother to introduce himself to Aziraphale and doesn't seem to pay attention when Aziraphale tells him his name).
* In either case, current day Crowley remembers everything because either he never lost his memory or he managed to force himself to remember everything. Or he remembers most things. I don't know. Anything can happen in this regard I suppose.
* Crowley's motivation to ask for earth duty is to run away from hell. Which means that he's finally relatively safe away from both heaven and hell. He's finally left alone. But then... He's too alone. He meets Aziraphale and they start to bond. In job's story we got to know his moral point of view: he's a demon who goes along with hell as far as he can. And with the back story we get to see why he's like that. But if he gets caught by hell, he'll be destroyed. And in the end he's really becoming a bit of a bastard. He takes pleasure in doing some relatively harmless mischief. And that's how he sautered vaguely downwards after, not before, his Fall.

S1e7 doesn't just foreshadow that Fizarolli & Asmodeus are in love , but the issues/resolution they will have in s2 (Analysis/theory).
1. First, we see an obvious pattern during Moxxie's song. Whenever it pans to Fiz/Ozzie- the word "love" is said. This indicates the 2 are in love .
When the song begins and it first pans to ozzie/fix , the lyric is:
Tumblr media
And fiz smiles and turns to look at Ozzie when "our love" is sung. Hinting how Fiz feels about Ozzie. Fiz smiling at Ozzie also fits the lyric "you make me glad". And "our love" implies their love is mutual.
Next...
" I love us just the way we are . WE DON'T HAVE TO PRETEND".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice how they frame both pairings in the shot , during said lyric . It's meant to convey how both pairings love each other in the same way (romantically). Aka ozzie/Fizz love eachother like m&m. Meanwhile it also indicates that Ozzie/Fiz are "PRETENDiNG" not to be in love (unlike m&m). BUT , by the end of s2 they will most likely learn they "DON'T have to "PRETEND".
Why do i say that? well the following lyric alludes to it.
"handle the rest because I love you."
Is the closing lyric of the song. The lyric probably will mean since they love eachother they can "handle ' the negativity they'll recieve for their relationship. Once again when the word "love" is sung: Fiz turns and smiles at Ozzie. Similar to what Fiz does in the opening of the song (except at the end Oz smiles back this time and they cuddle cheeks). Showing once again-it's mutual.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, (before the song began) how did fizz first introduce Ozzie : "Asmodeus himself... come on give him some love"(makes a heart with his arms)
Tumblr media
2. Ozzie and Fiz's s1 song foreshadows their hypocrisy and how it'll backfire on them in s2.
Tumblr media
Fiz/Ozzie's (anti love) lyrics come back to bite them metaphorically in the s1 dance number . Foreshadowing how their "hypocrisy" will also cause issues in s2:
" Singing LOVE songs in my lounge?... ditch the LOVEy dovey . "
What's ironic is Fiz and Oz while teasing Moxie. Sing (in the lounge) the lyric "I LOVE you" multiple times ,to one another. And then cuddle cheeks /act "LOVEy dovey" . They play it off as a joke, but they actually do feel that way for eachother . And behave in a way thay contradicts their own lyrics . When they sing "i LOVE you" their "HEARTS" even glow in unison . They pretty much act in the way - they tell Moxie not to .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fiz said he'd "knock out' Moxie for singing about "love", cause only "b*tches sing with the strings of their heart" .
But what happens after fiz/ Ozzie jokingly sing "I love you" to eachother ? well , Fiz is "knocked out " with a "stringed" ("heart" shaped) instrument" . The lyrics backfire on Fiz ,since he doesn't actually practice what he preaches. And is hypocritical. Plus, it's a hint that fiz loves Ozzie, like Moxie does millie.
3. The lyrics Fiz and Oz sing : allude to why they hide their feelings from the public.
"Singing love songs? ozzie's ain't the place for sentimental sounds. what did you expect from a proprietor like us? We have a saying that's popular in these parts : only little b*tches strum the strings of their heart. You wanna hang around this l*stful town? Ditch the lovey dovey or we'll knock you around."
Not only do people expect Ozzie and Fiz to not have romantic desires -given their stage personas being pro-l*st/ anti love . But, also the the l*st ring appears to look down upon romance. Because they incorrectly assume love and l*st are diametrically opposed to eachother.
4. They mock Moxie's song while performing, but when they aren't performing they secretly enjoy the song. They don't actually dislike the song, they just think it doesn't fit with their brand.
5. We also see that fiz/Ozzie are foils to Blitz/stolas. They show their similarities to make their differences more prominent. Blitz/Fiz are both (ex circus) imps who slept with royalty to elevate their careers .
* BLitz/ Stolas don't talk about romantic feelings. And their dynamic,in the present,is PRIMARILY based on l*st.
* while Fiz/Ozzie are (probably) in love but pretend their relationship is only based on l*st .
