It has gotten really bad. These kids have put everything into this show, even their relationships (both platonic and romantic) and that is how you repay them?

I didn’t think they would address this, I lost hope after last week but I am so glad they’re going too.

Someone send Seb after Miss. Jenn please, let him rip into her, he would do very well.

Miss. Jenn is supposed to be the role model and she just told a kid to jump off something high.

nina has been a godsend this episode, props to her!

haven’t been the biggest nini fan this season (off and on for me), but she was very behaved this episode.

I liked the episode. Didn’t love it, but liked it. I really wish we got to see more acting, like we didn’t even see Big Red and E.J go on stage. Not even the iconic yellow dress. Some of the drama is so unnecessary, like why Mike and Jenn? What is with the Kourtney and Howie drama the writers insist on having, can’t they just be happy?

Besides the whole harness incident (burn that harness and mask it is causing so many problems) the production went very well, too well. This is East High we’re talking about.

Winter! Even if I’ve never experienced snow or winter before, the whole idea of snow is just really fun and endearing to me. One of my bucketlists is to see snow in real life. I think it has to do with the fact that I’ve always been this person to prefer the cold over heat.

what made you enter tumblr?

I’ve always been here! Just not in kpop tumblr. I’ve since deleted my old accounts and shame but i came back to write. It’s always been so stress-relieving to me, to write without any expectations on my back because I’m thinking about grades or a competition. Also Soobin simping is a daily thing and I gotta release it somewhere man

are you happy with where you are in life right now? why or why not?

Yes. I may not be the richest or the prettiest, or smartest or whatever, but I have a good family that loves me. I have good friends that support me and I have TXT and BTS to help me cope when things get overwhelming. I have a job that gives me a little bit of income (it’s not too common for college students here to get jobs like in the US, most of them just focus on acads) and all the means to continue my education amidst the pandemic. So really, I’m grateful for where I am now.

to see the boys in real life but for it to happen only once in your lifetime, or to meet the boys via online fan meeting as many times as you can in your lifetime? why?

Why do you have to do me dirty cj,,,,, prolly online. I may not get to hug them or anything but I get to talk to them still. As may times as I want to. And as a girl whose sanity literally just depends on Soobin giggles rn it’ll be very therapeutic to me to see them and talk to them as much as I could, even just through a screen.

[Hero Magazine] Hyukoh are the South Korean indie superstars leaving K-pop in their wake

It’s safe to say that South Korea is better known for it’s proximity to North Korea than it is for its indie scene. So it was a pretty big deal when Hyukoh stormed the charts back in 2015, seemingly coming out of nowhere as the perfect antidote to the formulaic K-Pop that dominates South Korea’s airwaves.

Raised in various cities across China (Jilin, Shenyang and Beijing), Hyukoh founding member Oh Hyuk relocated to South Korea in 2012 after finishing high school – in rebellion of his parents strong opposition to his rock ‘n’ roll ambitions – and dedicated himself to music-making.

Initially forming Hyukoh as a solo project in 2014, Hyuk eventually decided to recruit guitarist Lim Hyunjae, drummer Lee Inwoo, and bassist Im Dong Geon. An appearance on the TV show Infinite Challenge propelled Hyukoh to South Korean mega-stardom and the band stormed the charts, leading to sold out shows and a number one single. Offering something more organic than their K-Pop counterparts, Hyukoh’s sound is a blend of 90s indie rock and contemporary shoegaze with Hyuk’s vocal as its centrepiece. The band’s debut record, 23 (corresponding to the band’s age), finds them really coming into their own, its confidence is unwavering and on tracks like Wanli the band have really hit their sonic stride – you can almost feel the mountains overlooking Seoul this time around.

Russell Dean Stone: Have your parents changed their mind about you making music professionally now that things are going so great? Oh Hyuk: Yes, they totally support me now.

Were you surprised at the success of Hyukoh? OH: I knew it would happen. I had a thing in my mind that one day it would be successful but I never expected it to be so soon.

Did the speed of your success put a lot of pressure on you? Was it a big lifestyle adjustment to go from being anonymous to a nationally famous band almost overnight? OH: There was a lot of pressure. The people that listen to our music changed from this particular, specific audience to unspecific masses. I needed to process and try to understand and accept that fact in my mind. My lifestyle became more simple, a little bit more boring perhaps. I cannot go to places with lots of people freely like I used to and things that were so ordinary before aren’t ordinary anymore. However, I was never much of a fan for crowded places to begin with and I do like to focus on only a few things, so it isn’t too inconvenient for me.

What has success changed? OH: Musically, it hasn’t changed anything. Back in the day there would be limitations, especially when making music, but now, since we have that budget or that money, we get to explore more options. We get to do what we want to now.

What’s it like having such a fierce fanbase? OH: It feels great to have fans. We’re in an almost symbiotic relationship, I give them the best performance or the best music I can do in the moment and the fans love us back and they basically make it possible for us to do the music.

Why did you gravitate to playing the style of music that you do? OH: Of course there would be some inspirations I got or influences I got from the music I listened to growing up. It’s not so much that I chose a certain style of music or a certain path of music that I do, it’s more like I wanted to talk about my story and I wrote something about what I feel like or wanted to say and it just naturally came out like that. The music style that we do comes naturally.

What are some of the themes you explore in your latest album 23? OH: The album talks about youth overall, but the duality of youth, because I think it has two sides. First of all, just how Ryan McGinley portrays it in his pictures; youth is beautiful, it’s shining, it’s so bright and it’s endlessly hopeful. On the other side, when you notice that youth is not going to last forever, you have that anxiety or worry that it’s going to end sometime soon and I wanted to talk about that in certain detail.

What’s your writing process? OH: Sometimes with guitar, sometimes with keyboard, but I’m too lazy so usually I record voice notes on my phone all the time and whenever that gathers up I start working on a full song and pulling it all together.

Where would be the best place to listen to Hyukoh? OH: In someone else’s car.

Do you feel that you’re fetishised for being South Korean, that it’s almost a novelty that you’re not only South Korean but also a legit indie band? OH: In the big picture, people overseas are only aware of K-Pop really, so sometimes they expect something like K-Pop from our band. Even when touring North America this time, I felt like there was a mixture of audiences where half of them would be really hardcore K-Pop heads that came to see us and others seemed like they knew nothing about K-Pop but they came anyway. I see that blend and I still see that confusion among people about our band being from South Korea but not doing K-Pop.

That was your first American tour, right? How was it? OH: It was really fun but hard. It’s a thirteen hour flight from Seoul. I don’t want to be on a plane any more. In America we didn’t do a bus tour we flew from city to city and because of all the instruments and luggage and we were twelve people, the airport was hassle.

Do you remember the first song you wrote? OH: It’s actually on the 23 album as the song Paul. From what I originally wrote the melody has changed, the lyrics have changed, everything has changed, but it comes from the first thing I ever really wrote.

Where would you take us if we came to Seoul to hang? OH: For those who like to party, or people in music or the culture industry I recommend Contra, Cakeshop and Faust. If you aren’t a party person you could chill around Han River.

You mentioned Ryan McGinley’s work before, are you influenced by a lot of western and American culture? OH: I grew up in China. It would be hard to say I was most influenced by South Korean culture but at the same time I didn’t really fit into culture in China either so it’s a bit of both if anything. For my generation, because of the internet and technology, we all get to experience and be able to be influenced by all the musicians or whatever we can find on the internet. For my favourite artists they’re mostly coming from the UK I would say.

Ok so I’m torn again. Cause protection and ease of movement are super important, so like a breastplate and some kind of back protection, maybe a shield? or maybe a sick gauntlet arm like Ike from Fire Emblem cause he knows what’s up, and then some minor leg armor to keep the front of my thighs and calves safe and like a shield since those fuck am I right?? On the other hand: If you look like a Thot, the enemy is distracted and an easy target. I’m talking chainmail crop top, plate armor booty shorts, stupid looking heel shoes(?) for maximum thot energy, and of course a whip, either that i use or just have for the thot energy.

Ok so like, Scythe for formal occasions/when I want to just look good cause I think their a sexy as hell weapon, at me if you want to be I know I’m right. Battle Axes are cool and like, really useful during a siege since you can easily bust stuff down with it and it lets you cut spears in half so you look dope as hell, like, Hector of Ostia if you’re out there, yes you’re correct. Broad Swords are like, just in general really good, you can use it in a duel, a battle, a coronation, magic rituals if you’re really feeling fancy, the list is just endless, a real classic all purpose weapon. Spears are for fucking losers, fuck you if you use a spear sword fight me like a fucking real fighter or get out of here none of this reach bullshit. Okay okay. I'm an Exo-L and I used to be an Army but the fandom really hurt my feelings when I got into EXO. (Like fell in love but I never stopped loving Bts) I felt shunned by some Army who felt like I couldn't like Bts if I liked Exo. So I just became an Exo-L. But after seeing about Bts' new album, I really wanna get back into Bts again. But I find it really hard to do it. Maybe because of what I associate them with. But can you tell me reasons why you love them? Maybe I'll remember too!

