Guardian of Light
(Male)
Author's Note: Well, this is the last chapter for Dune Part 1. But don't worry, I'm thinking about what to write for Part 2 chapters right now. But because there will be a lot more to cover in Dune Part 2, the updates for the story will be slower than Part 1's updates. Like, I'll post the Female and the Male, but the next chapter that continues the story will take longer. But the formula will still be the same. Female chapter first, then, the next day, the Male verison.
Side Note: Timothée in these GIFs! Ahh!! Kill me now, he's so attractive! I also just want to hug him.
Hope you enjoy the final chapter of Dune Part 1! ♥️

Chapter 12: The Fremen
Tumblr media
〰️
Paul ran up to (Your Name) when the worm left, almost knocking him over as he wrapped his arms around him in a hug.
(Your Name) hugged back just as tight, breathing heavily as his hand moved up to cradle the back of Paul's neck. “I'm okay, babe, don't worry.” He muttered softly.
Paul sighed shakily, moving to his head to press his forehead to (Your Name)'s. “I was so worried about you…” He whispered, his voice shaky.
“Shh…. it's alright, baby. I'm alright.” He moved one of Paul's hands from his waist and placed it over his chest, where his heart is. “I'm right here.” He whispered.
Paul felt his best friend's heartbeat, and he let out a shaky sigh of relief. (Your Name)'s heartbeat grounded him; he wouldn't know what to do if it stopped beating.
He nuzzled his nose against his gently before he pulled away from the embrace and took (Your Name)'s hand in his and started to walk off into the rocky mountain.
(Your Name) saw Jessica's worried look and gave the older woman's hand a gentle squeeze. Jessica squeezed the boy's hand back.
“How big are they? That was insane.” Jessica said, panting while leaning down on the rock.
“Someone called him,” (Your Name) informed, looking around, feeling eyes on him. He clenched his hand. “We're not alone.” He sighed to Paul and Jessica.
A Fremen male appeared behind Paul, making (Your Name) push him behind him. He got into a fighting stance, ready to summon the Keyblade if needed; as more Fremen appeared from the rocks.
“Do not run. You will only waste your body's water.” A familiar voice spoke.
(Your Name) turned his attention to the man that spoke. He was laying on a rock. He recognized him.
“Stilgar. I remember you came to Paul's father's council.”
The man, Stilgar, hummed, pulling down his cloth that covered his mouth. “This is (Your Name). The Haris Aldaw’.”
The boy tilted his head to the side as he listened to the Fremen mutter amongst themselves.
“These are the two boys I told you about. We can't touch them.” Stilgar replied to his fellow Fremen.
“Is he the Haris Aldaw’? Is he Lisan al-Gaib?”
“They haven't proven themselves “
“They're weaklings.” The same angry voice pull out a weapon.
(Your Name) was very close to summoning the Keyblade.
“Jamis…” Stilgar stopped the male. “There was a brave crossing they made in the path of Shai-Hulud. Both boys do not speak or act like a weakling.”
“My thumper saved their lives. Go back to reason, Stilgar. He's not the Haris Aldaw’ and the other boy's not The One.” Jamis snapped back.
(Your Name) was about to prove the male wrong, but Jessica spoke up before he could act. “We have powerful friends. One for them being right here,” She gestured to (Your Name) who was standing in front of Paul, protecting him, “You help us off world, to Caladan, you will be well rewarded.”
“What wealth can you offer beyond the water in your flesh.” Stilgar spoke back, the Fremen now standing up from their crouched positions.
(Your Name) growled lowly, still in a fighting stance, ready to fight if needed.
Stilgar observed the trio, “The boys are young. They can learn our ways. They may have sanctuary. But the woman isn't trained and too old to learn.” He made his way down his spot on the rocks, jumping in front of the trio.
The blue-eyed boy stepped in front of Stilgar. “You don't want to do this, Stilgar.” He warned in a low, threatening tone, staring at the older man.
Stilgar paused when he looked into the boy's eyes. ‘Sapphire blue…. the color of cobalt. They're his eyes.’ He thought to himself.
Paul and Jessica started fighting other Fremen who tried to attack them, while Stilgar lunged at (Your Name). The boy summoned the Keyblade and blocked his knife with it. Stilgar stilled at the sight of the key shaped blade, giving the chance for (Your Name) to push Stilgar away from him.
He got into a fighting stance. Stilgar lunged at him again, but (Your Name) dodged rolled out of the way, and the two started to fight.
Their blades clanged as they collided with each other. At one point, Stilgar managed to disarm (Your Name), the Keyblade flinging out of his hand. Stilgar pointed his blade at the boy's throat.
Everyone else stopped fighting to see this happen. The mother and son were worried when (Your Name) was disarmed.
But (Your Name) smirked and raised his hand to the side of him. The Keybalde disappeared and reappeared in his hand.
The move took Stilgar off guard, and (Your Name) knocked Stilgar's crysknife out of his hand. He tried to back away, but (Your Name) shot off a Blizzard spell at the older man, freezing his legs in place. The attack stunned him, and (Your Name) pointed his Keyblade at him threateningly.
“I did warn you.” He growled.
Paul felt a shiver run down his spine at (Your Name)’s tone. His cheeks felt warmer, and his eyes became hazy as he panted softly, loving the sight of his boy being threatening.
Stilgar was in awe at this boy's power. “So it's true, you are the Haris Aldaw ‘,” Stilgar muttered, then added louder, “Why didn't you just show us your blade?” His question came out shaky, showing his nervousness.
“You didn't exactly ask nicely.” (Your Name) spoke, walking closer to the older man.
“Peace, boy, peace. I judged too hastily.”
The boy sighed softly, using his Fire magic to unfreeze Stilgar.
“The sun is rising. We must reach Sietch Tabr.” Stilgar informed the Fremen in their language, “The fate of the strangers will be decided there. Until then, they are under my protection. I give you my word.” He opened up his stillsuit a little, cutting his skin to show his promise and the other Fremen followed alongside.
Paul walked up to (Your Name), who now made his Keyblade disappear. He looked at Paul, seeing he brought another girl with him, making him curious as to who she was. The male came over and gave his friend a tight hug, which he returned. They parted when they heard Stilgar speak,
“Chani, take charge of the newcomers. See that they are safe on the journey. Let's go “
“I will not have them.” A voice spoke out.
“Jamis, I have spoken. Be still.” Stilgar said, and (Your Name) narrowed his eyes on Jamis, standing close to Paul.
“You talk like a leader but the strongest leads. He bested you. I invoke the Amtal.”
(Your Name) summoned his Keyblade again, ready to fight him but Paul grabbed his arm gently, stopping him. Jessica walked forward as well but was stopped by Stilgar's voice.
“You may not challenge a sayyadina, nor the Haris Aldaw’.”
“Then who will fight in his name?”
Stilgar turned back around to his friend, “Jamis, don't do this. Don't. The night is fading.”
“Then the sun will witness this death. Where is his champion?” Jamis asked the group in a growl.
Paul gave (Your Name) a kiss on his temple and stepped forward to accept the challenge
“No… Paul don't…” He whispered, going up to following him, but was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see Chani, who shook her head gently.
“I accept his champion.” Jamis nodded his head.
〰️
Everyone was getting ready for the fight.
(Your Name) walked over to Paul, who was getting ready to fight Jamis.
He saw Paul staring ahead, and he guessed that he was seeing another vision. (Your Name) placed a hand on the side of his face.
Paul snapped out of his trance and looked at (Your Name) when he felt his gentle touch and turned to look at him. “You don't have to do this, Paul. I could do it.”
The curly haired boy frowned and shook his head. “Absolutely not. You're not doing it (Your Name).”
But-” (Your Name) started to protest but was interrupted by Paul.
“You're too important,” He let out a shaky breath, “You're too important to me.” Paul placed his hands on the boy's cheeks, cupping his face.
“I would rip apart all the universes just to get you back (Your Name). That's how important you are to me.” He looked into his sapphire blue eyes.
(Your Name) felt his eyes get watery at Paul's confession. “Paul… I feel the exact same way about you too,” He cupped the sides of his face, “But please…. be careful. I don't know what I would do if you got hurt or got killed.” He whispered, sniffling.
Paul moved closer to (Your Name), their bodies gently pressed against each other's. He wrapped his arms around the boy's waist, pressing the side of his face against hers. (Your Name) returned the hug, wrapping his arms around Paul's neck. They stay like this for a few moments before pulling away a little.
The childhood friends pressed their foreheads against each other's. They were so close that they could feel their breaths against their lips. If one of them moved their lips, they would end up kissing.
(Your Name) could feel his heart beating fast as he looked into Paul's hazel green eyes. His heart started beating even faster when Paul leaned in, parting his lips and gently crashing his lips against his own. He gasped softly against his lips but kissed back. The warmth of his mouth sent a tingling sensation all throughout his body, making him tremble as Paul wrapped his arms around him. Paul pulled him even closer, leaving no space between them. (Your Name)’s eyes fluttered shut as did Paul's.
Their lips were in fast but soft sync against each other. (Your Name) slid his hands to Paul's curly brown hair, feeling the locks in between his fingers, gently tugging on them on instinct, making Paul moan softly against his lips. Paul caught the boy's bottom lip in between his lips slightly.
The action made (Your Name) weak in the knees, but he almost keeled over when he felt Paul's tongue drag across his bottom lip, silently asking for entry. He opened his mouth, silently giving him access, and he let out a muffled moan when he felt Paul's tongue slide into his mouth, caressing his tongue with his. Butterflies danced throughout his belly as they two made out, their tongues caressing each other's, as they held onto each other for dear life.
(Your Name) could feel his body heat up the more they continued. He had never felt like this before, and he loved every second of it.
The two turned their heads in opposite directions as they deepened the kiss even further. When Paul's tongue circled around (Your Name)’s slowly, he almost bent down, feeling his knees weaken more. Paul held him up, not letting the kiss break.
Paul moved his left hand to (Your Name)'s face, caressing his cheek with his thumb. The coldness of the ring on his finger felt cold against (Your Name)’s warm cheek, but he paid it no mind, as he carded his fingers through Paul's soft curly locks.
The two moved their lips in perfect, passionate sync, their bodies pressed against each other's, worried that not feeling each other would drive them crazy.
After a few more minutes of passionately kissing, Paul slowly removed his lips from (Your Name)’s, making a soft smacking sound. He breathed heavily as he pressed his forehead to (Your Name)'s. He opened his eyes slowly as his hazel green hues stared into (Your Name)’s sapphire blue one's, seeing them sparkle with love.
“I love you…” Paul exhaled, trying to control himself after the passionate moment. His voice came out raspy and deep, making (Your Name) blush and tremble against him.
“I love you too… more than everything.” (Your Name) breathed out, feeling tears well up in his eyes. He moved his hands out of Paul's hair and cupped his jawline. “Be careful when you fight that man.” He whispered to him.
Paul nuzzled his nose against (Your Name)’s, comforting him. “I promise.” He nipped the boy's bottom lip gently, “For you, my love, I promise…”
The blue-eyed boy sniffled softly, “I love you so much.” He whimpered faintly. He spoke so softly that it probably couldn't even be heard.
But Paul heard him. “I love you too.” He cooed, leaning forward and capturing his lips into another kiss. This kiss was soft and tender.
The lovers broke apart and looked into each other's eyes.
Their tender moment ended when they heard someone walking towards them. They turned and saw it was Chani.
“I don't believe you are the Lisan al-Gaib,” She said to Paul before turning her head to (Your Name), “I believe you are the Haris Aldaw’ though.” She gave the boy a small smile, but it faded quickly.
(Your Name) smiled softly at the girl, pressing himself closer to Paul's body.
Chani turned her attention back to Paul, “But I want you to die with honor,” She reached and gave him a blade, “This crysknife was given to me by my great aunt. It's made from a tooth of Shai-Hulud, the great sandworm. It would be a great honor if you die holding it.”
Paul took the blade with his gloved hand, observing it as (Your Name) looked at Chani like she was crazy for how she thought Paul was going to die, furrowing his brows together.
“Where is the outsider?!” Jamis yelled, walking back and forth around the fighting area.
The trio's eyes went to him, and then the lovers turned to Chani when she spoke, smiling tightly, “Jamis is a good fighter. He won't let you suffer.”
Chani was about to walk away, but (Your Name) stopped her when he spoke, “It was nice meeting you, Chani.” He spoke, a kind smile on his face.
Chani nodded her head to the boy, lips lifting up into a small, playful smirk, “You too, (Your Name).”
Paul grabbed his boyfriend's hand and walked over to the fighting area where Jamis was squatting, waiting for Paul.
Paul turned to (Your Name) seeing his scared expression. He reached his hand out and cupped the side of his face, “I will be alright, love.”
(Your Name) lent into the touch, rubbing his cheek against Paul's gloved hand, “I know you will be.” He whispered, a soft smile on his face.
Paul returned the small smile and leaned forward and kissed the boy, their lips moving in perfect sync. Paul kissed him harder and deeper, making the boy whimper against his lips, gripping at his waist.
He pulled back from (Your Name)’s lips, both of them panting. Paul captured (Your Name)'s bottom lip between his teeth gently, playing with it a bit before letting it go. He nudged his nose against his before walking over to where Jamis waited.
(Your Name) walked over to Jessica. The older woman wrapped her arms around the boy, comforting him while he watched the love of his life fight.
“May thy knife chip and shatter.” Jamis spat, standing up from his kneeling position.
Paul just started, a serious expression on his face before he saluted using his blade.
They started fighting and Paul was deflecting hits well, getting hits on Jamis as well who returned the hits. Thought, at one point, Paul got close and aimed the at Jamis’ throat,
“Do you yield?!”
Paul's aggressive yell made the Fremen speak amongst themselves. (Your Name) held onto Jessica tighter, inhaling and exhaling softly in worry.
“The boy does not know our rules. There is no yielding under the Amtal rules. Only death is the test of that.”
Stilgar's words made (Your Name)’s eyes widened in fear as he turned his attention back onto the fight, worry gnawing away at him.
Jamis moved out of Paul's grip, and they started fighting again. Paul kept landing hits and dodging attacks, not aiming to kill. This made Jamis impatient and angrier.
“Is he toying with him?” Stilgar asked Jessica and (Your Name).
“No.” (Your Name) replied softly, “Paul has never killed a man.”
Jamis had shoved Paul onto the ground hard, yelling; provoking Paul.
Paul stood up, his curly hair covering his face slightly, staring at Jamis with a determined look.
Tumblr media
(Your Name) was now more worried about the other male than his boyfriend.
Then, Paul attacked. He ran forward past Jamis, dodging an attack, and stabbed Jamis in the side, ending the fight. He had become the man he was supposed to be, even if he didn't want to.
(Your Name) let out a shaky exhale as Jamis’ body fell to the ground. All the Fremen stood up, moving down to take their defeated friend.
Paul walked away slowly. The Fremen patted his shoulders on the way as he made his way over to where his boyfriend was, his head down.
Tumblr media
(Your Name) left Jessica's arms as he jogged over to Paul. They met on the side of the fighting area. They made eye contact and (Your Name) saw; just by looking into Paul's eyes, that the old Paul was gone.
Paul's face held so much sorrow and dread. It made (Your Name)’s heart clench. He saw tears well up in his eyes, and he didn't even hesitate to hug him tightly.
Tumblr media
The curly haired boy hugged back just as tightly, wrapping his arms around (Your Name)'s waist.
(Your Name) pulled away to look at Paul's face. He wiped the blood under Paul's nose with his thumb. Paul's lips quivered terribly at his gentle touch.
The blue-eyed boy cupped Paul's face in his hands, thumbs caressing his cheeks. “It's okay,” He cooed, “You're okay.”
Paul just stared at his boy, looking into his soft sapphire blue eyes, watching him lean closer to him. He gently placed his lips against his. Their lips immediately started moving eagerly yet softly against each other's.
(Your Name) could feel Paul's lips trembling against his, so he slowed the kiss down. Paul rubbed his thumbs against the sides of the boy's stomach, making him breathe out a soft whistle from his nose, sounding like a breathy giggle.
The reaction was all Paul needed to feel better as they pulled away from the kiss, but not entirely; their lips were now just caressing each other's.
“You did what you had to Paul…” He whispered, brushing his nose against his.
Paul closed his eyes, letting out a faint whimper and pressing his forehead against (Your Name)’s. “I love you so much…” He breathed out, his voice shaky.
“I love you too..” He whispered back, nuzzling his nose against Paul's again, which he graciously returned.
“You're one of us now. A life for a life.” Stilgar's voice broke the couple apart, “Come with us to Sietch Tabr.” He looked between the couple, not even bothered.
“No,” Jessica interjected, “They need to get off world. You must have ways. You have smugglers, you have ships.”
“No,” Paul stopped his mother, “The Emperor sent us to this place. And my father came… not for Alice, not for the riches, but for the strength of your people.” Paul glanced down to the love of his life, seeing him smile at him, nodding his head; “Our road leads into the desert. I can see it. If you'll have us, we will come.”
〰️
The Fremen led (Your Name), Paul and Jessica, into the desert as they walked on the sand. The sun was now high, and the sky was a soft blue.
(Your Name) stopped, admiring the scenery. He looked closer and saw someone, more like a Fremen, riding a worm through the sand.
“Desert power.” He whispered in awe, smiling widely at the sight. He thought about out if she could do something like that or something greater.
Chani heard him turning around to smile at (Your Name), “This is only the beginning.”
The blue-eyed boy smiled to himself, watching Chani walk off. Then, he felt a hand on his jawline. He turned and saw Paul.
With his attention on him now, Paul kissed him passionately. The boy hummed against Paul's lips, placing his hands on the sides of Paul's neck.
The couple pull away, both for them smiling softly before they rub their noses against each other's.
They looked into each other's eyes as the sun shined down brightly on them.
Their journey was only beginning.

