Where have I been?
Not entirely sure who'll care what I have to say, but I'm gonna say it anyways just like with the Skydoesminecraft situation. I will not be writing for Minecraft youtubers anymore, save for the Hermitcraft community. They seem to be the only ones that I watch that are consistently good creators. Unfortunately, I will not be writing for anything dsmp related, even though I'd stopped a while ago. Trying to write any of the remaining ideas I had concerning Techno is just too painful still, and I don't know if it'll ever stop being painful. And with the allegations that came out against Wilbur and most recently George, I don't feel comfortable engaging with their content/the streamers who are still friends with them. This extends to all of the "dream team" and the band Lovejoy, seeing as they have yet to make a public statement, at least that I'd seen.
All that said, what will my content look like seeing as I haven't posted in at least a year? Well, there's going to be some changes. I've grown out of fandoms, and into new ones in the last year. I got really into the Modern Warfare series and Call of Duty: Ghosts throughout last year, so some of those guys and girls might make an appearance on my page occasionally. Hermitcraft might also make an appearance, with the fics being in the same style as the other hermit fic I'd posted. Outside of that, I can't give an exact list anymore because I haven't felt truly interested in anything. I'd lost the ability to enjoy all the things I used to enjoy as I got further into my depression, and it all culminated in my making a few drastic changes in May of last year. I left my job and got a better paying one working overnights because I would cry going home at just how awful my days were and how poorly treated I'd been for the 4 years I worked there. I made a bunch of new friends online and got into some niche internet drama outside of Tumblr that I might share my side of in the next few months- not to drag up old fights, but to warn people who might be thinking of or currently watch a certain TikTok creator. I'm about to DM my first D&D campaign with some of my new friends and I'm very excited about it because I've spent more than 7 months planning and creating it.
But most importantly, in my time away I realized a lot. I've been dealing with major writers block for more than a year because every time I tried to write I compared myself to the other writers I follow on here. Specifically in the modern warfare community. I had so many ideas for fics, but every time I sat down to write them they wouldn't come out as good as I wanted them, or it wasn't up to the standard that I was trying to meet because I thought that no one would read it if I didn't meet that. Even now, just venting, I'm worried about how many likes and how much engagement this post will get and that's such an awful mentality to have. I used to love writing, and I still do. But I've learned to accept that it's okay to be at a different level of writing than the others on here, and that I shouldn't stop just because my characterization sucks or sometimes the plot is a little rocky. I shouldn't be worried about all of that, because writing fanfiction started as me writing for myself. It all started, way back when I was a young teenager, making a Wattpad account and writing my first fic, which I believe was a purge fanfiction with Skydoesminecraft and the rest of Sky Media. I'm 21 now, and I can definitely say I've improved, but I'm tired of trying to base my improvement on how good everyone else is. I'm tired of being depressed about how other writers make it look so easy to just have these great, cinematic moments in their fics with wonderful lines that stick with you after you finish reading them.
So, back to the question. What will my content look like? It'll look like whatever I want it to look like. I'm going to write for who I want, when I want. If that means posting 20 batman fanfics in a row, and then making a complete 180 to Hermitcraft or Criminal Minds or even House, then so be it. But I'm going to be doing it for me, and not for how many likes and followers a particular character or fandom will get me.
If you read all this, thank you. I really do appreciate everyone who's ever engaged with my stuff on this site, it truly does mean the world to me.
(Also, quick aside. If you're from the HermitCraft fandom and you write weird nsfw with them, for the love of god block me now. I saw a fic where Grian rapes Docm, and I'm never going to be able to unsee it thanks to it not being tagged right. They are all real, grown people with families. What the fuck.)

doomed by the narrative but not to death. doomed to survive. doomed to stay alive inside the story. doomed to never escape the narrative, not even through death. you are allowed no exit. there is no way out for you and there never was. you couldn’t die if you wanted to. the narrative has a hold on you and it won’t let go. death is too sweet a doom for you. the story has something much worse in mind. there is no way out.