Hey there! First I guess I want to apologise on behalf of other ‘armys’ who made you feel like you couldn’t listen to Exo. Unfortunately there is such a longggg and (very tired) rift between exo-ls and army and its just so unnecessary. As someone who listens and enjoys both groups, I believe that there is no reason for others to try and stop people from enjoying both! Kpop is meant to be enjoyed and fans shouldn’t feel like they get to control other fans! I hope that you can get back to enjoying both groups!!

I understand what its like when something effects you to the point that it turns you off from your interest. Sometimes people can be so mean and so pushy that its understandable why you would begin to distance yourself. Something I have always done in being a part of a fandom, is to keep myself away from a lot of the fandom issues- such as fanwars and toxic fans who have a little too much to say about other groups. ive said this a few times on my blog, but BTS are not their fans, and these ‘fans’ shouldnt stop you from enjoying what you want to enjoy!

why do I love BTS? for me there are many reasons:

1) Plain and simply- they make me smile. When i’m having a tough day, when i’ve been working late or something has gone wrong, i can watch a bangtan bomb or a run episode and they make me laugh so much. All of the boys are such characters that compliment each other so well and they all have a streak of humour that is just attached to my funny bone. like they’re just so chaotic and fun, they arent afraid to laugh at themselves and have a good time and that to me, is so refreshing to see. When I watch them, i just feel so connected and drawn in, they make me somehow feel a part of the jokes and i really enjoy that.

2) Their music and message. BTS songs really are pieces of art. I really love how active a role the members have in the production of the songs and i specifically love the way they use their music as an outlet to talk about very real problems that teens and young adults are facing as well as just addressing social issues in such a mature and intelligent way. Songs like no more dream and N.O from their earlier albums, songs like Paradise and Answer: Love myself from their newer albums… these are things that i feel like people like me need to hear. They have reminded me that i will be ok and that i deserve to be happy. They tell me that i am worth something even when i am confused about who i am/ what i want in life and they tell me that i am allowed to believe in myself. They use their talents to create these songs that speak to people and connect to them. When I think about Agust D and Mono i know for a fact that there are songs on those albums that have helped so many people (me included). but also songs like Baepsae and 21st century girls are just so so important too? As someone very interested in politics/class systems/society and someone who considers themselves a feminist- i just love seeing these things being brought up in music!

3) Their bond. The boys are so so so connected and that was one of the early things that really pulled me towards bts and made me stay. i noticed when watching their videos, just how considerate they are of each other, how much they look after one another, build each other up, rely on one another, remind each other that they are doing a good job… that they matter. Their friendship is so beautiful to see and for me, it makes the content they release feel so organic- they’re just so themselves around each other and its very real to me, they ways in which they are dedicated to the group. they are a family and they love each other so much!

4) They are good people. They run the Love myself campaign with unicef and several members have donated thousands to charities around South Korea. They truly want to make a difference in the world and they really want this difference to be a positive one. They’re so dedicated to giving and giving- and we dont see this often with celebrities really.

5) they are relatable. I strongly believe that groups deserve privacy and to have a personal life but bts have always been very open with their fans and i have such a huge amount of respect for them for doing that. They have been vocal about the hard times they have faced, some of their struggles and they remind us that they are just like us.Where they have opened up, they have allowed others to feel like they too can share their concerns and that is so important! And they have torn down the fan/idol barrier in so many ways and allowed us to view them as friends or family. They really care about us all and want us to be happy- they’ve dedicated songs specifically to give us this message and they never forget to tell us just how much we mean to them.

6) They work so so so damn hard! They dedicate hours and hours of their time to making music and practising choreography, even on their breaks they find time to record songs and covers for us, go on vlive, post on twitter and connect with their fanbase. But really the amount of work they apply to their craft shows- they’re comebacks are always so flawless and intense, I am always surprised and excited by what they are going to do next and they are never predictable! their music videos are literally some of the best things i have ever seen in my life- the artistry, the vision, the storylines…. its all on another level to me. Things are not half-assed. They make sure that when they want to show us something, that something is perfect and it really is always just. so. damn. perfect!

7) and that leads me on to the steps bts have taken beyond just music. They dont just give us albums, they have given us a whole world! We get notes, a comic book and short films all dedicated to a whole story-line of events that (sure is confusing af) but it keeps me so intrigued! I cant help but want to always know more, find out what I can and see whats coming next!

I think ive probably rambled at you for long enough but i just want to say that i found bts at a time in my life where i felt very confused and unlike myself. Bts reminded me of who I was and what I like. I have to say that Taehyung especially did this for me. As i was learning about them and i saw how unapologetically himself he was, how he was so optimistic and caring, how he didnt let things bother him, he reminded me that i used to be like that and that i wanted to be like that again. He and the rest of the group helped me find myself and reconnect to a lot of my emotions.

It was odd how you can go from being someone's number one fan to slowly becoming acquaintances barely sharing a relationship that was slowly growing cold. The relationship with Ethan was almost identical to the four seasons. There were the days your skin was kissed by the warmth of summer and slowly the days were becoming more and more like the colder season, not winter yet heading in that direction. He was the first boy you had been serious with ever, together for over two beautiful years from the moment you met him at his and Grayson's sixteenth birthday.

It was no one's fault honestly that you had grown apart, but it did suck because you were close to his family and he was to yours. You were hanging on to the remnants of a relationship that was stability and familiarity but how long can you pretend to be in love? When you were falling in love with the brown eyes from the farmers market that sold the best organic smoothies each second Friday of the months? With the boy with a gorgeous smile only adjacent with a faded scar that was years old.

When Ethan brought you to Bryant's birthday party weeks ago, you had bumped into the same guy. He was steadily growing more popular in the film industry with a large following, and he had such as personality you couldn't help but fall for him somewhat. Those little talks at the farmers market from June had steadily grown more important to you with book recommendations and words of wisdom.

Noah was merely a guy who knew exactly what he wanted in life and had a past that helped create the guy he was. He had similar traits to Ethan, but that wasn't what drew you to him. He knew you were in a relationship and didn't cross over the line other than meaningless flirting. He could see how you and Ethan weren't the same as you had been on your social media once he found it back in June.

"Hey!" You grinned at the ridiculously tall man. He gave you a smile that melted your heart while also making you feel guilty.

"Hey." He spoke eyes flitting behind you to the group of guys talking. No doubt about upcoming shoots being planned, "How are you doing?"

"Amazing. I've started my last chapter for my manuscript."

"I meant with the rumours."

The rumours had been long ago shadowed by the rumours of Ethan and Emma from the 'meaningful looks' to the jetski photo. It annoyed you with the comments surrounding it, but you knew that Ethan wouldn't cheat just like he knew you wouldn't. He, however, was watching you interact with Noah and had seen the photos by paparazzi looking for Noah. It saddens him your guys' relationship wasn't what it used to be, and he knew it was time to let you go.

"I feel like it's starting to dwindle down now that Emma was spotted with someone else. I think it was her way of putting some of the talks to sleep without vocally addressing it." You spoke with a small shrug barely meeting Noah's breathtaking eyes.

"Hey man," Noah spoke as a familiar body settled beside you just close enough to show you were together. Noah was flooded with jealously but also the acknowledgement of you being taken, "I'm going to go talk to Bryant. See you guys later."

Ethan and you both watched him join the conversation with Bryant and Gray, "He's a good guy. I'm happy you found him."

"What do you mean E?" You asked confused.

"I can't think of anyone else that would fit beside you. I want you to be happy."

"I am." You sputtered.

"When we got together I was completely in love with you. Over the last few months, we aren't the same." Ethan sighed shoving his hands in his pockets whereas you rested them on the railing of the balcony.

"What happened E? How did we go from being kids in love to this?" You questioned staring out into the fading sunset.

"We grew up. We grew together, and we went separate ways." Ethan replied with a quiet sigh of sadness, "I didn't want to break up because what if it's just a-"

"Season of our love." You interrupted with the smallest tear racing down your cheek.

"But it wasn't."

"It's the end of times for us huh?"

"Not necessarily." Ethan shrugged, "We can be friends. We've been friends almost longer than we've dated. I guess it was a good thing we decided against living together."

"Gray would have hated that." You snorted.

"I'm going to miss your cold ass feet at night." Ethan bumped his hip into yours while you leaned your head against his shoulder.

"This is the most undramatic Ethan I've ever known." You teased as he rolled his eyes at your comment, "I mean wow you're such as an old adult."

"Oh shut up." Ethan laughed loudly, "I guess we just broke up."

