The sign of high quality is the fact the book was banned by the government. Trash literature NEVER EVER had any troubles with the law.

Where did Naruto go?
No, seriously. Where did Naruto Uzumaki, sunshine child who cared and empathized with everyone go? The one who loved and cherished his precious people, who never went back on his word, who hated those who lied to themselves? Where did the kid who was my inspiration in getting through shit times go?
I reread the Pain Arc today, and I finished it in absolute tears. I spent so many months upset and distraught over how the manga ended, that I forgot who Naruto really was. And now I’m facing the revelation on how fucked over his character really had undergone.
He understood pain, and he promised to change things, to bring peace to the Shinobi world. He underwent a beating in hopes to spare Sasuke, and begged with his head on the ground, pleading that another Ninja War would not happen so he wouldn’t lose anyone else. He listened to those that suffered, those that were oppressed and hated, listened to the injustices brought about by nations, and sought to end the cycle of hatred.
Where is my role model, my inspiration who never gave up, wanted peace, and was always determined to make things right? Where did my gutsy ninja go?
I’m fucking upset and distraught. I’m still in disbelief that those who worked on Naruto for so long, could forget the fundamental lessons of the manga, and instead, stomp on everything that mattered.
And fuck, it’s not even about the pairings anymore, not in this post, because Jesus Christ- everyone’s development was murdered. Oppression still remained. Children still live as future soldiers. The important deaths that were never put at peace were swept under a rug. Nothing was resolved. Nothing changed.
And that’s the most tragic thing of all.
Years of my life dedicated to a manga series that made me hope and feel- went down the drain in a shit fanfic ending.
This was a manga about bonds, friendship, understanding, and revolution.
But instead, it turned into canon fodder.
I can’t even breathe.

So my grandma is in the hospital, and she’s generally pretty out of it, but the other day someone asked her, to see how coherent she was, “do you know who the president is?”
And her answer, totally aware and deadpan was “unfortunately”

I haven’t watched the episode yet but I just wanted to comment on the following: “Dean doesn’t have healthy coping strategies for dealing with loss and I get that.”
I truly hope people aren’t pulling this excuse to justify how Sam and Jack are treated. The man is stone cold killer in his mid-30s; he’s a grown ass man, not a hurt, vulnerable baby to be coddled. His issues can no longer cover for his shitty behavior. I am happy to see Sam actively healing and dealing, though, no matter what Dean does or say.
I’m… seeing some people who are criticizing Sam for mentioning that he felt sad about the fact that Mary’s connection was primarily with Dean, saying that expressing those feelings was somehow blaming Dean, and that Sam is a source (the source?) of Dean’s self-loathing because he … apparently “blames Dean for things that aren’t his fault.” Sam even mentioning that he thought Mary interacted with Dean more (calling him more, talking with him more, etc.) is not about Sam’s grief… nooo, it’s about Dean.
Like. Sam expresses his grief for the first time in a very long time and it is somehow an affront to Dean. Let me be clear: it has been literal seasons (plural; many of them) since Sam has actually gotten defensive on his own behalf. He has shut himself down so effectively that he almost never gives vent to any emotions that could be perceived as negative (for his own sake, at least). And he finally does it. He finally talks. And somehow, that’s wrong.
But Dean expressing the pain of his loss by tearing Jack down and tearing Sam down and telling Sam that he has forgotten about their losses and that he’s not doing his job and that (implicitly, accidentally, without malice, but it’s still there), that people born with the capacity for evil are, in fact, evil. And you know what? Dean doesn’t have healthy coping strategies for dealing with loss and I get that. It’s established fact.
But people blaming Sam for speaking out just baffles me. And he wasn’t even blaming Dean. He stated his feelings about Mary when Dean started mocking him in front of the therapist.
Sorry for the bitterness, it’s just that I can’t see anything clearly beyond all these glaring double standards.

I remember first learning that you can cry from any emotion, that emotions are chemical levels in your brain and your body is constantly trying to maintain equilibrium. so if one emotion sky rockets, that chemical becomes flagged and signals the tear duct to open as an exit to release that emotion packaged neatly within a tear. Everything made sense after learning that. That sudden stability of your emotions after crying. How crying is often accompanied by the inability to feel any other emotion in that precise moment. And it is especially beautiful knowing that it is even possible to experience so much beauty or love or happiness that your body literally can’t hold on to all of it. So what I’ve learned is that crying signifies that you are feeling as much as humanely possible and that is living to the fullest extent. So keep feeling and cry often and as much as needed