what’s the softest way to say you took away my friend?
Warnings: none
Word Count: 388
Ao3 link: well well well.
Normally I post DSMP stuff, but I was listening to ‘Just Take My Wallet”  by Jack Stauber and got inspired to write this based off of the ending lines. I thought that the moment where Grian kills Mumbo had the opportunity to be heart wrenching and so I did that. Enjoy,
It’s raining. Grian likes the rain. It’s like the Earth is crying with him. In all honesty, it’s his fault alone that this happened. He didn’t have to kill Mumbo.
But he did, didn’t he. Mumbo had to learn that his actions have consequences, and that even an accidental punch between friends is a declaration of war in these circumstances.
Grians jumper does nothing against the rain, soaking through quickly. He doesn’t mind, though.
“Hey, we got to go.” Joel places his hand on Grians shoulder as if to comfort him. But red lives cannot feel sympathy, or remorse.
“Okay.” Grian whispers, turning from the unmarked grave he’d hand dug for his friend and following Joel through the forest to the southland.
“I’ll just be a minute.” Grian mumbles, making his way to his tower.
Once alone, the full reality of what he did washes over him, and he sits numbly on the edge of his bed. He hadn’t meant to kill him, even if he needed to teach Mumbo a lesson. He hadn’t wanted to. But after a year of surviving against all odds- doing what was necessary- he didn’t even question how quickly he went into kill mode when threatened.
What’s wrong with me, Grian thinks to himself.
Grian rests his head in his hands, shame burning through him. Shame and disgusting. Disgust as himself, and his flimsy  views of morality. If he went that far with Mumbo, what’s stopping him from doing that to his other friends, to anyone who even looks like a threat. Survival does not constitute unnecessary violence.
Slowly, he rises from the bed, gathers his things, and leaves the tower. He looks around the southland, his eye catching sight of Mumbos tower peeking through the wall that goes over it.
A radio tower, he explained. In this world they had no use for radios, not like Hermitcraft, or everyone’s else’s various servers. But he insisted. Said he felt 10x less alone with a reminder of home. So Grian let him keep it.
He looks away from the brutal reminder of his friend and jumps over the moving pistons at the entrance of the base. It’s almost night now, but Grian doesn’t care. In a world where there are no morals, the only thing left for him to lose is his life.

In the spirit of encouraging people to comment on fanfics while also making it easier to do so, I feel obliged to share a browser extension for ao3 that has quite literally revolutionized the comment game for me.
I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!
From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!
I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.
The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.
(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)
Tumblr media
If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.
Tumblr media
The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.
insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box
add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box
delete -> self explanatory
on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic
The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.
Comments are what keep writers going, and as both a writer and a reader, I think it's such an easy way of showing support and enthusiasm.

List of responses after they kiss
“Why’d you do that?” “Because you wouldn’t shut up.”
“Can we do that again?”
“Why’d you stop?” “Because you weren’t responding.”
“I should have done this so much earlier…”
“Quick, kiss me again, they’re coming back—”
“What the hell just happened?”
“Why did you…” “I’m trying to remind you of what happened last night.”
“Let me teach you what a real kiss is.”
“What was that for?!”
“That was my first kiss and I can’t believe it was with you.”
“Your face is so red. Are you okay?”
“That’s so unfair!” “What’s unfair?” “You can’t just do that without warning me!”
“That was… Interesting?”
“I’m never doing that again.”
“You do this often?”
“You’re going to make me come back for more.”
“You uh… You taste amazing.”
“Were you trying to devour me whole or something?”
“We need to do that again.”
“I didn’t know how much I wanted this until now.”

List of “they’re fake dating but are crossing way too many lines to be considered fake anymore” prompts
Character A’s arm around Character B’s waist, subconsciously keeping them close; glaring at people who try to get close to Character B.
Heart twisting uncomfortably in Character A’s chest when they see Character B’s eyes lighting up when they’re talking to someone else, so much so Character A has to tear their eyes away to calm themselves down. The reminder of fake, fake, fake repeats in Character A’s head.
Seeking for Character B’s hand subconsciously, intertwining their fingers, palm pressed against palm; snug and warm, the feeling of never wanting to let go almost overwhelming. But this is fake be damned — for now, it’s all about the comfort. (It becomes a habit.)
Drunken kisses. God, the drunken kisses, with Character B’s fingers in Character A’s hair and Character B perched in their lap, kissing them with no restraint; things getting heated, Character A’s hands slipping under Character B’s shirt and earning a slight shiver from them. All the while, Character A could only wish Character B would kiss them like this when they’re sober. Character A lets that thought linger until they both fall asleep in each other’s arms after kissing way too many times to count because they can’t seem to get enough of each other.
Late night phone calls or endless text messages at two in the morning, never wanting the conversation to end. It makes Character A wonder, but they stop themselves before these thoughts spiral out of their control.
The thoughts of wanting Character B in a way they can’t have them becomes more frequent. They know it’s only going to break them by thinking like this, but they continue to entertain the idea of it; of how it would be like to call Character B theirs, for real. (It’s unhealthy, so fucking unhealthy, but they can’t help it.)
Kisses becoming longer; more desperate, more passionate, with no need for alcohol. It burns to have Character B kiss them like they mean it; like there’s supposed to be something there, but they push it down because this is fake. It’s fake. This is all an act. (Character A convince themselves, at least for a little while more.)
Gazing at each other like they’re in love with each other, even though the both of them know they’re not in love with each other (or maybe denial is more blissful than they realise?).
Fighting with each other hurts more than it should; it dissolves into tears, slamming doors shut and heart aches that wouldn’t have happened if they didn’t agree to this stupid fake dating thing.
And then it all comes to a head one day, tearful and angry confessions on the tips of their tongues. (And by God, are they so dramatic about it, too.)
B: “Why are you doing this to us? We— we were doing so good—”
A: “Because this is supposed to be fake, but I’m falling for you and I’m fucking terrified I’m never going to be able to catch myself. Because I’m falling for you and you don’t feel the same and everything in me screams for me to run away, but I can’t because it’s you.”
B: “…And who the fuck says I don’t feel the same?”

