Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7
Thank you to all you guys for loving Racing Hearts. It was so fun writing this. Ciao!
Tumblr media
The paddock buzzed with whispers, and the air was thick with tension as the unexpected twist in the investigation sent shockwaves through the racing world. Red Bull, once on the pedestal of triumph, now found themselves on the precipice of scandal.
Article 1 - The Unraveling of Champions:
In a shocking turn of events, Red Bull Racing's triumphant champions, Max Verstappen and Y/N, find themselves ensnared in controversy. The media spotlight has shifted from their on-track victories to an investigation that threatens to tarnish their legacy.
Every move made by the once-celebrated duo is now under a microscope. From their pit lane conversations to their off-track interactions, no detail is too small to escape scrutiny.
Article 2 - Team Unity Tested:
Red Bull Racing, known for its unyielding team spirit, now faces a formidable challenge. The camaraderie in the garage, once a pillar of strength, is strained as doubt casts a shadow over the team.
Whispers of internal discord circulate as team members navigate the pressure. Will the unity that fueled their victories withstand the relentless storm of criticism?
Article 3 - Champions Under Fire:
The champions who once dominated the podium now find themselves defending not just their titles but their very reputation. Max Verstappen and Y/N are in the eye of a media storm that threatens to dismantle the success they worked tirelessly to achieve.
Critics question every decision, every statement, amplifying the strain on the champions who are accustomed to roaring engines, not deafening scrutiny.
Article 4 - Red Bull's Crisis Management:
With the championship-winning team in crisis, Red Bull Racing grapples with the fallout. The pressure to protect its image intensifies as media speculation reaches a fever pitch.
As the team navigates this uncharted territory, the question remains: Can they weather the storm and emerge stronger on the other side, or will the drama prove too much for the once-invincible Red Bull Racing?
Article 5 - Fragile Foundations:
The foundation of Red Bull Racing, built on triumph and unity, now faces its most formidable test. Max Verstappen and Y/N bear the weight of skepticism, their once unassailable reputation now hanging in the balance.
In the midst of this turmoil, the true measure of champions is revealed. Will they crumble under the pressure, or will they rise above, proving that even in the face of doubt, they remain a force to be reckoned with?
Max and you, once celebrated champions, now faced relentless scrutiny and criticism from the media. Every move was dissected, every word analyzed. The team rallied behind you, but the pressure threatened to tear everything apart.
Yet, the drama took an unexpected turn. A new piece of evidence emerged, seemingly casting doubt on Red Bull's innocence. The media frenzy escalated, and the weight of the situation became unbearable.
The turning point came when an internal audit within Red Bull Racing uncovered irregularities in Max Verstappen's car from a previous race. The investigation revealed a potential breach of technical regulations, raising questions about the legitimacy of Max's victories.
In a surprising twist, the team decided to make this information public before the governing bodies could launch their own investigation. The move was an attempt at transparency, but it inadvertently ignited a media firestorm. Headlines screamed about Max's car possibly being in violation of the rules, casting doubt not only on his recent achievements but the entire team's credibility.
Max, sensing the potential damage to the team's reputation, made a bold and self-sacrificing decision.
In a press conference that echoed with the clamor of flashing cameras and probing questions, Max announced, "To protect the integrity of Red Bull Racing, I've decided to step away from the team temporarily while the investigation unfolds. I want the focus to be on racing, not distractions. I'll do whatever it takes to ensure Red Bull's legacy remains untarnished."
The room fell silent as the gravity of Max's sacrifice sunk in. The farewell was sudden and heart-wrenching.
The racing world, already shaken by the scandal, was now faced with the absence of one of its brightest stars. The headlines screamed of Max's sacrifice, but they couldn't capture the emotional weight of the moment.
Days turned into weeks, and the investigation continued. The absence of Max left a noticeable void in the team, and the once-united Red Bull Racing struggled to find its footing.
But then came the calm after the storm.
Headline: The Unraveling of Baseless Allegations
In a shocking revelation, the evidence that sent shockwaves through the racing world, casting doubt on Red Bull Racing's integrity, has been debunked. An internal re-evaluation by the governing bodies exposes the initial findings as groundless, leaving Max Verstappen and the team vindicated.
“Mercedes Issues Apology”
In an unprecedented move, Mercedes, the team that had been the primary voice behind the allegations, issued a public apology. Toto Wolff, team principal of Mercedes, conveys regret for the premature accusations and acknowledges the lack of concrete evidence against Red Bull Racing.
"In the spirit of fair play and competition, we must acknowledge when we are wrong," Wolff states. "Our initial concerns were based on incomplete information, and we sincerely apologize to Red Bull Racing, Max Verstappen, and the entire Formula 1 community for any distress our statements may have caused."
Max, having withdrawn from the limelight during the investigation, returned to Red Bull Racing with a mixture of relief and determination.
The racing community, having weathered the storm of controversy, was left to reflect on the implications of baseless allegations and the impact they can have on the integrity of the sport.
But you two were far from everywhere. Far from the world of racing, in your world.
In Monaco, you were at Max's house overlooking the azure waters. The racing season had come to an end, and the echoes of the dramatic year lingered.
"I never thought we'd make it through," Max confessed, his eyes meeting yours on the balcony.
"Neither did I," you replied, a sense of shared resilience in your gaze.
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow on the scene. Max wrapped his arm around you, pulling you closer. "But here we are, stronger than ever."
It was race day. The Bahrain Grand Prix. Max and you were successfully navigating the ups and downs of your life together.
After the post-qualifying interview, Max pulled you away from the lively press room to a secluded, dimly lit room. He pushed you against the wall, sending a shiver through your body.
"So, Y/N, how about letting me win this time?" Max's words, warm against your ear, sent a rush of heat through you.
"In your dreams," you retorted.
Max's grin broadened, "This is going to be so much fun." Without hesitation, he pulled you into a kiss that defied the confines of the shadowy room. It was a fiery blend of desire and an energy that left you breathless.
When the kiss finally broke, Max locked eyes with you, a mischievous glint shining.
"Ready, partner?"

Racing Hearts - Part 7
Pairing : Max x fem! driver/reader
it was the best of times, it was the worst of crimes (this would be the second last part of this series. i hope you enjoy it!)
Tumblr media
The rooftop breeze played with your hair as Max stared into your eyes. His expression softened, and a vulnerability you hadn't seen before appeared in his gaze.
"Y/N," he began, his voice tinged with sincerity, "I need to be honest with you. I let my insecurities get the better of me this season. The pressure to win, to be the best, it clouded my judgment. I pushed you away because I was scared. Scared that I wasn't enough, scared that I would lose you."
Your heart ached at his confession. "Max, you don't have to be perfect. I don't need you to be. I just need you to be honest with me."
He took a deep breath, his gaze unwavering. "I really like you, Y/N. More than I ever thought I would. But I was so afraid of messing things up that I ended up doing just that."
A soft smile played on your lips. "Max, I forgive you. We all have our flaws, our moments of weakness. What matters is how we learn from them."
Relief flickered across Max's face as he reached for your hand. "I promise, Y/N, I'll do better. I'll be better for you."
As the two of you shared a quiet moment, a news notification on your phone cut through the atmosphere. The headline read, "Toto Wolff Takes Allegations of Cheating by Red Bull to FIA, Calls for Investigation."
The reality of the situation hit you like a punch to the gut. Toto Wolff, fueled by rivalry and a desire to see Red Bull fall, had escalated the situation to the governing body of Formula 1.
The next day, the paddock buzzed with tension as news of the investigation spread like wildfire. As you and Max prepared for the upcoming race, a shadow fell across your path. Toto Wolff approached with a determined stride, his face a mask of determination.
"Well, well, if it isn't the star-crossed lovers of the paddock," Toto sneered, casting a derisive glance between you and Max.
Max shot him a glare, but you held a steadying hand on his arm. "What do you want, Toto?"
Toto leaned in, his voice low and menacing. "I hope you enjoyed your celebration, because it might be your last. The investigation is underway, and I'll make sure justice is served."
