Sometimes I think it's just scary to open up like that. To say how you really feel. Especially to people you care about the most. Because what if... what if they don't like the truth? // Sometimes people don’t really say what they’re really thinking. But, you capture the right moment… it says more. // I didn't say it. // You didn't have to.

Essek details from this episode that I can't stop thinking about:
His quiet realisation of exactly how Liliana could cast Time Stop. You could hear the weight of everything he's done hovering over him again, how everyone in the Ruby Vanguard who uses dunamancy does so because he gave Ludinus the beacon. All the work he's done, all the growth... and the consequences of his actions are still there. They'll always be there.
The impression (which I got, at least) that 'Seth Domade' is one of his go-to aliases. He's obviously been to Zadash before; does he hang out with Beau? Did she introduce him to the rest of the Cobalt Soul as 'this is my friend Seth from a few archives over, let him hang out where he likes'?
Trent implying in Echoes of the Solstice that the Bright Queen still doesn't know. Like, is Essek still the Shadowhand? Does he still have a home in Rosohna???? What does his life look like right now????
The fact that he introduces himself as a member of the Accord and an enemy of Ludinus. He is still working to fix what he did. He will not let his actions hurt more people. He will not let Ludinus continue to profit off the loneliness of a younger, crueller man.
Him showing up as a palette-swapped version of Caleb. What a dork.

yo can we actually talk about harrow's blood face paint and veil at the beginning of htn for a sec. i know a lot of people poke fun at it but for me as someone who grew up in a veiling religion with the constant threat of that veil being taken away it's like... not being able to wear that veil IN FRONT OF PEOPLE? that's like being naked before god. it is terrifying and traumatic to not be able to wear a veil or other religious garments. at the end of the day it's not even about god specifically, like i could meet god and even if he said to take off the veil i wouldn't, because it's for me. it's for her before it's for god. i felt for harrow so hard at that part of the book and i get that she's just a scrungle but i would love if we could portray occasionally the nauseating forced vulnerability and sense of injustice you would feel at your religion being stripped from you.
