Their species tended to be elusive much as their own so the Leviathan swooped in to investigate. Susano inclined their head, curious, "You seem to have more knowledge than you led on. Despite giving others privacy, I know you have perhaps heard more than you fair share of... Gossip along the line. Hiding something, Observer?"

Lapras: W-Well, there are some secrets and gossip that even I cant blend out, perhaps my own curiosity or interest if it concerns the Locals or the isle overall.

Lapras: The Locals worry about a dangerous aura that has been lingering in the deep woods. They cant figure out what it is, i might have a hunch however. Oh, and a cloaked being started to circle around me. That.. I still have to mull it over. It sure is annoying not seeing it.

Lapras: It has made its rounds that there is a Mystery Dungeon by the Lake Areal. Despite humans already explored every nook and cranny of this isle, certain Pokémon can enter the Dungeon without the humans noticing.

Lapras: One of our dear Administrators was an Dungeon Explorer ~ Might as well ask them.

Oh hi! Happy Munday! an Update™️:

I am alive and well! It has been a lot lately, privately. I moved appartments, went on vacation and and and. Organizing everything has worn me down a lot and drained my energy to work on anything. Uni will start soon too...

BUT! I will have my own space in my appartment so im not going to be overwhelmed as easily!

Drawing in generall has been.. demotivating. I dont seem to be on the level i wish to be atm and im experimenting a lot. I see to nail down my sketches but line art is challenging. I have the suspicion that im very lazy! Im impatient with details and putting the extra time to make my line art/coloring pop doesnt seem to bother me. And its not fair towards this blog and the story i want to deliver!

I wont do a 180, im still going to answer asks as always but the comic aspect will have a lot of work. (＊ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

Looks like today’s the day!

With a bit of help on where to go and who to look out for, it was finally time. Hopefully it sufficed that these items were found at the building they were sleeping. Even with this, were they actually doing this all right?

"Would it be appropriate to just drop these items off?" One had a pit in one's stomach.

"I don't think so. But if they're nice but don't like what they have, I don't mind just giving them something else-"

"Ya think that's gonna work now??? Still, how the hell we know if we picked out the right stuff or not? Shadow, ya sure that book thing ain't full of shit?"

"Don't worry, it isn't! That dictionary wouldn't have lied about what we looked up, I'm sure this'll be fine!" It was somewhat of a miracle she found one of those earlier. It was probably the main reason half of the list made sense.

The four eventually approached with what they had.

"... Soooooooo. Who's t'first sacrifice?"

"Uh- I'll do it!" For the sake of not singling anyone out, Shadow takes it upon herself to start out. She cleared her throat a bit to prepare to talk to the unfamiliar human.

“Hiya!” She excitedly waved to her while hiding the gift behind her.

“I didn’t know there were fancy writing sets like this, this is really cool! I don’t really know how to make anything right now, but this should work!" Shadow thought about the dictionary from earlier, which without she wouldn't understand what was asked. "By the way, would you mind if I asked what you like to use this for?” Shadow was particularly curious, and this person looks like she wouldn’t mind talking about it, hopefully.

Wesn’s turn!

“Oh, hi, Indigo! I wanted to give this to you!”

“Unfortunately I didn’t know where to get what you exactly wanted, but…

Luckily we found this! There was a picture on the wall that showed one of these being used to store a lot of brushes. I hope you like it! If you don’t, I can try to find you something else!”

Next, while Neo-Ka was hesitant to walk up, eventually they did so. Eventually.

“Yo. Lizzy, right?”

“So, y’know how many can show up on those docks in the city? Whenever those bigger waves show up, it looks like a big ol’ mess.” The Eevee shuddered a bit. “Anyway, er, hope ya don’t have any of these yet. Somethin’ like that.”

Meanwhile, “Alright, just come along and be polite…” Hope eventually steeled one’s nerves enough to approach Magby. "Hello..."

“I was lucky with this, it was near the door where we sleep. This reminds me of someone I knew that did the same thing… Still, the blanket hopefully works too, it should be nice and warm.”

This was their first time with something like this, especially with new folks. Worry and optimism lingered that the gifts were what they'd like.

Bingo @ Lock: Wow, you look so cool, like some kind of magical island guardian! Is that your job? Do you even HAVE a job?

This is where the lapras would omit details of her work. Some details would be better kept vague to a child like this one. A level of mystique is required for such a self ordained role.

“There are many who wish to disrupt the peace on this island. Human and Pokemon alike have both tried to exploit what it can offer. Many have come close.”

Lock could regale the story of the many humans who tried to poach on the islands for its rare Pokémon. Or she could recall the opportunistic pokemon trying to either capture their own, or trying to plunder the islands of valuables.

She will not this time. There will be no mention of the storms she would create in order to disway any from arriving on the island. The attempt to drive seafarers made with her telepathy. Especially not involving the false information she would provide any would-be invaders to lead them “astray”. Where they wound up was never at her discretion, but as the saying goes ‘Sea’s are dangerous, but the islands are where the real peril is.’

“I’m grateful I am not the only guardian. There is one for each island. So I am not alone.”

"it's really not so much work as you might assume. think of us more like... a combee colony. we each do our own part to keep things running. it's not like i do everything."