Paul moved his left hand to her face, caressing her cheek with his thumb. The coldness of the ring on his finger felt cold against (Your Name)’s warm cheek but she paid it no mind, as she carded her fingers through Paul's soft curly locks.
The two moved their lips in perfect, passionate sync, their bodies pressed against each other's, worried that not feeling each other would drive them crazy.
After a few more minutes of passionately kissing, Paul slowly removed his lips from (Your Name)’s, making a soft smacking sound. He breathed heavily as he pressed his forehead to hers.
“I love you too… more than everything.” (Your Name) breathed out, feeling tears well up in her eyes. She moved her hands out of Paul's hair and cupped his jawline. “Be careful when you fight that man.” She whispered to him.
Paul nuzzled his nose against (Your Name)’s, comforting her. “I promise.” He nipped her bottom lip gently, “For you, my love, I promise…”
The blue-eyed girl sniffled softly, “I love you so much.” She whimpered faintly. She spoke so softly that it probably couldn't even be heard.
But Paul heard her. “I love you too.” He cooed, leaning forward and capturing her lips into another kiss. This kiss was soft and tender.
The lovers broke apart and looked into each other's eyes.
Their tender moment ended when they heard someone walking towards them. They turned and saw it was Chani.
“I don't believe you are the Lisan al-Gaib,” She said to Paul, before turning her head to (Your Name), “I believe you are the Haris Aldaw’ though.” She gave the girl a small smile but it faded quickly.
(Your Name) smiled softly at the girl, pressing herself closer to Paul's body.
Chani turned her attention back to Paul, “But I want you to die with honor,” She reached and gave him a blade, “This crysknife was given to me by my great aunt. It's made from a tooth of Shai-Hulud, the great sandworm. It would be a great honor if you die holding it.”
Paul took the blade with his gloved hand, observing it as (Your Name) looked at Chani like she was crazy for how she thought Paul was going to die, furrowing her brows together.
“Where is the outworlder?!” Jamis yelled, walking back and forth around the fighting area.
The trio's eyes went to him then the lovers turned to Chani when she spoke, smiling tightly, “Jamis is a good fighter. He won't let you suffer.”
Chani was about to walk away, but (Your Name) stopped her when she spoke, “It was nice meeting you, Chani.” She spoke, a kind smile on her face.
Chani nodded her head to the girl, lips lifting up into a small, playful smirk, “You too, (Your Name).”
Paul grabbed his girlfriend's hand and walked over to the fighting area where Jamis was squatting, waiting for Paul.
Paul turned to (Your Name) seeing her scared expression. He reached his hand out and cupped the side of her face, “I will be alright, love.”
(Your Name) lent into the touch, rubbing her cheek against Paul's gloved hand, “I know you will be.” She whispered, a soft smile on her face.
Paul returned the small smile and leant forward and kissed the girl, their lips moving in perfect sync. Paul kissed her harder and deeper, making the girl whimper against his lips, gripping at his waist.
He pulled back from (Your Name)’s lips, both of them panting. He captured her bottom lip between his teeth gently, playing with it a bit before letting it go. He nudged his nose against hers before walking over to where Jamis waited.
(Your Name) walked over to Jessica. The older woman wrapped her arms around the girl, comforting her while she watched the love of her life fight.
Only death is the test of it.”
Stilgar's words made (Your Name)’s eyes widened in fear as she turned her attention back onto the fight, worry gnawing away at her.
Jamis moved out of Paul's grip, and they started fighting again. Paul kept landing hits and dodging attacks, not aiming to kill. This made Jamis impatient and angrier.
“Is he toying with him?” Stilgar asked the women.
“No.” (Your Name) replied softly, “Paul has never killed a man.”
Jamis had shoved Paul onto the ground hard, yelling; provoking Paul.
Paul stood up, his curly hair covering his face slightly, staring at Jamis with a determined look.
Tumblr media
(Your Name) was now more worried about the other male than her boyfriend.
The Fremen patted his shoulders on the way as he made his way over to where his girlfriend was, his hair covering his face and his head down.
Tumblr media
(Your Name) left Jessica's arms as she jogged over to Paul. They met on the side of the fighting area. They made eye contact and (Your Name) saw; just by looking into Paul's eyes, that the old Paul was gone.
Paul's face held so much sorrow and dread. It made (Your Name)’s heart clench. She saw tears well up in his eyes and she didn't even hesitate to hug him tightly.
Tumblr media
The curly haired boy hugged back just as tightly, wrapping his arms around her waist.
(Your Name) pulled away to look at Paul's face. She wiped the blood under his nose with her thumb. Paul's lips quivered terribly at her gentle touch.
The blue-eyed girl cupped his face in her hands, thumbs caressing his cheeks. “It's okay,” She cooed, “You're okay.”
Paul just stared at his girl, looking into her soft sapphire blue eyes, watching her lean closer to him. She gently placed her lips against his. Their lips immediately started moving eagerly yet softly against each other's.
(Your Name) could feel Paul's lips trembling against hers, so she slowed the kiss down. Paul rubbed his thumbs against the sides of the girl's stomach, making her breathe out a soft whistle from her nose, sounding like a breathy giggle.
The reaction was all that Paul needed to feel better as they pulled away from the kiss, but not entirely; their lips were now just caressing each other's.
“You did what you had to Paul…” She whispered, brushing her nose against his.
Paul closed his eyes, letting out a faint whimper and pressed his forehead against (Your Name)’s. “I love you so much…” He breathed out, his voice shaky.
“I love you too..” She whispered back, nuzzling her nose against his again, which he graciously returned.
“You're one of us now. A life for a life.” Stilgar's voice broke the couple apart, “Come with us to Sietch Tabr.” He looked between the couple.
“No,” Jessica interjected, “They need to get off world. You must have ways. You have smugglers, you have ships.”
“No,” Paul stopped his mother, “The Emperor sent us to this place. And my father came… not for spice, not for the riches, but for the strength of your people.” Paul glanced down to the love of his life, seeing her smile at him, nodding her head; “Our road leads into the desert. I can see it. If you'll have us, we will come.”
〰️
The Fremen led (Your Name), Paul and Jessica into the desert, as they walked on the sand. The sun was now high and the sky a soft blue.
(Your Name) stopped, admiring the scenery. She looked closer and saw someone, more like a Fremen, riding a worm through the sand.
“Desert power.” She whispered in awe, smiling widely at the sight. She thought about out if she could do something like that, or something greater.
Chani heard her turning around to smile at (Your Name), “This is only the beginning.”
The blue-eyed girl smiled to herself, watching Chani walk off. Then, she felt a hand on her jawline. She turned and saw Paul.
With her attention on him now, Paul kissed her passionately. The girl hummed against his lips, placing her hands on the sides of his neck.
The couple pull away, both for then smiling softly before they rub their noses against each other's.
They looked into each other's eyes as the sun shined down brightly on them.
Their journey was only beginning.

Chapter 11: Walking the Sand
Tumblr media
〰️
The trio ran through the hallways to get to the Ornithopter that was set up for them.
They arrive at it, but Heartless materialized to slow them down. (Your Name) summoned his Keyblade.
“Get it working, I'll handle them!”
The mother and son nodded as they ran to the Ornithopter.
(Your Name) slashed at the Heartless and casted Blizzard and Fire to get rid of them. Luckily, not many appeared, and he managed to beat all of them.
“(Your Name)!”
The call of his name reached his ears as he turned and saw Paul waving his arm out to get his attention.
“Come on!”
The (Hair Color) haired boy ran to them and hopped into the thopter. He buckled himself in as Jessica did the same.
Paul goes to the pilots chair but not before pressing a kiss onto (Your Name)’s forehead. The boy gave Paul's hand a squeeze in return.
Paul fired up the aircraft, flicking on all the buttons needed. He started to fly the Ornithopter across the desert, away from the Sardaukar trying to kill them.
(Your Name) heard other motors behind them. “Jet flyers.”
“They're behind us.” Jessica added.
Paul flew faster and headed directly toward the sandstorm.
“God, why is the boy I love out of his mind?” (Your Name) muttered as he held on for dear life. Paul heard him and smirked cockily to himself, flying faster in response.
The thopter started beeping, sensing something coming at them. Paul just pushed the lever forward more.
“Paul! We're not high enough!” Jessica yelled.
“Trust him!” (Your Name) yelled as well.
Paul smirked confidently at his love's statement, and they entered into the sandstorm. The ship rocked violently, getting destroyed by the harsh storm.
Suddenly, Paul had let go of the driving lever.
The thopter was flying in the wind, moving freely. (Your Name) felt how it moved with the wind, traveling with it like it was a part of it. He held on tighter and closed his eyes.
“We're above five thousand meters.” Paul said.
The cloud eventually disappeared, the view becoming clear again. Paul kept a steady grip on the lever to keep the Ornithopter in control.
“As soon as we land, run for the rocks.” Paul told Jessica and (Your Name).
Though, the thopter began to free fall out of the sky, spinning and turning. (Your Name) let out a small scream, holding on even tighter. The out-of-control Ornithopter landed hard on the ground, sliding across the sand. It eventually stopped, landing on its side.
(Your Name) let out a sigh of relief. Paul helped him out of thopter, carrying him bridal style. He placed him on his feet and checked the boy for scratches, his hand on his best friend's cheek, the coldness of Paul's ring didn't bother him. If anything, it grounded him.
“Good. You're okay.” Paul whispered, pressing a kiss onto his forehead before grabbing the stuff they needed. He took (Your Name)’s hand and ran towards the rocks, Jessica following close behind.
When they got up far enough on the rock, Paul started to take out some things. His hand touches something foreign. He pulled out, and it was a crysknife. He immediately knew who this belonged to.
“My crysknife.” (Your Name) whispered, walking up to Paul. He gingerly took it from Paul's hand, caressing the blade with his fingertips. He frowned before putting it back in a bag for now.
Paul and Jessica started to get the stillsuits out and started to change into them. (Your Name) stood by, occasionally glancing at Paul as he changed in front of him, feeling his cheeks heat up at the sight of his bare body. The boy felt his gaze on him, and he smirked a little to himself.
“Aren't you going to change, (Your Name)?” Jessica asked.
“My clothes…” He gestured to the colorful ensemble, “are magical. They can change at will.” He replied. Jessica nodded and continued to change.
The mother and son finished changing, (Your Name) came over to help Jessica with her stillsuit.
“You breathe through this,” (Your Name) showed Jessica a device that was on the stillsuit and fixed it for her.
Once they were finished, they packed up everything and started their journey to find the Fremen.
(Your Name) looked around, on alert, in case any Heartless showed up.
“Now, we have to find the Fremen.” Paul told them, his voice muffled by his mask.
“Let's go.” (Your Name) nodded to the two, walking across the sand, still alert, and led them through the caves in the mountains.
〰️
The group had stopped for a little while, sitting on rocks. (Your Name); his clothes switched to a stillsuit, saw Paul stare off into a daze again, not knowing he was seeing him in his vision.
Paul was following (Your Name) down the mountain caves, stopping when he stopped at something in a cocoon. A little desert mouse was being brought to life.
The curly haired male knelt down to (Your Name)'s level, still being higher than him as they knelt down on the ground, watching.
Paul looked down at (Your Name) through his eyelashes. He was smiling sweetly at the sight. Paul smiled softly at the sigh of his love and laid his head on top of his, rubbing his cheek against his hair. The blue-eyed boy blushed lightly at the action but smiled softly and continued to watch the desert mouse, with Paul now watching too.
Back in the real world, Paul snapped out of his vision and took (Your Name)’s hand. The two share a look, their gazes softening; before they started walking again.
The desert became darker as nighttime approached. “The sietch, where Duncan lived. Somewhere off the way.” Paul told them, holding the paracompass that Duncan gifted him.
(Your Name) took out some binoculars from his bag; that also held his crysknife and looked through them. “I can see greenery over there. That means Fremen live there.” He spoke.
“We'll cross after dark. That's how the Fremen do it.” Paul said, grabbing the binoculars from (Your Name), “We're about to enter worm territory. We can't walk like regular humans, if we do, we're dead.”
(Your Name) hummed in agreement, “The film we watched. Fremen invented their own walk. It's called the sandwalk. At least according to the film books back home.”
Jessica nodded, “Yeah, yeah, I've got it.”
“Okay, follow us. Do the same moves.” Pauk instructed, then started doing the sandwalk with (Your Name) behind him and Jessica behind him.
They continued their slow steps in the sand, Paul using his paracompass to help guide them. They climbed sand dunes and took breaks in between. On one of those breaks, (Your Name) heard distant rumbling, but it faded quickly. They continued their walk, but (Your Name) had a bad feeling.
“Wait…” He muttered. He stopped, and the rumbling started again. “It's drum sand.”
“Run!” Paul yelled, grabbing (Your Name)’s hand in his and ran fast across the sand, away from the sand worm. Jessica ran, too, not far behind the teens.
As they ran, out of nowhere, Heartless appeared in front of Paul and (Your Name), stopping them from running further. The shadow ones, the desert dressed ones and a new kind that looked like the sand was formed into spiky versions of the sand worm.
Tumblr media
((Couldn't find a good picture, but here's what the sand Heartless looks like))
“Why now?!” (Your Name) exclaimed, summoning the Keyblade, his outfit switching to his more colorful ensemble. The vibrations got louder. (Your Name) knew he didn't have much time.
((Music: Kingdom Hearts 2 OST 33: Dance to the Death))
“Paul! Get Jessica and keep running! I'll handle this!”
The curly haired boy was hesitant to leave him, but knowing the sand worm was quickly approaching, he had no choice. He grabbed his mother's hand and started running again.
(Your Name) fought off the Heartless as fast as he could, slashing at them and casting magic. Once they were gone, he ran after the mother and son duo. The sand worm was hot on his trail, but every so often, Heartless appeared again, and (Your Name) had to fight them off, his heart rate increasing.
He started running again, but a loud thud from below him stopped him in his tracks. A giant creature emerged from the sand, blowing sand everywhere. He thought it was a sandworm, but right in front of him was a giant Heartless, shaped like the sand worm. But it was made of sand, had spikes all over its body, and was twenty times bigger than the sand Heartless he just fought.
“Oh God.” He muttered, getting into a fighting stance. He had to beat this thing. With the real sandworm getting closer, he started to slash away at the sandworm Heartless. Slashing its body, its head, and casting Fire and Blizzard at it.
It lunged at him, using the sand to transport on top or burrow underneath and strike him from below.
(Your Name) let out a yell of pain when it attacked him. He growled and got back up and continued his attack on it.
At one point, he managed to climb onto it and started to go crazy on its head, slashing at it with his Keyblade.
He jumped off it before it could strike him. He repeated the process two more times until the sand worm Heartless disappeared, a pink crystal heart floated up into the sky.
((Music ends here))
The mother and son saw glimpses of the fight as they ran to get to a safe place. They grew more and more worried the further away the (Hair Color) haired boy got. Paul, especially, who felt his heart clench in fear.
They stop momentarily. “(Your Name!)” Paul screamed.
The boy heard Paul's scream and remembered that the real sandworm was right behind him. He started running again, going faster than he did before.
He saw the two of them on a rock and sped up.
The sandworm emerged from the sand just as (Your Name) jumped onto the rock. The monster fully emerged from the sand, blowing a strong breath out of its mouth before disappearing into the sand once more.
They were safe.