"So anti-climatic. Should we stage a fight?"

"Nah. I think you should go talk to him."

"Isn't that awkward though? We just broke up E." You mumbled leaning your head onto your resting arms.

"We emotionally ended things long ago. We just couldn't speak it into existence." Ethan sighed once more as he straightened up, "I'm not joking. You guys are perfect, you have more love and spark then we ever had. I think we were just meant to be fleeting lover-"

"Fleeting? We were together for two years Ethan, that's not fleeting." You piped up unapologetically.

"Way to ruin my mature moment of wisdom."

"My apologies. Please continue." You grinned despite the tinge of sadness coating the atmosphere around each other.

"As I was saying: We were placed in each other's lives to be fleeting lovers to teach each other what a real relationship should be. We taught each other how to balance time together with jobs and projects."

"We had to teach each other how to be adults. What real love is compared to angst-ridden teenage flings."

"I'll always love you."

"Same here E." You breathlessly spoke as it settled in, "Now Emma doesn't have to avoid me."

"There's nothing there."

"That was true when you were in a relationship. We're single Ethan." You ended with a retaliated hip check.

"Gonna miss you," Ethan spoke wrapping his arms around you. It was as if you two had just broken out of your cacoons turning into butterflies. You leaned up to press a lingering kiss on his cheek bathed in a language of goodbye.

With that, you stepped back from the boy that had once held your heart, genuinely until you unknowingly traded each other's hearts back. Only to give them away without realising to other people.

"I'm gonna go." You spoke walking backwards until you were met with the warmth of inside. Ethan stayed silent with a small smile watching as the sun finally set.

You scanned the room speckled with people speaking to each other along with Grayson watching you concerned as you walked away from Ethan. It often made you marvel at how connected they were in emotional. Gray knew what happened even if he didn't know if it was mutual or riddled with pain. Noah watched as you came over to him and Bryant.

"Happy Birthday Bryant." You spoke hugging him close, "I'm gonna head out."

"Is everything okay?" He questioned.

"It's perfect." You smiled staring at Noah. Breaking the gaze you collected your things to leave the place. You were taking in the fresh air outside only tinged with the slight smell summer. A new summer as he walked out behind you.

"Ethan told me to find you. Are you okay? What happened?" Noah asked.

"We broke up." You merely spoke slipping into your jacket while Noah remained silent.

"I'm so sorry. Was it because of us?" Noah questioned concerned. No matter how much he liked you, he couldn't live his life knowing he had broken a couple up.

"No. We've been done for months. We just couldn't end it. You know?" You spoke placing your hand beside his own hand. Pinkies brushing you couldn't help yourself from speaking more, "We fell out of love silently and poetically, and we love other people."

"Oh." Noah hid his grin even if you could feel the happiness radiating off him, "Who's this guy?"

Your hands intertwined, "It all started when I thought I felt winter coming. It all started in a Farmer's Market on a warm summer day."

DONDA

My first impression of Kanye West's DONDA was a flurry of 'what is this' and 'this doesn't belong here' but after a couple listens i finally understand. I'm a huge Ye fan, a stan even, but coming into his 10th studio album I had my doubts as an avid Yeezy listener. To me in the beginning it was an album of short Kanye versus and features that didn't mesh well with the rapper himself, until my 2nd listen. This is not an album it's an experience. The album has a super dark undertone, starting with the all black cover art, progressing to the fact that the album is homaged to his mother who has passed away and reaching the tracks. The first half of tracks are littered with dark toned 808s and gritty levelled vocals with the latter stage promoting a more uptempo, happy vibe. With 27 tracks it's definitely a marathon of music but in the most beautiful way you can imagine, it's been a very long time since we've heard Yeezy rap like he did on tracks such as 'Off The Grid' 'Hurricane' and 'Keep My Spirit Alive' and honestly this may be credited to the abundance of lyrical features included in the album, Kanye, a man of very few words, has alot to say on this album and I have to say it's very refreshing seeing the Chicago rapper go ham on these intricately produced tracks. As the album is 27 tracks long I'm going to review my top 5 tracks, buckle up it's about to get chaotic.

Lord I Need You; This is Kanye's ode to relationships and God. This track see's Ye head back to his soft tone singing transitioning to his fluent rap style that just feels so, Kanye. The beat is one of the less full intstrumentals on the album but it's used so well, Kanye seems to flow best on these {beats} where he allows the beat breathe and he does his thing, it's not rushed or forced, it feels so organic. Kanye raps to his lover about the trials that come with marriage and to not worry because his faith in God will guide them to where they need to be. All of this combined with the choir and the background instruments make this track a definite favourite.

Jail pt 1 &2; These tracks are just wow, let's start with pt 1. This is where the dark undertone of the album is set, from the gained guitar chords, to the chilling choir they mesh so well. It sounds like a chaotic mess that is meant to be together. Featuring a head bopping verse from Hova it really makes you feel like The Throne is back together, 'Donda i'm with your baby when i touch back road, told him stop all of that red cap go back home' from this bar alone you can see and feel the chemistry between Ye and Jay and once again feels so natural. Pt 2 features a bit more of a controversial one, which is nothing new for Kanye. Putting Dababy and Marilyn Manson on such an important track definitely creates a statement and a huge 'fuck you' to alot of people. Dababy for sure spits a hard verse where he adresses the recent incidents including his statements aimed towards the lgbtq community "I said one thing they aint like threw me out like they aint care for me, threw me out like im garbage huh, and that food they took off my table, you know that feed my daughters huh' you can't help but feel like he has a point, has cancel culture gone too far to where we can't say what we want? Anyway the vocals from Manson don't really contribute to the track unless you're listening for them specifically. As i stated earlier this track is essentially a 'fuck you' and I love it.

Hurricane; This is undoubtly the most popular track on the album with guest appearances from The Weeknd and Lil Baby, that's right, if I were to ever tell you Baby and Ye would create one of the best tracks you would laugh at me yet here it is. The weeknds dark, isolated vocals over those low 808s create such an atmosphere that is hand in hand with tha album cover. Then comes in Baby, the rapper spits a verse remeniscing his street days and transitions into his fame and riches. I think everything on this track is perfect, the production is top tier and every verse is perfectly suited for what the topic is. Kanye has strong feelings in his verse about how he is percieved by everyone stating 'here I go again acting too rich' I think at this point we just have to admire his genius

Keep My Spirit Alive; my favourite and in my opinion the best track on the album. Not only does Westside Gunn and Conway do their thing, although short, KayCyy hits us with an unreal intro that sends chills down your back and has you screaming 'KEEP MY SPIRIT ALIVEEEE' Gunn does his thing rapping about life in the streets where as Conway raps about his blessing surviving a car crash and leaving it in Gods hands. Kanye really shines on this track spitting a very 2006-esque verse that reminds you he can hang with the rappers of today if not put it over them. This track is easily for me, something that only happens once every couple of years. One of my favourite songs of all time.

Ultimately DONDA is a masterpiece, a musical experience that cannot be enojyed by everyone but If you can then you understand how the album progresses from gritty street rap and instrument filled tracks to airy, choir filled tracks that make you feel the faith of the lord even if you aren't religious.

Heart

After their heist goes horribly south, Michael’s worried his crew might not all come back.

(Kind of a different ending to their Let’s Play - GTA V - Heist video)

Heartbeats thundered in Michael’s ears.

It was his own heart making those sounds, pumping at accelerated speeds to re-oxygenate the blood as it was quickly forced back into giant mass of muscle after running through the streams that were only shielded by a layer of skin throughout his entire body.

As was proven by the dark stain blossoming through the clothing covering his right hip, Michael’s body had a lot of work to do.

He was running, cursing through rapid breaths and a half empty backback thumped against his back with his remaining explosives. He knew if he stopped he’d probably not be able to continue, so he didn’t stop.

He kept moving.

“Charlie One!? Come in, Charlie One!” A voice crackled over Michael’s still (miraculously) in-contact earpiece. He almost couldn’t hear it over his own thundering heartbeat and the blaring police sirens in the streets behind him.

“Ch-Charlie One…” Michael wheezed, swerving into an alley to try and throw them off the trail. He knew it would take a lot more work than that but it was a start.

“Oh, thank god. You alright there, Mi-Charlie One?”

“Shot.” He managed to answered, narrowly avoiding getting hit by a random car. It looked like it had seen better days. “Cops on trail.” He felt pathetic with such a simplistic way of response, but he was too busy putting energy into his legs and internal organs to focus a whole lot on his vocal cords.

“Shit. Charlie Two?”

A static filled silence greeted Michael’s ears and he felt himself grow slightly anxious at the thought that Ray had failed to get out of range back on the highway.

