The brunette nodded. “Yes, twisters. They’re quite common back in Kansas. Rainbows don’t come too often, sadly. I love looking at them as long as I possibly can. They’re special. Do you think so?”

“Rain is better than twisters,” stated the girl. “I do like sunshine. Especially after a rain, because there’s a rainbow.”

The brunette’s frown deepened as she watched the other. She didn’t understand half of what he said, but she gave a small nod as if she did. Perhaps it was the schooling she hardly ever got, she knew next to nothing aside from farming, and the life in Oz.
“ - well, it’s nice to meet you, Percy.”
Dorothy glanced behind her, but no trace of the path she’s gone was visible. She didn’t think she crossed the sands, the only thing separating Oz from everywhere else to get to Camp. But many a strange thing occurred in her short life. “I would suggest walking down it, if you ever find it. You’ll get an adventure out of it.”

Her mouth opened then closed again. Godly parent? Her mother was a witch, but she doubted that was considered godly. “I, well..I was following the yellow brick road when I arrived here,” Dorothy answered with a frown. “My mother is a witch. My father claims to be a wizard, but he isn’t.” Hope that wasn’t a bad answer. She has a bad habit of doing that, having bad answers.

The brunette looked back at the scarecrow in surprise. Either she was seeing things, or the scarecrow was alive. “I...I’m sorry but, did you just talk?”
He then pointed to the left, he could tell she was puzzled. “It’s pleasant down that way too.”

She glanced back up to the right side, half expecting someone to be there. But there wasn't; there was only the scarecrow..She shifted her gaze to the figure, mildly surprised his arm changed direction.
"That's funny..Wasn't he pointing the other way?" Dorothy asked aloud, not sure what to think at the moment as she looked down at her dog once more.
He then pointed to the left, he could tell she was puzzled. "It's pleasant down that way too."

"How's that for you?" She asked with interest, curiosity in her dark eyes. The brunette offered him a warm smile, still happy to see him. "I bet that's hard work."

The girl turned her attention to where the voice supposedly came from, surprised that there even was a voice. She expected a person of some sort, but all she saw in the endless corn was a scarecrow. But scarecrows couldn't talk, could they?
"Who said that?" Questioned Dorothy, hazel eyes averting from the figure, only to glance down when her dog started to bark. "Don't be silly, Toto. Scarecrows don't talk," she told him, a frown on her face.

The Scarecrow stood up on his pole, expecting nothing too out of the ordinary, until he noticed a brown haired girl walking down the road. He smiled slightly, he rarely saw anyone walk down here and when they did, they just took ignored him. He was glad someone came along, hopefully something different would happen today, as he decided to respond to her. “Pardon me, but that was is a very nice way.” He told her, pointing to the right.