Max's jaw clenched, but you maintained a calm demeanor. "If there's nothing to find, Toto, then justice will prevail. But we won't let your personal vendetta tarnish our achievements."
Toto laughed dismissively. "Personal vendetta? I'm just ensuring fairness in the sport, Max. We can't have cheaters running rampant."
You took a step forward, meeting Toto's gaze with unwavering resolve. "We haven't cheated, Toto. And you know it. This is about your pride, not the integrity of the sport."
Toto's eyes narrowed, and he pointed a finger accusingly. "Red Bull's sudden dominance threatens Mercedes. We can't let them take the spotlight. I won't stand by and watch our legacy crumble because of some upstarts."
Max's patience wore thin, and he stepped between you and Toto. "Enough of your games, Toto. We're not afraid of your threats. Let the investigation run its course, and we'll be proven innocent."
Toto scoffed, shooting one last venomous look your way before turning on his heel and walking away. The paddock was abuzz with whispers, eyes following the confrontation between Red Bull and Mercedes.
With hands intertwined and a shared look of unwavering determination, Max whispered, "Whatever comes our way, we'll face it together—champions on and off the track."

Racing Hearts - Part 6
pairing : max x fem!reader/driver
will this be the end of your great war?
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5
Tumblr media
“Y/N is the winner of the 2024 Championship! What a season she has had. One that goes down in history!”
You had done it!!
As you brought the car to a stop in the designated winner's platform, the crowd's cheers washed over you like a tidal wave. You could feel the weight of the moment, the culmination of months of hard work, determination, and an unquenchable thirst for victory. As you emerged from the cockpit, the crowd's cheers crescendoed, blending with the delighted cries of your team.
Racing toward your team, you were engulfed in a sea of hugs, high-fives, and congratulations. The team, mechanics, engineers – everyone shared in the euphoria of triumph. It was a moment that they would all cherish for a lifetime.
The moment you’d been waiting for had finally arrived. You stood on the podium, your heart beating faster with each passing second, as they awarded you the trophy which you lifted with such grace and jest. The feeling of happiness and accomplishment was overwhelming, but deep down, you knew that something was missing. You kept stealing glances at Max, hoping that he would say something to you. However, he seemed to maintain a distance, and you couldn’t help but feel a little sad.  His warning echoed in your mind. He must be hating you now.
Though you had heard him mention your name during the interview, and your heart skipped a beat. " Yeah, it was a fun race. Y/N made it really tough and interesting. A well-deserved win. Congratulations to her." His words filled you with a sense of pride and happiness, but it wasn’t enough.
As the champagne bottles popped open, and the music filled the air, you started hearing the crowd chanting "KISS! KISS! KISS!". It broke your heart because you knew that it would never happen. The disappointment almost made you want to leave the podium and hide somewhere.
But then, out of nowhere, someone turned you around. "Congratulations!" Max said to you, and before you knew it, he kissed you passionately. In that moment, everything else faded away - all the past fights, the misunderstandings, the hurt, the pain - it all melted away. You feel the warmth of his embrace, and how much you missed it.
As you parted, Max offered you a rare smile.
After the celebration had cooled off, you stealthily slipped into Max's room, your footsteps echoing your simmering frustration. You stormed into his room.
"What the hell, Max!" you burst out, each word laced with resentment. "You threaten me one day and kiss me the next. Am I a joke to you?" The words spilled from your lips in a relentless torrent, your anger obvious.
Max rose from his chair, a determined stride bringing him closer. You instinctively took a step back, maintaining a wary distance as he continued his approach. The room seemed to shrink, closing in on the escalating confrontation.
"You know, Y/N," Max said, a sarcastic smirk playing on his lips, "life's a bit like a race. Full of unexpected turns, and sometimes you just have to go with the flow." His words hung in the air, a blend of nonchalance and underlying meaning, adding fuel to the fiery exchange.
"What the fuck does that even mean!" you exclaimed, frustration etched on your face. Max's response was a lean-in, his words a whispered retort. "Nothing. Congratulations. You can go celebrate now. Don't waste your time with me; Lando must be waiting for you." The barb landed, intensifying your anger.
"Really? Are you really doing this? For someone who is so smart on the track, you sure are equally stupid off it!" you shot back, your words sharp as daggers. Max's perplexed "What?" only fueled your fire.
"It's none of your business, but Lando is just a friend. And if you were so jealous of me being with him, you shouldn't have let me go in the first place," you declared, your voice teetering on the edge of breaking. "I wasn't jealous. I only wanted to focus on the championship," Max tried to defend himself, his words a feeble attempt to douse the growing flames.
"Your eyes can never lie, Max. And I hate that you didn't find me worthy enough to share your doubts with. You never do things right!" you blurted out, tears mingling with the fiery intensity. Pushing him away, you swung open the door, leaving the room.
A party was arranged to celebrate your and the team's success. Red Bull had won the Constructors Championship, and a 1-2 position for you and Max was all but confirmed. The celebration took place in a club, with you donning your best black dress and perfect makeup. As you entered, cheers erupted, drinks were called, and someone from the team pulled you onto the dance floor. Everything felt right until you spotted Max standing in a corner with a drink in hand, his eyes fixed on you.
You stopped dancing, and your gaze locked. Tension filled the room, and people started to notice. Max placed his drink on the table and started walking toward you. Time seemed to slow down, and he stopped right in front of you, dangerously close.
Your heart was pounding in your chest as you asked Max, "What are you doing?" The anticipation was palpable in your voice, and you couldn't wait to see what he had in store. "Doing things right," he replied, grabbing your face in his hands and kissing you passionately. The entire club erupted in cheers, and the music blasted through the speakers. People started recording the moment, capturing the pure excitement and joy in the air. As Max's lips met yours, you felt like you were on top of the world. This was the Max you'd missed so much - the one who could make you feel alive with just one touch. Despite all the time you'd spent apart, you couldn't help but feel happy to have him back in your arms.
As you broke apart, Max whispered in your ear, "Wanna go somewhere quiet?"

Racing Hearts - Part 5
pairing : max x fem! driver/reader
it's the race. no mistakes this time.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
Tumblr media
The dim light in the storage room painted shadows across Max's face as he cornered you, his presence looming. His eyes, once warm, now held a glint of intensity, and his hands, which once felt comforting, now gripped with an undeniable force. His gaze penetrated deep, and the room seemed to shrink with the weight of unspoken emotions.
"It's this headstrong nature of yours that I really like," Max uttered, his voice dropping into a low, serious tone. The compliment hung in the air, both sincere and unsettling.
"But we can't have two winners. You pull a foolish trick in the next race, and you will regret it," he whispered, the words sending a shiver down your spine. The proximity, the seriousness in his eyes, left you momentarily breathless.
Then, as abruptly as he had cornered you, Max released his grip, letting you go. The door closed behind him, leaving you alone in the room. The echoes of his words lingered, and the contrast between the current tension and the shared bond of a few weeks ago felt like an emotional whiplash, almost breaking you down.
The Mexico Grand Prix loomed ahead. This was the race. No mistakes.
As you slid into the sleek cockpit, you caught Max's piercing gaze. His eyes, once warm, were now cold, sending a shiver down your spine. You couldn't afford to let his intensity unsettle you; the race demanded your full focus.
The lights dimmed, and the engines roared to life. The race commenced, the cars hurtling down the track in a synchronized dance of power and precision. Pit stops unfolded, tires screeched on asphalt, and the fierce competition played out in each carefully calculated maneuver.
The Mexico Grand Prix, notorious for its high-altitude challenges, became a theater of strategy and skill. The commentators narrated the unfolding drama, dissecting every move with fervor.
"Here in Mexico, the stakes are high, and the racers are relentless. Verstappen and Y/N are neck and neck, trading positions like seasoned gladiators."
The race progressed, each lap intensifying the struggle for supremacy. As the final laps approached, your heart raced with the anticipation of the imminent showdown. Max, fueled by the warning he'd delivered earlier, clung to your tail, ready to exploit any vulnerability.
