Generation 3, Chapter 61 (3.61) – Down the Dark, Dark Stairs

Previously on the Pickering Legacy Challenge…

Gen 3 vampire Honeydew had a mortality crisis over the Elder birthday of cousin Indigo…

… and it showed in her entire body.

She’s been getting this illness on and off for a while now, and she’s feeling a bit down over Indigo leaving; so when on-off beau Lilith invites her out, even though it’s daytime, to a dive bar, she goes.

‘All the bars in Simsville, and this is the one you pick?’

‘All the plasma bags in your inventory, and you drained our alien server a few nights ago? Caleb told me. If you’re wondering why you’re getting sick all the time, you might want to start there. I don’t care if your alien sort-of nephew is a demon. Stop drinking aliens.’

There was probably a reason for Lilith choosing the Blue Velvet: a few minutes after we get there, Del Sol celebrity Brittani Cho turns up.

Honeydew couldn’t care less—until it seems like Brittani’s eyeing her up.

And then Brittani spots the paparazzi snapping away at the other end of the bar.

And has a moan to Honeydew about it.

Now, call me cynical, but Brittani Cho is a big celeb—and they don’t even usually talk to normies, much less entertain entire conversations with them. Much, much less turn up to dive bars in Willow Creek for midday Plasma Janes.

But not for nothing, after all, is Honeydew The Boss in her Criminal career… And with her current fragile mood, it doesn’t take much to get her scheming brain going.

And while she’s beginning to address Brittani’s paparazzi problem, up pops someone else…

Crystal, the woman Honeydew met on a Forbitten Fruits outing a few nights ago, and eyed up as a potential client of her underground plasma donor crypt Hotel Honeydew!

It’s like fate.

Crystal’s a squeamish vegetarian, but she’s clearly interested in vampires—and Honeydew’s promised Jordan, the paparazzo, an interesting story if he’ll come home with her to see it.

Through the fancy estate…

Into the perfect family study…

Down the dark, dark stairs…

Through the underground lair…

Where the door closes behind them.

One Fo(u)r All CAS challenge by @madeofcc

Rules: Create a sim or choose one you like then create 4 alternative versions of this sim. You can’t change the body presets/face details/eyebrows. But you have to change everything else in order to create four other sims with the same base.

I took the opportunity to update and play dress up with my Simself! What I’ve learned is that I should really cut my hair short and lean into a whole witchy vibe...

Sims 4 Legacy Challenge – Pickering Family 3.60

Generation 3, Chapter 60 (3.60) – Immortal’s Mortality Crisis

Previously on the Pickering Legacy Challenge…

Gen 3 spare Indigo turned into an Elder, and decided to move out of the estate to spend his last days with his alien love and their Kleptomaniac blue child.

His ageing provoked a mortality crisis in vampire cousin Honeydew… And news of his leaving didn’t thrill her, either.

‘This is a joke. Right? She’s some blue being who ageing doesn’t apply to, and you just got told the Reaper’s round the corner. And we just got a ballroom. Why would you leave here?’

‘The ballroom’s pretty swanky, it’s true. But Honeydew—you’re a blue being to whom mortality doesn’t apply, too.’

‘I… You got me there. But. What if we made you immortal, too?’

‘Most people said you never had one, but I always liked your sense of humour, Honeydew.’

Honeydew’s still not happy at losing her cousin; and it’s at that moment we get a visit from the ghost of Honeydew’s sister, Fawn.

Indy wastes no time in asking Fawn what it’s like being dead.

‘Wish I’d had time to plan a better Cold Weather outfit, to be honest, Indy. Otherwise, it’s all fine.’

It’s not the answer Honeydew was looking for. So when the ghost of their grandma, Alexandrea, turns up, Honeydew tries appealing to her, instead.

‘Isn’t it lame, being dead? Wouldn’t he be better off letting me make him a vampire, instead? I know he’s an Elder, but he still looks better than Vlad, and he’s technically a Young Adult. So you never know about these kind of things.’

But Alexandrea’s not much help, either.

