seriously though
bucky says you can’t die if you’re wearing the wrong dog tags (“it’s just not allowed”), and it’s part-joke, part-superstition, part-something else he can’t name
they start trading dog tags before missions as a silent promise to each other that they’ll both make it back in one piece, and eventually, they just stop trading back. something about carrying bucky’s name against his skin makes steve feel safer, braver
when bucky falls he takes steve’s name with him into the abyss instead of his own
steve still has bucky’s name around his neck when they pull him out of the ice

Stellar Job Tumbler :/
You're totally keeping the porn bots out of my follower list. I absolutely didn't get this explicit picture of a naked woman on all fours in my email notifications this morning telling me "she" is following my blog. (The green scribble is to keep anyone else from being subjected to the great divide.)

Let's be very clear about something, the only pussy I want to see is my cat Finn. And face it xxxrebelsorcierexxx, he's better at posing than you.

+72 hrs Out, Covid Shot #2
It has been well over 72 hours since my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and pretty much all my side effects have cleared up. I didn't have anymore light-headedness after my post yesterday, I am blissfully headache free, and am no longer feeling abnormal fatigue. I did end up unintentionally taking two naps yesterday, I was that tired, so it did end up interfering with my normal activities. By this morning however that had cleared up. I still have a tiny bit of arm pain with certain movements or pressure, but the injection site isn't red and the ache is barely noticeable.
Overall, I've been good with the little side effects that I had, and the worst of it wasn't too bad. I'd definitely encourage people to get the vaccine as soon as they can. The potential side effects are worth it, and I'd say the same thing if I had worse ones than I did. I hope this series of posts might help in some way, make people a bit more comfortable with it if they're on the fence. I'm looking forward to the day when I can see my friends and family in person again. Something I'm one step closer to now that I've had my second shot, and others are slowly getting their chances to get vaccinated. Hope everyone is as safe, healthy, and stress free as possible.

48 Hrs Out, Covid Shot #2
Hey there peoples, it's been just about 48 hrs since I got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine and I'm still doing pretty good. I do still have some mild arm pain, though less than yesterday and no redness. It's still only with specific movements or pushing on/poking it. I've definitely been hit with the fatigue side effect. It hit last night and even with sleeping crappy the night before my tiredness level was more than it should've been. Today, despite going to bed early and getting up late I'm more tired than I should be.
It's not enough to affect my doing things, I just feel more tired than I should. Lots of yawning, lol.
Tumblr media
I also have another mild headache today, and even though I'm prone to headaches it's unusual to have two headaches in two days. So, I'm chalking this one up to side effects. The only other thing is I've had some random, brief bouts of light-headedness. The most inconvenient of which was during my shower last night before bed. I was unsteady for a moment and could have fallen if I didn't catch myself. Luckily, I did and it cleared up quickly so I was fine after that.
Even with the side effects I do have they're all mild, though inconvenient. I will definitely take mildly inconvenient over Covid any day. Last time my second day out from the shot was my worst side effect day, and I'm assuming that will be the case this time. I'll update you all tomorrow at 72hrs. Hope the rest of your day is stress free.

Covid Vaccine Shot #2
Hey everyone, I am roughly 24 hrs from my second Covid shot and I'm once again doing good. I have slightly more injection site pain in my arm than last time, but it is only with certain movements, my arm isn't red, and it's still pretty mild. More of a intermittent ache than anything. I was told the second shot is when more people have annoying side effects, I'm assuming this only goes for the Pfizer vaccine which is what I got. As for the others I have no idea if that's also the case. Other than that, at the moment, I have no other issues I can say is caused by the vaccine.
In the interest of full disclosure I do have a bit of a headache, but as I've said previously I'm very prone to them so I can't say for sure it's a side effect. I'm also a bit more tired than usual, but I've dealt with insomnia since I was about 15 and didn't sleep great last night. So, I again am hesitant to blame that on anything other than my wonky brain waking me up a bunch of times for no frakking reason. But, as fatigue is a side effect, it's at least possible the vaccine contributed to the tiredness I'm feeling, though not entirely likely.
Lastly, I logged in today (after not being on for a while) to make this post and found a few anons asking me where I got my shot the first time and how could people get an appointment. Please understand that I would love to help everyone in the world get vaccinated, but I was able to do so where I did only because I am a cancer patient. The cancer hospital where my oncologist is based out of is running a vaccine clinic only for existing cancer patients, so giving out the hospital name or contact info won't do you guys any good, sorry. I hope everyone who wants to is able to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
My own state had a bit of a cluster fuck of a roll out, though not as bad as others, and things are just now starting to get on track. Hopefully, every state will get things rolling well soon so we can start getting this shit under some semblance of control. Tune in tomorrow for my next update, I'll be posting every morning for the next few days to bring you all along on this vaccine journey.