“Bravo One.... Bravo one is down.” Jack’s voice came over the ear piece and Michael felt greatly relieved to hear Jack’s voice, even though she sounded very pained. Michael desperately wanted to apologize right then but the sudden appearance of police lights at the end of another alley he had chosen to evade the cops cut him short.

“Shit-Shit SHIT!” Michael hissed, slamming to a stop and nearly falling onto his face.

“Charlie one!?”

“I’m cornered! Fuck!” Michael snarled, looking around for a quick escape and choosing the rusted metal ladder that was bolted to the side of the building as the cruisers parked at the ends of the alley.

“Location, Charlie two?” Geoff called out, seeming just as worried as Michael. Fortunately he didn’t sound in immediate danger. He was the only voice of reason in this mess.

“Don’t know!” Michael hissed, ignoring the agonizing pain filling into his leg as he scrambled up the ladder and threw his body out onto the roof.

“R-Ra-” Michael was cut off by a vicious cough as he rolled over onto his back and slowly got to his feet.

“Charlie Two, position?”

“I’m- Agh- I’m on some random rooftop… The cops are right behind me..” His breathing was ragged with both pain and exertion. Damn them all to hell, why did they have to flip over the fucking motorcycle!?

“Do you have any more explosives?” Ryan’s voice came onto the line and Michael shifted his half-empty backpack within arms reach and rooted through it, pulling out a small grenade.

“Yeah.. Yeah I got it..” Michael got an idea and quickly scrambled over to the lip of the building, peering down as officers flooded the alleyway. Six of them.

He held up the explosive and pulled the pin, dropping it down into the alley below. He quickly ducked out of sight as the police opened fire on the now revealed criminal. They shrieked in surprise and sudden terror seconds before it detonated. A large cloud of dust billowed out of the alleyway but Michael was too preoccupied with the new wound in his shoulder.

He hardly felt it, his body high on adrenaline and whatever chemical-shit his body produced when he went on a heist. A quick look seemed to clarify it was a graze, thank god.

“Charlie one?”

“Charlie one.. Cops are dealt with.. Any word from Charlie Two?”

Silence.

“W-What about Bravo two?” Oh god, please no. Please let him be okay.

“Bravo two.. Bravo two is.. Shit!” Jack’s labored voice cut off with static-y gunshots before a response came from Geoff.

“Bravo one!? Bravo one!?”

“B-Bravo One… Shit, I need back up. I’m in that damn alley.. Bravo Two is.. I’m checking on ‘im now.”

Michael would have held his breath if his lungs weren’t already expanding to full size to take in as much oxygen as possible.

“This is one shit show.” Ryan commented sourly and Michael growled a response.

“Maybe you should get your ass off that fuckin’ boat and come help us then!”

“What do you say, Boss?” Ryan asked, clearly talking to Geoff who remained silent.

“Bravo Two is still here.. He’s pretty fucked up though… Shit, more cops!”

“Quickly.” Geoff answered quickly. “Alright team, new plan. Charlie One, find Charlie two and get your asses to the boat. Alpha two, get team Bravo and bring them back to the boat too. We’re gonna get everyone to Mount Chiliad like we originally planned.”

“I.. I dunno if I can do that.. Alpha One…”

“How bad is it?” Geoff asked, not missing a beat. Michael hesitantly peeled his leather jacket and the red shirt underneath away from the wound. It was a grisly sight of agitated torn flesh and crimson blood that dripped down it and stained his pale skin in sticky red fluid. He cringed at the sight.

“I.. I think it’s a graze. It’s bleeding like fuckin’ hell though.”

“Where’d you get shot?”

“The hip.. Shit, I might just bleed out at this rate.”

“Fucking hell, Charlie.” Ryan didn’t even bother to use the full codename. “Do I have to come pick up your ass too?”

“No.” Geoff shot down the idea before Michael could even process a response. “We can’t all just group up together before we get to the boat, that’d make us easy targets.. Can you walk?”

“If the adrenaline doesn’t wear off in the next few minutes, I can try..” Michael didn’t bother to say that staying split up made them just as easy targets.

“Can you steal a car?” Jack’s voice came over the line again, clearly strained. Michael couldn’t remember how many times he’d accidentally shot her and that made him feel guiltier.

“Well.. I can give it a try.. But, Alpha One, I thought you didn’t want us to leave a trail?”

“Fuck that! Right now, you’re already leaving a trail with all that blood gushing out of you. Your lives are more important than getting away clean right now!”

Geoff clearly was not interested in losing his crew, even if it meant Michael’s own involvement could be discovered. Although, he had lost his mask back in the motorcycle crash so it was likely already discovered.

“A-Alright..” Michael took a deep breath and pushed his clothing back over the wound and climbing back down the ladder. He stepped over the debris and dismembered officer body parts before reaching a cruiser whose door was still open. “Thank god, there’s a shit ton of police cruisers out here and I don’t even have to hot wire any of ‘em.”

“Alpha Two, get to Team Bravo as soon as possible.”

“On it.”

Michael slipped into the cruiser and shut the door, pulling out and driving back towards the crash site. Hopefully the officers would have cleared out before Michael arrived. Officers usually didn’t wear leather jackets and strut around with bullet holes.

At least he hadn’t seen any cops like that.

The highway still had a bunch of officers, so Michael parked a good distance away and crawled out over the side of the highway which itself wasn’t very high.

He snuck closer to the crash sight, ignoring the large puddle of what he could assume was Ray’s blood. Ray himself was pinned to the hood of a cop car, struggling with the officers who were stripping off his guns. His white mask lay smeared in blood by the car and his ear piece was broken into little pieces next to it.

Shit.

Michael pulled out his special carbine from his backpack and pointed at the cops before taking a shot at the one trying to put the cuffs on Ray. Flesh and blood sprayed the air and he fell on top of Ray, the blood gushing out of his head mixing into Ray’s hair.

The other officers spun around to face Michael and he started wildly firing. He had the five of them down on the ground in puddles of their own blood and one had ducked behind a cruiser. The only one Michael hadn’t hit was the one who had pulled Ray up to use as a shield.

Ray was an absolute mess.

His simple choice of shorts and a black short-sleeve were ripped and stained in blood. Scrapes, bruises, and quite a few cuts marred his exposed skin and Michael winced at the sight of what was likely a bullet wound in his upper left arm.

He hated seeing his crew members injured, but it did fill him with a short burst of a rage that he used to leap up and charge at the officer, slamming the butt of his carbine into his face before he could move the half-conscious Ray to cover him.

The officer dropped Ray and Michael held up his gun and fired into his chest twice. The bullets lodged themselves into the cruiser behind him and he collapsed.

Quickly, Michael caught Ray with his free arm and slowly lowered him to the ground as the pain in his shoulder increased and his leg started to throb painfully.

“Ray! Ray, speak to me buddy!” Michael hissed, pressing his hand to Ray’s scraped up wrist to test for a pulse which he was relieved to find quickly. Ray weakly moaned in pain and opened his eyes, staring up at his partner with a clear expression of pain. One of his eyes was half closed, a pretty bad cut sending blood trickling onto his eyelid and sticking into his lashes.

“Fuck… Michael..?”

“Shit, man, I was sure you were dead for a second there..”

“Y-You’re shot..”

“Alright, so you can still see. That’s good. Now, can you walk? I don’t wanna carry your ass back to the boat.”

“Boat..? G-Geoff said we were headin’.. Headin’ to Raic pass.”

“Change of plans.”

“Shit hit the fan, huh?”

“Yeah. Everyone’s still intact though… Ryan’s got team Bravo.”

“Jack?” Michael briefly remembered how Ray had screamed quite loudly when Michael accidentally shot her.

“She’s.. Alive. She’s got Gavin.. We need to get out of here..” Michael slowly started to lift Ray back to his feet, only to cry out in pain as a bullet grazed his upper arm near his shoulder wound.

He had forgotten about the other cop.

“Shit.. Michael.. You a’right?”

“Shit.” He hissed, leaning Ray up against the side of the bloody cruiser. “Yeah, fine.. Just gotta-” He briefly used both his hands to lift up his carbine and he fired at the other cruiser. The officer had ducked out right at that moment and his throat and chest was quickly riddled in bullets.

“Got ‘im?”

“Yup.. C’mon, Ray, let’s get the hell out of here.” Michael let Ray lean on him as the two limped over to the stolen cruiser and slipped into it. The moment Ray was sprawled out in the back and Michael was sitting at the wheel, he stepped on the gas.

They passed by multiple cruisers as they went to the crash sight. The cop probably called backup before trying to take out Michael. Son of a bitch.

No one seemed to question the cruiser (it was relatively normal looking despite what it’s previous owners now looked like in an alleyway somewhere) and Michael mentally thanked whatever divine power there was that Ray had managed to survive without fatal or more severe injuries and that they were pretty close to getting the hell out of the nearest collection of cops.