Approaching the last lap, the tension reached its zenith. The commentary box crackled with excitement.
"This is it, folks! The Mexico Grand Prix has delivered an edge-of-the-seat experience. Y/N and Verstappen are on a collision course, the finish line drawing near. Hopefully, this race gives us our champion."
The cars thundered down the straight, and Max, with the aid of DRS, closed in. Wheel to wheel, the race entered a heart-stopping crescendo.
In the cockpit, you held the steering wheel tightly with determination. Beside you, Max's car loomed, threatening to tip the scales with each passing second. The finish line lay ahead, a ribbon waiting to crown the victor. The crowd was on the edge of the seat.
Who could cross it first?

Racing Hearts- Part 4
Pairing : Max x fem!reader/driver
it's fun when two enemies turn into lovers? but what happens when those two lovers are back to being enemies?
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
Tumblr media
After that race, the following weeks were filled with an icy silence between you and Max. Interviews became a thing of the past as both of you were determined to focus on the championship.
In a flashback, when a persistent reporter dared to ask Max about the incident, his response was dismissive and defensive. "I don't see what the problem is," he retorted with a nonchalant shrug. "If Y/N has an issue, maybe she should focus on learning to race properly."
The nature of his response only fueled the animosity between you and Max, deepening the chasm that had formed.
Weeks passed, and it was the Singapore Grand Prix. The glittering lights of Singapore's nightlife painted the city with a vibrant glow. You took to the club to forget both about the race, and Max.
The club was alive with pulsating music, and you and Lando were in the center of it all, lost in the rhythm of the dance floor. Lando's fluid moves and confident charm made it impossible not to follow his lead. The playful banter between you two created a magnetic energy that seemed to draw everyone in, but little did you know that turmoil was brewing in the shadowy corners of the club.
As the beat intensified, Lando pulled you into a spin, his eyes locked onto yours. "You know, Y/N, dancing with you is almost as exhilarating as a race. Maybe even better," he said with a cheeky grin.
You laughed, enjoying the carefree moment in Lando's company. "Well, maybe you should consider a career change, Lando. Dancing suits you."
Meanwhile, Max watched from the bar, his eyes glued to the scene on the dance floor. His jaw clenched, his fists tightened as he gripped the edge of the counter. Anger simmered beneath the surface, and hurt lingered in the depths of his gaze.
Lando, oblivious to Max's scrutiny, continued to lead you through the dance floor. He spun you again, drawing you in closer. "You know, Y/N, I've always wondered what it's like to dance with the competition," he teased, his eyes glinting with mischief.
You smirked, feeling a twinge of guilt but relishing the temporary escape from the complexities of your rivalry with Max. "Well, wonder no more, Lando. Here we are."
The music soared, and as the dance floor embraced the rhythm, Max, overwhelmed with a cocktail of emotions, made a decision. He pushed away from the bar, leaving the club without a word, the door closing behind him with a heavy thud.
You and Lando decided to stay back for a little vacation in Singapore.
You won the Grand Prix. As the vacation unfolded, you both decided to embrace the break from the high-stakes world of racing. From quirky cafes to scenic spots, your Instagram stories painted a picture of a budding relationship, fueling the already intense debate among fans.
One afternoon, as the sun dipped below the skyline, you and Lando sat by the waterfront. The city lights reflected in the water, creating a serene ambiance. You took a moment to address the elephant in the room.
"Lando, I need to be clear about something. This vacation, these moments we're sharing, it's about friendship for me," you said, your tone sincere.
Lando nodded a genuine smile on his face. "I get it, Y/N. No pressure. Friends it is."
The understanding between you two laid the foundation for a genuine connection of friendship.
The fans, however, remained divided. Some were thrilled by the seemingly lighter and more carefree dynamic, while others deemed it a strategic move to distract from the racing drama between you and Max.
The next race, the Japanese Grand Prix, was the championship decider. You had waited all your life for this. The efforts of the years, and your parents’ sacrifices, all were waiting to be paid off.
Back at Milton Keynes, you unexpectedly ran into Max. As Max approached, his eyes held a storm of emotions. "We need to talk, Y/N," he said, his voice edged with urgency.
Your response, however, was laced with biting sarcasm. "Oh, do we now? Must be something groundbreaking you want to share, Max."
He sighed, attempting to keep his composure. "This isn't helping us, Y/N. We're teammates, whether you like it or not."
A scoff escaped your lips. "Teammates? Funny way to put it when you're so quick to throw me under the bus."
The corridor echoed with the unresolved tension, the weight of unspoken words hanging heavily between you and Max. It was a clash of wills, a collision of egos, and neither was willing to yield.
Max, sensing the futility of the moment, tried once more. "We can't keep racing like this. It's affecting the team."
You just scoffed and walked away. The sparks of conflict remained, unresolved and simmering beneath the surface, ready to erupt at the slightest provocation.
Race day in Japan arrived, and the championship decider. The atmosphere was full of excitement as the lights went out. The race was intense, with wheel-to-wheel battles and adrenaline-fueled maneuvers. In a crucial corner, you and Max found yourselves locked. You tried to turn, but it was too fast. It ended in a collision, both of you out of the race, and a red flag waving in the air.
“You never know what you will get to see in Formula 1. This was the race where we would have had our champion. But both contenders are out of the race!”
Entering the garage, Max took your hand, leading you to a private space. The storm in his eyes matched the storm in his heart as he unleashed his frustration.
"You fucker. You cost me my championship!" Max spat, the frustration etched across his face, his usually calm demeanor shattered by the intensity of the moment.
This wasn't the Max you had cooked dinner with. It wasn't the Max who had made you laugh. It certainly wasn't the Max who had seemed to genuinely like you.
"Do you honestly expect an apology? You, of all people, took me out of the race! I could already be a champion right now if it weren't for your reckless move," you retorted, anger flashing in your eyes, matching the fire in Max's gaze.
Max's accusation sliced through the air like a dagger, "This was your plan all along, wasn't it? To use me? And now you are fucking Lando?"
"You're an asshole!" Tears welled up in your eyes, a mix of frustration, hurt, and anger cascading down your cheeks.
"I shouldn't have trusted you," he said in a defeated voice, his accusation hitting you like a punch to the gut.
"If that's how you see me, fine. But brace yourself, Max. In the next race, there won't be any mistakes, and mark my words, that championship trophy will have my name on it," you declared defiantly before storming out of the room.
But he caught up, pulling you into a dark store room.

Racing Hearts - Part 3
Pairing : Max Verstappen x fem! reader/ driver
max and y/n are only growing closer. they like each other. but would that be enough?
Part 1 | Part 2
it's a little long this time, i got carried away ;) your comments and support mean a lot, they motivate me to keep writing :)
Tumblr media
Max and your unprecedented range of events were further heightened by the media. Everyone talked about you two. This wasn’t rivalry or friendship. This was something the world of Formula 1 had never witnessed before.
Instead of shying away from the media frenzy, you decided to face it head-on, braving a whirlwind of interviews, appearances, and photo shoots.
As the interviews rolled on, the playful banter between you and Max took on a life of its own, stealing the show every time. One moment that had everyone in stitches was when an interviewer asked about your daily routine. With a sly grin, you shot Max a mischievous look before answering, "Well, it usually starts with me crushing Max at some virtual racing on our gaming consoles. He's got nothing on me when it comes to video games."
Max playfully rolled his eyes, "Yeah, right. I let you win, it's called being a gentleman."
You couldn't help but laugh, "A gentleman who can't handle losing, more like it."
From there, the conversation took off, touching on everything from your favorite travel destinations to your go-to karaoke songs. When Max couldn't resist teasing you about your high notes, you fired back, "Oh, please. You're just jealous that I can hit those notes better than you hit the apex."
The interviews may have been hectic, but with Max by your side, you were having the time of your life. Laughter became a constant companion, with inside jokes forming during every appearance. Fans started to notice the chemistry that went beyond mere rivalry.