Chapter 10: Discovery and Sacrifice
Tumblr media
〰️
Duncan had taken the trio back into the Ornithopter as it had become night in the desert.
(Your Name) was leaning against Paul, who had one of his arms wrapped around the boy's shoulders.
“Here.” Liet handed the trio something. “Drink this.”
“The Harkonnens hit every population center on the planet at once. It must've been ten legions, hundreds of ships. There were Sardaukar with them. At least two battalions.” Duncan informed everyone, flying the aircraft.
“Are you sure?” Jessica asked softly, a blanket wrapped around her body.
“You cross swords with a Sardaukar, you know it.” Duncan replied, looking straight ahead after glancing at (Your Name). He nodded a little at Duncan's statement.
Jessica sighed, “So, the Emperor's take a side “ She turned to Liet, “What says the Judge of the Change?”
Liet avoided eye contact, “The Emperor forbids me from saying anything at all.”
“And yet you risk your life to help us.” Paul fired back, pulling (Your Name) closer to his chest. The boy nodded in agreement, looking at the doctor.
Liet didn't answer.
〰️
Duncan landed the Ornithopter on the land, far away from anything.
Paul and Jessica were now dressed in desert clothes. (Your Name) kept his Keyblade wielder outfit on, walking hand in hand with Paul.
Liet tried to convince his to change, but the boy said that his clothes were magical and he'll be alright.
“The storm will be here in a few hours. We'll be safe here,” Liet led the group into a bunker, “Do you know what this place is? It's an old ecological testing station. They were meant to tame the planet. Free the water locked beneath the sands.” She explained as the group followed close behind.
“Arrakis could have been a paradise. The work has begun but then the spice was discovered and suddenly no one wanted the desert to go away “ She continued to explain, “Tanat, will you find stillsuits to fit our visitors?”
“Yes, Liet.” Tanat answered, walking off to get some.
“Shamir, coffee service, please.” Liet ordered another Freman.
“Of course, Liet.” Shamir replied, walking off to fulfill her request.
“Who are you to the Fremen?” (Your Name) asked curiously.
Liet just turned to him and smiled, walking through another door with the trio. Duncan stayed behind, observing his surroundings more. (Your Name) swore he saw Duncan go after the one getting the stillsuits, but he only got a glimpse.
“Do you know what the great houses fear most, Dr. Kynes?” Paul asked, his hand picking sand, “Exactly what has happened to us here. The Sardaukar coming and picking them off one by one.” Paul stood up and turned around, making eye contact with (Your Name) who stood next to Jessica.
“Only together can they stand a chance against the Imperium. Would you bear witness?” Paul started to walk forward, “Testify that the Emperor has moved against us here?”
“If they believe me…” Liet paused. “There would be general warfare between the great house and the Emperor.”
“Chaos across the Imperium.” Jessica finished sharing a look with (Your Name) and Paul.
“Let's suppose me and (Your Name) present to the Emperor with an alternative to chaos. The Emperor has no sons, and his daughters are yet to marry.” Paul said, offering the idea.
“You'd make a play for the throne?” Liet asked, bewildered by Paul's bold offer, “The Emperor feared the Atreides. He feared the Keyblade wielders. He brought you and (Your Name) here to kill you both. What don't you understand?”
Paul's eyes darken at the threat of (Your Name) his jaw flexing momentarily in suppressed anger.
“You're a lost boy hiding in a hole in the ground.” Liet concluded, staring at Paul who stared back.
“The Fremen speak of the Lisan al-Gaib and the Haris Aldaw’,” Paul started, walking around Liet.
“Careful.” Jessica warned quietly.
“The Guardian of Light, a legend that has come back to recent light and The Voice from the Outer World who will lead them to paradise.” Paul spoke again.
“Superstition.” Liet muttered.
“I know you loved a Fremen warrior and lost him in battle,” Liet looked up at Paul in subtle surprise as he continued, “I know you walk in two worlds and are known by many names. I've seen your dream.” The male was now standing right in front of Liet.
“As Emperor, Dr. Kynes, I could make a paradise for Arrakis with the wave of my hand.” Paul spoke, his tone deeper, raspier but soft.
(Your Name) felt his heartbeat pick up as butterflies formed in his stomach at the sound of Paul’s voice; knowing this man was his and his alone.
As the talking stopped, (Your Name) walked over to Duncan, who was sitting outside the door, looking down at the sand.
The male felt the boy's presence and looked up. He could tell that he wanted to ask him something.
“What is it, (Your Name)? ” He asked the boy, his voice soft.
“Earlier, during the attack, before we had to fight. You saw what was branded on my back. What was it?”
Duncan stood up. “It was some sort of symbol. Shaped like a heart.”
“Could you… draw it for me?” (Your Name) asked.
Duncan nodded without question and used his finger to draw out the symbol. The blue-eyed boy watched with bated breath.
Once Duncan finished, (Your Name) looked and felt his heartbeat pick up.
He recognized that symbol.
The Dream Eater symbol.
He kneeled down and touched the symbol with his index finger.
The moment he did this, he looked down at the symbol, his eyes glazed.
A vision showed him a dream he had.
In the dream, he saw Riku standing in the crystal blue water of an island that she assumed was his home island, Destiny Islands.
He turned his head towards (Your Name), and suddenly, the area around him turned dark, but he glowed through the pitch black. He was now mostly nude, but his hips and upward were most exposed. His body showed the battle scars he got from his journey. But the prominent one was on his back. The same symbol Duncan drew for him, scarred on his back.
Tumblr media
“(Your Name).”
Riku’s soft, deep voice broke through the silence.
The boy turned to look into his eyes.
“This is a part of you too.” He spoke softly. “Embrace it. Use it to protect the things that matter.”
He smiled softly at the boy before the vision ended.
(Your Name) came back to reality with a soft gasp. He breathed in and out softly, looking around. He saw he was back in the testing station.
“(Your Name)? (Your Name), are you alright?”
He heard Duncan's voice, and he turned to him. He had a concerned look on his face. (Your Name) nodded, affirming his well-being.
“I know what it means.” He whispered, gesturing to the symbol drawn in the sand.
“What?” Duncan asked.
“It's a part of me. It was passed down to me.”
“By who?”
Before the boy could respond, he felt a sudden change in the environment. The others felt it too because they were looking around now, their eyes landing on Duncan and (Your Name).
“Duncan…” (Your Name) whispered. The older male walked closely towards the other door. He opened it, and dark smoke appeared and disappeared, the Heartless materializing.
“Oh no, the Heartless!” (Your Name) explained, summoning his Keyblade. “Stay back, everyone!”
But more trouble came; the Sardaukar emerged.
“Sardaukar!” Duncan yelled, getting out his blade.
Everyone in the back stayed put while Duncan and (Your Name) fought off the enemies.
Duncan slashed and stabbed the Sardaukar while (Your Name) slashed and used his magic to get rid of the Heartless. He even tried out a new spell he recently acquired, the Fire spell.
He shot fireballs from his Keyblade, quickly eliminating the Heartless.
Some manage to sneak past and try to attack Paul, Jessica, and Liet but (Your Name) shot fire at the Heartless before they could cause any harm to them.
More of them appeared near the defenseless group, and (Your Name) stayed with them, fighting them off and protecting them.
Once the Heartless were eliminated, (Your Name) took a deep breath. He looked around to see if more would appear. Luckily, they didn't.
However, when (Your Name) looked at Duncan, he saw that more Sardaukar were coming.
“There's more Sardaukar!” Duncan yelled. He went over to the door and pushed the button to close it.
“No! Duncan!” Paul yelled, running towards him. (Your Name) ran after Paul.
“Paul, (Your Name), no!” Jessica yelled after the two.
Duncan turned back around to the two best friends, saluting with his blade as the door got closer to shutting.
Paul and (Your Name) ran as fast as they could to try to stop Duncan, but just as they got to the door, it closed completely.
Tumblr media
“Duncan, no!” The teens yelled desperately, pounding their fists against the door.
(Your Name) stepped back and summoned his Keyblade and tried to slash at the door, tears welling up in his eyes as he screamed the older male's name.
The two continue to attack the door, whether with fists or a weapon, desperately trying to open it.
The blue-eyed boy stepped away, ready to take another strike at the door, but a sudden, sharp pain hit his chest. He clutched his chest, letting out a groan of pain. Everyone looked at him with concern. The pain went away almost as soon as it hit.
Jessica knew what this meant.
But (Your Name) figured it out, before the older woman could say anything.
“No… he's gone. He's gone!” He cried.
Paul continued to pound on the door with his fists temporarily.
“We have to go. We have no choice.” Liet called out.
Then, a noise could be heard. Seeing that the Sardaukar were trying to get in by cutting the door apart with a laser.
Jessica and Paul ran away from the door as the small laser fired and ripped through the door. Paul grabbed the still distraught (Your Name) by his arm and pulled him against his body. The boy was still tearing up at the loss of one of his most important people.
“Shh… it's okay…” Paul cooed, pressed a hard kiss onto (Your Name)'s forehead. “I'm so sorry, baby.”
The (hair color) haired boy's tears didn't stop, but he gripped Paul's shirt and buried his face into Paul's chest, hoping that feeling some part of him would calm him down. “He's gone… he's gone Paul…” He whimpered, sniffling.
“I know. I know.” Paul buried his face into the boy's hair, pressing kisses onto the crown of his head.
The laser stopped firing. “Come on. Come on, come on!” Liet yelled as she ran. The three followed after her, Paul and (Your Name) holding each other's hand. The group ran down the hallways Liet led them through.
“Follow the light,” Liet ordered, “You'll find a thopter ready to fly. That storm out there is your best shot. Above 5,000 meters, it's mostly dust. Climb into it. Stay on top. Head south. Find the Fremen.” She handed the equipment to them.
“What about you?” (Your Name) asked.
“You're not coming with us?” Jessica asked breathlessly.
“It only seats two. Three, maybe but not four. I'll go to the next station and report this attack to the Landsraad.”
“How?” Jessica asked.
“I'm Fremen. The desert is my home.” Liet turned to (Your Name). “Protect them. Don't let them stray into the darkness.” She whispered to him. The boy nodded. “And you probably won't need a stillsuit. Part of the Haris Aldaw's power is that it is otherworldly. Protects you from other world's dangers.”
(Your Name) nodded. “All right.”
Liet adjusted the pack on her back. “Good luck.”
Paul and (Your Name) nodded to her and said in sync, “Good luck.”

Chapter 10: Discovery and Sacrifice
Tumblr media
〰️
Duncan had taken the trio back into the Ornithopter as it had become night in the desert.
(Your Name) was leaning against Paul, who had one of his arms wrapped around her shoulders.
She nodded a little at Duncan's statement.
The girl nodded in agreement, looking at the doctor.
Liet didn't answer.
〰️
Duncan landed the Ornithopter on the land, far away from anything.
Paul and Jessica were now dressed in desert clothes. (Your Name) kept her Keyblade wielder outfit on, walking hand in hand with Paul.
Liet tried to convince her to change but the girl said that her clothes were magical and she'll be alright.
Liet just turned to her and smiled, walking through another door with the trio. Duncan stayed behind, observing his surroundings more. (Your Name) swore she saw Duncan go after the one getting the stillsuits, but she only got a glimpse.

Chapter 9: A Look Into the Future
Tumblr media
〰️
The group was now in a stilltent in the desert while (Your Name), who has removed his jacket, sitting next to Jessica, watched Paul open up the fremkit.
Paul pulled out some sort of paper with a diamond drawn on it, unwrapping it to read it, “This is Dr. Yueh's handwriting.” Paul told the two. (Your Name) couldn't help but think back to what he witnessed earlier at the mention of his name. “If anyone makes it out of Arrakeen alive, there's an Atreides beacon in the fremkit. God willing they'll be able to find you.” Paul read the note.
He pulled out a thumper but stated there were no stillsuits. But then, he pulled out a cloth that wasn't supposed to be there. He unwrapped it and saw his father's ring, holding it in his hand. Just then, (Your Name) felt a pain in his chest as he looked at the ring. He felt it when the Duke was hit with the hunter-seeker, but it felt more intense. He clutched his chest and muffled his groans of pain by pressing his lips together. His eyes welled up with unshed tears.
He turned to Jessica, who was trembling, suppressing her cries. He placed an arm around Jessica's shoulders, ignoring the pain in his chest. The older woman lent into the boy's touch, appreciating the comfort, while (Your Name) and Paul held eye contact.
Jessica saw (Your Name) clutch his chest when he saw the Duke's ring, knowing what it meant. Paul, meanwhile, was confused.
Once (Your Name) dropped his arm from around Jessica, he heard Paul coughing as he turned on a small light that showed spice. The boy's expression slowly turned into concern for his best friend.
Suddenly, Paul looked up slowly, eyes glazed like he was in some sort of trance.
In his vision, he saw (Your Name) in his outfit, walking along the sand. He turned around and smiled brightly, his sapphire blue eyes sparkling and his hair covering his face a little.
He kept smiling as he turned his head around again to show soldiers fighting. A brutal war was happening. One of the soldier's helmets lifted after taking down multiple enemy soldiers, revealing Paul with blue eyes, holding a knife in his hand, breathing heavily.
Paul had tears in his eyes, a few running down his face and (Your Name) couldn't help but wipe them away with his thumbs, his face now had a concerned look on it, while Paul's face showed fear.
“That's the future. It's coming.” He started muttering, “Holy war is spreading across the universe like unquenchable fire.”
(Your Name) and Jessica shared a look of concern, “Paul, you're scared. I can see it. Tell me, please, what do you see?” The mother whispered.
In this vision, he saw (Your Name) fighting a ton of Heartless with an assortment of magic and slashing at them with his Keyblade.
“(Your Name).... the Heartless…. a battle… between Light and Darkness.” He muttered.
‘It's just like my dreams. The Keyblade wielders were fighting the same battle.’ (Your Name) thought to himself. He was starting to feel uneasy.
"What do you fear?" Jessica whispered.
Another vision came to Paul. This time, it was him and (Your Name) standing next to each other, dressed in black, with their arms wrapped around each other; his eyes blue from the spice. They watched the war; all the killing, happening below them from an airborne airship; where they were safe.
“Somebody help me, please…” Paul gasped desperately as tears started running down his face.
“Paul…” (Your Name) tried to touch his cheek to comfort him but Paul shuffled back into the corner of the tent.
“It's coming. I see a holy war spreading across the universe like unquenchable fire,” Paul felt trapped by the tent, his legs skidding into the ground as he tried to escape the claustrophobic space. “A warrior religion that waves the Atreides banner in my father's name. Fanatical legion worshiping at the shrine of my father's skull.”
“A war in my name! Everyone's shouting my name!” He was now yelling as he continued to shuffle around, trying to escape. His emotions and visions of the future were too much for him to handle.
(Your Name) had his hand over his mouth, his eyes watery at Paul's haunting words and how he was acting; wanting nothing more than to help the suffering boy.
Jessica gave the boy's shoulder a squeeze, knowing how he felt, before she moved closer to her son. “Paul Atreides. You are your father's son. You are my son. You are Duke Paul Atreides.” She kissed the side of Paul's head, hugging him, “You know who you are. You know who you are.”
“Get off me!” Paul yelled, the Voice coming through, strong, deep, and distorted.
(Your Name) jumped at his voice, backing away from the angry boy, along with Jessica. The (Hair Color) haired boy had never seen Paul like this. Never heard him yell like this. He's never been this angry. It scared him so much. Frightened him, even.
“You did this to me! You Bene Gesserit made me a freak!” Paul continued to yell.
Jessica's lips trembled at her son yelling at her, her tears freely running down her cheeks. While (Your Name) stared at Paul with fear.
Paul was breathing heavily, falling sideways onto the Stilltent ground. He steadied his breathing and looked up at (Your Name).
The sight of his fearful expression made him sob out, his voice wobbly, “(Your Name).... please… please don't look at me like that.”
(Your Name)'s tears fell down his cheeks, the frightened look on his face slowly going away and changed into a look of worry and sadness.
Paul reached a trembling hand out to him, “(Your Nickname)...”
The boy wasted no time and scrambled over to his broken best friend, his broken boy, collecting him in his arms, wrapping them around his body as Paul adjusted to a slouched kneeling position as his head went into (Your Name)'s chest.
“Please hold me… please…” Paul's sob was a mix of a plea and a beg, his tears freely running down his cheeks and landing on (Your Name)’s black shirt. His hands gripped the back of it, holding onto him like a lifeline. Like he was the only thing solid in the world he could hold onto.
(Your Name) nuzzled his nose into Paul's curly hair, arms becoming tighter as Paul repeated his plea into his chest. “Shhh…. it's alright, baby. It's alright.” He cooed. “It'll be okay,” the blue-eyed boy pressed soft kisses onto the top of his best friend's head.
Paul cried harder, “My father is dead.”
It took everything in (Your Name)’s power to not start crying aloud along with Paul. He felt tears roll down his cheeks. He sniffled softly, moving a hand into Paul's hair, carding his fingers through the curls, trying to soothe him. He moved Paul's head away from his chest and pressed their foreheads together. “I know… I'm so sorry,” He choked out before sniffling, “But I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay with you, no matter what. I'll protect you from anything, even your darkest nightmares.” He whispered.
When he said that, he felt the branding pain in his back again. He pressed his lips together to muffle any pained noises that might come out of his mouth; ignoring the pain.
Paul looked at (Your Name) through his eyelashes, tears still running down his face. The closeness he felt to him brought more comfort than anyone he could imagine could.
Paul's hands traveled up (Your Name)’s back, his fingertips caressing it gently, making the boy shiver. His left hand stayed on his back while his right moved to the back of his neck to keep him in place. He felt (Your Name) soft gasp of breath against his lips, making them quiver.
Their eyelashes brushed as they closed their eyes, taking in their presence as they held each other, not wanting to let go. The only person who was keeping him together was (Your Name), and Jessica knew that as she watched the children in love comfort each other.
She realized in that moment that these two boys were in love with each other.
The childhood best friends stayed like this for as long as they wanted.
〰️
After a while, (Your Name) and Paul separated but the male kept the boy leaning on his side.
Pail placed his father's ring on his left index finger, looking grim as he did so.
(Your Name) took Paul's hand in both of his, brought it to his lips. He pressed a hard kiss onto his knuckles.
Paul gave the boy a feeble smile, leaning over and pressing a kiss against the crown of his head in return. The blue-eyed boy looked up in response, feeling a blush bloom onto his cheeks. Paul chuckled faintly at his reaction.
A beeping sound coming from a machine in the center of the tent interrupted the moment, “Someone is near.” (Your Name) whispered as he grabbed his jacket and put it on.
“You need to drink. It's recycled water from the tent.” Paul softly told his mother, voice hoarse as he handed her the bottle.
Jessica drank from it, making a face when she tasted it.
“Sweat and tears.” The two best friends said in sync, giving the older woman slight smiles.
“All right. Let's get out of here.” Paul helped (Your Name) up and then his mother.
The male grabbed the sand compactor and activated it while holding the small light. It started to move the sand. With (Your Name)’s help with him holding the sand compactor against the tent, Paul managed to crawl out of the sand dune. As he did, he saw the small mouse creature that he learned from his recording on Arrakis. It scampered away with a soft squeak.
“(Your Name) won't be happy about that.” He joked to himself, remembering when the boy asked if he could have one.
Paul got out and helped (Your Name) out before the two of them helped Jessica out.
Once they were all out, an ornithopter flew over them, landing on the desert sand.
(Your Name) immediately recognized who was the one piloting it. “It's Duncan.”
The three ran towards the Ornithopter as Duncan got out. Duncan came sprinting out to them, knocking the three back with a hug.
“My Lady, (Your Name), Paul..” He looked between the three, landing on Paul last, “I'm so sorry… your father…”
“We know.” Paul whispered sadly, looking down as the wind blew his curly hair around.
Duncan got on one knee, bowing and grabbing Paul's left hand to place it against his forehead, “ My Lord Duke.”
(Your Name), and Jessica looked to Paul to see his reaction. He was blank faced, showing no emotion, but he did place his free hand on Duncan's shoulder. The lack of reaction worried (Your Name).
Paul was no longer a scared little boy. He was now the Duke of Atreides.