Ray was propped up against the door, one hand pressing against the bullet wound in his arm. Michael himself could feel the sticky fluid from his own body seeping into his jacket and into his seat. He could taste the metallic taste of blood in his own mouth from where he’d bitten the inside of his cheek when he was flung off the motorcycle.

It was a miracle he still had all his teeth and a fully intact skeleton.

“Michael.. How ya doin’?” Ray asked from the back, pain lacing his voice.

“I have no fucking clue.” His brain felt too rushed. All he could manage to think of was getting to the boat with the rest of the crew. His skin was still numb and if his hands were to release their iron grip on the wheel, they’d be shaking.

“Charlie one? Come in, Charlie one.” Geoff’s voice crackled over the earpiece and Michael let out a sigh of relief.

“Charlie one. I got Charlie two and we’re on our way to the boat.”

“How’s Charlie two?”

“Pretty scraped up. Got shot in the arm. He’s way better off than I am right now.”

“What happened to you?”

“I got shot twice since the plan change.”

“Are you driving?” Ryan’s voice came on, the soft rumble of an engine behind his words. He was probably on his way to team Bravo.

“Yes.”

“Holy fuck, Michael, you better hurry the fuck over here before you pass out from fucking blood loss!” Geoff snapped and Michael pressed harder on the pedal.

“I’m gonna break my cover. I’m using a police cruiser right now.”

“Turn on the sirens then.”

Michael hesitated before complying with Geoff’s order. A lot of the traffic cleared out of his way as he rushed down the road towards the marina that Ryan had said he’d docked the boat.

“This is the worst heist ever.”

“Yeah. It sure is.” Geoff answered, sounding a little distracted.

Michael ignored it and continued driving, the line going silent as they tried to regroup and get a hold on their situation.

He breathed a sigh of relief as the marina came into view and he swerved to a stop dangerously close to crashing over the edge and into the water. Ray hissed in pain at the sudden jolt, shutting up as several bullets pinged off the cruiser exterior.

“Hold your fire! Alpha One, it's me and Charlie Two.” Michael nearly said his boss’ name, but the man understood and the fire ceased. Michael opened the door and slipped out, opening Ray’s and helping him out.

As the two walked over to the stairway down to the dock, Michael started to feel the pain. Blood coated his jacket and he was starting to feel weak. His heart was slowing, adrenaline fading from his senses.

Geoff leaped out of the boat and ran over, catching Michael before he collapsed to the ground.

“Shit, Michael, you alright?” Ray was capable of standing up, one hand pressed against his side. Michael internally hoped he hadn’t broken a rib in the crash.

“Just fuckin’ peachy..” Michael answered back And Geoff slowly helped him walk down the stairway. Ray was heavily leaning on the railing to give him support as he followed the two down.

Geoff slowly lifted Michael into the boat and sat him down on one of the plush red seats and Ray sat down next to him.

Michael jumped as a loud string of curses crackled over his headset.

“FUCK-FUCK- OH DICKS- RYAN WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK!?” It was Jack, her pain forgotten for pure rage.

“Alpha Two? Team Bravo? What the fuck is happening?”

“Ryan just blew up a whole row of police cruisers and nearly flipped over the fucking car! We have wounded back here, dammit!” Jack was shouting and Michael could only assume she was referring to Gavin.

“I was just following Michael’s example.”

“Fuck you, Ryan… Don’t bring me into your shit.” Michael hissed, glaring at Geoff as he applied pressure to the wound in his hip with two hands. Geoff shot back a glare as well, frustration with an underlying tone of worry.

“Do you guys have Team Charlie?”

“Yup.” Geoff answered, glancing at Ray. “Got ‘em in the boat right now. Ray’s pretty banged up but he’s not currently bleeding out like Michael here.”

“Holy shit.”

“Still conscious.” Michael felt compelled to remind them of that. “H-How’s Gavin?” He didn’t even bother using the code name now.

“He got shot in the arm and the other shoulder. Fortunately the bullets didn’t reach anything really vital.”

Michael breathed a sigh of relief and his head thumped back against the headrest.

“He needs serious medical attention. A bullet got him right beneath the ribs.”

“You said-”

“It didn’t go deep. It’s almost a graze.. The exit wound is pretty big though. Geoff, you better have the first aid kit ready when I get to the boat.”

Jack was usually better at patching up wounds than the rest of the crew.

“Alright, Alright.. Ray, can you put pressure on one of these while I grab the kit?” He asked and Ray nodded, shuffling over. His hands took Geoff’s place as the kingpin grabbed a white kit from beneath the captain’s seat and opened it at Michael’s feet.

“Hey, Ray, I need to see the wound.” Ray nodded and unzipped Michael’s jacket, pulling it off the other man who would have complained if it weren’t for the fatigue seeping into every little piece of his body.

“We’re almost to the marina.” Jack’s voice chirped over the line.

“Good. We’re next to the parked police cruiser.” Geoff answered, pulling out some disinfectant and cotton balls. Michael felt the cold night air nip at his skin as Ray pushed his shirt up to expose his hip.

“Shit, that’s a bad wound.” Ray answered, watching as Geoff poured some disinfectant onto the cotton and pressed it against Michael’s hip. The man snarled a string of curses and his leg jerked at the stinging pain that seemed to retrace the pain the wound itself already caused.

“Relax, you big baby.” Ray answered, earning an annoyed look from Michael as Geoff did his best to clean out the wound before applying a thick pad of gauze to the wound and wrapping a bandage twice around his waist to hold it in place. Blood quickly started seeping into the bandage but it seemed to stall the bleeding decently.

Geoff lifted off Michael’s shirt and he weakly tried to fight him off as the man got more disinfectant-soaked cotton to press to the gun wounds in his shoulder and arm. He did the same as he did with the bullet wound in Michael’s hip and Ray helped him back into his shirt once the wounds were decently bandaged.

His skin still burned and ached where it had been scraped, but it was fine with Michael with the threat of bleeding out removed from his mind.

“You’re gonna have to get a new jacket.” Ray commented as Geoff pushed up Ray’s sleeve to start treating the wound in his upper arm.

“Shit, I knew it was a bad idea to wear it on a heist.. Cost me a dick-load of money.” Michael wasn’t genuinely upset about his jacket. He was just glad no one was dead.

He looked up at sound of a rumbling of an engine and watched as a car parked perilously close to the edge by the stolen cruiser. Within moments, Ryan was out of the truck with a limp body cradled in his arms and a familiar woman in a floral-patterned shirt limped out behind him.

Ryan wore a mask that looked exactly like the one Michael had been wearing when he and Ray got flung onto the highway. Michael’s was probably broken. At the very least the inside was probably stained in his blood after what happened to him.

Jack looked on the verge of keeling over. Ryan’s jacket was wrapped tightly around her midsection and stained in blood. He winced at the thought of the damage being caused by him.

Ryan reached the boat first and Ray shuffled out of the way so he could lay Gavin out on the seats with Geoff’s assistance. Michael wanted to pick him up and beg him to wake up, but he couldn’t make himself move.

The pale light from the marina lamp posts made Gavin’s skin looked more pale than it actually was. His face was covered in small cuts and he was missing his chrome glasses.

Ryan took the chance to help Jack into the boat, sitting her down next to Gavin and Ray stood up to get out of the way. Jack pulled out her earpiece, heavily breathing out.

“We really fucked up this heist, huh?”

There was a silence, but they all agreed. It had all started falling apart but they had gone through with it anyway. They had gotten too cocky.

Geoff was stripping off Gavin’s shirt, exposing his bloodied side. The bullet wound was a hole in Gavin’s left side and easy to see through. Only a few centimeters of flesh kept it from being qualified as a graze. Three separate wounds marred his left arm.

“Shit.. Gav..” Michael whimpered, watching as Geoff went about disinfecting the wounds and hissing frustration at the fast blood flow while Ryan grabbed wads of gauze and pressed it to an arm wound.

Jack had joined in, pressing another wad of gauze to the wound in Gavin’s shoulder with one hand while the other clutched her middle.

Geoff quickly went about to bandaging the side wound, making sure the bandages weren’t too tight, before he got to Gavin’s shoulder, just wrapping a thick layer of bandages around the whole upper arm.

Once he was all bandaged up, Ryan put his shirt back on to try and protect his skin from the cold even though it wouldn’t really do much.

Michael hated feeling useless and he watched as Ryan seated himself at the captain’s seat and started up the engine while Geoff started treating the wounds on Jack’s back.

There was one clean through her thigh that they couldn’t do too much about aside from bandage it as tightly as possible. At least until they got to the safe house on Mount Chiliad.

The safe house was an abandoned warehouse-like structure that Geoff had managed to turn into a shack with an underground base for the group to stage operations whenever they finished a heist (with little success) and had to recover or store their goods temporarily.

