Kotoko is so normal and has a decent relationship w her family which is good
She's the Surprisingly Normal woman
But even her presumable Normal Womanhood is. Like that. And Japan is a lot like America in terms of downplaying/joking about harassment towards afab people in general. That's how afab people grow up, even if they are only ever subjected to the surface of insidious sexist overtones that dominate capitalist culture.
Kotoko carries trauma anyone intelligent from a young age would, understanding how society saw her and how people would treat her as she got older. Anyone could deduce from there how much Worse it all can get as they grow into an adult. Why would she not be furious that the parents she seemingly sees as decent people grew up in the same kind of world, and that children today face the exact same torment? Her frustration is so raw. Yet in trial 2 in bleeds over into harsh framing of anyone she can possibly get to, for she can't seek out "bad guys" anymore yet can't stop trying to "rid" the world of ANY wrongdoing against others. She has lost sight of nuance and grace, for in her own eyes she became what she hated and can't admit it.
Personally I believe in Kotoko's overall mission but GIRL u GOTTA stop acting like a fuckin COP !!!!!
It only just occurred to me after the fact how much the promo art leading up to the release of round 6 focused on Ivan’s hands and Till’s neck…. Vivinos is a sicko
On the idea of Theseus's Ship: in the end, it's still his, isn't it?
It was known as Theseus's, and it will continue to be known as Theseus's.
Even after he has returned to the ground which grew the wood of the hammer used to nail the ship's frame,
Even after generations of new wood have rotted and the sails are rags clinging to threads,
Even after millennia,
Love how on the Milgram homepage when you scroll down you just get greeted with this under characters
Where all the prisoners have red backgrounds emphasizing what Jackalope said in Es' voice drama about how if he were in our position, he'd vote them all guilty. It also alludes to the idea that's what they all deserve. Unlike Es and Jackalope who both have a multicolored background that's a mix of the innocent and guilty colors.
There are other interesting things about it, but I find this one uniquely hilarious when put alongside how the characters have been received.
Other funny tidbit Jackalope being labeled a guide and his character page stating,
"He is supposed to be an UMA (Unidentified Mysterious Animal) that is said to live in Wyoming, USA."
"But for some reason he is working as a prison guard along with Es."
Like it just straight up goes well this thing isn't meant to be here in his description and it's incredibly funny.
Jackalope: I work for Milgram.
Milgram *describing him*: I know it works for us but he's supposed to be-
Smth i noticed on the 4th Anni art… haruka holding his bouquet like this.
specifically by the stems too; it’s sort of where all the flowers are bunched together, like a slimmer place/easier to hold like how he is holding them obviously but. The specific way his hands are resembles how your hands would be placed if they were to grip around somebody’s neck. It is made to resemble how he strangled his victim. Edit but. The stem is most similar to a neck because it connects to the roots/the body of the flower, what keeps it alive, and the actual flower itself would represent the human head; by interrupting the stem you get. Dead flower. So in that case it goes head = flower, body = roots and neck = stem. so