He pulled out a thumper but stated there were no stillsuits. But then, he pulled out a cloth that wasn't supposed to be there. He unwrapped it and saw his father's ring, holding it in his hand. Just then, (Your Name) felt a pain in her chest, as she looked at the ring. She felt it when the Duke was hit with the hunter-seeker but it felt more intense. She clutched her chest and muffled her groans of pain by pressing her lips together. Her eyes welled up with unshed tears.
She turned to Jessica, who was trembling, suppressing her cries. She placed an arm around Jessica's shoulders, ignoring the pain in her chest. The older woman lent into the girl's touch, appreciating the comfort, while (Your Name) and Paul held eye contact.
Jessica saw (Your Name) clutch her chest when she saw the Duke's ring, knowing what it meant. Paul, meanwhile, was confused.
Once (Your Name) dropped her arm from around Jessica, she heard Paul coughing as he turned on a small light that showed spice. The girl's expression slowly turned into concern for her best friend.
Suddenly, Paul looked up slowly, eyes glazed like he was in some sort of trance.
In his vision, he saw (Your Name) in her outfit, walking along the sand. She turned around and smiled brightly, her sapphire blue eyes sparkling and her hair covering her face a little.
She kept smiling as she turned her head around again to show soldiers fighting. A brutal war was happening. One of the soldier's helmets lifted after taking down multiple enemy soldiers, revealing Paul with blue eyes, holding a knife in his hand, breathing heavily.
Paul had tears in his eyes, a few running down his face and (Your Name) couldn't help but wipe them away with her thumbs, her face now had a concerned look on it, while Paul's face showed fear.
“That's the future. It's coming.” He started muttering, “Holy war is spreading across the universe like unquenchable fire.”
(Your Name) and Jessica shared a look of concern, “Paul, you're scared. I can see it. Tell me, please, what do you see?” The mother whispered.
In this vision, he saw (Your Name) fighting a ton of Heartless with an assortment of magic and slashing at them with her Keyblade.
“(Your Name).... the Heartless…. a battle… between Light and Darkness.” He muttered.
‘It's just like my dreams. The Keyblade wielders were fighting the same battle.’ (Your Name) thought to herself. She was starting to feel uneasy.
"What do you fear?" Jessica asked Paul in a whisper.
(Your Name) had her hand over her mouth, her eyes watery at Paul's haunting words and how he was acting; wanting nothing more than to help the suffering boy.
Jessica gave the girl's shoulder a squeeze, knowing how she felt, before she moved closer to her son.
The (Hair Color) haired girl had never seen Paul like this. Never heard him yell like this. He's never been this angry. It scared her so much. Frightened her, even.
The sight of her fearful expression made him sob out, his voice wobbly, “(Your Name).... please… please don't look at me like that.”
Her tears fell down her cheeks, the frightened look on her face slowly going away and changed into a look of worry and sadness.
He reached a trembling hand out to her, “(Your Nickname)...”
The girl wasted no time and scrambled over to her broken best friend, her broken boy, collecting him in her arms, wrapping them around his body as Paul adjusted to a slouched kneeling position as his head went into her chest.
“Please hold me… please…” Paul's sob was a mix of a plea and a beg, his tears freely running down his cheeks and landing on (Your Name)’s black shirt. His hands gripped the back of it, holding onto her like a lifeline. Like she was the only thing solid in the world he could hold onto.
(Your Name) nuzzled her nose into Paul's curly hair, arms becoming tighter as Paul repeated his plea into her chest. “Shhh…. it's alright, baby. It's alright.” She cooed. “It'll be okay.” She pressed soft kisses onto the top of his head.
Paul cried harder, “My father is dead.”
It took everything in (Your Name)’s power to not start crying aloud along with Paul. She felt tears roll down her cheeks. She sniffled softly, moving a hand into Paul's hair, carding her fingers through the curls, trying to soothe him. She moved Paul's head away from her chest and pressed their foreheads together. “I know… I'm so sorry,” She choked out before sniffling, “But I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay with you, no matter what. I'll protect you from anything, even your darkest nightmares.” She whispered.
When she said that, she felt the branding pain in her back again. She pressed her lips together to muffle any pained noises that might come out of her mouth; ignoring the pain.
Paul looked at (Your Name) through his eyelashes, tears still running down his face. The closeness he felt to her brought more comfort than anyone he could imagine could.
The male's hands traveled up (Your Name)’s back, his fingertips caressing it gently, making the girl shiver. His left hand stayed on her back while his right moved to the back of her neck to keep her in place. He felt her soft gasp of breath against his lips, making them quiver.
Their eyelashes brushed as they closed their eyes, taking in their presence as they held each other, not wanting to let go. The only person who was keeping him together was (Your Name), and Jessica knew that as she watched the children in love comfort each other.
The childhood best friends stayed like this for as long as they wanted.
〰️
After a while, (Your Name) and Paul separated but the male kept the girl leaning on his side.
Pail placed his father's ring on his left index finger, looking grim as he did so.
(Your Name) took his hand in both of hers and brought it to her lips. She pressed a hard kiss onto his knuckles.
Paul gave the girl a feeble smile, leaning over and pressed a kiss against the crown of her head in return. The girl looked up in response, feeling a blush bloom onto her cheeks. Paul chuckled faintly at her reaction.
A beeping sound coming from a machine in the center of the tent interrupted the moment, “Someone is near.” (Your Name) whispered as she grabbed her jacket and put it on.
With (Your Name)’s help with her holding the sand compactor against the tent, Paul managed to crawl out of the sand dune. As he did, he saw the small mouse creature that he learned from his recording on Arrakis. It scampered away with a soft squeak.
“(Your Name) won't be happy about that.” He joked to himself, remembering when she asked if she could have one.

Author's Note: I recently figured out how to do the 'read more' mechanic. I knew what it was, but I didn't know how to do it until I realized it was an option when you wanted to add links, GIFs, etc., lol I've already added it to the previous chapters, so I'll add 'read more' to the future chapters of the story. I even added them to my Wonka story! Read that if you want another story with a Timothée Chalamet character x reader plot.
Hope you enjoy the chapter! ♥️

Chapter 8: Reunion
Tumblr media
〰️
Paul's eyes slowly opened, coming out of his unconscious state. He took in his surroundings, seeing he was in a ship with the enemy.
Jessica was tied up to a chair, gagged.
“We will drop them in the desert and leave them to the worms.” A bald guy spoke in his language, the filthy Harkonnens that captured them.
Paul took notice of something else. (Your Name) wasn't on the ship as well.
‘Where is he? Is he alright? Is he alive?’ Many questions went through his head about his childhood best friend's whereabouts and wellbeing.
Paul directed his attention back to his mother, seeing her sign something, “The scarred one is deaf.”
The Ornithopter they were in started flying, the lights inside turning green. After some time, one of the Harkonnens spoke, “I've never had a high born. You?”
“Bene Gesserit ain't no high born.” Another one replied.
“She is high born enough for me.”
“Let's feed the kid to the worms, and give her a long goodbye.” The deaf one joined the conversation, looking at Jessica.
Paul glared at the male, “Don't you dare touch my mother.” He threatened in a low, dark voice.
At Paul's words, one of the Harkonnens slapped Paul. “Don't talk.” The deaf one demanded.
Paul looked down, breathing in deeply and saw what her son was trying to do, “No. You're not ready.” She signed to him, shaking her head.
Paul exhaled, “Remove her gag.” He tried to use the Voice, but it came out normal, a grovel like sound. In response to this, the guy got up and hit him in the throat, making him gag. “Shut up.”
“Find the right tone.” Jessica signed, getting worried for Paul's safety.
“We're far enough. Let's throw the boy off.” One of the Harkonnens spoke in their language, moving to open the back of the thropter.
Paul closed his eyes, moving his head down, and flexed his jaw, concentrating hard.
The same Harkonnen came up to him, pushing harshly against his seat and Paul looked up suddenly,
“Remove her gag.”
He commanded using the Voice, his tone dark, raspy, and spine-chilling. Not like his normal voice at all.
The Harkonnen obeyed and, in a trance, went over to Jessica and removed the gag.
Her eyes stared into the Harkonnen before she spoke, using the Voice on him too,
“Kill him.” She gestured to the scarred Harkonnen, her voice sounding a bit more threatening than Paul's.
The male did as he was told, walking up to him and slit his throat.
“Set us free.” Jessica ordered again, the glare on her face still present.
The Harkonnen did as he was told and started to cut the rope around Paul's ankles. Though the other Harkonnen comes from the front of the ship, putting a hand over Jessica's mouth.
Resisting, Jessica bit into the hand, making him groan out in pain. He was about to stab Jessica, but she acted faster, “Stop! Cut the rope.” She used the Voice again. He obeyed, setting her free.
“Give me the knife.” He did so, and Jessica stabbed the Harkonnen in the neck, killing instantly.
She got up from her chair, walked over and grabbed the last Harkonnen by the neck, slitting his throat. She went over to her son and helped him out of the rest of his bindings.
“Your pitch was too forced.” Jessica scolded.
The two looked around for supplies. Paul found something familiar. “It's a Fremkit.”
Then, they suddenly heard voices come out of the radio in the Ornithopter. They paused their search to listen. But then, the lights turned red, and the engine shut off.
“They've crippled the ship.”
The mother and son walked out on the ramp, fremkit on Paul's back, they ran across the sand.
Once they reach the top of a sand dune, they froze where they were. Arrakis had fallen. Smoke, fire, and destruction everywhere.
They looked out in silent shock.
Suddenly, they heard something. Footsteps. On alert, they looked around. Then, a voice rang out.
“Paul?! Lady Jessica?!”
Paul felt his heart beat faster with relief and excitement. “(Your Name).” He whispered.
Just as he said the name, (Your Name) came into view, running towards the sand dune Jessica and Paul were standing on.
(Your Name) saw them and felt tears well up in his eyes with happiness. He ran faster and climbed up the sand dune. Paul couldn't contain his relief, and he wrapped his arms around the boy tightly, burying his face into the crook of his neck.
“I thought I lost you.” He whimpered into his neck.
(Your Name) rubbed Paul's back up and down. “No way. Takes a lot more than this to keep me down. I wouldn't have stopped until I found you again.” He whispered to him.
Paul pulled away and pressed his forehead to the boy's. “Oh, (Your Name).” He sighed, looking into his sapphire blue eyes with his hazel green eyes, making the biggest heart eyes at his proclamation.
Lady Jessica watched the childhood best friends reunite, a small smile on her face.
(Your Name) turned to look at Lady Jessica before smiling at the older woman. “I'm relieved you're alright too.” He told her.
“The same goes for you, (Your Name).”
Paul then took in (Your Name)’s appearance. “What's with the outfit?” He asked. Jessica took this chance to look at the boy's clothes, too, and her eyes widened in realization.
(Your Name) scratched the back of his neck shyly. He awkwardly laughed. “About that…”
Just then, they all heard something. Then, purplish black smoke appeared and disappeared, in its place, was the Heartless, along with some new Heartless that were dressed in desert attire.

(Your Name) gasped and jumped in front of the two, his Keyblade out.
“The Heartless! Stay back, I'll take care of this.”
Paul stood there in confusion and surprise at the weapon (Your Name) was holding. He felt Jessica grab his arms and pull him away from (Your Name).
“What's going on?” He asked, eyes still on his childhood best friend, who had started fighting the monsters.
“He has unlocked his power.” Jessica muttered.
“This is the Haris Aldaw’s power?”
“Yes. But, he is capable of much more than what he is showing. His powers are… otherworldly.”
Just then, a Heartless snuck up behind the mother and son and tried to strike them. The two gasped and backed away.
(Your Name) saw this and pointed his Keyblade at the Heartless. “Freeze!”
The Heartless was now frozen in place. With it immobilized, (Your Name) slashed at it, destroying it.
The mother and son watched in amazement as (Your Name) fought the Heartless, slashing and hitting, casting Blizzard spells at them until they disappeared, watching the pink crystal hearts float up into the air.
There were moments when the Heartless tried to attack them and (Your Name) would come to their rescue and protect them.
Eventually the last Heartless was defeated.
((Music ends here))
(Your Name) made his Keyblade disappear, and he looked at Paul and Jessica, who looked at him in shock.
“Unreal, huh?” The boy muttered.
“That was incredible.” Paul whispered, walking to the boy. “Are you alright?” He asked, placing a hand on (Your Name)'s shoulder.
“I'm alright, Paul. How about you two?” He asked the son and mother.
They affirmed they were alright. Paul looked around, then out where the destruction laid. “Let's go.” He said, starting to walk away. Jessica took one more look out there before following Paul.
(Your Name) looked out towards the destruction with a frown. He bit his bottom lip to keep himself from crying. He took one more look before turning away and jogging to catch up with Paul and Jessica.
The three of them now were wandering the Arrakis desert.
Jessica on the left side of (Your Name) and Paul on the right. His left hand held his tightly as they walked along the sand dunes, away from what was once their home.