It had cost a shit-load of cash but it was a good trade.

“We ready to get going?” Ryan asked, slowly pulling the boat out of the docks.

Geoff was reapplying Jack’s bloody floral shirt. It was better than being half naked in the cold surrounded by water. Hypothermia didn’t care who you were, after all.

“Yeah. I say we are.” Geoff answered, sitting himself down in the seat next to Ryan while Ray sat down at Gavin’s feet while Michael sat by Gavin’s head.

Michael readjusted Gavin so his torso was close to him and he wrapped his arms around the unconscious brit. This gave Ray enough space to sit comfortably.

Then, Ryan pulled out into open waters and began the ride to where they would eventually take a vehicle to the safehouse on Chiliad. They just had to stay off the land and as far away from the police squads for a little bit.

It was late. So damn late that the only real light was the faint glint of the moonlight and the harsh artificial light of the boat headlights.

Michael was lulled into a light doze, occasionally brought out of it when water splashed over the edge and added a sharp cold sting to the bitter wind.

After a while, Michael was snapped out of sleep by a quiet mumbling. He could feel the body in his arms shift and he looked down to see Gavin blinking groggily up at him.

“Huh.. M-Michael?”

“Fuck.. Holy fuck, Gav.” Michael had been able to feel Gavin’s heart beat beneath the hand he had pressed against his upper back, but seeing him actually moving and talking made him feel so utterly relieved. He pulled Gavin up into an awkward hug, not wanting to agitate the wounds.

“W-What happened..? W-We were heisting.. Why’re you-”

“Shh.. It’s fine, Gav. We’re heading to the safe house right now..” Gavin’s eyes drifted to the holes in Michael’s shirt, revealing the bandages that formed lumpy shapes underneath.

“M-My boi..” He whimpered, looking suddenly upset. Michael suddenly remembered the scrapes and bruises covering his exposed skin and the dried blood sticking to his chin and his nose. “Y-You got hurt… What-”

“Don’t worry, I’m fine… Me and Ray flipped, it’s fine. You need to rest.” Michael’s voice was rarely as calm as it was now and Gavin seemed to realize this.

“M’kay… Night, Michael..”

“Night, Gav.” Michael answered, the brit having already fallen asleep in his arms. The sun was beginning to wash the horizon a greenish-blue now. Everyone else on the boat was asleep aside from Ryan who was still driving the boat towards the shore near Mount Chiliad.

They had absolutely failed the heist. Instead of cash they got a fuck ton of injuries. But in the end, they were all alive. That was all that genuinely mattered to Michael. He’d give up everything. The lavish apartments, expensive cars, the huge bank accounts, all of it he’d give up to keep his crew.

Not like he’d ever tell them that.

baekhyun - pls dont make me cry.... baekhyun.. i love his voice. i love hos he looks at the fans like we are his everything. i love his stupid laugh, i love hos childish he can be and how playful he is, i love how much he loves the members and how naughty he is with them like taking showers with all of them to get closer, i love how hes improved so much from debut to now, i love how hes just so sweet and always thinking about exo ls

sehun- hes so tall it makes my insides turn just thinking about how cuddly he prob is, hes so big and yet he will hang onto the shorter members as if he isnt a giant. hes always laughing at the members and i think its so cute that he think everyone is funny. i love how he has that glare that makes you lose your breath for a second, like you forgot how to breathe

kyungsoo - bruh, his voice is to die for. its so full and has so much emotion. his heart shaped lips doesnt help to calm me down either. and his acting, i never knew he was such a great actor. for someone who normally doesnt say much, he really does stand out. hes very cute and very organized and i think its funny how hes in exo, a group of wildness LOL.

YIXING - IMMA CRY. IVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS QUESTION. OTL. yixing.. is the most.. hard working member i feel like, because he has to travel between korea and china and deal with so much hate from OT8 stans. he just really loves exo and it makes me cry literal tears at how much he loves exo. his loyalty is something that i can never match up to. he works so hard and i feel like it often goes unrecognized, but he doesnt even care because hes happy to just be in exo and that makes me so soft.

chen - this man.... is constantly creeping up on me. he’s so playful, obv beagle line, but hes also so sweet. him holding eye contact with the fans makes my heart burst. and his constant whining is so cute.. im crying in the club. he really takes pride in being exo’s vocal and its so endearing to see how far he will go to prove it. and the way he hits the high notes bruh... wolf remix.. BRUH SM PLS RELEASE THE OFFICIAL AUDIO.

suho - this poor man, has been through so much, esp with the members leaving, and yet he still puts on a brave face for im sure himself, but mainly for us. he not once complains (well maybe he nags the members) but hes always trying to make exo ls laugh, even tho its so much second hand embarrasment, and SM pls let suho join red velvet.

chanyeol - imma need him and baek to stop buying rolex’s pls. he loves his members so much, and is always annoying them i think its so cute cause hes so big and a giant but hes playful like a child. hes improved a lot in rapping, and i think when he sings its quite relaxing. hes honestly a dork, and i still laugh at the fact that he calls himself loey LOL.

xiumin - bruh idk what it is.. but this KKB comeback... he has been killing the game. hes usually not one for many words, but the members all adore him and i think its so cute how he just silently watches over everyone. while beagle line is super loud, and the other have their playful tendencies, hes more on the quiet side, but i like how now, hes trying to be more vocal and i think its so cute, esp when remembering on showtime how he even wanted a little segment to try and break out of his shell, i think hes doing great now .

My BTS WINGS Tour in Chicago Fan Account

THIS IS A LOT. Like 4 whole pages in google docs 😬. Don't feel obligated to read the whole thing just because you follow me. If you have any questions to ask me feel free to message me :-)

OK first things first shout out to the uber guy who was blasting a kpop spotify playlist when he pulled up to get me lmao

He told me he personally wasn't into it but that he had been driving people to the venue since like 11:00 AM and he already saw people lining up so i was like 💀

I got to the venue by 6:30PM and had to wait like 5 minutes to get in

OK…..so I ended up getting an ARMY bomb ewhvfqghrlhotw

And….here’s the kicker……….it was $60 🙃🙃🙃

It was impulsive af but i had the money and i was so afraid i wouldn't get anything else because shiz was selling out fast so i panicked 😬

I waited in this long ass line because i knew I had to get some kind of souvenir but by the time i got to the front the ARMY bombs were the only things left

And you know what's hilarious? i ended up not even using the ARMY bomb because after waiting in the second line i didn't even have enough time to charge it 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

So i was just like Fuck It and bolted to my seat which was 2nd tier

Even though my seat wasn't close to the guys...it didn't feel too far away? The venue is really nice tbh like i was of reasonable distance and could see everything fine.

My seat was at the end of a row in the middle seats so i didn't feel squished which is a HUGE bonus cuz that was my main concern so overall I think my seat was pretty good.

Before i talk my head off about the performances i want to give a big shout out to the people who filmed, did artwork and put together the VCR’s throughout the concert. Everything was so beautiful and fit the themes and songs well.

After the first VCR, which was arguably an art film, these guys came out with Not Today and y’all….

It wAS SO HYPE

That was honestly when i realized that this was...Actually Happening.

Like these guys i care about so much were performing right in front of me

I screamed so damn loud lmaooo

After Not Today they did their introductions and they were all SO CUTE ☺️

Ofc Hobi did his iconic “I’m your Hope!” and my heart fell out of my ass LMAO

Yoongi was so freakin Extra™ he took his damn ear buds out and made that cocky hand gesture where he closed his eyes and put his palm to the back of his ear to get everyone to scream for him I CAN’T with him 😒

But.. i still screamed as loud as i could 😏

I screamed for all the members everyone did

After their cute introductions and small talk they continued on with the concert where they performed Am I Wrong (an under appreciated tune), Baepsae (LIT 👅👅👅 they all looked so hot) and the Dope which i hadn't listened to in a while so i felt nostalgic jamming to it.

And then we got to the solo stages...

Jungkook is such a talented kid tbh. Like i joke about him a lot in my tags but he looked so cool performing Begin. His footwork was something else 👌🏾

After him was Jimin with Lie and HE HAD HIS TIDDIES OUT (I’m calling his mama lmao). But no it was just a reallllllly low cut shirt like 👀 I see you chimchim. The performance was literally art in motion for me with the choreography and background VCR, and the song itself is just a masterpiece, my fave solo after MAMA. Jimin is so captivating to watch.

After him was Yoongi with First Love and it was so beautiful and passionate. The background VCR had really well done art and complimented the beauty of the song. Yoongi has such a cool energy to him, very confident and unafraid. I really appreciate what he had to offer.

