Making Magic Chapter Update!

Hermione took a few slow breaths and accepted the glass of water Harry handed her. “Thanks for getting me out of there, but you’d all best go back and finish giving statements before they print pictures of that. I think I’m going to go home and rest.”

“Okay, Hermione, if you’re sure,” Ginny said softly, still rubbing Hermione’s back.

“Very sure,” Hermione insisted. “Best be quick before Skeeter finds out and announces I’m pregnant or something worse.” She tried to laugh, but the jostling made her stomach clench.

The creaking of old wood signaled their departure from the room and then two faint pops. Hermione let herself rest on the floor for a few moments, finally shifting to push herself up once her stomach calmed. A hand wrapped around hers. She hadn���t realized that Ron was still there.

“Hermione, you didn’t answer my question,” he said, helping to get her off the ground.

Fuck, so much for avoiding that.
