Art summary for the year! I def was pretty crammed for the good first half of the year and then had a lot more content in the second half. I def tried a bunch of different styles and things this year and had lots of experimentation.

Thanks to everyone who has stuck around with me throughout even if my activity has been rather sporadic and interests jumping on and off. Looking forwards to seeing what next year holds!

absence is an illusion I've never been gone.... (sweats nervously in hasn't posted in several weeks)

so I haven't actually done an oc post in a while- so I figured I should! these are some of my favorite days throughout, this month has focused entirely on Daniel and the people he knows because I think he's silly <33 and it's actually given me quite a bit of time to develop his story!

I apologize for my absence as of late!! between college and work, I haven't had much free time and I've been doing my best to enjoy this month and an OC-tober prompt list I've been following! I can assure you, we will resume your regularly scheduled programming as soon as I've fully settled into everything though!

funniest part of this is TDP saying "I'm not prying into your life" as he's doing literally just that /j

some more explanation:

1) in my mind, TDP would in fact know of places like the Runelords labyrinth that schezo ended up at as a kid. he probably knew of the Runelord himself as well, and noticed long ago the "corruption" that trailed along with schezo wherever he went, he just chose not to say anything until this conversation came up

2) technically arle does know of the whole "losing head" thing, but schezo has pretty much assumed she's either forgotten it or moved past it considering she's much better now all things considered, hence why he says nobody knows

3) ever since I read about schezo's dynamic with the Runelord and how he doesn't want to BE him, even though he supposed to be carrying on that legacy, I've always wanted to do something like this where he initially gets compared before insisting he's not. and he never will be. he is his own person after all, and honestly if you look at his improvement from the madou games compared to now it's definitely noticeable!

there will be a happy ending to this I swear <3 it's a longer project of mine so!

this one came quicker since it's a lot of similar panels :] this updates focus was mostly movement & expression practice!

I actually find that TDP of all the people out there being able to sympathize with Schezos struggle is very compelling- especially considering in more recent games where he's trying not to be so clingy, but also gets the idea of immediately being deemed "evil" usually first purely because of his past (see his breakdown in the PPT games when arle initially blames the disaster on him for instance)

which is why I thought that he'd be the best for this conversation!

I've had this idea in my head and I'm just. ROLLING with it at this point

Every once in a while I gain a sudden burst of motivation to do something with these guys comic wise and I'm determined to properly finish this one all the way through! It's good practice for me, and it's fun to try the more laid back panel by panel style!

As for an actual explanation...

Very dedicated Puyo fans know of the Madou series- this entire conversation about to unfold it based entirely around the events of said series. With some creative liberties, of course!

It's one of my favorite HCs that TDP has a knack for being able to sense powerful magic / even death itself considering his title within the puyo underworld, and that plays an important role in what's gonna unfold

He'll also recognize a certain name... :]

This is purely self indulgent, so I'm not focusing on matching it up COMPLETELY with the games lore, but it does focus on a lot of it!

On top of that this is a project that'll probably be...6 parts long, at the least, so I hope people are at least excited to see it >:3c

It's still summer for me so expect updates as frequently as I can!

day by day i think about schezo and abruptly remember the original game series where he just straight up loses his head

and sometimes. SOMETIMES i'm stuck remembering that.

these guys are really simple, quick little $10 icons- they can be ocs, sonas, or even fandom characters! :] (as seen)

i can do pretty much any species- humanoids, animals, dragons etc. I'm very flexible!

because it's such a quick thing I'm requesting payment upfront, and the icon itself will be done within a day or two depending on how busy I am (but it's summer still, so I'm not very)

you'll get to choose your background color, the expression, and I'll send a sketch/lineart throughout the process just to be sure it's being done right!

started trying to 100% Sackboy a big adventure and got really into the lbp games again and had this idea so-

Little Big Hermitcraft!

(quite literally just the characters from the games swapped out with hermits habfkg)

some general things!:

I haven't figured out Mama Monkey yet, like it says on there lol

And I want to do lbp 1 - 3 as well! the idea there is that some hermits from here can get reused there too, since canonically A Big Adventure doesn't exactly happen in the same universe as the lbp games (which is why no one thinks of Sackboy as a hero)

With that, my main plan is grian being sackboy for each game and then filling spots with hermits (AND non-hermits) that weren't used here before reusing these hermits

(please note I will be spoiling things!!!! keep that in mind ty)

Grian:

he's sackboy! unlike the past games + sackboys little noises in this game, he can talk lol

Given the fact he's small and avian (in Canon sackboy is 7-8cm tall, making Vex 1'6" LMAO) Scar calling him 'Pesky Bird' works habfkg

Like mentioned above, my plan is to keep him as sackboy for all the games

Scar:

Bascially where the entire idea came from (alongside grian)

I gave him Vex because of him being drawn as a vex/all that hsbfkgn

BUT ALSO Vex likes to 'act' all goofy jumpin around and stuff while he's going against Sackboy (such as in the beginning where he 'accidentally' drops his plans which sackboy grabs and runs off with)

Also Vex can float/glide around (and could shapeshift in storyboards which I'm taking and running with LMAO) so why not give Scar that power :3c

some design notes!!! his eyes + mouth glow just like Vex's does, and I was thinking that the wraps around his legs could act like Leg braces (like I've seen people draw him with) (I'm sure his arms could be the same too, I mainly put those there to look like how Vex's arms do pf)

Mumbo:

Grumbot. no other explanation /j

Him being a robot since he likes to do a lot of Redstone + is quite nervous a lot of the time /lh

^ which is why i didn't pick someone like Doc for this, since Naomi is friendly (good for being the Guide to the cosmos), apologizes quite a bit in game + gets hacked by Vex (which I'm sure if that was Doc he wouldn't get hacked with the amount of anti-virus stuff he'd have lmao)

design notes! Mumbo has copper plates (mainly cause it looked cool), and he's likely made up of metal and minecraft Redstone tools (such as the Redstone torches on the head lol). The suit just looks cool (in mumbo's opinion hanfkgk)

Ren:

Pretty much his King Ren phase lmao

I don't have much notes design wise either, since it's kinda just King Ren hsnfkgng (you could totally give him a cardboard mustache though, that'd be funny)

Bdubs:

Moss.

I figured Bdubs being Gerard works, since he studies the wildlife and fauna throughout the game (giving you dreamer orbs in the process each time he meets you after the first meeting)

similar to Ren, there's not really much note wise hdngm

Xisuma:

He's Scarlet since she's a Knitted Knight, as well as Sackboys Guide throughout the game (and gets hit in the chest by Vex near the end LMAO, but does live)

I removed like all his armor he's normally drawn with LMAO

I gave him cool gloves tho :3c and a bone staff because he's got the whole bone thing going on this season
