I’m so careful around my students to try to keep my political opinions to myself, but they all know I have a massive problem with FDR. Probably because of the face I made when I had to bring him up.

u don't wanna deal with cripples then don't be a teacher fucktard
You good bro? Like…coming out the gates 100mph is not sustainable. Also, your grammar and syntax are abysmal. No capitalization, no punctuation, you didn’t even spell “you” correctly and your phone autocorrects it. 65%
I’m 99% sure this is about the 504/IEP post. I never said I didn’t want those kids in my class. Frankly, I’m passionate about ensuring that every student gets what they need. Being a good teacher means not just serving the average student, but the above average student and the below average student. What I said was I didn’t want or like the redundancies between good teaching and data collection for following the plans mean. I’m sorry but those 50 plans all say “check for understanding” and that’s already my job. I said 504 plans shouldn’t exist because if a teacher is effective they’re already going to be doing what the plan says because that is what good teachers do.
Now in your message, you said, “deal with cripples,” which frankly is rude and improper language and the fact that you are anonymous leads me to believe that you wouldn’t want others to know that you used that phrase. What this tells me is that you put on a façade on tumblr to hide your true feelings of inferiority. You talk big game behind a screen with usernames and anonymous features. The fact of the matter is that I love all my students. I would kill and die for them and it hurts me to hear you talk about them using terms like that. Firstly, I don’t have students with physical disabilities, and if I did you can bet that they would be welcomed into my classroom with open arms. Second, I love being a teacher. I love seeing them grow and mature and learn, I can’t wait to see what they do. I have students who want to be lawyers, I have students who want to go to trade school, I have students that want to start working right out of high school and I take getting them to their goal seriously. Again, what I don’t like is the redundancy of this issue. I would be doing everything the plan says even if it the plan didn’t exist.
I never said that I didn’t want students who have disabilities, I said I didn’t want the plans. Lower level learners are a fact of teaching and they deserve the same opportunities as other students.
It seems like you need a hug so here you go

I hope you have a good day.

So I think I read somewhere that the teacher in question said he couldn’t have that patch because it (?) had something to do with slavery (?) or something like that. First off, if that’s true than that teacher needs to go talk to the social studies teacher because the Gadsden flag was created during the Revolutionary War and used as a symbol to unify the colonies. Ben Franklin would eventually use that idea to create the Join or Die symbol. It does not have a direct relationship to slavery. Ironically, it is supposed to be representative of a government not taking away a person’s liberties. Second, this is a direct violation of that boy’s constitutional right to expression based on the outcome of the Supreme Court case Tinker V. Des Moines where the Tinker siblings and a friend were told they could not wear a black armband in protest of the Vietnam War at school. The Tinkers won and now schools must practice what they call the Tinker Test. Tinker V. Des Moines added to the first amendment the freedom of nonverbal speech/expression. This school just failed the Tinker Test. That boy’s family has every right to sue the teacher, school, and district now.
Know your rights friends.

Let me tell you that as a teacher I am so over this. I have 150 students and around 50 of them have what we call an Individual Education Plan or IEP or a 504 plan. Both are federally mandated and legally required to be followed by the classroom teacher unless you would like to be sued by the kid’s parents or another random member of the community. Ok whatever. But when almost every single one of those plans has redundancies to what proper teaching means it’s a hassle, inconvenient, and an unnecessary stressor added to the stress of teaching. Of those 50 plans I have to follow I genuinely believe that only around 15 are necessary. If a student has an IEP I will always follow that plan more rigorously than a 504 because an IEP is for special education. I have to reduce the rigor to ensure that they get the content at their cognitive level. But with a 504 I have to allow them to do certain things like offer them extra time on tests and assignments, allow preferential seating and any host of other random things. I don’t think 504s should exist. I shouldn’t have to accommodate every little thing. We’re (teachers) tired. We’ve seen an increase in plans and rises in “diagnoses.” I overheard a student just the other day say they wish they could get a diagnosis for the accommodations. Internally, that infuriated me. Most people don’t realize that what they think teaching is, is only about 20% of what we do. The behind the scenes work is 80% of the job. It’s going to meetings, creating tests and quizzes, sending emails to parents and administrators about students, ensuring the students’ well being, finding resources, creating activities, grading, unpaid duties before and after school. That teacher you’re meeting on meet the teacher night? Yeah they’re not getting paid to be there. We’re also expected to attend our students extra curricular activities to support them. Frankly, I have no issues with that, but I’m also single with no kids so I have the time to do that, but if I had young kids there’s no way I’d be able to do that. We put a lot of expectations on our teachers, some reasonable, some unreasonable. Regardless, your child’s “ADHD” is not real. They are a child that needs more stimulation, not accommodation. Your child does not have anxiety, they are just anti-social and need to be in the classroom.
kids nowadays will be like "I have interests... maybe thats mental illness"

Socialism is by its very nature an ideology of blame; based in envy. It should not be surprising to us that an ideology that revolves around blame and scapegoating does not take accountability for its own historical failings.

I bet Occupy Democrats can’t even identify the 13th amendment, and if anything the 14th would probably still protect the baby under equal protection under the law. My guess is that judge says it goes against the involuntary servitude clause of the 13th, but that idea is ludicrous since the actual act of creating a child generally requires two consenting people of a child bearing/child creating age understanding the consequences of their actions. In cases of rape I could understand that argument since the mother did not consent or agree to the consequences of that heinous act, however, as that is a life growing, separate and distinct from the mother, the 14th amendment should guarantee equal protection under the law for that person so again we come around in a circle of the hotly debated when does life begin question because that would probably determine when 14th amendment rights for all US citizens. I’m not a lawyer or judge but I do believe that logic is pretty sound. The 14th amendment is so broad and powerful it is pretty much the basis of the entire Civil Rights movement.

I looked into the Houston one since I live in Texas and the articles I’ve found say that it was due to an 18 wheeler being in the middle of the track. Doesn’t mean that’s a cover for it, but regardless

Why so soon after the failed strike? Why the awful decisions? Why is this almost purposefully hitting the epicenter of major areas!? Right? Like almost all Appalachia is in immediate danger, SC would take care of the South East, Houston would take care of a major oil industry center. It wouldn’t surprise me if the next one would be like in Colorado. That’d take care of part of the South West.
Tumblr media
But for real, this issue seems to be working it’s way across the continental US. If it’s not somewhere near Colorado my next guess would actually be Alaska. Major oil drilling area. I don’t know but the second I heard there was a third derailment I just got a gut feeling that this is intentional.

If the GOP doesn’t get it’s act together with the 2024 nomination we’re going to have a repeat of the 1912 election and Biden will remain in office.
Thank goodness though I’ve already won the 2036 and 2040 election.

Almost every single line of this scene is incorrect or purposefully misleading. I grew up watching The Proud Family. I’m so sad to see what happened to it with this reboot. Please watch this video about the Declaration of Independence and how it was written with the intent of Civil Rights and equality in mind.

Almost every founding father hated the idea of slavery, but did not know how to free the slaves. They were afraid there would be riots and revolutions like the one in Haiti.
