I understand the appeal of wanting every adult hero to instinctively adopt teenage Peter Parker, but can it really beat the hilarity of acknowledging that at 15 Peter was 5'10", unusually buff, went by a moniker with Man in it, wore a creepy full face mask, and had a tightly guarded secret identity and probably a Queens accent thick enough to have come out of a jello mold, and adult heroes reasonably responded to him by going, “Wow, this grown man is an immature asshole for no reason.”

when i play among us in public games i’m usually a pink astronaut in a pirate hat named hamlet and i know that lots of kids and teens playing with me haven’t heard of or read hamlet yet, so i like to imagine that months or years in the future when they do read hamlet they just picture the titular character like

Dammit, people, if you’re going to write a Canadian character, you can’t just throw “eh” in wherever. It’s not a verbal tic - it has a very specific semantic role.

In brief, “eh” does one of two things:

Turn an imperative into a request. e.g., “Pass me that wrench, eh?”

Turn a statement into a question. e.g., “Cold out there, eh?”

In the latter case, there are several situations where it’s commonly used:

The speaker is not sure that the statement she’s just made is correct, and is asking the listener to confirm. e.g., “That’s about forty kilometers West of here, eh?”

The speaker is checking that the listener is still interested and wishes for her to continue, but does not expect any specific response. e.g., “So then this freakin’ moose shows up, eh?”

The speaker is being sarcastic. e.g., “You really thought that one through, eh?”

When used in this way, “eh” is roughly equivalent to appending “isn’t it?” (“doesn’t it?”, “didn’t you?”, etc.) to the end of a sentence; interestingly, it also functions very much like the Japanese “ne”, which has a nearly identical effect when appended to a statement.

Now you know.

wake up I got another fic idea—

I’ll make it on ao3 since it’s gonna be a long book but basically I take the “Knock Out and Blades are roommates in med school” and go crazy with it. We all know KO has a knack for getting into less than desirable situations. His time in University is no exception. But now… Blades is roped into the chaos. So they get into some really bad shit and they gotta get out of it if they want to graduate.

anyways they’d be a hilarious duo like possibly funnier than Starscream and Knock Out in Tfp lol. And they’re pretty young in this fic too, since they’re in college. I’m so gonna write this even though there’s other stuff to do this is now my priority I need this duo
