New album is live in all stores! #Amazing #artwork by @darkdonna. I spent the last five years travelling a lot - for personal, professional and creative reasons. Sometimes there was so much going on in those trips that it was hard to reflect on things real-time. In my project Sound of Travel I attempt to look back and meditate on all the experiences and emotions related to those amazing journeys. Most of the lyrics are based on the books and poetry from the countries that provided inspiration. The music features and quotes national instruments, rhythms, styles and ambient sounds of those places. Recorded in the ex-base of #U2 - @windmilllanerecording (Dublin, Ireland) - this album started as a series of #YouTube videos with the footage from the trips taken with a phone or a portable camera accompanied by a professionally produced soundtrack. Last year when I was traveling in Singapore I got the chance to create this composition with Neil Basu who was putting together his own spoken word show at the time. This week I played my music live for the first time! Whelan’s is a great venue, the crowd was amazing. I was lucky to get Bart on trumpet and Francesco on cajon to support my electronic Ableton Push performance. The audience seemed happy, we definitely were! :)