‘Honestly, Honeydew, I don’t know what to tell you. You get to come in and steal food from the fridge, and every now and again haunt a toilet, if things are getting too dull around here. Other than being stuck in this jacket for eternity, it’s not that bad.’

That wasn’t what she was hoping for, either; so long after the ghosts have gone back to their gravestones, and Indy’s staggered to bed, Honeydew stays up: so late Isabelline finds her, over breakfast, having decided she must upgrade all the audio equipment.

And her mortality crisis has returned, in full form, to boot - with tiger stripes all over her skin.

Sims 4 Witches Challenge – Greenbriar Coven 1.20

Upon returning from her date with Caleb, Alejandra discovered her sisters had been waiting for her, so they could all visit the magical realm. 

Rowan, determined there must be a more permanent solution to the murderous Murphy bed situation, struck up conversation with Practical Magic Sage Simeon. 

He seemed pretty amused by the situation. 

Emilee instantly sought out the Spellcaster she developed a connection with last time - Sage Morgyn - and it was a... Warm reunion. 

And Alejandra, all fired up from her date, sought a Spellcaster to duel. Of course. 

She got in the zone... 

They battled...

And for the first time, Alejandra won!

Maybe Caleb’s her good luck charm...

Sims 4 Witches Challenge – Greenbriar Coven 1.19

Alejandra’s (mysteriously daytime) date with vampire Caleb Vatore was going great... Until half of Del Sol Valley got quite literally right between them. 

(And apparently found the Nectar not quite to their taste.)

Alejandra didn’t drag herself all the way to Del Sol Valley for that - she had a better suggestion. 

‘These mortals are annoying - and there’s a newly installed closet upstairs...’ 

Caleb was on board. 

So on board, in fact, that he travelled upstairs at vamp sped, and waited while Alejandra still climbed the stairs.

She got there eventually, and made up for lost time.

Though she’d have thought it couldn’t have happened in broad daylight, Alejandra’s date with vampire Caleb Vatore started swimmingly. 

She brought them both Plasma Janes, and they sat at the bar, chatting and making eyes at each other, as dates do... 

Until half of Del Sol Valley decided to get in the way.

While Rowan fished outside, the murderous Murphy bed struck again...

It upset Emilee...

... and Alejandra considered setting it on fire.

Mistrusting the bed, they decided to stay awake and practice their practical magic, so neither would have to rely on Rowan for Repairio fixes. 

But the day improved for one coven member, at least - Caleb called to ask Alejandra on a date - mysteriously in broad daylight.

Sims 4 Witches Challenge – Greenbriar Coven 1.16

Escaping the Spice Festival after she’d hexed a bunch of celebrity mortals, the Coven followed a Dazed Alejandra to Windenberg, where she’d been invited to party with vampire and apparent love interest, Caleb Vatore. 

Alejandra wasted no time making out in the closet with Caleb, and looked extremely pleased about it afterwards. 

Emilee, meanwhile, made friends with the DJ, and had a party of her own.

And poor Paranoid Rowan sized up the juiced Sims, freaking out over the thought of the coven being discovered - and generally hated it all. 

She dragged the Coven back to Glimmerbrook as soon as possible - where Alejandra fell into a much needed sleep, and poor Emilee tried to brave the murderous Murphy bed again. 

But Rowan, too stressed to sleep, calmed her nerves with some late night fishing, relieved to be back in the peace of Glimmerbrook again.

Generation 3, Chapter 59 (3.59) – Strange Love

Previously on the Pickering Legacy Challenge…

Gen 3 heir Isabelline threw a birthday party for brother Indigo, who turned into an Elder. All spouses were invited, including Isabelline’s potential new beau, Justin:

In a remarkable hat, nonetheless. I can’t wait to see his formalwear.

And Indigo’s alien love, mother of his child, Danica.

The two have a charming reunion…

During which Danica gives Indy some good news.

‘So. Remember that conversation we had, in that dive bar in Brindleton Bay, when Kobi was a toddler and I met him for the first time, and you tried to convince me to move to earth and raise him, even though it’s against the customs of my species?’

‘Vaguely.’