Chapter 7: Attack on the Atreides
Tumblr media
〰️
(Your Name) woke up slowly with a groan. He looked around the dark room with squinted eyes. It was too dark to really see, but he could see Paul, who now was rolled off of him and sleeping on his side, but he had an arm laid across on top of (Your Name)'s hips. The blue-eyed boy smiled at the sleeping boy.
He saw Paul squirming in his sleep all of a sudden, his breathing increasing. He looked like he was having a nightmare. Acting on instinct whenever Paul had a nightmare, he stroked his curly hair and placed soft kisses on the side of his face.
Paul sighed softly and his squirming ceased, his breathing slowed down. He was calm now. (Your Name) smiled softly.
Then, he felt the branding pain he felt earlier that day when he comforted Paul about his vision. He let out a soft groan. He carefully moved Paul's arm off his hips and put in a comfortable position close to his body, careful not to wake him.
He got out of bed to go to the bathroom to check out the pain. As he walked through the dark hallways, he heard someone else walking around. Curious, he followed the footsteps quietly, walking on the balls of his feet.
A whirring sound echoed throughout, and he felt a slight pain in his chest now. He quickened the pace a little. He got there and saw a terrifying sight.
Duke Leto, the man he saw as his father, the one who wanted him and Paul together, was on the ground, paralyzed from a hunter-seeker. The servant who was always walking around was dead with a knife rammed into her chest.
(Your Name) covered his mouth with his hand, suppressing a scream. He pressed his back against the wall. He watched Dr. Yueh, come out of the darkness.
‘Was it him? Is he the one that did this?’ He thought to himself.
He slowly backed away, keeping an eye on his surroundings, to make sure there were no other hunter-seekers around. He couldn't believe what he had just witnessed. Was this all a trap from the beginning?
He made it back to Paul's room, and he fell onto his knees. What was going on? Was this an assassination attempt? So many questions ran through his mind. He stood up slowly.
‘What do I do? What do I do?’ He thought to himself.
Then he remembered. He had an idea now. He inhaled and exhaled softly before raising his arm up and flexing his hand out. In that instant, to his surprise, the Keyblade appeared in his hand.
He wondered if what he experienced in the Arrakis desert yesterday was real. If he could summon the Keyblade, it had to be real.
He grabbed the hilt of the Keyblade with both hands and pointed it to a small table. A soft light appeared at the teeth part of the blade, and magically, clothes appeared on the tabletop. He examined them and recognized them as the same unusual clothes he wore when he fought the Heartless.
‘Every Keyblade wielder has their own outfit, I guess.’ He thought to himself.
(Your Name) quickly changed out of his sleepwear and slipped on the new outfit. Just as he finished, he could hear loud banging sounds and explosives coming from outside.
The (hair color) haired boy looked at the still sleeping Paul. He quietly walked over to him and kissed his forehead.
“I'll be back. I'll protect you from whatever is out there.” He whispered.
Paul didn't respond; he expected that. As he went to leave, he saw the tray where Paul's medicine was. Then he thought back to Dr. Yueh. His eyes widened.
It was all planned.
He left Paul's room and jogged through the hallways. The sounds of yelling, explosives, and fighting outside filling the air.
Then, suddenly, dark smoke appeared out of nowhere and it quickly disappeared, the Heartless taking its place. (Your Name) summoned his Keyblade and fought off the monsters.
As he ran and avoided different hallways to not get caught by the intruders, he fought off the Heartless, slowly gaining more experience using his weapon.
Eventually, he came full circle and was in a familiar part of the castle now. Then, he heard footsteps. Panicking, he pointed his Keyblade at the person, ready to fight if necessary. Until he saw who it was.
“Whoa, easy there, my boy.”
“Duncan.” The boy whispered. He sighed in relief. “I thought you were an intruder.”
“I thought you were too. I was doing some rounds when I heard the commotion.” Then he looked at the boy more closely. “What's with the outfit? And what's with that sword?” Duncan asked, a confused look on his face.
(Your Name) looked at his clothes and the Keyblade in his hand. “Uhhh… well… to explain that….”
The boy went on to explain everything that happened to Duncan. He's the Haris Aldaw’, his incident on Arrakis, the Bene Gesserit test, the dreams he has been having.
Duncan looked at him in absolute confusion when he finished. “Lord, this is all confusing.” He let out an exasperated groan.
“Tell me about it. And that's not the weirdest thing.”
“What is it?”
“Whenever I talk about dreams and when Paul had a nightmare, I felt a searing pain on my back. Like something was branding me. I may be asking for a lot… but… can you check it?” He slipped his jacket off and turned his back to Duncan.
Duncan pulled his shirt up to show his back. His eyes widened at what he saw. It was a graffiti heart symbol of some sorts on the boy's back.
“What is it?” (Your Name) asked.
“Uhhhh…. how do I explain this? There's a-”
Before he could tell him, footsteps echoed throughout the hallway.
Duncan pulled (Your Name)'s shirt down and pulled a weapon. “We have company.” He murmured.
The blue-eyed boy slipped his jacket back on as a soldier with unusual armor came out. It was reminiscent of the Sardaukar armor.
Then, the Heartless materialized as the soldier got ready to attack.
“That's the Heartless?” Duncan asked, getting into a fighting stance.
“Yep. Let's clear this place out.”
The two fought off the intruders. Duncan killed the Sardaukar, and (Your Name) destroyed the Heartless. As the boy did, he noticed that after he killed them, a pink crystal shaped like a heart would rise up into the air.
‘The Hearts of people overtaken by the darkness.’ He thought to himself, remembering what they were from his dreams.
Once the threat was eliminated, the two ran through the hallways. Duncan mentioned he was going to check on Paul. (Your Name) remembered he was in his room. He also stated that the Duke was attacked by a hunter-seeker and is immobilized, and they should check on Lady Jessica. They ran there, and to their dismay, the rooms were empty, and the beds were in disarray.
“Oh no.” (Your Name) muttered.
The boy swallowed, everything connecting now. “This was all a trap. Everything.” He whispered.
Duncan placed a hand on his shoulder. “We'll find them (Your Name).”
He nodded, and the pair ran outside, and they got their first look at what happened.
It was a warzone out there. Fire and smoke surrounded the area, the smoke so thick it nearly covered the dark sky. The Sardaukar prowled the area, capturing and killing anyone who opposed them. The Harkonnens walked around the grounds, commanding the Sardaukar and killing anyone on the opposing side.
“Oh my God.” (Your Name) whispered.
Duncan looked around, “We need an Ornithopter.”
The pair walked carefully through the warzone, occasionally army crawling on the sand to hide from the enemy.
They find an Ornithopter, being guarded by some of the Harkonnens. Duncan motioned (Your Name) to stay put as he took out a few of them and scared them with a threatening yell. He gets to the Ornithopter, but out of nowhere, some Heartless materialized.
At that instant, (Your Name) summoned his Keyblade and fought them as Duncan worked the Ornithopter.
As he fought, he let out a few growls of anger. He was upset. Upset that they were attacked. That this was all a trap. That the Duke was now probably dead. How everyone he knew could be dead. Lady Jessica was gone. But what made him even more mad was that Paul was taken from him.
He breathed in and out after the last Heartless was defeated.
“(Your Name)! Get on!” Duncan yelled.
The boy nodded with a hum and got into the Ornithopter. Duncan started it, and the Ornithopter took off into the air. Duncan used it to shoot at opposing machines and avoid the laser that shot out of one of the ships that nearly sliced them in half.
(Your Name) held on as Duncan flew out of the base and out into the desert.
〰️
They flew over the Arrakis desert, the smoke clearing out the further they got from the disaster. It was silent in the Ornithopter. (Your Name) looked out the window, a frown on his face.
“How could they do this?” He heard Duncan growl in anger. “Someone betrayed us.”
(Your Name) looked at Duncan. “I know who did.” He whispered. Duncan turned to look at the boy. “It was Dr. Yueh. I'm not sure why… but I got a glimpse of his face. He had a troubled expression on. Maybe he had no choice. But… he still did it.” He explained softly.
Duncan sighed heavily, trying not to get more angry than he already was. He gave the boy a nod before he reverted his focus back on piloting.
The blue-eyed boy crossed his arms over his chest, tilting his head back as he thought about everything that had just transpired.
They were betrayed and attacked, and most of them were killed by the Harkonnens and the Sardaukar. Paul and Lady Jessica have been kidnapped, and the man who she saw as his father, the man who accepted him for who he is, was now probably dead.
He didn't want to lose Lady Jessica and Paul.
He won't let that happen.
“Duncan. Let me off.”
Duncan looked at the boy. “Let you off? Why?”
“I can find them. Plus, if they escape… they might bump into the Heartless. They'll die if I don't get to them before they do.”
(Your Name) frowned, giving him a sad but determined look. “Please, Duncan.”
Duncan sighed. “All right.”
At his words, (Your Name) unbuckled himself and opened the back of the thropter with a switch.
“You're going to jump out?!”
He looked at Duncan. “Yeah. I'll be fine. If I can jump twenty feet in the air, then I can handle this.”
Duncan was apprehensive, but he trusted him. “Okay.” His look of concern turned into one of determination. “Find Paul.” (Your Name) said, determined,
“I will.”
He jogged across the ramp and jumped off.
(Your Name) felt the air hit his face as he fell. But he wasn't afraid. His determination clouded his thoughts of possibly dying or severely injuring himself.
As he got closer to the ground, he readied himself to land. His body turned forward a bit, and he moved his arms to be in front of him. He forward rolled once he was close to the ground. After he rolled, he landed on his behind, legs spread and stretched in front of him.
The boy sighed and leaned back on his hands. “Need to work on that.” He told himself.
He stood up and looked around before choosing a way and running across the sand, ready to save Lady Jessica and Paul.

Chapter 7: Attack on the Atreides
Tumblr media
〰️
(Your Name) woke up slowly with a groan. She looked around the dark room with squinted eyes. It was too dark to really see, but she could see Paul, who now was rolled off of her and sleeping on his side, but he had an arm laid across on top of her hips. The girl smiled at the sleeping boy.
She saw him squirming in his sleep all of a sudden, his breathing increasing. He looked like he was having a nightmare. Acting on instinct whenever Paul had a nightmare, she stroked his curly hair and placed soft kisses on the side of his face.
Paul sighed softly, and his squirming ceased, his breathing slowed down. He was calm now. (Your Name) smiled softly.
Then, she felt the branding pain she felt earlier that day when she comforted Paul about his vision. She let out a soft groan. She carefully moved Paul's arm off her hips and put in a comfortable position close to his body, careful not to wake him.
She got out of bed to go to the bathroom to check out the pain. As she walked through the dark hallways, she heard someone else walking around. Curious, she followed the footsteps quietly, walking on the balls of her feet.
A whirring sound echoed throughout the hallway, and she felt a slight pain in her chest now. She quickened the pace a little. She got there and saw a terrifying sight.
Duke Leto, the man she saw as her father, was on the ground, paralyzed from a hunter-seeker. And the servant that was always walking around, was dead with a knife rammed into her chest.
She covered her mouth with her hand, suppressing a scream. She pressed her back against the wall. She watched Dr. Yueh, come out of the darkness.
‘Was it him? Is he the one that did this?’ She thought to herself.
She slowly backed away, keeping an eye on her surroundings, to make sure there were no other hunter-seekers around. She couldn't believe what she just witnessed. Was this all a trap from the beginning?
She made it back to Paul's room, and she fell onto her knees. What was going on? Was this an assassination attempt? So many questions ran through her mind. She stood up slowly.
‘What do I do? What do I do?’ She thought to herself.
Then she remembered. She had an idea now. She inhaled and exhaled softly before raising her arm up and flexing her hand out. In that instant, to her surprise, the Keyblade appeared in her hand.
She wondered if what she experienced in the Arrakis desert yesterday was real. If she could summon the Keyblade, it had to be real.
She grabbed the hilt of the Keyblade with both hands and pointed it to a small table. A soft light appeared at the teeth part of the blade, and magically, clothes appeared on the tabletop. She examined them and recognized them as the same unusual clothes she wore when she fought the Heartless.
‘Every Keyblade wielder has their own outfit, I guess.’ She thought to herself.
(Your Name) quickly changed out of her sleepwear and slipped on the new outfit. Just as she finished, she could hear loud banging sounds and explosives coming from outside.
The (hair color) haired girl looked at the still sleeping Paul. She quietly walked over to him and kissed his forehead.
“I'll be back. I'll protect you from whatever is out there.” She whispered.
Paul didn't respond; she expected that. As she went to leave, she saw the tray where Paul's medicine was. Then she thought back to Dr. Yueh. Her eyes widened.
It was all planned.
She left Paul's room and jogged through the hallways. The sounds of yelling, explosives, and fighting outside filling the air.
Then, suddenly, dark smoke appeared out of nowhere and it quickly disappeared, the Heartless taking its place. (Your Name) summoned her Keyblade and fought off the monsters.
As she ran and avoided different hallways to not get caught by the intruders, she fought off the Heartless, slowly gaining more experience using her weapon.
Eventually, she came full circle and was in a familiar part of the castle now. Then, she heard footsteps. Panicking, she pointed her Keyblade at the person, ready to fight if necessary. Until she saw who it was.
“Whoa, easy there, my girl.”
“Duncan.” The girl whispered. She sighed in relief. “I thought you were an intruder.”
“I thought you were too. I was doing some rounds when I heard the commotion.” Then he looked at the girl more closely. “What's with the outfit? And what's with that sword?” Duncan asked, a confused look on his face.
(Your Name) looked at her clothes and the Keyblade in her hand. “Uhhh… well… to explain that….”
The girl went on to explain everything that happened to Duncan. She's the Haris Aldaw’, her incident on Arrakis, the Bene Gesserit test, the dreams she has been having.
Duncan looked at her in absolute confusion when she finished. “Lord, this is all confusing.” He let out an exasperated groan.
“Tell me about it. And that's not the weirdest thing.”
“What is it?”
“Whenever I talk about dreams and when Paul had a nightmare, I felt a searing pain on my back. Like something was branding me. I may be asking for a lot… but… can you check it?” She slipped her jacket off and turned her back to Duncan.
Duncan pulled her shirt up to show her back. His eyes widened at what he saw. It was a graffiti heart symbol of some sorts on her back.
“What is it?” (Your Name) asked.
“Uhhhh…. how do I explain this? There's a-”
Before he could tell her, footsteps echoed throughout the hallway.
Duncan pulled her shirt down and pulled a weapon. “We have company.” He murmured.