The whirlwind continued with a series of photoshoots, where the chemistry between you and Max translated effortlessly onto film.
A photoshoot in progress, capturing moments frozen in time. You and Max couldn’t help but turn it into a playground of laughter. The photographer took a break, and Max seized the opportunity to unleash his mischievous side. As soon as the lens turned away, he pulled faces that ranged from exaggerated expressions of surprise to comically pouting lips. Your attempts to keep a straight face fail miserably, and you burst into uncontrollable laughter.
"Max, seriously, can you tone it down for a moment?" you plead through giggles.
He feigns innocence, "What? I'm just adding a touch of drama."
The photographer returns, oblivious to Max's brief stint as a comedic actor. However, you can't hold back your laughter, and the moment is captured on film - a snapshot of the behind-the-scenes hilarity.
As you both reviewed the photos later, there was a shared sense of satisfaction – not just from the stunning images but from the genuine joy that radiated through each frame. The glossy images weren't just snapshots of professional racers; they were windows into something that had blossomed amidst the high-stakes world of Formula 1.
The marketing machine wasn't satisfied with just interviews and photoshoots; soon, Red Bull Racing suggested a joint podcast to delve even deeper into the personalities of their star drivers.
Max grinned, savoring the opportunity to steer the conversation toward more personal territories. "Alright, Y/N, let's make it interesting. If you could relive any moment of your life, what would it be?"
You raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the unexpected turn. "That's a tough one. Maybe a childhood memory. You know, the carefree days before racing became my entire world. How about you, Max?"
He leaned back, adopting a thoughtful expression. "I'd probably go back to my first race win. The rush of emotions, the taste of victory."
It was your turn now, “Any race that is your favorite?”
"Remember that one race in Monaco?" he mused, a playful glint in his eyes.
You grinned, "Oh, how could I forget? It's not every day you get kissed in front of the entire world."
Max leaned in, his lips dangerously close to your ear, "And yet, here we are, still making headlines."
As the race weekends unfolded, the media attention showed no signs of waning. Every shared podium appearance, every victorious celebration, and even the occasional post-race kiss fueled the narrative further.
“We had my shoey. And now Max and Y/N’s kisses seem to be a new tradition. You know I’m all up for it. If I’m on the podium, I’ll be kissing Max too.” Daniel said playfully in an interview.
During a particularly tense race at Spa-Francorchamps, you and Max found yourselves wheel-to-wheel in a fierce battle for the lead. The high-speed duel captivated fans, but what happened after the race added an unexpected twist to the tale.
In the cool-down room, Max approached you, a genuine smile on his face. "You pushed me out there. Good race."
You grinned, "Likewise. But what was with that risky move at Eau Rouge? You almost sent me off the track."
He chuckled, "Gotta keep you on your toes. Can't let things get too predictable."
Needless to say, your cheeks turned red fast.
Amidst the chaos of media attention, race weekends, and public scrutiny, you and Max found a moment of respite in the city where it all began – Monaco.
The evening started at Max's house, a chic and cozy penthouse overlooking the harbor. Soft jazz music played in the background. The scent of a delicious homemade meal wafted through the air, as you and Max stood side by side in the well-equipped kitchen, aprons on, ready to embark on a culinary adventure.
"I hope you're prepared for a taste of my secret recipe," Max teased, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he handed you a chopping board.
"Secret recipe? Should I be worried?" you replied with a playful smirk, taking the chopping board from him.
"Okay, maybe 'secret recipe' was a bit of an exaggeration," Max admitted, his laughter echoing through the kitchen. "But I promise, it'll be the best pasta you've ever had."
The aroma of the simmering sauce filled the air, blending with the smooth jazz playing in the background.
While chopping vegetables and stirring pots, Max stole a playful glance at you. "You know, Y/N, I've never had this much fun in the kitchen before."
You smiled, with a playful glint in your eyes.
As the final touches were added to the meal, you and Max set the table, the anticipation building for the culinary masterpiece you had created together.
After dinner, you sat on the balcony. The night was beautiful and calm.
As a gentle breeze rustled, Max reached for your hand, his touch conveying a silent assurance that, at this moment, it was just the two of you against the world.
"You know," Max said with a soft smile, "I never thought cooking together could be this much fun."
"Surprising, isn't it? Maybe we've discovered a hidden talent for culinary collaboration," you replied, intertwining your fingers with his.
He chuckled, "Or maybe it's just the company that makes it special."
And then, in a tender yet passionate moment, Max leaned in, his eyes locking onto yours. "You know, Y/N," he murmured, "there's something magical about moments like these."
You felt your heartbeat quicken, a gentle flush warming your cheeks. "And to think only a couple of months ago we were hell-bent on tearing each other apart " you teased.
As his lips met yours, the world outside the penthouse faded away.
It wasn’t like those kisses you had before. They were fueled by adrenaline. But here it was just pure calm, and genuine happiness to be with each other.
But a storm was brewing quietly.
Headline: "Max Verstappen's Soft Side: Is Y/N Taking Advantage?"
In recent weeks, Max Verstappen's performance on and off the track has raised eyebrows among fans and pundits alike. The usually fierce and competitive driver seems to have softened, and many speculate that Y/N’'s influence is the cause. As their unexpected relationship unfolds, questions arise about whether she's leveraging their connection for personal gain. With Y/N now on the verge of a potential championship victory, concerns grow that Max's focus on the track may be compromised, jeopardizing his chances at the championship.
Max sat alone in his dark room, his anxious eyes glued to the screen of his phone as he scrolled through the endless stream of news articles. The more he read, the more uncertain he felt, and his mind began to race with worst-case scenarios. The words on the screen seemed to taunt him with their tone, and he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by doubt and fear.
Suddenly, his phone rang, shattering the eerie silence of the room. He saw that it was you calling, and his heart raced with anticipation. Should he answer? The temptation was too great to resist, but he couldn't bear the thought of what might come next, so he hit the reject button.
His doubts had won.
It was race day.
“Max is back! Oh Y/N would not have liked that. Hurts being taken out from the race by your own boyfriend.”

Racing Hearts - Part 2
A Max Verstappen Imagine
Part 1
pairing : max x fem! reader/driver
the aftermath of their unexpected kisses is driving the racing world crazy. and y/n can't help but fall for him.
please lmk if you want this to be a series!
Tumblr media
The night air was filled with anticipation as you and Max stayed there, lingering in the aftermath of the unexpected kiss. As days passed, you found yourself inexplicably attracted to Max in a way that surpassed the excitement of the racetrack. The articles and headlines about your growing connection were impossible to ignore, and soon, even you were caught up in the romance that they portrayed.
Snippets from articles read,
"From fierce rivals to unexpected lovers, Y/N and Max's story is straight out of a Hollywood script. Once a battleground, the racetrack is now the backdrop for their burgeoning romance."
"Fans can't get enough of the unexpected chemistry between Y/N and Max. Is it love or a strategic move to keep the competition on track?"
"In a surprising turn of events, the racetrack has become the stage for a love story that transcends the finish line. Can these racing rivals make it work off the track?"
The tabloids and fans alike speculated on the authenticity of your relationship, dissecting every shared glance and lingering touch. Amid it all, you found yourself genuinely liking Max, a realization that both thrilled and terrified you. The thrill of racing was now accompanied by the happiness of stolen glances and the gentle brush of hands during press events.
It was the Silverstone weekend. Y/N went to a club at her friends’ persuasion. The dim, pulsating lights cast a hazy glow over the dance floor, where bodies swayed.
However, the vibrant energy took a swift downturn when you stumbled upon Max. His presence stood out amidst the chaotic dance floor, his sleek black attire making him an unmistakable figure in the sea of people. Your breath hitched as you caught sight of him, his arms wrapped around another girl, their laughter blending with the bass-heavy music.
At that moment, the world seemed to slow down, the rhythmic beats of the music fading into the background. Hurt and blindsided, you felt a sudden weight in your chest, and a knot tightened in the pit of your stomach.