‘Well, I decided I’ll do it. I bought a house across the river. I’m told human children love that type of building. I figured, since Kobi’s been raised here, it might make the move easier on him. And you’re not getting any younger, so… Should we do this thing, or what?’

It’s exactly what Indy wanted to talk to her about; exactly how he wanted to spend his last days.

He wants. A whole lot.

But when the party’s over, and Danica’s gone back to Sixam to pack her things, and the rest of the humans are asleep, Indigo finds out that not everyone is thrilled by the news.

Sims 4 Legacy Challenge – Pickering Family 3.58

Generation 3, Chapter 58 (3.58) – Elegant Elder

Previously on the Pickering Legacy Challenge…

Gen 3 vampire Honeydew set about scheming for Vampire domination…

… But back at the estate, the humans were thinking about their own lifespans.

Gen 4 ex-heir Jasmine asked new girlfriend Julia to move in with her:

‘Me? Who you met… Yesterday?’

‘When you know, you know.’

Too bad Julia doesn’t know they’re not moving into this grand estate, but into Jasmine’s deadbeat dad’s modest family home in a completely different world.

And Gen 4 alien child, Kobi, decided he’d like for him and his dad, Gen 3 spare Indigo, to move in with his alien mother, after all.

Not that he’s not going to leave the house in as much chaos as possible. LOOK AT HIS SMUG FACE. This kid is evil.

So Isabelline puts on a brave face and sets about planning an amazing birthday/leaving party for Indigo.

She cooks all day:

Makes Indigo a bouquet of flowers in just his colour:

And has the sense to lock the other doors, so the party has to happen in our specially designated party room.

We invite the whole family, and every spouse Isabelline knows; including Lilith, whose happiness over something doesn’t please Honeydew:

I’m assuming it’s something to do with Caleb’s relief at Honeydew not reacting to him saying she was running their Club into the ground. But she won’t be tame for long…

We also invite Isabelline’s new love interest, Justin, who seems to get the family’s approval…

… Even if he’s clearly only just realising what he’s got himself into.

But then, before he can blow out the candles on the cheesecake Isabelline cooked just for him…

Indigo ages up!

He’s the most graceful Elder I’ve ever seen, and I’m going to miss him SO MUCH.

His ageing seems to effect Honeydew pretty hard…

It’s almost like the mortality crisis has caused an allergic reaction. After all, her siblings are long dead, and her cousins are now turning into Elders—and she’ll live forever as a Young Adult. Poor Honeydew has a lot to consider…

But Indigo, of course, takes ageing with his usual joy, posing for photos with his sister and his son.

On a Space Invaders background, of course. Nothing less for our Interstellar Smuggler.

The photos will be a nice momentum when he’s living with two aliens… And a potential career move for the photographer, Gen 4 heir Jellybean.

Sims 4 Witches Challenge – Greenbriar Coven 1.15

With Alejandra hexing celebrity mortals left right and centre, the Greenbriar Coven had to get out of dodge and leave the Spice Festival. What they didn’t expect was that Alejandra, in her Dazed state from a backfired spell, would get an invite from a certain vampire - and drag the whole Coven to party in Windenberg with her. 

Alejandra, Dazed as she was, wasn’t nearly as guarded as she might have been - and made it pretty clear how much she likes Caleb. 

This is a turn for the books...

Sims 4 Witches Challenge – Greenbriar Coven 1.14

Alejandra never could be around mortals too long and resist hexing them. So the Spice Festival, in all honesty, was probably too much temptation for her. 

First, she targeted snotty Judith Ward, who’d just snubbed conversation with Emilee: 

I think she meant to cast Deliriate rather than Despairio, but here we are. 

Then, warmed up, she slid over to the bubble blowers - rationalising that the mortals there obviously wanted to be dazed anyway. So she aimed, and hexed - 

But I can only suppose that Rowan sabotaged the spell, because it backfired - making Alejandra Dazed, instead.

Sims 4 Witches Challenge – Greenbriar Coven 1.13

After a fitful night of sleep, thanks to the murderous Murphy bed, productivity in the Greenbriar coven was low. 

Rowan’s face says it all. 