Chapter 6: Visions and Promises
Tumblr media
〰️
Paul walked out of the Ornithopter at a fast pace once they landed back home, holding (Your Name) up and helping him walk.
The Duke jumped out of the thropter pilot seat, eyes widening slightly seeing (Your Name) looking exhausted and about to collapse. “What happened? Is he alright?” He asked, worried about the boy.
Paul looked at his father, unshed tears in his eyes, then back down to the (hair color) haired boy, “I hope so…” He muttered in a hoarse voice.
(Your Name) groaned softly and moved his head off of Paul's shoulder. “I'm… I'm alright.” He muttered.
The Duke sighed heavily, “You cannot take such risks, Paul.”
“Yes, sir.” Paul responded, head casted downwards as he looked over at his childhood best friend who was slowly trying to regain his strength.
“You both have responsibilities.” Duke gestured to the pair.
“I'm sorry, sir. It won't happen again.” Paul rambled.
“Go now. Get yourself checked out. I have to talk (Your Name).”
Paul was hesitant to leave his best friend but listened to his father's words and jogged off.
Now, it was just (Your Name) standing before the Duke. As he regained himself, he realized his mistake, and he looked down.
“I'm so sorry, Sir. I failed to keep Paul safe, and it could've cost his life. I'm sorry, I- I'm so sorry-” He rambled.
The Duke cut him off. “Hey, calm down. Things have smoothed themselves out.” His voice was gentle as he comforted the panicked boy. He placed his hands on the boy's shoulders.
“You managed to get to him in time, along with Gurney. You did good.” He praised.
(Your Name) sniffled, nodding his head.
“But I need to know. What happened out there?”
The boy sighed. “I honestly don't know. One moment, Paul and I were together, then a sandstorm struck, and we were separated. Then, the area turned dark… this orb appeared in the sky and…. those shadow demons appeared.”
The Duke's eyes widened at the news. “You saw the shadow demons?” The boy nodded. “What did they look like? Did they hurt you?”
(Your Name) described the demons, telling him they are called Heartless, and he was able to fight them. When the Duke asked how, he told him everything.
“Then… the voice said… Haris Aldaw’. That I'm a new… keyblade wielder.”
Leto couldn't believe this. This boy was the Haris Aldaw’. Guardian of Light. A keyblade wielder.
The boy looked down, seemingly still upset about what happened. The Duke looked at him, an empathic look on his face.
“Everything will be alright. I can promise you that. But I need you to be strong. Protect my son from danger. I can't lose him…” He paused and gave him a gentle smile. “Or my future son-in-law.”
(Your Name) gasped softly. 'How did he know about my crush on Paul? Does anyone else know? And... he's... supportive of it?' He thought to himself.
He smiled widely at the Duke, feeling tears of joy well up in his eyes, and wrapped his arms around the man.
The Duke chuckled softly and hugged him back, patting his back.
“Now, go on and get checked out.”
The boy nodded and jogged off to where Paul last went. Duke Leto watched, a gentle smile on his face.
〰️
(Your Name) looked around, trying to find his childhood best friend. He looked in every possible room.
He eventually got to his and Paul's shared room, and he entered slowly. There, he saw Paul with Lady Jessica and Dr. Yueh. Everyone looked at him. The boy looked at Paul in worry.
“Is he alright?” He asked.
“He's fine, Master (Your Name). It's just an allergic reaction to the spice.” Dr. Yueh told the boy.
He sighed in relief. “Thank you.”
Dr. Yueh left the room. Once he was gone, (Your Name) went over to Paul, cupping his face in his hands. He wanted nothing more than to kiss him nonstop.
Paul held the worried boy's wrists in his hands. Lady Jessica came over to the pair, kneeling next to (Your Name).
“It wasn't an allergic reaction. I had a vision. My eyes were wide open.” Paul spoke in a low voice, keeping his eyes away from them.
"What did you see?” Jessica asked.
Paul slowly looked up at the two, his hazel green eyes instantly meeting (Your Name)’s concerned blue eyes. His heart was thumping hard in his chest, remembering the vision.
Inside the vision, (Your Name) was leading Paul down into a mountain, both of them wearing stillsuits.
The two faced each other, (Your Name) getting closer to his face and reached up to place a gloved hand on his cheek, caressing it gently.
He rubbed his thumb over Paul's lightly dusted cheek, the pair getting even closer to each other. They were so close that they could feel each other's breaths against their faces. (Your Name) placed his other hand on Paul's cheek, and now he was cupping his face. Their eyes met, and they mirrored each other's expression. They were in love.
Paul nudged his nose against his, making the boy smile softly. Paul tilted his head a little to get a better angle and started to close the gap between them. His lips parted a little, and his lips caressed (Your Name)’s.
Tumblr media
Though, before the couple could actually kiss, someone came up behind Paul and stabbed him. It was the same girl he saw in his dream with (Your Name).
Paul fell against (Your Name), lifting his hand up. He saw blood on it. His blood. The girl handed (Your Name) the blade who took it, watching Paul bleed with no emotion.
“It's confusing. I thought I saw my death, only it wasn't. I know a knife is important somehow. Someone will hand me a blade. But I don't know who or when or where. Some things are crystal clear. I can feel it.” Paul explained to the two, then glanced at his mother. “I know you're pregnant.” The male smiled softly at his mother.
(Your Name) looked at Lady Jessica with surprise but it melted into a soft smile, mirroring Paul's.
“You can't know that. I I barely know that and it's only been a few weeks.” Jessica breathed out in surprise, staring at her son like she saw a ghost.
〰️
Jessica eventually left the room where (Your Name) and Paul were, and now an uncomfortable silence was between the two best friends.
(Your Name) sighed to himself, grabbing Paul's hands in his, giving them a gentle squeeze, “I can tell you want to say something.” He whispered.
Paul's hazel green eyes looked at the boy. “In my vision…” He took a deep breath and released it shakily, his voice shaky like he was on the verge of crying, “When I got stabbed…. you didn't say anything… didn't react… you just stared blank faced.”
The blue-eyed boy frowned softly, squeezing his hands again, then stood up and sat on his lap, his legs straddling Paul's thighs. In response, Paul's warm hands gently held (Your Name)'s hips, rubbing his hip bones with his thumbs. (Your Name) suppressed a shiver as he looked Paul in his eyes.
“That was a vision, Paul,” He spoke softly, seeing Paul's lips quiver, “You know how much I care about you. Whatever you saw in the vision won't happen.” He brushed some of Paul’s curly locks out of his face, “I won't let anything happen to you. Even in your dreams. I'll protect you. I'll be what the nightmares fear.”
When he mentioned dreams, he swore he felt a slight pain in his back. Like something was branding his back, but he ignored the pain, wanting to focus more on comforting Paul.
Paul chuckled wetly at (Your Name)'s proclamation before his body shuddered as he suppressed a small sob. His hands gripped the boy's hips tighter. “I almost lost you today…” His voice was hoarse, then in a desperate whisper. “I can't lose you (Your Name)... I can't.”
(Your Name) shook his head, frowning a little. “I'm alright… I'm right here…” He whispered. He used his left hand to move Paul's right hand off his hip and placed it on his chest, where her heart was. “See? Can you feel it? My heart beat. I'm right here.”
Paul sniffled a bit, feeling his nerves settle at the feeling of his friend's heartbeat.
The blue-eyed boy moved his right hand to Paul's cheek, cupping it in his palm and caressing it with his thumb. He watched Paul lean into the touch.
“If a war is coming, we'll face it together. We'll face our fears. I won't let anything happen to you. And I won't let them take me away from you. I promise.” (Your Name) declared, sealing the promise with a kiss on Paul's forehead.
Paul closed his eyes, humming at the feeling of (Your Name)'s lips on his forehead. He turned his head, pressing a kiss onto the boy's palm. “I promise to protect you too. No one will have us… as long as we're together.” He whispered into his hand.
(Your Name) nodded, pressing his forehead to Paul's, making him tremble a little.
Paul's lidded eyes stared at (Your Name) with their foreheads still together. The blue-eyed boy could feel Paul's breath against his cheeks when he stared back into his beautiful hazel green eyes. Paul gave him a half smile, one that was enough to make his heart beat faster; and Paul felt it.
Tumblr media
〰️
It was now nighttime, and (Your Name) was in Paul's room with him after he asked to stay with him. Paul immediately agreed. He saw him leant on a little table in his room, in deep thought. The boy decided not to disturb Paul, especially after what had happened and what he told him.
The door to his room suddenly opened; it was Dr. Yueh. He walked in with a tiny tray and placed it on a table; it contained medicine and water. “Have a good night Master Paul, and (Your Name).” He told the two.
“Good night, Dr. Yueh.” The pair spoke softly and in sync as the doctor left the room.
(Your Name) laid down on the bed, looking at his hand from the side. He wondered if he could summon the keyblade any time like the others before him could.
“(Your Name)...” Paul whispered hoarsely.
Said boy turned to look and yelped when he saw Paul was on top of him. “Uhhh…. Paul?”
Paul just looked into his eyes, hazel green meeting sapphire blue. He let his body fall on top of his, making the other boy underneath him gasp in surprise. Paul nuzzled his face into the crook of (Your Name)'s neck, wrapping his arms around his waist.
(Your Name) blinked in confusion at the sudden affection, but he wasn't complaining. He returned the cuddle and wrapped his arms around Paul, rubbing his back up and down.
Then, he felt Paul's lips caressing the skin on his neck. Before he knew it, Paul started to press soft, wet kisses on his neck, going up and down.
The boy trembled, and he couldn't help the sigh that escaped his lips as he did. He gripped Paul's shirt.
“Paul… what are you doing?” He breathed out, a hitched gasp escaping his lips when Paul kissed a sensitive spot.
Paul mumbled something against his skin, but (Your Name) didn't hear it, and he continued his kisses on him, moving down to his collarbone.
(Your Name) sighed in content at the feeling of him doing this, still rubbing his back up and down.
Then he moved his kisses down towards his chest. He gasped softly as he felt Paul kiss his chest through his shirt. He trembled at the feeling, letting out soft, shaky whines. He moved his hands into Paul's hair, carding his fingers through the curls, making him hum against his chest.
Paul then suddenly pulled away a little. He slipped his hands underneath (Your Name)'s shirt, slowly sliding the shirt up to reveal his stomach and chest. (Your Name) gasped softly at this action but didn't do anything to stop Paul.
Once his torso was exposed, Paul leaned down and started to kiss his chest again. This time, (Your Name) felt Paul's warm, soft lips caress his skin, and he couldn't stop the soft whines that escaped his lips. He started to card his fingers through Paul's curls again.
"Paul....."
The curly haired boy hummed against the boy's chest as he continued the soft and intimate action.
The blue-eyed boy sighed as Paul continued, pressing gentle kisses against his chest and occasionally going down to kiss his stomach; enjoying the moment while it lasted.
The kisses on his chest and stomach soon stopped, making the boy look down to see Paul asleep, his head laying on the boy's chest, where his heart was.
He smiled softly at this, leaning down and pressing a kiss onto his forehead, making Paul hum in his sleep.
He continued staring at Paul's beautiful sleeping after, his heart fluttering. He had never felt this type of love before. He may need to learn more about love, but he knows how to share his heart with others. But this felt so different. This felt more powerful, more powerful than he felt with his mentors, his surrogate parents, and sibling love. This one felt like… a love that he would share with only one person. It was a feeling he only felt around Paul.
After a little while of stroking Paul's curly hair, his arms wrapped around his friend's waist, his legs spread with Paul laying in between them, (Your Name) fell into a peaceful sleep with Paul.
Not knowing that a war was coming.

The Duke's eyes widened at the news. “You saw the shadow demons?” The girl nodded. “What did they look like? Did they hurt you?”
(Your Name) described the demons, telling him they are called Heartless, and she was able to fight them. When the Duke asked how, she told him everything.
“Then… the voice said… Haris Aldaw’. That I'm a new… keyblade wielder.”
Leto couldn't believe this. This girl was the Haris Aldaw’. Guardian of Light. A keyblade wielder.
The girl looked down, seemingly still upset about what happened. The Duke looked at her, an empathic look on his face.
“Everything will be alright. I can promise you that. But I need you to be strong. Protect my son from danger. I can't lose him…” He paused and gave her a gentle smile. “Or my future daughter-in-law.”
(Your Name) gasped softly. She smiled widely at the Duke, and wrapped her arms around the man.
The Duke chuckled softly and hugged her back, patting her back.
“Now, go on and get checked out.”
The girl nodded and jogged off to where Paul last went. Duke Leto watched, a gentle smile on his face.
〰️
(Your Name) looked around, trying to find her childhood best friend. She looked in every possible room.
She eventually got to her and Paul's shared room, and she entered slowly. There, she saw Paul with Lady Jessica and Dr. Yueh. Everyone looked at her. The girl looked at Paul in worry.
“Is he alright?” She asked.
“He's fine, Lady (Your Name). Just an allergic reaction to the spice.” Dr. Yueh told the girl.
She sighed in relief. “Thank you.”
Dr. Yueh left the room. Once he was gone, (Your Name) went over to Paul, cupping his face in her hands. She wanted nothing more than to kiss him nonstop.
Paul held the worried girl's wrists in his hands.
She rubbed her thumb over his lightly dusted cheek, the pair getting even closer to each other. They were so close that they could feel each other's breaths against their faces. (Your Name) placed her other hand on Paul's cheek, now she was cupping his face. Their eyes met, and they mirrored each other's expression. They were in love.
Paul nudged his nose against hers, making the girl smile softly. He tilted his head a little to get a better angle and started to close the gap between them. His lips parted a little, and his lips caressed (Your Name)’s.
Tumblr media
Though, before the couple could actually kiss, someone came up behind Paul and stabbed him. It was the same girl he saw in his dream with (Your Name).
Paul fell against (Your Name), lifting his hand up and saw blood on it.
(Your Name) looked at Lady Jessica with surprise, but it melted into a soft smile, mirroring Paul's.
“You can't know that. I barely know that, and it's only been a few weeks.” Jessica breathed out in surprise, staring at her son like she saw a ghost.
〰️
Jessica eventually left the room where (Your Name) and Paul were, and now an uncomfortable silence was between the two best friends.
(Your Name) sighed to herself, grabbing Paul's hands in hers, giving them a gentle squeeze, “I can tell you want to say something.” She whispered.
Paul's hazel green eyes looked at the girl. “In my vision…” He took a deep breath and released it shakily, his voice shaky like he was on the verge of crying, “When I got stabbed…. you didn't say anything… didn't react… you just stared blank faced.”
The girl frowned softly, squeezing his hands again, then stood up and sat on his lap, her legs straddling his thighs. In response, Paul's warm hands gently held her hips, rubbing her hip bones with his thumbs. (Your Name) suppressed a shiver as she looked Paul in his eyes.
“That was a vision, Paul,” She spoke softly, seeing his lips quiver, “You know how much I care about you. Whatever you saw in the vision won't happen.” She brushed some of his curly locks out of his face, “I won't let anything happen to you. Even in your dreams. I'll protect you. I'll be what the nightmares fear.”
When she mentioned dreams, she swore she felt a slight pain in her back. Like something was branding her back, but she ignored the pain, wanting to focus more on comforting Paul.
Paul chuckled wetly at her proclamation before his body shuddered as he suppressed a small sob. His hands gripped her hips tighter. “I almost lost you today…” His voice was hoarse, then, in a desperate whisper, “I can't lose you (Your Name)... I can't.”
She shook her head, flowing a little. “I'm alright… I'm right here…” She whispered. She used her left hand to move Paul's right hand off her hip and placed it on her chest, where her heart was. “See? Can you feel it? My heart beat. I'm right here.”
Paul sniffled a bit, feeling his nerves settle at the feeling of his friend's heartbeat.
The blue-eyed girl moved her right hand to Paul's cheek, cupping it in her palm and caressing it with her thumb. She watched Paul lean into the touch.
“If a war is coming, we'll face it together. We'll face our fears. I won't let anything happen to you. And I won't let them take me away from you. I promise.” (Your Name) declared, sealing the promise with a kiss on Paul's forehead.
Paul closed his eyes, humming at the feeling of her lips on his forehead. He turned his head, pressing a kiss onto her palm. “I promise to protect you too. No one will have us… as long as we're together.” He whispered into her hand.
(Your Name) nodded, pressing her forehead to Paul's, making him tremble a little.
Paul's lidded eyes stared at (Your Name) with their forehead still together. The blue-eyed girl could feel his breath against her cheeks when she stared back into his beautiful hazel green eyes. He gave her a half smile, one that was enough to make her heart beat faster; and Paul felt it.

〰️
It was now nighttime and (Your Name) was in Paul's room with him, after she asked to stay with him. Paul immediately agreed. She saw him leant on a little table in his room, in deep thought. The girl decided not to disturb, especially after what had happened and what he told her.
The door to his room suddenly opened; it was Dr. Yueh. He walked in with a tiny tray and placed it on a table; it contained medicine and water. “Have a good night Master Paul, Lady (Your Name).” He told the two.
“Good night, Dr. Yueh.” The pair spoke softly and in sync as the doctor left the room.
(Your Name) laid down on the bed, looking at her hand from the side. She wondered if she could summon the keyblade any time like the others before her could.
“(Your Name)...” Paul whispered hoarsely.
Said girl turned to look and yelped when she saw Paul was on top of her. “Uhhh…. Paul?”
Paul just looked into her eyes, hazel green meeting sapphire blue. He let his body fall on top of hers, making the girl underneath him gasp in surprise. He nuzzled his face into the crook of her neck, wrapping his arms around her waist.
(Your Name) blinked in confusion at the sudden affection, but she wasn't complaining. She returned the cuddle and wrapped her arms around him, rubbing his back up and down.
Then, she felt Paul's lips caressing the skin on her neck. Before she knew it, Paul started to press soft, wet kisses on her neck, going up and down.
The girl trembled, and she couldn't help the sigh that escaped her lips as he did. She gripped Paul's shirt.
“Paul… what are you doing?” She breathed out, a hitched gasp escaping her lips when he kissed a sensitive spot.
Paul mumbled something against her skin, but (Your Name) didn't hear it, and he continued his kisses on her, moving down to her collarbone.
She sighed in content at the feeling of him doing this, still rubbing his back up and down.
Then he moved his kisses down towards her chest. She gasped softly as she felt Paul kiss her breasts through her shirt. She trembled at the feeling, letting out soft, shaky whines. She moved her hands into his hair, carding her fingers through his curls, making him hum against her chest.
The blue-eyed girl sighed as Paul continued, pressing gentle kisses against her clothed chest, enjoying the moment while it lasted.
The kisses on her chest soon stopped, making the girl look down to see Paul asleep, his head laying on her chest, where her heart was.
She smiled softly at this, leaning down and pressing a kiss onto his forehead, making the boy hum in his sleep.
She continued staring at Paul's beautiful sleeping after, her heart fluttering. She had never felt this type of love before. She may need to learn more about love, but she knows how to share her heart with others. But this felt so different. This felt more powerful, more powerful than she felt with her mentors, her surrogate parents, and sibling love. This one felt like… a love that she would share with only one person. It was a feeling she only felt around Paul.
After a little while of stroking Paul's curly hair, his arms wrapped around her waist, her legs spread with Paul laying in between them, (Your Name) fell into a peaceful sleep with Paul.
Not knowing that a war was coming.

