Sharing a pic drawn by RockyGems for Pride Month. It’s Kestrel from The Animals of Farthing Wood along with my oc, her mate Falca. Yep, I made Kestrel homosexual in my headcanon. And I like it!

Just introducing a pair of characters of mine from a picture drawn by Space Weasel. These two are Sierra and Medina. Sierra is the wolf (or Lupine by the world’s terms), and Medina is the dragon. They are a pair of thieves who are trying to strike it big. Now they are best described as comically inept at their professions.
Sierra is the “brains” of the pair. A scheming and greedy sort who constantly smokes cigars. She comes from a long line of thieves and scoundrels and she feels she has to uphold her family legacy. Though she isn’t  a bad person. Medina is the “brawn” of the pair, though she ironically wouldn’t hurt a fly. She is the more moralistic of the pair but she is loyal to Sierra referring to her as “Boss”.
One key trait these two do share however is that they are huge gluttons when it comes to food. They are constantly hungry, both because their profession leaves them going without meals, and because they just love eating in general. In fact, daresay their appetites could rival the likes of Scooby Doo and Shaggy.
Now I made these two the way they are because I noticed most of these comical roles are given to male characters. In fact, one person I know described Sierra and Medina as female version of Timon and Pumbaa from the Lion King. These two happen to be part of my in progress fantasy series, with Sierra herself being an expy of the Big Bad Wolf.

This was created by rocky-fennek. It’s a title to an in-progress fantasy story I’ve been working on. I’ve posted it on Wattpad, Archive of our own, and Deviant Art, but it’s gotten very little attention to the point I nearly cancelled it. But so far I am breaking through the depression and will probably get back to it in time.

⭐️ Reblogs ADORED! ⭐️
Kira and Letha were born a bit over a trine apart and are the only two girls of their age group among the Valley Gelfling, so it's fortunate that they happen to get along well, due to them both being scrappy animal lovers❤️

One trope or story aspect I would like to see more of is a situation like this: a man or woman looses their spouse, and then finds a new love. As you can see, Adder from The Animals of Farthing Wood has that covered.

Now we have all considered the concepts of Alternate Universes, or AUs. Now what is most appealing about them? I mean I think it’s natural to wonder the possibilities of what could have been. Like what if one event went differently. I’ve dabbled in AU’s sometimes. Not as often as I would have liked, but the possibilities are there. In fact, the pictures above by Rocky-Fennek displays one such example of an AU. For example, what would have happened in the Lion Guard had Kion not mastered the Roar of the Elders, thus allowing Makucha’s Army to gain the upper hand and conquer the Tree of Life.
The obvious course of action itself would be simple: Without the Lion Guard and the Night Pride in their way, they would have been able to eat as much as they wanted at the Tree without so much consequence. And with months of essentially using the Tree of Life like an all you can eat buffet, the once proud army let themselves go. Now of course they felt pretty damn happy eating their fill every day, but over time, all that excessive overeating would take it’s toll as you can see below. So if anything their victory would be good at first, and then they would face the downside as they are now too fat and slow to hunt properly.
Another AU that has been on my mind is what if Leia from Star Wars had been raised on Tatoonie, while Luke by the Organas? Would the Skywalker saga end differently? Would events largely play out the same. Those are things to consider.
And now I end this blog post and my shameless art plug lol.

Now finishing off the trend of half-human hybrids in fiction. Here are a pair of characters of mine drawn by my friend Space-Weasel. I haven’t heard from him in a while, but I certainly hope he is well. Now the characters featured here are Sierra (the wolf), and Kinto, and their hybrid son Shiloh. They are from a project I call Legacy of the Fae, a project I am semi-cancelling, semi-taking a hiatus.
Now little Shiloh is a hybrid, but he follows the example of being an accepted hybrid, as Sierra’s race, the Lupines, and Kinto’s race, Humans, are common races in the setting of this story.
This pic is technically from an in development concept, but time will tell if it becomes canon. If I do continue Legacy that is. Note, Sierra is an expy of the id bad wolf, and Kinto is an expy of the woodsman.

Another pic done by rocky-fennek. A little look into my Raya and the Last Dragon headcanon. Now this goes into my whole half-human hybrid theme like with the last picture I posted. Now Sisu you recognize, but the black dragon is her oc, her husband Jarek. Now in my bio for Jarek, he was a human who died and woke up as a dragon. And then the little one is their son Reiko. Now Reiko is in a sense a hybrid, but in a spiritual sense, unlike Jiwe and Yinyin who are in a more literal sense. Just trying to keep a theme going here. I may post more images based on hybrids later.

Yet another redesign of an adopted Balto OC of mine I’m finally happy with now.
She was originally designed by DragonWithAShotgun on DA, decided to post the original design for comparison. She’s a lil lead dog named Rosemary :)
(Sorry about the shitty lineart on some of my recent work I’m still getting used to my tablet)

This is an image done by my friend rocky-fennek. In our personal little headcanon for the Lion Guard, Makucha and Chuluun ended up surviving the Roar and wound up turning over a new leaf. This led to them starting a family, their son Jiwe, and their daughter Yinyin. Don’t they just look cute. Check out Rocky as she does great commissions like this one.

Half-human Hybrids in fiction
One such story concept I am fond of are half-human hybrids. Now what defines a half-human hybrid is obvious. Said character is only half human, meaning one parent was human, while the other not so much. Now this plot point is often used as a medium for internal strife for the character. We have all seen the story of a child born of both worlds, struggling to fit in.
Personally I think this idea works on some levels because it kind of relates to how we all struggle to fit in with society, either because of limitations, or personal issues such as self-esteem. But of course half-human hybrids work as well as the character personally overcomes their trials to accept themselves. Because in the end we are the same.
Plus, I like the idea of people of two different (but compatible races or species) coming together and making a new life, transcending any boundaries or racisms that lie between the two opposing factions.
Of course this can be subverted if the two sides are not in opposition. I mean, Hotel Transylvania has the two romantic leads having a half-human half-vampire child together without any problems. Of course in the Hotel Transylvania universe, humans (least the ones of the 20th century) are pretty chill about monsters being around.
Steven Universe is another example of a half-human hybrid since the lead character’s father was a human, while his mother was from a race of sentient gem stones. Of course, they displayed Steven’s problems in more prevalence in the epilogue series Steve Universe Future, where it shows that being raised a half-human child can leave lasting negative effects. I mean Steven’s father and guardians were trying their best to raise him, and clearly loved him, but Steven’s unique childhood left lasting scars and no clear direction for him to go in.
