A list of DV info that hasn’t been officially announced
Since I’ve found there’s a few specific bits of information I’ve been explaining multiple times in the DV discord recently–information that has only been disseminated through the discord or through streams, so there’s no official sources to point through–I decided to compile some of it.
Please keep in mind that because none of this has been officially announced, it may be subject to change.
Here is a link to all of the currently known pets by @pesh-tigo–officially released ones on the first tab, ones that have only been shown in streams/on the instagram in the second.
Premium Accounts and Turnips
Premium accounts will cost $5 a month, and you can buy 1 month, 3 months, or 6 months at a time (it is unknown if there will be a discount for larger bundles, but it seems likely).
Premium perks include a higher daily potato earning cap, the ability to do more quests per day, and sets of fancy underwear you can put on your avatar for as long as you have premium.
When you purchase premium, it comes in the form of a premium token that you can either activate or trade, so it will be possible to buy them off other people for potatoes. (All KS backers will get 1 premium token that they can use during beta specifically–it won’t come back for official launch)
Premium accounts are not tied to the premium gacha–you don’t need to be on premium to spin the premium gacha, you just need to have turnips.
Each premium gacha spin will cost the turnip equivalent of $2.
You’ll be able to earn turnips by watching ads, though there will be an as of yet unknown limit.
There will be new premium items (and new non-premium items) every month, that retire at the end of the month. There will only be 1 premium pet each month, and an as of yet unknown number of avatar items.
Pet Affection and Evolution
When you raise a pet to max affection, it will evolve. This does not mean it will turn into another pet–there will just be some small changes to its appearance.
All pets will receive a new color palette upon evolving, while fantastical pets may gain some pattern changes, and legendary pets may have some small edits to their features.
All pets evolve, including the KS pets (though likely not including custom pets). No pet has more than one evolution, and you do not get to choose the color.
If you don’t like the evolved form, you have the option to keep the pet the way it was instead.
When you trade a pet to someone else, its affection becomes 0, and it will de-evolve if it was previously evolved. Even if it’s traded back to the original owner, the affection will still go down to 0. (anji voice: they’re SUPER mad at u)
Classes, Characters, NPCs, and Quests
You cannot change your class after you create your character, due to the fact that it affects your stats, which affects your quest progression.
The only thing classes determine, though, is your initial stats and a handful of class-specific avatar items and skins. You can still wear other skins and items so that you look nothing like your starting class.
At some point in the far future, you will be able to create a 2nd character, essentially making a 2nd game file where you can play through the storyline with a fresh slate. This will give you a chance to play a different class than the one you started with.
You will need certain amounts of certain stats in order to talk to some NPCs or finish some quests. In addition to your starting stats, you can gain stats from avatar items, completing quests, and your active pet (which can have natural stats, gain stats permanently from eating food, and gain stats temporarily from holding totems).
There will be points in the story where you have to choose sides between NPCs, and unlocking one of their stores will lock you out of the other. This is to encourage trading with others. If you work hard doing quests to raise an NPC’s affection to max, however, you can still unlock their store even if you were initially locked out of it.
Custom Makers and Pet Accessories (most of this info has been released, but still tends to cause some confusion)
Custom pets are one-of-a-kind pets that can be gained through Custom Pet Makers, which are available through any gacha but are the rarest item on site. They are designed by an official site artist.
Custom avatar items are one-of-a-kind avatar items that can be gained through Custom Item Makers, which are also available through any gacha, and are slightly less rare than Custom Pet Makers (but are still very rare). They are also designed by an official site artist.
We don’t know yet how the item to get pet accessories will be released, but it does also happen with an item. Unlike customs, all pet accessories are usermade.
A pet accessory is not an item that you can just take off and store or trade. When you use a pet accessory item, you will select the pet you want to put an accessory on and upload the PNG file directly to it. If you ever remove the accessory or trade the pet, the accessory will disappear.
Users will be able to sell accessories via selling others the right to upload their designs.
Usernames
You will need to have both a “login name” and a “username”. Your login name is just an added security measure, and will be secret to everyone but you, while your username is what is displayed to other people.
You cannot change your login name.
You can change your username as many times as you want. The first 3 times are free, but after that, you will need an item.
Both usernames and login names must be unique–no two people can share the same ones. It’s a little unclear, but it should be possible for your login name and username to be the same as each other.
If you have any more info that hasn’t been officially posted yet, feel free to add it on.