Chapter 5: A Reality Come to Life
Tumblr media
〰️
The Ornithopter landed on the ground. (Your Name), and Paul smiled widely as they sprinted towards the aircraft.
“Duncan!” They exclaimed in excitement.
“Ah! My boys!” Duncan exclaimed in just as much excitement. He caught the two young adults in his arms, hugging them. The young adults laughed as Duncan, who was also laughing, lifted them up in the air a little.
“I swear you two are getting taller.” Duncan said once he put them down, arms around their shoulders.
“Well, you smell worse.” Paul fired back as (Your Name) laughed.
Tumblr media
〰️
“For four weeks I’ve lived with the Fremen, hidden in the desert, in the community called the sietch. Stilgar, the leader of that sietch, has come with me to meet you, sir.” Duncan told the Duke.
“The sietch, how is it hidden?” The Duke asked.
“It's underground. Arrakis is filled with caverns.”
“How big was the place?” Paul and (Your Name) asked, small smiles on their faces. They were obviously trying to hide the excitement they felt.
“It's ten thousand people, and there are hundreds of sietches.” Duncan stated proudly.
“Millions of Fremen. You were right.” The Duke said in awe.
“The Harkonnen estimate was fifty thousand on the whole planet.” Thufir stated to the Duke.
“The Fremen watched me search for them for days. I never saw them. Finally, they sent a warrior out to kill me. And I gotta tell you, I've never come so close to dying.” Duncan explained, proud smile still present on his face. “There's no finer fighter in the Imperium. They fight like demons.”
“Desert power.” The Duke breathed.
The Duke walked up to Duncan, clasping his hand in his and patting Duncan's arm with his other hand. “Duncan, well done.”
“Thank you, my lord.”
“Sir, their leader has a knife he won't surrender, sire.” A guard informed the Duke.
“It's a crysknife. It's sacred to his people.” Duncan informed the Duke.
“Let him pass.” Leto ordered, with a wave of his hand.
The door opened and entered a man who was apparently walking a little too fast because Paul immediately pushed (Your Name) behind him, becoming protective of him as usual.
“Stop there. Hey, hey!” A guard yelled, and Stilgar didn't care as he continued walking. The male pulled his hood down when he came even closer to the Duke.
“Stilgar, welcome.” The Duke greeted him. “Sir, I respect the personal dignity of any man that respects mine.”
Stilgar said nothing for some time, and suddenly, he inhaled and spat on the table.
(Your Name) winced at this, taking a step back, while Gurney was about to take out his weapon, presumably to teach the male a lesson about respect. But Duncan spoke up. “Thank you, Stilgar, for the gift of your body's moisture. We accept it in the spirit in which it was given.”
Duncan spat onto the table. The Duke spat on the table a few seconds after Duncan, causing (Your Name) to suppress his laugh by burying his face into the back of Paul's shoulders. Paul bit his bottom lip to try to keep himself from smiling at (Your Name)’s action. It didn't work, and he smiled to himself in amusement.
“I'm glad you've come. I believe your people and mine have much to offer one another.” The Duke spoke.
“You are outworlders, you come here for the spice. You take it, giving nothing in return.” Stilgar finally spoke, his voice gruff. But something Paul only noticed was that Stilgar wasn't looking at (Your Name). In fact, this whole time, he's been looking at everyone except the (hair color) haired boy. Paul brought (Your Name), who was now on the side of him, closer to him, arm around his shoulders protectively.
“That's true.” He spoke up.
“I know you've suffered at the hands of the Harkonnen, not to mention the new sightings of demons.
(Your Name) looked at the group, at the mention of the demons, or as he now knows them, as the Heartless.
“Name what you want. If it's in my power to grant, I'll give it and ask for nothing.” The Duke negotiated.
Stilgar hummed. “I ask for this: do not seek our sietches, do not trespass in our lands. The desert was ours long before you came. So, come and do your spice, but when you have it, go back to this side of the shield wall and leave the desert to the Fremen. And about those demons, leave them to the Haris Aldaw’.”
(Your Name)’s attention was brought to Stilgar when he heard the ‘demons’ mentioned again.
“You will address The Duke as ‘my lord’ or ‘sire’.” Gurney corrected in an angry voice.
“Gurney, just… just a moment,” the Duke paused before speaking again, “The Emperor has given me Arrakis as my fief to rule and protect. I can not promise not to travel into the desert if duty compels me. But your sietches will be yours forever, and you will never be hunted or harmed while I govern here.”
Stilgar thought for a moment, “That's very honorable. I must go. That's all I have to say to you.” He turned to walk away.
“Why don't you stay? We would honor you.” Paul offered, stopping the Freman in his tracks.
“Honor requires that I be elsewhere.” Stilgar replied, turning to see that (Your Name) was standing next to Paul now, pressed into his side.
“I recognize you two.” He spoke to the pair softly, in his language, nodding to the (hair color) haired boy, who looked confused.
“I don't like him.” Gurney commented once Stiglar had left.
“Our plans bear fruit.” Thufir inputted from beside the male.
“But it will take time.” The Duke said.
“Yes. It will take time.”
〰️
(Your Name) sat next to Duncan with Paul sitting on the other side of him. Gurney sat onto the opposite side of where they were sitting.
“Here, this is for you two.” Duncan handed her and Paul something.
Paul opened his. “It's a paracompass.”
(Your Name) opened his and gasped at the sight. It was a crysknife. “How did you get one of these?” He asked, surprised. “These are sacred.”
Duncan shrugged. “A favor.” He replied simply. “Hopefully, you won't have to use it.” He added with a playful smirk.
His smile grew. “Thank you so much.”
Duncan smiled back at him, ruffling his hair. “Of course, kid.”
“The moons here have a magnetic field, so a simple compass needle won't point north. Takes a clever piece of clockwork to sort it out.” He explained Paul's gift.
“Do the Fremen make these?” Paul asked.
“And stillsuits, and sand compactors and all kinds of ingenious things. Including the crysknife (Your Name)’s holding.”
“What the hell is a sand compactor?” Gurney asked.
Duncan handed the older man something the object looked like a big torch. “That's a sand compactor.”
Everyone around laughed, including Paul and (Your Name), who felt his heart flutter when he saw Paul smile that perfect smile. Paul felt the same way when he saw (Your Name) smile.
Gurney smiled in amusement, “My God, man, you've gone native.”
“You admire them.” (Your Name) stated, looking at Duncan, carefully twirling his new crysknife in his hand.
Duncan nodded at the boy, a small smile on his face, “I do. They're fierce and loyal. They remind me of you (Your Name).
The boy laughed to himself at the comment and playfully nudged Duncan's arm with his.
〰️
The next day came surprisingly fast. The sun was high in the nearly white sky, brightening everything around.
(Your Name) was in a stillsuit, walking beside Paul, who was also in a Freman suit. He left his crysknife in his room, not feeling the need to bring it for this mission.
The group arrived at an Ornithopter with a woman standing there, waiting. “The Judge of the Change, sire. Dr. Liet Kynes.” Gurney introduced the woman.
“My Lord, Duke, welcome to Arrakis.” Liet bowed her head to show respect.
“You are the Imperial ecologist.” (Your Name) spoke up excitedly, “Thank you for the stillsuits.”
Liet turned to the boy, her eyes going wide a little at the blue-eyed boy standing in front of her, but nevertheless, the woman answered, “They are Fremen made, the best. With your permission, sire, I must check the integrity-”
Gurney and some other soldiers pulled out their blades, the older weapons master holding his against Liet's neck. But the woman didn't flinch.
“Ohh, it's alright.” The Duke reassured Gurney, who backed off. “Dr. Kynes, we're in your hands.”
Liet began checking everyone's suits as she explained its uses, “A stillsuit is a high-efficiency filtration system. Even this early in the morning wouldn't survive two hours without one of these. It cools the body and recycles the water lost to sweat. Your body's movement provides the power. Inside the mask, you'll find a tube to allow you to drink the recycled water. In good working order, your suit won't lose more than a thimble full of water a day.”
“Most impressive.” The Duke commented. Liet smiled and nodded before turning to look at the two young adults.
“Let's have a look at you, lads.” She began checking their suits but noticed there was nothing to fix.
“You two have worn a stillsuit before?” Liet asked them.
“No, it's our first time.” Paul replied, shaking his head a little.
Liet stared at the two but was more leery when looking at (Your Name). “Your desert boots are fitted slip-fashion at the ankles. Who taught you two to do that?”
The pair shared a look before replying softly and in sync, “It seemed the right way.”
Liet narrowed her blue spiced eyes on the pair, nodding. “They shall know your ways as though born to them.” She muttered in her language.
Not understanding what she said (Your Name) muttered, “Are you Fremen?”
“I am accepted in both sietch and village.” She replied to the (hair color) haired boy, still leery with her eye contact before turning back to face everyone else, “Now, come and see the spice sands on which your livelihood depends.”
〰️
Everyone got into two Ornithopters and both of them were now flying over the beautiful desert.
(Your Name) was looking out the window, a strange feeling stirring inside him as he looked.
“What would you do if your Ornithopter went down out here?” Paul asked who was sitting next to his childhood best friend.
“You wouldn't want to go down there. It's worm territory.” Liet answered.
(Your Name) looked out the wide window in the front of the Ornithopter, seeing something out there. “Look.” He pointed.
Gurney followed where he was pointing to, “Dust cloud. I see it.”
“That's one of your harvesters.” Liet said, correcting the older man.
The Ornithopter flew more over towards the dust cloud, seeing a big machine producing it; it was a crawler.
“You can see the spice scattered over the surface. Rich spice bed by the color.” Liet explained, “If you get a little higher, you'll have a better view.”
The Duke did as she requested, looking a little too excited to do so, making the best friends smile softly. The Duke flew the Ornithopter a bit higher now, “You see these spotter aircraft looking for worm signs.” Liet pointed to a small machine flying around them outside.
“Worm signs?” Paul said.
“A sand wave moving toward the crawler. Worms travel deep but get closer to the surface when they attack. If you are patient, we should see one.” Leit explained, looking around the desert.
“Worms always come?” Gurney asked.
“Always, they're drawn by the rhythmic noises.”
“Why don't we just shield the crawlers?” (Your Name) asked.
“A shield is a death sentence in the desert. It attracts the worms and drives them into a killing frenzy.” Liet replied.
(Your Name) once again looked out the windshield, seeing something moving in the sand. “That's a worm.” He stated.
Liet pulled out her binoculars, seeing that a worm was indeed moving in the sand. She turned back to (Your Name) impressed, “You have a great eye.”
Paul watched the interaction with a smile, pride swelling in his chest. That was his best friend.
“Calling crawler Delta Ajax 9. Worm sign warning. Acknowledge.” Liet spoke into her headpiece.
“Who calls Delta Ajax 9? Over.” A male's voice spoke out of the radio.
“They seem pretty calm about it.” Gurney pointed out.
“Unlisted flight, Imperium business. Worm sign, North and East of you. 3.7 kilometers.” Liet spoke again.
“Delta Ajax 9, this is Spotter 1, worm sighting confirmed. Standby for contact fix.” The same male's voice spoke over the radio, “Worm is on intercept course to your position. Contact in five minutes.”
“So what happens now?” Gurney asked.
“They'll call the carryall to lift the crawler. They'll harvest right up to the last minute.” Liet answered.
(Your Name) watched as the carryall tried to unload the anchors, but one of them didn't work. When it came out, it broke. The boy's eyes went wide with shock and clenched his hands.
“Shit.” Liet cursed in subtle panic.
“How many men on that crawler?” The Duke asked.
“Crawler of twenty one.” Liet replied
“Our ships can take six.”
“But that's still three short.” (Your Name) stressed.
The Duke looked over his shoulder at the slightly panicked (hair color) haired boy. “We'll find a way.” He reassured him before flying the Ornithopter down to the sand.
(Your Name) unbuckled himself hastily, following after Paul and Gurney.
“Paul, (Your Name) I want you two at the back of the thropter, guide them in.” The Duke ordered.
The blue-eyed boy walked down the ramp, landing on the sand, and that same feeling from earlier came back. But this time, it was a calming one. He took a deep breath in and started to walk towards the crawler, Paul close behind.
He raised a hand to his eyes to shield himself from some of the flying sand without obstructing his vision. He saw people starting to climb down the stairs of the crawler.
“Hey!” Paul let out a yell, waving his hands to gain the people's attention.
“Seven over here, seven over there!” Paul shouted, gesturing to the Ornithopters.
Suddenly, a big gust of wind blocked any sight.
(Your Name) looked around frantically, shielding his eyes with his hands as he stumbled around in the sandstorm.
“Paul!” He shouted, trying to find his best friend.
The wind died down, and his vision cleared again. But when he looked around, he saw he was far from where he just was. He looked around in a panic.
“Paul?! Gurney?!” He called out, trying to stabilize his breathing.
The feeling he felt earlier came back. But it was the feeling of nervousness he felt when in the Ornithopter. Then, a sudden weird voice started talking to him in his head.
“Haris Aldaw’.”
(Your Name) grunted, looking around more, his breathing heavy.
Suddenly, out of the blue, the area got dark.
‘What? How is this possible?’ He thought to herself.
((Music: Kingdom Hearts OST 11: Heartless Theme))
He ran across the sand, stopping when he looked up into the sky. He gasped at what she saw.
A dark orb glowing black, blue and pink, flashing every few seconds as a faint white line circled the orb.
“What's that?” He asked himself.
Then, it hit him. He let out a gasp of fear.
‘That was the dark orb that appeared on Destiny Islands when Riku called out to the darkness!’
“Oh no.”
He looked around in a panic, not knowing what to do.
Suddenly, dark shadows appeared on the sand and surfaced, transforming into small ant-like shadows, their eyes gold.
Tumblr media
(Your Name) gasped in fear. “The Heartless!” He exclaimed, his breathing heavier than earlier. He went to grab his crysknife, then remembered he left it behind. “Crap.”
Without a weapon, he started to run. He ran as the Heartless chased after him. More emerged from the sand, and now a whole horde of around twenty was chasing after him.
As he ran, more emerged, but this time, in front of him. He slid in the sand, slowing himself down. He looked behind him, and more Heartless were running towards him. He felt his heart beat faster as fear and uncertainty settled in.
He looked down and saw the darkness, coming out from underneath his feet, like wispy smoke, seemingly swallowing his whole. He panicked and looked around. When he looked forward, he swore he saw two figures standing there. One with silver hair and blue green eyes and one with brown spiky hair and cobalt eyes.
They had their hands reached out towards him seemingly. He reached his hand out to take theirs. But the darkness quickly rose and obstructed his vision. He desperately reached out further towards them, but the darkness had swallowed him.
He felt helpless.
He thought he was going to die.
But then, a bright light broke through the darkness, and it got brighter and brighter. Eventually, it rid the darkness surrounding his body, and he stumbled forward. He stabilized himself, and he regained his balance. He looked around and saw that there was no darkness around him anymore. But the strangest feeling he felt was what was in his hand.
He looked down and saw a sword, shaped like a key. Its hilt was silver, and the base was gold with a black rubber handle in the middle, where his hand was gripped. A silver keychain hung from the bottom of the hilt, with a mouse symbol charm on the end. He recognized the weapon.
It was a Keyblade.
Tumblr media
((Here's what it looks like. Fun fact: I drew this myself.))
Tumblr media
((Here's a 3D version of it))
“Keyblade… Keyblade…” He swore he heard the voice again.
He examined the key, and then he felt something else. He didn't feel the slight tightness of his stillsuit on his body. He looked down and gasped. His clothes had changed.
Instead of the stillsuit, he now wore a black sleeveless shirt with white trim on the collar. Black baggy Capri pants that had gray pockets on them and red lines around the thigh area and stopped at his mid calf. They were held up by a blue belt. His shoes were now black boots with yellow patterns on them and a belt like strap around the foot of the shoe. He felt a jacket on him, too. It was black with a gray stripe running down each sleeve, (Favorite Color) at the rims, a (Favorite Color) hood, and plaid patterned lapels that were also (Favorite Color). He wore gray fingerless gloves with (Favorite Color) rims around the top and bottom and a yellow belt like strap underneath a light gray circle on the back of his hand.
Tumblr media
((Here's your outfit. Basically, Kingdom Hearts 3 Sora, but the red is replaced with your (Favorite Color). Disclaimer: I don't own the art.))
He looked at his new clothes with amazement.
‘This must be the magic the keyblade wielders have.’ He thought to herself.
After he took in his new look, he observed the new weapon in his hand.
‘It looks just like the one Sora wielded.’
Breaking his train of thought, the Heartless emerged again.
Instinctively, he took a fighting stance.
One of the Heartless charged at him. He swung the Keyblade at it, destroying it in three hits. He gasped softly at the weapon's power. More Heartless charged at him, and he swung the Keyblade at them, taking them out one by one.
Hitting, swinging, jumping then swinging, dodge rolling away from them, slashing at them.
He ran back in the direction he ran from earlier towards where the crawler was supposed to be, slashing at all the Heartless that emerged and charged at him.
Eventually, he got rid of all of them. But the wind picked up. He heard stomping behind him, and he turned, gasping at what he saw.
A giant shadow monster with golden eyes.
Tumblr media
“Darkside.” He whispered. He got into a fighting position before charging at the enormous monster. He slashed at its hands as it burst balls of darkness energy at him. As he fought him, more of the shadow Heartless emerged. He fought them all off and eventually defeated Darkside.
((Music ends here))
The shadow monster was pulled into the orb that still resided in the sky. (Your Name) watched as sand was taken upward towards the orb. He covered his eyes with his arms.
“It is… you. Haris Aldaw’ A Keyblade wielder.”
The voice was back. He didn't have much time to contemplate because when he slowly removed his arms from his face, the dark area was returned back to what it was before.
He was now back in the Arrakis desert.
He looked around, breathing heavily. He looked down and saw his Keyblade was done, and he was back in his stillsuit.
‘What was that? Was I still in Arrakis when that happened? Or a different universe entirely?’ He thought to herself.
Then he realized that since he was now back in Arrakis, he needed to find Paul.
He ran back to where he last saw the crawler.
“Paul!” He shouted, running faster. The rumbling of the approaching sandworm got louder. He saw the crawler through the harsh sand-ridden wind and picked up the pace. He felt faster than he ever felt.
He made it to the crawler.
He saw two figures standing by it. One was helping another up from a kneeling position. He recognized them.
It was Paul and Gurney.
“Paul! Gurney!” He yelled.
Gurney looked to the side and saw the (hair color) haired boy running towards them.
“Kid! Come on!” He yelled as Paul and Gurney started to run towards the Ornithopter as the worm got closer and closer.
(Your Name) was now sprinting to get to them. He saw them fall and the sand around them sinking a little. He panicked and tried to run faster. The two guys got up and made it to the Ornithopter, running up the ramp.
“(Your Name)! Come on!” Paul yelled in desperation.
The boy ran as fast as he could across the sand. He saw that the Ornithopter was starting to go up into the air, the ramp still out with Paul and Gurney holding on.
“(Your Name)! You have to jump!” Gurney yelled to the boy, not wanting to lose the boy he thought and saw as his son.
The Ornithopter was already so high in the air that (Your Name) thought he wouldn't make it. But he knew he had no choice. He had to try.
He took a deep breath in, and ran faster than he ever had, and leaped off the sand just as the sandworm emerged from underneath him, right where he once stood.
“Haris Aldaw’. A keyblade wielder has been chosen.” A haunting voice echoed in his mind.
(Your Name) felt like he was flying as he jumped into the air, like some sort of magic was helping him jump this high.
He twirled her body, the air or maybe even magic giving him more leverage and momentum, making him jump higher. He laughed softly in amazement.
He landed on the ramp, legs bent as he stood, his upper body bent over, one hand on his knee and the other touching the metal ramp. He straightened up and looked up and saw Paul's teary eyes and Gurney’s shocked expression.
There was no way a normal human being would jump that high and seemingly jump up again to gain more height off the ground. No way in hell.
He was breathing hard, and he gave a soft smile to Paul. Then, he felt his body weaken. All the fighting, running, and jumping up so high finally got to him. He started to fall forward.
“(Your Name)!” Paul panicked and caught his body before it could hit the metal ramp. The male looked down at the exhausted boy, the love of his life, and felt tears well up more in his eyes at the fact that he almost lost him.
“Oh God-” He whispered, leaning his forehead against (Your Name)'s, nuzzling his nose against his. The blue-eyed boy let out a tired laugh, doing it back to Paul.
“Where were you? Why would you do that?” He whispered, moving away from (Your Name)'s face and burying his face into the crook of his neck. (Your Name) didn't answer, too drained to speak. He just nuzzled his face against the side of Paul's neck, wrapping his arms limply around him.