And look... I already knew Yoongi was a good looking dude but like…Idk what happened but this concert made me realize how beautiful he really is??? Hobi is my bae you guys know that but Yoongi had me swerving a couple of times jesus 👀

After that they came back together as a group perform Lost (vocal line only, and another under appreciated bop) Save Me (my favorite group performance, when Hobi’s part came on I screamed and then loudly repeated the only english line he had in his verse,”The best of me!”) and then I Need U (a classic)

After that was Namjoon who performed Reflection which was very mellow. It is a very vulnerable song that encompasses emotions I think anyone can relate to. I am glad he could openly share those feelings in a song. When he go to the part where he repeats the “I wish I could love myself” line we were all chanting WE LOVE YOU like the fans at Brazil and Newark. It was so sweet ☺️

After him was Taehyung with Stigma and HE DID THAT. Tae really gave his all during that performance. I still worry over his vocal technique tho cuz he is a natural baritone and that solo had a lot of high notes. But he was so immersed in his song and it was so soulful like 😭 I’m super proud of him.

And after him...MY MAN CAME OUT 😰 😰 😰

Y’all i was NOT ready Hobi KILLED IT. Mama is such a bop but the meaning behind it is so gorgeous this boy really does love his mom. He danced, rapped and during the ending chorus he had his lil singing adlibs and I was just felt so content and happy seeing him perform with all his energy. He really is our Hope 😭😭😭😭

And during Hobi’s solo they showed soooo many baby pictures 😱 they showed pictures of him I never seen before including awkward pre teen photos of him posing like a superhero and I LOVED THAT cuz we all have those super awk photos we took when we were 12 thinking we looked badass and then we see them now and we’re like 🙄 so I’m really glad he was confident enough to show that he’s just as human as everyone else. And then...

JIN’S SOLO MADE ME CRY 😖

ALRIGHT so here’s the deal…

Hobi is my Official Bias™ and Yoongi is my now confirmed Bias Wrecker™ but…

Jin is…idk I can’t explain it but he has such a special place in my heart. He gets overlooked a lot and in his solo song Awake he sings about this. Feeling like he is sometimes not a part of his own group and I’ve felt that way before so many times. Hell all my life even. When he was singing his solo I honest to god teared up like he’s just such a great guy with a great sense of humor who works so hard in everything he does. I sang most of the song and I screamed so loud for him, everyone did. I just hope he felt loved that night ❤️

Jeez i teared up just writing that…

And then….after that was the cypher 💀💀💀

EVERYONE was hyped, rap line went off, it was around this time were my voice was starting to hurt 😥

After that was Fire, another hype song

And then it was a huge mashup of their debut/rookie years title songs. It made me realize how far they’ve all came when it comes to music.

Diring that they performed Run which is the era i really started to stan them. It brought back some more nostalgia, mainly back to when the fandom life didn't feel so damn dramatic 25/8 😒

After that was when the started to talk with us again. They talked about how they spent their time in Chicago and how happy they felt to be there.

HOBI WENT TO THE CHICAGO AQUARIUM AND GOT THIS CUTE SHARK HAT AND HE WAS SHOWING IT OFF LIKE IT WAS A TROPHY IT WAS SO CUTE!!!!!!

Namjoon said he went to look at Lake Michigan and the Michigander in me was like 😵😵😵

Like yes boys come to Michigan sometime! Swim across the lake lmao 😭

Namjoon also said that if he had to chose any US city to live in it would be Chicago which i thought was super cute and everyone around me was going nuts. I like Chicago a lot too and i hadn't been there in such a long time so it was good to come back for the concert. Hopefully I can stay longer next time

Also! The Chicago Armys did the rainbow project as well!!! It was so pretty. The organizers did such a great job. I remember when American Armys were first talking about making a project with the light sticks but people (including other American fans) were sort of putting them down because they thought we should leave making good fan projects to the Korean Armys which made me go??? But you guys really pulled it off!!!! Im proud of y’all.

The boys looked shocked that the American fans did it again because they had already did the same project at the Newark concerts, they all looked so happy and commented on it and how grateful they were.

After that they performed their more recent songs off the WINGS album including 2! 3! Hope For Better Days which had a beautiful montage of all the members from debut era. I know i keep saying this but it was obviously nostalgic

The also performed the WINGS Intro which I LOVE and wish it were made to a full song but for the concert they made it longer than usual so the boys could goof off and interact with fans and the stuffed animals the fans tossed at them. Jungkook wore these cute bunny ears ☺️ ☺️ ☺️ super cute. They all looked like they were having a blast with the fans at the floor seats. That was the only time I felt jealous of not getting a floor seat. There’s always next time tho!

The last songs they performed were Boy Meets Evil(Hobi’s other solo that was the album intro, and ofc he freaking killed it!!! He is such a talented dancer and i hope he goes on Hit the Stage one day so everyone, especially non-fans, can finally see how great of a dancer he is) BST(LIT!) and Spring Day(Beautiful performance, a great way to end the concert)

The boys stayed on stage for the longest time even after Spring Day ended. They all took their sweet time doing final bows and saying goodbye to the fans. They were so sweet this whole concert and always kept the crowd hyped when they could talk to us throughout the concert. I'm so thankful I saw them. I'll never forget this and I hope to see them again.

TBH, this message took me by surprise.

Let me try and unpack your Ask a bit because I feel likeperhaps I hurt feelings or did something wrong unintentionally. I also could gointo all the things happening in my life on the other side of this screen, butyou don’t need a bio (and I don’t think I should have to write one either).

First of all, I will say that I did actually make a postback in October about stepping back from the blog. This was a purposefuldecision of mine because I was spending a lot of my days in front of mycomputer during work, after work, andon the weekends scheduling and tagging posts. I was putting up 4 posts an hourfor 24 hours at the time, meaning I was tagging and scheduling nearly 100posts/day. I did this for several MONTHS. My social life took a dive, mysleeping schedule took a dive, and I wasn’t doing anything but running theblog. I call(ed) DME my “second job” when I talked about it with myfriends. That’s how much time I was spending on it.

Until about 2-3 weeks ago, I had cut the schedule back to 2posts/hour with a small queue running for a few hours during the middle of thenight. That’s still a lot of work for me, but it allowed me some personalpursuits off of the computer which is what I need to recharge.

With the new Andromeda trailers dropping more frequently andfandom content going into overdrive, I’ve had to up my posting schedule againto even try and keep up. Even when I’m “on top” of things I find I’mstill behind and I’m not catching up.

This breaks my heart because I feel like I’m letting peopledown. I am only one person though, so it’s important that it’s understood thatI’m doing the best that I can.

As for only reblogging art, I am sad to say that this istrue and I feel HUGELY guilty about it. The main reason why this happens isthat I want to read every piece of fiction I post and reading a story takes alot longer than looking at a work of fan art. I honestly have about 200 storiesfrom the fandom in my drafts that I want to read before I post. It’s horribleand rude and terrible of me. I can’t read it all like I want, I haven’t readANYTHING for fun in months, actually, because I’m too tired to when I finallyget to bed. It’s an excuse, yes, but it’s the truth.

I try to talk to everyone that messages me. Sometimes I’mable to reply right away and other times it can take me a week or two (ormore!) to answer. I’ve never been the best at conversations, even though I ambetter at written ones than verbal ones. (I am also terrible with replies because they take me forever to do.)

As for only talking to @omegastation and other MEL folks,that’s blatantly untrue and I’m not really sure where that assumption camefrom. I am sorry if it appears that way, but it’s definitely not the case. Yes,we talk, but those discussions of late are incredibly short and MEL business related andless of fun, “Hey what’s up and how are you doing?” convos.

In regards to Asks and memes, I actually try to answer asmany asks as I can and I often answer privately because that’s what’s warrantedby the message I’m sent. As for other Asks, I put a lot of time and thoughtinto them and they can take me quite a while to answer. However, because ofyour message, I’ve tried to go through as many of them as I can because it wasa task I had been neglecting. There are a couple of them that I will take sometime to answer still, but for the most part, I hope I’ve caught up.

Memes are also something that take me awhile to do. HonestlyI love(d) doing them for quite a while, but I became overburdened with themquickly. I also stopped getting emails from Tumblr over a year ago, so I onlysee posts I’m tagged in if I happen to see the tag in my notifications.Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. Getting tagged in something is an honor andI am really happy that people think of me when they do them.

It’s incrediblydifficult for me to do memes though because I want to do them right and notfast. I also get stressed and anxious about tagging other bloggers and doingchain messages because I always feel like I’m leaving people out and I don’twant others to have hurt feelings by not getting a message/tag. It’s a funpractice, but it can also cause hurt unintentionally. I kinda unofficiallystopped doing them for this reason. I want to tag EVERYONE, but I can’t, so Ijust don’t do them.

