Either there had been something bad in those beans they'd had for supper, or this place was finally starting to get into his head. He pinched his temple. Perhaps it was some combination of both. After all, it had been Mira's turn to cook.

"OK. This is gonna sound crazy, but your mom's snow lady reminds me of strawberry shortcake for some reason," Mira remarked.

At once, the snow morphed into an advertisement-worthy, rose-tinted vision of a triple-stacked strawberry shortcake, covered in the fluffiest, most delectable whipped topping Adam had ever seen. He wondered whether whipped topping that fluffy even existed.

He shivered and he trembled. Hot, searing pain crawled up every limb, ligament, and bone. He kept his fists clenched, if just to stop his fingers from twitching uncontrollably. Every breath came out quick and jagged. He lay curled up on the ground, trapped in agony. All he could see was the ground, and a dark gray expanse above his head…

And the expanse was made of… t-shirt fabric?

The only reason I didn't do this sooner was because I tried this website once and had no idea what to do with it, lol.

So uh... crazy story for any and all Hollowers out there who are still around. But I'm currently couch-surfing with @ahyesthesufferingoftvteens and it's... a situation. :0 I literally just watched them try to bite a fidget spinner while it was spinning.

Instagram is... kinda bleh right now. I can barely find new Hollow stuff there anymore. So I am once again extending my reach in order to find more content to fuel my ongoing obsession with some obscure Canadian cartoon that most people have forgotten about.

Oh, and also make some posts myself. :P

Instagram followers might have noticed this, but... I have discovered/achieved systemhood. A few alters have their own Instagram accounts now. A ton of them are fictives. Some of them are even from the Hollow. Skeet, Mira and multiple Adams live rent free in my head thanks to all the stress I've been under lately. :D

Also Sleet and Andrew from that bootleg AU. Sleet is currently offended that I am including him as a footnote. Andrew is chill about it.

So yeah, life is weird and difficult right now. But I am living it. :>

Anyways I’d say I’m down for whatever you decide to write. But I think Reeve learning about what Adam said to Kai in that castle, about Kai being Reeve’s replacement and feeling inferior to Reeve now that he’s back, would be something that could easily be worked with.

Ultimately though. I’d say go for whatever you want. If Kaidam and Reedam are large freight ships, then Reekai is but a paddle boat. Any cargo would be greatly appreciated!

Alright! Be warned, this is my weirdest AU yet.

Ok so basically, The Hollow but the teens DID wound up in an alternate universe, which is simply called “The Hollow” obviously. It sort of functions as a mixture of the Backrooms and Neverland in that you can go to The Hollow through seemingly vague and strange means, and ONLY children and teenagers can be transported there. Sometimes you just need to no-clip your way into The Hollow, other times The Hollow literally manifests itself (like in, say, A VR game) and steals you away. It’s the land of the forgotten, the nameless reality.

A unique thing that sets apart visitors of The Hollow from denizens of The Hollow is that visitors can become literal gods. The first soul that landed in The Hollow automatically assumed godhood in the blank void that The Hollow used to be and allowed other lost souls like himself to assume godhood via a ritual and join him in his development of The Hollow. Many individuals have gone through the ritual and ascended to this high status, essentially killing their former selves and becoming the manifestation of certain concepts. What god a person becomes is never one’s choice; what role and form one assumes when ascended is based on a multitude of factors: lifestyle, knowledge, beliefs, wishes, desires, and skillsets.

Still with me? Good. Now, basically in this AU everything that happens in the first season happens up to the point where Vanessa betrays Kai and Adam is struck with the Ishibo. The two teams end up fighting for the Ishibo, which in the final moments of the battle ends up in Kai’s hand.

Instead of escaping from the scene with Mira, however, Kai runs away from everyone and takes Adam with him. It takes a while of the other four kids to find Kai, by that point Kai has already drawn the ritual circle for the ascension ritual on the ground. Kai ended up finding this book that contained instructions of the ritual as well as an magically updating list of all the current gods of the Hollow in that tunnel him and Adam fell into, the one where that blind guy was. The ritual requires the blood or body part of one of the gods, and luckily the Ishibo counts.

