one thing about this study is that the statistic on sexual violence by sexuality are highly experimental (it’s even noted that they may not be accurate due to multiple limitations of the study) meaning that it’s not certain that they are true. as well as the statistics based on race. according to this study, biracial women are far more likely to experience sexual violence than black and indigenous women and that is just blatantly false.
only noting this because i have seen bisexual women use this statistic to perpetuate lesbophobia or the idea that bisexual women are the most oppressed of SSA women. i have also seen this study used to discount the experiences of black and indigenous women and sexual violence towards them. stay mindful!
YES, men can be rape victims, but let’s get one thing clear as glass:
1. Women are overwhelmingly more likely to experience a rape or sexual assault. 82% of all juvenile victims are female. 90% of adult rape victims are female. Females ages 16-19 are 4 times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault. One in five women and one in 71 men will be raped at some point in their lives. In fact, bisexual women are the most likely out of ANYONE to experience sexual violence.
The rape of males is real, absolutely, but it is not on the same scale as the rape of females. Don’t discuss the two as if they’re on the same widespread scale.

I’ve literally never been in a situation outside of middle school where a man crying has been mocked/ hasn’t been taken seriously. Like most adults are pretty empathetic towards men displaying emotion and I’ve heard many women express the sentiment that seeing a man cry immediately moves them to tears because “men only cry when it’s really serious” like the idea that women all point and laugh at a man weeping is such an absurd fiction lmfao

it’s not your job to entertain him by sending him nudes
it’s not your job to satisfy him sexually because he’s horny
you are not required to do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or that you don’t want to do
don’t be scared of “losing him”
he most likely wasn’t anything worth keeping

They’re also demanding social reforms in housing & child/elder care: requesting an increase in public housing units & for the state to hire workers in order to ensure proper & free care of the elderly and children for all families.

“A long-term study of children raised by lesbians found that these children were less likely to suffer from physical and sexual abuse than were their peers who were raised by heterosexuals. This is thought to be due to the absence of adult heterosexual men in the households (Gartrell, Bos, & Goldberg, 2010). Girls raised by lesbians tend to have higher self-esteem, show more maturity and tolerance than their peers, and are older when they have their first heterosexual contact (Gartrell et al., 2005, 2010). Children raised by same-sex parents seem to be less constrained by traditional gender roles; boys are less aggressive, and girls are more inclined to consider nontraditional careers, such as doctor, lawyer, or engineer (Gartrell et al., 2005; Stacey & Biblarz, 2001). Over the course of more than 20 years, scientists studied the psychological adjustment of 78 teenagers who were raised by lesbian mothers. Compared to age-matched counterparts raised by heterosexual parents, these adolescents were rated higher in social, academic, and total competence, and lower in social problems, rule-breaking, aggression, and externalizing problem behavior (Gartrell & Bos, 2010). There are fewer studies of children raised by two men, but gay fathers are more likely than straight fathers to put their children before their career, to make big changes in their lives to accommodate a child, and to strengthen bonds with their extended families after becoming fathers (Bergman, Rubio, Green, & Padrone, 2010).” ~ Martha Rosenthal, Human Sexuality: From Cells to Society, p.247.

Some MOC are strange because they view sex with white women as somehow “getting back” at white men/white supremacy. It’s weird how a lot men view sex not as an intimate act but as a tool of power and humiliation

dworkin has said pretty crazy things but she did not support abuse.
those quotes were taken out of context to make radical feminism look bad. i know what article that is - its written by a conservative christian.
1) andrea prefaced that entire thing by saying she redefines erotic as a non-sexual thing. 2) she is arguing that closeness with a child, an animal, family members turns into something sexual by abusers because our society puts sexual love above all else hence why she brings up the nuclear family. in the mind of an abuser, something sexual brought into the relationship means its true love. this is what she is analysing.
i dont necessarily agree with what she's saying but she isn't by any means supporting abuse.
she specifically mentions “fucking between humans and animals” and “the incest taboo” i do not find the idea that she’s defending bestiality and incest to be far-fetched or that her words were taken out of context. and it doesn’t really matter to me who the article was written by because most of my screenshots were her own writing. not just an out of context sentence here and there, but full paragraphs of her opinions about incest and bestiality. as well as her blatant homophobia. what really makes radfems look bad is refusing to acknowledge the faults of the people we uphold to be outstanding feminists.

Maybe I'm too American but this Sarah Everard thing is blowing my mind.
"Sarah Everard should not have submitted to arrest. Women should run from a cop who tries to arrest her and call an emergency hotline."
Uh, where I'm from, that just means you die faster? Are UK cops just gonna be totally cool with woman refusing to be arrested and running away from them? I know they don't carry guns but cops are cops everywhere. That just seems like "choose how you'd like to be assaulted today."

every time someone says “andrea dworkin was right about everything” i cringe inside. consider:
dworkin’s arguments against the reality of sex
Tumblr media Tumblr media
dworkin’s homophobia (for as much as y’all talk about “woke homophobia” from TRAs, did you know dworkin shared these same beliefs?)
Tumblr media
dworkin, pro bestiality
Tumblr media Tumblr media
dworkin, pro incest
Tumblr media Tumblr media
dworkin, pro pedophilia
Tumblr media
so every time i hear “dworkin was right about everything” i know one of two things immediately. one, you haven’t actually read much dworkin. which is okay! two, you’re pro incest, bestiality, pedophilia, and homophobia. but i usually give people the benefit of the doubt and assume it’s the first.
** and a disclaimer before i get angry reblogs… where in this post have i criticized dworkin’s writing on pornography and prostitution? thank you.

THIS THIS THIS. this argument is so fucking annoying to me. if you were to say “i’m a marxist but i believe in the free market” people would laugh in your fucking face. aren’t y’all the same people who love to say that words mean things? words mean things even when you don’t like it. why are people so obsessed with adopting labels that don’t describe them and watering down radical political ideologies just to fit themselves in them?

the details of the sarah everard murder came out....they're super depressing and the man absolutely pretended to be on duty and used his badge and tools to trick her, he handcuffed and 'arrested her', which there turned out to be actual witnesses to, who also thought it was a legit arrest, did horrific things, then murdered her.
and he had multiple indecent exposure reports from as far back as 2015, and as recent as 3 days before the murder, and the police covered them up basically, prevented him from being charged and prosecuted. if he was, then sarah would still be alive.