His eyes met yours, you could see the realization dawning on his face. Without a word, you turned away, determined to escape the suffocating atmosphere.
Max hurried after you, pulling you back.
"Where are you going?" he asked a mix of concern in his eyes.
"Somewhere I don't bother you and your date," you replied, your anger palpable.
“Must have been so fun right? Playing with me.” your voice breaking.
Tears rolled down your cheeks, and you left without giving him a chance to explain.
Arriving at the hotel, you retreated to the solitude of your room, hoping the night would make you hurt less.
It was race day. And you wanted revenge. Max and you were in a very close fight for the championship, this win could give you an advantage. And you wanted it.
Rain was forecasted. The downpour was obviously in Max’s favor. You cursed your luck. But decided to give him an equally tough fight. You weren’t the kind to back down.
As the cars navigated the treacherous turns, the rain intensified, challenging even the most seasoned drivers. The spray of water, illuminated by the headlights, created a dazzling display that added a layer of drama to the already high-stakes competition. The race unfolded like a dance between machines and elements, a battle not only against each other but also against the relentless forces of nature.
Amidst the chaos, Max executed a surprising move, a strategic decision that played a pivotal role in helping you secure the lead.
“Y/N wins the British Grand Prix!”
The noise was deafening.
But you weren’t celebrating. A thousand questions ran through your head. Your eyes searched for Max. Making your way towards to garage, you stood in front of him.
So many things you wanted to know, but all you could say was, “Why?”
"You stopped talking to me, Y/N," Max began, his voice cutting through the chaotic symphony of the rain and engines. His gaze bore into yours, seeking understanding. "You just went away. I wasn't playing around, and I certainly wasn't on a date. She was just a fan, a little too eager. You have to believe me; I'd never mess with you like that. I think I like you too much for it."
As he spoke, Max's emotions played out on his expressive face. There was a hint of regret for the misunderstanding, a touch of vulnerability in the admission of liking you, and a determination to set things right.
In the midst of it all, the call to the podium interrupted, leaving Max's explanation hanging in the air.
On the podium, with rain still pouring down, the fans eagerly anticipated a kiss. The scent of wet asphalt mixed with the sweet champagne hung in the air as you stood next to Max. Your racing suits, now drenched, clung to your bodies, creating a scene that echoed the intensity of the race you both had just conquered.
In that charged moment, emotions swirled within you like a storm. The recent hurt and confusion from the club scene were still fresh, an ache in your chest that begged for resolution.
Seizing the moment, you took Max's face in your hands. Your eyes revealed a mix of emotions – anger and hurt were there, yes, but underneath it all, a burning desire to set things right, to redefine the narrative that had spiraled out of control. The kiss that followed caught Max off guard.
Surprised by your sudden boldness, Max responded with eagerness. He pulled you closer, the racing suits sticking to your bodies like a second skin. Max lifted you into the air, clearly showing how eager he was. As you hung in his arms, Fernando, sharing the podium, grabbed a bottle of champagne and poured it over both of you. The kiss continued, undeterred by the rain, and crowd.
As you broke away, you realized that you were no longer rivals; instead, you were something undefined, something that went beyond the racetrack.
The post-race interview was a chorus of questions about your evolving relationship.
"Y/N, Max, can you confirm if this is a real romance or just a publicity stunt?" one reporter asked.
You exchanged a glance with Max, and laughing you replied, "It's as real as the rain pouring down on us."
Another reporter jumped in, "How did this happen? Weren't you arch-rivals just a while ago?"
Max, a playful smirk on his face, responded, "Well, sometimes, the best races happen when you least expect them."
The other drivers were caught equally off-guard. Charles said in his interview, ”I thought I was the only one with a surprising performance today, but clearly, I underestimated those two.” And he chuckled while watching their kiss being replayed over and over again.
During the interview, your phone buzzed with a text from Max, "Meet me at 9?"
Your smile was his answer.
Clearly distracted, a reporter tried to grab Max’s attention, "So, are we going to see more public displays of affection in the future?"
Looking at you Max answered, "Well, you'll have to wait and see. We're just getting started."

Racing Hearts
pairing : max x fem! reader/driver
they both race for Red Bull and aren't on the best of terms. at a team party, things get a little out of control
please lmk if you want a part 2 to this.
Tumblr media
The night in Monaco was a chaotic symphony of celebration, champagne flutes clinking, and the low hum of laughter filling the penthouse. The room was awash with the soft glow of city lights, casting a seductive aura over the glamorous crowd. You stood on one side of the room, Max Verstappen on the other, the rivalry between you crackling like electricity in the air.
The Red Bull Racing team had always been a cauldron of competition, and both you and Max were at the forefront of the intense battles on the track. Racing under the same banner fueled the fire of rivalry, with the media always ready to paint the narrative of two fierce competitors fighting not only for the team but for personal glory.
Max, dressed in a sleek black ensemble, sauntered over with a sly grin. "Well, look who decided to join the celebration. Ready for a change of pace, or are you still dwelling on the track?"
Your eyes met a silent challenge passing between you. "I'm always up for a challenge, Max. But let's make sure this one's a fair race," you shot back, the edge in your voice matching the intensity in your gaze.
The night unfolded, a dance of bodies and glances, the music acting as a backdrop to the unspoken tension. Max, never one to back down, pulled you into the crowd on the dance floor. The beat of the music pulsed through your veins as you moved in rhythm, each step a subtle play in the ongoing game.
As the night progressed, Max's voice found its way to your ear over the music. "You know, we're not so different, you and I. Maybe this rivalry is just a cover for something else." His words hung in the air, a challenge and an invitation wrapped in one.
You shot him a skeptical look. "Don't try to psychoanalyze me, Max. We're here for a good time, not a therapy session." But beneath the dismissive tone, a flicker of something else lingered.
The crowd was going wild, and things were getting interesting. The rivalry had been fueled by the competition on the track, but as the night went on, it was getting harder to tell the difference between competition and something more exciting. Max, always the one to push the boundaries, leaned in and said, "You can deny it all you want, but I know there's more to this than meets the eye."
With a scoff, you replied, "You're delusional if you think there's anything more to us than racing." Yet, even as the words left your lips, the charged atmosphere spoke a different language.
Max's gaze held yours, a silent acknowledgment of the uncharted territory you were entering. "Let's drop the act, just for tonight," he murmured, his voice a low rasp that sent shivers down your spine.
As he closed the distance, time seemed to slow. The cacophony of the party retreated into the background, leaving only the symphony of your racing heartbeats. Max's lips met yours in a kiss that tasted of rivalry and a yearning you both dared not admit. The kiss held a tension, a push and pull that mirrored the battles on the racetrack. There was a rawness to it, as if every unspoken emotion, every unfulfilled desire, found expression in the meeting of your lips. As you pulled away, the intensity lingered, leaving a trail of unresolved emotions in the night air. Max's gaze held a lingering hunger, a silent acknowledgment of the uncharted territory you were entering.
The kiss was a statement, a testament to the unspoken connection that had woven itself between you two. But as the night ended, reality set in. The Monaco night had been an intoxicating interlude, but the racetrack awaited, and the rivalry would resume.
Days later, the roar of engines filled the air as you and Max prepared for the next race. The tension between you was palpable, a silent understanding that the Monaco night was a chapter suspended in time.
The race unfolded with a familiar intensity, each turn and straight echoing the unspoken competition between you and Max. Wheel to wheel, the competition reached a climax, the crowd watching with bated breath.
However, as the race neared its end, Max executed a daring move, squeezing in too close and forcing you to drop back. The frustration bubbled within you as you climbed out of the car, ready to confront Max.
He stood there, hair messy and sweat glistening on his forehead. Ready with your accusations, you walked towards him. But he caught you off guard, pulling you into a passionate kiss in front of the entire crowd. The cheers and gasps of the spectators became a symphony to your racing hearts.
As Max breaks the kiss, he looks into your eyes with a mischievous glint.
"Two wins for me today" he whispered in your ear.
With a playful wink, he walked away, leaving you in a mix of surprise and amusement.
