I know this probably won't be read/published but I need to get it off my chest: After watching HTTYD for the first time, I felt like a part of me had gone missing. I was in a bad mood and depressed. Two days later, I realized that I would totally give my left foot to live as Hiccup in the HTTYD world. I then broke down crying.

This may be dark but, in my opinion: Hiccup and Toothless should go out together, with a bang, at the end of the third movie. Their bond will remain strong till the end. This would be a very powerful and memorable finale to the franchise and would deviate from the traditional happy ending that most animated movies have.