6. In the song People teased stolas ,saying: "A demon prince... are you sleeping with an imp? how the mighty do fall". So, how would people feel about royalty not simply sleeping with an imp. But royalty (who says they're anti love) being in love with one? Fiz/ozzie's relationship would always cause backlash (because of the hypocrisy). But perhaps it'll be worse because fiz is an imp . He'd be dating royalty despite being the lowest caste of demon . Plus, fiz may be hiding the fact he's an imp (50/50 on the theory). But if he's hiding his imp status, it would be a huge scandal if revealed . It may be why Blitzo called Fiz a "sell out jester" (cause he's a sell-out for pretending he's not an imp, for success). The background details at ozzie's may hint at that. We even see jester-clowns at Fizz's performance , which could be a hint he's pretending to be one of them. Or at the very least, that he may be mistaken for one . The audience also has only the imp characters dressing like fiz: one wears a fiz mask , one wears a fizz headpiece. And one of the workers at ozzie's is an imp with makeup to resemble fiz's (they actually zoom in /linger on her). Which may be a hint fizz is wearing makeup (could be a scar of his though) to resemble a jester .
Tumblr media
The easiest way to tell if a demon is an imp- is their horns. All the imps there, despite their fizz costumes, all display their horns. But fiz hides his (whether for a better clown aesthetic ,to hide he's an imp, or to cover up an old horn injury). It appears Fiz dresses/pretends to be a jester demon (like mammon's species). There is a lot of stigma against imps,so it's hard to believe fiz could become soooo popular (if openly an imp). His image is on cereal boxes, posters + amusement park attractions , and he's comsidered a s*x symbol to the point they have love robots of him - which suspiciously ,none of the robot replicas have his imp tail.
My guess is,in s2, the newspaper article comes out, because fiz/ Ozzie may have been caught saying they "love" eachother (given how the word "love" pans to them often in the s1 song). And the "love-scandal" may cause reporters to look further into fiz's past and discover he's secretly an imp (if he was hiding that fact) .

re: jensen joking abt misha + the spnwin finale i feel like (based on what we've heard about them talking about it and deciding it wasn't the right time for cas to come back) that he's just being a lil shit and teasing / exaggerating that conversation. like i could see them discussing the finale and jim + alex coming back and misha going "oh are you thinking of bringing cas back too because i'd be down for that" and jensen being like "hmmm not sure if it's the right time for cas to come back yet"(because he's already got other bigger plans for a s2 or beyond). and after all the joking in that clip jensen does say there's a reasons for not having cas come back yet which we'll find out about if there's more spnwin. so while yea his joking felt a little mean i'm sure it's not really at all how that actual conversation went down and we know they like to tease and be little shits to each other sometimes
yes i agree with all of this. i don’t think that the entire conversation went like misha saying he’s free and jensen just laughing and saying no i’m okay.

I wanna say this once and get this thought out there. I don't think Benedict has the qualities of book Colin. I get why people say that, I do! But the basis for which Benedict "takes" Colin's book personality is sparse at best. The arguments:
1) Colin is said to be the favorite brother in the books.
• Colin argues this in his very first scene of the show. He has an apparent need to be liked, and whether showverse Colin is the favorite or not is debatable (also noted by the fact we haven't gotten a ton of 1-on-1 family moments with him specifically)-which is something that ties into the next point
2) That scene of Benedict and Eloise in season 1, smoking
• "Eloise and Colin are said to have a close relationship in the books." Excuse me...Where?! Colin literally says they got close the recent year BECAUSE of Penelope [book quote somewhere that says-she was annoying and a nuisant little sister, but he was much closer with Daphne growing up]-That tracks in showverse, honestly; Daphne is around Anthony much of season 1, who acts as her protector as they disagree the whole way, we rarely see her with Benedict, and we have that 1 scene between Colin and Daphne; Colin probably is her actual favorite brother in the show...
• Colin and Eloise fight like crazy, but we haven't gotten to see it yet...BECAUSE it only makes sense for this season. A huge part of why the bicker in Romancing Mister Bridgerton specifically is because of Colin's belief she is LW, and is presumed to occur in season 3 because Eloise and Penelope had a falling out.
• Lastly, Colin smoking with Eloise would make no sense for that scene. I feel people forget that Colin and Penelope are an ENTIRE 10 years younger than their book counterparts; this is necessary because of the year(s) the books take place. That changes a lot! Colin at 22 would never smoke with El. Colin at 33...might! Colin is not the careless, joke-cracking, pot-stirrer we see in the book; because he hasn't been worn-down and jaded, being pressured endlessly by his mother to settle down when he hasn't even figured out his own purpose yet. But we do see some hints in this character in some moments, primarily s2 when he's "feeding the ducks." (I could talk about the effects of Marina and how this contributes to get him to this similar jaded point as in book 4..) Benedict is near..er to 33 and he has some of these characteristics, for sure! Eloise is able to have this moment with Ben for development, and to have that sibling relationship with him and still have moments upcoming with Colin that also have threads of similarities between the two relationships, while acting as it's own sepatate bond with it's own established differences. ...Colin is not a rake, because he is not at the point of RMB, which brings me to...