Headcanon that Luke and Obi Wan got the money to pay Han Solo by selling the moisture farm at bargain-basement prices in Anchorhead without telling anyone that it was totally torched, and by the time anyone find out they were well off planet. Luke now has a reputation as one of Tattooine’s most famous con men despite the fact that it was Obi Wan who ran the con.

Covid Vaccine: Day 3
It is well over 72 hrs since my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and I'm still doing really well. The slight fatigue and minor headache of yesterday are gone. The little bit of injection site pain I had with movement is now gone. I still feel some soreness there if I press on it, but other than that it's fine. My arm never got red, just a little pink dot where the needle went in. Hopefully, the second dose will go just as smooth. I'll be doing this again for that one, so can keep coming on this journey with me. :)
I hope hearing about an honest positive experience will make people feel better. I get the hesitancy a lot of people have. When they first started talking about emergency approval, I was worried about rushed science. It takes time to do clinical trials, so rushing felt wrong. But, then I read the info from the CDC and listened to experts with way more knowledge than myself and got comfortable with it. If anything, this shows that with no obstructions scientific advancements an go at record speed. Maybe if we invested in science like this all the time I wouldn't have cancer, maybe no one would. Wouldn't that be something?

Covid Vaccine, Day 2
It is roughly 48hrs since I had my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine and I'm surprisingly still good. Generally, when there are unpleasant side effects to be had I get them, but with this not so much. I still have a tiny bit of injection site pain, super minor and only when I move certain ways, but no redness or anything else. I'm a bit more tired than usual, and I have a bit of a headache. However, I'm prone to headaches so it's entirely possible that's just me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Other than that I'm doing really good. The nurse who administered the shot told me more people have flu like side effects after the second shot than the first. So, when I get that in three weeks I'll do this again. Mostly, I just want people to see that there's every reason to get these vaccines, regardless of which one you're offered, because the benefits far out weigh the risks. Tune in tomorrow for the final installment of Vaccine Watch: Codex Edition.

Covid Vaccine, A Journey by Me
Yesterday, through the hospital my oncologist is attached to, I was able to get my first Covid shot. Specifically, in case you're wondering, the Pfizer vaccine. Being an immunocompromised cancer patient means, in my state at least, that I'm eligible. I thought that anyone curious, or nervous about side effects might be interested to know about my experience.
It's just under 24hrs since I got my first dose, and so far I'm good. No allergic reaction, something that stops being a danger after 3 hrs btw, though most people react really quick if they are allergic. I have some minor arm pain, mostly when I move certain ways but nothing too bad. My pain was worse with the flu shot tbh, though I know it can increase at any point, so we'll see. Other than that no side effects so far.
I was told side effects can pop up any time in the next three days, and that if they last beyond three days to call my doctor. I have two friends who are frontline workers, so they've gotten doses too. One is now fully vaccinated (except against the South African/Brazilian variant because they didn't exist when the Moderna one she got was made) and both times she had three days of miserable flu like symptoms. The other had a bad allergic reaction to the Pfizer vaccine, though to be fair to the vaccine he's got a metric shit ton of allergies so there was a decent chance that would happen regardless of which vaccine it was. I was super worried I'd be miserable in bed today with all kinds of rotten side effects but I'm fine, and according to the awesome nurse who gave me the shot that's the case for most people.
I'll update you all tomorrow with how things are going 48hrs out. Hopefully, if nothing else this encourages people to give it a chance. For me, a few days of feeling crappy is a fair trade off for the protection this vaccine provides, and when the eventual variant booster shots come out I'll line up to get those too. I hope I don't end up feeling crappy, but if I do, I'd rather deal with that than covid.