I support everyone and try to do so fairly. I’ve spent mostof my time in the tag now for the better part of a month, reblogging as much asI can. I know I’m missing posts but that’s basically because there is SO MUCHNEW CONTENT I cannot keep up. I try to reblog and showcase as many differentpeople and blogs as I can, but with the sheer amount of stuff going aroundright now, I am bound to miss some. I have considered opening my submissions tohelp with this, but in all honesty I prefer to reblog.

I haven’t forgotten about anyone. In reality this franchisehas a huge fan base and our “little” community that existed sixmonths ago has grown again as people have started coming back to Mass Effect asAndromeda approaches. Mass Effect 3 sold over 3.5 million copies on its own in itsFIRST MONTH OF RELEASE, which means that there are a TON of fans out there.Some of the fans weren’t as vocal until the Andromeda hype machines startedfull blast, but they’re back and excited now, and I’m happy that everyone ishere.

The thing is that now the community feels bigger and lesscohesive than it did last year. It’s not really, but it FEELS that way andthere’s so much content being produced daily that folks like me, who want toget as much Mass Effect in one spot, are having a hard time collating andorganizing it all. I physically can’t keep up, even if I spend all my wakinghours doing it.

Yes, I realize that perhaps my break seemed like I wasturning my back on the community and that’s definitely not the case. I had to step back for me and my mentalhealth. I miss the community and the friends I have here for sure. I misswriting! I miss talking to people about their Sheps. I miss lots of aspects ofTumblr that I was more active in 6 months ago. But I could not and cannot keepup with it all without it being detrimental to my life outside of the computerscreen.

I’m trying. I really am. I am sorry if I somehow missed apost of yours and didn’t reblog it. I’m sorry if there are mutuals who feelthat I’ve not boosted them enough. I’m sorry if I’ve left IM messagesunanswered. To be honest, I hardly feel “popular” and I kind of feelthe most hurt about that remark more than anything.

My goal has always been to make this blog a nice place forpeople to appreciate a game franchise they love and I hope I’m still doingthat, even if I’ve been unable to be directly in the thick of things for awhile now.

This is already much longer than I intended (or than itshould be) but clearly this is a topic that should be addressed.

I can only apologize for my extended “satellite” absence and ask for theunderstanding as to why I needed to and continue to do it.

Drake starts off Dark Lane Demo Tapes doing what he does best, effortlessly floating on the intro “Deep Pockets“, another collaboration accompanied by producer Noah “40” Shebib. Self-reflecting and reminiscing on adolescent aspirations before the transition of becoming one of the greatest artists of all time.

Drake has been navigating through uncharted territory flawlessly. Proving this point yet again with his release of “Toosie Slide”. Drake’s 3rd single to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart making him the first male in history to achieve this milestone.

Drake follows up with two pre-released tracks, “When To Say When” & “Chicago Freestyle”. Jam packed with bars, a sample from “Song Cry” by Jay-Z (one of my all time favorite Hov songs) on “When To Say When”, and a nostalgic Eminem cadence reference on “Chicago Freestyle”.

You really love to see Drizzy remind everyone on “When To Say When” that his pen still outmatches all who oppose. Re-asserting his dominance as if it was ever in question. Subtle reminders like the bars above are what keep Drake and his competition completely separated.

Giveon, a California native sings of the windy city as Drake gets ready to paint a picture of a night through his perception. From scrolling through his contacts of women’s names that are seemingly categorized by area code, to eventually just letting his boi Chubbs pick a girl out for him as if picking up women is as easy as shopping! Drake brilliantly segways into a memory that you forgot you had by referencing a cadence used in Eminem’s “Superman” released in 2002.

Don’t be fooled by the feature credit of Chris Brown….we didn’t get another “No Guidance” summer anthem….

Just a few background vocals from the R&B legend were enough to get his name on the project tracklist. Meanwhile Burna Boy is still waiting for his credits since More Life but that’s a conversation for another day. “Not You Too” Featuring Chris Brown is the first song on the project that I really don’t care for. It’s disappointing when you see a Drake and Chris Brown collaboration and it doesn’t slap..

What A Time To Be Alive is in my Top 3 favorite duo albums of all time. Whenever I see a Drake and Future collab I automatically get excited. Previously leaked, “Desires” is everything you want in a slower more laid back vibe from these two. The hook is addicting. Future’s verse is versatile with flows. His energy matches perfectly and his lyrics have SUBSTANCE. Listen to it carefully.

Drake has this ability to be able to sing 90% of the song, take the other 10%, completely spazz, and musically still have it make sense. These are the moments in songs like “Desires” and “Redemption” that turn slow R&B type vibe songs into a completely different entity within itself. Now all of a sudden you’re turning up and talking your sh*t instead of staring at the ceiling crying yourself to sleep.

When I hear “Time Flies” I automatically think of Tik Tok. I don’t know why but if it blows up on Tik Tok you heard it here first! Honestly for me this, is another skip it and forget it type of song, I really hope it doesn’t go viral.

The first forty-five seconds is the only part of the song that kept my attention. Otherwise the rest is forgettable or just too similar to music that he’s already done thus not really elevating his ability here. During a full listen to the song I’m 100% paying attention during the first forty-five seconds. After that my attention doesn’t come back until he starts saying “Im Sorry”.

Don’t worry Drizzy I forgive you.

Luckily, “Time Flies” is followed by a HEATER. Three hooks and three verses of aggressive, yet relaxed, reckless bars knowing there isn’t a consequence for you when you’re at the top. “Landed” is a slick talk, mean face, making breakfast with the speaker on 10 with the neighbors calling the cops while you’re trying to get hype for the day joint.

I wanna stop writing this review, get in my car, windows down, put this song on max volume and mean mug old people walking their dog in the suburbs for the rest of the day.

At first listen I was super excited about “D4L”. The production from Southside is out of this world. I do feel like it’s lacking a certain element. It’s easy to fall in love with a song featuring Drake, Future, and Young Thug, with this type of production. To me it just doesn’t sound organic. It sounds like it was thrown together rather than collectively created.

Honestly, I wish Drake and Future left Young Thug out of it, sat down together and created a dope record. Kind of wasted a great instrumental.

To be blunt, I’m just not impressed with “Pain 1993”. It could be the fact that I’m not the biggest Playboi Carti fan, or it could be just because the song’s just not that interesting. I’ve replayed “Pain 1993” numerous times searching for something with depth or meaning because that, accompanied with creative cadences and complex bars, is the reason why I love Drake’s music. This didn’t do it for me.

The intro to “Losses” is amazing. The song starts with a clip of Drake’s father Dennis Graham previewing a song Dennis had been working on recently. It ends with Dennis saying something like, “This songs about family, if anyone feel anyway about it I don’t give a f***”, classic.

It’s funny how you can listen to any Drake project and stumble upon a song that you personally aren’t really feeling. The next song is the exact song you’re looking for. Self-reflection is my favorite type of Drake song because the untouchable becomes relatable and humbled.

The second verse of “Losses” touches on Drake’s motivation on why he does what he does, “I do it for the Grahams not the Gram”. Then goes into depth about his sacrifices and choices that he’s made over the years and defends his reasoning behind them.

“I did it by being myself with no dramatic acting

I couldn’t sit around and wait, I had to have it happen

Lost you to the game, I gotta face that

Really think I lost you like a ways back”

Drakes starts off “From Florida With Love” paying homage to the late Static Major who was well known for his appearance on Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop”. Otherwise the song is a dope story about Wayne showing Drake “Lollipop” back in 2008 on a tour bus with Kobe Bryant. (RIP) Then the story continues with Drake getting robbed for his chain and how that lesson stuck with him for life. Further justifying his reasoning for his mentality and how he handles certain situations.

Hasn’t happened since, I guess you n***** know what’s up (Yup)

“VIRAL. MOVIE.”

Love to see Drake on some, what I define as, “murder music”. Type of music that just makes you wanna fight anybody, anytime… Drake absolutely BODIES the first verse but it’s a mere alley oop to Fivio Foriegn.

Fivio Foriegn sounds like he’s right at home on this one. His delivery is in your face, lyrics are gritty, his aggression is on another level. My only take back is Sosa Geek’s verse just feels, unnecessary. Or maybe I just really wish Pop Smoke was alive to clean this one up RIP.

The final song on the project “War” was released around Christmas time 2019. The best part of this being the outro to the project is only that we can stream this song now. Despite being released months in advance it only became available on streaming services with this release.

War is a song that is being recognized as “UK Drill” which, obviously, was created in the United Kingdom. This is just another example of how Drake can travel in and out of different genres and subgenres immaculately.

Conclusion

Overall the project is supposed to be perceived as a “mixtape” rather than an “album”. Drake is set to release a brand new studio album later this year. As a whole I enjoy the project, I’m trying to shy away from relating it to other albums because it technically isn’t an album. Dark Lane Demo Tape isn’t game changing, but it will hold the world over until the real album drops.