In the post-race interview, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation as the journalists couldn't resist probing into the heated moment shared between you and Max. Max, always quick-witted, handled the questions with his signature charm.
Reporter: "Max, there was quite a stir after the Monaco Grand Prix party. Can you shed some light on the unexpected kiss with your fellow Red Bull driver?"
Max, smirking: "Well, you know, Monaco is known for its surprises, on and off the track. Sometimes you just have to take a detour from the usual victory celebration."
Laughter rippled through the pressroom, and Max's response earned a round of applause from some amused journalists. Meanwhile, you found yourself caught in the spotlight, blushing furiously at Max's clever deflection.
Another reporter chimed in: "Monaco magic, indeed. So, Y/N, if you had the chance, would you recreate that magical moment with Max?"
You felt the weight of their gaze, and for a moment, you hesitated. The room hung in anticipation, and you could almost hear Max and Lando suppressing their laughter. You attempted to dodge the question with a coy smile, "Well, you know, Monaco is known for its surprises. Can't predict what might happen next."
The interviewer pressed on, "But would you be up for it? A little rivalry romance on the track?"
You glanced at Max and Lando, who were now grinning like Cheshire cats, and let out an awkward chuckle, "I mean, who knows? It's a fast-paced world out there. Anything can happen."
Max leaned into the microphone, a mischievous glint in his eyes, "Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see, won't we?"
Lando chimed in with a playful smirk, "Monaco magic strikes when you least expect it, right, Y/N?"
You could feel the heat rising to your cheeks, and with a nervous laugh, you diverted the conversation, "Let's move on to another question, shall we?" The room erupted in laughter.
After the interview wrapped up, Max pulled you away from the lively press room to a secluded, dimly lit room. He pushed you against the wall, sending a shiver through your body.
"So, Y/N, how about letting me win next time?" Max's words, warm against your ear, sent a rush of heat through you.
"In your dreams," you retorted.
Max's grin broadened, "This is going to be so much fun." Without hesitation, he pulled you into a kiss that defied the confines of the shadowy room. It was a fiery blend of rivalry, desire, and an energy that left you breathless.
In the dimly lit room, Max's lips claimed yours with an intensity that ignited a fiery passion within. Each kiss felt like a dance of flames, sending your senses into a delightful frenzy. Max's hands, dominant and purposeful, traced the curves of your back, their touch urging you deeper into the heart of the moment.
When the kiss finally broke, Max locked eyes with you, a mischievous glint shining. "Looks like the rivalry just got a whole lot more interesting."

Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A chilly evening at Max's cozy home, lights casting a warm glow on the walls. Max and Y/N are cuddled on the plush couch, their laughter and the occasional purring of the cats creating a comforting atmosphere. The soft hum of the TV plays in the background.
Y/N: (teasingly) "Your cats seem to like me more than you do, Max."
Max: (grinning) "Well, maybe they know something I don't."
Y/N chuckles, leaning in for a kiss, but Max's expression shifts, clouded by the recent media storm.
Max: (sighs) "You know, sometimes I feel like they're right. Like I'm just a guy in a fast car."
Y/N: (softly) "Max, don't let them get to you. You're an incredible driver. Your dad would be proud."
Max: (looking away) "He always pushed me. Said I had to be the best. But lately, it feels like I'm drowning in expectations."
Y/N reaches out, taking Max's hand
Y/N: "My mom was the same. She pushed me to be strong, independent. But it's okay to lean on someone, Max. You don't have to carry the weight alone."
Max: (meeting her gaze) "I want to be the best, for him, for us. But it's hard."
Y/N: "You're already the best, Max. Not just on the track, but in here." She places her hand on his heart.
Max leans in, forehead touching Y/N's
Max: "I don't say it enough, but having you by my side... it makes all of this bearable."
Y/N: (smiling) "That's what partners are for, right?"
They share a lingering kiss, the connection deepening.
Days pass, their love evolving into a comfortable routine. However, the weight of schedules and the lack of spontaneity begin to strain their relationship.
Y/N, dressed in her black dress is enjoying a lively party with friends. Laughter fills the air as they gather in a chic rooftop bar, overlooking the city's skyline.
She runs into Lando.
As the night progresses, Y/N and Lando find themselves engrossed in conversation, reminiscing about races and sharing personal anecdotes.
Lando: "You and Max, huh? The power couple of the track. How's it going?"
Y/N: (grinning) "It's like navigating a racetrack blindfolded, Lando. Fast, unpredictable, and occasionally we hit a few bumps."
Lando: (teasingly) "Well, as long as you're not swapping helmets with anyone else."
Y/N laughs, her eyes flickering with a playful spark.
Y/N: "No helmet swaps, I promise. Just the usual chaos and occasional drama."
Lando: "Drama, you say? Spill the tea, Y/N. I'm all ears."
Y/N leans in, sharing a whispered detail about the media frenzy surrounding Max, her voice mixed with amusement and concern.
Lando: (raising an eyebrow) "Media troubles? That's a new one. But hey, Max can handle it, right?"
Y/N: (nodding) "He's trying, but sometimes the pressure gets to him. And honestly, I miss him when he's away practicing."
They clink glasses, the distant city lights providing a picturesque backdrop.
Lando: "Speaking of which, where is Max tonight? Training hard, I presume?"
Y/N: (sighing) "Yeah, he's in the zone. Sometimes I wish he'd take a breather, but the championship dreams are driving him."
The night unfolds, and Y/N finds herself torn between the joy of her friends' company and the absence of Max.
Later, when the party begins to wind down, Y/N receives a text from Max.
Max: Hey, how's the party? Missing you.
Y/N: It's good, but not the same without you. Miss you too.
Y/N returns to her hotel room, and Max is back from practice. The atmosphere is tense as they face each other.
Max: (looking at his phone) "Care to explain this?"
Y/N: (confused) "What are you talking about?"
Max shows her the viral picture – Y/N whispering into Lando's ear, smiles frozen in a moment of intimacy.
Max: "This, Y/N! People are saying you're cheating on me."
Y/N: (shocked) "What? Max, it's not what it looks like. Lando's a friend, and we were just talking. Someone must've misunderstood."
Max, fueled by the pressure of upcoming races and the online accusations, struggles to control his frustration.
Max: "Misunderstood? You're whispering into his ear! How do you expect me to feel, seeing this crap?"
Y/N: (defensive) "You know I'd never cheat on you, Max. This is ridiculous. We were just having a conversation. It was harmless."
Max, however, finds it hard to brush off the viral image.
Max: (angry) "Harmless? Do you know how it feels to see people question your relationship? To doubt if the person you care about is staying true?"
Y/N: (emotional) "I hate that you're hurting, Max. But I won't let baseless rumors ruin us. We need to trust each other."
Max, in a fit of frustration, paces around the room.
Max: "Trust? Easy for you to say. I'm out there pushing myself to the limit, and this is what I get in return?"
Y/N: (teary-eyed) "This isn't about trust issues, Max. It's about us, about weathering storms together. But if you can't handle that..."
The room falls silent, the weight of their words lingering in the air.
Max: (softening) "Y/N, I... I didn't mean to lash out. It's just, everything's getting to me."
Y/N: (whispers) "I get it, Max. But we can't let the world tear us apart. We have something real."
In a cozy, dimly lit restaurant in London, tucked away from the bustling streets. Max and Y/N sit across from each other, a mixture of emotions in the air.
Max: (nervously playing with his napkin) "Y/N, we've been through a lot. Ups and downs, fights and kisses. And I wouldn't change any of it for the world."
Y/N: (smiling softly) "Me neither. It's been a rollercoaster, but it's been our rollercoaster."
Max takes a deep breath, his eyes locked onto hers.
Max: "I've been thinking a lot about us, about our future. And, well, I can't imagine it without you."
Y/N: (curious) "Max, what are you...?"
Max interrupts her, getting down on one knee, a small velvet box in hand.
Max: "Y/N, I can't promise it'll always be easy. Hell, knowing us, it probably won't be. But I promise to be everything you need and more. Will you marry me?"