Given what they did to the cauldron, it didn’t seem wise to use the oven - so the Coven braved visiting the city, to attend the Spice Festival. 

Alejandra attempted the Curry Challenge... 

It didn’t go well, and she needed a lot to drink afterwards. 

Emilee tried to make some new friends, but that wasn’t a massive success, either, judging by the looks on their faces.

Only Rowan, making friends with another Coven leader, had any fun. 

It’s probably why she was so mad at Alejandra when Alejandra ruined it by hexing a mortal - again.

While Alejandra began a surprising doorstep flirtation with vampire Caleb Vatore, indoors, the Murphy bed continued to wage war on Emilee and Rowan. 

It’s apparently infuriating enough to make Rowan phase through walls. 

Rowan took to repairing it with a quick spell... 

But neither of them trusted it enough to go back to sleep. 

Rowan slept on the sofa: 

Emilee slept in a worse place... 

And eventually, only Alejandra was brave enough to use the bed.

Sims 4 Witches Challenge – Greenbriar Coven 1.11

Having been beaten in yet another magical duel, Hothead Alejandra found herself inspired to create a nice little Potion of Nausea for the next spellcaster who crossed her. 

But as she crafted her potion at night, in the cauldron hidden in the forest at the back of their cottage, someone came knocking.

Caleb’s the second vampire to try the Greenbriar door at midnight - but something about him endeared him to Alejandra, with luck that Vlad never had. 

He made a few self-deprecating jokes... 

And Alejandra, to everyone’s surprise (including mine) got on board.

Sims 4 Legacy Challenge – Pickering Family 3.57

Generation 3, Chapter 57 (3.57) – Vampin’ About the Town

Previously on the Pickering Legacy Challenge…

Gen 3 spare Indigo made plans to move himself and his alien son, Kobi, out into a house with Kobi’s mother, and Gen 4 ex-heir Jasmine planned to move herself and her new girlfriend in with her father…

And just in time, because resident vampire Honeydew is getting bored of a full house of people she can’t eat.

So we call for a gathering of Honeydew’s vampire Club, the Forbitten Fruits—and as soon as we arrive at the restaurant, Honeydew’s draining the waiting staff dry.

It’s worrying, how much of a taste she’s got for these Alien Sims. Hope it doesn’t come back to bite her, later.

(I made her do so many ‘Make Vampire Pun’ interactions, I’m apparently stuck on them myself. Apologies.)

She’s pretty pleased with herself after her alien snack. And it seems to have a loopy effect, because the first thing she wants to do is hijack the bicycle Caleb Vatore rode in on, and joyride it around Forgotten Hollow.

Unfortunately, someone gets there first.

‘What the PLUM?’

(Honeydew has the best facial expressions and reactions of any Sim I’ve ever played in any save, ever. I love her.)

She’s pretty mad about the whole thing… And Vlad soon knows about it.

In fact, he talks about it for the next several Sim hours, to himself, out in the cold, thanks to the hallucination Honeydew put on him.

But he pockets the bike before she can ride it. Neither Honeydew nor Caleb are thrilled about that.

It’s probably what sparks Caleb’s annoyance at Honeydew for the rest of the night. Because his bike was stolen, but she goes on to chat up the locals, as potential ‘customers’ for her underground plasma donor crypt Hotel Honeydew…

To the pleasure of her beau, Lilith, who’s happy Honeydew is finally acting pleasantly towards other Sims—and drinking plasma from a bag, rather than a body.

Lilith has no idea Honeydew drained the alien server, though. So…

Even though Caleb is Honeydew’s vampire Maker, she’s never really liked him that much. And she proceeds to wind him up for the rest of the night…

… and then has the gall to ask him what he thinks of their Club.

His answer is not positive.

‘That cannot be a surprise to you. You just blew an air horn in my face.’

Honeydew frustrates him further by asking his sister, her sort-of spouse, what she thinks of the Club.

She’s quite smug about the reply.

‘See? Even your sister knows you’re wrong.’

But it’s food for thought on her status as a vampire, anyway.

When Honeydew schemes, we should all worry. She didn’t become The Boss in her Criminal career for nothing…
