“Where’s Fluffy?”

Part 2

“Y-You can talk?!”

“Yes, we established that.” Said the cat with a kind of entitlement sound but warm sound in his voice.

He jumped down and began to walk not on the typical 4 legs but up right like a person, the person stared in amazement as the cat walked out of site and into what looked like the kitchen.

Mavis stood there for what seemed like an eternity, still in both wonder and sheer fright. “AUNT ROXY!!” she screamed at the top of her lungs to the point it felt as though her throat was about to rip.

Running it to the living room where the aunt was siting and reading a dusty old book with the words hard to make out on the cover just from the age, looked up and in pounced this excited and terrified girl as she ran to her thinking, she was about to get knocked out of the chair due to the sheer force of motion the little girl.

“Your Cat can Talk???” she said very impatiently.

“WWWWhat?” Roxy said trying to pretend that she didn’t really know her beloved cat was able to do such a thing, clearly know that she knew the whole time.

“You must be hearing things dear; the cat can’t talk.” As she gave a fake little chuckle, “it’s an animal and the only animals that can talk are you and me dear.”

“AND walks on 2 feet??!!”

The aunt let out a heavy sigh,

“Well Fudge.”

“Where’s Fluffy?”

Our story begins in a small mountain town in on the east coast, a small home about a mile from town, very much like the picturesque town in the make believe suburb of Mayberry where we saw a slew of adventures with the local law enforcement. But our story takes a much different approach and the local law does like to make an appearance but not in a serious way. Here we find a little girl no older than 12 who is start a new life with a family she doesn’t really know. But she will, oh she will, say hello to Mavis and the adventure that awaits her.

Mavis, a little girl who’s life was turned upside down when she was sent to live with her Aunt Roxy, an aunt who from who she remembered liked to be by herself. Oh she wasn’t mean, or cruel by any means, on the contrary she was very enthusiastic and energetic to say the least. But there was something about her the Mavis could quite figure out, but none the less this is her family and she will make the best of it.

The house was a like a story book home that you hear about in fairy tales, all the way down to the moss covered shutters and the front door that could stand to use a coat of paint, inside was something out of a time capsule, with its 80s furniture and box TV that weighed more than a small car. It was surrounded by a decorative wood frame that most older TVs had which was a selling point for “fancy” people, Aunt Roxy called it a hand me down, in Mavis eyes it was perfect and on top of that TV was a small bed and in that small bed was a black cat, not pitch black like the ones on Halloween but a very very dark grey let’s just say. The cat Mavis noticed was missing part of his ear, which made her curious of course, was the cat in a fight, was the cat born this way, who knows, but what Mavis does know is that when she went to pet the cat, the cat said “if you could not, I just bathed.”

“Oh my gosh! You can talk!?!?”