Y/N, surprised and overwhelmed, hesitates for a moment before a smile spreads across her face.
Y/N: (teasingly) "Max Verstappen, getting down on one knee? Never thought I'd see the day."
Max: (grinning) "Well, there's a first time for everything."
Y/N chuckles, her eyes sparkling with emotion.
Y/N: "Alright then, Max. You drive me crazy, but... yes, I'll marry you."
Max's face lights up with joy. He slips the ring onto her finger, and they share a passionate kiss, sealing their promise amid the romantic ambiance of the London night.
Max: "To us, Y/N. Ready for whatever comes our way?"
Y/N: "Ready as I'll ever be, Max."
They clink glasses, surrounded by the warmth of their love and the city's twinkling lights, ready to face the new chapter they've just written together.

A Max Verstappen Imagine
Pairing : Max Verstappen x fem! reader
it’s mostly fluff, with a few kisses, banter, fights, and a hope that they’ll get through it all❤️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To say she was nervous was an understatement. She had dreamed of this moment all her life. As she walked to the motorhome, she tried to calm her nerves. She was intelligent and confident, and she was going to fit in just fine. The weather was a little hot for her taste, her Red Bull t-shirt was going to be soon drenched in sweat if she stood in the Bahrain sun any longer.
“Y/N! So glad you found your way out!” her team leader said. A few faces were familiar, she had interned with them before, but now she had retired as a permanent member of the team. A mechanical engineer, she was going to work as a Structures Analyst. The job was demanding, yet thrilling. And, she was finally going to work with the race team. No mistakes are all she wished for. The Bahrain GP was on Sunday, barely three days from now. She was introduced to the remaining team and jotted down to work.
However, her eyes searched for the Golden Boy. She wouldn’t admit it but the drivers were also part motivation for her along with the engineering marvel cars. It was her daydream to run into Charles Leclerc on the paddock and have an awkward interaction, one thing would lead to another, and before you knew it, they would be madly in love. She smiled to herself as she thought about it. But getting distracted wasn’t going to help. The free practice was going to start in about an hour, which meant work was coming her way. She had to be aware, observe, and analyze the data so that the Golden Boy crosses the line first on Sunday.
It was lunch break when she ran into someone on her way to the table. The coffee spilled both on her and the person she had bumped into. “Fucking hell!” the man said. The coffee was hot, and it had burnt her hand a little, but the man got the full blow on his chest. She raised her eyes to apologize. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. It can’t be him! The blue eyes looked angry. “I’m so sorry Max,” she said quickly. “Yeah next time please keep your eyes open while walking,” he replied and then pushed her aside and continued walking. What a jerk! She thought to herself. She cleaned up the mess and retired to her desk, hoping the free practice would take her mind off it.
The free practice was average. Max was angry with the performance. Checo also complained a little. This meant she was going to be here till the morning. After probably what seemed like the most exhausting and exciting hours, she left the motor home. She was drowsy and extremely tired. She needed those three hours of sleep permitted by the leader. On her way out, she bumped into someone again. “Oh Lord! Are you fucking blind?” the voice said. “Hey! I’m sorry. And maybe you can learn to talk politely,” the words left her mouth without her realizing. “Oh really. What am I supposed to say? Sorry Ma’am, you walk like it’s your road, I made a mistake by coming in between,” Max said sarcastically. She had had enough.” Look. I said I was sorry. You don’t have to be such a bitch. I have spent the last nine hours improving the car with the team. I know you don’t like to be polite, but at least don’t act like a jerk!” she said in a breath and walked away.
God! She hated him. The Golden Boy was ruining her first day at work. On her way to the hotel, she scrolled through Twitter, liking every Charles appearance, and post there was. That did improve her mood significantly. Work was going to be difficult, especially when it was so easy to bump into the lion. A few races had passed. It was the Monaco GP this weekend. Max Verstappen had won every fucking race till now. But that did not improve their dynamic at all. He constantly hurt her pride, so she bruised his ego. The hate was mutual. The interactions they had had so far were bitter. Neither trying to back down and always tearing the other person apart. The bitter banter continued during strategy meetings. Y/N would present her analyses, and Max, ever the provocateur, couldn't resist the urge to undermine her efforts. "You sure you're looking at the right data? Wouldn't want us all going in circles," he remarked with a dismissive tone, casting doubt on her competence.
Y/N, unyielding, retorted, "I'd be more worried about your ability to follow a straight line on the track. Might help if you focused on driving instead of insulting."
The worst part was, now he knew her name.
She hoped to never run into him again, but that meant to leave this job. And she wasn’t going to leave because of that jerk. She kept her head low and did keep her eyes open while walking. Needless to say, the work kept her busy, and her team appreciated her work ethic. “Y/N do you want to join us for a little party in the evening? The whole team is coming.” Ava, a colleague of hers asked. “Sure! I‘ll be there!” she replied. A social event in Monaco seemed exciting. The harbor looked so pretty in the evening and the restaurant overlooked the beautiful sea. Her little black dress for this moment. She was here for fun and nothing was going to ruin it. Until she saw him. He looked different. Nice different. It was probably the missing Red Bull clothing that almost felt like a part of his skin. But the sky blue shirt complemented his eyes. He looked very handsome. She turned away. Was it the weather? Why was she feeling so hot suddenly? She excused herself and made her way to the balcony. Fanning herself, she took deep breaths. “Not throwing up are you? Don’t ruin the sea with your sick!” Max said smirkingly. “Oh I’m sure, it was ruined the day you set foot here,” she tried to harm but failed. Had he done something to his hair? He smelled heavenly too. “Haha. You don’t look so shabby today,” Max tried to make amends. “You don’t look half bad either. Is it the missing Red Bull clothes? Didn’t it hurt to rip your skin?” Y/N added. Max leaned in closer and whispered,” Lord why do you have to be so hurtful? I am just trying to be nice here.” She wanted to believe him. But she also liked teasing him. “Oh yeah? And why are we so saintly today? The air, or the drinks to be blamed?” she asked. Max looked straight into her eyes. His face was close. Or not. She wasn’t tall enough to decipher. He moved closer. There was laughter from the rooms within. Someone was going to see them here. She tried to move away and turned. Max held her hand and pulled her back. They were too close. She could feel his heart beating. “It's you. Y/N. No drink can ever make me compliment you.” Max said. She tried to read his eyes. They felt honest. Desperate. And he leaned in closer. Pressing his lips on hers. Neither pulled away. There was a loud sound from within. And Max stopped. He looked into her eyes and said,” So this shuts you up.”
She was back in the motor home. It was race day. She had always seen the grandeur of the Monaco GP on TV but she could finally experience it! She was excited and used it as a distraction to avoid thinking about the other night. Max Verstappen had kissed her. But nothing happened after that. She had pulled away from him and said, “No. This isn’t right. I don’t like you. Yes, maybe today you look perfect, and it was the need of the moment. But let’s forget about it.” And she walked away, disappearing from the party, and walking the streets of Monaco alone. She was really glad nobody had found out about that little incident, she was afraid that would jeopardize her job. But she kept revisiting that night every so often. “Y/N! I need the results for these simulations ASAP! There must be no mistakes,” her team leader ordered. She got out of her daze and started working. The race was going to start in an hour. Having been glued to the screen for more than four hours, she needed a break. She went to the coffee machine. While carrying the coffee, she remembered the first time she ran into Max. The hot coffee spilled over both of them, and those cold blue eyes. Fuck. Why couldn’t she stop thinking about him? She thought maybe it was an after-effect. That it would take time for her to move on. She was lost in her mind when Max came in the corridor from his room. No. She hadn’t seen him since they kissed, she hadn’t even waited for his answer. She felt selfish and guilty. Max looked at her and said, “Not going to spill that coffee again on me, are you? I don’t have a spare outfit either.” But he wasn’t being condescending. He was smiling. No. That wasn’t a good sign. He wanted to act nice and maybe be friends with her. But no. She despised him and one kiss was never going to change that. She looked at him and said, “No way. An arsehole once told me to keep my eyes open and walk.” And she walked away without a word. Why was she being so petty? He was just being a nice person and making amends. Although she always struggled when someone got way too close to her. She disliked being so vulnerable unless she was sure about that person of course. He wasn’t that. And in one moment of weakness, she had distanced herself from Max even more.