Sparring prompts:
Tumblr media
Teaching them how to hold a weapon properly by standing behind them and guiding their hands, when you notice that their face has turned red
Saying something flirty mid-fight which catches them off guard, giving you the perfect oppurtunity to strike
Somehow, their training session turns into a full on tickle fight
They wince in pain and you frantically start apologizing. As you get closer to check for any injuries, they attack suddenly, calling you out for falling for such an old trick
Or they do end up actually getting injured, so you clean off their wounds
You want to ask them out after a match, but you keep getting nervous and postponing it, and they're confused as to why you keep coming back eventhough they've defeated you everytime
Their weapon gets damaged after a fight, so you make them a new one.
Finding it difficult to focus because this is the first time you've seen them with their hair tied up
You aren't well, but you don't want to skip training and make them worry, so you continue on as usual, thinking it's not that serious. But that's proven wrong when you faint right in front of them mid-fight
They've been avoiding you a lot, and after every training session, they leave immediatly without saying a word. One day you decide to pin them to ground during a fight and ask what's wrong
Tumblr media
Dialogue:
"You've gotten better!" || "Tsk, can't say the same about you"
"I think that's enough for one day"
"...can you get off me" || "S-sorry"
"You hold it like this and- why are your hands trembling?"
"I really look forward to our next match!"
"Oh god- I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hit you that hard-"
"Didn't know you liked being pinned to the ground this much"
"Is that all you got?"
"I won't go easy on you" || "I don't want you to"
"Let's do it again!" || "Hell no. If we train any longer I'm going to pass out"

my favorite free tools for writers
hello, hello! hope you're doing well.
today i am bringing you another list with my top 3 favorite (free!) tools that I find helpful for each phase of writing a novel.
brainstorming phase
Fantasy Names Generator - not only for fantasy (you can also generate real names). this website is just... amazing! it helps you come up with names for characters, places and locations, descriptions, generate traits, outfits (yes, outfits!!), and probably something else you could ever think of.
The Story's Hack - this one is so cool! you can generate names for everything, create your own generator, and practice writing through writing exercises! plus, you can save your generated names to see later, and you earn coins for each idea generated (you can later buy themes - dark, snow, forest, etc)
RanGen - my last favorite generator on this list is RanGen! you can generate plots, appearances, archetypes, love interests, cities, worlds, items, and more.
developing the idea phase
Bryn Donovan - in this blog you can find master lists under the tag "master lists for writers". it is so helpful when you first start developing the characters and need to find the right words to describe them and to find some quirks and flaws!
Writers Write (350 character traits) - again, this is so helpful!
Story Planner - ah, the number of times I've talked about this website... please, PLEASE take a look at it, you won't regret it. this website has literally everything you need to fully develop your idea with outlines for you to fill in step by step.
writing phase
Colleen Houck (80+ barriers to love) - need more romace conflict? there you go!
Cheat Sheets for Writing Body Language - so, you know how your character's feeling, but don't know how he'd physically act? check out this list!
Describing Words - honestly, this is a lifesaver. don't you struggle to find the right word to describe something? well, with this website all you have to do is to type the object you're trying to describe and see which description fits better to you!
revising phase
Language Tool for Google Docs - i know we all have heard about google docs before, but the truth is, it's almost impossible to find free softwares to check grammar and spelling. so, google docs is useful, because it automatically revises it for us, and it's completely free. plus, you can add adds-on, such as "language tool".
Unfortunately, there's only one (free) tool that I actually enjoy for the revising phase. if you know some others, please let me know so that I can try them out and feature in this list.
exporting phase
Google Docs - i find google docs very easy to format and export to .epub, so i'd recommend using it as a free tool.
Reedsy - this is also a free tool available online. all you have to do is to write down each chapter (copy and paste) or import your word document. it will format the document to your liking and export it to pdf, epub and mobi.
that's everything for now! i hope this post was somehow helpful or inspiring!
