Tommy Kinard is not as terrible of a person as you want him to be you’re just ignoring the fact he’s had character development (and actual scenes in canon that show that development) because you want Buck and Eddie to fuck so badly and don’t actually care about their character arcs.

the number of people who saw Tommy was surprised about Buck wanting his attention and THEN go on to say "oh it's because he thought Buck wanted Eddie's attention AND he knows Buck/Eddie have romantic feelings for each other and THAT'S why he was surprised AND Buck was just confused on his feelings and he really wants Eddie" - they are really watching with buddie goggles on. they came to one correct conclusion and then go off the rails

yes, Tommy did think Buck wanted Eddie's attention - because Eddie told him as much! Tommy goes to Buck's place immediately after he helps Eddie with his ankle, so he would have heard Eddie's take on it - that Eddie thinks Buck is jealous because Eddie and Tommy are spending so much time together. That's why Tommy starts talking about he doesn't want to interfere in their friendship; he doesn't know that Buck wanted his attention until Buck says it.

As for Tommy thinking Buck and Eddie have romantic feelings for each other... There is just straight up no evidence for that in the show lol. You want to write fic based on that assumption? Hell yeah. But thinking that's what's happening in canon is simply wrong based on what's on screen

And the third one - oh, Buck is just confused - is insulting to the story that's being told. Buck is into Tommy. Even if the relationship ends, he will always have been into Tommy. He told Tommy himself, he told Maddie, he told Eddie - he acted like someone with an enormous crush because he has an enormous crush! And trying to erase that because it doesn't work with your view for your ship is

That's also why all the speculation that Tommy is going to step aside because of how close Buck and Eddie are is ridiculous - he already knows how close they are, and he doesn't seem to care.

I haven't suddenly turned my back on buddie--- neither have most of the others in my feed---- and yet asks like this flutter into my inbox while rarely interacting with my actual posts in any way...

Oliver himself has emphasised that he doesn't want to play buddie as a stereotype. For me, that's exactly why I don't want Eddie to follow up immediately after Tommy.

That doesn't mean that the two of them should happily continue dating other people, but maybe just learn to be single, have time to really fall in love with each other. First and foremost, they are friends.

Which also brings me to the queerbaiting debate: The way it seems now, they had no other option but to not make them official. And yet they have built up a depth of commitment and friendship that is rarely shown in this form on TV and is worth telling!

That's exactly why it would feel kinda odd--- and I speak only for myself - to rush straight to endgame after 6 years of slow burn.

I would love to see the two of them together! I just don't want to "be given short measure" aka "Oh, I'm in love with my best friend and of course he loves me back."

Buck and Tommy just moved in a new house, their house. But it’s in a HOA and the women around here are wild and merciless.

Coming after the way they cut their frontward. The color of their curtains and other stupid things HOAs like to complain about and Buck goes on a rampage

First he fix what they complain about so they can’t complain anymore about it

And then he reads every documents ever created since this HOA creation. Reading old regulations and their amendments, leading everything that ever happened in that area before pulling out his clipboard and going around and flagging other houses as well.

Fandom discourse is discoursing again, and all I’m saying is some of y’all need a lesson in the art of multishipping. Newsflash: people can like and enjoy BuckTommy while still shipping Buddie.

It’s fucking shipping. Fictional relationships that have absolutely no bearing on reality. It’s not as deep as some of you are making it out to be. A Buddie shipper saying they like BuckTommy isn’t “jumping ship” or “betraying Buddie”. Once again, I’m absolutely begging for a little critical thinking here.

To the Buddie shippers who are being made to feel bad about liking Tommy, I want you to hear me loud and clear; You are allowed to ship BuckTommy while still shipping Buddie. You are allowed to like Tommy. You are not, and will never be, “betraying Eddie” by liking Tommy. For God’s sakes, Eddie isn’t even canonically viable as a love interest for Buck yet. Until the writers themselves confirm that Buddie is in fact going to happen, we’re all just speculating, which means you can ship Buck with a motherfucking pebble if that’s what you want to do. It really is that simple.

I know others have said this before and i have raged in the tags of my reblogs before but I'm gonna say it again. Please stop tagging bucktommy fics with the buddie tag. You can ship bucktommy and write fics about them without including the buddie tag when there is no buddie in the fic. It ruins the experience for people who are looking for buddie fics and go into a fic expecting buddie to happen but it doesn't because people don't know how to tag their fics. I have nothing against bucktommy shippers, I'm just begging yall to tag your fics properly. Because the amount of fics that I have been a victim of where there's no buddie but the summary and/or tagging makes it seem like buddie is gonna be present is just making me so mad.

This should be applicable to everyone posting on ao3. Tag your fics properly. Tags are what help ppl find the content that they are looking for and enjoy. That is what the system is in place for. I AM BEGGING YOU LEARN TO USE THE TAGGING SYTEM CORRECTLY. And if you're new to ao3 it's not that hard to learn the tagging system. Take the time to learn and use it properly so that everyone can enjoy their time on the site.