Kai THINKS that by ascending to godhood, everyone can cease their fighting and he can obtain the power to return everyone home and save Adam. He’s also really fed up with everything, and is a bit unhinged/not thinking straight since Adam is on the brink of death.

Remember when I said that one can’t control what kind of god one becomes, however? That statement was important. If all a fourteen year old boy knows is fear, and hunger, and the looming threat of death, what kind of god is he going to become?

Yeah, exactly, The God of fear and hunger and death.

So Kai stabs himself with the Ishibo and his body splits open to create an ascension egg (it’s as graphic as it sounds). Adam is absorbed into the egg and protected by the growing god inside, and then the entire ice castle begins to collapse and Reeve, Vanessa, Skeet, and Mira barely manage to escape the scene. Skeet was the only one who didn’t cover his ears in time when the newly risen Malakai let out his first scream, and Skeet’s eardrums ended up shattering as a result, making him deaf. He was also the only one that directly looked at Malakai’s form, with scared him so shitless that he is now immune to fear.

With no Ishibo to return to the Ironwood tree, Mira, Skeet, Reeve, and Vanessa are effectually trapped in The Hollow. They COULD follow the ironwood tree’s roots to the Mother Ironwood Tree: Beranda, which is the god of transportation and wisdom. But she’s at like the literal center of the world. It would take CENTURIES to mine to the core.

The gang’s best bet according to the ironwood tree’s advice upon returning to her was to grow a new ironwood tree using one of her leaves and hope that it reaches maturity before the gang collectively turns 50.

So then 20 years go by. Mira and Skeet get married and have a kid: Kendall, who comes out as gender-fluid really young. When Kendall reaches their preteens a tree falls on Skeet’s legs and cripples him, forcing Kendall to become the main scavenger and provider of the family.

Mira and Reeve have a kid a few years after Kendall is born, named Neive, and she mostly lives with Skeet and Mira but visits Reeve in the refurbished Demon Temple on the weekends, where Reeve now spends most of his days in solitude and study of The Hollow and its gods.

Vanessa starts researching alchemy and the ways of the witches without going batshit insane, thanks to Reeve’s spiritual knowledge. Vanessa gives Kendall their girlification and boyification potions…oh yeah also she’s pregnant with Reeve’s kid by the beginning of the story.

One day Kendall goes to the arctic where they find this tall amber tower, which they then enter despite knowing barely anything about it. They then invade the center of the tower despite the local’s multiple warnings. Surprise: The Amber tower replaced the ice castle. It’s essentially Malakai’s physical domain. Where the souls of the dead rest eternally within the amber glow.

Anyways, Kendall finds and frees Adam from an amber cocoon, then sprints the hell out of there as Malakai is VERY ANGRY that Adam has been stolen away. The amber tower tries every way possible to crush Kendall and get Adam back; Thanks to Kendall inheriting their dad’s super speed though, they make it out of the tower with barely a scratch and bring Adam home, where a still physically sixteen year old Adam wakes up, having been healed from the Ishibo’s strike thanks to the energy released from the ascension ritual, and freaks the hell out because why is everyone old?! What happened?! What did he miss?!

The gang explain to Adam part of what happened, purposely leaving out the Kai became a fucking death god part because no one likes to talk about it. Kendall and Adam and Neive then vibe and are buddies for a bit and have lil adventures here and there!

…Until suddenly Malakai’s cult comes around to cause havoc. Apparently Malakai is still pretty pissed that Adam is gone and wants Adam to return and rest in the amber glow…whoops.

The rest I won’t discuss partially because they’re spoilers, and partially because I still don’t know what happens next honestly some of what I explained also isn’t fully set in stone. But yeah here’s the AU. I don’t know, feel free to ask questions or something, haha.