Chapter 5: A Reality Come to Life
Tumblr media
〰️
The Ornithopter landed on the ground. (Your Name) and Paul smiled widely as they sprinted towards the aircraft.
“Duncan!” They exclaimed in excitement.
“Ah! My girl! My boy!” Duncan exclaimed in just as much excitement.

“For four weeks I’ve lived with the Fremen, hidden in the desert, in the community called the sietch. Stilgar, the leader of that sietch has come with me to meet you sir.” Duncan told the Duke.
Finally they sent a warrior out to kill me. And I gotta tell you, I've never come so close to dying.” Duncan explained, proud smile still present on his face. “There's no finer fighter in the Imperium. They fight like demons.”
“Desert power.” The Duke breathed.
The Duke walked up to Duncan, clasping his hand in his, and patting Duncan's arm with his other hand.
The door opened and entered a man who was apparently walking a little too fast because Paul immediately pushed (Your Name) behind him, becoming protective of her as usual.
Stilgar said nothing for some time, and suddenly he inhaled and spat on the table.
The Duke spat on the table a few seconds after Duncan, causing (Your Name) to suppress her laugh by burying her face into the back of Paul's shoulders. Paul bit his bottom lip to try to keep himself from smiling at (Your Name)’s action. It didn't work and he smiled to himself in amusement.
In fact this whole time, he's been looking at everyone except the (hair color) haired girl. Paul brought (Your Name), who was now on the side of him, closer to him, arm around her shoulders protectively.
“That's true.” He spoke up.
“I know you've suffered at the hands of the Harkonnen, not to mention the new sightings of demons.
(Your Name) looked at the group, at the mention of the demons, or as she now knows them, as the Heartless.
(Your Name)’s attention was brought to Stilgar when she heard the ‘demons’ mentioned again.
“You will address The Duke as ‘my lord’ or ‘sire’.” Gurney corrected in an angry voice.
“Gurney, just… just a moment,” The Duke paused before speaking again, “The Emperor has given me Arrakis as my fief to rule and protect. I cannot promise not to travel into the desert if duty compels me. But your sietches will be yours forever and you will never be hunted or harmed while I govern here.”
“I recognize you two.” He spoke to the pair softly, in his language, nodding to the girl who looked confused.
“It's a paracompass.” Duncan told him.
(Your Name) opened hers and gasped at the sight. It was a crysknife. “How did you get one of these?” She asked, surprised. “These are sacred.”
Duncan shrugged. “A favor.” He replied simply. “Hopefully, you won't have to use it.” He added with a playful smirk.
Her smile grew. “Thank you so much.”
Duncan smiled back at her, ruffling her hair. “Of course, kid.”
“The moons here have a magnetic field so a simple compass needle won't point north.
Everyone around laughed, including Paul and (Your Name), who felt her heart flutter when she saw Paul smile that perfect smile. Paul felt the same way when he saw (Your Name) smile.
Gurney smiled in amusement, “My God, man, you've gone native.”
“You admire them.” (Your Name) stated, looking at Duncan, carefully twirling her new crysknife in her hand.
Duncan nodded at the girl, a small smile on his face, “I do. They're fierce and loyal. They remind me of you, (Your Name).
The girl laughed to herself at the comment, and playfully nudged Duncan's arm with hers.
〰️
The next day came surprisingly fast. The sun was high in the nearly white sky, brightening everything around.
(Your Name) was in a stillsuit, walking beside Paul, who was also in a Freman suit. She left her crysknife at her room, not feeling the need to bring it for this mission.
Liet turned to the girl, her eyes going wide a little at the blue eyed girl standing in front of her, but nevertheless the woman answered, “They are Fremen made, the best.
Liet smiled and nodded, before turning to look at the two young adults.
“Let's have a look at you, kids.” She began checking their suits but noticed there was nothing to fix.
Not understanding what she said, (Your Name) muttered, “Are you Fremen?”
“I am accepted in both sietch and village.” She replied to the (hair color) haired girl, still leery with her eye contact before turning back to face everyone else, “Now, come and see the spice sands on which your livelihood depends.”
〰️
Everyone got into two Ornithopters, and both of them were now flying over the beautiful desert.
(Your Name) was looking out the window, a strange feeling stirring inside her as she looked.
“Look.” She pointed.
Gurney followed where she was pointing to, “Dust cloud.
If you are patient we should see one.” Leit explained, looking around the desert.
“That's a worm.” She stated.
Acknowledge.” Liet spoke into her head piece.
(Your Name) watched as the carryall tried to unload the anchors but one of them didn't work. When it came out, it broke. The girl's eyes went wide with shock and clenched her hands.
“Shit.” Liet cursed in subtle panic.
“How many men on that crawler?” The Duke asked.
“Crawler of twenty one.” Liet replied
“Our ships can take six.”
“But that's still three short.” (Your Name) stressed.
The Duke looked over his shoulder at the slightly panicked (hair color) haired girl. “We'll find a way.” He reassured her before flying the Ornithopter down to the sand.
(Your Name) unbuckled herself hastily, following after Paul and Gurney.
“Paul, (Your Name) I want you two at the back of the thropter, guide them in.” The Duke ordered.
The said girl walked down the ramp, landing on the sand and that same feeling from earlier came back. But this time, it was a calming one. She took a deep breath in and started to walk towards the crawler, Paul close behind.
She raised a hand to her eyes to shield herself from some of the flying sand, without obstructing her vision. She saw people starting to climb down the stairs of the crawler.
“Hey!” Paul let out a yell, waving his hands to gain the people's attention.
“Seven over here, seven over there!” Paul shouted, gesturing to the Ornithopters.
Suddenly, a big gust of wind blocked any sight.
(Your Name) looked around frantically, shielding her eyes with her hands as she stumbled around in the sandstorm.
“Paul!” She shouted, trying to find her best friend.
The wind died down and her vision cleared again. But when she looked around, she saw she was far from where she just was. She looked around in a panic.
“Paul?! Gurney?!” She called out, trying to stabilize her breathing.
The feeling she felt earlier came back. But it was the feeling of nervousness she felt when in the Ornithopter. Then, a sudden weird voice started talking to her in her head.
“Haris Aldaw’.”
(Your Name) grunted, looking around more, her breathing heavy.
Suddenly, out of the blue, the area got dark.
‘What? How is this possible?’ She thought to herself.
((Music: Kingdom Hearts OST 11: Heartless Theme))
She ran across the sand, stopping when she looked up into the sky. She gasped at what she saw.
A dark orb glowing black, blue and pink, flashing every few seconds as a faint white line circled the orb.
“What's that?” She asked herself.
Then, it hit her. She let out a gasp of fear.
‘That was the dark orb that appeared on Destiny Islands when Riku called out to the darkness!’
“Oh no.”
She looked around in a panic, not knowing what to do.
Suddenly, dark shadows appeared on the sand and surfaced, transforming into small ant-like shadows, their eyes gold.
Tumblr media
(Your Name) gasped in fear. “The Heartless!” She exclaimed, her breathing heavier than earlier. She went to grab her crysknife and then remembered she had left it behind. “Crap.”
Without a weapon, she started to run. She ran as the Heartless chased after her. More emerged from the sand, and now a whole horde of around twenty was chasing after her.
As she ran, more emerged, but this time, in front of her. She slid in the sand, slowing herself down. She looked behind her, and more Heartless were running towards her. She felt her heart beat faster as fear and uncertainty settled in.
She looked down and saw the darkness, coming out from underneath her feet, like wispy smoke, seemingly swallowing her whole. She panicked and looked around. When she looked forward, she swore she saw two figures standing there. One with silver hair and blue green eyes and one with brown spiky hair and cobalt eyes.
They had their hands reached out towards her seemingly. She reached her hand out to take theirs. But the darkness quickly rose and obstructed her vision. She desperately reached out further towards them but the darkness had swallowed her.
She felt helpless.
She thought she was going to die.
But then, a bright light broke through the darkness and it got brighter and brighter. Eventually, it rid the darkness surrounding her body and she stumbled forward. She stabilized herself and she regained her balance. She looked around and saw that there was no darkness around her anymore. But the strangest feeling she felt was what was in her hand.
She looked down and saw a sword, shaped like a key. Its hilt was silver and the base was gold with a black rubber handle in the middle, where her hand was gripped. A silver keychain hung from the bottom of the hilt, with a mouse symbol charm on the end. She recognized the weapon.
It was a Keyblade.
Tumblr media
((Here's what it looks like. Fun fact: I drew this image myself.))
Tumblr media
((Here's a 3D verison of it))
“Keyblade… Keyblade…” She swore she heard the voice again.
She examined the key then she felt something else. She didn't feel the slight tightness of her stillsuit on her body. She looked down and gasped. Her clothes had changed.
Instead of the stillsuit, she now wore a plain, black t-shirt, gray shorts with black pieces of fabric sticking out with (Your Favorite Color) and black plaid patterned pockets on the sides. Your shorts were held with a silver belt. You looked down and saw that you had on (Your Favorite Color) knee high socks with white patches on the top, and tall white boots with a wide open opening, the rim decorated with silver studs. Black straps wrapped around the middle of the boots with a (Favorite Color) strip shaped like a ‘V’ a little above the ankle. You felt the new jacket wrapped on you as well. It was cropped to be just below your breasts and it was white with gray and the stripe running down the short sleeves, and the lapels were (Your Favorite Color). Your hood was black with small little pieces of fabric coming out, like animal ears. Your hands had fingerless gloves that were back with (Your Favorite Color) on the hems and a silver circle on the back of your hand to complete the look.
Tumblr media
((Here's what your outfit looks like. The pink parts of the outift will be your (Favorite Color). I'll have one for the male verison, too. Disclaimer: I don't own the art for this one.))
She looked at her new clothes with amazement.
‘This must be the magic the keyblade wielders have.’ She thought to herself.
After she took in her new look, she observed the new weapon in her hand.
‘It looks just like the one Sora wielded.’
Breaking her train of thought, the Heartless emerged again.
Instinctively, she took a fighting stance.
One of the Heartless charged at her. She swung the Keyblade at it, destroying it in three hits. She gasped softly at the weapon's power. More Heartless charged at her and she swung the Keyblade at them, taking them out one by one.
Hitting, swinging, jumping, then swinging, dodge rolling away from them, slashing at them.
She ran back in the direction she ran from earlier towards where the crawler was supposed to be, slashing at all the Heartless that emerged and charged at her.
Eventually, she got rid of all of them. But the wind picked up. She heard stomping behind her and she turned, gasping at what she saw.
A giant shadow monster with golden eyes.
Tumblr media
“Darkside.” She whispered. She got into a fighting position before charging at the enormous monster. She slashed at its hands as it burst balls of darkness energy at her. As she fought him, more of the shadow Heartless emerged. She fought them all off and eventually defeated Darkside.
((Music ends here))
The shadow monster was pulled into the orb that still resided in the sky. (Your Name) watched as sand was taken upward towards the orb. She covered her eyes with her arms.
“It is… you. Haris Aldaw’ A Keyblade wielder.”
The voice was back. She didn't have much time to contemplate because when she slowly removed her arms from her face, the dark area was returned back to what it was before.
She was now back in the Arrakis desert.
She looked around, breathing heavily. She looked down and saw her Keyblade was done, and she was back in her stillsuit.
‘What was that? Was I still in Arrakis when that happened? Or a different universe entirely?’ She thought to herself.
Then she realized that since she was now back in Arrakis, she needed to find Paul.
She ran back to where she last saw the crawler.
“Paul!” She shouted, running faster. The rumbling of the approaching sandworm got louder. She saw the crawler through the harsh sand-ridden wind and picked up the pace. She felt faster than she ever felt.
She made it to the crawler.
She saw two figures standing by it. One was helping another up from a kneeling position. She recognized them.
It was Paul and Gurney.
“Paul! Gurney!” She yelled.
Gurney looked to the side and saw the (hair color) haired girl running towards them.
“Kid! Come on!” He yelled as Paul and Gurney started to run towards the Ornithopter as the worm got closer and closer.
(Your Name) was now sprinting to get to them. She saw them fall and the sand around them sinking a little. She panicked and tried to run faster. The two guys got up and made it to the Ornithopter, running up the ramp.
“(Your Name)! Come on!” Paul yelled in desperation.
The girl ran as fast as she could across the sand. She saw that the Ornithopter was starting to go up into the air, the ramp still out with Paul and Gurney holding on.
“(Your Name)! You have to jump!” Gurney yelled to the grill, not wanting to lose the woman he thought and saw as his daughter.
The Ornithopter was already so high in the air that (Your Name) thought she wouldn't make it. But she knew she had no choice. She had to try.
She took a deep breath in, and ran faster than she ever had, and leaped off the sand just as the sandworm emerged from underneath her, right where she once stood.
“Haris Aldaw’. A keyblade wielder has been chosen.” A haunting voice echoed in her mind.
(Your Name) felt like she was flying as she jumped into the air, like some sort of magic was helping her jump this high.
She twirled her body, the air or maybe even magic giving her more leverage and momentum, making her jump higher. She laughed softly in amazement.
