Jujutsu Kaisen
I saw trailers, pictures, memes and such of this show everywhere! So what else to do that start watching. The first couple of episodes didn't really catch me the way I hoped, but after a while I was hooked as everyone else. I was so sure the second season was out, but no.. So now it's a waiting game (like so much else)! I really like the style of this. The character gallery is good mix and the typical anime expressions in the middle of it all makes the settings perfect. It's just a perfect match for my humor.

Ranking of Kings
We were browsing through Crunchyroll and this anime had one of the header slides, and my friend said she got this recommended. And a few hours later we were halfway through! This was soo enjoyable! The art style itself is amazing, something simple and yet so fresh. All the different expressions are amazing and just draw you into the moment. The character gallery is massive and yet not to much at the same time, and all the character developments and relationships are nice as well. The story is well followed through, and the music is also spot on and very catchy. This is one anime I will for sure watch again.

Horimiya
I've been wanting to watch a decent Horimiya anime for aages. I read the manga a long time ago, and ever since I’ve been wanting an anime. And I was so stoked when the OVA’s came out several years ago, but the happiness was quite short. I didn’t like the style very much, neither the fact that there were very few episodes. But now ladies and gentlemen! They actually made something great! The story is true to the mange (as I can remember), the character gallery is a fun mix, and the overall art style is so pretty. Even though I always knew what would happen it still gave me this good, warm feeling as the story went on. I really enjoyed this with a huge smile on my face. 10/10 will watch again.

Orange
I’ve wanted to watch this for a while, but never had the urge to go and do it. Until now. Since it’s only 13 episodes it goes by pretty fast, yet the story fits perfectly. The sci-fi in the middle of it all is a little weird, but it’s not too bad or out of place. I like the style of this and I guess that’s why I was drawn to it, and the six main characters are a good match for each other. While watching it the mood could change from happy to sad and back again, but it’s still a good one.

This was hilarious, and I am almost sad that it wasn’t more episodes. Might have to read the manga as well. The comedy of this was right up my alley, funny situations, a great likable character gallery and some surprises here and there. Almost binged the whole thing in a day with a big smile on my face! I will also for sure check out more anime from the studio in charge.

Beastars
I’ve wanted to watch this since the first time I saw the trailer on Netflix, and today was the day! Literally.. Saw the first 5 episodes for breakfast and the rest during/after dinner. So yeah, this was my day. But oh my, what an intro! The visuals of the anime is very pleasant, and it’s a slight mix of 2D and some 3D, and then there’s the intro sequence - it’s in stop motion! We thought that was really cool, not only is the opening theme catchy, but the movements of the stop motion is very nicely done. I bet the song will go on repeat for quite some time the next weeks. The story was nice and the characters looked so good, it’s also fun to see different types of animals in a “human” setting. Who knew birds would look great with actual legs, haha. Can’t wait for 2021 and the second season.
Title: Beastars
Director: Shinichi Matsumi
Watched language: Japanese
Genre: Drama, psychological, shounen, slice of life
Studio: Orange
Episodes: 12
Release year: 2019

Tem's friend Legoshi, a grey wolf in the stage crew, has been an object of fear and suspicion for his whole life. In the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, he continues to lay low and hide his menacing traits, much to the disapproval of Louis, a red deer and the domineering star actor of the drama club.
When Louis sneaks into the auditorium to train Tem's replacement for an upcoming play, he assigns Legoshi to lookout duty. That very night, Legoshi has a fateful encounter with Haru, a white dwarf rabbit scorned by her peers. His growing feelings for Haru, complicated by his predatory instincts, force him to confront his own true nature, the circumstances surrounding the death of his friend, and the undercurrent of violence plaguing the world around him.

Pokémon: Sun & Moon (series 6)
These episodes went by far too quickly. At first I missed the XYZ because of the art style, because it was so visually satisfying, but after a little while the new art style was a nice fresh addition to the series. I liked the new typical “anime expressions” as well, even though it was weird sometimes (obviously not used to it), but it was still quite enjoyable. The whole island challenge-vibe reminded me of the Orange Island adventures (season 2), but not in a bad way, since it’s still quite different with the Pokémon school as well. The character gallery was also a nice combination of people and there were never a boring moment because they were so many different life stories, and we witnessed them all. Almost to the end. Would’ve liked to see the conclusion of what happened to Lillie and Gladion’s father, but hey. It was some sort of closure. Now onward to the new Pokémon series!

Later that night, he and Pikachu have an encounter with the guardian deity Pokémon of Melemele Island, the mysterious Tapu Koko. Hori-san to Miyamura-kun
This is a four episode OVA from 2012, and I’ve watched these through the last five years or so. Needless to say I don’t remember much from each episode, but i really like the manga. I also wish this was an actual 12-24 episodes anime, not just an OVA, but hey, it’s still a little bit entertaining. The art style is also really cute.

Pokémon (series 5)
I still use Pokémon as a background show whilst doing something else, but wow. After quite a bad season of Black and White, this really was a turn of events. First of all - the visuals. The visuals are stunning! The animations are good and the colors just pop! The story and plot are better than the previous series, and I love the characters this time. When you get used to the new four person travel company you also find that they are all important to the story in different ways. None of them are put aside, and the character growth we’re witnessing over time is great. It’s good to see that Ash actually can think for himself in a deeper and more reflecting way. He hasn’t forgotten his emotions after all. The music is also great and is a good match to the story and happenings. All in all I would say this is one of the better seasons in a while, and I would like to see more in this style! So I’m curious to see what happens after Sun and Moon again.

Violet Evergarden
Netflix showed me this as soon as it aired, and I started watching it quite early on. This anime is so pretty, but also so slow - a little bit to slow for my taste. Therefore I didn’t manage to watch more than a couple of episodes at the time, and instead i ended up watching other animes with more action and a faster timeline. A little over a year after I’m finally done! Just binged the last 7 episodes to get it over with. The story itself is nice, and for me the 13 episodes is enough. The character gallery is a good mix and the character developments are impressive as well, over the short period of time. It’s a beautiful show to watch and it’s worth watching all because of the visuals, but the story as well.

Mezzo Forte
Some friends and I gathered up for an evening with anime movies, and we watched a lot of different ones, and awesome ones. We also watched and OVA series to start off the chabang; This one! It was a cool story and all the minutes were packed with action, and some sort of fan service (but not to much). It was kind of cool with two episodes, but I kind of wanted to see more of them when it ended. The art style was also cool (and very early 2000s, logically enough). Would absolutely watch again some time.

Oneechan ga Kita
I was having a look around Crunchyroll, then i hit the “random” button, and this was the match. I read the description and thought this would be a waste of time. And then I realized that the episodes are only 3 minutes long! So I gave the first episode a go. So yeah, I was hoping that my 100th anime would be something more exciting, but no, a very short comedy. There’s nothing new here (with a big sister who’s way to obsessed with her little brother) except the length which makes this more bearable!

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online
Every time I see something related to Sword Art Online I always almost go crazy - as in “I need to watch!”. I don’t know why I liked the original series so much, but everytime I hear the music and see the action I get the urge to watch it again. So what is better than getting different kinds of spin offs? With only 11 episodes there’s a lot going on, and not much time to pause things. I like the fast paced rythm of the anime, and I wonder if I get to see more of this. I simply want more!