3) Any example of Benedict being a rake (book Colin would have done this)
• see point above
4) Also, Benedict's shared doubt (in his case for his art) to Colin's lack of purpose.
• Anthony, Benedict, and Colin all have qualities that they share as we've seen. They all have similar struggles between them, while having their own nuances that distinguish them from one another..Lack of purpose, discern for status, and male role in family and society are all things that plague them; they just have distinct specificities that make each journey unique. We have seen Anthony, we will see Colin, and Benedict will be shown continuing to struggle with his art and how he feels about himself...all 3 with common threads. We'll probably see Benedict propose to a wrong person, too at this point..jk.

Opinion on the LIs of MCL New Gen
I WAS RIGHT ABOUT RED SHADOW LEGEND. Anyways, here are my two cents about the characters, their designs and hopes I have for their routes.
Devon
I really love his eyes full of wonders, since you have to be extrovert and always searching for new ideas when you work in event management (how to market it, how to please both the clients and the people you're going to source the project to, finding catchy sentences or downright awful puns) but I love his hands even more, the way the interior is lighter, his long fingers, it reminds me of Mahershala Ali's hands and I hope he was one of the models to create the character. His hair are also a nice touch, especially the colors blending ! Seeing him in bright colors is refreshing, he seems fun and full of peps ! Sure black clothes give a more classy vibe, but we're managing events not burials. And do you even know how bright are the colors of some African clothes (search for dashikis, they are amazing and bright and joyful and...) ? I'm overall really happy to see a black man not bald nor fully dressed in black because god forbid they wear colors.
I'm hoping for a route like Rayan's, with a bit of conflict because dating your boss can lead to a lot of inequalities and risks for the low-rank involved, but I'm pretty sure we won't get a lot of dramas this season (apart coming from players who are so chronically online they can't not play a game that will make them miserable but that's another issue). I think he might have an ex ? Or past relationships that failed because his balance between work and personal life is bad ? Maybe Candy and her freshness/ability to surprise him and take him out to touch grass will be the balance he needs ? Honestly I'm hoping for praises from him, awful puns, dad jokes and a lot of complicity.
Roy
Oh, is he gonna be the Castiel of the game, but more chill ? People seem to love him a lot already and I can't fault them, he's handsome, looks nice and has tattoos (you can see it on his right shoulder, the black strip). His long hair looks very nice to braid, and I can just picture him as the outdoor guy, the one who always want to see the places the events are gonna take place since he's probably very good with spatial thinking !
He looks a bit "bland" at first sight, but I'm sure he'll show another side, probably more caring once he notices MC is not here to only get in his pants. He looks like he'd listen to any rant without taking side and just feed you until the anger dies down. Himbo maybe ? We'll see ! But he looks like the most gentlemanly of them all and I'm sure he'll be the one to ask Candy out first, probably after a date to the beach or so. Dake style but less flirty ? he's my least liked LI so I have a hard time thinking about possibilities about him.
Amanda
Oooooh she looks like a Targaryan !! Joke aside, she looks preppy enough and is probably the most down to earth of them all (and not just because she's a Taurus). I'm thinking that maybe, she'll get Yeleen's kind of personality ? The fair but harsh one ? She'll get the job done for sure, and the color palette is really soft and fashionable. Having a plus size LI is already a remarkable step forward, but making her so pretty AND dateable ? Now that's improvement.
And I can already picture people saying "they'll ruin the wlw romance like they did with Priya" but Jesus Christ and all his Apostles combined, didn't you notice Chino wasn't the one managing it ? That all the mistakes you blame on her are actually Uncoven's creators' mistakes ? That they sabotaged everything (MCL, Elda S2) just because they were so woke and so enlightened ?? Now that they're out of it, I'm pretty sure we'll finally have nice things, and without misandry nor biphobia. I'm hoping an enemies or rivals to lovers with her, just like I hoped one with Yeleen uwu.
Thomas
I WAS RIGHT ABOUT HIM FROM THE START. Ok time to be serious, his design is really nice, the high cheekbones, the milky white skin, he lost his freckles but gained piercing eyes looking directly in your soul and his curls look so nice to ruffle. He has the most guarded pose out of the four and is skinny, which gives us two "no six pack abs" characters (thank Gods beemoov). I don't know if he still plays the guitar, but that could be one of his special interests along a lot of things we need to discover about him.
My guess is that, as we saw him being precocious, he's neuroD and will be the harshest without meaning harm. You ask him something and he answers the raw truth, which could give a very good dynamic depending on the Candy's personality, which could also give us an interesting dynamic when dating or falling in love ? Like not touching but hesitantly grabbing her sleeve between two fingers, or gifts, or stuttering, or all of the above. I just hope he's aloof enough for Candy to have to "run after him" (no harassment involved) just to show him she cares about him, and so he could open up at his own rhythm. A soft slowburn or an abrupt hook up ? I don't know, I hope he surprises me a lot !
