I bet when Arabella joined camp, she was bothering more than just Withers with her questions. She was probably asking everyone there whatever came to mind.
All hell broke loose when she got to Astarion and asked, “If you’re a vampire, then why do you look so old?”

what the haters simply don’t understand is that nesta archeron is the closest sarah j maas will ever get to writing a jaime lannister or theon greyjoy. like, nesta going to the wall for feyre? that was something. something real. that made me feel something, more than a thousand self pity monologues from rhysand ever could.

can we talk about how nesta’s forgotten drinking buddies definitely think rhysand and feyre are like. super classist. because they’ve watched the inner circle go to Rita’s and get absolutely fucked up for centuries but as soon as the high lord’s sister in law spends some time at a poor people bar she mysteriously disappears without a trace and her apartment building is torn down. there’s no way they don’t talk about it to this day.

necromancer!nesta with cool death powers. she doesn’t need the mask. she smiles at nothing, vaguely talking about something with the dead. they love her. her best friend is a dead valkryie who likes to prank cassian (who is, ironically, terrified of ghosts)

What’s your biggest controversial ACOTAR take?
Mine is that I think under completely different circumstances, Rhys & Nesta would be so hot together. In a way that can only truly work in fanfic, where the only thing happening is pure, outright smut that doesn’t really lead anywhere. Enemies banging it out? Sign me up😏
(it’s still fuck canon Rhys though 🙏)

I don't understand why Rhysand is the most popular Male character in the series then Lucien " If I offer you the moon on the string, will you kiss me too?" and Tarquin "I will fight for equality between all faeries" exist

trying to write an acotar fic that is grounded in canon is such a sisyphean task because when you do a close reading of the text it kinda falls apart. like we talk about the major inconsistencies in characterization, plot, and worldbuilding a lot, but the details are also a mess. because why is it mentioned that feyre wears a crown to visit her sisters in acomaf and then never brought up again or explained. sorry but we actually do need to know WHY she is wearing a crown. like what’s the point of it here? to show off to elain and nesta of all people?? or did sjm just change the order of events in which feyre becomes high lady, and nobody in how many rounds of editing ever caught this?
anyway there’s some goofy nonsense like this almost every chapter

nesta getting gwydion after amren hammered on and on about how powerful that sword would make rhys is something that is very funny to me

this!!! and keep in mind, this was a week after feyre was taken. nesta was barely recovering from the effects of near-starvation when she undertook four days of hard travel, in the deep of winter, through wolf country, with a mercenary, when she was so scared of mercenaries after being harassed by a band of them mugged that she could barely look at them. and when she got there, she went up against ancient magic and tried to break through the wall, knowing nothing but danger lay on the other side.
all because she believed “it wasn’t right” that feyre was taken.
nesta is one of the bravest, strongest, most honorable characters in this entire series.
I don't know about everyone else but I find it absurd that it was never mentioned again throughout the entirety of the series that Nesta had tried to rescue Feyre. She had braved the forest with the mercenary and attempted to seek a way through the wall. Why was it so easily forgotten?
Edit: It's almost as if it was intentionally not mentioned anywhere. Ever again. To make her character be perceived in a certain way by the readers.

all my editing notes for this big queen of harlots chapter where nesta meets the IC over that very dramatic dinner are like “everyone needs to be a much bigger asshole here” 💀

okay look. i KNOW the moment we get more time and content with him, it’s going to be revealed that eris is wearing a mask, and he’s doing all of these things for his mother and his people, and hey he isn’t really a BAD guy, he’s just been given a bad hand! i know this.
but at the same time i’m going to be so angry if he goes to the rhysand school of “actually im the best person ever YOU’RE wrong for ever doubting me.”
i want him to have a sharp tongue, and say some shitty things. i want him to make bad choices and not hand wave them away as good. we’ve spent far too much time with the inner circle who portray themselves as cruel, just to get genuinely offended when people then take them at their own word (and actions) treat them accordingly. i need eris to be a bitch and i need him to OWN it!! as a reward.

the real reason azriel is frothing at the mouth about the mating bond and fantasizing about lucien challenging him to a blood rite is because he’s pissed off that elain got a vanserra and he didn’t. first eris doesn’t nasty make out with him in front of everyone when he body slams him during the high lord meeting, and now lucien’s off the market? its devastating. the only thing keeping him going is the fact that gwyn’s a snarky, stubborn redhead too and mama did NOT raise a quitter

Nesta was fine at the beginning of Acosf bc she hadn't cut her own bangs yet. The IC was hasty bc they don't understand women.

Shipping fictional characters isn’t representative of your moral values. It’s representative of your particular psychic damage and the themes and motifs that haunt you. Hope this helps.