The summer break had started. Normally, this meant vacation for drivers, but for Y/N the work never stopped. And she liked it that way. It was all she had dreamt of and she was finally working with such cool minds. She was at Milton Keynes, along with the rest of her team. The break meant that they could study the car even more, and find areas of improvement for next year. She was happy to be away from Max. It felt like she could never escape him. Post her snide remark, there wasn’t much conversation between them, but she had felt his glances on her. Their eyes met frequently, and they held each other's gaze till someone backed down. Why were they always testing each other? She could never tell. The highlight of the summer vacation was probably Charles and the fan accounts that constantly updated his ventures. God! He looked hot in summer. She had seen him so frequently on track, but she never got the courage to go and talk to him.
It was a fine evening when Y/N was making her way home. She pressed for the lift and she stood frozen when it opened. Max was standing in the lift. Alone. Would it be rude if she didn’t step on? Maybe.  Keeping her pride aside she stepped into the lift. Their eyes met. She mumbled a low hi. “Oh! Now you are talking?” Max said. His voice had an edge. Anger perhaps. “What does that mean?” Y/N asked. He stepped closer. Oh no. It was happening again. “Max I told you this isn’t right. I could lose my job!” she almost pleaded. “ Bull shit! You are a coward. Running away every time you see me, and yet you look into my eyes like a lover. I fucking hate that I even think about you,” Max spitted. “I am not a coward. And yes maybe I might have a little crush on you. But see the reality, Max. It’s never going to work out for the good,” she said almost crying. The blue eyes looked stormy. She was scared of what he would say next. But the elevator had reached the parking and the doors opened. She tried to walk out first. But he stood in front blocking her way. “We’re not leaving till we’re done talking. You can’t keep running away every fucking time!” he thundered. The elevator doors closed. And he pressed the highest floor number. “Tell me why this won’t work, and I will let you go. And your fucking job doesn’t count because no, this won’t jeopardize it,” he commanded. Y/N took a few steps back, their eyes never leaving each other. “I… I… I…” she tried to find an answer. “Thought so,” he said as he grabbed her face with his hands and started kissing her. Passionately. She kissed him back as a single tear ran down her cheek. Things were going to get messy now, but at this moment maybe she could forget all about it. He pushed her against the door, as the walls she so carefully built to avoid him, came crashing down.
Days turned into weeks, and Y/N found herself reluctantly drawn into Max's world. Their dates were filled with laughter, shared interests, and an undeniable chemistry that seemed to defy their initial animosity.
Amid the twinkling lights of Barcelona, Max and Y/N found themselves caught in a moment of quiet connection. "You know, you're not as tough as you want everyone to believe," Y/N remarked, a playful glint in her eyes. Max shot her a smirk, the city's glow accentuating the curve of his lips. "Maybe, but at least I'm not pretending to be a cold hearted person who will kiss someone and leave." Y/N chuckled, "Touche. But there's more to you than this tough exterior. I can see it." Max arched an eyebrow, "Oh, can you now? What exactly do you see?"
"A person who's passionate, determined, and maybe a bit afraid of letting others see the real you," Y/N replied, her gaze holding his. Max's expression softened, and he sighed, "You're not entirely wrong. But don't get too comfortable analyzing me, Y/N. I might surprise you yet."
Their journey continued across different countries, accompanied by stolen kisses and whispered promises. Max proved to be surprisingly attentive, and Y/N found herself gradually lowering the walls she had built so meticulously.
It wasn’t always a smooth ride though.
The tension between Y/N and Max reached a boiling point during the Italian Grand Prix. Work consumed their time, and the struggle for the championship intensified. Late nights turned into early mornings, and the weight of responsibility strained their relationship.
It was a race weekend filled with high stakes, and the atmosphere in the paddock was charged. Y/N, buried under the weight of her responsibilities, felt the strain as she tried to balance the demands of her job and her evolving relationship with Max. Y/N, exhausted, confronted Max. "I'm here to help the team win, not to be your punching bag," she snapped, her patience wearing thin. Max, equally stubborn, shot back, "Well, maybe you should focus on doing your job instead of trying to prove something to me." The words hung in the air, poisoning the atmosphere. The intensity of the argument grew as frustrations, both personal and professional, intertwined. "I can't keep doing this. I won't be an afterthought in your life," she declared, storming out of Max's room, leaving behind a lingering silence.
Days passed in silence, each avoiding the other, until the tension became unbearable. Max, realizing he couldn't let pride destroy what they had, decided to make amends. Armed with a bouquet of Y/N's favorite flowers, he knocked on her hotel room door.
Y/N opened the door, not expecting him at all. Max stood there, his expression softening. "I messed up," he admitted.
She sighed, a mix of frustration and relief washing over her. "You think flowers will fix everything?"
Max stepped closer. "No, but I hope they're a start. Can we talk?"
Y/N hesitated but finally nodded. They settled into the room, and Max began, "I care about you, Y/N. More than I thought I would. I don't want us to fall apart over this."
She looked at him, torn between hurt and the lingering affection she couldn't deny. "Max, I can't keep being the second priority. I have a job, a career, and I can't let it crumble because of us." He took a deep breath, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I get it, Y/N. Let's find a balance. I'll try harder." As they talked through their concerns and fears, a newfound understanding emerged. Max left, promising to be more considerate, but little did they know that their world was about to be rocked unexpectedly.
A few days later, Max posted a casual photo of the two of them on Instagram. The picture was seemingly harmless, but the internet detectives quickly connected the dots. Speculation spread like wildfire, and Y/N's identity became a topic of heated debate.
Max, aware of the storm he had unintentionally unleashed, took to Instagram with a stern expression. "Leave her the f*** alone," he declared, his post garnering mixed reactions from fans.
Y/N, caught in the crossfire, faced the consequences of public scrutiny. Colleagues eyed her with uncertainty, and online trolls intensified their efforts to uncover every detail of her life. The pressure reached its peak, threatening to shatter the fragile normalcy they had built.
It took a toll on Y/N. It made her fearful of stepping out. She started cancelling their dates, and even wished Max would just start hating her for all of this to be over
But Max had had enough. He wasn’t let her run away again. Yes, he was being selfish, but he couldn’t bear to lose her. He stormed into her room one evening . "I’m not letting them ruin this for you," he said, sincerity in his eyes. "I care about you, Y/N, and I'll do whatever it takes to protect you from this madness. But you have to be brave too. I know I’m asking you a lot. But I really like you. I don’t wish to be parted from you."
Her eyes met his, a mixture of gratitude and apprehension swirling within. "Can you promise that this won't complicate things between us?" she asked, the gentle night breeze carrying the weight of unspoken fears. There was a pause, and then she added, "And what about when the championship pressure builds up? Will we withstand the storm together, or will it tear us apart?"
Max nodded. "I won't make promises I can't keep, Y/N. But I'll be damned if I let anything or anyone jeopardize what we have. We face it together, no matter how tough it gets. No sugarcoating, just real. Are you in?"
“Yes. I am,” Y/N assured.
The road ahead was uncertain, but at that moment, Y/N found solace in Max's commitment. The storm outside might rage, but in each other, they discovered a sanctuary amidst the chaos.

Honestly, the Dutch Anthem had become my relaxing music ig. I wish either I worry less, or someone brings f1 back. Although how 20 boys in vroom vroom cars will help my applications i have no idea
Idk about you guys but Charlos, lestappen and f1 was so comforting for me.
I’m currently super stressed about college applications and the fact that the professors aren’t submitting the LoRs on time. And I also have a super important presentation on Tuesday.
I feel it was nice to see them race on Sunday. It was the little piece of comfort in my really worrisome nature.
